took one semester of latin after school -- in high school -- amazing how that one semester has helped me
got all that fixed and then a part went out on a/c (day it was almost 100)
it has been really warm... getting a break for a few days, then ghastly hot again

We're still at home -- fire has tripled to over 15000 acres. Wind all over the place --- possible thunderstorms (not likely though) which is not what we need. Evac zones still too close but we're ok.

yes they're open. the ones on the north side is out of gas due to the trucks not being able to deliver

Trucks not being able to deliver because of weather and natural disasters is why they always recommend you fill your tank when preparing.

thats fun - we still tent camp too, although my age is catching up to me sleeping on the ground even with the self inflating pads
i use an aeromattress, but Coleman makes some lovely double-height air mattresses.
we have been through many different air mattresses and I cant tell you how many times over the years I have found myself flat on the ground in the morning
then we went to egg crate foam - that was ok but not thick enough. We now have 2 inch self inflating pads....not bad as long are you are not on an incline because your sleeping bad slides right off.
maybe you're rough on them river..lol
gotta to have some fun ruru...
most of our camping is at remote sites so there is very little even ground unlike a formal campground site
i think i've only once camped at a formal campground site.
watch the fire if u have a pit or something ;) u wouldnt want what we'e going thru
our favorite place is on an island in northern Maine....very beautiful....right on the water.....listen to the loons at night....we are very careful with our campfires

okay, will post this here also for those who are not my facebook acquaintances: Just had a call from a person saying that our computers that run Windows have been having trouble. I knew instantly that it was a scam, because only one of the computers in our home (we have several) runs Windows. The person had an accent that sounded like he came originally from the Indian subcontinent. NOTE: NO company cold-calls people to "help" them with their computers!!!! If you get a call like this, under no circumstance should you give them any information about yourself, your computers, or, heavens forbid, bank information. When I asked who he worked for (which he had given the name of an organization but I didn't catch it), he hung up on me. ONE MORE TIME: BE ALERT!
