Won't bother doing that then, if it's not needed.
thanks anyway Neil
I always used to, but seems to be no point anymore.
always appreciated your efforts
Well clearly they're not needed.
Which is fine... just wish I'd known this before I sat here for the last little while fixing it all up ready for posting.

Hey Fran... sent you another message. [On GoodReads, that is.]
Uh oh... a peeking ruru. :P
one more to get to 50
sent a reply, neil.
Just remembered Babble! It's much too big for me this time anyway -- busy day tomorrow. And flosey -- sorry, but your pretty flower is much too big too -- jerky chog!
Ok Fran, thanks... I'll check.
Hi jilli. :)
hi, jilli!
I have a list on Babble Anon. Link to it on profile.
Hi neil -- your list is appreciated anyway.
jerks in the chog.. you mean me? jilli?
never, ruru
:D
yes, jilli is much too polite to point it out, ruru. ;-)
that's odd jilli, it's small in my bio
it's huge when I click on it flosey...but I don't notice any jerkiness.
I had purposely made it small
very odd, flosey -- it's huge when I click on your icon
well, isn't that really strange, it's too big which I click on it
am sure I've used it before - maybe clicked on the wrong one
the jerkiness must be in that Expert thing you use, Jilli. I'm on the main site and the chog isn't jerky at all.
funny, fran -- when I came in I scrolled a bit and it was jerky so I suspected a big photo somewhere, and found it
flosey's icon is huge when i click on the profile, too
just changed it
hi, flo, jilli, fran, et al
hi dc!
it's fine now, flosey!
Ok Fran... replied to your last message on GR.
Hi Seain.
hi dc
Thanks, flosey -- and it's lovely
Hi dc
evening, neil
thanks jilli for letting me know, and this is Mom's rose
The chog is jerky and seems to be lagging to me, actually... you say a photo somewhere is causing this, jilli? Something o someone's profile?
The chog is jerky and seems to be lagging to me, actually... you say a photo somewhere is causing this, jilli? Something on someone's profile?
network problem came up on my computer again, so made appointment at Apple store. They recognized me and gave me a brand new 13 inch MacBook Pro instead of trying again to fix my old MacBook.
beautiful roses, flosey. they look like the should smell lovely
it was the time of day that was causing it this time neil - always happens 12: pm pacific time
yes dc, they do
We just had the nightly hiccup, neil
my great-aunt Ruth Ann has a vining white rose of similar shape -- cuttings from her mother/my great-grandmother's vine. I plan to get a cutting to root for myself next i visit her. The smell SO nice.
oh cool, dc...new computer!
what a lovely idea dc
yes, crisper display, HD camera, and backlit keyboard are the big differences i've noticed thus far.
Hey, I didn't have to reload the page. Must have been because I was off the page for a bit.
and someday, i know my nephew will want to start his own vine, too, flosey :) Great-grandma's vine was grown from her mother's vine.
so they replaced your MacBook with a MacBook Pro? What a sweet deal!
wow dc, that is a real treasure
well, same memory, slightly larger hard drive, slightly faster processor.
flosey, yes, very antique, and such lovely scent.
a family rose vine, that's even cooler than the computer. :-)
two sweet deals, then, dc!
heh. At my mom's is her father's mother's mother's doll, which she carried with her from Wales, in the original 19th century gingham dress. Mom also has a wall clock that was a wedding gift to her mother's mother's parents when they married in 1897 in Bratislava.
such treasures dc
we're good at keeping things on both sides of the family.
well, the J was easy today.
nice thaqt those things have been treasured for so long, dc.
my parents, maternal grandparents and great-grandma used to tell me about my 1st Xmas -- we stayed with great-grandma and my playpen was in the room with the clock. Apparently i giggled every time the clock chimed all night. :)
how cute!
awww!
oh, on Saturday i met up with some friends and walked through the largest stand of bluebells in the Eastern US -- in Bull Run Regional Park in Centreville, Virginia. It was magical.
Yeah. I figured that was happening when I tried to enter my post a second time and it still didn't work... so I left for a little to make some tea anyway.
Cute story, Seain. :)
It's funny what babies will giggle at.
tea.... a hot toddy would be nice. maybe with breakfast.
it is indeed, neil :)
I had my own personal blip just now. lol
had to reload the page.
Oh yeah?
i hate when that happens, fran.
Nice of the Apple store to give you a brand new Macbook, Seain... wow.
last st 7 anyone?
well, considering how much time they'd spent on repairas, the time i'd been without computer, and the fact that half the store knows me on site and by name, it makes sense that they did LOL
don't have it ru
i have one st7, past of an st4, and it's at the end of the STs that i have
an st4-5-7
thanks, dc, i needed that one
morning all - can anyone clue me an o in the bottom row for nbt please
Just replied to you again Fran.
i even ran into a friend at the Apple store and had some time to catch up, which was a nice bonus.
hi kazzer!
never mind.
I found it
is there one after the one i clued, ru?
Aroma, Kazzer... fragrance, smell.
Oh that was a nice bonus, Seain.
I have that one - comes out the o above
yes
bottom O: or5.12, a plural
thanks dc - nbt
Oh, ok. Then you need the od5,23/od6,21 combo?
Oh sorry... what Seain said.
nbt here too (hi Kazz) and bedtime...goodnight all...*poof
g'night jilli
nite jilli
We were out all day today and I'm pooped. I'll see you all later! Will get neil's list out tomorrow.
night, jilli!
Oh ru? Check my updates for March 31. Ouch! That iPod Touch was a recently acquired gift, too. Expensive mistake... one I don't care to repeat!
Glad someone's using it Fran. ;) Take care.
done.. thanks to you neil
g'night fran
congrats, ruru
Glad to be good for something, ru. lol
And congrats!
woo hoo, ruru! *poof*
But it's thanks to your own brain and vocabulary too, of course.
it's amazing how they appear once you have the first two letters
Yep.
glad I wrapped this one up.. maybe dart will have a power outage for a couple of days
Haha! You're ever hopeful huh?
or at least one :D
Did you see what I said further down the chog?
I lost out on a day in LA.. too busy
Too funny.
You and dart make me laugh.
I was thinking about getting an ipad
Oh yeah? I love it, but it's much better unbroken.
maybe after taxes
You can do a lot of things on them... read books, play games, etc. but there's something I learned just isn't a good idea to do on those. :P haha.
ipad is your friend
I think it's my enemy now.
Probably hates me, lol.
what shouldn't you do on an ipad
chop vegetables
LOL
Ummm, well... a favorite activity of yours too I'm guessing? lol
Chop vegetables... well yeah. That too!
oh my goodness
would have loved to see that email

