hello all -- worth starting now?
oh yes stid
oh sure, stid -- and hi!
hey ruru
okydoky... *splash*
GOOD MORNING
bonjour, chere ruby! comment ca va?
can anyone pls clue the first pl and pu?
heya ruby
hey gort
ca va bien, merci
there is a pl 6/21 is that what you need gort?
but as the day hasn't really started, who knows?
yup that's one of em, stid
here are some i've tried that it isn't: plunnies, pluties and plises and plissen
okay, it's a type of fabric, p + four letters of little house star (after the me) (me7 gilbert) + vowel
save time and energy, lurkers, by learning from aunty gort's mistakes
that last one you listed is a pl7... drop the last letter
hi ruby -- I did another Annecy jigsaw today -- posted it in FB
I will look. How are you Jilli? I'll bet they always show the old prison where the river splits
thanks stid, glad i nearly guessed it as fabric for a house star was gonna fry my neurons
Oh no -- much prettier, ruby! Jigidi's pictures are submitted by players.
oh -- sorry, they didn't show "little house on the prairie" where you live I bet! *grin* sometimes I forget where people live!
it's a lovely town and we are 10 minutes away in the country, so have a view of the lake and mountains, but not the town
I don't really watch tv.. but I got the clue
maybe they did, but i think it got eclipsed by the modern version, called Raising Hope
but you were here when little house was so popular back in the 70s and 80s! LOL gort might not even be old enough to remember first-runs
I don't know Raising Hope
yeah sorry stid, i'm gonna say something I haven't said in a long time: I AM TOO YOUNG (gosh that felt good)
:-D rofl gort! (I am NOT... *sigh*)
I just saw 2 episodes of (the new?) Raising Hope the other night with an actor who was the coward who killed wild Bill
crap.. I grew up in the prarie
young? I used to be young.....
on Deadwood
Raising hope: dysfunctional teen impregnates murderess who gets imprisoned leaving dude to raise kid (called Hope) in dodgy but lovable family
did you really ruru? buffalo chips and all? *innocent mama look*
???? how peculiar, gort -- sounds pretty out there
it was odd and on late; we get a very mixed bag of US, Brisih and Canadian TV for the slim English-language choices. Husband has to read the French subtitles because he can't hear the movie adequately
in other words, only common ground is that they live in a little house
I see ... LOL it's late here, can you tell?
I am back from the stidkid's play - HONK - which was a lot of fun and made me cry.
"Little House in the Dysfunctional 'Burbs"
fiery worx
great description, gort
"And that ni4 prius nuisance who is just now rather rife, the judicial humorist, I've got him on the list..."
yay jilli
which play is it, stid?
hi doug
hey doug.. long time no see
HONK, jill. it's about the ugly duckling
wait. DOUGLAS??? CHOCLIT!!!! *giant choclit confetti machine goes into overdrive
Oh -- I thought you were just honking, stid, lol!
Hello all...with the help of morewords, I've attained nbt2
crikey, stid, what did they do to you? you gotta watch out for these kids plays...it's all cute and fun and fluffy ducklings one minute, then the next its BAM and they rip into your soul...apparently
go douglas go!
wtg doug
it's quite a play, gort! I recommend it.
I'm about to post an icon clue...
gort, is Cadel back to great eclat yet?
my kids school is putting it on next week
I hope they will enjoy it as much as the local theater group does!
i don't know ruby. What is Cadel and what is eclat?
and are they edible and can you please send me some?
sorry, I thought that everyone in Australia was celebrating his Tour de France victory - he was the oldest in 88 years and the first Aussie!
rofl edible... .*gasp. choke. giggle* too funny. I was wondering the same thing, actually!
eclat is great reputation...mad street cred
everyone except gort lol
icon clue posted -- refresh please
dam! Cadelised eclats sound positively delicious and would be worth launching a public holiday for, but some dude winning a bike race? meh, happens every day
Australian of the year he'll be
I hope so; I rooted for him all the way as the ultimate anti-Contador!
This is THE race gort
hello vanilla -- LOVE the icon!
ty stid, the Nef pressure told on me and I paid up
they'll probably name streets after him!
if they're smart, they'll name streets after vanilla slice!
ah, that Nef! LOL
well I am down to 34 and actually hungry hungry. back in a few with some food. *sneaks out*
so my icon clue is ignored?
would someone clue the first pu
sounds like a block and tackle
pu + verb of existence + abbr for northeast
New to me, jilli
god.. thanks jilli
ahh sorry there were a couple before that
yw ru
thanks jili, would never have got it, does it have something to do with strength?
it has something to do with the law -- check the ?
su6 anyone?
Having a heaping bowlful of sputnies...if it isn't a word, I can use it for something
bronzed by that big round yellow thing in the sky, cos
thanks gort
tuss should be a word
I was going to post an icon clue for the su6 but chose the un4 instead -- but nobody seems to care
was gonna be clever and use it's name - alpha centauri? oojamaflip? - but had to settle for big round yellow thing
I tried to open it jilli, but froze instead!
sorry about that, ruby!
appropriate for our non-July weather
summer seems to be gone... :(
tu7?
plural of English word for that fish
cracklespitboomboom fireworks
ridiculous word, cos, rhymes with fluffy bunnies
yay vanilla
(still looking for su6 :(
well done van
ah thanks gort and ruby
seeing the fireworks again makes the 14.95 worth it after all
compound word, ruby, for the browning effect yr skin gets from UV rays
mind you the aussie dollar is 1.10 US so we get it cheap!
one day's chog alone is worth the $$
fireworks
true ruby
congrats cosdem
hooray for cos!
well done cos
yay cos
ty all for ur help
night all.. I need some sleep
monkeys are trying everything
bye ruru and me too bye all

