late flop
Hi Jill.
oh oh dc
wow dc bet that was weird ... hi btw
hi seain
hello, dee, jilli, faux, snags, nan, flosey, et al
it has been quite the week :)
Oh jilli? I did your Babble cake grid.
did I hear correctly? That there is no fault line under your part of the country?
hello dc
Hi seain.
this is a newly discovered fault running from about Lynchburg, VA to Washington, DC
Babble cake grid????
yes.
other day's 5.8 was biggest here since 1867.
when did they find it??
my brother did his residency in Lynchburg
there have been more quakes here in last 3 years than in my previous years. The other day wi the 5.8, snags.
Here jilli: http://tinyurl.com/4xblsu5
Check the comment I left.
neil, I don't know what you mean
oh -- will look...
I left a silly comment somewhere else on another cake photo too.
what was the last 7 please? I have re and or...
Oh, I see -- pini made that
re7,40
Yes, I saw the photo of her doing it.
dc -I didn't think there was a fault line ther. Where did you hear it??
As for names, I see Pini and Stid in the grid.
I have re 7/40
just need the 2 lone e's for nbt
In the cake grid.
And you!
USGS reported it yesterday
ea 5/12 and er 5/12 nan
wow! Glad I'm not in NY any more!
ty dee
neil, that was the point -- all the babblers there were also in the cake grid
yw
nbt, nbs
wtg
HAH! I am on the Madrid fault which they expect to go any day!
Can't win!
all these have been in the Mineral, VA area. I wonder when the North Anna plant will come fully back on line.
wtg nan
The silly comment is here jilli: http://tinyurl.com/4y9lvyw
in fact, some who were absent were also in it.
this wis the 6th 2+ in the last week centered there, ranging from 3 to 5 Km deep.
Well they have to be sure it's safe. Does it effect you?
Oh all of their names were in the cake? I don't know them all but I see a few I recognize.
aaah - nothing was mentioned of the others
yes, it and Calvert Cliffs are the two closest major power producers to here.
most have been small, and since the big one, mostly between midnight and 3 local time
oboy - sorry seain - hope things get better but there is always that stupid hurricane!
I never realised how many of those plants were around there!
will be thinking of you dc along with my nephew and his family.
which looks like it'll pass off the coast, so where i am is expected only to get wind and pretty clouds over the weekend.
Atlantic side of Delmarva will get a storm surge and a bit more. THey've begun evacuating the coasts in NC, VA, MD, and DE and parts of NJ
Well i hope you stay clear. But I REALLY want my ex-landlord to be blown to kingdom come! That's on Long Island!~
good morning all, good I have a clue for the 8 please
Hi Jivingjenny.
hello jenny
hi neil
hello flosey
Woah. Tell us how you really feel, hootowl?
I guess there's a good reason he's your EX-landlord?
Neil -- I saw your comment -- and I added mine.
That SOB should be flayed athen drawn & quartered ! OK?
Oh ok jilli. Checkin' it.
Long Island and Southern/Eastern New England and into Nova Scotia are estimated to get hardest hit.
that's a true punishment hoot.
:)
NOT something I want to go into here.
Im hoping it wasn't any type of harrassment.
Where, jilli? Can't see one from you there?
On either photo?
Good - with luck it'll hit my ex-job site too.
sounds like a horrible experience, and i'm glad it's in your past, hoot.
Exactly, Seain.
sending you a cyber hug hoot (((((((( hug ))))))))))
Well it lead me to my BF who is absolutly great so I try not to get to me!
nite all. poof
Oh, glad some good came out of it!
sorry, neil, I forgot to hit Post Comment. It's done now -- on the latter picture.
:) glad that some good came of it
Thank you snags - I really appreciate that!
Oh ok, checking again.
Oh lord yes. he's the best thing that ever happened to me!
oddly, this aftershock moved the couch, but main quake did not. It was like someone slowly shook out the floor like a tablecloth or sheet.
I replied.
g'night snags
Thank you too neil!
Hey guess what jilli? I'm even in that cake grid. Seriously. And the letters of my name are even in the right order too!
You're welcome, hootowl. :)
nite snags
now back to finding words!
pini must have second sight, lol!
can anyone clue the e at the bottom of the 2nd colum
please
there's a crack in the wall next to the door now that wasn't there before
To wear away? [rocks, earth]
I think that's the correct 'E'?
er*sive was in yesterday's grid :)
thanks neil what about the r in the right hand column for nbt please
To re*** to something? [make mention of it]
that comes from the middle r
fireworks
congrats, dee :)
ty!
wtg Dee
ty flosey
whee for dee!
ty jili
seain - I think that's a bit too close for comfort!
Mazel tov, Dee!
:)
Jenny - I think you want re7 and 8 - sort of like an umpire in a wrestling match or football game (and past tense)
Oh does it, Jenny? Sorry. Still having problems figuring out which words come from which tiles sometimes. I guess I'll get it eventually.
Oh yes, I see.
and hi, all, just getting here. :)
hi rbud
hi rbud
ty rbud!
Oh so it goes from left to right when the tiles are in the same row?
Top to bottom and left to right? Right?
yes, and the upper letter takes precedence
right
no - goes pretty much where it wants to
Yes, that's what I mean... but the one on the left does too then?
:D
there, submitted damage in unit due to the earthquake to the mgmt. They had no category for it, not surprising.
Are you trying to confuse me, hootowl?
That's no challenge. It's all too easy.
yes, just as you said, neil
weird, the 24hr call center is not in.
yep, I think that sounds right, if you're meaning which order it chooses to start the word with? (wow, now I confused myself, lol)
no neil
Yeah, something like that?
words always start from the upper leftmost letter they can start from
I think they may still be having problems with cell phone seain
no one home at the 24 hour place? that's just wrong! ;p
i mean, no one in. even the auto-ticketing system is partially offline. Wonder if they had damage at the call center.
but after that they wander at will!
try a landline if you still have one
stuck on the je 6 -- clues?
one I have is pt
je + woodwind instrument necessity.
Unless you mean the other je6, past tense of a je4 word?
ty neil
yw cybernan.
thanks, neil! :)
TY neil - that was my last j!
Hello all...
*!* ta da *!* -- glad it was quick and easy -- golf in the morning and kids arriving in the afternoon :)
you're welcome too, hootowl.
evening, jellen
ty neil
Hi Jellen! about time you got here.
yw jilli.
big, but lovely picture, jellen :)
yay nan -- and have a good game
hi jellen
good night everyone -- don't know when I'll get back
Thanks...should I use jilli's editing site?
Jellen, email me that photo please.
No, I'll resize it for you quickly.
i'd say so, jellen :)
Actually never mind, I can probably save it from here.
I actually didn't realize it had loaded...
haha, when I didn't see Jellen's pic in the usual spot, I thought maybe I'd done something to the profiles with an AdBlock extension - been trying to eliminate the right column ticker in Facebook, yuck!
all good :)
It looks like a lovely picture, jellen -- hope it can be shrunk
i love adblock+, most of the right column of FB all gone :D
Resizing it now, Jellen.
Of course it can jilli. just watch.
I don't doubt it, neil.
I've got it all gone now, except for game suggestions in some places. But I know folks can still see what I'm doing, even though I can't see it any more. that bugs me.
i can only see what peeps are doing when i'm in a game
and that's new
like in the last week
apps.facebook.com###rightCol
that got rid of the ticker list for me, but the empty space is still there.
that one doesn't bother me like the adds do, but good to know, thanks :)
Actually, I think I resized it myself...
It's finished Jellen... want me to transfer it to you on MSN chat?
After all this work?
yep, it's all better, Jellen! :D
Okay, neil...send it on!
just signing in.
yes, it's better, jellen, but maybe a bit squished?
if anyone is interested, this blog has details about the recent quake in Virginia, and great details about faults and geology: http://tinyurl.com/43e4r5a
Lovely picture Jellen
Yes, I thought it might be, jilli...
but only slightly, you still look lovely, even if we can't see your beautiful eyes quite as clearly at this scale :)
I don't really want to know every little move my friends make, too silly. Plus it says I am playing games when I am only answering gift requests, irritating.
maybe neil's version won't be , jellen
yes, a game that fully loads, which GOT must to answer reqs, it shows.
It was a bit squished, because it wasn't a square picture to start with. I made this one square.
And sized it to 300 x 300 pixels... max. size allowed for a Babble bio.
Plus I hate that my friends know when I play ignorant little guilty pleasure games like (whisper) diner dash, hahaha! ;p
diner dash is fun
Here I am, unsquished thanks to neil!
ah, the crickets and cicadas started up again a few min ago.
indeed! looking good, jellen
I play a couple of games that I never post from, just for the heck of it. But now they all know, lol! :P
Weird. I had to reload your bio page even after opening it again, Jellen.
well done Neil, lovely Jellen
IFF we're in a game when you're doing it.
When it first popped up your photo didn't look any different. Then I reloaded the page and saw the one I just sent you.
Oh, that is nicer, good job, neil!
Thanks Seain, jilli and flosey.
I am looking for the 2nd column, 4th row E...stats, anyone?
And rbud.
yep, I had to reload the profile page, too, but that's life in Babbleland. :)
er5 is something water does to earth, so does wind
life's rough sometimes huh?
Oh, nm...Thanks, dc!
indeed it is, neil :)
Yep, but what can ya do?
ah yes, the lovley Jellen, unsquished! Well done, neil!
just burn off steam a little sometimes I guess.
indeed, and smile and go on
thanks jilli.
she is lovely.
Aww...thank you! *blush*
and live it up a little.
yay, nbt at last! and 83 words to find still... :)
Even in the heat of an NV desert summer, dressed like this. [not one of my more sane moments]: http://tinyurl.com/NJL-BM
what sort of tan lines does that lead to, one wonders, haha! ;p
but great pic! :)
Haha!
Another taken there: http://tinyurl.com/AML-NJL-BM
[Burning Man festival btw.]
And before you ask, I'm straight. Not the guy in the foreground, but I am.
dr5/14? cleu please
you at the playa, neil?
d + re 4/5
Kind of like a past tense of the word before it? Kind of. Ugh, hard to clue. Or like a property document with an extra consonant after the first letter?
past tense of the 4
am I what, Seain?
thanks neg
at burning man? some of my friends started arriving there today.
It's Neil, sammysmom.
at the beach...
I'm not there now, obviously. I'm in Charlotte, NC right now.
I haven't been back to Burning Man since then.
that's what i thought.
but you may have moved on :)
A has though. He went back the next summer too.
i've debated going one of these years, likely hook up with my Seattle crew if i do.
kinda wish i'd gone back when.
Oh yes?
Laura's dad went a few years ago with his wife.
yeah, almost went back in the beginning, but was clueless about camping at the time, so decided that it wasn't worth the bother.
hell, hadn't been west of Chicago at that point.
Something is making the chog jerky
Oh there's not that much to know. Hell, we just winged it.
Sorry, must be me. I'll try to sit still.
Silly neil
lol! :)
how so, jilli? I am noticing a pause in typing myself, I keep typing but the letters start to delay, but no actual chog movement.
yep, pretty much.
It's smoother now
it was jerky when scrolling, the way it is when there's a big icon picture, but it's ok now,
oh, I see, know what you mean about the big pics.
It's not me anymore!
Guess who the woman in the dark hair and jacket similar colors to mine is in this photo? http://tinyurl.com/LL-NJL-CBSB2
Can't tell much, can you?
no, it's jerky again
Who, neil?
can't tell... or guess?
don't I look like a younger, male version of her?
the one in the black jacket totally looks like any number of my friends.
Well, I was going to mention similar smiles...
Yep Seain, we went out with one of your friends.
bore da pawb - good morning all
hello Glant
We weren't gonna tell you though.
Hi flosey
Hi, Glant
Ummm, bore da? That's all I know how to say in Welsh.
oh that and "cwm".
well done Neil
hello glant
cwm = valley
hi Jilli
Oh! And iechyd da! gotta say that when you're toasting someone, right?
Hi Jellen - nearly missed you out
good morning, glantrell
I know, it's a valley, dale, gulley, etc.
I thought this grid was a doddle at 117 words, but 40 words in and I am slowing down!
Mornin dc
It's easy, Glantarell... no really hard or strange words there. Clues? Ask away.
I'll wait till I get desperate for the clues - probably after work tonight
Ok. Work with the list if stuck and you'll zip through it.
may I have a clue for fo6 please?
It's like the word before, flosey.
Except with that extra vowel.
thanks neil, great clue
An enemy beginning, same ending.
yw flosey.
I'm doing something different tomorrow...
different to what Jellen?
what, Jellen?
naot
naod
I'm going to apply for admission at the OU Grad School...just to audit a class...
ooops
No harm, Glant...
good for you, Jellen
is what you call auditing what we call inspecting? quality control?
nice, jellen, good for you
It's my first step toward possibly going back to school for a second master's degree...
go for it Jellen - best thing I ever did was go back to school in my 30s.
Auditing means I'll take the course for no academic credit
ah, tht's a new concept for me - we either have accredited courses or non accredited here
the only way you could do a course without credit would be not to turn up for the exam
The course is accredited, but I'll not be graded...
why would you not take the credit, Jellen?
auditing means you sit through it to see what it's like to see if you want to enroll for credit.
tht's just not a possibility here
ah, I see, thanks dc
It's been so long since I've been in grad school, and this is very new material to me...
sometimes, you audit a difficult class before taking it for credit.
smart move
auditing is MUCH cheaper than taking for credit at most schools, as no grading is required of the instructor
It's like dipping my toe in...plus, I'll get information I want without so much stress...
that does make sense
yeah you will
The master's program I'm looking at is at another institution...
They offer an MA in English with a technical/professional writing emphasis...
Oops! Killed chat...
this is jumping around again
no, Jellen, it's acting up
*gives last rites to chat*
hi ru
Hi, ruru
hi you two
I'm ready for bed but only 6 to go, would love to finish tonight
lovely picture of you jellen.
I think I am very, very tired! But I need one more word! re 7/32 please so I can go to bed!
hi ruru.
hi neil
afternoon all :)
i only have re 6's hoot..s orry
re7,32 = color and vegetable growing underground?
ok
Hi, mrp
hiya mr. p
and hoot
hi mrp.
ok, finished
hello mrp
hi ruuster! hi jellen! hi neil ! hello et al :)
or part of a plant that's underground.
OH TYTYTY _ never thought to go that way!
Fireworks, jilli?
hi jilli!! ((hugs)) !
excellent jilli.. now flosey will have to finish tonight
hello ru
It's a small and pretty easy grid.
dc, I have a question...
yes jellen
hi jilli..lurking?
Hooray for jilli!!!
shamefully, only got 209 words yesterday... and it was a reasonably easy grid :)
firebirds and good night!
I was visible for quite a while, ru, then went into lurk mode to concentrate
congrats jilli.
hooray for hoot!
Hooray for hoot!
ty neil
i just got back from the baseball game jilli
which game, ruru?
SF Giants and San Diego Padres
I won some front row seats to the game
I guess you want the Giants...?
really good guess there jilli
Oh wow! Catch any foul balls?
I'm from San Diego.
[originally]
front row!! awesome!
almost.. we gave it to a little kid and made his day
sorry neil.. it didn't go well for San Diego tonight
terrific, ru!
I think I'll survive ru, somehow.
might be tough.
not that you'll need to go into therapy over this loss.. but..
but? it's the "but" part I'm wondering about.
no buts about it.. actually..
Oh hey, ruru?
I see you've been doing pretty good on OMGPOP in that Letterblox game? I added you on there so sign in and check for that when you can? Have to play you at that game sometime!
It's hard to find players who are challenging enough.
I think Feather is the best candidate there neil.. she's really good at it
We do play.
She is really good. I want to get several together in the same match though.
I actually am not that good at it.. too many accepted words that are non-words for my taste.
Oh yes?
You got up to level 18 though. That's really good.
I find that in weboggle too
I'm still at level 15... or maybe 16 now.
What about some of the weird "babblets" though?
yes.. that is one of the flaws here too
rare words are still words :)
Yes, Seain.
some of the words are getting me confused
monkey time!!
grids are like that, mrp :) You'll be offline for a bit from Thursday AM Eastern Australian time?
*waiting for DC to use ETHS in a sentence*
dc, will go on FB now
eths, plural of eth is an archaic letter of the english alphabet, replaced with TH. eth still used in Icelandic
k
Oh cool, thanks for the add on Flickr jilli. If you're still here? If not I'll have to thank her later. Or elsewhere.
I'm here, neil, but about to head for bed.
Oh ok, good night and take care.
I am going to race jilli to bed.. I'm beat too
Goodnight, ruru. I better head there too. I'm on the east coast right now. 3:37 am.
nite
Night!
Goodnight all....*poof!
Back after wandering...
Did I miss everyone's departure?
Guess so...goodbye to any lurkers...
i had to leave in a hurry about 2 hours ago so apologise if this has been clued before. Can anyone clue the 8 and the R in the RH column for nbt and nbs
hi jenny re7 is the official in a sports match re8 is pt