I had been sitting up in bed reading on it that morning, while waiting for Elisse to finish in the bathroom... I kind of just put it down when I got up and it was under the covers... totally forgot about it for hours. Was busy all day. Then when we went to bed that night, rolled over a little and "CRACK!" Ugh. :( Not the kind of sound you expect or want to hear.
Shattered the screen... repair kit: $90. But new iPod Touch? $300.
oh, that sucks. Hope you have Apple Care
Oh. I thought you meant something else..lol
Huh, ruru?
Something else... like what?
ties
one of my favorite activities
:D
I think everyone has that one DC
That is what I meant.
I just didn't want to type it that explicitly. :P
And yeah... so no PB for Seain. This time.
whoppee
talk about an I touch...lol
Haha. uhhh, yeah.
Ru: http://tinyurl.com/NJL-ELM
bet it threw you when you heard the crack
Oh man. You're not kidding.
she looks really nice.. very pretty
nice smile
Because right away, I knew what it was too... talk about killing the mood.
Sure sure is. :) Thanks.
she's very smart too I bet
http://tinyurl.com/NJL-ELM-01
Yep. Teacher.
maybe you were thinking Iprod?
And even as silly as me too: http://tinyurl.com/NJL-ELM-02
Haha! Geez, you're bad. :P
ha.. you have no idea
Keep changing the number on the end of that URL I gave you. Goes up to 7, lol.
Or "07" I should say.
crossy hates insomnia:(
Just the last digit though.
Well I think I have some idea by now, ru. :P
Crossy!
i'm off for bed.. i'll check them out before i do.. night neil.. thank you for your help
Aww. Yeah... sorry about that but it's nice to see you of course.
You're welcome ru. Take care.
howdy neil
night crossie
gn ru
hi crossy
howdy kaz
wow, just noticed there is an 11
not sleeping is not good for you. I have been up for a few nights now - not real insomnia but i used to have it when i ws in my late teens early 20s - used to sleep about 3 or 4 hours most night but only about 3 from Friday morning to monday evening
its was like I couldn't switch my brain off - then i had my son and it all changed
with my insomnia, asthma kicking up dickens cause it is spring and my sleep apnea,i get long streches of 2-4 hours a night
do you have a breathing mask for the sleep apnea
i do and it is a true p.i.t.a
You're not on MSN, crossy?
i have never spent 1400 dollars on anything i loathe more in my life
Yeah. I get it's hard to sleep with a mask like that on your face?
no neil,i am not atm
tell me about it - I had to give mine up because i sleep on my front
it is an adjustment indeed neil
Ugh. Yeah, that would make it pretty much impossible to use, Kazzer. But just feeling something on my face like that would probably keep me awake, never mind any noise the machine makes.
here with the National Health Service - they give you on e but it sounded like running water all night so you can imagine the rst
imagine a shop vac blowing in reverse down your throat and sinuses all night neil and you are close
Ugh, Kazzer. Yeah... figured there'd be noise.
Oh wow. :(
you wake up dryer than a popcorn fart, even with the built in humidifier
Who could ever sleep like that?!
I bet... if you even sleep at all?
and no matter how good the mask fit,you get small leaks blowing air into your eyes and on your cheeks
I never knew popcorn farted though.
Makes me rethink eating any in future. :P
mine is not nearly as bad - we invested in some very good pillows and I lost some weight - so it only kicks in once or twice a night at most
Oh man. I could never sleep like that.
just never get over 200 pounds neil and you will be fine
I'm scrawny, crossy. So that's kinda doubtful. But who knows, in decades to come?
weight is not always a factor in apnea, but in most cases yes it is
sometimes its caused a a flabby soft palate which can be fixed - but mine was done to weight and I am now struggling to lose any more at all - just got to keep going
I wonder how weight could cause it?
Oh if you need a list btw, I posted one on BabbleAnon. The link to that is on profile.
here neil, give this a quick read...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_apn ea
however, I now have 100 left so I must go and sort out my very poorly husband and get some more washing on the go - was supposed to go back to work today but i can't leave him as he has a raging temperature
poor hubby
Thanks crossy... will do that now.
Oh no, Kazzer... hope your hubby is on the mend very soon.
off to bed, goodnight folks, 86 for tomorrow, if there's time
gn flosey
Oh I see, crossy.
Good night flosey. Take care.
Didn't know smokers were more commonly affected by this, crossy. Another good reason to quit.
yes indeed neil.i am lucky in that respect.i did smoke for 25 years but have been off them for ten years now
How did you manage to quit?
but my asthma is my legacy on that old habit
Ugh. I have that too... was born with it.
i asked the dr for a zyban rx
Clues are up
And yes... even so I started smoking in my teens.
aka welbutrin(sp)
((MRP))
Oh, ok. And that worked well?
Hi mrp! :)
I did post a list on Babble Anon.
it did,you can smoke for the first 30 days while on it
Oh yeah, crossy... I've heard good things about that drug. It's supposed to have less side effects than Chantix.
mrp? Are you still here?
when the mrs and i quit neil, smokes were $7.50 a pack and we pretty much smoked a pack each a day.when we quit,i had a tin on the book shelf and each day the mrs and i took the $7.50 we would of spent on smokes and put it in that tin..i left it for exactly 2 years and sat down in may of 2004 and added it up...
Wow, yeah. That would really add up.
it came to $12,160.00 and i walked down to the toyota dealership and bought us a new car a nice new toyota echo as there was only 100 dollars difference tween the car price and the wad of cigarette money we saved..i am still driving that car today
Holy crap! Wow. Just... wowww.
They're nice little cars.
they are awsome cars
in 8 years,i have done the front brakes once and changed a tail light bulb
Yeah. Better than the old pickup truck I have.
Wow.
And they're really good on gas too.
Hi, after 3 months of not smoking my hub and I went on a holiday to Barcelona for a week with the money we'd saved...and that included spendies!!!!
when you are ready to quit, you give yourself a prize to shoot for, something to save that smoke money for
howdy liz
Wow, lizmac. Ok, I"m getting more and more anxious to quit smoking.
indeed,a nie trip also works
After only three months of not smoking, Liz?
think of what you would buy neil with an extra 6 grand a year
Had to put my tuppence worth in there...back to grid.
or more, our cheap cigs are 9 dollars now
more like 7 grand a year
Yeah, crossy.
Thankfully I'm the only one of us that smokes.
I hate to think of the cost if we both did.
Double that.
you realize in 7 years of not smoking, you could trott down to the dealership and get yerself a nice bmw
Yes, Neil. 3 packs/day between us, £5.50 a pack at the time. That's a lot of money to set fire to.
Uhhh yeah, Liz. And that's literally what you're doing when you smoke too. :/
sorry,should not preach lol
hazard of dealing with an ex smoker neil
No, it's all good crossy.
I hope to be one of those soon myself.
