I used nicorette gum and fake cigarettes called Paipo (no longer available) which were nicotine-free and had a menthol flavour, dragged like a cigarette so satisfied the oral habit.

I have tried 'champix' twice...first time I lasted 6 months, then had drastic family issues...2nd time the 'champix' made me very sick....at least I have cut down to around ten a day.

neil, I did it because my son and his wife (and my husband) had quit and we were flying west from Montreal to Vancouver to visit them. Air Canada had banned smoking on the planes and that meant 5 whole hours without a cigarette (horrors!). So lots of reasons to quit. But when we got to their place we found that they had taken up smoking again! Gaaah! Stuck to it anyway.

How is your autumn? When do you get your first snow?
so far our autumn is just wet and windy, not much colour changes yet. It was a bit weird with a bad summer and then some hot days all of a sudden in early autumn. Snow we never now. It comes when it comes... sometimes as early as october, sometimes as late as april. And some years, just no snow at all.

Sometimes NO snow? We have had a beautiful autumn and the last several days continuing through the next few days= summer weather again!
Our first snow falls in October but does not stick til November. We average 120-140 inches of snow each winter. There is a ski resort across the valley from me.
oh how lovely, Scrabs! I so love Autumn. yes, sometimes no snow at all. Some years too much all winter through. Very unpredictable weather in the netherlands.
The tree colors are almost at "peak"."

and not just any dog... a great big golden retriever... huge 50kg at least animal!!! no collar... i drove around the neighbourhood looking out for people that might be looking for a dog... nothing. So this dog is in my garage, on a doggy bed, with blankets, water and food, and soothing music. I am the sick puppy around here!!
you can't turn a stray away... just no... can't do it. Anything could happen to it and I would have to live with it. My kids are kind hearted and know I will just take the animal in. Innocence gets to me.

My sister just found a black cat up in Chicago. declawed, too skinny, and in the middle of the street. She asked me to take it. How can you say no? Especially to a black cat near Halloween. You don't know what someone might do to it.

Midnight in UK and midday in midwest USA is wher I think the grid flips.
Or 6am in UK and 6pm in the midwest.
