almost finished sprites dream reading... it has been draining!! that poor woman
real words, Jilli
mrp -- is that in her bio or where?
jilli sort of like junk in hot dogs
real words. Think chemicals
ty diz -- but I'm blind
Jilli-think Chemistry. Okay, now it's bedtime! *poof*
no, it is a private email. She had a very empowering dream and I offered to help her decipher it
It will leave her feeling so empowered and good... to know the meaning of what happened in her dream

wtg jilli
sprite is nice... she has come a long long way to being back on track after all she went through
on ya jilli!
I have strange dreams too that seem to make so much sense at the time
I keep dreaming that I've left my purse and all its contents like credit card etc in a busy place and then I remember and go back and it's gone.
I still dream that I've forgotten my homework...lol
mrp I never knew what sprite went through which upset her so
jilli, it is behind us now
back on track and loving her company
i will decipher your dream jilli!
she still goes for therapy but I'm glad she's on the mend
I'd be interested in your decipherment (word?) mrp.

busy buildings and outdoor areas
Watching TV news now, with Wills and Kate in Ottawa
MLF 2 July and Flosey 1 July
got it! thanks ru.. thought I'd typed that already!LOL
nbs, nbt! whoo hoo!!
and now i'm gone
*drops out of conversation*
mrp when you finish with Jilli I have one for you
wtg m9
ruru : (
ok here it comes jilli
ok west
Jilli, your purse is a symbol of material possessions, values, security, purchasing power and prosperity or lack of it. To leave it behind in busy areas is leaving behind material, monetary, pratical and functional states of consciousness all in having to do with making and spending money. Not having found the purse represents the price you hat to pay, a lost sense of values, loss of freedom, identity, capability, power, energy, conections ; loss of something you value highly. This could all come down to mean material rewards for labours of your mind and body, an exchange of energies or it could be karmic debt! Hope this helps jilli... just my understanding of your dream and if you need any clarification, let me know.
Thanks, mrp -- food for thought
how about loss of husband and planned way of life, mrp? Still haunts me after 15 years.
ok west, give me a short and sweet one... anything too long I have to take time to decipher
are you being haunted??
we stayed in a hotel recently and there was a white duvet on the bed I woke up and thought someone had hung it on the wall and it scared me so much I yelled out in my sleep woke myself and my husband
send me your dream about the loss of your husband and what happens in it, email it to me and I will help you find some light!
ok west... working on it now
mrp, loss of husband was no dream. It happened suddenly 15 years ago.
West - the hotel represents a transient state, attitude or feeling, a phase you are going through or may symbolise constant activity with much coming and going of ideas. The duvet symbolised security or a cover-up... finding the duvet on the wall may denote no security or feeling unsure of yourself... as it is on a wall, it represents your obstacles, limitations, boundry or protection. Wall represent mental limits, barriers, prejudices, obstinancy, fixed thinking or old habit patterns which obstruct your thinking and understanding abilities. Hope this sheds some light on the dream xox
that is excellent mrp thank you !!
oh jilli!! reality is just awful! I am sorry you still greive!!
west - white duvet means success where failure is feared.
it's ok, mrp
you are just beautiful jilli... sorry you are alone ...
it makes sense now mrp
me too, mrp -- thanks.
I mean I'm sorry too
oh good west! glad I could help you through that
jilli my dad went quietly in his sleep good for him bad for us
but I don't dwell on it
west, I'd like to do that too
I think we all would
you betcha!
I've been meaning to ask you jilli, how long have you been on Salt Spring Island?
I've been here for that 15 years, west. Hubby went to that permanent sleep the evening after we put the offer in on this house. We had already sold the place in the Montreal area. Luckily this happened when we were staying with his brother here and he and my sis-in-law were a great help.
my goodness sorry he never got to enjoy it
oh jilli! so so sorry!
I had to pack up the big place and move here within 2 months.
since our oldest daughter has decided to move to Seattle we'll probably be out that way one day
you are one strong lady jilli... luv ya
what a predicament but good you had to keep busy
Yes -- when we looked at the plce he saw the lovely view from the bedroom window and said "Imagine waking up to this every morning!" He never did.
that was his gift to you
he made sure you were alright jilli... a gift indeed!
That and many other intangibles. But we had so many plans, such as driving down the west coast and exploring it...no fun alone.
Anyway, such is life and we go on and make a new way.
so true
so so sad, i feel sorrow for you jilli, but know you have luv around you
I want to be jilli and to hell with duvets lol
Life is pretty good (except for that damned lost purse, lol!)
you need to dream that it has been returned
jilli how far are you from Seattle?
It's really scary and I wake myself up
not so scary in real life big hassle but it can all be replaced
Not far in miles, west, but it's an hour and a half ferry ride plus another 35 minute ferry ride plus half an hour to get to the ferry and half an hour to get there in time to ensure getting on it, plus maybe missing the connection and waiting another two hours, plus driving about an hour on the mainland to get there, lol!
but it's a lot closer than Rhode Island
did you see that our daughter is moving there?
no west -- moving where? to SEattle?
yes Seattle so I imagine we'll be going out there to visit one of these days
Well, there's another way -- taking a float plane to Vancouver directly from here (25 minutes) and then the drive to Seattle -- and the reverse. So if you go to visit her you could come and see Salt Spring and stay here.
My guest room awaits...
we'd love that jilli but I think the ferry trek sounds more fun
and the same goes for you if you ever come back east
The ferries are great.
I think we wouldn't want to leave
Come and see!
But RI is pretty nice, I hear. I loved New England.
the best part of Babble is reading about all the places people live
The Babble community is most of the reason I keep coming back
this is definitely one of the best places on the web
Darn -- the word for an Austalian accent doesn't count ("Strine")
great word
My mother had two Australian cousins -- it always amused her that one was a "Pommy" and the other spoke Strine.tauri
what's a Pommy?
hello all - could I please have the stats for the M and the O
hi ursh the m is mu 5/16 and the o is on 5/14
mrp could tell you, but it's an Austalian who sounds like a posh Brit, as they say.
Hi ursh
ah I have a friend in Perth who was born in England and she says she talks like that
I've never actually heard her of course
someone pls clue the on5 thx
thinking van not easy
I know I emptied the brain already

something strange, I need one word and I need 33 pts, but there is no 33 pt word
very strange, vanilla
I'll just have to go through Lickety again later
I pay no attention to points or rankings
ok but I need 133 words for fireworks and I like to get that