Tell me this though... do you ever totally lose the craving? I mean if you're around it now, do you still feel any urge to light one up, or not at all now?
neil,i would like to say yes,but every once in a while(about once a month,i get a craving
Oh wow. Even after that long?
I just wondered about that.
I certainly have moments of really fancying a cig, but it passes quite quickly. That's 2 years in.
Thanks Liz... good to know.
That's not too bad at all for only 2 years smoke free.
it is like being an alcoholic,or a drug addict, you will always be an addict..you just choose not to do it..today..and you just do it day by day
but like liz says, the cravings pass fast
Yeah. I've been wondering about that.
once you are over the 6 month hump, thats when in my opinion, you are home free
I see.
Gotta go, good luck Neil. A worthwhile project, for sure.
Thanks Liz... take care.
and when you quit, all ashtrays must go and NOBODY in your house can smoke
Of course, crossy. But I don't smoke in the apartment anyway... I step out on the balcony.
and avoid all social situations where smoking happens for the first little bit
Nobody smokes in our home now.
It's too gross... gets all over everything if you do.
you may also consider an E-cigarette for the first year
but many consider that trading one crutch for annother, but it can be handy for weaning you down to 2 or 3 real smokes a day before you go right off them
morning babble friends
Yeah. I've been thinking about that crossy.
Gotta get to bed though... 1:43 am already.
Didn't intent to be up this late.
Intend, even. Geez. :P
So hope you manage to get some sleep soon yourself... take care and talk to you later.
((sprite))
tc neil
hey crossy :) *hugs*
looks like a fun grid today!
good morning!
{{sprite}}
((ruby))
{{crossy}} are you up (really) early or partying late?
insomnia it is 04:48 and i have been up for 2 hours:(
lhi ruby :)
aww crossy... want me to sing you a lullaby?
lol
no ty,30 more minutes of trying to hunt down this 11 letter word should do it
hehehe... I guess the man heard me sing before...
my husband says he craved cigs for 2 yrs after he quit, long before I knew him, though
could be worse, sprite, I could have sung along -- 2 cats howling on a fence!
it is a tough thing to do,but giving yourself a present at then end helps
some people keep on craving. Less and less often though.
roflol ruby! That would chase in into Elegance's arms straight away!
remember ladies, been married 19 years,i am used to "howling on a fence"
saving up the money you used to spend on cigs... it is incredible.
yup,2 years $12,160.00
I think I am the worst singer in the world, can even hear how "off" I am when I sing in the car
ouch!!!!!
and cigs used to be cheap
if you can hear it, you can't be that bad, ruby
husband quit the day the surgeon general's report came out
It's funny because I can "hear" music very well.....
we quit the day our son was diagnosed as "pre-asthmatic" due to our smog fallout in the house
we are going to sing in the kitchen together, ruby, when I come and visit
YES!
crossy ill probably be able to hear it from his house!
wow crossy. I never smoked more than 5 a day, so I never really had to quit. But my husband stopped smoking in the house as soon as I was pregnant, and he quit when the kids arrived.
hehehe and he will admire us
ahh,you were just a "social" smoker then sprite.wife and i were 3/4 of a pack a day each roughly
can you imagine at today's prices, crssy?
and young people are still starting....it's hard to imagine
crossy, when I smoked my very first cigarette, I loved it like crazy. That is when I knew: if I go and smoke 'normal' amounts, I will be hooked for life. So I limited myself. I still can go for a heavy tabacco cig if somebody is around who has them.
here they are 11.00 dollars a pack for the ones we used to smoke
oh my, I belong in the pb!
my &*&#%* son was stupid enough to start. We handled it pretty ok, I think, and he stopped. Completely.
actually, I like the smell of a good cigar.....
I hate cigar smoke. But I love the smell of a good pipe tabacco.
11 dollars? Wowwww.
mmm,a nice colts mild cigar...
indeed sprite,when we quit,they were 7.50
crazy prices. But with all the additives they are so bad for our health, I don't mind they are expensive.
when I was a kid and we sold them in our store, cigs were 22-25 cents a pack, about $2 a carton
i hope the things go to 20.00 a pack
yes. It certainly helps to motivate people to quit. Not in itself, but combined with ot5 reasons it helps.
I love this grid!
i found,it took a health scare to quit.i do not think price alone would of done it at the time
same! Very enjoyable.
no, that is what I said, crossy. It helps, but not in itself.
indeed:)
and the cuckoo is back! spring is he**
I love cuckoos.
our robins have been back a while our winter ended a month and a half early
my girl and me sowed some veggie seeds yesterday... and now they predict night frost in this week!
even our wild turkeys are moving around
our wildlife isn't that exiting he4. But I love the magpies and .... darn I forgot the names. Those little impish brown common birdies, and the black ones that sing so beautifully.
sparrows and merles, black with yellow beaks, seem to have the most beautiful voices
ride
yes, that is it :D thanks!
whoops, bad nel
mrs and i were out for a drive on the hill and had to stop the car as a group of about 15 turkeys crossed the road, there was a wire fence and all were able to pass through the space except for one big fat girl who must of been 40 pounds..she got stuck in the fence;) i had to park the car,get out and walk over and give her a shove;))
ohhhh that is a great story, crossy :D I can picture it.
that is a great sorty, crossy!
snap, sprite
snap, ruby :D
she was wedged like a cork in a bottle;))
why did the turkey cross the road?
the poor thing. I bet she was pretty indignant about your shove :)
to get from the right to the left of course
to get petted by crossy!
she sure squaked
took me a while to connet the C to the H. It helps!
up till about 20 years ago, wild turkey had almost vanished in this area, but we make a deal with kentucky,we traded 50 breeding pair of our white tailed deer for 50 breeding pair of Kentucky wild turkeys and the rest as they say is history.they estimate now that on blue mtn alone we have a population avaraging 10,000 turkeys
that is wonderful. I love that.
was a good trade
and there are probably enugh deer in Kentucky to feed the wqhole state!
we are fortunate in that we have always been hip deep in deer
are they that small?
except for your garden.....
lol white tailed deer average 165-285 pounds for a large male
the only deer he** are roe deer; I've never seen one but one ate all my neighbor's roses
that is what I thought, lol
that was a roe with good taste in flowers
a male with a full antler rack can be quite impressive
so... is the 11 the plural of the 10? Or are they not related?
stats for both please
I have neither, sweetheart, or I wouldn't have to ask.
I thought I was doing well, no 10, n0 11, no idea!
:(
the way you said it,thought you had the 10
so now ruby got us searching for No10 and No11...
nah, if I had had it, I would have pluraled it, simply ;)
lol
go easy on poor befuddled crossy sprite,i am working on a hour and a half sleep here

