Had a great day today; finished packing the dining room and the living room!!!
wtg, dee.
i think kitchens are the worst to pack.
That is the last thing to do; I totally agree; am dreading it, except we have already done the pantry, so that will be helpful.
Hoping to get everything done inside (except for computer room and what we are using) by Friday night, so hubby can concentrate on his garage and attic... those will be awful since he has been in charge of those areas LOL
you doing a big rental truck...or a lot of pickups etc.?
big rental with lots of football guys, pickup, SUV, and at least one car
oh boy...good luck with garage and attic!!
i'm off to finish some things and get to bed...see you all tomorrow! *poof*
yeah, he won't admit it, but he is a packrat, and it is truly going to show... :(
nite fran; great to see you
bye fran
I hope the weather stays as nice as it is now.. absolutely gorgeous
78 here today...low 80's tomorrow
golf then?
i did today...maybe tomorrow too
getting windier
definitely not fun to play in the wind
i don't mind some...but over 35mph and i'm out
no kidding... would be nuts... no way to control your game then
some courses you blow into another fairway and just have to play back into your's....ours you end up in waist-deep grasses and you will not find your ball most of the time.
sounds like a Pete Dye course
arthur hills did this one
long or short course?
18 holes...normal par 71
nice makes it more enjoyable; our public course is like that; one of the private courses here is a toughie, and the other private course is gorgeous and not too tough
this is private...but not like other "country clubs"....they do have an initiation and monthly fees but do not have assessments
Ron Garl designed the toughie here - great not to have assessments. I always thought they were idiotic.
Stonehenge Golf and Country Club was designed by renowned golf course architect Ron Garl. The challenging championship course opened in May of 1988. The 6,829 yard, par 71, private championship course puts balance, play, precise shot-making and an aptitude for all facets of the game at a premium. Immaculately manicured bent grass tees, fairways and greens plus the contrast of high grasses, waste bunkers and mounds lend the course a distinctive Scottish flair.
It's a gorgeous course, but it's definitely not "friendly"
sounds challenging...trying to copy and paste something here.....the page i'm going from won't let me lol
hate when they restrick copying and pasting
strange dart, I copy/paste to a wp doc
and make it skinny so it fits down the L side of of the grid
This Scottish links-style course has tall grass rough lining its fairways. There are five lakes coming into play on twelve holes. kind of worked :)
Sounds very similar in many ways. The lakes would be lovely! No wonder you are enjoying playing so much.
i usually find more balls than I lose....not on this course..lose more than I find
LOL
I'd say the lakes affect 8 holes and creeks 7
wow... not a nice course if you don't like water... I always had a psychological issue with water... if it was there, I found it
still fighting a few of the holes...and not the longer ones either
You'll get better! This year with the weather being so nice, you'll have a long season to practice :)
one can only hope!
LOL
Well, I need to vamoose... have some emails to check, and tomorrow is going to be nuts.
Thanks again for help!

I love it! We have rain comming in tonight,I like that too. :)

I'm looking forward to the rain getting rid of all the dirty snow..

