Hello sprite/ruby!
hi jilli :) ruby is getting dressed etc.
thanks all
you guys going out and partying? :)
pretty early for that, rbud!
LOL absolutely! Chatting like crazy, playing scrabble, making jam, and having a marvelous time. All 3 of us.
What time is it, sprite? I know it's about 8 am in London
one hour later here. 9 am .
jilli, do you happen to have the link for downloading the babble expert?
I think it's in my profile...

byebye all
morning all - you all ok?
well, I am... spent the last couple of days working on window and door trim in the new room. oh, and baseboards. Crooked house, lol, lotsa fun. :)
tell me about it - we were going to get the internal doors replaced but the man said that every single would be a special order as none of them were the same size
so we didn't bother - might do if we win the lottery
must go again - off to the docs for some routine blood tests
well, later then - have a good one. :)
gosh, all different sized doors, sounds like our place - we picked most of ours out of spring cleanup piles. got kitchen cabinets coming from the in-laws old house, too. salvage - it's a way of life, haha! :P
i do love my compound mitre saw, was a Valentine's day present some years back.
hi all
help with A in 4th column please
af6/30
Hi Haz. Pretty jubilee table.
Hello, Molly. Thanks, it was fun to do.

It's a weird word.

hi all

Haz, I did not get the af6
Hint: there is a clue in what Haz just said : D

sounds like you will be well cared for
hello again. Is anybody still here?
yeah, well. have picked my surgeon, his assistant, the scrub nurse, and the theatre technician. recovery, not sure. lol. when my supervisor checked the allocation sheet, i was still on for the shift. can you picture it? me , recovering myself, writing down the obs, and then calling the ward when i figured i was ready to go. lol

Hello Dear Crossy!

okay, love you all. but have come home from a shift....well, 32 patients from 3 theatres since 1:30pm is a tad too much....
OK dear! Get some rest!
(((ruby,car)))
((sending Rose some "shuteye) plus a big hug!
and it is now time for crossy,s tidbit of the day!!!
The word "upset" came to mean "a surprise outcome" when a horse named Upset was the first to ever beat the legendary Man O' War.
car, and ruby, am off to bed...prima donna surgeons was way beyond my scope of practice toight.
Cool!
<-- loves tidbits, probably oats!

Good night grannyrose! You are a blessing to those you heal and to all of us here in Babble Land. Sleep well.
AMEN! car.

I can tell you that no matter how many times you enter it...ANNOY is not in the grid!
... and that is annoying
I'm still trying it and hello DOSE
... don't bother ... I've tried in nine or ten times
... morning all
Hi doseffing!
howdy dose
Good day to all.
Hello Darling!!!!
*looking around to find Darling*
assy is SO a word! If that dress doesn't fit right..it makes me look "assy"!
That would be you!
Haha, Car.
Car, are your boys done with school? What are your plans for the summer?
YES! They are done for the summer! Just a few plans...otherwise just relax...no alarms...see what the day brings!
Yay!
We have VBS at the end of July for a week. Zack wants to take a week of Archery. Dylan wants to do a week of art camp. And we are looking at two overnight trips...one to the Alpine slides in North Conway, NH and the other is a dino dig in Connecticut!