the woman who tends to my garden lives in a yu4/7

Goodnight, jullibus.
hi and nbt
evening all :)
good morning. Is anybody still here from Canada? The Tour de France starts today and I am rooting for Hesjedal who comes from BC
{{mrp}}
hi ruby!! **hugs**
don't tell me any tennis results from semi-finals at wimbledon please~
how are you today dearest!?
mrp are you a cadel evans fan?
well, I think so... he has won for australia
I don't tend to watch the Tour de France, but I do watch for the results!
they are just all hot!
it is my favorite sporting event and it is also a tour of France, so is very lovely
I have seen the scenery and it is amazing!!
and exciting too!
a couple of years ago, it came past my house, did the individual time trial around "our" lake and it was fabulous
past your house!!! fabulous!
unfortunately, it was a downhill portion, so they didn't show my street, but did show the whole village
good morning all
{{sprite}}
morning sprite :)
are you watching the Tour this year?
hey gals :D Good company to start my day with.
as usual, Rabobank has a good team but won't win :(
I won't be, I am still catching up on tennis! Do not tell me results of anything!!!
sprite, you have email
mrP, thanks for the email! Very informative. I emailed you back. *hugs*
I put a lot of energy into trying to decipher it all... I hope you are ok with it??
your welcome sprite!
yes I am, very much so. Really appreciate it!
and yes, Jolanda is just a mouthpiece for your father in my opinion
she seemed like nothing to me anyway
yes, nothing more. She had no 'feeling' of importance either in my dream.
good, I read that correctly then!
and how are things at the rubyfoo household today?
sunny and cool, cool on all levels :D
ruby is all excited about men in tighty bikey panties!!
hehehe cool is good!
I thought tr6/30 was a science fiction movie word
but tried it anyway
Day of the Tr****s
lol I was just wondering what kind of word tw5/20 was and what must have moved me to try it.
If I ever see one, I am leaving the planet!!
it is a s/f movie, that is for sure. But I think the word must have had meaning before then.
I monkeyed tw5 haha
looked it up, means divided into three parts
disappointed today... my games were cancelled... I didn't get to do my three hours of running! waaahhh
yay, half
ok, yes, it means cleft into 3 parts or lobes. So the name has been derived from the word.
aw poor mrP. Well, maybe it is time to take things a little easier ;)
and that 3 hours of exercise and concentration includes lot's of hot men in shorts!! darn it!!
did the aliens have 3 heads? never saw the movie
mrp is obsessed with the outfits; ruby is obsessed with the colors!
no they don't. They are kind of walking plants. They have 3 'rootlegs' on which they move.
three legs
i just luv a soccer player!! especially in warm up!
the weeds in my garden must be walking because they appear to be taking over!
you will have to look at lickety's not at all untasty legs then, mrP :)
no shirt.... sweaty... perfect view of my favourite part of the male body... uuuuuuuhhhhhh!
lickety stopped playing sprite!! I am choked up about it!
jeezzz I suddenly remember the times when we joked about lickety's package, mrP ;)
hahaha !!!!
aw that is sad. Why has he stopped?
I am choking laughing!!
oh no! my sister keeps sending me newspaper headlines about packages....
cause the club he was with screwed him and me badly last december, after 6 years with them!!
luv a package!!
lol yes, brilliant. Rubyfoo, when lickety had to make moderations to the stats, we said he was adjusting his package. And I offered to help.
I'm too old..... :(
just fell off my chair, sprite
he had no idea what was coming!!
I had never heard that usage before the "wiener" incidents
not old at all then, rubyfoo, grin
lol no, it was bad and soooo good. But am sad about the club, mrP. That hurts. Good for him though to quit them.
well, when a man says he is adjusting his package... and he is a geeky dork dweeb... he deserved it! cause he is also gorgeous!! and naive!
he felt like a million dollars after that sprite... thinks all the girls luv him now!
time to leave this fair group! see you all much later, 75 words so far
see ya darling ruby!
*poof*
well here on babble we do :) Lickety is a good one.
bye rubyfoo, have a good day
{{big smooches for mrp and sprite}}
any surprises in my dream reading sprite!!??
***kisses*** back to ruby!!
yes, the different parts of the car, I never heard that before. Very interesting.
yes, those details are important!
I would have liked to have known what animal your sister was holding
and the bookshelves too.
mrP, I don't really know. It was something between a dog and a cat. But not domesticated, although it was tamed.
yes, I figured tame, so wrote it into the interpretation
I didn't care if it was a wolf, a badger, a penguin.... you said it was kind and smart
yes, and that fi4 very well with the rest of the dream.
cool... am glad
the bookshelves was important
your interpretation is a great addition to my own, I am very happy with it. Thanks again for taking all this trouble.
destroying things is very empowering, and what you destroy shows deeply what you are hurt by
it is ok sprite... I even got additional help from another reader.
she had some good insights too
tell her thanks for me, please
i will sweetie... I loved your ancient tree view of yourself... so so true!!
that was a very powerful moment in the dream, yes. Very nice to feel!
I believe you are all those things!! take them and run with them!!
I will. You know what Young always said about dreams: 'Dreams are letters from God. And most people throw them away unopened."
oh no!! so so sad... I luv dreams and read them regularly
it really helps us to see through the bulls**t
yes so do I. They tell a lot about ourselves and our process.
one a sideline: if I try 'setup' one more time, please kick me.
one = on*
*positioning the foot*... to the fender?? or side of car?
LOL!
were you satisfied with the opening statement of my reading? telling you about who the people meant first??
yes, that was helpful. And doing that first makes the rest of the reading more clear, so I think that was the right way to go about it.
oh good! I didn't want to explain it all during the reading... that would have been confusing to me too
hey, that funny ya verb from yesterday is here again. And now I know it. Babble student graduation!
the ya is a babblet!
I automatically type it in now
lol great
I want twifi to be a word!!
looks like one to me, so you have my vote
'it is twifi to have good friends!'
a shortening of terrific
works for me
I am making that word viral!! LOL
yp
that was an aborted attempt to make something from yup
like.... you are twifi sprite!!
aw I like it!
abort, abort, abort!! I still got it though! LOL!
:D
remove needles = depin, right?
and taking away someone's beer...
I am with you there in inventing new words from the grid land. Enable isn't buying though.
unpin is the word though
yeah but un- isn't possbile today :(
detrip... take away the ability to travel
well, at least we have all the vowels represented today... unlike the other day with 6 e's!!
lol yes and with an S inserted it is to take away the ability to undress in a sexy manner
it was an eeeieio grid!!
eeeeieio !!
eeeeeieio! Daylight comes and I wanna go ho-ome...
hahaha !!!
do you do that ?? I do... I misunderstand words in songs and completely sing them wrong!!
oh man I have 53 left and I really cannot see where they might hide, lol.
my friend made me laugh so hard.... we have an aussie band with a song 'cheap wine and a three day growth'... guess what she sings??
what did she sing?
'cheap wine and a three legged goat' !!!
roflollllll
roflmao !!
yes I do that too. Like in 'I love you, most of all - I love you, Mo Stoffel (stoffel being the name of an extremely slow turtle in a famous children's TV series) And "Tell it to her plain - tell it to her plane" But a friend of mine had the best of all: "You're the devil in disguise - you're the devil in the skies."
I am going to have to go look up all the funny bunny ones!!
Funny one I heard....little girl hears Kings of Leon "your sex is on fire", asks mum what it is, mum says "no, no they're singing "your socks are on fire"...quick thinking, Mum!
we have this music to dance on in sacred dance, which is in some language I do not know at all, like russian. A friend of mine once pointed out that at one point they sing "milkshake" and "melkdieet" (last word means a diet with only milk). We can never keep a straight face anymore when we dance that one.
woooot wtg mum! And hi liz :)
Hi
I submit 'trion' for the 1st time someone attempts a threesome ;)
hi lizm!!
threesome!! well tickle my.....
*grins*
oooh, it is balloon day! will go create something
oh nice :)
ok, changed icon to balloon!!
will create in a while... am about to see a friend out.
aw lovely one!
nah, she decided to stay... same lady that helped with the reading... I told her thank you and she said you are very welcome!
:) Friends are the best in life.
and we are so lucky to have ours!! :)
sprite, I am very happy we are friends! thank you... you make a big difference in my life
aw shucks! *hug* dear friend, we've come a long way, haven't we :)
she will log in soon... terri1 is her monika
indeed! so many years and so many people... amazing really
hah, great name, almost a Terra ;)
terra the superdog!
best dog in the whole wi4 world. Not that I am biased or anything.
just like my vixie!!
:)
terri got a new puss cat... called it Echo... it now has three names, Echo Ninja Monster!! LOL
hehehe and welldeservedly so, I bet
I have 6 holes in my feet!! that little bugger luvs to bite my toes!!
toes are irresistable for little cats.
and ankles, and heels.... ouch!!
15 left... giving in... sneaking a peak at lickety's well-adjusted package.
tr
tr's are peeving me... I should be able to see them!! missing three
hahaha!! go sprite!!
let me see, I am missing 2, I'll help.
Lickety says his package is still growing and getting stronger... you will see it soon!
ah, one is a superlative.
awwwww! Promises promises, lol
ah, got the tr's now
was having a brain fart!
good! I miss one now
here comes terri!!
got it
hi guys hope you are all well
hi terri! **hugs**
hi terri, welcome to the babble madness and thank you for your help on the dream symbols
i am well, well fed and being plied with alcohol!! thank you!
G'day sprite hope you didnt mind me reading about your dream. Very detailed and interesting
we both felt for you sprite
no I really appreciate it. Lots of valuable information added. I can work with it and I will.
and wanted to make sure it was an accurate measure of your dream
Thanks sprite
aw mrP, I am ok, I really am. Things were bad back then, but I have worked through most of it and am much stronger now. As this dream shows too :)
well that is fireflies for me. Thanks to licikety and his impressive package ;) Bye all, thanks for the great company. MrP *hugs* and you and terri both thanks again.
see ya sprite **hugs**! have a good day
aw li'l Echo is a sweetie :)
you will overcome all obstacles sprite, I know it
Thanks sprite *hugs* things are looking very positive for you
indeed they are! you are one strong lady
Yes Echo is sweetie until he bites your ankle! But he is learning to curb his appetite for ankles and toes.
he has obviously got great taste... in my feet!
++++++++/.
darn cat!!
LOL !!!

