CA 6 X

I usually use Firefox but for some reason Babble defaults to IE.
if you use expert, that makes sense, as expert runs in IE
Yet Lickety's page used to say it works best with Firefox. Don't know if it still does.
I finally got it to load...SO boring!!
good, Erda -- how did you do it?
reading chog -- I went back to IE 8 as well, but use firefox for this
en 8 x 2
Just kept going in and out until I (almost) got blue in the face...
cyber in general do you like firefox better then IE?
I like FF over IE by far.
on Mack, i like Chrome, FF, Safari, in that order.
at this point the only reason to use ie instead of ff is if a very important site to you works only with ie, or if you are not willing to make small adjustments to get used to another browser
i hsve used both
firefox is vastly superior to ie in every way except for very specific and rare site compatibility issues
fe 7
I dont liek firefox but IE seems to get worse the higher the versions go
my brother likes Chrome as well, dc
i use chrome almost all the time, but firefox on my laptop

josh is it a word i should know?
ah, and it makes an LA8 :)
thanks josh
not common mlf, but i have seen it before
go nan go!
hm... interesting clues...
i know people with that LE5 as a surname.
looking for all these french words, but not seeing them - just one that is also commonly used in english
that le5 is French for "light, frivolous". It's also a misspelling of an accounts book.
oh - yes forgot about that one
it is also the surname of a wonderful french avantgarde filmmaker from the 1920s
but that is a bit too obscure to clue
help with l in the 3rd column please
l + e4/6
le 4 - ogle rudely
ty josh nbt and nbs

wtg dee
8's sure are not popping out at me... 4 more to go...

I have ca 8 x 2; en 8 x 2; la 8

ty josh
same root or different?
2 x re8
same save for one letter
figured there had to be some re's :(.... hate em
oaky doaky -- tired, headache starting and FULL day tomorrow. *sigh* I can hardly wait for summer to be over so I can have time alone to work around the house (when not working away from the house)... at some point life will be "normal" again. I think. Maybe. *grin* bonne nuit! *Poof*
nbs but not nbt yet