... brain cramp ... ... must stop and do something else ...
hi. I have an re9. anyone have a clue for the other 9?
sorry Angel just started.
no idea angel
Good day to all. Angel, this is my first look at the grid.
gm scrab
Enjoying our Scrabble game?
not really.... like them closer!
but, was fun to play ganjah.... a fun word
Good to hear. I was hoping you were not enjoying the pummeling. The rack go4 are not in my favor.
New word for me and, you're right, a better word to play vs Weed.
de9/72
I go through strings like that - seems to hit every game at once
maybe I should change her name to ganjah
Try it.
de 7,8,9,8, from the same base word as laundry soap
half the ice cream flavor?
the de? would be a new ice cream for me...
No- the tu fu*** one.
oh, you mean the tu5, lol, sorry
Not detergent
Yeah, why not fr****?
not fair that the fr part of the name doesn't work, I say
exactamente.
drop the last 2 ltrs, Scrabs, then pl, then one who does it and pl
TY. New words for me.
me too, never heard it before
Ok, I think there is a PB issue here, scrab. Let me consult the rule book.
but there's tu5 fr**** ice cream in the pb, lol!
Yes, I should go to the PB. *sprinting off in search of breakfast*
There it is, article V section III. PB for word that contains a word in the grid. Sentence shall be...
PB coffee and scones.
Does anyone care about the Nicollette Sheridan case? NBC is devoting way too much time to it.
what's going on with her?
what case? never mind, don't really care... guess I agree with you, then. :)
good day all
Off to work.
of course now I had to look it up, seems like it shouldn't rate any air time at all, but naturally Hollywood thinks it's big news, I suppose
must be a slow news day otherwise
i agree - they live in a totally different world than the rest of us!
the second 9 is a tu. Part of a castle roof, past tense
sorry..that's an 8, not the second 9
didn't have that one so thanks!
one of the 9's is an re...to have had sorrow over something in the past. the other 9 is most of a word for a product you use to do laundry, with a slightly different ending, and it ends as a plural
hello again, half this AM but none of the big ones
Is the re9 connected to the re6, 30?
If I was taller, I'd smack Nicolette \Sheridan, but I think she's scary
I would smack Lisa Rinna.
If I were to smack anyone.
who is Lisa Rinna?
A person with large lips.
hahah
Or the re6/36?
don't have those big-point re's
Good morning everyone!
hello car..!
good morning. I think I have a cold.
Oh Kaplan! Here...have some tea....
no colds allowed; it's spring!
hot water, honey and whiskey; it cures 'most everything
thank you kindly.
if you had chosen not to get Ruffino you would have re9/72 that decision
TY river!
and good morning everyone - how is your baby ruby
...and now I know that eg 5/14 is also in the grid!
ty river and hello
Morning River!
Thank you so much, was driving me nuts!
Cat farts- ugh.
my baby is wonderful! he is brilliant, affectionate, athletic, handsome AND housebroken!
Wow.
Oh my...I think you should be glad you have a cold then!
Hoorah! Good boy, Ruffino!!!
wow - that was fast - smart boy
Hoorah! Good boy, Ruffino!!!
It penetrates the cold unfortunately.
Wow.
he is wonderful, could not have wanted a better dog
Ruby, however, doesn't quite agree as he is always (very close) behind her
and is DH enjoying him as much
he is trying, but is so depressed that the joy penetrates less than Kaplan's cat's farts!
he probably sees her as him mama
hre loves her, but she is still missing Max
I can imagine - we are getting very close to putting Kerri down - Tori will be lost without her I am sure
morning all, got the re9. is there a de9. I saw Angels clue but only got a de8 fromit
it is much better when you can let the animal sniff the dead body of his companion. Without that, Ruby is just puzzled
she can hardly walk - is so skinny now - having accidents - just no control - at this point I have to ask myself if we are keeping her this way for us or for her
ruby, so glad you are enjoying your new boy
Oh river! I am so sorry to hear that. {{hugs}}
he is amazing and I am smiling again
My poor old cat- I wonder if we should have put him down earlier.
My last cat. He was losing control but didn't complain much. Did he suffer?
my husband would have brought her a couple weeks ago but I made him wait until Sarah got home from school to say goodbye. she is home this week.
that is a very hard decision to make, river,; once the dog becomes embarrassed, I think it's time. But it's terribly sad.
she is almost 14 and that is old for a lab
I truly think our pets tell us when they have had enogh. That has been the case with the ones I have had to put down.
we were lucky that when Rufus, at 10, reached that time, I was able to have a vet come to the house
14 is very old for a lab; Rufus was our oldest chow and he only made it to almost 10
its been 12 years since we put down Mandy - it was a peaceful way to go but still very sad
I think we have more compassion for our pets than we do for the human race
we love our dogs and are heartbroken when they die, but who could live without them?
and I think we give them wonderful lives
yes we do
Hey Peri! Good morning! In response to your earlier question, I don't have the DE 9 yet.
ok
I dont either
de9/72 is another form of having to do with laundry soap
I finally monkeyed it, Angels clue was a good one
plural of de8/55, if that helps