yay cos and van...goodnight all

Thanks
good morning all - how many words today please??
ok, new icon clue posted -- have a laugh
87
half sort of
hilariously disturbing icon jili
ruby, did you get su6 yet?
Hehe gort
nope! and can't get either of your icons
reminds me of what ozzie author kathy lette said about bronzing in the 60s...
what was that, gort?
...girls would write their boyfriend's names in sunscreen on their bodies...
got it, flap me with a tu**
which means one day she'll have a melanoma called "Bruce"
I kept putting fry at the end
oh cute, gort!
glad you got it, ruby!
and now I must head for bed -- busy day tomorrow and I musn't oversleep
sweet dreams
right, as dinner isn't making itself, i'm off to make it, thanks for clues, cheerio all
rise
so farewell all, and ...*poof
sorry, hope there's coffee in the PB
(ruby -- I'm dying to know what you think of the latest jigidi of Lac d'Annecy -- leave a comment in FB, please, when you can!)
OK, I'll go in there now and try to find it
*poof*
It's in my profile
and now for some banana and milk...*repoof
morning all. Small and nasty or tiny and over too fast?
hi sprite! for me, they're all hard but at least with the big ones, I have something to chew on
hi rubyfoo, looks like this one is somewhere in the middle.
I have 49 words and nbt but it doesn't look like I'll find many more
the plural ending is pretty rewarding
true, just got another couple
one by one they fall and in the end there can be only... none ;)
you know what bugs me? That we have etwee and atwee, but only etui. Atui is not valid.
I just went through my word list and just added s's where I could, now have 54
puis
sorry, not valid though. Good! I have 56 now. Let's find some more.
add directional abbreviation and it's pllural

not so cute in person! hello chic (or can we call you chickie?)
Just counting the numbers remaining in this impossible puzzle is amusing to me.
Chick is my real nickname
Chickee is my real nickname
what shall we call you, then
Punt
too sporty for a nickname!
it is the kind of puzzle where you are proud of every word you find after halfway
Sorry guys
It's the meds

Got the 7 thanks
I need many s's
Meds are working, pain is down, should be asleep ight now
what pain meds are you taking?
hm, 2 out of 3 isn't bad, but not yet good enough. Need a lullaby?
Oxy instant release and vicodin
hefty combination. But very good you are taking it when it is necessary.
Nitty, nitty players thanks for the company
Nitey
I hope you sleep well, chic. If you can relax, I bet you will drift off.
sweet painless dreams, chickee

It will all come to naut.

More un-words than real words in today's grid.
Ungowa- is that from that kids' joke about ungowa on your shoe?
... but scramble the letters of your last non-word and you've got an entry
The only thing I know "ungowa" from is some dumb cheer we did in grade school.
I know, I know.
Fish fish.
yeah, got that one
Sue, someone needs to treat you to a spa day.
GMorning everyone :0)

Fiireworks
Fireworks for witchy $#$^#%$&^%$*#&^%*%*&@%*&^#%$*&^@%*$&%@ *&#%$&*@$%*#@%$*&@#%&$@#
congrats, witchy
you just make a graham cracker crust (1 pk grahams, 7 tbsp butter, and some sugar... i think a cup?) and then mix up banana pudding according to pkg directions for pie and put it in the crust, top with cool whip. you can also layer sliced bananas in the pudding if desired.
good morning everyone:))