hallooooooooooooooooo
hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii iiiiiiiiiii
coooeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Stuck on the n......
does that hurt?
Only when I laugh
we had these words yesterday.
No kidding Kap, I'm having major deja vu.
I don't see why we can't shake the babble letters more.
I think someone at Mission Control has gotten lazy.
DrG does it on purpose - lulls you into thinking you can do it easily for days on end - then hits you with an impossible one
He sits there and plots each letter?
So much for all those claims that these grids are random.
absolutely - didn't you know?
I wonder how many days in advance he plans them.
Maybe we're supposed to have toea 8 times a month, and crwth once a year.
not far - one Christmas a few years ago we ran out!!
I am now picturing Dr. God, alone, in a room littered with empty Mountain Dew cans and beef jerky wrappers, laughing maniacally as he plots out each grid.
Ran out of letters?
Yep - well - grids anyway
Now picturing the Babble page, with nothing on it but: SORRY - RAN OUT OF GRIDS
Hi all. Do you think Dr God reads the chog?
Sorry, ran out of letters. Grid only half full.
Dr God reads chog and sees little sparrow fall.
lol
hi Hydra. No
Dr God knows our innermost thoughts.
Hi lynxxx
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.
I sincerely hope he doesn't know mine, Kaplan!
Any help with n words??
ni4/5 x 3
ni4/4 x 2

Morning Annie
Hi there, Molly :)
31 to go. I don't have my Babble Expert on this computer though.
Kap, if that N were an M we would have a Jewish holiday. : D
Of the o were an a we would have a cat food.
and so on.
hi all...is this deja vu..i feel like we have had a number of grids at the 133 word already in the last couple weeks
morning Carlee
this observation has been duly noted.
evening lynxxx :)

It's Groundhog's Day! (Again)
yesterday I make a comment about having to cut down some John Wyndem plants in my front yard ... there are fireworks in the sky last night ... and the plants show up in the grid this morning ... scary!
Thanks for the clue Dose!
I noticed that Babbler was in the grid, but didn't extend it out.

I'm on my way carlee
hmmm..taking out chicken from freezer... i have to buy a few things later at grocery store to make it happen but i can start defroting chicken
Goodnight all