Morning, all! (or anyone...)
morning uusue :)
hi, zoom!
how are you liking the grid?
I like that it is small - maybe I can even finish today!
and I got nbs (thanks to the chog) and nbt in 26 words!
time to exercise...
know what you mean....sometimes doesn't seem worth starting when they're really big.
well, I like the intellectual exercise even if I don't find all the words, and the chat is always fun!
and now I really am going to do my exercises - bbl!
i'm impressed! what exercise do you do?
sorry, was off doing them! I do a bit of weights every morning, then walk back and forth to work (a mile each way). Not a lot but it helps. Eventually I may work up to doing more but this has been my routine for a couple of years now.
evening all :)
hi, mrp! How are you doing? been thinking about you...
hi sue! doing ok thanks darling :) dealing with the daily grind... lice in daughter's hair at the moment!
and last week when I told her that she had lice, she ran away saying 'no!! i just have dandruff'... the last night she is crying cause she finds a live adult in her hair!
got to luv being a parent of a teen!
ewww - have dealt with that before, no fun!
So much work to get rid of lice.
morning, bea!
and bye for now, time for shower and breakfast!!
halfway, NBT and NBS - time to make some breakfast for this dark rainy morning
mornin babblers!
Hi Eva
how goes it, molly?
Pretty well, and you?
i showed up to work. i get points for that, right?
Many points.
we can just ignore the fact that i skipped running class last night...
Skipping is good exercise : )
heh, if only it were the same thing...
i basically too a "mental health day" off of running. monday wasnt a great session for me, and i could tell my mood wasnt better yet. plus, my stomach started hurting while i was making dinner + only ended up getting worse throughout the evening.
Taking a break from things can be beneficial.
good morning babblers
Hey Annie
id like to take a break from a lot of things, unfortunately, life must move onward, right? heh
hi Molly, how is the grid today...I skipped yesterday because I spent the day before doing the grid and nothing was done. Addicted?
Not bad Annie. I only dabble at the big ones. I simply don't have the hours in the day required to finish them.
Good Morning everyone - grid is not too bad - in 30 minutes I am down to 29 left and havent listed.
Hi River..good for you :)
I gave up yesterday with 100 left
I didnt start that one...I would have been glued to the computer...didnt have the day to devote
name that proper noun....Yankee shortstop Derek *****
jeter
ding ding ding~!
Dorothy's doggie is in the grid today
I once worked for Off Track Betting and we had a lot of Spanish speaking customers and one of the customers called me je4 which means boss in spanish and I thought he was calling me heifer (and I am not that heavy). It was very funny.
lol Annie
I called him to task and when he explained it it was very funny. He callled me je4 from then on with respect. I was the "boss" of that particular branch at that time.
:), laughing here too, Annie, it's a term of endearment, and he probably called you "jefa" which sounds more like heifer !!!!
hi jbv...we got along very well after that. He really was a very nice customer.
I used to be called that at work, too, only by my closed colleagues :)
that was it, jbv! LOL
*closest (not closet!)
I thought of him when I saw the word.
does anyone have all the F's - I need one more, have: 3 fe4 and one fe5
I am missing one as well JBV
got it - alt spelling of fe 5
I went into the kitchen for another cup of coffee. Anyone?
is it also a 5 JBV?
fe 6, sorry
it's that British thing - double vowel
Good morning all; how many words today (hopefully not as many as yesterday). Thanks
117
thanks annie
youre welcome
hi again, all, breakfast time here
is the last fe a 5 or a 6?
Morning Everyone!
fe 6
thnx
hi car. :)
Hello Annie!
hi, car, wv, annie, jbv!
How is Dylan?
was afraid I'd killed the chog for a minute there...
Hello Uusue!
He is great Annie!
hi sue, car, wvteach
good to hear, car.
Hi JBV!
good morning all
Hi WV!
hi teach :)
For some reason though, I don't think Dylan & Zach are really looking forward to school starting!!! Hmmmm. ; p
Neither are my grands, one of which is named Dylan.
Great name!
phantom: toredor
I loved that name.
*Love
try it in SPanish, car to 6
ooh, thx, jbv!
Ugh. I thought that WAS Spanish!
toreador, I think
jbv, What was the result of your interview?
it was fine, Annie - the professor was eager to practice her English, so she didn't insist on doing the whole thing in Italian :) - she helped me select a course, but I still have to get the permission of the professor who is going to teach it, she said it would be no problem, just show up on the first day of class!
Oh wonderful!
Wonderful!
Cinema and Italian Literature - sounds interesting
Yes, it does. Have fun.
oh, that does sound fun, jbv!
took me forever to find the bullfighter as it is not the bullfighter spelling but spanish for one of his supporting team as it were
ah, the age difference, I told her I'd prefer to NOT have to watch the films in class, I'd rather watch them at home....
Good morning Crossy!
howdy car:))
she told me they tried that, but found out most of the students were not watching the films, but just reading the reviews!!!!
morning, crossy!
howdy sue;))
hi crossy :)
Howdy
why am I not surprised, jbv?
howdy herin
hello herin :)
How you all?
hi crossy and hi herin
someone please fill me in on mrp..i have not been on much last few days.what has happened with the dr visit and what do they suspect?
LOL, sue - so typical and so sad,
don't know much, crossy, but from what I glean it seems that the cancer may have spread to her bones
and hi, herin!
Oh no! I hadn't heard.
oh dear, so sorry to hear that
Hello Herin!
:((
she has some kind of surgery scheduled next Tuesday but I don't know any details beyond that
anyway I have to go to work - keep mrp in your thoughts, everyone, and keep folding those proteins! (mine is running continuously on my home computer - can't do it at work)
sorry to hear that
Bye Sue! I hope you have a great day!
indeed,we must do our bit and we shall pray for mrp from this end
Yes
for those still interested, the folding at home info is still in my profile
Stats please for either R word from the right?
and jmc is in the lead with a score of 55,000 or so
re 5/10
a old style being fashionable again
That came off the other R unfortunately.
:(
OK...time for a break. Have good day everyone.
for those that play garden of time, please check the babble got forum..crossy has found something very interesting
So how is you all?
not bad .any day on this side of the dirt is a good day
interessante, Mr Crossy... on a related note, if you must actually HIDE gifts, please do so around my wonders from now on. ;)
True. My cat was sleeping on the back of the sofa and she rolled off unto me and stuck her claws in me
actually eva,as long as it is within the radius of the word balloon it will work it seems
and with my wonders laid out as they are,i have great covergae
coverage
see, i have all my wonders grouped together. but in light of this news, i may have to rearrange strategically...heh
:))
and do not forget to click on the balloon that floats over your friends heads as they walk in yer map as it is worth some good points
oh, i know that one. :)
there:)) all presents cleaned up:))
Eva, How is your Dad?
dad is great! home and well, and its like that week from Hades never happened.
Thank goodness Eva

hi all
Hi Carlee
and very nice eva :)
hi herin
DOH! my "words with friends" app on my phone is all jacked up. may have to uninstall + reinstall. ::grumbles::
hi carlee :)
hi again, all, here briefly just before class (and I forgot I was going to go to the calculus class that is paired with my physics class, which meets at 8:30 - oh well. Maybe next week.)
hi annie...
<---- loves calculus
impressive, carlee! you are rare!
didnt say i was particularily GOOD at it...but i enjoyed it...
<----------would love a clue for re 7 /32
like a whol ebunch of puzzles :)
<--- would clue the re7/32 if she had it
just got here annie...i have 4 words..and i can guarantee not a single re word
exactly, carlee! That's a big part of what I like about it too (also physics)
carlee, can I borrow your purple pencil so I can erase that re 7 ?
<---toddles off to get teh purple crayons
I have an re7/40, would that help?
uu, I have that one..thanks
Is there 2 Res?
i have the purple crayons
re7/32..........color + plant part
carl, may I have one?
go for it annie..there are enough for everyone
me too sue..i always loved physics...especially optics and fluids
thanks, carlee *continues to wipe that re 7 out* ah, a clue from kalea
Thanks I thought I tried that
oh, I remember that word! kind of like a carrot that's the wrong color
kinda like a beet sue :)
fluids (beyond the first-year level) get really complicated really fast! My field was experimental elementary particle physics (quarks, leptons, gluons, that sort of thing)
<--- has a mental block against beets
yeap..that stuff totally escapes me sue
thanks kalia *gives crayon back to carlee*
most welcome.......just doing my part to save the purple crayon from getting used up
mmmm stupid last 25