gnight stid!
still have one to go here...
g'night stid

and al7/8, 8 has extra vowel at end
still think reloan should be a word... loan it, get paid for it, then loan again lol
agreed, dee
must be 2 al 7's then -- unless the 8 is another charming one
ty josh 8's conquered
3 al 7's at least
nbt/nbs....at long last!! Good morning all......
morning, flask, well done
hello flask -- wtg!
wtg flask
are all the al 7's related?
2 are one is just related to the 8
I'm looking for the odd one out then
you want the one josh mentioned
yes -- but in the meantime I've found another al 6-7 combo
can't see anything I could add an e to for an 8
something freshmen do around this time of year
one who is signed up
I have no idea what kids do now, and think I prefer not to know!
oh -- no, looking for the al 8 -- my last one
al 7 beer + vowel used for a pronoun while texting + man's name (8 add a vowel at the end)
ty -- would never have found that!
yw
so the al's I have so far are 7,8,6,7,6,7,7,5
just found the ep 7
I think you might be missing an al 5 right after the 8 (unrelated)
nbs now too
wtg
yes -- just found it dee -- another french word!
wtg jill
ty for the ep 7
and an al 5 before the 7-8 combo
yw -- won't ruru love that one!
for sure
99 to go -- slow as molasses and keep getting the dreaded red bars, so calling it a night -- see you tomorrow.
nite nan
au 7/48 is French too
site IS wonky tonight
it is a bit frustrating to deal with
drives me crazy :)
ep 6/24
l'Au7 chez François is a famous French restaurant here.
greetings Ladies & gents! Nice to know I'm not the only one having problems tonight! How is everyone anyway?
hi hoot fine,how about you?
Well aside from constant rain storms and electrical outs - I'm fine too!
dc said they have been having tstorms.. where are you located, hoot?
There's a HUGE system of storms across, TN, VA, WV, NC, and MD
esp in TN and VA
I'm in Memphis but our storms sneak up on us so I've made a habit of disconnectind power before bed. Somedays I'm not sure I can finish because they are on-and-off!
icon clue for ep 7 uploaded :)
very frustrating.... wow glad it is east of us then dc
pe 7/36
BF is a meteorologist w/Fed Ex so I have my own weather map! Nothing yet.
ty for the cotton fabric, dee
yqw dc... I used to think that was a proper noun (before babble)
proper nouns depend on enable mood!
lol cr 7/36 yummy breakfast sweet
oh, that's spelled with an E in the 1st syllable around here. ty, dee.
babble is a tad slow tonight, no?
Has any one else been losing words? I just had to reenter one from about 15 mon ago - yesterday there was one I had to enter about 5x before it stuck!
yqw
i've not had that yet, hoot, but it's looking like the server may want a reboot.
hmmm wonder if the server is about ready to implode...
WOW! I already have 7 of the 8s. it's rare for me to have so many already.
Feel like I'm back on Yahoo sometimes. Comcast stood us up today. this thing is so slow it's slower than the very first ones I used when I started using cmps!
bu 7 x 2... mediacom here is about as bad as comcast
have to go to bed or I will sleep all day tomorrow! bye
nite
g'night hoot.
dee, are you a realtor, and/or do you own the house you've been posting?
I was a realtor in the 70's and early 80's, but I let my license go inactive. The house I post is ours. My hubby built it in 1978-79.
Hi Seain.
I gather yall moved?
evening, neil
May I ask why you ask? Nope, unfortunately, ours has not sold.
Icon clue posted --please refresh or go out and back in if you're interested.
gorgeous icon jili
just curious. such a lovely house, and i know you've been trying to sell.
We would be glad to sell it to you, dc!
thanks, dee :-)
:) yes, but that would require moving out there, or being very absent landlords.
terribly frustrated dc. We are taking it off in October if it hasn't sold. I refuse to go through the holidays and upcoming wedding and have to worry about showings.
makes sense to remove it and relist come Spring if that's the case, yes.
might be fun... our county has 100 lakes; pop of about 67,000 for the county.... 2 hours from Chicago
Why do you want to sell such a lovely house your husband actually built, dee?
2 hours from Indianapolis...
The master bedroom is on the second floor, jii, and I am trying to get rid of stairs... (rheumatoid and fibromyalgia are not going to get better as time passes)
get one of those ride-up-the stairs things, dee!
So we don't HAVE to sell immediately.... just hoped it would all fall into place quickly... surprised it hasn't since we priced so low
yes, it is QUITE the house at that price. OTOH, such home would cost 600k or so where i live, so what do i know.
that may be the solution in the end... I was just excited about a new chapter... we have been here 32 years...
friends of mine have done that -- she had a bd knee (now replaced) and he had a stroke.
yes, dc, other family and friends have said similar things...
I may have to skip stairs myself dee
since the stairs is an open stairs, it would be tricky to get that accomplished
why ru?
I have to have knee surgery..
knees, ruru?
I wrecked my knee
one or both knees, ru?
awwww playing tennis?
both
which wrecked your tennis???
new chapter in my life.. no more tennis
oooh, big change.
oh, bummer, ruru -- you've loved that game!
so sad for you ru.... just had a friend who had a knee replacement here... we are the orthopedic capital of the world...
yeah.. i just had xrays.. bad news
very sorry to hear that
Maybe after the replacements and rehab you'll be back on the courts
i'm in agony right now.. my left knee feels like it has a hot railroad spike in it
big huge ouch... pain meds?
not helping dee
Oh dear
so very sorry ru...maybe babble will help give you a diversion... are you icing it?
which meds have they given you? There's a whole world of them, and our culture is stingy with them.
when will you have surgery?
Couldn't agree more with your bio, rururocks... said much the same thing in an update I posted.
dunno.. when I can take enough time off work
and afford it I guess
Sorry about your pain.
you won't want to wait long with all that pain...
thanks neil..
Did you see what else I said ruru? About your bio?
I am so disappointed in the political system in the US.. Haz once said.. how silly it is that we change presidents and waste so much money every four years. I am beginning to see the wisdom in that.
yes neil.. it's scary the candidates that are running for president. really creepy republicans and i'm not happy with Obama