Hey - crossy - choose your own deserts
this carton of eggs..every single on of the yolks broke when over easy...and i used to be a short order cook in the day...i can flip eggs and not get a broken yolk..this whole carton....grrrrrrr
well, off the be productive. have spent the large part of the week working with a friend and her dad with dementia.
yay for geek
*~*~*POMPOM TOSS*~*~*science
Face it, Carlee. You have weak shells.
i finished the carton.....on to a neww carton tomorrow :)
carleekat - wow - must be some stress out hens out there
that is a tough road science,i am sure your friend cherishes all your help
( weak nuclear membranes at the very least...alway boggles my brain when you think an egg is a single cell....no matter the size of it )
sometimes grosses me out too... not sure why
Best not to think about the "embryo" factor.
science - I have never experienced any meeting of someone who suffers from dementia - but I have always thought that it would be such an aweful thing to experience - it would be draining and heart breaking and so so sad

hello everybody
ruby!
hello ruby
afternoon
pu on pu's!
when the yolks break like that, doesn't it mean that the eggs weren't fresh?
also, does anybody know an easy way to separate quail egg yolks from their very tenacious whites when they're raw?
hello teach and lickety and punster
hello all
hello TO
good morning TO
I'm back - good morning to all the new arrivers
or afternoon for you folks on the other side of the pond
{{river}}
((ruby)) my friend how are you
just picked blackberries between the rain showers
are you making jam?
it is lush and green here because of all the rain, but very cool for July. And the weeds would grow up my legs if I stood still long enough,.
It has been a very hot and dry July for us. We need rain desperately - supposed to get some today
Lickety, since some changes were made to the grid, when i am putting words in, the cursor will not reappear and every time i have to put it back in with every word i enter....any help?
So far just currant jelly and white peaches (store-bought, but wonderful). There aren't enough blackberries yet to make jelly. Soon, though
so what are you going to do with the blackberries
we had the dryest winter and spring in the 14 years I've been here, but we've made up for it in July. I could use some sun, though.
Feed them to my husband with the few strawberries the slugs don't get
I'll make jelly with the blackberries, once there are a lot. For now, he keeps up with my pickings
how are your children?
hmm, deceptive grid today
did you ever see so many pu words, TO?
Kids are great - Sarah is excited and getting ready for college. Keith has been playing soccer this summer. High school tryouts are in a couple weeks.
PU to the pu words
things certainly turned out well after the tough time you went through with Keith!
better stated dod you ever NOT see so many pu words :0
river, see my comment at 8:27. snap!
they sure did - its been one year now since his collapse and surgeries and he is doing great - cant keep that kid down for long
hahah, TO
and how are YOU doing?
lol ruby
the usual ruby....happy pills keep me going...lol
speaking of mood-altering drugs -- poor Ruby went crazy last night because a neighbor was setting off firecrackers. I finally had to give her a "doggie downer", a dog tranquilizer with meprobromate and phenobarbitol in it. I worried all night
poor ruby - I am lucky that stuff does not bother my dogs
max barely notices

Good morning!
hi car
Hello doxy!
stupid ps words
Oh boy. Thanks for the heads up!
there is only one, but ps words are stupid
good morning, all :)
Ok then. Yes, they are a bit si 5
Hi cyber!
hi nan
im 4....Really? What kind of word IS that? There isn't even a definition for it!
It is a BS word, in my opinion.
((Molly)) Good morning!
I think they make up words sometimes.
I do too Doxy. Morning Car.
I think a listing is absolutely crucial to finishing this one -- there are so many "creative" words.
su 4 is another one....it looks like a typo!
I don't think it's right to have words in the grid that have no definition.
It gives us something to talk about!
there are quite a few "creative" words in this grid
is 5/10, please?
is + The ***ne is a river in France
is5 - i = double consonant + two vowels
ty molly & doxy -- never remember those japanese words
is there and fy word?
Help please with the second N word from the bottom? I have nu 4/5.
Sushi is about the only one I remember Nan. No fy words Lisa.
No Lisa.
2 words fi 4....
thank you
ni + **t down right now?
ni4/4
got them
TY Molly!
I still need one i from the top...I have il 4/4, is 5/10 and is 5/12.... what am I missing please?
Fireworks
Hoooray! Well done Doxy!
Car, I need your in5 on this topic
il4/6
il 4/6
I have that from the side i.
congrats doxy :)
good grief. TY!
going to take a break -- struggling with that first pu 6 at the moment
Sorry Car, didn't see you mention a 5/14
the first pu is aweful
That's OK! I appreciate the help anyway!
nan, do you want a definition?
awful as in hard to get, or awful as in an awful word to even have?
awful as in hard to find
both really
I'll take a clue....
i have one pu 6. didnt even know it was a word. i dont know if its the first one though as i havent gone to the list yet
the pu6/7 uses all the letters in the upper corner
I would never get that pu6/7 combo from the definition.
it means a junior judge
see you all later. have to get ready for work
Car, like Lean ******* frozen entrees, without the second i
good luck today on this one. congrats to all the finishers
TY Molly...working on it...
wow...horrible word, i agree! how did you ever figure that one out?
bye doxy :)
I am not spelling it correctly....
got it!
TY!
Are all the C's CR words?
Yes
I have cr 6/21, 5/14 and 7/44...what am I missing please?
cr 4/5
I give up -- could I have a clue for the pu 6-7 combo please?
cr 4/5...can you clue the 5/14 and the 7/44?
Like apples or a cool Fall day....

