ROFL!!
this is almost like sesame street isn't it
* snigger * yes volleyMOMdee

I have a tickle me elmo..does that count?
hey, give ruru the whole chicken, not just a feather
the whole chicken? I'd get clucked up
we'll use lubricant, there will be time.

I thought it was only sheep.. who knew

"where men are men... and sheep are scared..." (quote I recall from somewhere...)
lol, where did this start? was it the risotto?
think so, g'rose, all on you then, lol!
oh, broad shoulders....and a good time was had by all
flosey is shocked however
:)
brb
but it did make me think of a long-ago night when some friends and I decided we needed to make up T-shirts that said "I licked my plate at Minn's Tea House" (a favorite local eatery)
not much from that quarter, flosey, are you there?
hello gang!
hi jilli
hi, jilli!
glad you missed the last gross conversation
hi jilli
yes rose, I'm here, thought I was being ignored
oh, dear one, never.....

Dylan's getting neutered? I thought he was a pick of the litter!
he was but he's not going to work out jilli
he's a nice boy.. but he's got issues

he's got just a weee bit too much testosterone
is your leg in danger, ru?
LOL
(object of Dylans affection, lol!)
I'm buying a lot of new pants if that's what you mean
oh, that's too bad, ru. Seriously, could you email me as to what the issues are?
yes.. I will
we used to have a girl dog who did that, I was amazed, didn't think girls would do so.
probably tomorrow sometime
Thanks, ru
have you ever seen madonna rbud?
well.... yes, but I try not to look
well?
was trying to avoid the obvious Madonna/female dog comment...
jeezus dee how did you finish this thing so quickly
A friend had a Dane who was so "masculine" he almost fell over when he lifted his leg so high.toon
oops -- off to the PB
well endowed dog, jilli?
I wasn't talking about licking
why do you think they call them great :D
no, rbud, just enthusiastic.
LOL!!
will this be an overnite stay for Dylan, ru?
or just outpatient?
no.. he'll be home later in the day .. I have to put a collar on him.. he's not going to like that
you mean one of those cone collars?
if that's all he notices that upsets him about tomorrow, it'll be a good thing, lol!
yes.. one of those
my vet thought my header for setting up the appointment was hysterical
don't they make inflatable donut-looking ones now? not so annoying - I think I saw one somewhere
do tell!
Balls to the Wall
:p
LOL
been awhile since I heard that phrase
I wrote to my vet that we needed an appointment.. she fell out of her chair laughing at that
I bet she cracked up
she tried to write back.. but couldn't think of anything that good

HAPPY birthday RUBY
oooh Hi all, taking my lurking moment to wish Ruby a happy Bday!!!
Happy birthday Ruby x
fireworks! :D and ♪♫♪Happy Birthday to Ruby! ♪♫♪
and a very happy birthday from me too Ruby.
hello, back again, anyone here? * peers around hopefully*
okay, hung around for a couple of minutes. hope you all have a great day/night. see you at a VERY late flip. not home until 9:30pm tomorrow. ( my time)
good afternoon Babble friends!
happy birthday, rubyfoo!
happy birthday Ruby, another Aries like me!
hello mummy
hi Sprite, how's things in your part of the world?
cold! We had some Springy days, but now we are back to frost at night. Brrrr. And you?
gm
Rain overnight and rather cold and windy today, but it's nice when the sun comes out
morning kje!
sun is good. I vote for more sun.
I see you are near Amsterdam, I wen ther in March a few years ago when traveilling back from Australia via Bali, we went from 40 degrees to minus 1 in Amsterdam, a great shock to the system!
ouch! I hope you didn't get ill.
fall ill. Well, you know what I mean.
No, but it took a few days to thaw out!
I bet! Yes it can be rather unpleasant here. It is now. My girl put on gloves and a hat when she went to school this morning.
WE must make the effort to visit when the weather is better, I would like to get another diamond ring made, I lost the diamond out of the one I had made when we were there..
then Amsterdam is a good place. Let me know in advance when you come... we could have a coffee or lunch together!
thank you, that would be nice!
:)
better go and hand the washing out, can't stand it haning around the house drying, catch you all later!
bye mummy, see you later
.. hang, hanging, got dyslexic fingers today!
I got it, don't worry :D
oh, blow, it's just started to rain...
:( Stupid weather.
kinda tricky little grid
it is, isn't it? It is harder than it looked to me at first.
yep
hey Sprite, do you play chilexigame?
jedi should be accepted ; )
that awfully addicting chihuahua game? Yeah, started last week. Can't stay away now.
I agree! Jedi is SO a word.
I thought that was your name I saw there, I started that last week too! I think someone mentioned it here in the chog, so I sought it out
I thought that was your name I saw there, I started that last week too! I think someone mentioned it here in the chog, so I sought it out
hi everyone
yes, I think it was red. It is fun, isn't it! Quite a different twist than babble.
hello berri
explain the game?
Yes, it's another game I enjoy, really gotta go now., bye all
you get 9 letters from which to make as many words as you can. One letter is central and must be used in every word. Plurals and verb forms that are -s are not valild.
bye mummy!
and there is at least one word that uses all letters.
the link?
http://chi.lexigame.com/
may check it out.... though really do not need another distraction
one good thing: it is fast. Not like babble. You play for maybe 10 mins and then you are out of words. Or I am, anyway.
ok
lots of word freaks there too, on the forum. That is fun too.

