You find the smaller grids are easier word-wise, gremlinn? Some are, but I've found a lot of them seem harder than the really big ones.

Oh, no, they are kept separate. Miss Bea has the entire downstairs. Tucker and Gandalf each have their own room. Tucker is in my bedroom so during the night I am sometimes awoken when the 10 pounder jumps on the bed and places whiskers in my face.

thanks, loved working with the books, not always happy with the customers or management, but it was a great job. this last crew i worked with was really good and fun. that's really the sad part. almost 11,000 people out of a job.

bichon -- it was very scary, as he had no history of it. and just the day before felt completely fine, and didnt present in the usual way. they couldnt figure out what it was for quite a while and could only keep pumping in the blood that he was losing.

My grandfather was much worse. He was in his 80's and had been having sporadic pain for a while. His intestines burst and then infection. He survived the surgery, but died a few months later
my dad is 70, and overall doesnt really take good care of himself. im hoping this gave him the kick in the pants that he needs.
He was doing okay after he got out of the hospital. but, he had a colostomy bag. He wanted it removed, but died during that surgery.
so sorry, bichon. thankfully, my dad doesnt need that.

yeah. our friends just seem to be "blah" lately, and somehow, everyone elses birthdays seem to be important, but ours (especially his) kinda get swept under the rug. we both kinda get the feeling of being second-class-citizens in our own group of friends...
the whole 'don't do for me' is part of that mood... he and you should just go out and enjoy the day! Together! Forget the friends... make it about him and you only

i was hoping to take friday off, since thats his actual bday, but my manager will be out of town, which means *I* have stuff i have to do that day.
i could try that, in theory, but i know in the back of his mind, he will just be upset that no one else gave a crap. i have sent out an evite to a bunch of our friends for people to come hang out friday night, and literally only 2 people other than us are able to make it.
it sucks when you want to do something nice for him, but can't... and friends are being 'bleh'.

its always been a little tough in our group of friends because he shares his bday with one friend (and coincidentally, i share a bday with her hubby). people fawn all over her, and then its like "oh yeah, its your bday too, right?"
this year, said friend just had a baby (yesterday!, congratulations to her! :) ) and all of our other friends are suddenly too busy with other things. but really, we know if she were home and ready to celebrate, so would everyone else.

Eva - much the same happened to us after we got married. It was suddenly like pulling teeth to get together with friends. When it started to be that hubby and I were the only one making the effort and the invitations, I pulled the plug. We still keep in touch with friends, but it's only verbal and very infrequent.

oh, no, she gets kibble, the odd catnip, and i avoid letting her have people food

if you stop eating it for any real length of time, you'll stop producing lactase, and the bacteria that help digest lactose will be out-competed and die off. So then when you go back to eating it, you can't break down the sugar, and the bacteria in your gut ferment it, leading to gas production, cramping, and osmotic diarrhea.

in my case, i've always eaten dairy. At age 27, someone suggested that dairy was the cause of the dark circles under my eyes and my nasal issues. I went w/out for a week, and wow, much better.

I suppose it depends on what they're doing, but I don't see why they should be. Even surgeons often aren't; that's why there are several companies that make beard covers for surgeons.

the only time I have been asked to shave anything of mine in a hospital is if I am having an operation on it! LOL!!! I have a very bare knee and werewolf legs!
My son has gotten a volunteer job at the local hospital greeting patients and delivering things to patient rooms. I just find it odd that he's being required to shave for this. He normally wears a short, close cropped beard and mustache.

No, it's not in their volunteer handbook. I'm guessing elderly patients have complained about facial hair, since they are of the "clean is clean shaven" generation. He's fine with shaving, it's bugging me a little though.

I don't know JBV, but I'm sure as hell going to find out. My daughter-in-law is a nurse at the same hospital.
Most hospital employees are required to be clean shaven so that certain masks and such fit appropriately.
I volunteered in a hospital when I was a kid - had to wear a stupid pink smock - hated it, but all the volunteers wore them - even the men!