Hi Crossy

At*** and Cleopatra?
Hello everyone
atony
Good morning Molly! Very nice to "see" you! TY!
hillbiyy slang perhaps for scared
And thank you Lynxx!
And special thanks to Scrabs!
And it's Free Clue Friday!!
I tried that af without the d at the end....
Drop the second e
Lynxxx...when I first read your clue, I saw AL*** and Chipmunks!
TY to all! Got them both.
<---Thinks Car needs some "grown up time"
You are correct, Ma'am!
crossy just had to give kitten a time out lol
=^..^= why, Daddy, why?
I forget his name. Amos?
yup
because he was playing so hard with the 3 year old cat that his tongue was hanging out and his eyes were starting to roll around in his head,so some nice quiet time and a big dish of water and a nap for amos
Silly boy, doesn't know when to rest.
=^oo^= is this more accurate then?
lol
OK... I am on a short schedule today. I wish you all a VERY good day! Enjoy it! {{hugs}} to all!
Before I go...what are the stats for the 7?
amos discovered the aquarium channel last night
tc car
Bye Car
Good kitty!
Is their really an aquarium channel?
there is channel 205 rogers cable
*there* Caffeine is entering brain now.
and a fireplace channel
and a channel that shows a chicken slowly roasting on a spit
i have asked about a bacon channel, but am still waiting for a reply
... is that really a channel? I thought it was just a silly Swiss Chalet commercial ...
it is
you can watch it cooking for hours if you wish
... if I have to pay for it I'd rather eat it ...
kitty was terrorizing the 6 year old cat so we put the aquariu, channel on for a hour or so
lol,it comes with the package,so may as well get some use out of it as a kitty sitter
Time to get ready for a day of paddling on Hemlock Lake.
was 95f yesterday but today is an amazing bright and sunny 66f:))
picked a good day scrabby
... Have a Gennesee while you're at it Scrabbler ...
this day is ferfect for anything.think the mrs and i will go for a hike on the mtn
perfect
We'll have temp of 78 F and partly sunny. We could go up to Oak Orchard River but then we have to arrange and pay for a shuttle. I prefer a workout on a lake.
We'll be near the Genesee River.
as would i
A hike would be great too.
i am currently between canoes/kayaks :(
What do you mean?
i am investigating the sailing canoes
means i am without a vessel atm
but these sailing canoes look real interesting
like the old native outrigger canoes with a single small sail and tiny rudder
... as with all combination things ... my fear would be it's neither a good sail nor a good canoe ...
well, that is what test drive are for:))
... wise
pound that thing across 30 miles of georgian bay and i will soon haves it,s measure
You can buy a sail to attach to a kayak.
indeed,that is another option
i need more leg room of late though scrabby,my circulation has gotten very bad so i am back to canoes and such
good morning all and how many words today and thanks
175
... 175
... not a difficult one
Buy a Hornbeck 10 or 12 foot canoe. I got a 10 footer last summer--Kevlar, 14 pounds! The last boat I'll ever need. Heaven.
sounds nice:)
I think the website is hornbeckboats.com. The BEST price for an ultralight canoe. A hybrid kayak actually as you sit on the bottom and use a double-ended paddle.
wish you were up here scrabby,we could go out on the bay near craiglethe and i could show you the old wrecks from the mid 1800,s just below the surface
ty for the site scrabby
Peter Hornbeck grew up near me, moved to the Adirondacks 40 yrs ago and created ultralight canoes that are easy to transport and portage.
I would like to visit you someday, Crossy.A Georgian Bay paddle would be special.
lol, cute little canoes on that site:)
The 10-footer tracks very well and moves quickly so I felt no need to get the 12-footer.
i think the 17 would be a better choice here
My youngest sister and a friend also got the same boat.
Then you and Elegant can go for a ride.
she wants her own kayak
Get her the 10-footer.
master of her own destiny, pilot of her course and all that
Then she will feel autonomous with an ultralight canoe.
Hornbeck's place is a 5 hr drive from Buffalo, but I believe they ship too. Worth every penny to not break your back or blow out a hernia.
lol, indeed i have portaged enough old cedar strip canoes to understand
The 9-foot carbon fusion Blackjack weighs just 11 pounds. I met a woman last year, during a portage, with that boat and she convinced me to get a Hornbeck.
11 pounds..that is wild
I can lift and hold my canoe with one finger.
9 feet-11 pounds..i would send it right to the bottom i am sure lol