Wish we could legislate a shorter mandatory campaign season like in many other countries.
Obama seems the least of the evils for the time being :/
It's the long long campaigning that seems to waste so much time and distract from getting things done.
I'm not so sure anymore DC.. where's his backbone
i agree, jilli
he really hasn't stepped up for gay rights.. sorta wishy-washy on that also
Know what's really scary, ruru? This: http://tinyurl.com/4xbntus (Shar ed by Seain on Google+)
Not sure how that got broken up, but oh well.
Obama has my sympathy, facing those intransigent Tea Partiers who have taken over the Republicans.
the Tea Party people are idiots.. but that's not the total problem jilli
yes, backbone is a problem indeed.
Oh don't get me started about them!
I wrote an article about them after attending one of their protests in Washington DC two years ago. Shot some video footage of one of them... you saw that one Seain. Headshake! Idiot isn't the word.
And have you seen this interview, ruru? http://t.co/1CXHENe
guantanamo is still in business.. the entire middle east hates us.. we don't deserve to be in Iraq and Afghanistan, we are losing soldiers everyday for what?.. the economy is in shambles, I can't believe how difficult it is to do biz in this country right now.
If that link works... think it should. My brother used it to shorten the Youtube URL and it works from his post.
your brother?
Yes, ruru. It's a huge mess.
Yes, he posted the link to that video in a network we're on.
The Michele Bachmann interview. She's unbelievable.
oh..
she is freakin scary..
she makes palin look like vanilla pudding
... with lipstick...
Scary isn't the word for her.
Frightening, terrifying is a little more apt.
http://t.co/1CXHENe
Likewise Rick Perry...
I'm listening to her tell lies in that interview you linked, It's disgusting.
yes..he's a freak too jill.. what rock do these people crawl out from?
Isn't it though?
Notice how she skirts around and tries to avoid answering the guy, about her homophobia?
"Skirts around" my flabby white ass. She's lying.
Perry crawled out of Haskell, TX
ugh
you said it, Samantha
he creeps me out too
Of course she is, Samantha. Blatantly... pants on fire.
I think Bachmann's husband is a little scary too
No kidding, ruru.
If y'all want something to giggle about, take a look at the ad a Ron Paul supporter recently took out in a Texas weekly: http://tinyurl.com/3egu5k5
what is wrong with the Repulican party where all they offer up are these lunatics and whackos?
Ron Paul is the sane one among the R contenders it seems.
Heavens know, ruru
Well, if you can ignore the screaming racism, sure. But I have a hard time with that.
Exactly, ruru.
how is the Christian right gaining so much clout in america?
Wow, that's some ad, Samantha!
What about John Huntsman -- he seems reasonably sane.
I can't decide whether it's the Star Wars font that makes it so funny, or the fine print at the bottom, or just the fact that it was designed at all
Good question, ruru... can't understand it.
I've said for decades the the Dixiecrats hijacked the Republicans, and look what that got us.
Didn't John Huntsman come in pretty low in the straw poll? Is he even a serious candidate?
He did, but that was in Iowa.
We'll see how New Hampshire shakes out.
Wasn't it?
I am never going to Iowa ..ever
the Ames Straw Poll is non-binding and a historically poor predictor of later results.
Oh GOOD
Oh that ad is funny, Samantha!
I don't think I'll bother either, ruru.
Are YOU covering up anything about Rick Perry, Neil? LMAO
Unless I have to for work... only reason.
Why would I be, Samantha?
It was pretty much a random question. He seemed to accuse just about everyone, didn't he?
Have yall seen Perry's TX A&M Transcript: http://tinyurl.com/3uhy3n8
Pretty much, haha.
it's too bad Hunter S. Thompson isn't alive to cover this election
I'd love to share an article of mine but... ugh. You'd probably enjoy it though rururocks. You're read it Seain. My failed attempt to infiltrate the Tea Party?
I have. But in all honesty, there's so much else going against him that "poor student" doesn't even ping my radar.
indeed, ru
agreed, samantha, but i found it entertaining.
You miss Gonzo? I miss Molly Ivins.
increasing numbers of my peers are moving to Australia.
Molly is well missed
I don't blame them DC
sorry to bother butin eed a clue for the first al7
As someone else said, Ron Paul looks to be the sanest one running, and his racism is so over the top and scary that I can't take *him* seriously.
I don't blame them DC
Well, that was a long hiccup -- wiped out my post.
Cos, beer + vowel + man's name, add vowel to end for 8
quito, so, Samantha
Canada's doing ok, but I worry about Harper.
quite, so, Samantha
why is that, jill?
NaN+ hours left 0_o
ugh my comp crashed so i didnt see the clue for thje first al7
Cos, beer + vowel + man's name, add vowel to end for 8
He seems to be getting more like the Republicans in his ideas. He is arrogant and "my way or the highway"ish.
ok thanks thinking...
ugh dont get it
i got booted out for a while.. I think I'll limp off to bed.. good night all.. have a nice night.. bye jilli
i got booted out for a while.. I think I'll limp off to bed.. good night all.. have a nice night.. bye jilli
ooh got it
g'night ru
that bodes not well, jill
This site is acting up so I think I head for bed -- goodnight all and ruru--I hope your knee feels better soon.
go, go cos
I'm getting more error messages than I'm getting words through. That's bad on a big grid.
Samantha, same thing here...I just had to reboot
Think maybe the outage was dr_god's way of telling us not to talk politics on his site? ;)
Uh oh. Was it?
I couldn't even enter anything in the chat for a while.
Heh. More likely a power outage where ever the servers are.
I was enjoying reading all the comments on American politics...LOL seems the same here in Aus
I'm losing my fire. It's past my bed time. G'night, y'all.
I'll be going to sleep in a few minutes too. Good night Samantha.
good morning
is anybody still here?
anybody else awake?
Hi - I'm here.
Hi - I'm here.
morning, dianne
It's late afternoon here.
its 4:30 in the morning here
Are you and early bird or a night owl?
early bird but ready to go back to bed...where are you located
early bird but ready to go back to bed...where are you located
early bird but ready to go back to bed...where are you located
I'm in Hong Kong.
sorry, but my computer is acting up and slow today
Got to go - bye for now.