hi bichon
hello bichon
{{bichon}}
Hi Bichon!
Did you know that today is Pi day 3.14
Peri...could you please repeat Angel's clue for the de 9:
most of the word that you use to do laundry with a slightly different ending and pl, for car
ruby's clue worked for me car
so it is bichon
?? bichon??
It's one who puts soap in the laundry, I think
yes ruby
Pi day??
Ty everyone! Got 'em!
Going to get more coffee....
Pi, 3.14, math term
It's the theme of today's New York Time crossword puzzle
I would like it better if it were Pie Day :)
Me too Peri!
I think that puzzle is waiting for me on the couch -- yay
hmm pie day.....
when i was teaching we celebrated Pi Day every year and enjoyed eating "pies"

thanx sugra
You're welcome, Annie.
er . . um . . what is PB and er . . um . . did do something wrong? LOL
Not really!!! You used a word from the grid when cluing the re 9. That's all!
PB = penalty box
penalty box.... don't worry there is chocolate and coffee there :)
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH == oops
The PB stands for the Penalty Box, a place where babblers languish when they put a word in the grid into the chat.
and everyone is in the PB at one time or another
we all do it sometimes :)
Now you are an official Babbler!
LOL - rather have chocolate and wine in the PB
lol
heck i have typed the words in the wrong box
no longer a babbler virgin? OH NOOOOOOO
ok, it can be whatever you want, but it's only 8 am here :)
And now...with much re 6/24...I must get some work done! I would MUCH rather stay here with you all!

Hi Molly
For all the gear heads in the crowd, there is an engine term in the grid that is not accepted. : )
not true Molly, Calamity isn't awake yet...
Ah yes, let her sleep, she needs her rest : )
morning all!
re9 is typed entirely with the left hand. i like words like that!
ty for the clues....still hard without Lickety
I agree, I miss Lickety
what happened to lickety
any ideas as to when a list might make its reappearance
No clue Bich. All Mr. President said was "no list for a few weeks, I will be away from my computer"
Alas, finished yesterday. First in a long time
ahh. getting down to business + getting ready to put together my 2-month (ish) meal plan.
2 months? Wow, I'm doing well if I can plan for lunch!
meal plans, I just look in the freezer and get a bright idea
sue: its an endeavor, but once i have it done, it makes my life SO MUCH EASIER! i only plan dinners (breakfasts are a free-for-all, and lunches often consist of leftovers). i leave weekends free, and i also create an every-other-week grocery list to go along with the plan. takes all the guesswork out of it!
Ah, the organized life!
not much of my life is organized...heh
i actually HATE figuring out dinners and dread going grocery shopping, so this just makes life better for me
I hope it works out for you, eva, sounds like a great plan!!
(I am spoiled as Frank cooks all our dinners)
i did it once back in the fall/winter. it worked out great! i meant to have done it like 2 months ago, but things were just so hectic. i have some dead time at work right now, so im making the most of it!
we have pizza [home made] on Sunday and it serves for at least one other meal
hubby cooks sometimes, but i need more control over my food because of WW. he will just throw things in there. while it tastes good, it makes it tough to figure out points!
I make good use of my freezer. Like making a batch of meatballs and freezing in portion size containers and doing the same with roast chicken and roast pork.
Yes, that would be tough. At the moment I am not tracking my foods.
in this new house, we now have an extra fridge/freezer in the garage, so i plan to make lots of use of that!
I also freeze red sauce and chicken broth.
Eva, keep track of the value of the food you put in your extra freezer. You might want to invest in a small generator to keep from losing it in a power failure.
whats nice about the meal plan is that i know which nights i need a quicker meal (mondays + wednesday are my running classes), which nights im on my own and can have whatever i want (he has soccer on tuesdays) and i can also make sure there is some variety in what we eat...that way we dont have chicken every day and i can mix up lighter dishes with things that are more indulgent.
thats a good idea, molly. will look into that.
also, if i know a dish makes a large portion, i can schedule a night for leftovers. and since i dont plan on weekends, it gives us some flexibility to either go out or finish up any extras lying around.
Morning folks
hello mr gb

hi mr bob!