Good morning everyone
hi bob
Happy Saturday and good morning everyone
morning mom
((Carlee)) good morning
how are you today mum?
I am just fine, thanks and you?
i'm good....am mustering up the git up and go ( that seems to have left without me ) to get the mountain of laundry i have here... done...
I understand, my git up and go got up and went
I am roasting a turkey today and making cookies.
i did however get all my dishes washed
excellent, that is a step in the right direction
i was going to do this chicken dish..but then i realised its not what i want..i need a slowcooker recipe i can start now...asit is supposed to reach a humididex of 41 here today
( that is 106 f and i dont have a/c )
oh my gosh, Carlee. I hope you have fans
i have fans and the lake
but we still need to eat..and i want something yummy for dinner in the slowcooker ( not beef)
we are going up to 90 degrees today but the humidity is going to make it feel much warmer
definitely you don't want to turn on the oven then
hello...clue for the tr7? I am stumped
hello Phaeton, I don't have it but will help you look
nm found it
good deal!
i kept forgetting there are 3 T's
i am lookin gup slow cooker recipes..but none of them..seem to ..fit the bill so to speak...
... tr7 ... the most tr5
( I am not one fo these people who likes "one thing" on the plate...its got to have rice / potato and a couple of other veggies..and slow cooker stuff..is either stew...or...a blob of... something or other
trip
I take a roast potatoes and carrots with some beef broth or stock in the slow cooker
or I will make spaghetti sauce in it as well
thanks Doseffing, I will go look, and good morning
we had spaghetti earlier this week..and i did beef curry...
good morning Mama, what an entrance :-)
( she couldhae at least posted a word that i didnt have :( )
I have never done chicken in the slow cooker so I don't have any recipes for that
oh i have a few....try skinless chicken breasts ( cut up into piese so falls apart easier )...and cook with bbq sauce..and to twice baked potatoes..loaded... and then spoon the chicken over top..serve with salad and broccoli
or...a bunch of chicken legs..with lipton onion soupl mix and brown sugar..and some chicken brother...cook the crap out of it..sweet and sour chicken
broth* even
chicken legs .....yuck
( they are cheap..right now..cheap works int his house )
then there chicken ala king..in the slow cooker...
I did make chicken enchaladias (sp) on Monday. I can't eat them but the kids and sweetie loved them
or turkey ( turkey has more flavour so i generally do turkey leftovers )
Cheap works good in this house too ..... bought chicken breast tenderloins for 1.99/lb. this week
we will tons of turkey after today, ship some to the kids and will have plenty for sandwiches and ala king
well..the legs were on for .99 a pound..i got 12 legs for 2.99
legs are never that cheap here
no meat is
that will feed 4...cant beat that...with some rice..and a frozen veggie
*will have
made (heated) a Birdseye frozen Brown and wild rice with brocoli and carrots. Sweetie said it was excellent
meat has gotten really expensive here..suffice to say i have been eating alot of eggs of late...body craving protien..but not getting it from meat
we dont have birdseye here
made a bean salad the other day too..more protein...
hmmm, would have thought Birdseye would be every where
and more fiber
I had better scoot and get the turkey in the oven so I can get it done and bake the cookies
((hugs)) to all of you.
Mom, it's amazing what is here and what isn't in Canada and vice versa. My husband was very disappointed that we have no Kraft Peanut Butter (if you can dig that)
enjoy mum..have a great day
((Carlee)) thanks for the food ideas. I hope something strikes your fancy for supper
no kraft????
me too... me too mum
Never heard of it until Dan got here.
((Molly)) agreed. Also surprised that England doesn't have graham crackers
( mind i only use skippy lite when making peanut butter cups )
hmmm Kraft peanut butter. Wonder if it taste like Jif
Digestive biscuits Mom (why that name I'll never know)
canada has both graham and <covering molls ears> digestives
I heard of the digestive biscuits
( they are easy to digest...)
off I go ..... xxx
Makes them sound like a laxative. Bye Mom, have a good day.
any slow cooker ideas molls?
I only do really standard stuff. Pulled pork barbecue, pot roast, etc. Anything you put onion soup mix in is a home run in my book.
<sigh> nothing is sounding appealing... i am in a food funk...
July is use up the frozen meat month for me. I try to keep a six month limit on what I freeze. Defrosting pork tenderloin to have in a sauce over noodles.
i cant do pork....
:(
( when i did...we used to make a nice buttery sage dressing..and slice the tenderloin lengthwise..and stuff... cut into medalians when served..was one of my most favs )
Pulled beef barbecue is just as good.
Oh, you meant the tenderloin. I don't use my slow cooker much in the summer.
yes..with the pork tenderloin
well..will feel like 106 today... and i dont have a/c...so i dont want to turn on my oven..and the bbq is still at old house....so....i ned to slowcook something or other...and get it strted soon
That beef recipe with the spaghetti sauce mix and coke is always a hit with my clan.
I don't see how I could have a slow-cooker if I am a fast eater..personally...
Har-dee-har Ru. You're in the grid again. wi4. : P
spaghetti sauce and coke? ugh
taking some chicken out of freezer....mabybe a creamy chicken something or other...then throw pasta in later...hmm..chicken and shrimp in a cream sauce..over rice???
Far too plebeian for your high falutin' cooking style Ru.
I'll say
its going to be a make it up as we go along dish me thinks
Those are always the best.
do creamy chicken, peas, taters, and carrots carlee
do you have any slow cooking recipes with Mountain Dew Molly?
Oh aren't you the funny one. Go put some more balsamic vinegar on your kiwi. : P
LOL
i have peas... i dont have carrots atm...but i want to do over rice..am rather sick to death of taters...mind i do have baby taters in the fridge
taters add texture to slow cooking
so..for some reason i had a bit of a flood in my laundry room...gotta figure out where the ealk coming from..so started another load...
You people are making me really hungry!!!!!
but taters in sauce over rice is kida redundant to my way of thinking
food porn
yes./. that's true
then do.. chicken, peas, celery, cream, and onion
kinda* even
Big time Carlee
What kind of hoses do you have from the water source to the washer? Good chance if they are rubber, it's one of those. I had to switch to the metal mesh.
chicken..peas and onion..my kids gag over texture of celery...
jeez us
no idea....but the washtub was plugged....sooo...
( its a concrete floor..i cant hurt it...)
It all sounds good to me. yum :-9
ruru....my kids are way better than their father..but both green peppers and celery..the texture make them gag....what can u do..rubbery egg white makes me gag...
except for the coke/spaghetti thing
gone to see if leaking
that's a lot of gagging over there carlee
yes indeed ruru
the chicken and shrimp with peas and onion...in a cream sauce... should be yummy ( I can start with a can of cream of mushroom soup..add thyme...and lots of fresh ground pepper..
ok, cant sleep, back for a little more
Hi mrp. They're going to make you hungry.

good morning everyone:)
(((MRP)))
am sitting in front of a fire, doing puzzles, drinking wine and contemplating bedtime
check your filters on the hoses carlee ,,they could be plugged on the exit
( i have sour cream..and various seasoning packets...am thinking a chicken stroganoff ...ish...something or other with the shrimp and peas..will be fine with rice... )
problem is when you get your day off you have to catch up on the mess your children have made
ah...crossy... he returns
hi crossy!!! **hugs**
Hi Crossy!
howdy hego
I am jealous of Mr P. Too early for wine here. :-(
morning crossy
updated my profile for you girls and guys... enjoy the "desperate housemates of babble" !! LOL!
after midnight here.... into Sunday morning. have reasonably timed games tomorrow so can sleep in!! :)
Mr Pres have you seen the playskool advert for the elephant thing?