How are you, she, Dad and bro coping at this point?
Hey everybody :-)
Hi Soodle
we are all fine - excited for her - Keith is busy himself...this week has been high school soccer tryouts...find out tonight if he makes the team
hello soodle
he should make JV with no problem - he is very excited about enterring high school
its a big year for both of my kids
River - thats great! Both kids have big land-marks ahead of them.
Yes, big transitions for all.
both are having a great summer too - busier than ever before with alot of fun activities with friends
Scrabbler - I Loved the pic of yourself & UUSue on FB. You both look lovely!
oh yes..I loved that picture too - so glad you both had a great meet up
TY, Soodle. We had a nice dinner and talked a long time. Her son was there too--very nice young man.
I made the sign beforehand, for a photo.
I get really peeved when I hear about Babble meet ups. Well, more envious than peeved!
talking with the folks this week - lickety is trying for a job that may bring him to boston...if that is the case, we may do a babble meetup in boston or thereabouts....interested in taking the ride over scrabbs if that happens
Is anyone near you?
come on over soodle - you can stay with me
I know - easier said than done - I didnt have the funds to take me to philly when they had the meet there
Do you know that I have never been to Boston? Cape Cod twice though.
Shucks, thanks River :-).
are you way out west near buffalo scrabbs?
Hi all!I just popped in to see how many words were in the puzzle today...usually don't look until lunchtime..anyway, I'd love to go to a meet up sometime
I am about 30 miles southeast of Buffalo. The drive to Cape Cod took us 9-10 hrs.