It won't sink and I don't think you would either.
hehe
Alright, I must shower and shave--I love being aero- and hydrodynamic!
check this out before you go
http://outriggersailingcanoes.blogspot .ca/
this is what i am looking at
Cool ride, I bet, but heavy, I bet.
OK, I must get ready now. Enjoy the day, my friend.
tc scrabby
hello everyone :)
Good Morning Everybody. How are you all this fine day?
brb, need to wake DH so he's ready for PT in an hour.
howdy annie,nef:)
hi crossy
hi crossy and nef :)
i am sorry, there cannot be this many h words in this grid:(
You know who hasnt been in here in a while..dorens
yep, there are :(
those S's make the H's easier, crossy.
Dorens was here last night. She's visiting her grands.
thanks molly, was wondering about dorens. glad all is okay and hi
I've seen her at different times, Annie, but not sure if it was here or on FB. (Haven't interacted with her in a while though)
Hi Annie
Im not a facebook person
my daughter says when she visits she will open an account for me but I am not keen on it
Annie, I opened an account to see family pictures and that is the only reason I go there. I don't get the appeal.
I enjoy playing words with friends with my various relatives and a few friends; then a bit of chatting with others. Otherwise a I read more than post over there.
neither do I.
afternoon ladies - Facebook is okay - you only need to invite folks you know and I am bad on it as i tend to ignore most if it
apologies to the men - been face booking my motivation group on FB and we're all female
I have a large family; so I can see which of my cousins is now a grandparent and so on. But I don't like posting a lot of my other stuff there.
np kass,am a 20 year married man,the mrs makes sure i have all the motivation i need...if i want it or not! lol
we started it in work - its to get us to exercise and lose weight = which is fine but at times I want a huge cream doughnut and a large glass of beer
One of my Aunts is 84 now; I know she goes on there daily to read our posts but I don't think she's ever posted there herself (her 76 y/o sister told me that). It keeps her in touch with family happenings. I think it's pretty neat that she does that
fireworks, anyone like a clue before I head out?
(I only have the 2 Aunts left out of 15 siblings for my parents
YAY, Annie!! WTG!!!
Well done Annie
congrats annie! I guess that means that the counts are correct for the H & S?
as I told crossy, yep they are :(
sorry, I pop in and out of chat and don't backtrack... my bad.
didnt mean it that way, was just joking around, ame
~:oP
still troublesome to hear... (counts) *sigh* LOL!
hash
don't add a y, doesn't work...
Mr. Ledger is one
Wow, it really is Free Clue Friday : P
sorry! but there's a free one (as I head off to PB with chocolate)
thanks annie! ~:o)
You would think if you can have a mashy in golf you could have a ha4y.
I think it is spelled mashie, Molly
(And yes, I know it's spelled differntly)
Snap Annie : )
and then we have h and expression of lament in Yiddish (plural)
same for the dog's name... (ie not y)
tr**** works
as does fl****
thanks ame.
Put the "plural" letter in front of Mr. Ledger
ty!
It was 81 degrees this morning at 8 am.
oh dear. I had to Google Mr. Ledger since I didn't recognize the name. (my age is showing again...)
lol nef - i just finished doing the same thing!
Still hot here too Annie. Looking for thunderstorms later in the day.
Nef, It was between Mr. Ledger and *****cliff
Annie, you should have used the candy bar. Although my Canadian husband had never heard of them.
now I would have recognized that 2nd one, Annie! :-)
I love that candy
thrash
Re: the weather, we are finally having a couple of nice days in a row. We've had way too much rain here in MN this past 2 months
crud - sorry!
They call them Crispy Crunch or something.
Bless you Pastor. Go forth and sin no more. : )
err, *these* (apologies to the grammar police)
wish you were here annie, was 95 yesterday but is and amazing 68f and sun today with a gentle breeze coming off the bay
;->
ty pastor,was one i needed
well, i'm supposed to be helping people!
crossy , sounds heavenly and would you serve one of your famous breakfasts also
and you are doing a fine job:))
put a little extra in the plate this week, then! lol!
nope, breffast is on me annie, some nice western omlettes with mushrooms, diced sweet valencia onions and diced hickory smoked honey ham on texas toast with shredded apple wood smoked cheddar
crossy, my mouth is watering
:)
okay, I need to get on with my day here. BBL. Happy Babbling Everybody.

