I enjoyed the dry winter in Kimberley, not as cold as winter in Southern Ontario

it is odd
been a very mild winter out here, hardly any snow - kind of disappointed
we only had one snowfall this year, tied things up a bit, some folk were snowed in for a few days
we don't have much in the way of snow removal, so the main roads are cleared first
heh, for sure - can't imagine what europe's had to go through with all their snow
we do lose power occasionally, usually due to high winds
should go to bed though, good luck with the puzzle
have a generator but have only used it once in 17 years

Hello Molly! What a beautiful sunrise...or is that a sunset? Either way, it is gorgeous!
I guess I'm hopelessly uninformed. I thought the A word that meant to straighten had a G in it. *Crawls back under rock*
It works both ways in Enable. going to click on the word and see what it says.
Get out from under that rock!
Molly, I wonder what it would say about us, if you didn't tell, sunrise? sunset? We should vote.

My initial guess was sunrise.
Molly, its the skirt.
Did Molly come out?
I think the picture is open to interpretation. I see it as a sunrise too.

Good morning, kids.
hi there Judi
I see the grid does not allow "inlaw" or "inlaws". Perhaps that's not a bad thing.
that's silly.
must be hyphenated
But totally understandable.
I guess so.
Outlaw is not hyphenated.
Good point, Kap.
I'm full of good points.
but outlaw and in-law are unrelated
So don't come too close.
My inlaws could be outlaws.
Although, some of us may have in-laws who are outlaws.
*linguistically* unrelated.
i mean apart from both having to do with law.
And genetically.
I am so pleased to be clearing up these fine points of grammar.
fw, a fun grid

It must be hard to sell real estate in this area. There are so many agents.
not too hard. Does mean that you need to have a good personality click, though
and there are a limited number of full-time agents.
good luck with the new career DC ...you have good empathy with people and are very open which your future customers will relate to...I am sure you will be successful

Kind of ironic, you not getting that one Ru. : P
no kidding
Speaking of Mardi Gras, I used to work with someone who had a dress made out of Mardi Gras beads. It was one of the coolest things I've ever seen.
jmitch, what part of Mississippi?
oh.. how many times did she have to flash them to get those?
I would imagine that was no problem Ru. This woman was wild, crazy and lots of fun. I wish I knew more people like her.