yay for time
I have been napping
Herin there are two re7s and an or7
so is anyone in the direct path for irene?
thanks
Thankyou I didn't see that
and crossy did u get the wild weather last evening?
we did we had orders to take cover, but it was moving very fast and went east of us and left us untouched.i have no reports atm of damage to the east but i am sure someone got it to the southeast of us..was very bad
... most I've heard is trees and power lines down ...
and as for irene, look like myrtle beach may get a touch of it on sat.bahamas got it early this morn
missed us too....there was rumour a tornado touched down in ailsa craig...but the sirens went off and a red alert was in place...
... heard of three ... ailsa craig, lucan and shelburne
... and almost burlington
we had about 30 sec of rain..not even enough for water to run down my driveway and get the concrete under my car wet
goderitch is still trying to put itself back together from the one 2 daysn ago
my son adn I are on the volunteer list for goderich... waiting for a phone call to head up
strange weather carlee,we are not known for this, then all of a sudden we are tornado central lol
... saw the pictures ... it'll take them years to rebuild the old town
We have had perfect weather which I am needing some rain
as of yesterday the downtown core was still closed
I can't even believe you get tornados
Our weather dudes are saying we will be under tropical storm watch late Saturday through Sunday.
they will never rebuild dosef....cost too much for insurance companies to rebuild what was there..the old buildings will be dosed down and something modern will replace them
they used to be a rare thing herin for this area
... there's seems to be a bad tornado in Ontario about every ten years ... ... and a bunch of little ones ... ... we're at the very end of tornado alley ... we just get bad thunderstorms mostly
but were they "REALLY" crossy...we have urban sprawl...and everyone has cell phone with cameras...how many happened in a farmer field that hurt no one...and no one saw it happen?
I heard sadly that in the wake of Irene animal shelters are putting down animals
before the last 2 years or so,it was 1980 when i was in the barrie orangeville tornado...the weather is changing..warmer winters, more stuff like this
irene has not hit usa yet herin
It is just sad
and we didnt have the technology to see the potential for tornados...there was a big one in sarnia years ago ( 40...) a bad one in woodstock in 80's a bad one in london south in late 80's
... I can remember four since 1979 ... woodstock, barrie, parry sound and huntsville ... so unfortunately for goderich we were due ... ... don't expect another big one for 5 - 8 years ... just thunder and lightning
all this warming is going to change things, and not for the better
... true
we had a small one here in thornbury-town of the blue mtns 2 yerars ago
i think they likely happened...yes weather is changing..but i also think that with urban sprawl and cell phones and the availablility of cheap technology to spot potential..we are just more aware...30 years ago we didnt have a tv show about chasing tornados to make people curious and aware...all we had was the wizard of oz
we had a couple water spouts a couple years back but i have not seen a green sky in a few years
it is much like cancer carlee, have you noticed that everyone you know has had it or know someone who does? same thing with weather.we are more skilled at spotting it i suppose and perhaps all this tchnology has some use after all;0
Herin, you're right. In anticipation of being in the direct path of a hurricane, many shelters do decrease their excess populations.
... there have always been water spouts and "dust devils" ... and a few small ones ... but the big ones which do seriouis damage have been very occasional ... though that may be changing
I just think that is sad because what happens if they accidently put down someones pet
There are some amazing stories about what the animals at The National Zoo did right before the earthquake. They have a sixth sense that we do not.
I find animals much more loyal than humans
( herin..on that note..i have NO sympathy..sorry... your animal SHOULD have tags and/or microchip...and you should NOT let an animal wander..the incidence of "lost animal" should be extremely rare anyone who does not have tags on their pets..first of all is ripping off the city they should be supporting ( and breaking a law) and 2 is not a responsible pet owner taking the best care they can to ensure there is NO situation for which your animal should go lost for any long period of time ( and yes before someone rips my head off..there are always exceptions to the rule..like i said incidence should be very low! )
Carlee. Some pets have microchips that mis-function
but a microchip is not the law...its in addition to the tag..the tag is the law..displaying rabies shots ( so a file with an address and owner name )
and a licence tag with the city
another address and owner linked to a number...that is 2 separate search tools on 1 collar
We don't have tags on the cats. They hurt the cats
we do
But they are inside cats
then they should be INSIDE..and not get out
( mine are too..inside... with tags )
Well I hope that happens
so if for any reason they did get out...and someone did find... i would have my furbabies back within hours...( unless the person steels the cat )
we have tags, and when proerly made and affixed,do not hurt the animal
properly
No but Pandora is stupid and rips at them until she pulls her flesh bare
there are collars you can order from the vet, that have the tag imbedded right into the collar herin
sorry herin... on that one...youwont convince me...i am all for the humane society...and not putting animals down when there is a loving home..but an owner MUST take responsibility for their pet..it is part of beng a pet owner...
she will never get it our or hurt herself
I do take responsibility so bite my ass
then u get a microchip and it is the responsibility of the owner to ensure is a functioning chip...get it checked out...
the have a chip
i am not fighting with you herin... it is rare i take a strong stand....and evn rarer to argue my point..on this one... i do...i will STFU now... have a good day all toodles ( not fighting..not angry....just dont want this to escalate )
We have chips with the code on a tag. She ate teh tag
we used to micro chip our shepards
But Carlee you don't vacinate your cats so pot kettle
ok my friends, nice strog cuppa tea all round eh?lol
lol@ pot kettle,i love it:) i love all the old terms
meanwhile, can someone help me with the last re7 -- please?
Official in a sports game.
I am saying I am responsible with the furkids. I just don't judge people that have had to put their brats in shelters. It saddens me. Like the old people that have no choice or the person that has to go to hospital. That kind of thing
AND I can't find a JE 4 damn it
Thank you, THANK you Molly!!!
ty molly
Chip or no chip, if an animal goes missing, and the owner does not take it upon themselves to contact all the local shelters, they run the risk of losing their pet. The shelters are good enough to take them in. They can't be responsible for putting one down if the owners don't actively look for their lost pet.
this is true molly
ehich JE do you need?
We have a huge anti Pit bull movement here :(
I found the JE
here,we have no-kill shelters and foster out animals till they get a lifetime place
... i've got three .... a ballet leap ... an angry shout ... and a babblette (je + the atomic symbol for iron)
... haven't listed ... is there a fourth? ... I'm missing a J
I wish that desexing was cheaper and we didn't have pet stores
Also, je4...Almost Derek of the NY Yankees.
... that's the ballet leap
good morning
Sorry, not into ballet.
too bad you are not here herin,we have an amazing male russian blue at the shelter this very moment, beautiful and sad to think he was dumped by the side of the road
Hi Dorens - Is that your latest?
je4/10 is the other je4 to rhyme with what you do with a book.
There is a je4 using the high point tile in the bottom row
Cross ours is a Russian white. Love the blues very good pets and the sort that tells you what to do
je4/12
Hi Haz and Bzz
And a je4 that sounds like what you plant in the ground.
Good morning/afternoon/evening all.
russian kitties are easy to raise.once you learn to follow their rules,it is a snap
... sorry ... I had that one too ... but I'm still missing a J ... oh well leave it for the monkeys
Good morning, herin.
Two je6 are anagrams of each other.
... had one ... now two ... thanks
je6/35 - is je + thin grass
jereed
oops sorry
DINDINDING!
crossy is bad
latest what herin? (and i love russian blues too)
.. no fair getting a penalty after I monkey the word
Oooooooo I actually learned how to put shelves together with an electric drill the other night
always fair getting a penalty dos... + there are usually goodies there, I wouldn't complain.
good job herin
Cross can you send the kitty to me (I wish)
i will try and mess up sooner next time does:))
wish i could herin,a beautiful 8 month old male
... yeah ... but you must spell words that I don't have ... ... spelling a word that I just got only gets you treats ... not me
he will find a homre fast i think
Hi Haz!
Hello, Molly.
ZCan someone answer me this. Can cat's see basic colours like red and black and green and such
and jmc is in the lead with a score of 55,000 or so
oops
Cats, like humans, have two primary structures in the retina of the eye for perceiving light: rods which help us see light and dark areas, and cones which have pigments to detect particular wavelengths of light. At low light intensities, rods function to distinguish light from dark. You may notice that you see little color in dim light. At high intensities of light the rods do not function, however, the cones do. Humans have three kinds of cone pigments, ones that can detect red, green and blue light. It's no coincidence that we find these same colors in the screen of an average color-TV set. The ability of an organism to see in "color" thus depends upon the color receptors present in the retina. People (or animals) lacking a specific color receptor are unable to "see" that color. Most often, it appears greyish, or as one of the other colors that can be detected (i.e. purples appearing greyish-blue). Green color-blindness is the most common genetic form of color-blindness in humans, followed by red, then blue."
there u go herin
hi haz, hi molly
So the answer is yes?
yes,but different than we do
So can they see red?
wellll.... that is the main sticking point
we are guessing and the kitty is not telling
Because Lucius has a red thing at the moment
Hello, Dorens.
have you recovered from the wedding?
Following the theory that cats can see intensity, more than actual color, it would make sense that red would attract them, since it is an intense color.
wondering about dull red
Yes, nearly 4 weeks ago now.
i'm sure it was splendid, yes?
Because my blanket is red and the duvet cover is red and he loves that
It was a really fun day, Dorens. I've got photos on flickr if you want to see (scroll through, I put them up in the wrong order)
but you sleep with it, herin, so it smells of you... my cat loves mine as well
i did peek at them haz, even tho I haven't seen you online.. i just had to check them out and it sure did look fun
herin, you want to find the most comfortable place in your house? just watch the kitty as he will go there regardless of colour lol
It was!
being old and creaky and several pounds heavier than I used to be, I have to disagree cross... my cat can fit into comfy spots that wouldn't work for me!!!
Hello all :)
hello sadie
lol dorens
Hello Dorens
The cat sleeps on himselfs side
There was a perfectly made bed when I left this morning and when I returned HUGE kitty circle
The wedding pictures are so lovely Haz.
lol@ kitty circles
and the bride and her mom look terrific
Thank you, Molly. We scrubbed up well.
The flowers were gorgeous, especially the roses in your daughter's bouquet.
As soon as I saw the flowers being delivered to the church the night before I relaxed because they had got them exactly right.
... goggled "Cats Seeing Colour" ... general concensus ... they can see some colour ... but not much ... generally weak vision ... ... but not at night ... night vision is about 6 times human capability
haz, just looked at the photos myself -- so lovely! and your daughter is your doppelganger!
Haz it is lovely you got everything right. And I agre with Eva.
looks like a perfect day... a perfect wedding
Thank you, EvaN - funnily enough I think the bride is more like her father. It's difficult to tell because he is more upholstered than he used to be.
Beautiful pictures Haz.... I love weddings and flowers and families and babies !! Now it seems like I know you just a bit better!
Ohhh... I think your bride/daughter VERY much resembles you!
Hello diane - it was just a happy day, everyone was on good form and it was lovely to be with friends and family.
the dress is lovely. understated and simple, but not at all boring. without knowing your daughter, i would say it suits her perfectly.
I am going have a great day/evening
I LOVED the dress. It's silk so it moved beautifully and just enough detail to make it interesting. She tried other dresses on but there was no contest
I was in desperation when she was trying on other dresses in case she changed her mind but she saw sense.
It's a beautiful dress. I love the detail in the bodice.
I know - I described it as controlled bling.
If I tell EvaN it's a Jenny Packham dress, will it mean anything?
I would think so Haz, she's a pretty well know designer.
Well, we were really lucky to get it as an end of line sample otherwise it would have been one of the other dresses.
... if he said things like "why can't she wear jeans? ... then no ... if it has a name ... any name it's more expensive
... if she's daddies little girl ... then yes ... full speed ahead and damn the wallet
I had never heard of the designer before we went in so we weren't swayed by the name at all. And she bought it herself....
Some of Packham's dresses are very 1920-ish. I think they are very elegant.
My younger, more fashion conscious daughter knew who we were talking about straight away. And yes, a definite Art Deco feel.
Hello all - wow talk about pink elephants - internet has been down for 5 days - serious babble withdrawal
Welcome back to your addiction.
*Fans Ursh to help cool down the withdrawal sweats*
5 days with no babble??!
makes ursh a nice blt sarnie and pours out a glass of crossy,s special long island iced tea
been tough - but back now - cool and well fed ty
my daughter just made my lunch - nice to be spoiled
a family is a blessing many times over
so, todays lunch is leftover of the "shephard's" pie i made last night with the homemade mashed potatoes i made the night before. quite tasty!
mmm shepards pie...
yum evaN.. always best with homemade mashed
my first shephards pie, and my first mashed potatoes...
my specialty is steak and mushroom pie
crossy, much as i love cooking, i've just spent four days alone with the grandkids and the cooking and cleaning up and everything else was a bit much for me!!
i have to say, i miss the mushrooms in this -- had to leave them out since hubby hates them.
couldn't make two smaller ones.. one with mushrooms?
get the grated carrot and peas in there?
slivers of onion?
i used a bag of mixed veggies, to onion, peas, carrots, green beans, and corn (never had a shephards with corn before, but i actually like the little touch of sweetness)
dorens, i think next time i will make baby ones. wanted to follow the recipe for my first try. :)
sounds like a plan
sounds good, and nothing like a personal touch to make it your onw;0
own*
you get a HUGE serving (a normal-sized baking dish is 6 servings) and it is only 7 points in Weight Watchers!
huge amounts of shepherd's pie are always welcome.. they make great leftovers
funnily enough, i HATED shephards pie growing up. we had it so often. ive never been a "meat-n-taters" gal.
oh, i forgot this also has celery. :)
i don't like meat particularly, but for some reason things containing ground meat always appeal to me. just don't cook with it often now, altho i did plenty when younger
gotta mention all the yummy veggies!
<---meat eater
you'd have liked the hamburger rachel made for me today then
Hamburgers are great if you only have them once in a long while..I rarely have those
i considered going vegetarian when i was in college, but burgers + sloppy joes were the reason why i couldnt do it...heh
ruru, i went back to costco and bought seven more 3 pound bags of farro at $7 and change. one for each kid and several more for myself. and i only rarely do have burgers... can't remember last time i did, in fact
I tried vegetanarianism when I was in high school, only to piss my father off however..I had an agenda
what is farro?
I have hamburgers maybe once or twice a year
I gave up meat a long while ago but mince was the thing I missed most it is so versatile
ahh the joys,of chicken pot pie, steak and mushroom pie, steak and kidney pies, fish pies, bacon and egg breakfast pies....mMMMM!
i think that is often the reason behind some teenagers' vegetarianism. My son and his daughter have recently converted, and it is going to complicate things to some extent
meant to say son and his wife.. daughter being only 5!!
farro is an Italian/Spanish grain..like barley..but better
i wouldn't say like barley, since I DON'T like barley and mmmmmm love my farro
a nutty kind of wheat... and dishes made with it are sort or risotto-ish
ahh. im very uneducated about grains. i know quinoa is the newest cool thing to eat.
it is very high in protein also, so i'm glad i gave a bag to my veg. son
:D *doren-farro addict*
do you like quinoa eva?
never had it
it's messy to cook
particularly if you spill it
my knowledge of grain ends with bread and whiskey;)
it's like trying to cook the beach
spent the summer eating quinoa, couscous, farro. getting to be quite the grain brain here
the grains in spain fall mainly on the plains
or in the burners
of your stove
LOL that too
I made coucous the other night
also brown rice.... cajun jasmine rice from this sort of oganic farmer down in LA.... it is yum yum yummers
what did you put in your couscous?
i had lots of veg. odds and ends in the fridge (many trips to farmer's market) and made some veg. broth (mainly leeks i think, but about 8 or 9 other things) and cooked couscous in it instead of water.... scrumptious
Here I am eating peanut butter and apples and reading about all this yummy food...
of course that was at home ... here on the island i am not doing such a lot of cooking, particularly now that my daughter and son have arrived. they are doing the cooking from now on
hey gail, nothing wrong with pb and apples!
oven roasted vegatables, lemon chicken strips, and balsamic glaze
I love them together.
morning all :)
sounds like elvis gail
mmmmm. sounds great
hi there mrp, how are you doing?
hey mrp. how are you today?
((((((mrp))))))
hey mr. p.. I have an aussie joke for you sent from an aussie friend of mine
No, Elvis ate bananas with his pb
I sent you a little bit of Reiki yesterday, mrp. will send more today
(((hugs))) to all! doing ok thanks! can't sleep to save a seal... is 3am and thought I would pop in and do some babble to help me relax
i hated pb as a child.. only ate my jelly sandwiches with cream cheese, but have converted
as long as this is a relaxing grid!!
i think it is mrp and i'm down to three now
thank you peri... I most certainly got it... have relaxed so much
it is an ok grid. 51 left but I took a break to do some errands
I have not listed yet and am down to 19
ok ruuster! let's hear it please!
I used to love cream cheese and jelly sandwiches. Now I don't like it at all.
The Gay Cowboy... A successful rancher died and left everything to his devoted wife. She was a very good-looking woman and determined to keep the ranch, but knew very little about ranching, so she decided to place an ad in the newspaper for a ranch hand.. Two cowboys applied for the job. One was gay and the other a drunk. She thought long and hard about it, and when no one else applied she decided to hire the gay guy, figuring it would be safer to have him around the house than the drunk. He proved to be a hard worker who put in long hours every day and knew a lot about ranching. For weeks, the two of them worked, and the ranch was doing very well. Then one day, the rancher's widow said to the hired hand, "You have done a really good job, and the ranch looks great. You should go into town and kick up your heels." The hired hand readily agreed and went into town one Saturday night. One o'clock came, however, and he didn't return. Two o'clock and no hired hand. Finally he returned a round two-thirty, and upon entering the room, he found the rancher's widow sitting by the fireplace with a glass of wine, waiting for him. She quietly called him over to her.. "Unbutton my blouse and take it off," she said. Trembling, he did as she directed. "Now take off my boots." He did as she asked, ever so slowly. "Now take off my socks." He removed each gently and placed them neatly by her boots. "Now take off my skirt." He slowly unbuttoned it, constantly watching her eyes in the fire light. "Now take off my bra.." Again, with trembling hands, he did as he was told and dropped it to the floor. Then she looked at him and said, "If you ever wear my clothes into town again, you're fired."
made me chuckle ruru!
some of my gay friends thought it was hysterical.. it's typical aussie humor though
NB would have enjoyed it
well I am stuck with 50 left
I have one 7 re7/40 help with other 7's pls