7 is adjective
adjective of the 5?
yes
thank you :)
:o)
now...this sl 5/14. I dont have that one either :)
s + l 4 flower
transpose letters in the goofy word...
wow...never heard of that word either...are they trying to kill us today? lol
If you used a Y it would mean in a devious way. But I have never seen it spelled that way.
yes, i agree, never seen it spelled that way either
I only need 18 more, but I think I will take a break. Be back in a bit.
Have a great day everyone!
the last su 5, please?
i have one su5...it is the name of the monster in monsters inc.
sorry -- last si 5?
An exercise
i have one si 5 too...it means to be playful
LOL! Another fish smack to forehead!
ty molly

I thought it was two words.
not today molly lol...
normally yes, i always thought two words too!
it's all in the context
29 left
Context?
whether you're being told not to slouch or forced to exercise...
The exercise is always spelled with two words
LOL! Not according to my PE instructor...
Well, if you look it up, it is spelled with two words. I disagree that si6 is a word.
*!* ta da *!* - I'm all for creative thinking, but this is ridiculous!

youladies are so funny...i love it
i am missing an l word and have no clue how big it is
i have all 4 letter l words

yes, thank you...lu6
if it was spelled with a double o it would be the Canadian $1 coin, plural
Crazy people. Usually spelled with two oos
thank you ladies
just got invited for some scrapple (as in food) tata ladies
bye christa

have you finished, molly?
ok -- time to bite the bullet and see if I can figure out how to use the new program! Back at the flip :)

thank you dose~great clue
Can I get a clue for the last si5.14 ?
... si5/14 ... adverb form ... ... word means "sneaky"
... sneaky like a fox
dose, isnt that the si before this
oh that's sl 5
I need s "eye" 5.14, the last one
.. I'm sorry ... si 5/14 ... an exercise ... or ... what you used to have to tell your kids to do at the table ...
... need a new prescription on the bifocals ... can't tell "i' from "l"
Wow, thanks, I never would have put that on together...thought it was two words, si5 me
Yes, the eye and the ell are difficult to see
... the only reason I treated it as one word ... is my gym teacher could always make it a plural ... and it didn't make sense as two words that way ...
yes, I see that
I need 9 more...going to leave it for later, bye
... 'til then ...
hi again all, we are back from the courthouse and all went as planned! Yay!
... victory is sweet ...
great news sue
so my son still has to keep totally out of trouble for another 6 months (like not even running a stop sign), then the charges get dropped.
meanwhile we are still pursuing the order of protection, and will see what happens with that.
Fantastic, Sue. Sometimes things do go well. He should be able to keep his head down that long. ;)
afternoon everyone
thanks, dos and dispatch and sally, and hi katie!
Good news Sue!! So happy it's official and there is nothing lingering to be concerned about.
When you say "still pursuing" does that mean the restraining order against her isn't in effect yet?
that's right, molly, the hearing on that is August 8
So how has she been behaving? Is she trying to contact him?
no, she's been spreading poison about him among her friends, but he's acquiring a new set of friends now and has nothing to do with her *finally*
and as far as I know she hasn't tried to call or text; I still have her phone blocked from his anyway
Typical personality disorder behavior on her part. Glad to hear your son has moved out of her circle of venom.
Indeed. He was surprised at how far she went to "throw him under the bus" - his term - during the deposition. he is SO done with her.
I think it's a great term, applied to people who claim to (or have claimed to) love you. You expect those people to pull you out of the way of an oncoming bus, not throw you under it. And when people behave this way, it's a real good indicator that you should get as far away from them as possible. Very glad to hear that your son is putting her behind him.
so if you drop a yogurt container on the floor, doesn't it go "splut"?
i think i am missing the last pu5...
anyone have a clue?
pu 5/14 ... plural of sick greeny infectious stuff in pimples and boils
thank you...would have not have spelled it that way...:)
... two esses makes it the plural of cats
... no e and it's one cat
yeah, i guess that makes sense when you think about it
13 left...3 a words and 10 s words lol
... "a"s weren't too hard once you get started ...
... but didn't like the "s"s