Ugh. Have hit the wall at 67.
Is there a list anywhere?
hi again all!
there's a list in VolleyMomDee's bio
Thanks Flosey - will check to see if she is online
you'll find her in "Who's Online"
you can always find people in "Rankings" even if they aren't online, too.
Jindigo, I have put Dee's list in my bio
not online but will check the rankings - thanks Hurshy
have Jacs list in mine
and if you add her in "My Friends" you will always be able to get her lists
morning? all
morning hoot
hi flosey - long time. How are you?
great thanks hoot, and you
Better! Had a pinched nerve in hip but getting better.
oh, that can be very painful, glad it's getting better
Me too!
I bet
sorry about your hip, hoot! Pinched nerves can be awful.
The best was when I'd make a fast move and it would bite, but def getting better! Can even lay on my side again!
now it kinda thrbs to remind me
throbs
a constant reminder, does a pinched nerve go away on it's own?
Seems to be. I can't afford an eye doctor and a another doctor at the same time!
ah, hope so then
me too!
these de's are weird!
i feel your pain hoot - coughed so hard this morning i hurt my back, can hardly walk without it spasming
Oh I've done that with a sneeze! Can you stay home and just sit or lie down?
yeah i'm home. i had gone out to get cold medicine and thought i would go to work after it kicked in, but then the back thing "wrenched" my plans
Well the home part is good. If the mattress is firm enough it should do the trick.
lots of weird words today hoot
yes! Is that ad one of them?
or am I just blind!
a + not up
have never heard anyone use that one
I thank you ! I can now stop pulling out my hair!
don't do that, easier to ask
The definition isn't much help either
am up to the re words and not enjoying them
I know but I try to do as much as possible on my own and I hate when I hit a wall of ......
me too
I'll help if I can - don't have all of them though
ok thanks, going to get another cuppa
actually, think I'll walk out to get the paper, I get stiff if I sit too long - it's about 1/8 mile to the end of the lane and back
ok - enjoy the walk.
Whatever happened to Lickety?
Regality: Nobody seems to know, and those who do are not talking.
*sigh* Too bad.
Yes it is. Sad, too.
Well, whatever happened, I wish him good luck.
if you need a list look in my profile
You can sign all of us to that, Regality

hi moll
I wonder how it is that brrr is a word but grrr is not?
good morning, all
good morning nan
You wouldn't want logic, Nan, now would you?
becauseits enable! hi nan
I tried it too
... wild guess .... "brrr" might be the noise humans make when cold or to describe being cold ... "grrr" is an animal sound ... ... but then it's the sound of humans imitating an animal sound so there goes my theory
logical dos
glad you had a nice walk, flosey!
... yes ... logical ... but is it correct? ... don't know!
and hi again to all, grading exams here...
hi sue
thanks sue, peaceful, the neighbourhood is still quiet
I can't believe there has been another earthquake in Japan. Those people must feel cursed.
ah, nice. It is supposed to be downright HOT here today (near 80F)!
wow, that's pretty warm
especially for northern Illinois in mid-March - we may very well set a record
70 here and no complaints from me : )
There has been no winter!
I can't help thinking all hell will bust loose doon!
yeah, I don't mind being 30 degrees above normal in March, but I wouldn't like it much in August

... yeah ... did a sophmore year analytic geometry test last week ... it started with 10 multiple choice questions ... 3 of them had answers which were correct though they weren't as correct as the one the regular teacher wanted them to pick .. ... the kids were all picking the wrong one ... ... I left them for the regular teacher to mark
doge