ty ruru, have all 7's now
well no, not much. i still can't nod vigourously, but i can shake my head side to side and otherwise move and nothing happens.
such a hot day, and now a cold cold morning .... brrrrr
so in other words, you can say no but not yes? :-)
correct.
and hi, mrp!
anyone have the second je6?
well, that's what my speech therapist said I needed to do in order for my voice to heal...
hi sue!
eating part of my lunch before 12:30 faculty meeting...
phantom: eject
keep typing that little bugger
what's for lunch?
right now, carrots, jicama, and zucchini with what is supposed to be calorie-free dressing
then yogurt and a peach
then lentil stew
ugh..
my god,i think the geneva convention makes meals like that illegal
saving the lentil stew for last as it is the most filling
lentils sound good
I just had an arancini... has made me happily sleepy :)
carrots are from the farmers market and the zucchini is from a neighbor's garden
fresh is best!
I also have some jalapeno dill pickle in it, from the farmers market as well - gives it a bit of a bite
peach is from the farmers market too, and I made the lentil stew myself from scratch
you are clever sue!
I think I'll make lentils tonight.. thanks sue
have been trying to be more organized about my food, and healthier
I best try and sleep... talk of food is making me feel good!
which is sort of working :-)
well, that's a good thing, mrp! sleep well!!!
nite my darling friends, sun is coming up soon so best do what I can! **hugs**

:)))

doesn't corn have gluten stid?
and it's time for me to get going. I am completely spaced today -- my absolute dream job just opened at my absolute dream school... and not all my references have responded so I don't have a chance. *sigh* Spent an hour emailing folks to ask them to fill in.
it's not gluten, ruru - it's one of the other proteins that bothers me.
and a pound of real butter for the carnivores and a soy spread for the rest
oh..
untill you hear the dream job has been filled, send them a resume once a week
corn "gluten" is not the same as wheat gluten anyway.
I have stoopid allergies.
I am gluten ignorant
Greetings Babblers!
SCRABBY!
I have a friend who just went on a gluten free diet and feels terrific
cross, that is what I am thinking. I have to drive past the school every time I go into town anyway... but to do that, I have to be appropriately attired.
SCRABS!!!! (((((((hugs)))))))
I have considered that too, Ruru.
I only know about gluten because of all the research I do to figure out what it is that is making me ill.
Stid, I want you to get your DREAM JOB!
well you do not have to walk up to the president every time, but just make sure one gets on his desk every week
Scrabs -- my migraines last month seem to have been triggered by cetirizine. I stopped taking it when I realized there was a connection, and the migraines are all but gone -- back to the level they were before June.
when i am hiring and i see repeats, they get my attention
howdy everyone!
Actually, the superintendent/principal and I are pretty close, we have known each other for a long time.
Interesting, because an antihistamine called cyproheptadine is used as daily migrain prophylaxis in kids.
hey Jen!
Hi Jen
thanks cross -- so "eager beaver" is okay!
then mail one to his house each week!:))
Does anyone know what is going on with mrp's health?
well I am okay with loratadine, and clopheniramine and diphenhydramine, so it was logical to try this one to see if it helped me breathe better. It did, but...
it is,when i see someone has not forgotten over a month or so and keeps up to date on the vacancy of the position that bodes well
she has posts on fb scrabs, but hasn't written anything in her profile here
TY
anyway, like I said -- I need to wear "town appropriate" garments, not "housecleaning." also need to wake up the sleeping beauty. And get some additional paperwork thingies done.
Crossy, what should I do about "sticky" keyboard keys?
pull the key covers and wipe underneath
or spend 8 dollars and get another new kb
lol
I huffed and puffed and blew at the E and R keys and now not sticky.
i am using a microsoft ergonomic(sp) board right now,has all the bells and whistle and cost 8 bux + tax lol
Oops, R is still sticky.
***Hugs and guilt-free choclits for all*** see you soon! p.s. Scrabs, I really meant that about the "base camp" thing, if you come here though I won't hike long distances I will happily sit and watch the pretty shadows while others explore!
This is a laptop from the office.
and my computer parts store has a recycle program for all stuff computers so i am not worried about filling landfills
I don't like to fly but I might do the trip someday.
I spent an extra $20 or so when I got my macbook for the keyboard cover. It was strange at first (the silicon is a little "sticky") but I am so glad I have it. Keys stay nice and clean and when the cover is dirty I wash it off and dry it overnight.
barring thata damp q-tip coated with windex electronic spray works wonders
I am the same way scrabs, not flight-averse, just TSA-averse. My last flights were to see Granny when she was sick.
To clean underneath?
but the can of electronc spray costs more than a new kb lol
oh well... really really gone now *poof*
(pop the keys off, scrabs, they go back easily)
I am flight-averse, well, crash averse.
that was my first suggestion stidmama
did anyone find that second je
i am never worried about the crash, cause if it happens the bloody pilot is right along with me for the ride! :)
actually he generaly gets to see the landing spot first lol
stupid bulgarian internet! keep losing it and words I am trying to enter!
and just what are you doing in bulgaria? lol
decided to do some euro hopping?
working (well, not at the moment... it's 8:30 at night here)
Bulgaria is supossed to be beautiful. I have read a book by Peter Deunov--a prophet of sorts.
i know very little about it
***sneeks in for a minute while doing homework*** can I have stats for the bottom c and the second column bottom e?
I have not looked at stats.
found the c, need the e
we've only just gotten here but already really like it (except for the internet connection). our house looks out at the big mountain in town, Mount Vitosha
How long will you be there?
three years
Is your son in an American school?
fo 6/27= a bad odour
he's at the Anglo-American school... it's gotten quite international though... Dutch, German, French, and some of the more prominent Bulgarian families. as for curriculum, we'll see
Which second column e?
Top is ea5/12, lower is er5/12
te 6/21? Please
nm
Hi Molly and pigeonman
Clue for er5/12?
and now i must head to work with 43 left for later, but i shall leave you with crossy,s tidbit of the day!!!
Andrew Jackson was the only US President to have the national debt paid in full.
Bye Crossy! Enjoy the day!
Our elected politicians manage the US household quite poorly--spending is > income. Aaaaaaahhh!
::le sigh:: my first weight gain since i started my weight-loss journey...
you will get back with it eva.
er5,12: to wear away [soil, rocks]
can you jump rope?
i just need to step up my game. i think i have been a little lax the last 2 weeks...
I would be jumping rope if my ankles could take the pounding................. not gonna happen.
i go running twice a week. well, only once this week -- i needed a mental health night last night.
Cycling is good exercise.
Especilaly up hills.
that too neil.
Especially, even.
hubby + i were gonna go riding or swimming tonight, but it looks like the hurricane rain is already hitting us... might hafta pull out the Wii-Fit tonight.
my grandson hooked up our wii to our tv and we get netflex right on the screen
it's neat
gotta get back on the salad-n-veggie bandwagon. fill up with the good stuff + use the bad stuff as treats or accents only.
you go girl!!
the weather is changing, and it has been making me crave comfort foods more. gotta nip that in the bud!
Hello...

Sorry, Holly, I don't have them all...
Hi Jellen.
Do you have the person who raises the kids?
Hi, neil!