just popping in to let you see my icon clue -- good for a giggle. Back later. I finished last night.

Hello how is Babbleland tonight?
hi wht, I am well but this grid stinks
I hate it when I enter a word at least once, sometimes more and it is not accepted and then later in the day I try again and it is !
That is aggravating Peri.

Yesterday morning I was eating breakfast overlooking the beach in Maui and looking across the channel at Molokai.
Wow, sounds just wonderful. wht, where are you now?
would love to go to Hawaii someday
Even serious jet lag and unpacking has not ruined the mellow.
I am home outside Boston now.
14 left, bbl, when the rain stops
We left Maui yesterday at about 1 pm and arrived in Boston at 7:40 this morning.
Hello, is this thing on???
Hi Wht. Everyone finished the grid and vamoosed. Welcome back.
Well, I finished the grid and was about to do the same myself.
No one hangs around when the grids are small. Bad web business move on Dr. God's part. Low traffic isn't good for a web site.
And when the grid is really large, no one has time to chat.
Good night lurkers.
hi everyone!
Hi Luwan!!
Evening all. Have 5 to go. Hoping for a little larger puzzle (sounds silly when I can't get all of this) LOL
At any rate, may I please have a clue for cr5-14? Thanks

Hi,all! Just got back from a nice walk and parade; I finished earlier but can clue for a bit
:-) you can find the materials at www.centeronconscience.org
hi uu
i will be talking about the military Conscientious objector act that would make CO discharge from the military law and allow for people to seek discharge if they only object to the war at hand.
Hi, jmc!
sounds good, I hope your people come soon!
wasn't su5/16 the guy that landed the plane in the Hudson?
oh the last event finished late (of course) so I figure they will show up some time in the next half hour
Yep.
ah, that makes sense.
although if one more person here talks about how they limit themselves to internet time because they want to have real relationship . . . .!
uusue, remember he told his wife he would be a little late, there had been an incident. He is just a hero. And didn't seem to want the celebrity side of things.
someone showed up so i may have to behave myself!
i need some help
anything will help
bbl

He confirmed he was my friend

Well, I'm just checking in again so you can all get a laugh from my icon clue. The icon themes are a facet of this game most people seem to ignore, which is a shame. All the themes are posted in my profile and in sprite's and flosey's. Tey can be fun and at times, most informative -- get with it, gang!
Good heavens, jilli!
whoo hooo jilly!
thanks, jilly
hey jilli was it you or flosey that wanted a kenyan jacket?
and i didn't have that word!
Jmc, it must be flosey because I already have several of those lovely kenyan things you brought to the get-together last year (was it last year or the year before?)
last year
giggle, mab!
okay i will have to keep an eye out for her to get measurments

flosey couldn't make that gathering -- what a pity. I hope you'll be west again for another one some day -- mrp is thinking of October.....!!!

okay then it was flosey--do you think i have her email?
Hmmm -- well, mrp's visit is still a dream...

Did you tell Dr. G about your party with the babble cake? It was fabulous
it was fabulous!
i dont know if anyone told DR god but it was in the chog for a while
jmc, I don't think she'll mind -- pastorale at shaw , the dot, and the first 2 letters of the country we live in
I hope Jamie saw it - he'd be touched I'm sure.
It was posted in Facebook

I slipped into something more uncomfortable.
It's Friday night and I'm back from Happy Hour(s) at my wonderful neighbours' so I should go and get some supper although they provided such wonderful goodies, like smoked salmon on cream cheese on Guiness bread -- for the recipe see the Irish Country Doctor series of delightful books by (my neighbour) Patrick Taylor -- recipes by Dorothy Tinman (aka Mrs Kinkaid, or Kinky)
congrats, jilly's youngest!
