my grand daughter has presented us with a baby girl ( six weeks earlier than expected) she went to work as usual and started bleeding - ruptured placenta- fortunately she was at a MAJOR hospital here where she works in pediatric oncology... ) within 15 minutes they had transported her to her delivery hospital and a cesarian was performed- mother and baby are doing well and we are so grateful for the blessing

well, I just taught an introductory physics class for engineers - 23 men and 2 women, not counting me...not sure how weird that is, exactly, but it does put me outside the norm :-)

yeah, I'm in the construction industry - there are more women now than when I graduated, but we're still in the minority, especially in the engineering and *hard* construction areas

java, I not only use it but have worked in it for nearly 15 years. It was an all-volunteer library until about 5 years ago. Now we have 2 pros and a paid techie -- otherwise about 150 volunteers keep it going. See http://saltspring.bclibrary.ca/

years ago i was working on the ministry building where all the govt cheques come from and was as it happens renting a unit to a single mom who was fighting an ex from hell.i had to go unclog her toilet and from the corner of my eye saw her hunting for diapers and feeding the baby straight milk instead of enfelac or similac.stood up from the toilet,looked in the fridge,looked in the cupboards,tossed mom and baby in my work truck.we drove to my job sitre,i brought them up the back stairs,right up to the closed board room doors where they were in session.i opened the door,strode right in with mom and baby,and said "this mom and baby are starving" mabye check your damn charts and cut her a cheque" i told mom i would wait for her downstairs and i left her there for them to get a good long look...

People need to get over themselves. A Missouri teacher is suing her State because of a State law that prohibits teachers from being Facebook "friends" with students (defined as anyone under 18 who attend or used to attend the school where the teacher works.) Because her kids fall into that definition, Mommy has take this to court. Because she can't be "friends" with her kids on Facebook????