Greetings Babblers. I'm here for just 10 minutes or so for my Babble fix.
... then you had better work quickly ... doesn't seem to hard to get a bunch
I am typing away --no system, just typing whatever I see now.
... got about 80 in half an hour ... but I'm sure to hit a wall around 180 ... ... if I've got the time to get there
Go, go, go.

Hi Sue
hi Molly!
no...slack week/reading week was 5 weeks ago molls...home stretch now...last essays and finals this month right around the corner
Man, how soon I have forgotten. Y'all do Winter Break up there, not an Easter break.
yay, me, down to 13 to go, s's and t's
Take my s's and t's. I have plenty and can spare 13 of them
lol, gramma
OOh, an 11. Haven't seen that in a while.
morn everyone - I'm afraid of this one! LOL
if you need a ha4, let me know, down to s's and t's
I wish ot6 and ha4 were one word.
*Pats Sugar on the back* There, there.
aw shucks, feeling safer molly
hello again, just had my 20 minutes of direct vitaminD
now down to 6 to go, all t's
hey ruby, how are things, hun?
47 on a Saturday, 273 on a Monday. : (
the weather is famulous, so can't complain (except about Saturday's tiny grid :( )
ah, well, mollyk, that's the way the cookie crumbles....* grin * ( i have tomorrow off, so np's he4 )
is famulous a portmanteau word?
only for you, dear friend, only for you
looking for those big ec's
and i am do4....lovely grid...not too many nasties
node
oops, sorry. hope th5 are goodies in the pb.
Ibd = sugra snuck some wine in for you
a tad early for alcoholic libations...only 6 am he4
aaaaah, but ibd, it's 5:00 somewhere!
has anyone please got any clues for the 10 and 11 letter word
<---Likes the way Sugrr thinks
maybe breakfast smoothies with a little rum
<---Likes the way Ruby thinks too
e + bottom of face + vowel + prefix for skin and plural = ec10/11
aaron ec 10, ec + short hello + opposite of yes + another word for skin
then ec11 is plural
thank you ibd
should have known that one
thank you
chin
sorry
Wow! that was the most straight forward clue. Just follow the bouncing ball and you get 10 and 11. ty
Phantom: sthenic
okey, dokey, outta he4. it's after 10pm....see you all at the flip, maybe....ruby, please take ca4 of you, hun
{{rose}}
bye, grannyrose. nice to see you
Hi everyone!
Howdy!
this looks like a nice hefty grid!
hello red!
It seems pretty smooth to me. We'll see later on how I feel.
well so far I have 36 whole words, but I started just now.
this grid is nice and chewy
so far so good, but I think I am about to slow way down now. there is an 11 letter!!
marine animal, like a starfish
neat!
sea urchin
all of them are divided into 5 parts
morning, red and ruby et al! :-)
sand dollar
bonjour, une
how's your new little 4-legged buddy??
the cutest, ever!
hello everyone
{{annie}}
morning, annie!
Hi Une, ((Ruby))
Annie, was looking at the NYT article about the new Judy Garland show opening at the Belasco -- looks goooood
Yes, It does
dorens was saying she's thinking about getting tix to The Best Man -- did you hear NPR's segment about it over the weekend?
No, did they like it?
I drool over the reviews in the New Yorker
:-D
yes, they gave it a thumbs up!
I have 2 weeks of The New Yorker which I havent got it yet. I'm way behind.
Since I was sick in November I havent been able to get to the city as much I would like.
feeling better now??
I feel better but do not have much stamina. (sigh)
does the sea air make you feel better, annie?
hope that gets better and better . . .
sitting on the boardwalk?
reading old New Yorkers LOL
:-D
ruby, I'm a native here so I do not take advantage of the boardwalk as much as I should. All the Russians are up on the boardwalk early, early in the AM. They now call Brighton Beach "Odessa by the Sea".
LOL :-)
I've seen several movies on TV about Russdian gangsters in Brighton Beach and always think of Annie!
***wonders if Annie is a russian gangster...***
ruby, I think some of them live in my building. I really would not be surprised. They pour big money into the apartments which they really do now own. Im talking hundreds of thousands. hi dawg, I'm a Russian grandma gangsta moll.
the restaurants must be wonderful!
Ive been to a couple of them. I am not a fan of russian food but the nightclubs are way over the top.
lol, morning annie, ruby, unea, molly, et. al
that is funny. My sister says that the Russian women in her neighborhood in Queens wear huge amounts of makeup and gold jewelry in the supermarket
<-- loves Russian food
and Manola (sp) Blahniks to buy butter and eggs.
(my wedding shows were Manolos! LOL)
shoes*
well, then they were appropiate. They are gorgeous.
they were!
but killer on the feet
I bet you looked tall and fab.
I'm afraid it would take stilts!
steth
whoops
remove the first letter
the grid dances around a lot of th's, sh's esth's
Im still on the top row and have 57 words but got the 10 and 11 from clues
and what purim queen is in the grid?
What a lovely morning to babble. Hello everyone
Esther
hello mom
Hi Mom, YAY for Kentucky!

((Ruby and Annie))
Yes, Annie, I hope they can pull it off tonight

using Fr prepared dough

Good mornin'
my bracket was shot to he** when Duke lost
good morning Bichon
{{bichon}}
morning bichon :)
It's April We went to go see "Hunger Games" yesterday. It was good
good morning all
same with my sister, mom, she's a duke fan.
good morning wvteach
Hi teach
hello WV!
oh well there is always next year
UConn lost to Notre Daame in OT
I don't follow it like I did when Alex lived at home but I still do a bracket with him
had you read the book first, bichon? I've been reading the reviews
have you read about the race issues that have arisen around the hunger games? it's so sad.
hello hurshy
We read all three books. We liked this one the best. didn't care for the second. The third is again great. But there's going to be 4 movies
hello :)
really Hurshy? I have not read the books so don't know what you all are talking about
No, there are race issues?
I've only read reviews
well apparently when the author describes some of the characters she specifies they have brown skin or whatnot, and so they cast black kids in those roles, and people (who had read the books but managed not to notice this) were tweeting horrid things like that it wasn't as sad when this girl died because she was black, and so forth.
that's awful
wow
Yes, that is awful
that is so mean-spirited
Some people see race issues in everything.
time for breakfast
bbl
i feel like most of the time i think that we're doing ok on race (easy for me to say i guess as a white person) and then this comes up, and trayvon martin, and other things, and i realize, not so much.
Not to start a storm, but if Treyvon Martin were white, I believe he would be alive today
can you imagine that there are radical muslims here who are criticizing the police for shooting that monster in Toulouse?
of course he would, annie. it's hard to doubt that.
for sure
they pretend to be color-blind he**, but it's not true
i read an interesting piece about french anti-semitism the other day. it seems like france has a different problem than the US in that they figure your first loyalty should be to france and not a religion
morning all
good morning ((Peri))
help with 8,9 and 10 pla
my eyes are blurry after 174 words so I'll bid you adieu!!
reminds me of the roman empire that way
(((Ruby)))) good to see you
I have heard that before, hurshy about the French
as long a humans can hate, they will. they will fear differences and not be tolerant of those differences. they will avoid change at all costs including killing those who do not think or look like the image in the mirrors.
adieu ruby
I think French anti-semitism is very deeply entrenched, just not spoken about much
hi there Mom, need to get to the food pantry in a bit.but my car is blocked in :( need to get bil to move his car

hi Scrabs
Hi lynxxx. How have you been doing?
name that proper noun! forest moon from return of the jedi
Endor!
Very well Scrabs - enjoyed our mild Summer.
ding ding ding!
hi Scrabbs
My fantasy, since 1986 when episode 6 came out, has been to live on Endor in the forest.
Stuck with en/7 and en/8. Any help?
Lynxxx, we had a very mild winter. Hi hurshy + annie
:) as long as the ewoks decide you're a queen and not a sacrifice
They will obviously see that I deserve to live among them, H.
citations can be foot----- or en7/8
Good morning!
morning, car. :)