Past tense of Nan, that's funny.
what is pt of nan?
af6?
oh, I hope not!
That is how Cos mistakenly clued na4. He meant plural, not past tense.
a + word for scared of + consonant
I have issues with the OF words.
oh. ty molly.
fireworks. must go take nap before I perform (piano duo) tonight.
YAY mixi and enjoy tonight!
hey all
does that comment mean they are not real words, molly?
of 4-5?
hi stid :)
not seeing the 7
hi again. Was here about an hour ago and fell asleep, so went and took a short nap!I don't know why, but I can't sleep past 5:30- 6 AM lately.
hey nef and nan
Then I get tired in the afternoon. Very odd; afternoons are my most productive time of day
hi stid!
I don't have the of 7, sorry nan
oh -- the 7 is an of?
ea7...you can hear me if you are within ea7
ty molly
that gave me nbs
sorry nan, thought I saw of 7 in the chog, but went back and they were cluing an AF 6. *sigh* thanks molly
: )
my normal productive time in morning, nef -- but I didn't sleep well last night (surprise! now that school is out the high school kids call at ALL hours of the day), so am dragging today.
My normal productive time is between 9:58 and 10:03 A.M.
all hours of the day; or all hours of the night?
all hours of the 24-hour clock *sigh* though, fortunately, most of them DO sleep until noon! LOL
LOl kaplan!
No, really!
I'll bet you get a lot done in those 5 minutes, Kap! ;-)
Stuck on ar5/12, can I get a clue, please?
ar + what you wear on your head
got it thanks
thanks again molly
it goes the wrong way in the grid. Thanks, Molly, I hadn't seen that before so hadn't tried it
If psychotherapy worked like chiropractic, all I would have to do is lean on people's brains and pudsh real hard.
Wouldn't that be loverly
CRACK! Cured!
Wouldn't that be electroshock?
I only wish it would work that way, Kap. It would make life easier for many many people
I could use that .. Somebody give my brain an adjustment ..
YES! I got the left column gray! *pleased mama look* now to get lunch and finish cataloging books for today. I have some heavy-lifting reading this afternoon. Journals I didn't have the energy to peruse during the school year! *poof*
No, ect is more ZAP than CRACK