A shade of green that starts with re???
((ruby))
this grid has odd Fr words in it
{{crossy}}
and I thought I knew all my colors, even had the 48 crayon box!
... to put the little things that plants grow from into the ground again ... but those one of the double vowel ... and add another vowel at the end
ruby...you should have gotten the 128 box
... that was lose one of the vowels
too poor :(
re + ****te the patient before surgery. Never heard it as a shade of green
I could only afford the 8 box
Box of 64 with the sharpener on the back was great!
... just checked ... dictionary says it is a greyish green but I'm sure you'll need the box of 128 or even an imaginary 256 to find it
****te = knock out
resede..
opps
a grayish green, huh? only heard of it as a proper noun CA city
oh crossy!
not it anyways
Almost Cross, different last vowel
... that's still probably the best way to clue it
Crayola does not make a re6 green crayon.
I kept trying the crossy one
got it...stoopid word, never saw that in my box of crayolas
new color for me
How can it be the best way to clue it if no one has heard of it?
ruby...it would go good with your eyes...lol
... simply spell it ... then everyone has heard it
I looked it up; it's a flowering plant --where, on the moon?
Oops, I thought you meant the definition
you could of said the re word sounds line a vanishing hairline
Probably in Enable Gardens Ruby

why even ask lol
this is comfort food pure and simple

has anyone ever noticed that when crossy arrives on scene, the chat turns to food?
food! where?!
if no clues are wanted I will be on my way -- have gained too many pounds as it is!
food is the staff of life:)
and sometimes the means to the end of it!
lol,the next cancer will take me out long before food ever will
Food, the means to the end of life? What a depressing thought. : (
for me, if I like something I keep on eating it -- and there are too many things that I like!
my colesterol is perfect,i exercise every day and i am 40 pounds over weight,i no longer smoke(ten years clean)
over and out...poof :)
so,bring on good food, good people and good times
I'd rather eat small quantities of good food than exist on yogurt, granola and celery sticks.
that is not a life, all pale and wan, eating tofu, and bean sprouts and counting every ounce of food
if there is a health risk then yes,but otherwise,no
I would starve to death if tofu was the only available food to eat.
remember when MCd,s tried the Mcveggie burger?
do not get me wrong,i love celery and ranch dip, bruchetta topped with fresh dice plum tomatos, baby carrots and the like and nice simple salads
I don't get veggie burgers. If you don't eat, why eat imitation meat?
sweet pea pods from the garden
*Don't eat meat
same premise for tofu bacon then
Tofu....bacon? That's not even funny.
i saw some
tofu is the borg of the food world,it is nothing till it assimilates something else
It wiggles. More fun to watch than eat.
It's like okra. The only good use for okra is sticking the pod tops to your forehead. : P
Okra. Vile weed.
we see it here in exotic foodie places, but not something we run across normally
has anyone got a list
aaron, I always check volleymomdee's profile first. she usually has one.
altho it's not separated (into the first 2 letter groups)
if u copy it to notepad you can separate them
that's what I usually do when I get to the listing point.
makes it easier to see i just appreciate that people put a list up or i would be lost lol
you and me, both, lol!
How many words today?

what does nbt stand for?
no blank tiles. though I just got no blank stats as well! woohoo
74 to go....bbl hopefully!
Majmom, having no blank tiles (no word tiles with a zero) and no blank stats (no word stat tiles with a zero) was set up by someone (God knows who) as some sort of milestone. I can't say that I understand it, but a lot of people go for it, rather rabidly.
tx i guess i knew that but forgot
doet
i have nbt and nbs, but i just realized what nbs was ;) thanks for explaining Harry and Molly
if you have nbt and nbs doesnt that mean the game is finished?
hi all, help with the a pls

Where is Soodle when you need her? My phantom is dowager : )
Hi all
Hi Cos and all.
And, not quite on cue, enter Soodle!
Hi Everybody :-)
Phantom energy.
I suffer from that as well, Kap :-P
I am coming down with something and I feel all spacey and dissociated.
I hate that feeling.
Some people pay pushers for that exact feeling!!
Anyway, I consider phantom: dowager a very good sign from the Universe. Also Moll was in the grid a few days ago. : )
TIS AN OMEN!!!
I know. It started the other day when I was worrying about whether I was dreaming. It extended to today when at the gym I felt like I was not in my body.
It would be of greater concern if I were not developing a sore throat.
When I left my class at the gym people followed me out to see if I was OK and someone got me a chocolate Luna bar.
I love my gym.
Nice, Kap!
I just couldn't lift those damn weights.
They were heavier than usual.
Molly, I backed a horse yesterday at Cheltenham, called Tullamore Dew. It lost.
gu 7/48 please? (hi everyone. sorry was lurking)