( hehehe..his ears are FINALLY standing up..but are crossed as they are soooo big )
puppy used to be wriggly..but at 48 pounds..not so wriggly anymore ruru - but i caught the pun... cute
oh no... just about the Mole... all quiet now, but for how long?? she will be livid when she gets the visit from vice
yes..she will... oh well...what goes around comes around...
this grid is ..boring....its jsut not a fun one...
oh, and low and behold!! I saw her brother-in-law today... he came up to me and gave me a hug! I should have text messaged her that she needs to get a lawyer cause her family likes me and approaches me still!
take pics :p
plenty of witnesses.... plenty!
I hope this is over for you soon mr p..
she thinks she is the queen of sheebah!! "Do not speak to my family or friends ever again!!" ummmm, get stuffed!
ruuster! **hugs**
sounds to me mrp, like a different town might be in order...about 2000 miles from this one
it will be over after the middle of september... then we move, just a few blocks over to the 'normal' side of the suburb. Hillbillie Ave is proving too much on me
I hear that
well mrp..something i have learned ... even tho the adage is popular..."thou dost protest too much"..really does hold true... the police try hardest to nab a suspect on the weakest of cases ( ie..the right to remain silent....using coersion etc to get a statement of so me kind) and this sounds like that with her too...
Well I am going to bed.
crossy, I would, but it isn't conducive to my children's education. I stay, I fight, I win, I pray
night herin..
nite nite herin
she is making too much noise...
niters herin... sleep tight
night or day peoples
she is a total embarassment to that family... it is amazing really!
well...then..let her fry herself within her family...never speak ill of her with her family..but make sure they find out..somehow what is going on
she can carry her flagpole and sing her anthem all she likes, she has no hope of getting me. However, her best friend owns our house that we live in... and they have indicated we will be moving due to a sale.
I call that a welcome blessing really
yeap....exactly...find something you love...
indeed carlee
a house is a house... its not a h ome until you make it such..my old place lost the h"home" feelign when the neighbours all turned on me as i was the bitch who turfed out the cripple ( none of them knew how poorly i was treated in that home or if they did....turned a blind eye to it all for keeping the peace )
this house is my HOME....
and he is NOT allowed in...nor are the bitch neighbours...
( defrosting the chicken the fast way...)
morning, all! trying to think of the fastest way to defrost a chicken - doesn't involve rocket fuel, does it?
Hi Sue
Microwave defrost?
Blowtorch?
sink of hot water
Soak in hot water?
sink of lukewarm water does best
I read an article once about a bunch of guys trying to come up with ever faster ways of lighting the barbecue - one set wound up with liquid oxygen rocket fuel and incinerated the whole thing in a matter of seconds
it was pretty funny, actually.
hahaha... that is soemthing u would see on mythbusters...
but perhaps I need a bit of coffee before I am really thinking straight...
sounds like a guy idea
lol we are all still in awe of you guys deep frying turkeys lol
coffee...me wants more...toddles off to kitchen again
( i cannto imagine deep fried turkey....i like stuffing and gravy way too much ...and the smell of turkey in the oven...)
indeed
it's supposed to make it really nice and tender but the process is really dangerous - it has to be TOTALLY defrosted first or you can set the whole thing on fire quickly
Let's hear it for ovens!!
and I agree about the smell of roasting turkey, and the taste of stuffing that's been baked inside - they tell us for safety now that you are supposed to bake the stuffing separately but I don't think anyone actually does that
Brining a turkey makes it nice and tender. I'll never mess with deep frying one. And agreed, the whole fun of having a turkey is the roasting smell in the house.
brining is excellent
uh, brining
I like deep frying but the peanut oil is way too expensive.
It's amazing we all aren't dead from all that stuffing roasted in the turkey. : P
Peanut oil is the only thing I will fry in. Hence we have fried food very seldom.
if you take it out right away it won't hurt you Molly
well..i soak mine in wine...for 24 hours...inside and out...one would think that kills some of the bacteria????
I was kidding Hego, I always take the stuffing out right away. Why leave it in? It's to be eaten.
mine comes out right away too...
Um, how much wine do you soak it in?
Right Molly
Lots
Halfway. BBL
my turkey gets a whole bottle of sauv blanc to itself... i swish it inside..and lay it in a bath of it overnight..then i just stuff..and bak..in the wine it soaked in overnight
Damn, I baste mine in white wine and butter and I find that a terrible waste of wine.
molls..i end up with more than a L of gravy..i often still have gravy when the stuffing is all gone...and oh man..kick ass gravy
( no butter..just the stuffing..and wine )
i baste myself in wine and the turkey gets basted un butter lol
bummer - one of the keys on my laptop doesn't work. It's in the grid, too. bummer.
sorry, distracted again!! Sorry you went through that carlee, but know exactly how it is!!
my stuffing has butter in it... and chopped mushrooms... onion ( finely chopped celery to avoid the kids gag factor )...lots and lots of sage...and a bit of nutmeg... and celery salt...
Hmm...not a wine drinker.
on ya crossy!! you know the secret to gourmet cooking!
that sucks sue....
butter and bacon..he is good to go....likely lays bacon over his turkey..and has bacon in his stuffing too
oh usue, pull it off, clean it out and get it back to work
Nutmeg in gravy...never heard of that...not sure I'd care for that flavor in gravy.
(notice my priorities here)
I can do that on a laptop? I've pulled keys off regular keyboards before but the laptop makes me nervous
not in the gravy..in the stuffing..just a smidgeon
well, I use a nail file... but don't do it unless you feel confident
oh.my coffee is ready ...duh..and i can flip laundry too..woot woot
oh man! I need to sleep so I can work tomorrow... 10.30 start. will try and get in 6 hours anyway
actually i make a sausages stuffing
I have pretty good fingernails but the key is not coming off and I don't want to force it
anyway, get some sleep, mrp, and take care!!!!!!!!!!!!!
start/all programs/accesability..there is a screen kb there forjust such emergencies
see ya all :) enjoy your day/nite and see you at flip time!! will do carlee! still have a way to go with my flu, but able to travel now and live on less drugs :))
j <- ok, that works :-)
bye all! *poof*
nite ntie mrp..dream sweet
I made chestnut stuffing one Christmas for a goose - it was wonderful!
i love goose...
they are bloody $$$$$$ wanted one this past year...a little 16 pound bird was 78.00
gotta get duck again soon..my kidsloved it when i made it..
there are hundreds of geese right outside my office window.....hmmm.....
well...go git urself one sue :p
Duck and goose are too greasy for me.
i put them up on a rack inside the pan and i stuff with whole potatoes...the potatoees soak up the grease..and i pitch them out...
hello all,Iam typing onmarigolds laptop
I don't llike laptops, will look for a new desktop later today
hi, peri!
Hi to my fellow babblers! How is everyone doing today
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
hi, min!
Hi uusue2! My timing seems to be impeccable lately. I always enter into an desolate chog. Glad you're here.
sorry..am back
I'm not sorry you're back. : D
Hello carleekat! How are you doing? Welcome back to chog. Were your here earlier like at 7:00 this morning
LOL MollyL! Me too!
I am itinerant, min, catching up with email as well as babbling
I may have been minver...i can rememebr...been toddling in and out..abck and forth
{{molls}}
Good word Sue. I'm itinerant too. Doing stuff in the kitchen and watching a movie as well as dropping in and out of here.
stinky words left...
I woke up really early&babbled silently for a half hour.
What do they smell like carleekat?
I just found a stinky word myself. Quite a few today.
M's Mushed! 7 left
just starting here (with the help of my on-screen keyboard as my j key has died); I usually try to stretch the puzzle so it lasts into the evening
It is a good thing J isn't used alot in the grids uusue2.
I do that. Always save my last word until later at nite
However, I need to finish early today since I'm going to a pool party for most of the day.Would also like to do a story of clues before I goto the party if possible.
my desktop computer died several months ago and I have been using my laptop instead as I didn't want to spend the money to replace it; I don't want to have to spend any money on the laptop now.
O's Ousted! 6 left
hmmm - I think my internet connection is weird too, as the little clock sometimes goes to saying "less than one minute left" and then anything I type in the chat box disappears
I SO understand what you mean uusue2! Hubby and I fight over laptop time and I would like to get another laptop, but do not want to spend the money on it now
although refreshing the screen seems to have brought back at least one of my disappeared posts...
I was having trouble adding words when I babbled b-4
and..finished... yay
Congratulations carleekat on fireworks! Good for you
thanks minver
yay, carlee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!
thanks sue
ok..toddling off for a bit...
toodles
bye!
Goodbye carleekat! I will see you later on in the chog
and I am off for a bit myself as I now have nbt. see you later!
Goodbye uusue2! I will see you later on in the chat log
just passing thru..hello
My father used to make a fabulous roast goose...have a hankering it make it, I will put it on a rack too to get rid of much of the fat...putting potatoes inside to catch the fat is genius
Just scrolled back, it was carlee's suggestion, thanks, will keep that in mind...going to make a roast goose when it gets cooler

Hi Minver
yw
Hello Anniebrook! I have not seen you here in awhile.
Hi Minver, I am always missing you. Nice to see you today.
i have seen you but i generally lurk nowadays
I lurk more than I used to also. I must start to get ready. Bye dear babbblers. Have a great time at the pool party, both of you.
so yesterday it was supposed to be 97F and humid but only got to 85F; today it is supposed to be 88F but is already 90F and climbing. I already used up my too-hot-to-go-outside ideas yesterday!! Now what?
Goodbye Anniebrook! Have fun at your pool party too
hi and bye, annie, pool would be nice today!
lst pr 5/12 plz
bye annie and all
pr 5/12 is pr plus a charged particle ivesy3 and hello.