TY, H. Hi Car--how is the new phone?
endora

Hi ivesy
hi again all!
Hi Sue. Counting down the days til retirement?
Hi Car, Ivesy & Sue
hi scrab, hi everyone. just waiting to get ready for work..
I am indeed, scrabs!
first day i retired i had a panic attack lol.. then i was fine
I would panic about not having an income.
well i have my pension, not much, which is why i work part time at library
I'll have an income (unless the state takes it away, but retirement benefits are guaranteed in the state constitution so not likely)
do miss the paid holidays though.
Sorry...was changing my icon...now I am back! Good morning!!!!
My other fantasy residence is the Sh5 in MIddle earth.
but now I am gulping down my tea, classes at 9, 12, and 1, meeting at 10, then I'll have time to eat lunch at 2
mine is on a beach, warm weather, solitude. peace
hi car!
Hello you retiring beauty you!
Long day, Sue
i anticipate being destitute in my old age
yes, my MWF are all pretty much like that this semester
Pack a snack for in between so you don't gorge at 2!!!
well, off to take care of the rugrats.. easter vacation.. ugh we should be busy hagd all
Why, H?
Why, H?
they'll have coffee and cookies at the 10:00 meeting (although I will skip the cookies)
and I am generally ok until 2; don't want to eat just before lecturing anyway
name that proper noun! actress anne who did that plane crash movie with harrison ford
By the time you get to the age of not working and reduced income - you don't want for much and your spending falls away - a lot
Heche
Heche!
Carole Repellant!
What, Car?
Besides, sometimes the joy of not working is worth the lack of money
Anne Heche is one of my least favorite actresses of all time.
Right up there with Melanie Griffith.
and kim basinger
ding ding ding! sorry late with the dings
I agree, Car.
i don't like meryl streep.
Yes!
<---Agrees with Car
Molly! Good morning! Beautiful basket!
ok, gotta run, see you all later!!
I'm almost afraid to say I don't mind either of them
Bye Sue!
And Julia Roberts + Bette Midler
bye Sue
glenn close
Although I do like Meryl, I do know several others that do not.
Bye Sue
<--Agrees about Kim Basinger too
Bette Midler is great
I like Bette Midler as a performer vs. an actress.
Although I do sometimes feel Julia Roberts to be a little annoying, I think she and I would be great friends if we knew each other. Just something about her.
i want to be friends with ashley, the scottish girl who was ditched from america's next top model last week. she was adorable.
Hurshy, do you watch Britain's got talent?
I would love to be friends with Ellen DeGeneres--funny, authentic.
no, i am really in the US, i'm only a wannabe brit.
Ohhhhhhh!
As long as she didn't try to be "on" all the time, I agree Scrabs!
Me too, H. I just finished the BBC series "MI-5", called "Spooks" in the UK, and started watching the BBC series "Touching Evil."
Anybody have stats for the 10 and 11? And the 8s other than en8?

The di7-8 was easy once I tried diester and diether first.

Go ahead, somebody, send me to the PB.
And thr-- words?

i am missing four T's but haven't found any yet.

people keep asking for clues for the 10 and 11 but i guess none of us have them!!
you probably just need a sudoku break, sc
we'll find them someday
I still have 2 letters at 0 :(
I have to go see a baby in a minute
don't have them either.
Whee! Now just 1
ec10 and 11 -- starfish!
ends in skin word
ec 10----ec, lower part of face, vowel, 4 letter word for skin....forget who gave this clue
oops. PB for me.
woot, thanks une and annie!
yw :-)
youre welcome
plural it
i find it odd that you would look at a starfish and decide to give it a name based on its skin.
or an elephant, for that matter.
Ty! What a great word!
ty annie.
Stats please for the bottom O?
youre welcome
i only have one of those, or5/12, a plural.
Got it! TY! Finally NBT!

hi Viajes
Very twisty words!

Hi TC!
So the chat log just did something really weird -- I went to bed around 1:30am and when I opened my computer a couple of minutes ago, instead of snapping to the current chat log, it went through a bunch, so I saw a group of chats from around 4:30, 5:30, 6:30, 7:30... strange but kind of cool
hello babbleonia from martha's vineyard
hi Dorens...nice!
Hi Dorens! How is the Vineyard this morning!
d
well, not quite as nice as during the summer, and grey, grey grey today. but yesterday was beautiful... didn't even need a sweatshirt in the afternoon
Nice!
<---- looking up ferry schedule....
come on down car... don't even need a reservation for the ferry (there was plenty of room on ours saturday). but we're leaving tomorrow 4;15
Arrrgh! Figures!
What a nice getaway for you though! :)
*Pours Doren a mimosa*
have this week off, and have always wondered what it looks like here without leaves on the trees. still beautiful (we're in a house in the middle of woods on a nice big pond... lovely views)
Goodnight all
<---- slides champagne flute over to Molly for filling...

Good night Lynxxx!

UNE?!?!?! You are in NashVegas?!?!?!?!? Why did I not know this?!?!?!
big big ponds., and thanks molly
Sounds Walden-esque. Lovely.

I really need to read people's bios more. I have ALWAYS wanted to go to Nashville!
morning
Hello Harp!!!!
morning jane
{making coffee...anyone need some?}
where do you live, car?
une, aren't you overdue for a visit to ny?
waaaay overdue :-)
South of Boston, MA. But I have lived in a few different places...Honolulu, Hilton Head, Amherst....
why not come some time this summer?
dorens, I heard NPR's segment on Best Man this weekend -- did you get tix?
dorens, i don't want to come in the hot summertime . . . maybe late fall?
no, and my friend is supposed to get them at the theater, but now that they did that it might be harder o get
well, i was going to say that if you come in the summer when i'm around and not working, you could stay here . the bus isn't far from my house, and I lie to drive in myself (45 mnutes)
didn't hear the whole segment but glommed on immediately since you had mentioned it awhile back (was transporting rescue puppies)
Doren, I wish I were there with you. we could go kayaking.
oohhh, that's very kind, Dorens! BTW what is your work situation these days?
Quite a few animals in the grid today!
read an interview with candice bergen this weekend, making it even more interesting
sounds like a wonderful cast
scrabbs, it's still a might chilly for kayaking, but you would probably do it anyway, and i would join you!
we should have a babbler meetup up here some time - (une, i plan on working for another two years or so)
nice icon pic, dorens!
I need 1 more Y...I have yo 4/7 and 6/27...what am I missing please?

Hooray!
yay for jane. i just got there too
Let's go Babblers! We wil not be intimidated by a big grid.
I love big grids!
it is somewhat intimidating, actually. i checked and was happy to see that there is a list
yup, car
(i don't love big grids while on vacation)
Me too, not to finish but to type away with reckless abandon.
Hi all.
Hi mixi!
hey mixi
morning mix
Hi dorens, I was planning to be in NJ in May, but it looks like it's fallen through.
that's too bad.. why nj, you have family there? and where?
I am not seeing any more words, so I think it may be time for a break.....
Good morning/afternoon all.
later car
Morristown. Family plot in Hamburg.
Hello Haz!
hazmataz!
hello haz mix, i am ten minutes from morristown!
Hello! Nice to see you all.
I was born there.
and nice to see you as well
i live in mountain lakes. just up 287
There's some shindig for my uncle in early may, but he won't be there.
Hi Haz--I was thinking of you (and our UK buddies)this weekend when watching BBC TV series--Spooks, and Touching EVil.
well if you decide to come up, i'll come down for a cup of coffee or glass of wine
They took the apartment (barn) we lied in to make the entrance to 287.
Hello, Scrabbler. I haven't watched either of those programmes so can't comment - did you enjoy them?
And I'm off to the PB with ei6.
LOVE both. Spooks (Called MI-5 here) lasted 10 seasons. I am on the first season of T.E.--a dark crime show.
i will put in some lobster rolls for you, if you're not allergic to seafood haz
no no, far too common a word to go to the PB over!
nobody would ever have noticed
I'm pretty allergic to prawns so I've never dared try other seafood. But thanks for the offer, Dorens!
And ei6 is rather obvious.
I did, 'cuz i did it earlier. lol
This is true. I didn't notice. But then again, although I had many words with that ending, I had missed that, so it helped.
Ah well, I'll hover about to pretend penance.
All right haz, I will eat them myself. And bake you some brownies ?
Brownies I can have.
with nuts I hope?
why spoil brownies with nuts?
Yes, nuts are no problem ei6.
Because they taste infinitely better!
i disagree.
but hey, since they are only imaginary i guess it really really doesn't matter!!! :)
L like nuts. Then again I am nuts.
You may. We all have our own opinions. I will bake you some without (had to do that with my silly children, who agreed wih you when they were younger)
sweets for the sweet. have a nut. lol
I like nuts in everything. Bread, pancakes, rice, vegetables, salad. Certain dishes call for walnuts, others need almonds, sometimes pecans.
i like them in some things. in fact i have them in my salad all the time. and i like them plain sometimes. but not in brownies or fudge or ... mostly like, chocolate dessert things, i guess.
even though i will happily eat chocolate-peanut BUTTER fudge.
Hm... and I really find brownies san nuts to be like naked
sanS, sorry
so7 like a squished fish, and so7 change last letter of that one
now that is interesting.. squished fish. this is making my brain work. squished fish.
squished, crowded
thanks got it
i was thinking like flattened, pounded, which made no sense of course
lol, my last word was if, th4.
TY for those so7's
and why not?
Yay Hurshy.
I need the last so7.
scrabs, do you go out in the kayak when it is in the 40's?
in the manner of a drunk, mixi
ttfn all!!!
bye hursh
Bye, hurshy, enjoy your day.
mixi my flag less a constenant :)
ty mari and hurshy
good morning L(
spelling - need coffee lol
Good morning, cybernan.
good morning nan
meant to give you a smile :) -- but working on a miniscule keyboard in the dark
oh, I was wondering about that!
Doren, we have paddled in low-50's temps, but that is cold for our wet feet. We don't have Neoprene boots.
I figured you were still asleep nan. lol
Great clue, Mari!
Well that's good Scrab. I was wondering just how hearty you were! It did get into the 50's yesterday, and if I were in the house that I've had previously with canoe right on the water in front of the house, I probably would have given it a whirl. But too much effort to rent something with this iffy weather. Nice for walking along the beach and in the woods, however
doubt I'll finish this one as I still have 158 to go, hubby will be awake soon, and we are stopping overnight with friends near Seattle today
this does seem to be a grid that requires a bit of effort. down to 104 and think i might need a break soon.
So many proper nouns as well.
11 left.
Or maybe names more than nouns.
Yes, Haz. I seem to be finding more of them right now than not
Go mixi. 103 remain unfound for me.