Remember them?
Yes, they lived next door to Tony The Tiger.

If you don't already know Henri, the exis, youial cat, you ought to. www.youtube.com/watch?v=0M7ibPk37_U
why don't they make commercials like this anymore? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6TIsxT drCU
Oh dear- I need to go and have a you-tube commercials orgy.
I know you are quiet because you are watching Henri.
Or you are snap crackle popping.
I love how they throw a cup of sugar on the cereal in that commercial.
<---Not a cat person (I know, grounds for dismissal from Babble)
In addition to the sugar that's already there.
It's really ok to not be a cat person and watch this. Do yre like Sartre?
Oui
Then you may appreciate this. Go on...
*!* ta da *!* - mostly words I should have found sans list
no excuse not to go back to my quilting now!
so long....
Kap, I had a phone call, so just watched that commercial now. It lasted a whole minute! Now-a-days commercials are 15 seconds (usually) to 30 seconds long. Do we ever wonder why our kids have short attention spans?
(and I loved Henri...; going to watch his other ones too now0
Kids? How about adults? I know plenty with the attention span of a flea.
very true, Molly. But *we* (adults) are distracted by Important things! (Or as my daughter says; "Oh! pretty shiney things!!!"
okay, anyone have any idea on why office chairs start sinking without the person monkying with the seat gatch? DH's chair startted sinking on its' own when he's sitting in it and he wants to go out and buy a new one. *I* think that there is something we can adjust to make it stop doing that. Who's right? How do I fix it?
<---Loves sparkly things
You have to make sure the adjuster lever is in the locked position. It varies from chair to chair.
And if the adjuster lever is broken, you do have to get a new one.
hello folks, could i get a clue for the 7?
ea7/32, combo word about sound
thanks nef!
thanks, Molly. I'm googling how to fix it now (his chair is barely 2 years old and was almost $200
Wow! That much for an office chair?
tadone!! finito!
YAY, lbd! WTG!!!!
Molly, it's more like an executive chair than a steno chair. It has arms and a high back with good back support, etc.
I found a quick fox and also info about getting a new cylinder and changing that out (new cylinders cost a lot according to the source I read).
I want one
All the office chairs we have are like that but they didn't cost that much. It must be comfortable.
Because of his balance problems and the fact he's a husky guy; I wanted a good chair for him. The quick fix involves cutting up an old yardstick and duct taping it in place. I'll probably do that til I decide about buying a new cylinder! :-)
BBS, gotta go find an old yardstick!
howdy again everyone:) back for a few more:)
nef, there are one or more rubber or neoprene rubber baffle in the hydraulic cylinder which allow the flid to move and raise or lower the chair.over time the baffles like the ones in car shock absorbers become less effective and allow the fluid to escape back into the firs chamer
unless it is a real expensive chair, the cylinder will cost more than just buying new
chamber
That's what I read, crossy. I haven't found the brand name of the chair yet (I suppose I'll have to go through the big 3 ring binder we have for warranties and instructions books and find it); but doing the quick fix should help for now.
now i could be wrong and if a cylinder is 30-40 dollars it may be worth a swop out
my chair did that cause my son does not "sit" in it he lands or jumps into it
I'm thinking that 5 pieces (about 5 inches long) of a yardstick that's 1/8 inch thick tightly duct-taped around the round leg above the cylinder should be okay for a while until I figure out the details on replacing the cylinder vs. buying another chair
(at least I HOPE that will do for now!)
it will def be a quick fix
if you give me the make and model i will help you hunt for a cylinder if you like
got it for you nef.....
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B007Q2QWLG/re f=asc_df_B007Q2QWLG2066682?smid=AQASJ9 CKUP57G&tag=dealtmp760501-20&linkCode= asn&creative=395105&creativeASIN=B007Q 2QWLG
i will tiny url that if you have problems with it
that is a nice universal replacement cylinder
there's also advise on drilling through the cylinder and putting a nut and bolt through it; but that's too much work
http://tinyurl.com/76u8rnp
check that out
thanks, crossy!
and free shipping for you
That's probably going to be perfect. I'll try and find the chair info first before I order that. DH is pleased as punch that I found a quick fix
very nice:)
i see that DH has had knee work.does he land hard in the chair when sitting and is he a hefty fella like crossy?
actually i prefer husky:) aroooo
he's around 240- 250 lbs but normally doesn't "fall" in a chair --unless he loses his balance.
same weight as crossy,i am 6 ft 2 in and 250