Hi Sue and Soodle
I would love to go to the Boston meet up , if there is one

how was school yesterday sue
Boston would be very cool, I have fond memories of it
Happy Friday, Babble buds!
hello judi
busy, river, but it all went ok - I was pretty wiped out by the end of the day, though
hi, Judi!
I've never been there, but my son visited there, and he loves it
Boston can be fun....lots to do....havent been for a while though
Happy friday,Judi
"constant red bars of doom" - LOL!!
I managed to trip over my own feet (well, and a small bump in the sidewalk), and now am kind of bummed about it
always wanted to do one of those duck boat tours...some day
my knees have been getting worse and I really want to ignore them
duck boats would be fun :-)
did you ice them
no, I ignored them :-)
duck boats?sounds fun!
NOT good sue - you need to take care of them
hope your knees feel better
they've already been replaced, I'm not sure if icing would help
duck boat on wheels - does the tour around the city in and out of the water...pretty cool
did the replacement not work so well?
Duck boats are fun. We did one in Baltimore and one in San Antonio.
that sounds awesome River!
second one never quite healed right (at least not as well as the first) but now they are both achy and getting weak (they collapse under me sometimes)
maybe if we have a babble meetup there, we can do that
sorry to hear that sue - have you been back to the ortho
there are duck boats in the Wisconsin Dells also, which look like fun (as opposed to the rest of the Dells, which is a total tourist trap)
Count me in on the duck boat tour!
no, river, but I am starting to think about it; of course the ortho that did them is not on my current insurance plan :-(
it might be good to get another opinion anyway
I know, I just want to pretend that they will get better
sorry to hear that sue
rubic is so too a word....ugh
good morning everyone, I can't stay to play but I wanted to wish everyone a happy Friday.
happy friday to you too Mom
rubric? we talk about them a lot although I'm not sure what the exact definition is :-)
Hi, Mom. Thanks!