Sounds better than "negative" haha!
And got that one too Jellen, what's missing, it's my last word

Or is it the ro6,21 maybe?
Ripped up again?
That's re6,18 Molly.
retore
She asked for re6,21... so I don't know?
Sure Holly, that's a good clue! ;)
If I re4 your list right, holly, you are missing the one neil clued
Whoops!! sorry
ra 5/10 the first one plz
I am so tired and cross eyed, missing a 5 not a 6, will try to figure out which one, thanks all, too much babbling
An Indian queen or princess... wife of a rajah?
[first ra5,10]
Holly your list said back end auto accident (which I assume is a past tense) Jellen then clued the one who raises the children. Could that be it? I think all the re6s have been clued.
Oops, never mind.
ty neil
yw ivesy3
OK, sorry all it's really a re5/10. got the old fad, which is what I feel like now
How about re + mans name
got that one Molly, thanks
Aww, Holly.
re 5/10 means from years back. Ends in a vowel
Yes. An old fashion, usually regaining popularity.
re 5/10 move quickly on your feet.
Moved quickly
Finally firewroks, thank you all for your patience with me
Mazel tov!
Late yay for Holly!
Late hi to Molly, too...
I'm trying to synch my iPhone and am having difficulties...
I don't know, Jellen. I use a Motorolla Droid now. And have a Blackberry I was using until I got everything transferred onto and working on this phone. My brother's the iPhone expert... he has the 4 and loves it. He'll have the 5 soon no doubt.
I have an iPhone. Not sure I can help. What is the problem?
Hi Bea.
Hey, neil.
I followed your blog.
Guess I need to start posting again. =)
Always looking for new recipes to try when I'm at home.
My friend Laura has a good recipe blog on there too.
Since we are eating low carb, the only thing I "cook" now days is meat and salad. BORING!
If you follow me back [my blog] you will see her blogs in my followed blogs list. Poundcake's Kitchen I think it's called?
Laura is the Babbler "Fauxmage" btw.
Thanks for the info, neil.
Oh I added you on Flickr too.
You'll also find Laura there in my contacts... twice.
So did you see pics of my big, old ugly house on flickr?
Oh, sorry Bea...I'm now on hold with Apple Support...
Yes, saw your house but don't find it ugly?
Sorry for the delay... been tweeting with someone.
They will be able to help you better than I, Jellen.
It would beat living in the small apartment I do.
Good thinking, Jellen... they're your best bet.
Some days small sounds good.
Haha, less cleaning?
Yes. And less to scrape, sand, paint...
Yes. And you have Flickrmail, btw.
Great! I'll check it now. Heading back upstairs to the sewing machine...*poof*
CerightLUE PLEase for RE 6, right after went fA\nST agAIN.
Re6 after to move fast again? That would be to look at a book again.
tag, inge and hello Molly and all.
THANKS mOLLY
Jellen! Wonderful icon pic!
oh, my connection is buggy. back another time. *sigh* *poof*
Hi to my fellow babblers! How is everyone doing today
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
cls for j6 and te6/21?
je 6/36 is past tense of the je 4/9 word.Other je6 is anagram of the first je 6/26 word babbers & hi there
That te 6/21 word is te plus the re4/5 word babbers.
te6,21 -- te + repeat an action.
Or what Minveryork just said.
ty! only 2 more
Go babbers go!
yw! Go, go, go.
darn r's
Which ones?
re5/12 and 7/32 but still trying to figure them out for a few more minutes
I have both of those so ask whenever you want a clue
thx min
I have them too. I did the grid last night.
are they real words?
Congratulations negative on finishing early! Hooray!
re 5/12 is a real word, but not that common babbers.
ok monkeyed that one
re7/32 is also a real word, but again not that common
I'm Neil, Minveryork.
Congrats, babbers... 1 more to go!
Oops, sorry! I forgot to include the rest of your name
Haha, my actual first name sounds much better than calling me what you did.
This is an online monikker I've used for a few years.
Mainly because of my blogging.
So are you related to nervousnelly by any chance neil
I used to write and post blogs complaning about my workplace and co-workers you see.
Not to my knowledge? :P
done!!!
But Positive Pete is my antithesis.
Mazel tov, babbers!
Congratulations babbers on finishing the grid!Hooray
gracias!
LOL! Neil!
thanks for the help!
You're welcome.
yw
laters all!
Take care.
I could complain about work and my co-workers too, but then I wouldn't have a job anymore. What kind of work do you do? I'm an English as a Second Language teacher.
Goodbye babbers! I will see you tomorrow in the chog
See my bio. It's in there.
Today is your six month anniversary of going pro Neil
Considering I only went pro last week, no.
Today is my six month anniversary of joining.
Oh, well then congratulations on going pro!Way to go
Then I was busy, travelling a lot for work and didn't Babble that much... so when things finally slowed down a little (ha) I upgraded.
Waited a whole year before I upgraded to pro status.
I joined at the end of February, then the big earthquake hit Japan and I had to go over to East Asia for that and other assignments. So I was gone the entire spring and didn't have much time for this... first Korea, then Vietnam, then Thailand, Laos and finally Thailand again. Then home, sweet home at long last.
You can see some photos of me in Thailand in my bio (Flickr feed), riding an elephant.
Thought I didn't deserve to have "pro" status when I wasn't a pro. Then realized I would never be a pro at this and I'd never be able to upgrade, so I upgraded.
Well gee, who is a "pro" at this? Nobody's getting paid to Babble that I'm aware of? Haha, don't we wish?!
You upgrade to support the site... it costs money to provide this so it's only right to upgrade.
How interesting. Being a journalist must be a pretty interesting career to have. No traveling in my line of work except for field trips with some bratty children.
Well that too of course! I believe it is soooo worth it!
It is, yes... but also demanding and hard work at times.
I wouldn't trade it for anything else though.
I've always enjoyed writing... and photography.
It's better now I'm freelance. I worked for a newspaper in an office for a while and it drove me nuts.
My Uncle is a photographer too, but he doesn't travel
He's also not a journalist. Not sure what kind of work he does. In fact, I do not think he works that much.
Well mostly I'm shooting photos to include with articles I'm writing. Except for this month... I've been on a strictly photography assignment.
Must be nice not to have to work that much!
Yes, it must be! If only we could all have that luxury!
No kidding. I'm my only means of support, so I have no option.
I have no option since my husband is out of work now
I kind of like keeping my apartment, car, etc. So I owe, I owe... it's off to work I go!
Oh I see. That's a drag... hope he finds something soon.
We live to work and we work to live I guess. At least I do.I also do live for other things as well of course Neil
Don't we all?
Yes, me too!It has been almost 2 years and it's a real drag! Not helping marriage at all, but that's another story that I do not really want to get into right now.
No, I'm sure it's very stressful.
*splash*
Hi jmcnrick! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid.
Hi jmc!
There'll be a lot of splashing going on w/the upcoming hurricane. Husband and I have to clear off the patio.
I live in fear of returning to my house after an earthquake and hurricane!
First an earthquake & now a hurricane. I think that Mother Nature is trying to tell us something jmcnrick
I did not feel the earthquake though. I was at a park.
but i have been behaving!
i started recycling in 1969
LOL jmcnrick! I did not start recycling until recently.
;-p it's your fault then! haha
That must be it!
it was so funny when i was talking to the guys about installing solar panels on my house
hello back to finish the last 5
they kept talking about rebates and things and i finally said--i am doing this because i am committed to it you can quit trying to sell it to me
My parents have solar panels on their house too. I've never heard of that until they did it. They are big on protecting the environment, HUGE environmentalists
they looked surprised like they had never met someone who wanted solar power because it was a good thing
Hi westford! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
and you just started recycling!?!?!?
hi min keeping up with Mother
hi west
jmc sorry I ran out the other day..daughter just showed up..nice surprise
Well,I would not say JUST started. I started maybe in 1994 or so. It was sure way later than 1969 though.
no problem--how nice for you!
well you are a spring chicken min
yes it was don't see her often enough
any damage that you know of?
Hello...
Hi again Jellen.
I am going to take a break now.I will be back later on
hi jellen
not that i know of --did you see the pics of the cathedral though?
Hello Jellen! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid!
hi jell
*POOF*
bye for now min..hope Irene doesn't get to you

It took a while and a call to tech support, but my phone is backed up and updated!
Hi/bye Min

and yes beautiful happy picture
Thanks!
that's what I have too..got my husband's hand-me-down
mine doesn't seem to keep much of a charge..but I use it ad infinitum
That is a problem with our model...battery life isn't great...
I never sync it either
still like it though
I hadn't synched for a while...but I keep my life on my phone, so I decided to do it...plus I had some new music I wanted on my phone...
i never figured out how to sync my blackberry