argh i am pulling my hair out for last tr word
and now before i head to work and roast in this nasty heat,i leave you with crossys tidbit of the day:)
In early 1900s America, “jay†was a slang term used to describe a naïve or foolish person. Thus, when such a pedestrian decided to ignore traffic signals and street signs, he was referred to as a “jaywalker.â€
k
min do you have the last pr5? i could use some help
We are up in Canada and have gone all the way across the US to be up in British Columbia for a wedding this afternoon. We definitely do not have the heat. I will carry a jacket for this afternoon's event which is up on a peak in Manning Provincial Park. Happy belated Canada Day to all!
over 90f here today..take care all and happy babbling...poink!
same here, crossy!!
i need clues for both ap6 ad at6?
hi, cos! don't have either one but it is nice to see you :-)
hi :) how are you?
hot.
its weird. i woke up and the place was freezing (we do not have a/c) but then i went outside and it was really hot outside. idk why it was cold in here
at6 - think of a wide open lobby type space
and bummed that the j key on my laptop isn't working - I have the virtual keyboard up but that is a nuisance
thanks ds9 didnt see that last vowel in the grid :)
thx, DS!
ugh yeah my desktop keyboard the q wont work so i had to take off the key and use a pen to push into it for it to work lol
desktop keyboards are easier to work on, though
woo hoo found my first 7... fi
ah ur using a laptop?
yeah, my desktop died a few months ago and I didn't want to spend the $$$ to replace it
yeah. i can relate
prefer laptop. Mine is broken though.
i prefer laptops too.. we just got rid of our desktop
so much more room in the bedroom now
red screen of death here
and big chat lag
I have trouble with desktops because of ergonomics- I have a severe crimp in my trapezius muscle
ah, finally got to add a word or two!
ap6 --- ap + another word for exam/quiz
thx, cos!
yw :)
thx for the fi words also, I didn't have them yet
is that tion combo really for naught?
could be, kap...
brb
Pastrini could be a combination of pastrami and linguini.
sounds tasty!!
I think I could be onto a new dining sensation.
Except I don't eat meat.
I have been mostly avoiding it myself but it still sounds tasty.
It's a Jewish Italian thing. I'll have the pastrini.
and taurini would be a very bullish sort of pasta...
back.. and just found the ni6/7 and ni 7/8 yay
Alctually there is no pastrimi in the grid
Pastrami has lots of ni6's
I mean 7
I noticed that but decided not to mention it.
Polite of you.
thx, kap! now have nbs :-)
let me hang out to dry, did you?
I prefer to regard it as a polite overlooking.
If I had spinach on my teeth, would you tell me?

Hi Sue, what are you up to this holiday weekend?
hi, molly, mostly relaxing and trying to stay cool (or at least not too hot)
so how do you find out which words' you missed?
Click on Lickety's Babble Clues near the bottom of the page.
Hi, annie! If you click on "Lickety's Babble Clues" (under the puzzle; open it in a new window) it will give you a list of all the words.
thanks molly
at the bottom of that page there is a box where you can paste all the words you have found; then you can see which ones you are missing
help ........... I have three t's that are driving me crazy..... tr6/30 -5/10 - 7/28 arrrrrgh
tr6.30 Old SciFi - The Day Of The Tr****s (drop one of the double cons in the proper spelling)

What about them snags?
I found lots of hints in the resources box.
I must be missing some boxes lol
clue for the ap6/21 please
lol
are u using babble expert?
I think snags is referring to the boxes in Babble Expert, which is a program you can get from Lickety.
ohhhhhhhh ty Ill go back to minding my own business here :)
wht, do u use the expert??
although clearly i need get babble expert
noooooooo sadie
i put the zip on my desktop