star WARS (movies, and less commonly known, books) is a long time ago in a galaxy far far away. star TREK (tv show, then movies, then more tv shows and movies, plus books) is in the FUTURE in OUR galaxy. very different. :)

My dad (who is now 91) called me yesterday to tell me he'd finished his taxes - he's still working on finalizing the financials from his divorce even though my stepmother passed away in November. Sigh.

scrabby make sure to leave the joint one open for now as well.we learned it can come in handy when paying off the old bills
but rest assured, after my weekend of partying (saw my friends band play twice and a rehearsal dinner + my BILs wedding) there was plenty of drinking and less-than-healthy eating going around!
how long has it been, scrabs?

can't cap a ( ), but sending a HUGE one to ruby..
that's what it is named on FB?
TY, Crossy. Very comforting.
that "video" might be hard to lose scrabbler .. I still strive to remember earlier memories of my dad - and often wonder about it. But it is part of life... and your faith certainly is helpful now, right?
Yes, Rob
though i have seen your picture ruby,i best use caution, snap you in half lol
you are all a trtemendous comfort!!!!
hey ruby, un gros hug!
hugs to ruby and scrabbler
My "faith" has come under question since Mary died. I am shocked, but that is where I am for now.
how do you say hug in French?
ruby, I just looked it up - got calin, but many french speakers said they'd never use it.....
shock is normal right now... you know this
do people send hugs and kisses in French? It's de rigueur in Italian - everybody hugs and kisses everybody in emails, letters, forums, etc...
they say "serrer dans les bras" it is a thin language
I was referring to my faith--was so strong--and now I am agnostic.
calin? not embrasse?
{{big hugs scrabs}}
embrtasse is kiss
and basider is a bad word
I go to WordReferenceForum.com, dorens - forum for French-English, very interesting discussions
Oh I didn't realize that you had begun to doubt. I myself have always doubted... and have envied those who do have strong faith... so comforting, and seems to make life simpler in general
I think it is ok to wrestle with faith, beliefs, spirituality, religion.
that was supposed to be " baisser = bad word and embarasser is kiss
scrabbler - you might consider reading "how long, O Lord" by DA Carson, about suffering and evil
TY, Hursh.
embrasser* (2 bloody mary's with DIL)
i had been tought baiser was to kiss... embrasser (containing the word bras - which means arms?) was hug. but what do i know? and my memory is not the best
husbands's Fr teacher said he should never use biser! huh?
ok folks, i don't really belonghere.. was just looking for a few words to start the day and got involved on chat... i am supposed to be working.... happy babbles
baiser*
OK, I must get going. I will spend the morning with my mother and the afternoon with Mary's kids. Mary's 7 yr old son told me that my Dad will see his Mom in heaven.
bye dorens

it is now time for crossy,s quote of the day!!!
"Never laugh at live dragons, Bilbo you fool!" he said to himself, and it became a favourite saying of his later, and passed into a proverb. "You aren't nearly through this adventure yet," he added, and that was pretty true as well. -- Bilbo Baggins, "The Hobbit" by J.R.R. Tolkien, Chapter XII
thanks Eva
Definitely...
there is also a saying i have seen on bumper stickers and things that goes, "never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and good with ketchup".
this is also very true
OK...My quote of the day today. "You can't just wait for inspiration. You have to come after it with a club. " Jack London