sports official and pt
re 7/40
oops I'm sorry you only asked for stats
ty jell and np west i would have never gotten it without a clue
over 5 letters and i am hopeless
I was so proud that I got it by my lonesome
Okay, that's it. Westford must walk the plank. : P
you should be proud
splash !!
so molly you drowned yet?
*throws west a life line*
hi molly
Why is Molly drowning?
[Stays on dry land... away from the shore.]
thanks jmc I think I see a tsunami coming..why not we have everything else
hi neil..good advice..lashing myself to a tree now
Saturday/Sunday is rock and roll time for us.
hurricane coming to dc
nbt btw
good job !!
4.5 aftershock early this morning too. And the hits just keep on happenin'
Ah...didn't realize Molly was a DC person...
and the Washington Monument has a 4 ft crack..dire
wd, jmc!
I'm in the suburbs of DC Jellen
Oh you're the second Babbler I've seen or met who's in RI, westford.
nice to meet you neil..who is the other..Lady Biotch?
or St. Franny?
Haha! I wouldn't call her that. Maybe you know her? Diana aka "saintfranny"?
snap neil
Oh yes, haha!
she's in Cranston but doesn't babble much anymore
Why, does she call herself "Lady Biotch" sometimes?
I predict that by Saturday afternoon, there won't be any batteries, bottled water or flashlights left in the stores.
being such a small state we all know each other lol
No. I occasionally see her on MSN Chat. Rarely though.
No, that's another Babbler's name
Oh yeah, sure you do.
you can say that again Molly..also no coffee or tp
Geez. People panic, don't they?
No propane, no charcoal, no ice.
we felt the earthquake here Molly..I happened to be (ahem) using the bathroom and the toilet started to rock lol
West!! That is the best earthquake story I've heard so far.
only me
Some teenage girl tweeted at me on Twitter about how 'scary' it was to be sitting on her couch and have the couch shaking a little during the brief earthquake. I said "I've lived in california my whole life. get real".
Haha, westford!
Nothing new to me though.
there have been a few bad ones there though
No offense Neil, but I'm getting really tired of the West Coast people making fun of the East Coast folks. Earthquakes are unheard of here. It's no wonder people were scared.
I must say I would be disconcerted if there were an earthquake here...
Also, it happened way too close to the 9/11 anniversary and people were thinking the worst. People in The Pentagon were scared to death.
I can only imagine Molly New Yorkers too
what's next?
you might scared in a hurricane which is nothing to me neil
Yeah, or in a thirty inch blizzard.
missed that one in 78 we were living in CA then
i didn't know about the aftershock--wonder if that is what woke me
best story we heard was people forming a human chain from a hotel to a liquor store..
I don't think I was making fun of her, Molly. No offense I'm sure, but it's just a fact that a little bit of shaking for 2-3 minutes isn't going to do much.Unless you're fairly close to the epicenter and stuff is falling and breaking in your house, it's not that big a deal. This girl lived a good distance from it and was making too much of it.
I missed everying in '78, westford.
we all have our cross-eyed bears
It doesn't matter where you are. You don't know how far you are from the epicenter when it's happening. And to me, "get real" is making fun of someone.
lol west!
I was born six years too late for that.
Enough said. I'm not trying to start an argument. I'm just tired of all the sarcasm from The Left Coast.
Ok, and do you know this girl and what she said to me and how? No. So judge away if you must.
it was a first for me and where i was it was not much
How far away are you, jmc?
we lived in CA for years and never experienced one and I was back there visiting our daughter in SD and there was a minor one in Big Bear and I was scared
Actually I was in Charlotte NC yesterday. Flew to Dallas TX this morning.
Really, westford? Not even one?
How many years was that?
no neil not a one
i am in harrisonburg va which is half-way done 81
let's see 70's and 80's
Monterey, Coronado, Camarillo with east coast tours between
*down
That's surprising, westford... we've had a good number during my lifetime, but mostly just little minor tremors of course. Some of them nothing you'd probably notice if you weren't still.
(typing one handed)
you're zipping right along jmc
Wow, I'm surprised you never experienced one in all that time!
had 4 kids..didn't have time lol
Hey, neil, you're only a little over 5 hours away from me!
Oh yeah, Jellen?
hard to tell if there is earthquake with 4 kids
We're here through Saturday... Houston on Sunday.
lol, jmc
I was just gonna say something to that effect, jmc!
my hometown--houston
poor Texas is it still so hot there?
Hell, there were only 2 of us at home and when we were little, we used to shake the house up enough!
Oh yeah. Hotel A/C is a very good thing.
2 kids that is... and 2 parents of course.
How many years apart are you and your brother, neil?
2 years and 11 months to the day.
Me being the younger brother.
Of course...
I broke some poor woman's luggage this morning when we boarded the plane. Helped her get her carry-on into the overhead compartment and snapped the handle right off her suitcase. Oops!
way to go neil !!
I know, I know. #incompetentsamaritan
you big strong guy ??
I wouldn't say that. Just clumsy sometimes.
must have been ready to snap
it was the thought that counted
This will give you some idea of me. Ummm, just don't think I dress this way all the time or anything, please. This was at the Burning Man festival in NV a few years ago... enough said? http://tinyurl.com/NJL-BM
very cool..you look like an Inca warrior..what is Burning Man?
Haha! That's funny. It's a festival held in the desert there each summer... it's about connection with your fellow man (or woman). Just about meeting other people and having fun, basically. At the end of the festival a huge effigy of a man goes up in flames.
glad you said effigy
And everyone dresses up in pretty strange and silly attire, for the fun of it.
(Think modern day Woodstock West)
Like: http://tinyurl.com/AML-NJL-BM
Nevada in summer..now that's hot
I guess it's yeah, pretty similar to that.
You bet it is, westford.
Cools down a lot at night though.
By the way West, some friends of mine are going to see John Prine at Wolftrap tomorrow night.
oh I wish I was one of them Molly
neil is the guy with you famous? he sure looks familiar
It's a beautiful place to take in a summer time concert.
I think TO wanted to go to that with me but I am soooo still on the ro**. Thought quitting my job would result in being home.
He shouldn't.
love his jockey shorts
A more normal [read: dorky] looking me with my mom and a couple ladies we were talking to: http://tinyurl.com/LL-NJL-CBSB2
Can't tell I'm her son much, can you?
Oh yes you can...except she looks so young!
nbs and i am off to a meeting and then if i am lucky back
Farewell, jmc!
hurry back jmc
I'm half my parents ages at present. They were my age when they had me.
your mom is beautiful neil
Thanks, westford!
where was that picture taken? everyone is bundled up
NYC in November.
that would be cold
do your parents still live in CA?
Yes, they do.
Dad's still in San Diego with his girlfriend and Mom lives in LA now, working for my brother.
no one in Santa Cruz then?
that's a beautiful area
Yes, me. When I'm there.
I'm away more than I'm home these days.
doesn't sound like you're there much though
It sure is. That's why I decided to stay after graduating from college [UCSC].
No, not lately I'm not.
our 2nd daughter and her husband are in Encinitas we were there this past Christmas
Oh yes?
it was lovely to sit outside came back to much snow here
Ugh. You must've hated returning to that after being in nice, warm weather?
we did..winter is not my favorite season
can't beat our autumn though
and our Red Sox lol
Haha!
hi folks, just to bring you back to the ugly reality here - people are going crazy as if the world were about to end - just came back from the supermarket, only because I needed milk and fruit, what an experience!
you gotta love 'em
Oh no, JBV.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
hi west, are they freaking up around where you are too?
[Headshake]
yes JBV on the news just now they are demonstrating how to board up windows.
we might get some wind and rain but not Armageddon
It was a frenzy, people clearing the shelves faster than the store could restock - people buying gallons and gallons of water, ok, but how many bags of potato chips do you need in a disaster????
* I meant freaking out (not up) you see, it's gotten to me too :)
Haha!
might get mega munchies
I guess some people live on those?
Well, I'm pretty near the coast and I do worry about the wind, but I don't really stress out, not even if we lose power for a while. On the other hand, I really have never experienced a terrible disaster so I guess that's why I can laugh
I just saw on the news that FL and GA will be mostly missed..bet they're happy about that
Whereabouts, JBV?
anyone need a clue? I finished this grid this morning
i'm in central NJ, neil
I finished it last night.
Was on here at flip.
Oh I see, JBV.
flip is too late for me, I always start in the morning
Oh I worked until very late, so just unwound with the new grid.
It's like that here too JBV. I got anything I needed yesterday because I figured the closer to the weekend it got, the crazier it would be.
evening all - i said i'd come back for a clue when desperate - and now i'm desperate lol
Hi MollyL - I forced myself to go today, 'cause I knew tomorrow would just be hellish
I still need a left column r..have 13 from that r..any help would be much appreciated
hi Glantarell
hi glan
i have one word left - the second ar5 - help!
I've endured two 30 hour power outages. So I pretty much keep the essentials on hand all the time, to avoid having to rush to the store with the masses.
do you have red 7/32 - it's a compound word -color/part of plant
Hi West, JBV and everybody
ar 5 = mountain ridge
I do have that JBV
ar5,10 -- ar + summer, en francais.
oops, that was supposed to be re 7/32 - OK, put me in the PB
thankyou thankyou thankyou
You'll be safe there JBV. It's all boarded up for the hurricane. : P
do you have re 6/24 - what the tide does when it ebbs
[puts JBV into the PB and locks the door]
LOL, Molly
fireworks (obviously)
have that one too
I'll take the potato chips in with me
want soem welsh cakes JBV?
yay, Glant!
gives 75 bags of potato chips to JBV
we think alike lol
Yay glan !!
re 6/24 - what the tide does when it ebbs or what a man's hair does as he ages? Haha!
Or more specifically, his hairline.
have that neil thanks I'm sure it's a fish
most of the r's are pretty straightforward, west, check to see if you've added all the suffixes
A fish?
re4 - like a gassy plant in a marsh but with last 2 letters transposed?
re colour plus organ on side of head?
how about re5/12 = fortress
I have all of those..trying not to list
re6 - to tear again
a fish - one that's so obvious when you get it, you want to hit yourself in the side of the head with a flounder or something like it
Don't blame you, westford. I never listed with this one.
Just worked from the tile stats.
Oh ok, JBV... thanks for the definition.
It's either a 4 or a 5
I just use my hand. Slap!
I don't know where "fish" came from - anyone??
re5 - fashionable and nostalgic
re5 - to run again n the past tense
but that's not from the right=hand column, Glant
have that one too
I was going to make flounder with shrimp sauce, but hubby opted for hamburgers instead.Hello again to all
Oh fashionable? That's me. [yes, that's sarcasm, haha]
re4 - made of coal?
I vote for flounder min
i thought west wante dleft hand column - doh!
Hi again, Minveryork.
re + mans name...*** Marino...quarterback
hi Min!
hmm made of coal? maybe that's it
re4 - re + the definitie article minus h
diamonds?
Hello JBV and Neil.I would vote for flounder too, but I am not going to make it for just one person.Anybody want to come over?
no, I goofed, she does want left column - I meant the one you clued was from the right! (I should just give up, that supermarket trip got the best of me)
there are 17 from that tile, right?
re5 - to look up in a document (more than once?)
beginning to wonder if I have a different grid
Okay, so what word is everybody trying to clue here?
I'm probably a little far away for that, Minveryork.
Several words I think, Min?
min I need a 4 or 5 letter re from the left column
re & Mr Quayle perhaps. Morning all
west - fom the top re4 - to peruse a book or written document
hi lynxxx
hi lyn and I have that one
The re4/5 word is what you do with a book westford.
re4 to raise somebody or the backside of something
And an re4/4 word is another word for your buttocks
and don't forget to add the suffixes
re4 l;ike a marshy grass but transpose last 2 letters
re4 to do again
The re 5/12 word is re plus news reporter *** Rather.
re4 the marshy grass
re4 the underwater coral
I swear I have them all..gaaah
re5 -add the name of karate grades
re5 to rn again
Glant, that re4 clue is PB territory.
which one Molly? I could do with joioning JVB for a welsh cake!
re 4/5 word is to do something over again. re 4/4 is anagram of de 4/5 word westford. Another re 4/5 is de 4/5 reversed. An re5/10 word is did a race again.\
oh de** don't know karate grades..except 'belts'
And Min can join you.
1st D*n, 2nd d*n etc
Welsh cake? I don't know what it is, but I'm sure it's too rich my weight loss program - but after 75 bags of potato chips, who cares?
lol JBV
it's a small griddled cake which has dried fruit in it - dry like a scone rathe than like a pancake - actually relatively lo calorie
tell about the cake glan
Oh darn it! What did word did I spill into the chat log?
sounds good, Glant, do you serve it with jam or just eat it plain?
do any re words include a j?
ra4.4 not common has 2 extensions for 5.12 & 5.10
same as me i think - 2 letter word beginning with d
eat it dusted with sugar
no J
soem people put butter on them but i think tha's sacriledge
The way I've been told, you can't clue by using all the letters in the word. Therefore, "re + to ** again" would be suspect, since it spells the word.
mmm sounds delish
tis delish
it was the ra word !! thanks lyn
Oh, I see! I'll have to remember that rule from now on
hooray west!
i woll remember the rule too
never thought it might be an ra
Me neither!
i thought you knew it was an re LOL
Well, all the lurking people looking for re words are happy now. : )
time for the news in Italian - see you guys later or tomorrow, have fun!
Me neither, hence all of the re clues I just gave out.
Goodbye JBV!I will see you later in the chat log maybe
ciao JBV
well, as west has the r word, and i have my fireworks, and it's close to midnioht, i'm off to bed
happy babbling all - see you tomorrow
good night glan and thanks
Phantom words for me today are radon and retorter.
reject for me
Congratulations Glantarell on fireworks! Good for you
night night
Goodbye Glantarell! I will see you tomorrow in the log.
min would love for you to post the flounder recipe
we had salmon last night..can't get enough seafood
Sure, let me go get it. It is in my recipe book westford
I made some awesome tomato soup last night.
are you growing tomatoes this summer?
Yes, but my crop was pitiful. Too much heat, not enough rain. We are boycotting canned soup because it's too salty and the vegetables are mushy. Not to mention, it's not properly seasoned.
Was going to type the whole recipe into the chog. I'll just give you the link to it.Think that might be easier
I know what you mean about too salty
that would be great min..thanks very much
http://allrecipes.com/recipe/flounder- with-shrimp-sauce/detail.aspx
would love the soup recipe too molly
hi all
Hi carleekat.
hello babbleland! ^-^
hi nn
Hi carleekat! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
Been checking for you on G+. No sign yet?
Hi Jillyjill.
no...i havent logged in
Hello jillyjill! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid.
hi carlee
i wil.. :)
hi west
hi jilly
min that looks so good and easy too
hi minver
hi jilly too
{{molls}}
I've never made it before,so I do not know about the ease of making it or the taste, but it does look good.
I do not really cook so anything I make has to be easy
I have haddock now but next time I get flounder I'm going to try it
Just for the halibut?
phantom word already...career
lol neil
We really don't eat a lot of fish. Since I'm an amateur cook, husband does not trust me with fish. He is the master chef in the house. He got it from his mother.
This grid is FILLED with phantom words today Jillyjill.
nice living with a master chef..who does the clean up?
How funny you should say that right then, Min.
A couple of seconds before you did, I just said this to Laura [Fauxmage] on MSN Chat: I'm looking at this Babble grid, even though I finished it at flip last night and I'm seeing a phantom word: reorder
Hey Carlee
Other phantoms:ejecet,otter,radon,reject,ret orter
Oh oh. I guess that sends me to the PB.
For part of that. Oh nm.
We have a rule if one cooks, the other one cleans up.
does he make a big mess? most men who cook do
all part of the creative process
Oh help me, I have done my time with men who make a big mess (and a huge production) when they cook.
He complains because I use every measuring cup and tablespoon in the kitchen. He just eyeballs everything
IF there shoudl EVEr be another significant other of ANY kind..the rule will be...no matter WHO cooks..WE clean up
When he cooks, he usually grills so very easy celan up
I'm a measuring fool
You can eyeball with some things, but not when you're baking. Baking is like chemistry and the measurements have to be exact.
Excellent rule Carlee.
Rachel Ray makes me crazy
Oh, I do not bake.I do not even like cooking!I just do it because it is not fair to make him do it all the time.
( and studies have shown that those who do chores together - like cleanign up in kitchen- have better whoopie ;) )
I did not start cooking until I was almost 40 years old
I cook, I clean, I put away and start all over again next day...after 46 years I've had it
Which is why I am an amateur cook and can't eyeball measurements.Hubby did all of the cooking for years.
but I hate take out and eating out is getting so expensive
i started at 10... and its my therapy..yeesh the last 2 days...2 batches dilly beans..2 batches of grape jelly 2 loaves of banana bread flap jacks ( the UK version) home made spag sauce, huge batch mac salad, bean salad, beet salad ( sorry molls )
We do get takeout occasionally, but it gets expensive
I love to cook. I don't consider it a chore at all. Truth be told, I don't really like someone else cooking in my kitchen. And I don't care for people mucking up my laundry room either.
I like to hire you carlee
I'd *
Me too westford!
we should have a world wide Babble Pot Luck
We should also have a Babble recipe book. We've chatted about that before. I think it would be awesome.
that's right molly..I think kiwi had started putting one together
I have a folder with babblers recipes
tell me please how you made the tomato soup
the new babble will have a recipe thingy ( no idea but that is what Dr God said)
oh yeah I remember hearing something about the 'new' babble
I keep threatening to write a family cookbook so my kids will have something to remember me by
The new Babble has been in the works for quite some time now. I kind of gave up on it ever transpiring.
I'd go for a babble cookbook...crossy will submit tons I hope!!
Dr. God has been busy with all this weather we've been having
someone sent me a link...i want to do a cookbook for a xmas gift..wont be this year
oh jilly he makes my mouth water
I've given up on New Babble too Min. It seems like all talk and no action.
i volunteered to DR to put together a cookbook with proceeds going to dr. god since he does a good job with this site..he said no..cus of the new babble
when he describes what he's cooking that is
Dr God*
It might have been me Carlee, who sent you the link. If not, I know of some that will guide you doing a family recipe book.
i think it was u too molls :)
That is okay w/me, at least we have Babble.I am fine with what we got. If it ain't broke, why fix it, right?
Can someone clue the Far right R and the single E in the second column for me for NBT?
Someone in my family made a family cookbook and I love it. I use it all the time.
Westford? You still want a homemade tomato soup recipe?
yes I would neil
I know someone who has a great one. A Babbler.
Then I can free myself from monkeying and go on to something...
I'm sorry West, did you ask for my tomato soup recipe? I'll put it in my profile.
rose far right r is sports official and pt
Hello Roses6! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid

See Laura [Fauxmage]. In fact, she has a really good recipe blog. Ummm, how can I send you the link? You can email me at the address in my bio.
Thanks Min. Just lurking - still 44 left and haven't got NBT yet.

Thanks west. will work with that.