he's only 5 ft 10"
So he's huskier than you. And probably harder to lift off the floor once he's down! :-/
lol,i think if we go timberrrrrr we would both be tough to get off the floor hehe
if you two like walking or hiking,i have the perfect present for you mr(my wife got it for me cause we like to hike and my bursistis makes it tough to crouch and uncrouch.....
http://tinyurl.com/76u8rnp
thing goes everywhere with me now
there are diff heights, you can order one for yerself as well
but anyways i am rambling now and will be shush
http://www.canescanada.com/tamarak-hik ing-stick
that is the hiking stick url
no, crossy. You aren't rambling. DH was blocking my way to the computer after I got a phone call from our dtr.
lol
I was going to tell you I found it odd you walk around with a chair cylinder... ;-)
lol check the last link i gave u
so many nice walking sticks;)
i either have to use these kness or lose them the dr said
you posted that walking stick the other day. I like it. DH's walking stick is about 5 ft 5" tall and very plain; but right now he's using his walker for balance rather than his walking stick or a cane
DH had PT this AM and he's feeling that his legs got tired there. The therapist told him to do his exercises AT HOME too today; DH doesn't Listen when *I* tell him that!
sorry,i forgot i posted it already:)
lol,why on earth would we listen to our wives?? lol
no; you were showing it off to someone else; not me in particular.
WHY listen to your wives? Because if you don't we will make life more miserable for you! ;-)
mmm..this is very true....
I got my DH a get well card when he had his surgeries in Feb that says "If you'd just DO what I TELL you I wouldn't have to be so Bo5/18! He's put it up on the mantle; but Obviously doesn't read it often enough
my mrs says my training is still undergoing
19 years this oct first
ongoing*
(That's a Leanin' Tree card; the quote is from a 4 year old girl.
We're going on 38 years, crossy. So twice as long as you...
hi all, what is the difference between a walking and a cane?
yaa for nef and dh!
length is the difference
go to that site i posted peri and you will see many varieties
http://www.canescanada.com/tamarak-hik ing-stick
a walking stick cause of its longer length is handing when walking over uneven ground or climbing hills while hiking
you put your hand through the lanyard on a walking stick and use it that way while gripping the top portion of the shaft, with a cane, you lean directly on the top for support
a cane should come up to where you bend your wrist, Peri. It's made to help support your weight. A walking stick (which I use when needed) is a bit longer (I adjust mine to just below my elbow joint) and is used by swinging out in front of you and kind of forces better posture. A and then the walking stick that crossy uses is used more for balance
and to get up from a crouch!! tougher these days
(actually, that site says that crossy has a hiking stick
ok
i think of a walking.hiking stick as the same and canes in a diff catagory
fo6 pls
Like the womb position, but add an extra vowel
ty Molls
Got any gin left Peri? It's very geriatric in here.
I used to work on a Rehab floor and I see many people walking around in public with canes that are much too short for them
yes I have gin left
Phantom OB-GYN.
what does gin have to do with geriatric tho?
Woo hoo!
lol, drink you under the table molls and use my walking stick to lever you into bed
No, I meant the conversation is geriatric.
oh, ok
Geriatric? Again?
lol @ geriatric..just a big galoot who abused his kness
And why is that?
isn't that the truth about people having canes that are too short? It's another one of my personal gripes against "modern" medicine... in the old days, we'd measure people for assistive devices. <hobbling over to my corner again....>
how you you measure for canes? by the arm length i gather?
so that i can rest the palm of the hand on top without hunching over would make sense
I just told you, crossy. A cane should come up to when a persons' wrist joint is when they are standing up.
You know that story- I think it was Saki- about the dwarf whose archenemy was trying to freak out bu chopping a half inch off his cane every day-
so he would think he was growing and no longer employable
and so committed suicide.
Cheerful little tale- about a page long.
never heard it before, Kap. But sounds interesting (and devious)
It's one of those "short short" stories.
want to really freak the dwarf out, when he is hunched right over, then start adding an inch for a while
Speaking of, do you know the Saki story where the girl tells a nervous visitor about the hunting party...
It's worth looking up- wait I'll research.
Ah, yeah- "The Open Window"- H.H. Munroe (Saki)
Great story- only I didn't get it for a long time.
thanks, Kap!
What?
(I love learning stuff here! Every day someone tells something I've never heard of before...)