I have every reason in the world to be happy. I have one to a thousand reasons to feel good. Today, I count my blessings. I let the sun shine inside my heart and I see in its light the dazzling beauty that's within me. I see my strength, I see my compassion, I see my love, and I see my joy. I choose to feel connected, I choose to feel alive in this moment and I choose to feel good, happy, and whole. My life is good and I am blessed." ~Frankie Perez
Also posted it in my profile.
thanks river, had that one, apparently there's another

allrighty babblers. having a family dinner at my house to celebrate the birthdays of my 7-year-old nephew, my late-30s SIL, and my mid-70s mother. i need a magical cake recipe that will please all of them but would still be low in WW points value for my mother and me. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand................ ... GO!
does it have to be cake?
Make a sponge cake and top it with a sugar free sorbet!
preferably, for the 7 year old
Michnick! Hello Dahling!!!!! {{hugs}} how are you?!??!
crazy cake
That is a great idea!
Helllloooo. I am fine, but busy.
Do tell Hurshy!
crazy cake?
tone
crazy cake has no eggs or butter. hang on let me call my husband for the quantities of the ingredients.
Good morning, fellow Earthlings. Just booked our September trip to Phoenix. Ah, sweet desert oasis, here we come.
<----- pencil and paper ready....
it's chocolate so sure to please a 7 year old.
1.5 c flour, 1 c sugar, 3 T baking cocoa, 1 t salt, 1 t baking soda. mix together in 9x9 pan. make 3 holes in the dry ingredients, small medium large. in them put: 3 T veg oil, 1 T vinegar, 1 t vanilla. pour 1 c water over all and mix. bake at 350 for 35 min. i have also done this doubled in two round pans and made a layer cake of it. usually for icing i like just a simple powdered sugar, milk and vanilla mixture.
good morning Judi, sounds wonderful, something to look forward to
cone
You can Google the recipe too, if you want to cut and paste it
TY Hurshy!
Hi Judi!
Well, it's mostly paid for thanks to Hubby's unexpected bonus, so that's half the battle.
Hi Molly!
i think that it was invented during the depression when ingredients were expensive and scarce. :)
root
oy vei!!
There is also that five minute cake in a cup recipe, but that needs an egg
oh how funny i didn't know you could find crazy cake online. :)
Oooh! Molly! Is that online as well?
And have you made it before?
Yep, it's on line. It's better if you make it with the chocolate chips, but they are optional.
TY!
Help with the J"s please? I only have jo 4/9. TY!
My my. The J's are elusive.
will keep that recipe in mind. personally, im not a chocolate cake fan...
It's similar to those Betty Crocker Moist Delight desserts.
Well Eva, for you, there is caramel apple cake in a cup
Oooh! You could make a variety!!!!
i would do cake-in-a-cup for myself, but i want to actually bake a cake for the family. :)
Angel food cake is always a good option. Just throw some strawberries or other fruit over it. Voila! Dessert!
Woot! found the 8!!!!!
yaa for car!!
Wow! I am pretty AND smart!!!1 LOLLOLOLOL!
tadone!! finito!! twisty tricky grid
Yeah Dawg! Congrats!
you are the full package car;)
ty, and hi again everyone
YAA FOR LBD!
I think if I was in your entertaining position Eva, I would bake a regular cake for the clan and make a separate "okay points" dessert for you and Mom.
OK...whilst looking for a new eeyore image on google...someone took eeyore and put the tentacles from Davy Jones from Pirates of the Caribbean on Eeyore's face!!!! Nooooooo!
Or, kick back and enjoy the cake and use your extra points or activity points!
Here is a recipe for low points Weight Watcher's coconut cake...http://tinyurl.com/79gx65f
TY Molly! LOVE coconut!
New Eeyore image updated.
If I type the word "finial" one more time, I shall scream!
Help with the O's please? I only have one of each and I would like to finish them.
if i type the word "finite" one more time,i will join you car
I have oa 5/10 and om 4/5