I can't stay either but here I am anyway :-)
I've heard of rubric
hello ((River, Judi and uusue))
Hi Mom!
I am off too - time for breakfast - heve a great day folks
I really can't stay because I am going on a road trip with three of my friends and when they call I am to be on the cu** with a smile on my face
"Bruce" is a word too. Not allowed though.
Have a good day River
sounds like fun, mom!
Sounds like an adventure is about to happen, Mom. Just go with it!

wow, that's amazing...Texas is having a very bad summer, drought conditions, I think 40 some days over 100
yes, that's what my son (in Austin) says
over 50 days now, sea
Hi Glantarell
well, fish is pysgod.... but I have no idea what 'slap' is!
53 or 54
I'm writing that down, great word!
Oh my kje...have you been affected by this?
about 10 years ago we had a severe drought, our well went dry, well drillers were making a killing, they pocketed 10 grand from us
it makes me laugh, because 'fish and chips' (the original UK takeawy/fast food) is called 'pysgod a sglodion' in Welsh - which we all shorten to 'sgod a slod'
hahaha
my yard is brown and crunchy

hi diane
Hi mrp
Gyre and Gimble in the wabe!
beware..... ;-)
Mimsy Borogrove!
one of the choirs I was in, sang Jabberwocky.... it was great fun. I sent it to Molly and she enjoyed it !
Brillig@
years ago, one of my little granddaughter, if watching Alice in Wonderland , would come scooting in wherever I was and stand by me for a few minutes. I'd say "oh oh... is the Jabberwocky there?" .... She didn't like him, and would stay with me until that part was over !!
we still laugh about it, and she's now 23.
I reread the books recently. They are .brillig
it's fun to do that....we comprehend and get different things out of books as we "age" lol
the Anne of Green Gables books were big here in Canada when I was young.... I read them again about 10 years ago and enjoyed them so much.
Lewis Carroll- great political satire- very timely.
I love the White Queen screaming BEFORE she gets stuck with a needle...
I love "Faster, Faster!"
Off with their heads!
she was psychic !
You're nothing but a pack of cards!
my twin stepdaughters dressed up in Alice fashion last hallowe'en and a boyfriend was the March hare.... excellent costumes!
not psychic- just hysterical.
step"granddaughters"..... I meant to say
I don't know all the dialogue, but I'll bet that my granddaughter with aspergers knows EVERY word !
need one of the bu 5/16's... have the one that means wind
I only have one and I don't know what it means.
Ah, it's a seal attached to an official document.
don't have a bu5 yet
Whatta you mean-a/ Thatta lotta bu***!
no- that is the first bu 5/16
i need the second or third bu 5/16
sorreeee.
isn't a seal attached to a document an indicia?
pe7?
it is also a blisterlike or bubblelike prominence of a bone, as that of the tympanic bone in the skull of certain mammals
So I hear,
It's a word I use daily.
From Alice in Wonderland to the typanic bone in the skulls of certain mammals. Where else, but in Babble! Greetings all :-)
Funny, the same exact conversation happened on facebook this morning.
Not really.
apparently another meaning of the bu5 is an ancient Roman pendant, consisting of a rounded box containing an amulet. Such a handy word.
There are some words that are really unecessary.
If I used it in a conversation, I would be asked "what the hell is a bu5?" So I would have to define it anyway.
Afternoon, all. Apparently the Babble seizure from this morning is over.
Hmm. Next time I meet an ancient roman with a pendant, I will be delighted to say Hey! Nice Bu5!
Hello Judi :-)
Or Bu5 for you!
Someone could be offended if I said "hey nice bu5." They might not want attention called to the protrusion on their tympanic bone.
I would be really embarrassed and have to explain, no, I meant your PENDANT! Really I did.
*covers eyes*
I'm just saying.
Meanwhile, the men in the white coats would be standing by....
hi soodle :-)
(((Diane)))) Long time no see. (I was going to say Nice Bu5, but I was afraid of offending you :-)....)
Hi Judi
Hi, di!
my sister is Judi.... and she also calls me Di :-)
Uh oh. Big thunder rolling in.
el 5/12 plz
How is the new baby doing, Diane? Last time I saw you, she had just entered the world.
.....not easily offended.... expecially since I haven't gotten to that word yet.
Ivesy.. have you got the most senior family member el 5/2?
El5/12: most senior one.
she is getting cuter by the day.... look on my profile... there is a pic of her in my father's nightie ( baby's great-great grandfather ) The nightie is 98 years old
Hi Ivesy !!
ty all...
hi lady di, and all
What a doll baby. And such big hair. She could be on "The Jersey Shore".
Oh Diane.... how beautiful! Such a lovely baby. (I love babies with hair - all 3 of mine were egg-like in the hair dept), and how wonderful to have such a family heirloom.
hmmm... is that a tv show ?
Yes, diane. About empty-headed girls and boys from Jersey. Big hair, tans, manicures, pedicures, etc.
The only thing my kids had that was almost 100 years old was their mom!!
I love the hair too... my 3 girls all had lots of hair,...my son had to be held up to the light to see the down !