For heaven's sake.
great thing about babble, you never know what nugget of new info you will come away with on any given day

Kap, THAT doll would Never have crossed my doorstep (and never did)!) if I'd ever heard or seen it before!
Uses 3 consonants to start with Peri.

sorry peri. I don't have it
Very sick, huh Nef? Remember that whole generation of girls got into the drug scene later. Wonder why.

Hello Jes.
howdy jes
hi jes
10, bb after dinner
bye, peri
how goes the battle?
nbt
I have 70 words left; but that's been with frequent interruptions and too much chatting. :-/
too much chatting? is there such a thing?
82 left here
No such thing Jes. This game would be a snooze fest without the chat.
but I get distracted by it and forget toput in words....
*Quietly goes to sit in the PB recliner so as not to distract Nef*
while crossy streaks across the chog...fwappa...fwappa...FWAPPA!
now that that is out of the way,i see that the sun is now over the yard arm here and it may be time for a crossy style martini
Yardarm, that would be a good Babble word.
bruce is discussing the cooking and eating of testicles. bruce2 is looking uncomfortable at this.
good afternoon, all!
(carefully staying out of the discussion of the cooking and eating of testicles)
hi sue :)
I don't blame Bruce2 one bit.
found the 7! nbs :)
yay jes!
and hi jes and molly!
I think they've moved on to sausage and corn muffins and desserts. :)
reindeer testes are done when the boilked sac pops under gentle pressure of the fingernail
same with prarie oysters i would imagine
we could serve it with carlees avacado dip:)
The recipe for lamb apparently consisted of take lamb testicles, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and grill them.
not a very complicated recipe, but bruce2 vetoed it anyway.
i imagaine grilling would also work
(((jes))) hey all!
howdy stidmama
would work with ka-bobs also i am sure
hi stiddy :)
SUE -- did you see Bugsaw's invitation on fb? Are you going to wander out this way this summer? I think I should fill out the forms to replace my passport (since it is STILL not found despite going through boxes).
when you lose a passport, always report it.a valid canadian passport is worth a lot of money on the black market as are american ones i am sure
It was lost in our home, cross...
someone could be runnign drugs using your name stidmama
ahh ok then
maybe the turtle stole it, and sold it on the black market for fresh fish?
possibly, cross -- but I doubt it.
do not laugh jes,a passport that is valid can fetch big buxs
could be the turtle, he's sneaky.
lots of fish then :)
but yes..the turtle is using it..:)
BUT I will report it now, and get a replacement since I haven't been able to find it after looking. It is likely it fell into the garbage. many many months ago. Very frustrating.
I am going to reform English spelling and add a few wurds to the grid: foto, foton...
oh, and coton, cotony, cotonny *wicked speller grin*
hahhah, but stid, Enable and English have only some degree of overlap, they are not the same. Even if you change English the grid won't take the new words...
coton is a word, it's a dog breed. i think it's French and means cotton, or cottony
I have always wondered about males who will eat testicles. It seems a betrayal of gender.
*determined mama look* hmph.
coton is also how it is spelled in Spanish... would be logical to include it as a variant spelling. enable does more strange inclusions!

go jes go! down to 31 here, will get one more then go read.

should I hold my breath now?
7
no, i wouldn't recommend it, stid. just getting to the hard stuff now.
af6?
oh, okay... I got my next word, and will be going to read. First topic: "Risks, Rewards, and Responsibilities of Using New Literacies in Middle Grades" should be good.
scared, alternate spelling, jes
see you later! *poof*
seriously? case in point in discussion about English v Enable!
hello again. Had to go off and cook (DH wanted to use the OVEN today! I keep telling him that ovens should be used in winter....
Hi Jes and Nef...I assume it is very hot there Nef?
Yes Nef, there is a reason we have grills.
it's over 80, lynxxx. Not unbearable; but why heat things up more? (I'm not a fan of ovens anyway; had one once blow up on me).
i'm with you on this, molly. summer cooking goes outside :)

grills, crockpots, and woks are very useful in the summertime.

Hi Red
hi red. (nice start! ;-)
Hi Nef. Saw the not so good news about your Hubbys back. How is everyone doing???? Hello Molly!
we're doing okay, red. DH is tapering off steroids; yesterday and today weren't too bad (other than he keeps finding stuff for me to do)
nice the honey do list...
LOL! Yep! :-)
I'm trying to get through the gird today; but he keeps finding stuff that I need to do to make him happy. (I had to take him to the wild bird store for bird seed; (I still have to take it out of the car before he does.... and I need to go check on what he's doing ASAP because the garage door just opened
See you nef!
Man, Nef is like the Energizer Bunny
I am the opposite of that bunny.
I think most of us feel that way.
I guess I "get to garden" now. BBL. (And no, I'm not that ambitious. But I now know where the kids got their hyperactivity.
I might get this grid done before midnight -if I'm lucky. :-)<poof>
*Wonders if Nef ever relaxes*
assy - not found in dictionary? means : to be an ass

af6/30 is british way of saying to be scared Shirlockc
a + word that means a feeling of fright + consonant
huh, i would have thought -ed at the end instead of just the one consonant, but thx molly
I know, it's a weird word.

My favorite word in this grid is fr5/16. It means bug poop.