ah, fully understand, enjoy nan
home, flosey
it's fun and quick (so far) stid
will wave to you too, Nan -- holler if you stop near here for lunch!
thanks harp -- will start it!
quick in the sense that it is easy to find words because there are so many -- maybe not quick to finish ;)
I have Mitchdick's list in my profile if you want to use it nan
anyone have a clue for the ne6?
it's okay viajes, my goal most days is halfway. :-) sometimes I get a little further.
also lickety is up
ah, with lickety sometimes I do try for the whole shebang
ne6 - ne plus an anagram of what you do on a horse
ne6 is a worm
thanks viajes, didn't realize, lickety is so much easier to follow
I generally don't do anything on a horse...
yeah, it was down for a bit, and then one day it wasn't up until about 10pm, but most days it's been back lately, which is a lot easier than the list
thanks mixi and Haz!
You're welcome, stidmama.
got it too -- thanks!
Ns are nixed

My husband is a horticulturist and I'm very proud of the 10 botanical names that i know
and that knowledge comes in handy with when doing word puzzles
Ah. My favorite Dorthy Parker line.
You can bring a horticulture, but you can't make her think.
what Kap?
?
clever kap
You can lead a horticulture, but you cannot make her think
sorry had to read that twice now i get it
OK, that's my drop in for today- must go to work.

Don't go to work nothing good can come of that
except a pay cheque at the end of the week
My brain clicked shut -- clue for en7 please?

that gives me the first 3 letters, I think...
ummm... a final memo?
Yes!!!
amelu, are you cluing en8?
Thank you, amelu

*Jumping up and down, waving arms* Ec10 & 11? Anyone? Anyone?
can't help you Judi
ec10 - e plus the bottom part of the face, a vowel, skin (and then plural)
Thank you, Haz. I had the spiney creature. Wondered if it was something similar.
I think the ec 10 and 11 are aquatic.
Indeed they are. Sea urchins, etc.
EC + ***terland + Keats wrote ***s + suit of a**or
***terland?
Now, if I can get a clue for the Ar8, I'll go away a happy camper.
ar8 - plural of ar7 - a little opera song. Think ar4/4 with a French ending.
hinterland
Smashing! Ty again, Haz.
tyvm erda
You're welcome.
YW bichon -- that's not an easy one to clue...
ty Haz for the ar 8
You're welcome, bichon.
are there any words which begin with esth?
No, there aren't.
no bichon
ty flosey, keep trying to make esthete
there's a delay in the chog
However, take off the e at the front and you have the start of another word.
st7/32
tyvm Haz, wouldn't have gotten that on my own
Glad to help, bichon.
well, my single slice of pizza was super-yummy. im SURE my carrot sticks will be equally as satisfying...
Of course they will.
Is that some kind of self-hypnosis Eva?
something like that, molls. after gaining a pound last week + missing my 50-mark, im determined to get it this week. alas, i sort of threw myself off friday night, but im hoping to make up for it!
Whoa! 50-mark meaning 50 pounds? Good for you!
yeah. SHOULD have been there last week, but i slipped. this week or next, i will be there! then just another 15 or so after that.
Way to go Eva. You should be very proud of yourself.
i am. :)
That's a lot of weight! Well done.
TY haz. ive been working very hard at it! still have work to go, so i try not to congratulate myself TOO much.
*Waits for Eva to take Jennifer Hudson's place*
Still, you can give youself a pat on the back.
i do now + then, yes. and dear hubby does a good job of cheering me on as well.
this is a nifty grid. I keep thinking I'm found all I could and then find another couple
Hello, ruby.
hello haz
is it Spring over there?
It thought it was summer for a couple of days last week but it's getting colder again.
are you having the same drought?
No, we have water enough and to spare!
For some curious reason the dry parts of Britain have been drier than usual, the wetter parts have been wetter. We've had a mild and wet winter.
they've had only 25% of a normal year in France
PHone.
And back, just my daughter reporting that she's on the train for home.
good afternoon
Hello, Good Enough.
how's life haz?
It's fine, thanks. What about you?
eh. my mom's wake is later today :(
is this the newlywed daughter, haz? hows post-wedding life treating the lovely couple?
I'm sorry. Losing your mother is extremely difficult.
oh, GE. im so sorry.
How are you coping?
it has been hard but she passed two weeks ago so i think it will be relieved to get past these next two days
Good Enough, gentle hugs to you. Losing a parent is such a difficult time, especially for daughters and moms.
who ever heard of waiting two weeks?!
We tend to have our funerals very quickly over here (Northern Ireland), usually within a couple of days. I think that's too fast but two weeks is a long time.
yes, she was my best friend. but she lasted 7 months with a reoccurance of cancer in her liver so she is better off now
eva, i just read back...50 pounds great!!!
::blushes:: TY GE
I'm glad she is at peace. {and Eva, good for you.}
Hi everyone!!
i was just getting started when all this came upon us so i am going to have to rededicate myself soon!
i am sorry for your loss GE:(
Note to Eva: Good job!! Don't be like me, though, and gain it back. Once you do all of that hard work - don't let it go!! Rah!! Rah!! Rah!!
thank you all. you are very kind.
'soon' will come, GE. Maybe for now, just cradling yourself with love and gentleness is enough.
i dont plan on it. it took 10+ years to put it all on, and now i know what to do to lose it/keep it off. GE, dont even worry about that right now. you take care of what needs your attention.
love and gentleness would be great. i just hope i don't translate that to chips and dip, if you know what i mean
Some of us speak through experience, GE, losing a beloved mother makes the world a different, stranger place.
Sorry, GE. Know what it's like to lose your mother. Mine was my best friend, too. I lost her at the very "too young" age of 52.
I was 26 (30 years ago) and have thought of her every day.
Glad to hear that, Eva!! I am about halfway to a 40 lb. weight loss goal and so determined to keep it off this time.
i also lost my mother to cancer in 1991:( and it is a hard thing
Me, too, ch! It was 31 years ago this summer and I was 24.
::fingers crossed and knock on wood:: i still have my mommy and she turns 73 this month. doesnt look a day over 55.
horray on the wight loss ladies!!! soon crossy will be surrounds by slim hotties:)
you already are, crossy. soon we will just be even slimmer, which will make room for even more of us to be near you. ;)
enjoy her eva. i was lucky. my mother was 85! now we need to watch out for dad who just turned 88!
lol yaa !!!
I am blessed to have known an abundance of remarkable, true-hearted women in my life, who inspire and guide by their example. I sometimes suspect my mom has helped put them in my path :)
my dad is the one we need to look out for.
mom just joined WW and takes pretty good care of herself. but dad has been in the hospital a few times over the last few years. just doesnt take good enough care of himself.
okay i only have 31 words but i think it is time to get on with preparations. I will take all your thoughts with me today. ((HUGS)) for all.