Yes, I do snags. I like it because it puts words in the grid and into Lickety's list at the same time.
i do like this set up i play with now
you are correct and I need to figure out how to use it.. duh and, when you go into the resources page, how do you get back out of there without having to leave babble...........
Don't have teh ap6, snags
no
I don't wht
So, if you go to resources and click on MoreWords, it opens a panel on the right that hides the chat.
If you click on the yellow bar with the triangles on it to the left of morewords, it shows the chat again.
morewords is at the bottom of this page
click the bar, and Morewords comes back.
That is the resource I use most often.
Snags, this is when I am using Expert.
i use more words open a seperate window i have this down to a fine art form hehe
lol I too use morewords on a seperate window.
any clues for the fi6/27 pls?
Less than forever, Magyk
thank you wht
yw
ty for the clue
These 6's will be the end of me...
Can I get a clue for the M?
mu5/16-think mice
ty, Magyk, but I don't know what that has to do with mice, other than making them go away.
Be right back. Storm is coming and my chickens are out!
You're quite welcome, wht.
OK, I googled it. I don't know the families of flora and fauna very well.
That gave me nbt and now 48 left.
snags, just found the ap6, it is the most fitting.
most fitting?
st6/21? the last one?
Old fashion pt of the st5 before it.
Magyk, yes, the best choice, the best suited for a task.
Oh ok. Thank you for both, wht!
do you have the st6,21 before the thin line?
yes
Could you give me a clue?
Yes, of course. Think of walking.
evening babblers. I have not started, should I?
Go ahead, red. It is a smallish grid and not too bad.
Well, OK!
nyone have big 4th of july plans?
not me just going out back and watch fireworks in park behind house :)
what are you planning?
Sounds good! Nothing here, I thought I was going to have to work. But might see some Fireworks...if we have them..
Did that help, wht?
We will go into Boston and listen to the Pops and watch the fireworks there.
oooh wht, that is nice! I remember a few 4ths watching it on television with my parents! never actually been to Boston which is sad.
i would love to go and listen to the pops that sounds like a nice evening
but I likely will listen to them on tv
It does, especially somewhere where it is nice to sit outside...
We will go sit on the Cambridge side of the river. They have speakers set up there so we can hear the concert and the firworks barges are right in front of us.
I like Tanglewood and Wolftrap. Florida lacks these sorts of things.
Now that the show is televised, there are these long gaps in the concert for the comercials.
Is there a lot of traffic involved in doing that Wht?
gee i always thought they just kept playing
that is no fun wht, we always saw it on PBS.
We take the subway.
The trip back is not for the claustrophobic.
Ah, we have that option here in the DC area too. However the subway cars are like sardine cans.
I've heard complaints that the metro only uses AC on 1 of 3 cars...
It is worth it to us because fireworks on TV just do not match being there in person and feeling the explosions in your chest.
I've just heard that recently. I don't take the subway much, but I've never been in a car with no AC. I'm quite sure I would faint. I can't stand anyplace where the air doesn't move.
I think it would def be worth it.
me either molly
Wow Molly, you would hate me. I have no air on in the house right now at all, but there is the ceiling fan.
<--- Is claustrophobic and stays away from crowded subway cars.
We have been doing it for years now.
Fans are fine, they move the air. It's that closed up, no air moving feeling that gets to me.
I've known people who never open the windows in their houses. Talk about some stale air.
I just hate to run the air unless it is really Catastrophic hot.
The subway is crowded but everyone is in good spirits, and it is free.
At least getting back.
Plus I spilled a really old cup of coffee, by accident all over the carpet today. UGH, I am trying to get the smell out with baking soda...
pour a little coca cola on it red
On the carpet?
I hear it works with everything..
it's not exactly coke colored.
lol..I'm kidding
I have heard it can take the lime stains off the bathroom...may have to try that...
How are you RU?
I got my Sweet boy back!
*ducks ... from Molly throwing something*
Hi ruru
oh great
I am fine but sore
tennis?
Oh, did you not duck soon enough?
yup
Are you ready for wimbledon yet?
lol.. I was rolling on the court today like Tsonga
good for you Ru!
except his is grass and ours isn't
I am not sure, wht if Molly threw anything...YET.
thankfully she missed that note
Well get the coke ready to clean up with if she does.
Oh Oh, Sorry, be careful you do nto want to end up on the Injured reserve.
Hi Ru, I was just watching "John Adams" and they were tarring and feathering someone. Thought of you. Kiss kiss, hug hug.
*WHISTLES*
*looks at ceiling*
That was truly a barbaric punishment. Those colonists were hard core.
I think the French were a little rougher
with the guillotine
What did you have for dinner Ru? Squid with goat cheese and balsamic vinegar? : P
lol.. I didn't have balsamic so I substituted with coke
*ducks*
Oh the poor man. He hasn't learned not to mess with an Irish woman who can give the evil eye, three thousand miles away.
Can someone give me a clue for the last tr5, please?
to attempt + not pa tr5
Does someone have a clue for the last pe5?
ty ruru. Fireworks.
pe + double consonant + vowel
Domestic animal + note in the scale
ty Molly
And wht!
ni6?
A good name for lice remover.
If you add an e it becomes a chemical.
thank you
congratulations Ruru, sorry I got distracted, by facebook!
Thank you! I apologise if I'm asking too much.
I'm glad you got it. It was a bit of a cryptic clue.
You are not asking too often.
That clue made my head itch!
Sorry about that.
I also appreciated the clue...very much so.
I think I shall have some cookies. BRB
Ha ha, no worries wht!
Fireworks!
wtg, Magyk
Hello all. I've had lots of early nights recently, but I'm having a late night tonight, so am just here to chat and clue. (Did the grid in the UK morning.)
How is everyone?
Hi Jac. I'm fine. Having a quiet evening.
Just fine, Jacula. How are you?
hi jac. I am popping in and out.
Hi both. I've had a nice relaxing day after a busy day in the garden yesterday.
hi, all! I fell asleep and was confused whether it was morning or evening but apparently it is evening.
so I can find the last 11 words and to to sleep for real....
Hello sue.
and red :o)
hi, nonnie!
Hello Sue. Well, it's 1.47am here in UK.
ah. I am actually on Babble time.
I'm trying to get used to the various time zones, what with my daughter being here, there and everywhere in the world in the past few months, but mostly in Australia. She's in Canada now, and her brother has just gone out there to meet up with her. I got phonecalls from both at a reasonable time today. (Daughter sometimes forgot the time difference after a drink or two in Oz and rang me in the early hours.) Kids. Gotta love 'em!
It can get confusing - I remember trying to set up video conference calls with colleagues in Texas, Switzerland, and Japan - it was always the middle of the night for someone!
cute kitty, btw...
That's a cat that looks very like my beloved Kira, Persian cross moggy queen. Still miss her!
awww - very sweet :-)
Tiggsey, the silver tabby 'Tom', who doesn't know he's had The Operation and so still fights and hunts follows me round since Kira died.
fireworks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He's a moggy, too. He has the 'hunting st6/21 down his back.
Well done Sue!
and Tiggsey sounds cute too :-)
Actually, that st6/21 is a fighting/hunting one that many tabbies and wild cats share.
Congratulations Sue.
mine are both declawed, so indoor cats (got them from the rescue center that way) so not a lot of real fighting for them. Both are female tabbies (generic cat).
I am going to pop out now. Does anyone need a clue before I go?
and thx, wht!
Sue, he's only 'cute' in the sense that he can 'talk' so must also have Siamese in him. If I say 'Hello' when I get him up in the morning, he miaows 'Hello' back. If I say 'Morning!', he will miaow 'Meeorning!' back. If I go out of the house without him, he will follow me so far yelling, 'Ow No! Don't go!' It's very funny, but he did lose his mother too early.
Clue for last pr5 please?
rolo - pr + electrically charged particle.
It sounds like it should be some kind of sub-atomic particle
one of mine is also very mouthy, jac; she really is cute, and funny...
TY!
But I think it is a fragment of a virus.
it is, wht, like the things that cause mad cow disease
wht - it's also another word for a petrel (seabird).
What a versatile word. :^)
LOL wht.
Anyone need any more clues?
ap6 please
DR - ap6 = the most pertinent.
ty Jac!
OK. Good night all. Happy Babbling.
y/w DR.
gnight Wht
'Night wht. Sleep well.
night, wht!
Everyone done?
nope- one more word but I am going to find it- ( she said in a determined voice)
LOL - Happy hunting.
ty - my monkeys are working hard
And they found it! tr7 was my last word
I'll whitter on for a bit whilst you're looking for your word, DR.
Or maybe not! Congrats DR!
ty Jac!
I am going to go get the laundry out of hte machine.. thanks for the clues-
There was a car back in the 70s called a TR7. My managing diretor owned one. One day, he stopped to offer me a lift in the rain. It was a very low slung car and I had very high heels and a very short skirt on. Imagine trying to get in and out of that elegantly (and without showing your knickers). LOL
*director
My Gawd! I've made myself sound like Tina Turner, except that I was about 20 then.
ROFL! That is like when my hubby had a car that he was delivering to someone and it was low like that and I was 7 months pregnant and once I got in, there was no getting out :)
Hi ladies...speaking of cars, I'll give you one guess what's on the telly, Jac.
Hi Krista
Congrats, uusue!!!!
Hey there DR. I've got 20 left - what aout you?
DR - I did that late pregnancy thing when I lay down on a bench in the sun in our back garden and forgot that hubby was upstairs at the front of the house playing his electric guitar. I was like a beached whale but on my back on the bench, trashing about and squeaking, 'HELP!' I did eventually manage to roll over enought to get myself up, but it's not easy to bend a baby belly.
Hi Krista. It wouldn't be 'Top Gear' AGAIN, would it? LOL
It would. Though Netflix only has four more episodes left...YAAAYYY!
Love your preggo stories, Jac and DR. You paint a picture with words, lol.
*smiles @ Krista* He WILL find a way to get more episodes, you know. The latest series, which began last week put Alice Cooper on the track.
He is scheming. For some reason, we can't get streaming BBC programs here. He told me some idea he had about getting a British IP address or some other craziness, lol.
May I have a clue for that infernal M word, please?
Well, Krista, life with pregnancy, giving birth, life with pregnancy and a job when you already have one child, live at work when you have children, life at home with children, meanopause at home with a step child etc., etc. How can anyone fail to find painful or amusing stories to tell?
Krista - mu + one day you WILL be ri* of that dratted Top Gear programme.
The word refers to a family of rodents - mice mostly.
True, we've all got our war stories. Would you believe tried that one? At least I thought I did. Thank you.
y/w Krista.
If no one had 'war stories' to tell, no books would get written. Not even Enid Blyton's books, which, of course, were hanging on to the Old Way.
*googling Enid Blyton* :)
Ah, ok. I see they found a previously unknown novel in Feb. of this year.
Omigod! YOu've not heard of Enid Blyton? The Famous Five, The Secret Seven, The Mystery of The Missings, Noddy & Big Ears, The Faraway Tree, Those Naught Chidlren.... I could go on. She wrote over 700 books.
Not sure if she is lesser-known here or I was culturally deprived!
I guess he never made it in the USA. LOL.
*She, not he.
Her modern equivalent is probably JK Rowling.
Except that JKR appeals to all the adults who ever read Enid Blyton. LOL
Patrick said he never heard of her here. Hm, maybe I'll read some of her books. I never let my age stop me.
Krista - read away, you're in for a real treat with lashings of giner beer.
Ha, I bet you're right. Though I don't know much about Harry Potter. My kids never liked it.
Krista - never mind if your kidas didn't like Harry Potter - read the books for yourself!
*ginGer beer
What a deprived USA population. I have two shelves of EB's. Read Farway Tree to the grade 2's last year and they loved it
My sister did just that. She doesn't have kids. I did start the first book with the kids and really liked it (they did not). I'll put it on my to-do list. *adding ten millionth item to list*
Krista - I wonder if you've ever read my favourite book - 'The Secret Garden' by Frances Hodgson Burnett?
Many many years ago, yes. :) Yep, sounds like we missed a great author, vanilla.
vanilla - Hello. I don't know where you're from but I think you get my drift.
Australia
at5 pls
Welcome to the chog, vanilla.
hi all
Hi Sue!
The twists and turns in her imagination is amazing
at 5/12 is a plus tr 4/5 word suefrad625 and hi there
Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
ty
Hi again Vanilla. My daughter has just left Oz when her visa ran out, but she will be back again soon. I just thought of another favourite EB book - The Children of Cherry Tree Farm. And I've also just recalled 'The Naughtiest Girl In The School', though searching for that title re Google may bring up things many peopele may not want to see. LOL
yw
Hi Min!
I finish and then I come back to see if theres more words...its getting to me
Hi Min.
the 6 is not off the 5?
at6 pls
Hi Krista!I am here if you need clues. Did you get the mu 5/16 word yet? I also have story of clues in profile
What part of the country was she, Jac?
Sue - at6 is a Roman courtyard.
at 6:a skylit central court in a contemporary building
I suspect you are right, Jac. I couldn't believe the trash that would come up when I was a Girl Scout leader and had to Google "Girl Scouts." Sounds like you've got the Babble addiction, Vanilla.
Hello Jacula! How are you? Happy 4th weekend to you
ty min
yw
I do have that one, thanks, Min. Great, I'll have a look at your story. Have 18 left and I'm quite stuck.
Oh Vanilla, so many places I can hardly begin to type. I want a map so I can do pins and then cotton for the way she whizzed about. Brisbane to start, Cairns, Adelaide and I can't remember where else.
ok next time she should 'do the west', particularly up north
She's in Canada now and her brother has gone to Calgary to meet her, and both will be staying with my ex-bro and sister in law there. They have to meet my uncle and aunt, too, and go to stay with my cousin on his conservation island.
Clue for tr 5/16, please?
mind you, there's so many great places on this planet, if only we lived for 400 years and had some money!!
tr 5 to attempt + not Pa
Krista - tr* - make an attempt + short form of 'mother'.
tr 5/16 is three prefix plus ***o (a dog's name) Krista.
Thanks ruru and Jac. Never saw that one.
May I please have a clue for tr6-30? Thanks
The word actually refers to nuts such as walnut and hickory, which get dry outer shells that are tough.
Oops! I clued the tr 6/30 word Krista, so sorry!
Ah, a botany word. When in doubt, it's a monetary unit or botany. It's ok, I had that one, Min.
tr 6/30 is three prefix plus ***o(a popular dog's name)
tr6/30 is the name of the alien plant in John Wyndham's novel but take an 'f' out.
'Day of The Tr*****s*. It was also a film.
Why did I think that was a Star Trek critter? (not a Trekkie, obviously)
Thanks much, y'all
Klingons on The Starboard Bow?
I am done! I have fireworks! ap6/21 was my last word
Tribbles! It was tribbles.
Congrats, Min!!!!!!
I will be here for a little bit if anyone else needs clues.
hagd all gotta get down to the weeds of the earth
Yay for Min! The upper right o word has eluded me all day, Min. I'd appreciate a clue for that one. O 5/14
Bye Vanilla...enjoy
they look and me and say 'what are you doing here on your kneees to us!'
on + 'not me but you' + a 2-letter word you say when you are not sure about something.
AAHHH, ty ty
y/w Krista.
I'm not sure how that clue worked, since I got the first part the wrong way round. But glad it worked.
I was little confused but got the beginning and end so I figured it out. Need nourishment! BBL
io6-24 please.....thanks
io 6/24 word is charged particle plus at 6/24 ending.
Goodbye Krista! I will see you later on in the chat log.
Thanks so much, Min.
yw
I'll be off now to join the snoring, snorting, tooth-gringing, giggling and talking in his sleep person my lovely Toyboy becomes onc sleep hits his brain, not to mention him pinching My Side Of The Bed etc., etc. Some nights I dodge the elbow blows and sleep with earplugs in, others I stay up until I have the bed to myself.
Goodbye Jacul1
Goodbye Jacula! I will see you tomorrow in the chog.
Sweet dreams, Jacula.
My dog is SO not liking the fireworks going on outside
My very last one is st6-21 the 1st...help please....Thanks