She has a recipe for homemade ketchup in her blog, westford.
TY minv! always enjoy your stories!

must use lots of tomatoes
Speaking of tomatoes, tomorrow I am making Holiday Kielbasa which is made w/hamburger meat, kielbasa, and tomato soup. Something else I've never made b-4.
You'll see soon I guess, westford?
Just checked my hotmail and nothing there yet.
Help, have guests and they are arguing quite loudly in bedroom next to mine?????
and..done first one in a long time
Okay, tomato soup recipe in my profile.
Laura was online with us but she got disconnected, westford. We're waiting for her to return.
Knew I shouldnt have opened that last bottle of vino
Neil are you up for playing Letterblox?
Geez, that went into my spam folder, westford... got it now though, thanks. Sending you that link.
Ummm, maybe in a bit periwinkle? Just a little busy here at the moment.
ok I am going there now, maybe I will see you there
Let us know how your kielbasa turns out Min. Sounds good.
Concepta, sorry you're having trouble with your guests.
tonight was trip to purdy;s dockside here..local fishery... had fresh caught perch :)
maybe you should go to opposite end of house and open another bottle of wine????
Mmm, nothing like fresh fish.
More than half way, but must go off in search of dinner...hoping it would make itself whilst I babbled!! bbl *poof*
Good idea car but we have a heavy night tomorrow goingbt
Good idea car but we have a heavy night tomorrow goingbt

Hello periwinkle! How are you doing? Welcome to grid.
Hello uusue2! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
I've only got 76 but my goal every day is to achieve over 50% so I'm happy
Goodbye Jillyjill! I'll see you tomorrow in the chat log.
I am good, min.
I have a story of clues in profile if you want Concepta
Ok what do I do ?
Ok westford, if you're still here? Sent.
hi sue
Click on my icon or on my pink person and you'll see it
hi, carlee!
Concepta, I take it knocking on their door and asking them to hush isn't an option?
that is what i would be inclined to do too concep
Ok periwinkle. I'm signing into OMGPOP now. Did you accept my add on there so you get notified when I sign in?
Well to fill you in, we were having a get together for our pals getting married next weekend and we all dressed up as Romans ....I know , bear with me..so a gladiator and a spartan are in fine fighting mode, but they are gone asleep , it's all gone quiet, roll on Monday
well good..at least is quiet :)
Ok Periwinkle, if you're still here? I'm signed into OMGPOP now but can't find you because you haven't accepted my add there. If you do that I'll get a notification that you're logged in and can click a button/link to the game you're in.
If anyone thinks a villa in the south of france is a dream they would love to experience then I might write the book to dispel the myths.....
hahaha
1.20 am gotta go , hotel opens up at 8 again tomorrow,
back for my last 14
Hello again...
G'night Concepta. Hey KJE.
Hi Jellen, you glamor girl you.
Or glamour girl.
hello hello
lol, Molly
That's a lovely picture Jell. Did you get it professionally done or do you have a friend who is good with a camera?
If you could see me now! I had a pajama day today...
Thanks! A friend took it...
Goodbye Concepta! I will see you tomorrow in the log
I was thinking that too, jellen - you look great!
je6 the 2d?
Hello kje! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle.
and thanks for the clues, min! They are always helpful. I don't suppose you show your stories to your husband :-)
We had fun a couple of days ago...her shooting and me posing...
hey min! long time!
That second je 6/36 word is anagram of the first je6.
I think it's an anagram of the first, kje
ty!
hello everyone..I'm back again (bet you didn't even know I was gone )
hi, west!
Your friend is very good with a camera Jell.
hi sue!
West, tomato soup recipe in my profile.
No, I do not show the stories to hubby. He will not go ne 4/4 Babble with a 10 foot pole. He really does not rant & rave over Babble.Sometimes he gets annoyed, but I exaggerate for story purposes. He just doesn't play Babble. Hubby's game of preference is Farmville.
I will pass along the complement Molly...she'll be tickled!
Hello again Jellen and Westford.Welcome back to grid
thanks molly looking now
ah. Well, if he's playing Farmville all the time, he can't really complain about Babble. IMHO of course :-)
molly that looks delicious..so do the corn muffins
Seriously. At least Babble is good for your brain power. Games like Farmville disturb me.
The corn muffins are very good West. I had to clarify that they are sweet, because some folks here don't like sweet cornbread.
that's the way I like them
uh huh uh huh
depends on what i am usig them for... just plain cornbread along side some dish, I like a little sweet... for something like beas and cornbread, need not sweet
Bayview hospital in B-more had fab sweet cornbread... loved cornbread day
muffins sweet, cornbread not so much
By the way, I meant compliment in my post a while back...Sheesh! And I'm thinking of getting a master's in English!
I'm thinking of Brunswick stew right now
greetings all
hi gwen
Love cornbread muffins...
bruswich stew... mmmmmmmm! (but too hot here)
Hi, Gwen!
I am eating a hatch chili crab cake
goes so well with cornbread on a cold day
sounds nice west
uno!
A cold day? Like, down in the mid-70s?
Go kje, go!
Hi, gremlinn!
hi grem we'll be getting cold weather soon enough
Someone told me today that it would be humid this winter and hence feel colder...is that how it works?
muggy right now..storm coming but not Irene
hi Jellen
FW!
cold is cold
go kje
hi west
I think you're right though grem
I went car! ; )
By the way, one thing my photo shoot made abundantly clear...I need to hit the gym!
I'm still getting "HAHAHA, you're from San Diego? You don't know what you're in for."
Hooray for kje!
humid makes cold feel colder and hot feel hotter, so they say
absolutely true, gwen! and hi!
yay kje !!
Oh I agree. Damp cold chills me much more than dry cold.
I can vouch for the hot part of that but I've never lived in a place where it gets below mid-50s in the day any time of the year.
I vote for no humidity
I was very impressed by this when I moved to Los Alamos - it's in the mountains so gets plenty cold, but is in the desert, so the cold doesn't affect you nearly as much.
*Waiting for the Canadians to laugh at Grem*
that's why the weathertrons always say, e.g., high of 85, but it will feel like 90, or whatever
and don't forget those glorious wind chill factors
come to the 2nd worst climate on tehy planet and enjoy the weather extremes! (i refer of course to the climate region that includes minnesota, wisconsin, michigan, ontario, new york, etc)
I'm just not looking forward to winter
I want my wind chill now!
lol grem where are you?
I really, really, really don't like Winter. I suffer through it every year.
I moved to central Illinois
oh molly you had a hum dinger last year
i usually have a sore left nostril all winter
are you living with uusue now grem?
no, I live in northern Illinois (different university town :-)
not that I know of...
just kidding..thought you might find him in your spare bedroom
West, I think you are thinking about the winter before last. That is when we had three 20+ inch snow storms.
best weather on the planet is in SD
oh yes with 2 story snow piles
hello all
see how fast the time goes?
we have a saying im nichigan: if you don't like the weather, just wait 10 minutes. (one time i was in cleveland, ohio, and they told me they say the same thing.)
hi TO
ack, in michigan i meant
dene
dean
same with New England gwen
PB PB!
ty owl!
have those, TO :-)
keep going!
I read Michigan..husband is from there..they have winter and August
I remember one time when someone accidentally pasted their whole word list in the chat
they have a saying in minnesota: we have 9 months of winter and 3 months of bad sledding
that was around when I first started here
I read about that..how funny
here in michigan we have two seasons: winter and construction
we all should move to SD except for the Santa Ana's
but they don't last months
Visit Wall Drug LOL
they say that about Chicago, too, Gwen (winter and construction)
no not that one..San Diego
we were on our way west and we refused to stop at Wall Drug
darn it, everyone stealin' our folklore . . .
i went to wall drug in 1977. family trip in the car. best tourist trap in the whole state! (if you like that sort of thing)
we were so sick of the signs
bdg we have the same saying but as i am across border from Port Huron Mi i figure we are allowed :)
michigan's biggest tourtist trap is puny compared to wall drug!
Hi Book Doctor Gwen! How are you? Welcome to grid.
Hi gremlinn! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid.
carlee, you can say it, you're close enough lol
hiya min
we always go down to Grand Rapids via Port Huron
ismsfrisd the foilhat isnot wokring
Congratulations kje on your fireworks! Good for you!
phantom rodeo all over the place
love driving through Canada

and eject/reject too book!
South Dakota is one of the few states I have never visited (along with North Dakota, Montana, Idaho, and Alaska)
well there was a bit too much going on in chat, so i wanted to be protected/
yep!
Hi 72 Temple Owl!How are you doing? Welcome to grid
it's nice sue..but I'm not sure I'd like to live there
time for dinner take care all
there was an international graduate student here who talked about her first experience to the US - she moved from Indonesia to North Dakota
it was rather a shock
phantom toreador?
indonesia not so cold, eh?
i spent one week in north dakota, in the summer, and at night it was nearly freezing. Brrrrr
anyone have all 6 j words?
Goodbye westford! I will see you tomorrow in the log.
only 4 . . .
I do
four 4s, two 6s
I got all the J words what do you need 72 Temple Owl?
now 5 . . .
Hello Uneaixoise! How are you doing? Welcome to grid
Indonesia is quite tropical. She said she was always forgetting her coat; people used to watch out for her and run after her with it
hi, une!
well have the je 4 usually spelled with a g, then to make fun of & pt
hey, min :-)
and the spanish language big kahuna
Hello Babbleonia
and the ballet move
hey, sue :-)
well now missing the other 6
ty
Hi Wht
hi, wht!
hello wht
me too, TO
There is the past tense of pointing and laughing, but I don't know the ballet move.
It's an anagram of the other 6
My best ballet move is the spin and fall.
je 6/36s are anagrams of each other 72 Temple Owl.
ty Molly, got it
mine too, wht, although I don't usually finish the spin part
ty
I wonder if PDQ Bach has written any ballets?
Probably.
*Pictures Wht and Sue doing a pas de deux*
Has any babbler here gotten checks online instead of through their bank?I am pricing checks online. So far Walmart is the cheapest.Look at 3 different websites
hahaha, mollly, what you would see is 4 fe** in the air :-)
i need the lone E in the 4th row, if anyone can clue it, ty
I haven't ordered checks from my bank for decades, min
i've gotten checks online and have been very happy with them, minver
i do.
love them
water and wind er5 land
wear away, gwen
ty and hi dc!
And medics rushing to the stage
That er 5/12 word means to wear away as in soil BDG
the checks, not accessories, e sp the covers, they are poor quality
checks? what are those? :)
hi, dc!
i have ones with animal print trim
Hello dcseain! How are you doing?Welcome to the grid
and hi, shirlock!
Hi Shirlockc! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
I get mine from checksunlimited.com. Seriously, you people never have to write a check anymore? For anything?
i get checks here, and they are excellent: www.thecheckshop.us
I write very few checks any more (few enough that I go through the check registers that come with the checks much faster than I go through the actual checks)
v. v. rarely write a cheque these days
last time was to pay a contractor
i use designer checks. they have free shipping right now.
I only use them rarely too, but I still write them and find a need for them.
hooray i found the 8
Maybe that is because I very rarely use my credit cards.
yay, gwen!
i write them. if not for tremendous medical bills this year, i only need about 19 chekcs per month
i ship things at the post office regularly, and they take checks, so i usually use a check there. most other places don't take checks anymore, or only if you have one of their loyalty cards or something
opps make that 7
i use to pay ulitlities and my service providers - hairdresser, etc
I, at most, write one check a year at this point. ON the occasion i need one, i usually have my bank issue it through the electronic banking.
and if you order a used book online, most of the old-fashioned dealers are happy to take a check, since they then don't have to pay a cc processing fee
I don't pay some of my bills on line because they constantly (Comcast) deduct the payment before the date I schedule it.
i also mail at most 2 things a year, so go to the post office rather than keep stamps on hand.
comcast is EVIL
<---writes checks
(so says my dalek, and it should know)
LOL gwen.
what's a dalek?
yeah, I am not crazy about comcast but am stuck with them (the best I can say about them is they are better than Verizon)
hi, ruru!
hi, sue, sorry got distracted
I keep stamps on hand. I mail quite a few things. Birthday cards, etc.
hi uu.. hi everyone.. hi molly
*crosses self at mention of unholy one*
np, dc :-)
ruru, my icon is a dalek. they are evil. (look it up on wikipedia for more on that)
less evil then verizon. Ha!
clue for the first re7 please.
I'm in the same boat Sue. I refuse to use Verizon for internet and Comcast is the only other game in town. I despise them both though, one a little less than the other.
i avoid post offices -- they sent back my niece's bday card, i'm convinced it's because they didn't know where NEWFOUNDLAND was
Oh Shirl, I had so many bad experiences with Canada Post when I was mailing things to Dan.
my phone and ISP is ATT and they seem to be competing with comcast, verizon, aol, mall-wart, and a few other places for the title of most evil
Many Canadians i know despise Canada Post with a passion.
my cell phone is AT&T, it's been pretty ok so far
this is a brooklyn post office -- i told my family, i'm never mailing things again
sue, wait till you're on their support line for 4 hours and they still can't fix it. or something like that.
do i sound bitter? you bet.
i have heard bad things about the postal service in new york city. (and in italy, too)
The worst part of being on hold with verizon and listening to how easy it was to do everything on line, when the problem was that my Internet wasn't working.
Wht!!! I agree. How dumb is that?
my local AT&T store is pretty good - when I had a problem I went there and they sat around on hold instead of me
yeah, one time when my connection was down, they offered to email me the information. Boneheads!
ha hey actually TOLD me that when I cimpalianed about the wait
hang on, I smell fire - hopefully someone is barbecuing...
you could have reached on i line . with the wireless that does not work ha
I get the same stupid recording from the electric company when I call because the power is out. Hey boneheads, I can't access your handy dandy site if I have no power.
lol I hadn't thought of that molly..lol
Good Lord Sue, what an exit line.
go here if you want to read about my 4-hour pointless phone call to ATT after they SLAMMED my internet connection: http://tinyurl.com/3u2p9g7
hmm, i must rememer to take my reading glasses off while taking dinner outof the oven :( ouch
egad, let's keep our fingers in the shape of a chalice for sue . . .
Oh Gwen, I hear you. I had a four hour pointless phone call with Verizon.
Of course, if things are as bad as the predict this weekend we can hit the trifecta with phone, power and cable all out at once.
i did post a link for an emergency home kit and an emergency car kit
Hello rururocks! How are you doing? Welcome to grid.
I hate Verizon
fine thanks minver.. you?
I don't like Comcast. Got rid of them earlier this year
please i am really really really scared, the ground here is saturated and my neighbor drains her runoff here although i've asked for a year she direct it down to the street
Yes, but your emergency car kit did not include a pint of something. Mine does. Always be prepared. : D
OMG, Book Doctor - just quickly skimmed your horror story - I now feel just a tiny bit better about the hours I have spent on the phone trying to fix some very simple problems with VERIZON =
So do I have to re4,5 my request for a clue for the re7,32 that follows after it?
How far are you from the shore, TO?
i have 23 words to go, but no 7s nor the 8 :)
I do not mind Verizon.I have Verizon wireless. Never a problem so far. I like being eligible for a free phone every 2 years. I'm eligible now for one, but I'm happy with my old LG. Hubby just got the Blackberry Curve.
Sorry Wht. Color + part of a plant that grows in the ground.
well, all is well here at least, probably someone burning wood in their yard
ty, molly.
zebra suited guys DC
ty Molly. Fireworks.
Yay Wht!!!
congrats, wht
I like your volcano wht.Mine looks like a candle in the chat log. I do not feel like changing myu icon though.
Congratulations wht on your fireworks! Good for you
The 8 is what the zebras did yesterday
*~*~*POMPOM TOSS*~*~*wht
you would think a phone company would have a better "phone maze" system - it's a nightmare getting through.
Sue, I have the occasional outdoor fire in my chiminea. But since everyone around me has fireplaces, the smell of burning wood does not alarm anyone.
i am still missing a 7, have re and or
Another re TO
My volcano, Min??? My icon is a picture of myself.
Did I blow my top?
have the zebra
Oops! That message was for dcseain then. Sorry wht.
Think sports official TO
:) ty, minver
ty, ru and molly
Wht, did you blow your top again?
have that
well, I wasn't exactly worried, molly, but do like to check these things out
and yay, wht!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Then you missed the color + part of a plant that grows under ground clue I guess.
is today volcano?i have a great pic for that
yes, today is volcano :)
I understand Sue. Always good to make sure that the "fire" you smell is harmless.
neat photo you've got, minver
*puts away matches*
Thanks dcseain!
in the used book biz we have a term very similar to the re7, remove one O and you get a word for a kind of decay that happens to leather (this word is not accepted by the game, tho) 8-(