I guess that is all you can do, and that sucks. I hope it gets better.
thanks. the weird thing is.. this is weird....
if i smoke a cig.. the pain goes away.
That is strange. I wonder if it has anything to do with expanding and contracting your abdomen when you smoke.
hm.. thats a good theory.
They checked you for a hernia last time, right?
they did an ultrasound said all was ok
Very odd. I hope you can find a doctor who can figure it out.

the keyboard, no - except if i pull the keys out one by one\
yes
e plus bottom of your face and latin term for skin..add s for the plural
and put a vowel after that part of your face
you can get an external keyboard but it makes the laptop pretty bulky
last so7 sounds like someone from scotland
hmm
tried that before i purchased this one - i think i just need to spend a LOT of time on it - keys are so different - sizewise - and because there's a number pad, the letter keys are skewed to the left
got it thanks cos

How many words please?

sss1 273 words, so keep going.
Thanks Much
rhino
he's the guy who shot the unarmed teenager in Florida (he's admitted to doing it, so no question there)
they only have as much power as you give them...
which media? The corporate media, FOX? NPR? Many mediums, some well done.
And now the weather.
Is the plural of tedium tedia?
made me look
redia
oops. Nothing.
Oh dear- it was a word. Off to prison.
up here we like to turn on CNN for news chuckles.everything they do is in 20 point type and each bit of news is dissected from 5000 different angles and wolf blitzer is so into what he is doing you can almose see the vein pulsing in the centre of his forehead and feel his breath spatter hit yer cheeks:)

hi Kap and Crossy
Hi
howdy westford:)
WE HAVE FOR YOU A LIFE REPORT FROM THE TOWN OF SAUGUS WHERE PARENTS ARE GATHERRED OUTSIDE THE LOCAL PUBLIC SCHOOL WAITING FOR THEIR CHILDREN
fFilm at 11.
Hi all. Just back after a family day - my daughter's home from Translyvania and hass brought her b/f to meet us. 47 words left to find.... *heads for depths of grid*.
hey jac
"all they need is those funky csi miami camera angles and cnn would be epic, maybe some cecil b.demille sound tracks in the bg
howdy jacula
Eyewitnesses report that several mothers anxiously stomped out their cigarettes as the dismissal bell rang
We will update you as the story unfolds.
Hi jac. Gotta run.
*waves* from grid.
flash! a one armed man was arrested in central park,he was in the pond rowing a boat around in a circle and annoying people
too funny crossy
LOL, Crossy.
2000 fleas died today in a house fire, all the dogs were rescued but the fleas were overcome by fur...
LOL again. :-)
cnn has nothing on crossy news
and it is now time for the much requested crossy,s tidbit of the day!!!
Quod licet Iovi non licet bovi. (What Jove may do, is not permitted to a cow.)
not sure what it all means, but is sounds nice and deep ,plus a cow is in it;))
where do you get these crossy?
sorry, crossy does not reveal his sources:)
well keep 'em coming
here, let me grab you a bonus one....
"Joy is wealth and love is the legal tender of the soul." -- Robert G. Ingersoll
Crossy - the saying is about double standards, i.e. what is permitted for one group (probably considered a 'higher' group) is not permitted for others.
ahh ty jacula, sometimes i just pop them out there and do not give them the pondering they deserve
y/w Crossy.
that second one is really nice
14 words left to find...
Crossy - or to quote George Orwell, 'All animals are equal but some are more equal than others'.
Like the Ingersoll quote. Very true.
parallels the human condition, does it not?
Yup!
11 to go...

I've been waiting for this to happen. Lots of people play the lottery in a pool at work. Everyone chips in 5 bucks or whatever and a bunch of tickets are bought. The winners agree to split whatever is won.
Hi Molly. Are they all disagreeing now?
Apparently, that was the case with the big Mega Millions win in Maryland. But the woman who bought the ticket claims it's all hers, because the winner was a "separate ticket" she bought for herself.
Yea, right...
we avoid work pools like the plague around here, too many big wins gets contested and everyone has to wait and hope the lawyers do not eat up too much of it before it is paid out
not suprised
Needless to say, the people she works with are furious. This is why I don't play the lottery in work pools and I never buy tickets for other people.
doubtful but not reall way to prove it
ahh..the old "seperate ticket " ploy....been done here as well
good idea Molly
It can be proved by showing copies of each ticket and the lotto machines know when (exact time) and where each ticket was purchased.
well, they she will be in trouble
indeed jacula..but the lawyers have a big appetite
in the mean time she has aliented all her coworkers
Yeah, but who is to say which twenty she bought for the pool and which three she bought for herself.
we had one here, that was fought over for 2 years
with 200million in her pocket do you think she Cares????
I was just going to say, I seriously doubt she's still working.
lol, brandy, nothing is released if the win is officially contested
at least here it is not
Camelot, the company that oversees the lottery in the UK, is sh*t hot on knowing who bought what, where and when. A couple who owned a local shop in UK found that out only last week when they tried to cheat a customer who'd got his ticket elsewhere.
true. and it won't be releaseed there either, but still, even if she loses she'll still have 20 million. She doesn't care....
Hi BJ! How are you?
but as molly says, these days best to play alone
hey there BJ,how are you?
I'm not sure how that can be contested. Work pools are pretty much a "gentleman's agreement".
Just great Jacs, You?
there are ways to play together. None of them involve last minute 'lets buy a ticket together'. That's for fools.
Not so bad, BJ. Jobs for us all would be nice, though. They help to pay the bills.:-/
not here molly, there are olc lotty group forms
4 to go now...
Here you can use a subscription, or everyone gets together and chooses numbers which are then recorded and played. There is no arguing over it. Its documented nine ways from sunday.
bj - sounds like the Canadian lottery is run somewhat like the UK one.
Of course, you don't HAVE to do it that way. You CAN do it the hard way and feed them lawyer varmints....
2 to go...
Not at all Jacs, its simply pssobile to avoid the headaches if one puts the least smidgeon of effort into it.
I've never worked anywhere where pools were done by subscription or by choosing numbers. However much went into the pool bought that amount of random tickets.
only one i go in with is my brother..he plays u.s tickets for me and i play canadian one for him
FIREWORKS! *~*~*~*~*~*~ :-)
yay Jacs
Well done Jac.
Thanks!
yaa for jacula!

