no news on Max, so I fear that he's dead under some hedge or bush somewhere, probably won't be found 'til Spring but, because we've been so terribly sad, I contacted our "chow friend" in Italy to look around for a mall pup and she may have found one. He will be 3 months old mid-March and the hopefulness of that has made us both stop crying.

oh Ruby that's made me cry as well - we lost one of our little dogs a few years ago but we never found her

had sad news yesterday... a sweet lady from church, just retired 2 weeks ago; went to FL with her hubby; went to church on Sunday, wasn't feeling well was taken to hosp in ambulance, and was dead upon arrival at hosp....

Life is sooo precious....we will be celebrating my Mums 85th birthday this week end...and one of my nieces isn't coming cos she doesn't approve of her mum's new partner (her mum has been widowed for 12 yrs and has found a ray of sunshine)
had such an amazing ladies' Bible study tonight at church... almost 30 women of all ages came... studying Jonah... it was soooo cool... also had the best homemade cupcakes ever!

I think the normal life span for her breed is 12-14 years. She had slowed up considerably but we still weren't expecting her to go so soon.
we've had bad luck with our chows but we still love the breed

he will be 3 months on the 13th. He family are not breeders but they have chows from the same Canadian bloodlines as ours, Mi_apo kennels in Ontario

sue, I don't know if this will help you, but it always helps me no end when I get a bit of poison ivy -- run your hand under the hottest water you can stand - it will literally feel like you are scratching it, for a minute. When you start to feel like it's too hot, take your hand out. The hot water releases histamines, or antiistamines, I always forget which, in your skin, and it won't itch for HOURS.Blessed, blessed relief

Sometimes children are at such a nice stage you kind of wish they could stay that way for longer. But they're constantly changing and you just have to keep up with it as best you can.
Yes the early years are tough. I have no family support and if I hadn't discovered Mum & Toddlers groups when they were 1 2 and 3 I would have imploded!!! But I agree, every year with them is better than the last. I have a 16 year old also, so I kind of dread what is ahead with them!!
that is one of my objections to the idea of having some. always changing. i don't like change. i was so happy when *i* finally stopped growing and my shoe size became consistent, etc.

Well Haz, she did her best, but it was hard for her as she had been an only child AND and only grandchild for all of her 5 years, and within a couple of months she got a cousin, a brother and a sister! In some ways I think she still hasn't recovered from the shock of it all!