Hi uusue!
Bye uusue!
hi and bye, car!!
OK...found je 4

so, the menu for the familly meal will be: Baked Ham Tossed Salad Green Beans Corn Pudding Potato Salad Braised Cabbage Gingered apples and Pears Butterscotch Cake for dessert does that sound tasty and well-balanced?
nice!
Found all the vowels. I'm done for the day. See you kids tomorrow! *POOF*
I'll bring Pear Martinis!
Bye Judi!
i wonder if thats too much food? 6 adults + 3 kids. i think that seems ok?
It is a lot of food. I would probably nix the potato salad and/or the corn pudding or the cabbage.
I gots to scoot! Have a great day everyone! {{hugs}}
what is corn pudding Eva?
kep the tater salad as it is the only starch
I agree with Car. I would do corn pudding or potato salad but not both.
crossy, thats why i put that on the list. otherwise, thats what i would cut. i kinda WANT corn pudding and i like the cabbage.
maybe i will just do it all, but in smaller batches
there u go:)
or just make it all + send the leftovers home with everyone, like my mom usually does. :)
and as flosey said, what the heck is corn pudding??
thanks crossy, I gave up and googled it
Corn pudding is kind of a starchier version of corn souffle. Creamed corn thickened with corn starch and baked in a dish.
ummm.... kinda like a casserole? can sweeter or more savory depending on the recipe
ugh..toss that keep the taters
sounds southern?
sounds super starchy and gloppy
heh, i LOVE corn
I always do scalloped potatoes with ham
i love it as well, just not creamed
my coworkers wife makes the most AMAZING corn pudding. he brings it to every food event at work (we all demand it) but she refuses to give out the recipe.
okay, you all are going to have to stop LOL. I haven't had breakfast yet.
some corn pudding mix creamed corn with whole kernels
I find it very strange when a person doesn't share a recipe - did she create it herself?
now you can get almost any recipe you could want on the internet
flosey, i dunno. it might be a family recipe (thats my guess). all i know is that of all the corn puddings i have had, this one blows the rest out of the water. SOOOOOO yummy.
urp..crossy thinks of all that slimy corn...
probably a 'secret' ingredient that gives it a boost
hi all back from exercise class, took the more intense one and made it through!!
wtg peri
not slimy at all, crossy. creamy and wonderful. pretty sure she uses cream cheese in hers. i would gladly blow my diet for a day to dine on it. :)
ty flosey
I find it strange when people won't share recipes too, Flosey.
seems to me, no 2 people end up making it quite the same anyway
there is definitely a lot of variety. some people even make it kinda spicy, but i prefer the sweet, creamy varieties. :)

no thank you nana
wow. one of my coworkers got some AMAZING photos of the flyover today. looks like he was up in the air along side of the shuttle!
bye all :)
ttfn nan
The picture of it by The Washington Monument was pretty spectacular too. Eva have you been to the big Air & Space Museum in Virginia?
the one in DC on the Mall?
I was there with my dad on an Honor flight
he knew the name of every plane there
at the airport...
That's cool Gemini. No Bich, it's another one they built in Virginia. Big enough to house entire planes and things like the space shuttle.
molly, i havent been to it, but i DID work the groundbreaking for it. :)
i got to hand a shovel to chief justice william renquist. (or "billy ren," as they would NOT let me call him...heh)
Oh wow Eva, I hope you got lots of pictures. How did you come to do that?
i used to work at the Air + Space museum.
im sure there are photos somewhere, but i dont have any
hi all

had a VERY frustrating meeting this morning with a student accused of academic misconduct
yah?
he was found responsible (guilty), lost again on appeal, but is still insisting that he is innocent and that my giving him an F is capricious :-(
hah. capricious? good word, even if he is being a dick
did you catch him cheating/copying on an exam? or did the F come from turning in a plagarized paper?
finding today considerably more challenging than yeasterday
frojo is what frozen yogurt is called in Jugoslavia