That was not our ship Soodle. But nice try. Our ship is still on the horizon. I see it every day.

hi again all!
Molly, now you have sent me scuttling off to the newspaper to see if there are any horses running tomorrow with any maritime names....

Hi Sue & Bich :-)
hi soodle, mollly, kap, bichon, cos!
got six separate letters from lawyers today, all having to do with my bankruptcy. FML.
Good or bad letters sue?
annoying, mostly. Banks telling me my mortgages are in arrears, and apparently a quitclaim deed was messed up during my divorce (probably not a show-stopper, but annoying).
Soodle...practice...practice...women of unlimited wealth do not scuttle
Sue, wasn't that all taken care of in the hearing?
But bankruptcy is the beginning of a new start, right?
I would have thought so, molly, but apparently since the bankruptcy is not final yet? or something? they can still request (although not demand) that I pay them.
and it is indeed, bichon, one which I am eagerly anticipating!
<---Not a big believer in using the term FML. It puts a negative spin on things.
re 6.21 think its rite near the re to re mail something
re + ****te a patient (knock them out) before surgery
I agree, molly, I am letting my grumpiness come out. I will be happy when this is all over.
Sue, well of course they are going to "request". Some financial institutions actually think that people who have filed can wave a magic wand and grow the money th4 owe. Seriously, why would th4 have filed in the first place?
is it with the curved letter as the third letter molly plz
it will all be over. What's doing with Leo, sue?
Yes Ivesy. ****te the patient, knock them out, give them tranquilzers.
ty molly got it!
the first re6/33 please?
Leo is madly in love, unfortunately with the same girl. Doesn't understand why I won't let her anywhere near the house. Sigh.
Topic better not continued with
was that an re6/33 clue, bichon, or advice? (either one is fine, just curious :-)
not seeing it
i dont think its mathematically possible.. looking at the list and what i have..
Soodle, I just put the Italian herbs on the pizza I'm making and thought of your happily remembered pizzas from years ago. : )
shelter from the storm cos
isnt that the re6/36? i need the re6/33
hello everyone
Sue, you know, there is a reason someone came up with the term "madly in love".
yeah it is, sorry
Soodle I haven't been on with you ..I am so sorry you lost your uncle.
found it!!
re6/33 color + Jinx, I **e you a coke + first vowel
color + not up, minus last letter
you are so right, molly! (about the madly in love) - also about the re6/33, which I found!
try as I might I can only get 5 letters
Sue, I believe that some folks are as addicted to people as others are addicted to drugs. And there is no telling what is going to finally, break that addiction.
5 letters for what West?
re 6/33 clue
color + not up, minus last letter
+ first vowel
The last letter is first vowel, ala my clue at 4:58
and don't repeat the consonant :-)
okay
re + you **e money to your creditors + first vowel
R's done.
Sorry color + you **e money to your creditors + first vowel

take the gu7/40 (which is the plural of the gu6/27), remove the last letter, and replace it with the sometimes vowel, peri
lickety is out of commission for a while, mike
is there another list like that...is he/she ok?
Sorry for the abrupt exit - phone! thanks West. :-). And Molly, I will try to amend my scuttling ways, and walk with decorum and a haughty air!!
Ah, decorum and a haughty air. That is the way to walk into our future.
not like that, mike, although people do put (non-interactive) lists in their profiles - volleymomdee has one.
You're welcome Sood. I watched the video and it really touched me.
thanks

They played a tape of him singing at the funeral, West. There wasn't a dry eye in the house.
What a beautiful man.