Hello uusue2! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
ty people , no ne4 to clue them for me, though
New to babble. How do you know the first two letters of a word and the points for that word?
Lickety's Babble Clues, link below the grid, for many of us. Welcome, Ms Bowers
Thank you dcseain! I was sure it would be an easy answer, was a bit afraid to post the question!
uh-oh - reports of a fire on the 8th floor of the old folks home around the corner from me - wonder why I didn't hear sirens? hope all are ok...
always feel free to ask, we're happy to help as we can. and share recipes and what.
that must be what I smell...
Hi MsBower! You can get lots of clues: click on the tiny green link at the bottom for Lickety's Babble Clues Lickety gives you the first two letters of each word, plus how many letters in the word, plus the word's point value The point value sometimes helps you figure out if you need a word with a high-scoring letter in it, and things like that
oh dear, sue, hope everyone's okay, and it's not a major fire.
Yes, I am very thankful for the all the clues given! They have certainly helped. Unfortunately, have not gotten all the words . . . yet!
careful Msb, this game is highly addictive
hi, babblers!
it took me better part of 9 months to finish my first grid :)
evening, welki
holy crap, sue! you said you smelled something buring earlier . . .
hi welk
Hi all...especially to MsBowers...welcome to our little addiction!
lucky you DC.. the rest of us only get 24 hours.
shhh, jilly
you know full well what i meant, ruru :)
MsBowers, at least todays grid is relatively small. Yesterdays had 300 some words in it.
LOL
Smells fire + no sirens = Not good
Thank you Jillyjill! Wht, I am feeling a proud today as I have more than half the words. Not quite up to speed like all of you! :)
yes, gwen, that must have been it - won't walk over there as I don't want to get in the way but am watching the news
apparently there are fire trucks there, maybe they didn't want to scare the residdents/
?
Hello MSBowers! How are you? Welcome to Babbleland.
Hello welki! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle

earthquake, hurricane, fire. what next?
Thank you Minveryork!
One of the nice things about this game is that you can set your own goals.

Frogs and locusts. Next week.
Hello jesdraggon! How are you doing? Welcome to grid
hi jes
oh lawdy lawdy
We already have locusts here Wht. I'll be on the lookout for frogs.
uusue2, maybe you can call the fire department if no sirens yet.My hubby did that once. He called the fire department thinking the neighbor's house was on fire
really. wht, are you my fb friend? cuz posted that day of quake
sounds like you guys are sinners
i felt the earthquake the other day. only slightly affected us up here in michigan
Sinners have more fun, ruru.
My dad's a volunteer firefighter. He got called to put out the moon once.
tell me about it..lol
No, I am not on fb, TO, but I'll be your friend anyway. :^)
finally got all the 7s
can't believe i forgot the ountain ridge! ty for clues all
s.ok wht, i am no longer accepting fb friends
do tell the story jes?
nbt
was last fall, fire dept got a call about a fire in some trees.
how drunk was the person who called that in? lol
I was wondering where the moon went.
they all load up and head out. when they get there, the guy points at a line of trees up the hill, just as the moon rises up above the tree line.
molly, I got the news on facebook as a tweet from the student newspaper, they get their info from the police scanners, and someone posted that they were there and there were a lot of fire trucks, so probably it is ok
LOL, that's something people around here would do!
hi, jes! I've seen the moon look very big red and glowing as it rises over the mountains, so I can understand the error, but I think I would check a little more closely before calling the fire department
Glad all is okay Sue.
Me too!
are there any oo words?

*wanders back in*
25 left. i think i will relent and go to list
yeah i know mine
Seriously Jen, if you were preparing for this hurricane we would be at Armageddon status.
well they are making it sound like armegeddon ( pasta salad since it is in my popcorn bowl )
It's the panic factor. Makes people go out and consume. Not that people shouldn't be prepared, but really, you should have preparedness stuff on hand all the time.
Heard it's the worst hurricane in the last seven years
i will likely prep some food so that i dont HAVE to cook ready made stuffs..sub stuffs...granola bars...
I agree MollyL
in case for some whacked out reasin our hydro here goes out
Wait, wait, this thing is going up into CANADA???
I am scared I am going to lose power and not be able to Babble at all. There's no preparing for that.Oh well.
reason*
molls...remember hurricane Hugo?
I lost 2 century old trees in LOndon ON to that hurricane
but yes they expect the eye at this point to hit new york then montreal...
if it doesnt head east as soon as they hope....it could get worse for me
Last report I heard, it was going to hit NY Saturday evening & last through Sunday evening. Hopefully by the time it gets to NYC, it will have died down some.
afternoon everyone! anyone have a clue for de 6/21 please?
more than de4
?
re 6/21...re + a **** John letter
add 2 letters to the end of de4 immediately before it, making it mean more
Oops...de 6/21...one who throws pointy projectiles at a target in bars
then ending for "one who does", though that's not what it makes the word mean this time.
that's da, molly
thanks

That's pretty Neil.
Just for you, Laura.
Aw, thank you. :o)
Hello Fauxmage! How are you doing? Welcome to grid.
You're welcome. Didn't happen to have a rose handy, so that will have to do.
Hi Minveryork, thanks.
Seems to be quiet in here so I am out for the evening.
Goodnight to my fellow babblers! I'll see you tomorrow
Evening all
Evening, NonnieLight.
I was taking a gander at your photos Neil. My son and his wife go to Burning Man each year. Are you attending this year's?
No, I'll be working.
I haven't gone back since then, Nonnie.
Do they take their bikes with them too? You really need them to get around there... everything's so widely spread out!
They go each year to celebrate their anniversary--they were married there. I pretty sure they do haul their bikes with them.
Oh nice!
I imagine it is a pretty wild place as the "old folks" weren't invited to the wedding. lol
Haha, you can say that again.
I think the few photos I dared to share from there kind of indicate that, just a little?
You have Flickrmail, Nonnie.
Yep. :o) Their wedding video, which they shared with us, was an eye opener. But that is their thing and they aren't hurting anyone.
flickrmail? I don't think I do. I have photos posted but I wasn't aware there was mail with that?
do = so
Yes, look up in the top left part of any page on there, after refreshing the page.
It will be a connection request.
Haha, I'll bet their wedding video was interesting.
5
4
well...crappin crimany! Seems I can't remember my yahoo account name.
3
What are you counting down, Laura?
Oh no, Nonnie?
2
How many words I have left.
1
Fireworks!
Go, Laura!
Mazel tov, Laura!
congrats Faux!
Thanks Neil.
Thanks Nonnie.
You're welcome.
This chammomile tea is tasting so nice.
yay, fauxmage!
Hello Une!
Thank you Uneaixoise.
hey, nonnie :-)
You'll fall asleep before the flip Neil.
Heading to bed. Take care all.
nite, nonnie :-)
Good night, Nonnie.
I will not, Laura... wide awake. Well ok, maybe half awake.
Cute baby, Uneaixoise!
he's such a sweetheart -- was thrilled to meet him today! :-)
Aww, first time?
he's just a month old -- born in Alabama -- RAchael brought him to TN to spend a couple of days with my brother and I drove up to see him this morning :-)
Oh, I see. :)
Neil, where's your blog?
I'm careful who I share that with, Une.
oh, ok
It's on Google, Blogger/Blogspot.
It's linked from my Google+ page. People who are on there who I feel ok connecting with can connect.
since you mentioned it in your profile . . . :-)
does your mention of Huntsman mean you're a *gasp* Republican?
Yes. Actually it started off in my own website. Until a nasty *@%$#! hacked my website and deleted everything on me... then stole my domain name, which I fought for almost a year to get back.
I am most certainly NOT a republican!
Just because I make such an observation does not make me one.
oh, jeez, what a nightmare!
LOL!!
Laura can tell you that I'm definitely not one!
my latest bumper sticker: Red State Democrat
Good!
If you were in our network on G+ you'd see all of my political posts and know better. ;)
:-D
My father on the other hand, votes republican. You can imagine the rather heated arguments we get into.
Oh, sorry. No Neil isn't Republican.
His Dad is though. :P
Haha, yes.
But you know, I'll defend anyone's right to vote for whoever they want... provided they make a truly informed decision.
oh, please . . . my daughter and I are the only Democrats in our entire extended family . . .
Yeah.
Oh, I see... you can relate then.
and there's the rub -- people voting based on sound bites
Yep.
ok, i'm pooped -- re7 and 8 please?
Are you on google by any chance?
re7,40 -- color and part of plant, underground.
Sorry, re7,32.
oh, i have that one . . .
I'm so tired I'm not seeing clearly.
have the color and plant
Oh ok, so you need the re7,40 -- an officiator at a sports game/match?
oh, good grief, thanks!
And the re8,60 is past tense of his action.
You're welcome.
yup, got it :-)
Good!
Was that all you needed for fireworks?
and bingo, firewords!!
Mazel tov!
Crashing . . . bonne nuit a tout le monde! *poof*
Do you have a Google/Gmail account?
Oh ok then. Good night!
Congratulations Une. :o)
oh, yes, i set one up a long time ago but then didn't use it . . .
Oh, well if you want to be invited to G+ let me know.
Then you can see my blogs.
will revisit it at some point :-)
ok, will check 'em out :-)
Meanwhile the email address on profile works.
Did you finish your tea Neil?
hello everyone just came back to finish my last 3 and I do have Fireworks !!!

Doesn't matter.
I've been texting all evening with a man I agreed to meet for lunch tomorrow...
Hello all
Thank you. :o)
Hi, jilli
hi jilli
Hi Jill.
Oh yes, Jellen? Hope all goes well.
: ) Jellen
Hi jilli.
Hi Jilli
OOh, Jellen! :-)
Hi Jellen.
hi all here for the flip
guessing 225
how nice jellen..first time in person?
He uses funny syntax in his texts...not optimistic...
no 63
west, I hope you're prepared for Irene!
185 ...
Yes, west...first time...
he's nervous?
jilli I think it will pass right by us
I hear it may hit NYC
that is the worry
be safe Jell
and they did say RI
right down 5th Ave they're saying
We're worried about all of our favorite place in OBX, NC...
Don't think he's nervous...I asked where he was from originally and he said he was born in Scotland...but that doesn't explain the weird syntax...
place=places
depends on the direction of the wind when it gets there
oh but maybe a great accent
Oh, thanks, Dee...We're meeting in a very public place...
or is that brogue?
glad to hear that
like what's weird about the syntax?
That's just what I'm wondering?