hi again, all, dropping in very briefly - departmental safety meeting at 3:30 :-P
Hi Sue :-)
LOL that nightie was sent out from England in 1913, and the work on it is lovely.
Hi Sue :-)
hi, diane and soodle!
Did you have heartburn when you were carrying them, Diane? I suffered dreadfully from heartburn, and I was told that the babies would have great heads of hair. Untrue!!
just got back from "meet the professor" where I did meet a few students (none of whom were interested in physics, sadly)
I did have heartburn... but truly, that is an old wive's tale !
maybe I can babble on my phone...
I gave birth to a baldie and adopted a baldie
Yay for Baldie Babies, and Hairy Babies. Yay for babies!!!
they often have the nicest and thickest hair when they finally get some !!
Baldies are just late bloomers.
My son didn't have hair til he was 2 and now he has mega hair at 38
lube
sorry
;-)
dont' worry, bichon, the way today is going the only words I am going to get are going to be from clues (and words) in the chog
and now I am off to be safe....
My three were all follically challenged at birth. Then the hair they grew was very blond, and remained invisible for about 3 years.
Diane.... I remember you posting a pic of an artifact which you couldn't identify. Did you ever get to the bottom of the mystery?
haha.... I love getting a word an hour after the clue was given and think AHA... that's what they meant !!
We never did Soodle.... it's still in my Flickr photos... maybe I'll circulate it again this winter. Jilli might even have an idea... she is so well travelled and read !
This grid seems like such a slog today. Mrff.
If someone could only decipher the inscription on it, it might help solve the mystery.
Well, if Babblers can't help, nobody can!! And I'm with you there, Judi..... this grid is like swimming through treacle!
Treacle.... one of my grandma's words ! Loved it on warm Johnny cake ( cornbread )
diane - was it the inscrption on the handle - they remind me runes - futhark alphabet
it was on the bottom I think.... I'm just trying to find the pictures now... somewhere on my computer among 1,000's of pictures !!
there is one in your photo stream with an 1810 date
dont think i will finish tonight - feel like just tiddling about rather than finding words
yes... and that is engraved on the lid.... by the handle
interesting anyhow, and one day it will be solved. I doesn't belong to me though...belongs to an online friend in Oklahoma ( a wheelchair bound friend )
and I have to go make cookies.... the butter has been soft for 2 hours now !! Be back later....chat was nice :-))
diane - i have down loaded it - i have a friend that does strange languages and might be able to help.
Ok, I am babbling during my meeting, and hoping for clues for the central L.
i have it but i dont know which one it was
Is it an le?
yes - there is the evil stare and le 5 which is french for light and part of the name of a horse race in the uk and could be described as more lower limb
Ok, will look.
hello again friends. Should be working, but I am babbling instead, tra la laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Hello Babblers
next week I go into babble withdrawl.
well, this will be interesting. not relaxing for sure, but should be fun and give me plenty of nice memories
hi wht
Hi Wht! how was Hawaii? Mixi, why withdrawls?
I am going to a Road Scholar program. No time, no internet.
what are you doing mixi?
Hi lbd. Hawaii was wonderfull. It was beautiful, the people we met were friendly and kind, the weather was delightful and spending time with my wife on the beach and snorkelling was magnificent.
The only real downside was the length of the flight.
most excellent, Wht! a second honeymoon?
wht, I have always said the same two things... The best snorkeling I've ever done was in hawaii. And I don't think I'll ever sit in a plane again for that long!
That wasn't the plan but it turned out that way. It was our 30'th anniversary.
Mixi, what will you be studying?
hmm, maybe in another 7 years, hubz and i can have our first honeymoon! lol
it's a music festival and a shakespear play.
honeymoon is a state of mind, isn't it?
you'll be having too much culture and fun to miss babble!
in the mountains of virginia. I'm going with my mother-in-law.
probably, dorens, but i'd like the pampering too!
babbling will restore my sanity. will allow the children to watch tv (shh, don't tell their parents) and i will be here.
you deserve the pampering dawg... won't he pamper you?
mmmmm,,rare chinese take out food night.beef with veggies and almonds, sweet and sour chicken balls,a dozen breaded jumbo tiger shrimp and veggie fried rice:))..and possibly enough msg to preserve me till i am 104! :)
a's ambushed.
my loving hubz is very good at trying to pamper me. It's a mindset for me to have someone else fetch and carry! ;0
go wht!, hi crossy
gotcha! well then, I hope someday you'll get it. I've had it, but a good loving hubz is better than all the five star hotels put together
so true, Dorens. we try not to forget how lucky we are to have each others companionship.
it's so easy to lose sight of that though
c's are ceased
105 left. sheesh.
B's bounced.

