ok everyone,head to crossy,s for breakfast.today i am making crossys famouse Canadian french toast. i take home made bread and cut it in 2 inch thick slabs and use two whipped eggs per slice,omnce it soaks it all up,i fry it tin real butter till golden brown and top it with some brown sugar and cinnamin or a drizzle of our incredible maple syrup,serve with a bowl of died fresh fruit and a small glass of v8 juiice with a dash of cracked pepper on top

fortunately, I paid off undergrad debt twenty years ago, and have only grad debt to pay back now... and two kids to put through post-secondary something-or-another. (but I don't need to save for a new roof any more!)
well, that is good! A lot of my money went into improving this 120-year-old house - it is indeed improved but not yet done, and the money is pretty much gone. Sigh.
oh yes -- "the money pit," or life imitates art? LOVED Tom Hanks and Shelley Long in that.

I think houses are just plain expensive -- if you want them to look like the magazines, anyway. I like to have lots of colors and such, but generally have fairly eclectic furniture (a lot of hand-me-downs/family heirlooms mixed with ikea finds)
I haven't even started thinking about furniture (I do have a nice dining room set but that is about it).
I was blessed with a mother in law who likes to decorate, and who "donated" many things when we moved in. We have gradually been replacing the less-sentimental items from that time with pieces from my grandmother's home or size-appropriate pieces (we are small and so is our home).
ah - no relatives here, perhaps that's my problem :-)

she also loves entertaining -- comes from the martini era (think bewitched and Samantha putting on dinners for the boss), so she really does it right.

Local Animal shelter's love sheets and blankets. Sheets are great for dogs having puppies and blankets are so snuggly and comfy. I also donate only to non kill shelters

Yesh I am not saying that at all. SHelters with a high kill rate don't give a stuff about animals. They really don't. That is the powers that run the place not the volunteers. I have heard of volunteers smuggling out animals to give them a new home