Good for you Harry.
hi molly!
sorry, had a student come in (who actually wants to major in physics and do the work!)
fo
hi harry, molly. welcome back, sue
I just bought my dad a 6" scope for his 80th birthday
hi hi
The student had been caught by the lab TA - he would come in, sign the attendance sheet, leave, then come back and ask other students for their data
hi harry and molly! Harry, sounds like great fun!
I'm tempted to keep it :)
lol, harry, I would be too!
ah. Silly of him. And in other news of smart people being stupid...just found out my cousin's hubby got caught using off-road diesel in his truck.
off-road diesel? I know people who make their own biodiesel - I think, at least here, as long as you don't sell it, it is legal
(or maybe they just don't tell anybody)
any1 have the right hand E for nbt?
no, the red-dye diesel they sell at fuel stations. it's for off-road use only, tractors and such, and it's way less expensive because it doesn't have the road taxes included.
ej5/22 and ej6/36
I had not idea JES
ah, that makes sense, jes, I'm sure they have it here too, for the farmers
so apparently, and i knew it was illegal but didn't know the groovy details until today, it's considered tax evasion to use it in road-licensed vehicles.
ty uu
thanks for the ej words
also the accompanying de words
ty for those jes :)
ooh, I missed the de ones!
nbs and half way!
got nbs with jes' 7, but one word from halfway :)

hi sue, Harry, jes
bichon
halfway also, but still 2 away from nbt, and 1 from nbs
hi bichon!
hi bichon
ok, just need the j for nbt
sue, are you still struggling with that student? Got one better. A Wesleyan student ate brownies with hallucinogenic mushrooms. He went nuts, stripped naked, tried to break into houses. He had to be tasered twice and shacled. Then when he was in his cell he was dong something nasty.
I only have one - je4/9
*doing not dong, but you get the idea
Let's hear it for wesleyan!
from shrooms? that sounds... a bit mo4...ah, active? than most of the shroomers i've seen
that's what I have Harry.
I have a jo4/9

did he know the brownies had the mushrooms in them?
well, that's the question. i suppose there will be a shroom investigation
:-)
This followed two students who let a sketchy looking guy [think dealer] into their dorm roo. Tied them up with duct tape and robbed them of everything valuable
also at Wesleyan? (I dated a guy or two from Wesleyan when I was an undergraduate at Mount Holyoke)
yes sue. Also at Wes.
ac 6?
don't have it, bichon
ac6 ends like composer Henry of The Pink Panther
Crap that's the five.

thanks, lbd!

That's right Sugrr. It's in a bunch of dictionaries, but Enbale won't allow afro.
Or Enable.
I think I like Enbale better
grr. li5 is not a word, it's an abbreviation of 2 words mooshed together.
ah yes, I pointed that out in the physics babblets :-)
although my colleagues and I do use it as though it were an actual word...
Enable doesn't like mooshed either, but I do.
yeah, we do too, but that doesn't make it a real word... i use non-words all the time, but i know they're non-words :)
case in point--mooshed is a great non-word :)

hi all, went to the longer, more difficult exercise class this am. and managed to make it through the whole class!
impressive, peri. I went for a short stroll around the neighborhood and managed to make it home ;)
:)
I was very pleased with myself. the class is called: Body Sculpt.
Wow. The name alone tells me I am even more impressed with your abilities. You go, girl!
pretty good for an old gal like me
can't believe I just used the word gal
but I did not want to use the word girl
How old are we talking? (I just checked your profile and didn't see age, but LOVE that recipe and will try it!)
70
but don
but don't feel that old and don't think I look that old and age is only a number
NO!!! Oh my gosh! (Bow, bow, in reverence and awe)
Peri = Buff...Good for you Peri!!
hope you like the recipe
thanks Molly. most of the women in the class looked younger than me but I did not care
Age is indeed a number. One my 'oldest' friends is what I tell her, "84 going on 28".
And not caring is the secret. You do it for you. : )