Well Molly, that makes it play time for the lawyers.
And if she bought them all in the same transaction, the best she can hope for is to count her 'own' tickets as multiple shares of the pool.
how many are in this disputed pool?
It's a McDonalds, so not likely more than 10-15.
I'm going to wander off now. It's been a long day. Happy Babbling all. x
15 people..200 million..get over it and share it all out i say
tc jacula
Just read usatoday. So far the woman hasn't even produced the ticket.... ROFL....
sigh..too many greedy people in the world sometimes:(
Actively refused to do so in fact.
If she has half a brain, she'll get someone she can trust to claim it and split with her...
well,i hope she like court rooms
Yup. How many people with metal detectors hit the highway near Kirkland lake this week hoping to find missed rolls of Loonies and Toonies.....
insane
i would rather eat kraft dinner and a day old dollar bag of rolls, that grub on the highway hoping to sneak someone elses money away
we seem to have similar levels of ambition....
Of course, some wag is likely to pooint out that we would rather have our kraft dinner now than to get off our butts and grub in the snow for an extra few bucks to buy a burger....
first ro6/18 pls
Ohh, Canada....
as a young teen,i was a book hound and lived in the library, one day i had a book from one of those stacks where they keep the town history, you could read it there but not take it out.was for a school project.anyways,i learned that the original town dump was shut down in 1900 and was actually under a artificial berm where now resided the town water tower on the highway.i knew that the antique shoppe was always hunting for old glassware,so i started digging up old blue and red glass, glass hot water bottles, poison bottles and the like..made a good allowance for 5 years or so..lol dad used to get tired of me soaking old bottles in the laundry sink and clogging up the works with dirt
well, the burger would be bought with money that is not ours to begin with
dn why i told that story, just popped into my head;)
that's not work, that's fun. And if someone is going to pay you for it, thats a bonus...
Peri, i only have ro6/21
I
ro**** tomatoes?
ro 6/18 list of who's on a team
I've got ro 6/18---food goes ro**** and r + the sea creature
Ty, luv
ty lwg. guess it's time for me to list
yw :-)
if you make a living out of your fun hobbies brandy, you will never work a day in your life.it is what we all aspire to
how do we get paid to babble?
i have been working on that very problem dorens...
I have a theory that there are very few things that anyone would enjoy doing 40 hrs per week and still make a living at
i could sell books or antique glass all day long:))
part of that is that fewer people really want to work (imho)
crossy: www.vosgeschocolate.com. just look
lookin...
My colleagues are tripping over themselves accepting retirement packages. Having had one company (Nortel) go bankrupt under me, I can understand it. But Avaya bought us out, and they are still buying me expensive servers and toys and paying me good money to play with them. I am not planning on retiring. I enjoy the challenge of working on prototype software and seeing just how the designers have screwed up, today.
bacon and chocolate...beautiful....
sounds ideal, bj
And some of them are sheer geniuses. But then they say the line between genius and idicoy is quite fine...
i thought of you when i saw that
lol, brandy,i have been bought, traded, downsized moved to lateral locations and outsourced so mush over the years i should charge by the half hour
ty mab,it looks delish
Should try chocolate, peanuts, peppers and chicken...
holy mole
now,chocolate and peppers sounds interesting...
Ah, someone who knows how to eat...
<---knows how to eat..just a little too well
lol crossy at 6 foot 2 and 250 pounds definatly knows how to eat;)
just finished, any clues needed before I go?
Hello all. I have 112 left, could use a clue for the 10 or 11.
ec 10/98 e + lower part of your face + vowel + word for skin and plural for 11
a sea urchin is a ec10
Are you guys talking about eating rodents again?
thanks!
Good evening Babblers
Oh.. I can't say anything molly..lol
I'll take a clue for a 7 or 8
Mexican food, not chinese food....
95 - I think I'm ready to list. Is there lickety today? Dare I ask?
You know, Guacamole, holy Mole, TEQUILA!!!!
yes, lickety is up and running.
woohoo!
en 7/32 = not the beginning + a short letter
I Love Lickety!!
I love pickles for cluing.
I used to really love tequila, but I really can not stomach it now...sadly.
ar7/8 Mr. Onasis + french feminine ending (diminuative)
ha 7/36 more of the ha 4/6 above it
in 7/36 pt of the in 6/21 above it
so 7/32 sounds like a small, oily fish and then change the last vowel for another 7
di7,32 - kitchen furniture and pl for the 8
so 7/32 remove the 2nd letter of what a person from Scotland is
Did I miss a clue for the ec7? Is it related to the 10?
ha7, more skillful with tools.
ec 7 is a marsupial hedgehog
ty stid
oh, not marsupial, monotreme! LOL hope it helped anyway wht

I don't have names for my computers. I do call them names sometimes, but this is supposedly a PG board.
first ro6/18 pls
I used to work with someone who named a set of computers: Hindengerg, Thresher, and General Belgrano. Things that go down.
ilst of names, peri
used to take attendance the first day of classes
First ro6/18 is the list of players on a team
people name their computers?
ty wht
Fireworks. Last word was rh6. I was about to ask for a clue when I noticed the ot5 h.
At least people who work in the computer business do, ruru.
yay wht!
I have 7 in my cubicle. Without names it would be hard to keep them straight.
Some of my servers have 8-9 VM's running. Have to keep them straight somehow... IP Addresses just become alphabet soup...
they probably number their children however
I've been working in the computer business for over 30 years. Naming systems is long-standing tradition. There was always an appreciation for a clever name.
But you are close, ruru, we name all our boys Darryl.
10
LOL
pretty soon kids will just have bar codes
.. which one are you ...come here ... I have to scan you
Not just kids, ruru. everyone will have a chip implanted and it will be tied to your credit card. They will just scan you and your purchases at the checkout.
wonder if we'll just scan for sex then?
Depends what neighborhood you walk through, I guess.
LOL..
<---would love to see that receipt
Definately wouldn't want my spouse to see it!

the second ch5.16 means "to chirp".. newbie for me!
aw, ((stidmama)) ty so much.. it was just beyond wonderful to see our daughter so happy
we have new family members now.. Danish!
what fun! do they come from denmark recently?
amazing how many family members of the groom came over for the wedding.. the groom has been here for quite a while, but all his family, except for an uncle in the U.S., are in Denmark
oh, that is marvelous! so many families aren't able to maintain such close ti4 after immigration. Although I suppose nowadays it's easier.
yes, it is... groom travels so much in his work that he has a lot of frequent flier miles, so he goes back to Denmark a couple of times a year to see his parents, and flies them over here on other times.. our daughter spent Christmas in Denmark with him and met the whole family.. wonderful people..
and they DO know how to PARTY.. lol.. we had a blast
It's nice when in-laws actually like each other
evening all!
I wouldn't actually know, pickles -- but I can imagine!
