i ahve lived here 11 years - the longest I've lived anywhere in my life - and although IO'm not a hoarder or collector I do seem to have accumulated lots in the last 11 years
Ever since my parents died have been clearing my 'stuff' regularly. Its so awful having to clear my parents belongings that I would hate that to happen to my kids
oh yes, that would be awful. I'm guessing that will be my job when my mum goes - don't suppose broithers will want to tackle it. Mind you my mum has had to clear out dad's things (he died in July) and she has had a major blitz of her own stuiff too so i guess she's thinking ahead, bless her

I am finding - 4 months on - that little things pop up which remind me of dad - and sometimes that's a happy feeling, sometimes not - for instance I was at the works Xmas meal last night and we pulled crackers and my 'gift' was a tiny sinning top - and my dad adored spinning tops and we put a new one in his Xmas stocking every year so at least it was a happy reminder of dad at Xmas

I have 6 siblings and they are here too... nieces, nephews, etc... I am blessed

my dad wants me to talk for the family at the memorial service... that will not be fun

i spoke at my dad's - i told everybody at the service that dad was still alive in our memories and recounted soem things about him which people would remember with fondness - keeping people up until the wee hours, telling jokes, big smiles and welcomes, stubbornness etc
and we played his favourite music rather than hymns

dr god fixed it promptly and it went back to normal around 10 minutes after flip time

kaplan, I had posted that very question about 12 months ago, and was roundly sounded down by people INSISTING it could never happen....but numerically, it makes sense doesn't it?
There are only so many letter combinations.
it used to be that cluing was not allowed - at all - for like the first hour or something, but that has seemed to go out the window

Having accomplished little due to chatting I am now going to feed my BF so he can go to work on a full belly! BBL fer shur!
we will start with 2 jumbo brown eggs from the farm up da street,i will scrambe these for you in butter and add diced lightly fried sweet valencia onions.then when they are on da plate we can shred some 5 year old quebec apple wood smoked cheddar on them..now....ahh some crispy rasher of maple kissed and hickory smoked bacon and to fill the plate we can add a small portion of diced russet tater fried all crispy in olive oil to become beautiful home fries..now for bread..ah! some nice crunchy whole wheat english muffins with apple jelly or strawberry jam.we can then wash it all down with some nice tropican(no pulp) ice cold orange juice...will that do trif?
and i can always add a bowl of fresh diced fruit in light syrup if it all make you feel guilty eating that lol

i think ...we have gotten more allergies from sulfites and other added chemicals in our processed foods and drinks.

hi sue. DH is tucked safely in bed and not wanting to move much. He'd be a lot happier if we had a TV in there; but we don't so he has t sleep. He was feeling pretty smart last evening and was in the Lazy Boy chair; but he ended up finding out that he should be in bed (as the discharge orders said)
I was amazed! His surgeon called at 9 PM last night to check on him! How often does that happen (being a nurse and having had several surgeries myself; I know the answer is ra** to never!)
wow, that is impressive!! I have hardly ever had a surgeon call me at home to see how I was doing! (maybe once?)
My oral surgeon always called the next day to see how I was doing after a tooth extraction. That is the sign of a very good doctor.

ah, you remind me, Molly, once many years ago I ran a high fever after a wisdom tooth extraction - the dentist and my primary physician showed up together at my door to see how I was!!! (It was a very small, relatively isolated town, though)

Hate to rain on someones parade but Cos - there was a story on yahoo yesterday about the fire and it has big issues. Try to find it. Some really bad stuff there.
We dont have them here yet.... but am going to the US for christmas and new year and was thinking of getting one for the husband
my biggest issue between the two is that on my old kindle I use collections to manage content, and the fire doesn't yet have that in firmware. Hate that part. Otherwise I am loving it, especially for magazine subscriptions.
We use our kindle for book collections too and for downoading english papers when we are abroad. But the fire sounds interesting. Might look up the piece form Yahoo. Thanks

i took the day off cause jeremy is abroad and liz had to take a 6 am flight to dc. so i drove up wednesday after school. we built the house in the morning, then i took her to school, played with levi. picked her up, we decorated the house (and the kids ate soooo much candy). then liz came home while i was making dinner.. took a few shots of the finishing touches and i skidaddled. was very tired friday!

it's a sugar cookie, with a cinnamon-sugar "crust" formed by rolling the ball of dough in cinnamon sugar before baking. Very yummy, and very sugary.

Ibd...no, titanium is not magnetic. I have a plate and 7 titanium screws in my ankle and they told me it wouldn't interfere with getting an MRI if I need one.