I am naturally slim but trying to get rid of a bid of a roll around my middle which no one seems to notice but me
good for her, ch1212. I am curious and want to continue to grow and to learn new things. It is when you stop growing and learn that you grow old.
(Thinking about the phrase 'naturally slim' and wondering what that would be like ... )
this grid is tough for me. but plodding along
Ditto.
Oooh! Just got a response from a genealogy question on a post. bbl!
Me too ch12, never been "naturally slim". I've always had to work hard to maintain a fit bod.
mm did not know we could latin up the medical co 4/6 :)
Hello. Been plodding along as is periwinkle's comment. Chilly and gray in the great northwest.
howdy stidmere
we were 85 f here yesterday and today we are 34f but sunny
Hi Gran Mere
morning :)
(((MRP)))
raining, pouring actually, on this day! (((crossy)))
Nice to see you mrpres, crossy and molly. Good weather on the grid anyway.
hi stid :) this grid is nicer than yesterday!
i am nearing half way pint and struggling
point
hello!
howdy viajes:)
I missed everyone yesterday! I had finished the grid by 1am
perils of being "flippers"
Mr. P! I mentioned your icon to my beloved when we watched a kids movie about owls the other day -- look my icon (I just changed it to show you) - might have to hit refresh.
I could not help but laugh!!
clue on ni6 pls?
slang for idiot
also biblical name in adam and eve liniage
(hitting refresh button again) (now thinking, 'nitwit'? nincompoop? mmmm....)
close...
but since it is 6 letters you can get rid of mincompoop lol
cain or abels son or grandson if you would rather
its in the list near the top as i recall
Ah! Got it. Did not know that was slang for idiot. (Making mental note to address childhood nickname with cousin ...)
lol
yes,if you were called ni6,it was not praise
Yeah ... just got that. (LOL)
i am getting one or 2 words every 10 min or so,so there may still be hope for crossy
not finding it still... looking at googled geneologies and there are no nis...
not finding it still... looking at googled geneologies and there are no nis...
not getting the ni6
One of these days Dr. G will figure out how to do smello-babble and he'll put bacon scented grids out. Then you'll be like a hound to the fox :)
ni+cons+ short length of metal
Well, my cousin told me ni6 meant 'swift' but clearly that's not right.
ni +double hump letter + *** and reel for fishing
got it thanks
there we go;)
def is a person who is an expert in hunting
it was well-hidden -- thank you!
The American Heritage Dictionary offers two distinct definitions of a ni6 -- either a hunter, or a person regarded as silly or foolish. The dictionary goes on to explain that the second meaning probably originated with the cartoon character Bugs Bunny. The wily Bugs used the term in its original sense to refer to dithering hunter Elmer Fudd, whom he called a "poor little Nimrod." Over time, however, the "hunter" meaning got dropped, and the "dithering" connotation stuck.
I should have kept looking for idiot; the biblical name thing threw me off :P never would have dreamed that's where it came form
*from
so it seems warner bros may have altered it from its intended form
VIa, the PB is loaded up with hot appetizers and an open bar, help yourself.
thats what i love about babble, something interesting each day
And pour Cross a drink too.
lol,bacon vodka for me please
sure -- what are you having crossy?
Ew, but okay.
or i will make us crossy,s perfect martini
tiy take a jumbo frosted martini glass and add 4 ounces of high end gin or vodka, if vodka use pearl onions,if gin use pimento olives..take a sterling silver cocktail sword and impale 3 olive or onions and gently float into the gin or vodka..now lean over the glass and whisper the name Antonio Benedetto Carpano and serve
so... what does the name do?
the name is the man who invented vermouth
ahhhh... I get it :P
Good Evening. Evidently crossy and my DH know each other; DH says the best martinis are gin and a glance at the vermouth bottle
It's an old story, going back, way back, that perfect Martini has no vermouth. Mention was made of that several times in the classic series MASH.
I keep really wanting to put in acorn
yeah, it didn't work for me either
I give up... hints for the acs please?
sorry, viajes, I just started myself
found the ac6... now just the 5...
ac 5/12 ends like the plant that everyone gives away late summer
wooo! fireworks for monkey words!
found it Nef -- thanks
WTG, viajes!!! YAY!!!!
congrats viajes
ty!
I had to think about that for a minute Nef. The green vegetable that grows and grows. : )
question for Crossy, if he's still there... why this obsession with tiny amounts of vermouth? why not just, you know, not use it?
Nef, how is your husband doing?