ty Dorens.
where in WV, Dorens ?
Dorens, this is not where it gets impossible, this is where you get help from your friends.
thanks wht (i will be in arlington tomorrow, visiting my sister's new home before i go get my kids)
Name that animated villianess.
just driving through... on route 81, went to stephens city to visit dear 88 year old aunt
cruella?
ach! you tricked me. now i need to sit in pb?
Ding, ding, ding, we have a winner in Dorens. Cruella DeVille.
No PB for you Dorens. The word you typed is not a valid word in the grid.
y'know, I read that book back in the late 50's or early 60's and i really enjoyed it
And besides, I can grant you a royal pardon.
i dunno, wht, i think i should have said cr***la
ah, wel that's another story
royal pardons are always appreciated
hmmm, all i can give you is a royal pain! lol
you don't need to do that dawg, there are others close by who do it frequently
Molly gave me a crown the other day for getting nbt on the same word that gave me fireworks. Now I have found something that the King of Babbleonia can actually do.
I certainly can't get Enable to behave.

wtg dorens
adjectival form of element 65 (which ends in -ium)
whoooo hooooo DORENs
That is a word I have always been grasping for when I have been describing things. :^)
yes, me too :-)
and does Enable really never eat creme brulee? Enable is really missing out...
Yes, I tried brulee, too.
I also tried 'bruce' but Enable was having no4 of that either!
it does not take an indian samosa either
But it allows naan bread, crossy.
indeed
go figure...
I found a lot of words it wouldn't take today.
I think it allows 'curry' and 'ri4. LOL
it does not allow 'basmati"
I don't think 'spaghetti' has ever been in the grid, but it alllows 'pasta'.
crossy - but it allows 'jasmine', 'long' & 'grain' and 'short'...
but does not allow grappa:((
I think it also allows 'risotto'.
we must teach enable all the international delicacies
Enable wants us to eat and drink in a healthy fashion. LOL
you can find out by typing any word in the "add word" box - if it takes it it will say that it "does not exist in the puzzle"
crossy - all is not lost; Enable does allow 'bacon'.
If Enable want's us to be so healthy, why does it drive us to drink?
uusue - I'm just winging it with years of experience on Babble.
wht - LOL!
mmm,bacon
np, I am just a geek :-)
what - nothing wrong with Adam's Ale aka H2O aka water, but I'm drinking a rather nice Southern Australian Sauvignon Blanc right now.
aussie wine has really come a long way
sounds lovely, jac!
Howdy folks
hi, origami!
Hello origami
We are just here getting bent out of shape by Enable.
sue - geeks are good; you never know when you might need them in an emergency. I'm thinking of the TV series 'A Town Called Eureka' right now when Douglas Fargo uttered the classic line, 'Oh my God! I've just scraped the ISS. Now they'll never let me be an astronaut!'
What's Enable?
and after years of babbling we are quite twister :-)
lol, jac!
and what I meant to say was twisted, sigh
Hello origami. Enable is the dictionary (somewhat out of date) that Babble uses to say what words we can and can't have.
ru
I see. Sometimes I'm confused about what's allowed and what's now. I'll blame it on Enable from now on :-)
It gives us something to complain about on slow nights.
always blame enable
i do
We used to blame FMitch at one time, but we're letting her off the hook for now.
tbh,i have not seen fm in a while
Origami - it may amaze you that Enable has never heard of the word 'internet'. It doesn't knows about emails either.
crossy - FM's mum died.
There are some serious gaps in enable indeed!
thats because computer speak is less than 20 or 30 years olds lol
:( i am sorry..i did not know
The Scrabble dictionary now allows ebayer, ebayers, ebaying and ebayings. Enable wouldn't know where to go to sell stuff other than a market.
crossy - I'm not sure FM has been in to say that.
The Scrabble dictionary doesn't allow some of the words that Enable apparently does either. Oh well.
ok, i must bid you al a good night my babble buddies,as a comfy bed and James Herriot are calling me.tc all and happy babbling...poink!
origami - well, that's half the fun of it, remembering what's allowed in which game, if you play a lot of words games like wot I do. LOL
Love the Herriot
Night crossy
night, crossy!
G'night crossy
hi all....clue please for cr4/7
fern
Oops sorry, pb box for me
'Night crossy. I hope you end up in a remote Yorkshire farmhouse befuddled by too much elderberry wine rather than in a field with a blizzard blowing and your hand in the back end of a struggling ewe.x
cr4/7 place for baby to sleep
cr4/7 is where crossy will be crawling soon.
evenin all
thanx!!!
hi, flask and eva!
and bea!
cr4/7 is also another word used when you revise at the last minute for your exams.
the ca words are making me grumpy.
Hi EvaN!
Hiya Flask.
Hi all.....
Hi Eva and flask
came to chat while i wait for my nails to dry a bit. ;)
uu, pretend you are on a nice beach in the land of the ca6,27
ok, dinner time! see you all later!
by uu
Anyone need more clues before I go?
EvaN - I suppose, should we see you on webcam, that you're blowing and puffing on your nails and generally looking like a looney? You do realise that if you've put 3 coats on they WILL take more than half an hour to harden and that you WILL muck up at least one of them before you leave the house?
what - not me.
Bye sue!
only 2 thin coats so far, and now blowing. i am planning on using my nail-stamping system, so i do need to let them dry quite a bit before getting to that part. only going to bed after that, so not a chance i will mess them up...lol
I once bought a kitten-shaped nail dryer. It didn't really work, just saved a bit of my puff.
no* blowing
thankfully, this color is very thin + thus dries pretty darned fast
Ah, going to bed when you think your nail varnish is dry... only to wake up to find linen cross-prints on your nails.
i call that "texture"
its totally planned. ;)
LOL
well good night all. Happy Babbling and nail drying.
EvaN - unless someone in the fashion world suddenly makes 'texture' a part of the nail look, do you think you will get away with that?
Goodnight wht.
It's not 'Hollywood', is it, EvaN? LOL
i AM the fashion-maker around here...lol
i start all the trends. ;)
First re6/21, please?
I beg to differ, EvaN! Not only did I start the trend for ridged and/or textured nail varnish, I was also wering nude shoes back in 1983!
Bzz - to remember.
ty, jac.
*weAring, I meant.
jac, i meant around HERE ::points to her living room::
y/w Bzz.
EvaN - that's cheating! LOL
And a clue for pe7?
NM
fine material for bedsheets
Night all!
pe7 = fine cotton or linen.
Oh, i see Bzz did a peri! LOL
nails are stamped. wait a few minutes for a little drying, then top coat it is!
bi 6/27 pls
bi 6/27 a brand of pen + Pres. Reagan
thank you
yw red