LOL, West. Me & Moll's ship is coming in, and no doubt it is laden down with fine, fit, sailor-boys!!!
our little state of Rhode Island has had 2 Power Ball winners in the past month..one for $336 million..the other for a measly $60 million
I might have to buy a ticket
There is a place for concentrated thought (meditation). For some, it is chanting OHM, for others it is spending a part of the day concentrating on what one wants to manifest in their life.
Thoughts become things. If you think it, it will come. And hey, that applies to the bad as well as the good, so be careful what you think about.
lol soodles, never mind meditation, you want something to relaz, calm your soul, reset you zen/wa/chi whatever? do what i did for the mrs.got her a nice bonsai tree with the proper old tyme shears
hi crossy..I've always wanted a bonsai
this one is great! but take your time choosing the right one
good advice molly
the mrs is slowly shaping it into one of those african savanna canopy trees
Hi Cross. And actually, Babble relaxes me...(most of the time!)
It seems like common sense to me West. And many times, when I bring that up, people say "I can't help what I think about", to which I reply "Oh yes you can."
granddaughter will be here in a few minutes..she's driving down from Cambridge to ahave dinner and get her birthday check early so I'm gone. *poof*
(((((Hugs)))) West.
bye west! enjoy!
and they thrive in those small shallow dishes they come in,so you almost never have to repot
hi crossy!
suze:))
I don't have much luck with indoor plants, but at the moment, my cherry blossom tree is on the point of bursting out and the daffodils are literally bouncing around the garden. This surely is the most wonderful time of year.
daffodils are almost out here - another few days of summer weather and they will be in full bloom!
we had not much of a winter and have been into full spring mode for over a week now
it is 77F here right now (25C), very unlike March!
My absolute most favorite flower of all is the daffodil. A true sign of spring and re-awakening! (Who needs to navel-gaze, when you can look at a daffodil?)
though i will warn you all now, this played havoc with our maple syrup harvest..down 70%..stuff will be liquid gold when it is bottled
I have a nice little faux shamrock and some forget me nots doing very well inside. Outside, everything is in full bloom, beautiful.
<--Thanks God we are not a "syrup dependent" household.
lol
it is the peanut harvest shortage that is messing with this household.i refuse to pay 8 dollars for a jar of peanut butter
Yes the full bloom in early March is a little weird.
conveniently, i use a litre of maple syrup in about 3 years, so no worries about price.
<---- wondering what in heaven's name faux shamrock is....
we mostly use it as a cooking additive and not for pancakes,so we are also good to go.1 quart in a year is fine for us
huh. monkeyed a weird-to-me se5 cross the Mercy.
ty dc
my old audiophile days come back and help sometimes:)
LOL my penchant for malapropisms can be helpful for some :)
I don't know, maybe it's real: http://tinyurl.com/84fu7uk
my mrs hates..no,LOATHES the radio, she was forced during all her childhood to listen to cfrb 1010 talk radio out of toronto for hours every day.it was all her parents would listen to
then at 12,she got her first transistor radio,so it was better after that
Geeze, we are getting ancient here referencing Gerry and The Pacemakers
lol
My friend Noel -- can't spell his gaelic name, who is from Dublin, has pots of shamrocks all around his house and his office.
very nice
And it's Mersey, as in The River Mersey
i am all for nice indoor greenage
was close enough for me to get it molly.i did not need pinpoint accuracy
I just figured I would stand in the for the UK folks. Pinpoint accuracy not needed.
that is well then:))
<---------- is jealous of crossy's maple syrup ;)
all part of curing our wonderful bacon, hickory smoke and just a drop of maple essance...mmmm
sounds so delicious crossy
or apple wood smoke
oh, thank you Molly, i did not know that Mersey like Jersey. :)
Seain, it's probably one of those songs that has a dozen entries on "Kiss This Guy" the mis-heard song lyrics site. : )
lol, years ago sent my mrs and my son down to fla when her parents were still doing the snowbird thing, and the two things that bugged her were non stop sirens and the lousy bacon:)