(the version I've heard of that is, "wave the bottle over the martini" but I think your version has even less...)
very well, Molly (I guess I should update my profile, huh?)
oh well, I guess I will never know... I'm going to *poof* myself into a book
hi again all!
hasta manana babbleverse!
hi and bye sue!
bye, via!
bye via. hi sue
Just checking in Nef. I know you have been busy taking care of him and wondered how things were going.
hi, nef! Glad to hear your husband is doing better!
Poor Via, she will never know that the classic recipe for a dry martini is a healthy shot of gin and a moment of silence for the vermouth. : )
even better molly,i just honor the copyright and say the mans name
my biggest problem is he doesn't think about consequences to being stupid. He's fallen several times and wasn't using a cane or anything at the time. I worry that he's going to mess up his back again (he's developed sciatica again
when I worked at Los Alamos, the people testing the weapons said the best thing was to strap a bottle of vermouth to the "device" and then hold your martini glass up in the air after the device went off (typical black humor)
nef, that was my fil,s biggest issue,he got "delicate" past the age of 70,but was too proud to use a cane.every time he would take a fall he would destroy himseld
oh, dear, nef, it can be hard to get them to be sensible, can't it?
i like it sue!
Ah, "he doesn't think about the consequences of being stupid". I could write a thesis on that about the male species.
I don't know how much is his male hormones telling him he's invincible or if his short term memory is that short!
easy molly cast not stone in glass houses
crossy uses his cane when the sciatica is really bad.have no choice darn right foot turns outward
Either way, he is lucky to have you there to make sure he's okay.
he is indeed nef
When he was in the hospital; I found and gave him the perfect get well card. The front says "If you'd just DO what I TELL you I wouldn't have to be so BOSSY!" -Addison Graves, age 4"
rofl, Nef!
He thought we should frame it; but he hasn't done that yet. I'm going to have to find a frame before I go on vacation with my sisters on Saturday for a week!
*suspicious mama look* what did dh do this time? *goes to look back in chat*
hi stid!
I've told him I can't go if he won't behave....
hey sue! did you like my neutrino poem?
I did, stid! Very nice!
A whole week's vacation, Nef? that sounds like a really nice idea!
*beams at praise*
and then today it's mhos...
stid, among other things, he went out the back door and slipped on the steps and fell and broke our palstic window box herb garden; he fell directly on his surgery site breaking the window box.
Hi everyone. Just got back from DC, visiting my son. Fun trip!!
been reading the physics babblets, I see :-)
oh, that man! *stern mama look with stomp feet*
hey trentsnana
hi, nana! Good to see you!
LOL yes! it was fun to realize how many I really did know.
You, too.
howdy trents nana
He tried to use an axe to "help" the guy taking out a stump in the front yard; lost his balance and fell over the wheelbarrow; etc, etc,
Is it you, uusue, that lives in DC?
Can't remember.
How is Crossy tonight?
no, I'm in northern Illinois, nana
Nef!! I'm so glad you are taking a break and going away with your sisters. : )
Oh, okay. There is someone on here that lives in DC and is remodeling her house.
*wraps Nef-dh in bubble wrap, seals with duct tape and puts him down in a comfy chair with foot rest higher than his waist*
oh, that's jmc, nana
seain is in dc, and jmc is near dc, I think trentsnana
That's all I remember about her.
That's JMC, TNana.
I SO need a break. I hope this week off will help; but it won't if I have to worry the whole time
not bad at all trentsnana and how is your lovely self?
Maybe it's jmc
you're thinking of jmc if remodling is involved! LOL
A little tired, but great.
TNana, did you get that, from all the comments? : P
Nef: I am SURE he will be okay while you are going. Who is going to check in with him to be sure he's eating?
Yup
My chat is slow, so I guessed before I was actually told, I think.
I threatened to duct tape him to the chair before I leave; but who knows what he'd do to get out! ;-)
Nef, don't you dare worry. You have earned this break, take it, and have a great time.
*quietly superglues dh posterior to chair cushion*
oh! there's a grid! LOL how is it? worth starting?
Not really - lol
it starts out ok, stid, but gets tricky quickly
and with that I am off to watch TV and grade exams - see you all later!
later sue!
hm. maybe I will give this one a miss. I am pretty tired today.
I'll just chat in between other tasks. Back later!
tnana; did you see the space shuttle; or were you gone by then?
oh there's a trojan horse in the grid
Nef, have a great time with the girls and get some well deserved rest.
thanks, Molly.