Hello anyone or all.
hi red. I'm flipping between FB (WWF) and here
Need help?
(I have 43 left to find here.)
hi red and nef!
hi sue.
72 left for me...
I'm at the point I'm trying words that aren't there....
oooh I am too flipping, plus the olympic trials are on tv so I am glued.
my massage therapist is there, and I am rather a bit jealous.
working or visiting or competing?
She is working, She is there for Tyson, Dee Dee trotter, Sanya Richards David Oliver, etc.
WOW! that's pretty cool
I have to admit jealousy. I have seen all these guys train up but...the excitement there...
you've seen them train? Now I'm jealous of you (so much so, I wrote that in the wrong box!)
Yes, I tease her that her hands have touched the athletes, and then me, why dont they spread speed...
red, you're lucky to be running anyway....
I am indeed. Tyson is my Hip buddy, I just dont get how we had the same surgery, and now he's in the Olympic trials, and I am...
were you in training too?
Ha ha ha! He is the fastest man int he world currently...
I'm in training, but only for local amateur stuff.
so you should be proud of that.
hello dear friends.
hi trif.
I think I am just green with jealousy, there are some athletes I'd like to meet.
(and can you tell I'm ot aware of much about sports right now? I'll be watching the Olympics, but not seeing the trials
Hi Trifi! How are you doing these days?
LOTS of much needed thunder and rain today = thank goodness!
I am very happy nef. Being in love agrees with me, I think
LOTS of much needed thunder and rain today = thank goodness!
how are you all doing?
Yay for you, Trifi! :-D
I'm hanging in there. (That's as good as it gets right now. DH needs more surgery and is on steroids for an MS flare up; but otherwise we're okay
wow, that is a lot to have on your plate! I am glad you are managing with a sense of humor intact. It's critical!!!
nice that you are in love trif and Nef, you are one patient woman.
very true. Re: the love thing; I'm watching my mid-60's best friend going through the same thing and it's just good to be around! Falling in love is pretty cool....
I waited for Torgone as long as I could, but, when it became obvious he wouldn't be moving to massachusetts anytime soon I had to grieve and find a local boy
it surely doesn't suck, nef!
LOL! Poor Togone; it's his loss! ;-)
LOLOL
my heart still belongs to my Torgone - now and forever I have his back!
sniff, sniff... that's so moving trif...
truth be told, he's a sweetie and I don't blame you ... But I'm glad you found a local boy too
thanks mab!
hi mab
hi nef, all.
how is my home town, nef
thanks all. I am afraid I am much more tired than I realized, or I would not have started. love to all, but I am hitting the sheets. lots of love, E
good night trif.

hi all
hi jmc. had a cocktail, did you?
working on my second bottle of champagne
celebrating?
no . . . it is all i had in my house
you deserve it. it seems like you've been working awfully hard lately.
and even if not i'm sure you deserve it
i wish . . . seems to me that i have been looking awfully ha** at work and not doing it
*opens the pb door for mad*

sorry, mab; I'd drifted off for a bit. I didn't know you were from here...
oh yes, we discussed Lucia's a long time ago.
zzzzzzzzzzzz
don't fall asleep, jmc! I want to ask you about the cartoon you were thinking about the other night
now I remember, mab
awww. isn't that cute? she's fallen asleep at the keyboard with a bottle of booze in her arms.
huh? *looks up with a dazed look*
hey that is high class booze to you
domestic or otherwise?
let me look
the second bottle is chandon from california
technically, only the fizzy stuff that comes from that region of France can be called champaigne
what did you want to know nef?
yes yes let them sue me
it aint prosecco
allother champagne like beverages should be called sparkling wines.
did you use that idea that I told you about? The statue in Norway
ah . . . no not yet. . . it is inmy list but first i need a website
i know an extremely talented graphic artist who designs web sites.
if you need
okay. Does that statue seem to be the idea you were thinking of (or rather, is that a good starting point?)
nice mab i am going for a fairly talented guy who is doing it for free. . .
ah. excellent price.
free is always good. :-)
it is a good starting point nef . . . it follows the freedom of association isse
especially if free has talent
but soon i may have to break down and pay some one
he did my webpage for the center and i like his work
true.
but i need a webpage . . .there are people ready to donate
my friend does pro bono work sometimes. she's actually more or less retired and painting now.
WOW there was a big bang outside my house!
what do you think it was?
what was it jmc?
no clue but not an explosion so i will stay inside
maybe something at the tv station next block
remember when d.c. was the murder capital of the nation? those were the days.
haha long time ago. . . tyvm
do you have a storm going on now, jmc?
no we had a terrible one earlier. . . couldn't see through the rain!