I thought el5 was what you got on internet dating sites. : P

10 left! any clues for the HYs?
hi all!
hi sue - very cool pic today
thanks! I like it :=)
I don't like to use a list (which accounts for my exceedingly low ranking) but if i did, hypothetically, where would i find it? hi sue
hi mab! lickety has a list (click on Lickety
join the dark side, mab, it's the lickety link below the grid
Mab -- Lickety's Babble Clues, below the grid
I had to list at 50 to go today
Hello all
sorry, once again the return key is too close to the apostrophe
hi jill
hi jilli!
this is the time I like, when people are giving real clues instead of just "calling" at fliptime.
oh thanks, didn't know that was up again. i like your icon too sue - i never knew such things existed. hi jilli.
Unfortunately, it's also supper time here so I can't hang around.
i like your photo, jilli. I'll bet your son is very handsome now. he was then.
3 left! all hy :)
ok, see you later, jilli!
Thanks, mab -- my son is now 63 and not too much the worse for wear -- has all his hair anyway, lol!
But it's longer...
I love acoustic guitar. And I would never be able to play at the flip. People just shouting out clues and stats really bugs me.
i know what you mean about the flip. for me it feels like such a feeding frenzy.
it's like a race
I agree Mab and I have never thought of this game as competitive.
If I'm up that late, I'm cooking or cleaning the kitchen or mopping up vomit
The flip used to be fun. I don't like it now but like to try to get nbt and ignore the shouts.
I've been on at the flip occasionally, and it is a very different experience - I like it better later when people are more mellow
Vomit, Harry???
lol @ Harry!
he has babies, I think, jilli
I have one kid who likes to throw up at around that time...
you really live on the edge, don't you harry?
When I had young kids, that would have been the only reason I would be up at that time.
OH, of course.
yes mab, I'm a party animal
The few times I have been up at the flip (insomnia) I just turn chat off.
Feeding frenzy...good description Mab. : )
When I was in Israel, flip came at 8 am local time - was very strange :-) - but usually I was busy
That's so sad, Molly -- it used to be such fun, a meet and greet, until the speedsters from the dead Tangleword arrived.
oh tangleword! I used to do that! I always lost so badly
they seem to have names that are variations on the word 'ranny
my favorite was #boggle on irc chat
granny
It bugs me when what a few want changes the dynamics of an internet community.
i'm not naming names, just pointing to a sort of irony.
This was a cooperative game, not competitive, with players giving clever or funny clues a little after the flip -- then some wanted no clues for at least an hour, and then the "calling" began...
And yet there are the real pioneers, like jacula, who didn't even have the Tile Stats, and don't want clues or the list and manage to finish -- I have no idea how!
The fun of this game for me is finding words on my own. I don't mind the occasional clue in chat, if one is asked for. I just don't get why people have to blurt out clues when none are asked for.
phew done
Yay Harry!
hooray for Harry!!!
hooray :)
yay harry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
mazel tov harry
personally I like the chat - I have the same game on my phone (without chat) and it doesn't hold my interest. (Although I am easily distracted).
I love chat Sue. Just not clue blurting. : )
it's harold arlen's birthday today
It'sa sad that someone like stidmama has decided she's not enjoying babble any more and is quitting. We also lost the most interesting franmag of Hawaii, who matched the icon themes with Hawaiian information. And of course as everyone knows, I regret the lack of interest in the themes and the exchange of info, opinions, humour and so on which they used to generate.
I didn't know that Stid has announced she's quitting. That is sad.
<-- had to google Harold Arlen, and now has "Over the Rainbow" running through her head
Here endeth the endless lesson. I shall now retreat to the kitchen and listen to the universal sigh of relief!
Sorry jilli, finding original theme pics takes so much time and effort, and I just like to concentrate on the game, and chat idly
Stid is also quitting Facebook and most other online activities - I think she needed to simplify her life.
hey jilli, are you near Gabriola I?
chacun a son gout, harry and that's not just apain in the foot.
that was with yip harberg. he also wrote with ira gershwin, johnny mercer.
I did the themes for a little while, jilli, but then decided to do my own thing with the astronomy pictures - I don't mean any disrespect to the group, I just like the informational part of it
Harry, Gabriola is one of the other Gulf Islands -- it's not far but a bit unreachable from here.
aah, I just knew it from their "complaint choir"
No prob, sue -- I know I'm a pain about it -- just reminiscing about a few years ago. Your icons are very interesting too.
Harry, what is your connection with Gabriola?
stormy weather, the man who got away, paper moon, let's fall in love, come rain or come shine - he just wrote so many great songs
oh, thanks, jilli, I'm glad you enjoy them!
son of a cantor
There are some very funny videos by these "complaint choirs" and one of them is from Gabriola.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BeO-K_q I2w8
Over the years, I have seen a lot of people quit/scale back on their computer time because it was taking too much time away from the important things in their life. Nothing wrong with that. There is more to life that being in front of the computer all the time.
it's all very tongue in cheek
hi
Harry, it's wonderful -- Gabriola is very close to Salt Spring in spirit -- I'm going to post this on FB although it's a few years old, I think. It's classic.
There are other ones - I suppose somebody not local wouldn't understand all the jokes, but Helsinki's is very good, and Jerusalem's too
hi pickles!
and I agree, very cute, Harry!
hi, uusue
Gotta go -- Coronation Street is on -- back alter
*later (free anagram given)
help with the middle ea?
an old diner might have a sign saying good ea**
and a compass heading
Pickles...not hard
why couldn't i see that?
Or not difficult
Because it's all twisty : )
ok then...
may as well hit the sheets..poink

Just let me know next time I can not help you at all ..
women love funny men
what you don't want is a woman who doesn't get your funniness
all men are funny.
witty, not funny looking or something
not too many jungles in Africa
the li4 is "king of the beasts". Now this pedant will disappear into jigidi for a bit, having reached halfway here in a state of exhaustion.
You think I'm funny? Do I amuse you?