yo yo yo, empty chat room!
hi, gwen! haven't seen you for a while!
yeah, been lazing off from my boggle duties lol
are you having this ridiculously hot weather too?
although it has cooled off nicely tonight, finally...
yep, 90 F on the thermometer, with an "actually feels like" of 97 today
nevertheless, i hit some garage sales and found some more books, weeee
we got up to 93, yuck
but I still have not turned on the air conditioning...
Hi Book Doctor Gwen! How are you? Welcome to grid.
I found some books yesterday too but in Barnes and Noble :-)
and I am still reading my way through a stash that I got from a local library that was giving away books that hadn't sold at their sale - got close to 100 books from that, I think
NOOOO!!!!! lolol
(and hi, Min!)
well, I broke down and bought The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, which I have been wanting for a while
me too, on the air conditioning. i really really hate it. and it contributes to the climate prob too
and then a couple of mysteries from their bargain bin
yeah, that science/medical one does look interesting
and costs an arm and a leg besides! (the A/C that is)
you think making hot molecules slow down should be cheaper . . .
I'm also reading No More Enemies, a proposed solution to the Palestinian/Israeli conflict written by my sister-in-law
no, unfortunately the second law of thermodynamics tells us that if you want to transfer heat from a cooler place (your house) to a warmer place (the outside) it takes energy to do it. Sad but true.
This is when I REALLY wish the city had allowed me to install the geothermal heat pump I wanted several years ago...
who published the israel/paletine book, may i ask?
i think i found it. deb reich?
it's basically self-published but you can get it on Amazon and Kindle
Yes, that's her!
http://www.nomoreenemies.net/
cool
says it's published by Joshua Joshua and Reich - the two Joshuas are her kids, Amos and Maya :-)
my former, former boss was Palestinian, and my former boss was a Zionist Jew. some ups and downs
Deb has lived in Israel for over 40 years, but has been involved in peace activities all that time - speaks Hebrew and Arabic, has lived in Palestinian towns and has Palestinian friends - not an easy thing to do over there
10 to go and i'm yawning ...
Has anybody here signed a pettition on FaceBook for Matthew Weatherspoon to be prosecuted to the fullest extent for stabbing his dog 5 times in the face
holy cow, haven't heard about that one. nasty!!!
just found it on FB. still nasty!!
so, did you sign? (i am not going to sign until i know more about the case)
The man stabbed his dog because it nipped him. Then he threw the dog out into the street where someone found it and brought it to safety. I signed it. Animal cruelty is totally wrong no matter what the case is.
do we know anything about the man? i mean, does he have an IQ of 60 or anything like that?
oh, and FIREWORKS!
Congratulations Book Doctor Gwen on fireworks!YAY
The following is a link to the article in the Huffington Post about the incident: http://www.huffingtonpost.co m/2011/06/28/matthew-weatherspoon-stab _n_886626.html
From what he said in an interview, it does not sound like his IQ is 60. He claims that his dog attacked him.
please do not think i don't care about animal cruelty. i just cautious about conclusions getting jumped to
Yes, I do understand your point and Bulldogs do have a tendency to be cruel themselves. We'll have to see what the outcome will be. Guess nobody really knows what happened except for Matthew Weatherspoon.
I wanted to stay up for the flip tonight, but my brain is begging me to go to sleep. Goodnight to all babblers
Goodnight to my fellow babblers! I'll see you tomorrow