do you do your own bacon, or is it just being in canada makes it better bacon?
just the way it is prepped up here.i have a farmers market down the road they do up thier own bacon for sale
Where in Dublin is Noel from, Seain? (I was born in Clontarf, so you can impress him with your knowledge of the leafy suburbs of Dublin!)
Oh, there is great bacon here in the US, no question.
now,for good beer,we need to go visit soodles...
ahh, good info crossy
maybe it's not only the curing, but the quality of the pigs...?
who knows
:)
not sure in that regards firefly
How right you are, Cross. Having said that, the bacon round here ain't too bad either!
mmm, beer thick enough to stand a spoon up in...
We actually have farmer's markets too. Got them right after indoor plumbing. : P
i do know that "fresh" meats, homegrown meats, are SO much tastier than the stuff in stores
they are, grain fed instead of fed garbage
we get homegrown beef, and are going to raise our own calf soon
no growth hormones
indeed crossy
needs a shower *bzzz*
one of our big dept store ceo,s tried to attack farmers markets as a whole and got his head blasted off almost! lol
My ex turned up one day years ago, with a small shoe box. In that small shoe box was a small Vietnamese Pot-Bellied pig. The kids named him Porky Spice (it was around the time of the Spice Girl era). And he grew and he grew and he grew.
now the mennonites and the amish at the markets..they know good food
Then he fed an he fed an he fed
lol,pigs will do that
Hopefully you had him with apple sauce
mmm, fresh butterfly pork chops and apple sauce...
Slow roast pork belly.....
There is a store very close to me that is totally run by the Amish. Only open Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Best meat, baked goods and vegetables around.
honey-garlic pork sausages
He was about 200lb when he died a natural death, and we buried him with assorted hamsters and budgies and goldfish. (Pot-bellied pigs can't be eaten, apparently..)
i agree with you there molly, they know food
Oh and their eggs are top notch too.
Hells bells that must have been a hell of a hole
the jams,jellies,home made pies...mmmm
The Amish were the original organic farmers. All the ones who sprung up after are just wannabe's.
<----------Fascinated by the Amish community. Based only on the movie 'Witness'.
Oh pish, you were fascinated by Harrison Ford.
we have lots of mennonites south of us in kitchener/waterloo area
Yeah, him too, Molls :-P
i was once priviliged to watch then gather round.the father parcelled off a chunk of land for his son and new daughter in law.they all gatheredall the ladies set up for food and funand they all got to work and built a house and barn..in 3 days
However, given his fondness for stick insects (Ally McBeal woman) I don't hold out too much hope for a Harrison Ford & Soodle get-together!
*Makes the sign of the cross at the mention of Kitchener* Husband's evil, spiteful, nasty ex-wife lives there.
lol
Calista Flockhart. A stick woman who is totally in love with herself. She actually had "you are so hot" written into the "Brothers & Sisters" script directed at her character.
At least four times.
crossy does not like stick women,my mrs is not a stick woman.they are nasty things.hugging them is like falling on a bycicle, you get all bruised from the sharp angles...
Calista Flockhart! I couldn't remember her name. Far better for a man to say to a woman 'There ya are' than 'Where are ya?'
crossy like women with curves, not looking like a coat rack
Iam trying to be more like said curvy woman rather than lumpy mattress : )
LOL Spanner! You are built for comfort rather than speed!
No I am built for a bit part in a Harrison Ford movie - Jabba the Hutt
Spanner... the unofficial Babble Mantra is Thoughts Become Things.....Assume the lotus position, and chant.. thoughts become things, thoughts become things....

Assume the lotus position = thats a laugh!!!
if i triewd that i would need a crowbar and three doctors to fix me
Metaphorically speaking.........
Lotus position not required. Just think what you want, over and over. It's a far cry better than thinking about what you don't want, which many people do, all the time.
Thank goodness for small mercies

And what will they say when the emergency techs get there? It's ALL SOODLE'S FAULT
Is this community mostly "middle aged ladies?" That makes us sound so uncool.
