it was my mistake, I got mixed up with the gang being here, my partner had said she wouldn't be available
I didn't know about that -- who was the no-show?
Ah, I see. Yes, nice of Paul.
he's such a sweet guy
He is.
I am
lol, yes ru, you are
I just KNEW you'd rise to that bait, ruru.
Ruru, my grandcousin is keen on a get-together in San Francisco.
omg.. that would be so much fun jilli
I'm game
Great -- will do some emailing.
did he say what part of town he lives in?
Yes -- SoMa.
He's invited me to his Google+ circle.
oh great.. easy to get to
He'll find me a cheap place tostay.
I can help with that
He and his fiancee's place is too small.
somewhere nice and safe
no problem.. I'll pick up the hotel
We'll have to have a 3-way chat somehow.
no problem.. I'll pick up the hotel
Oh ru, that's too much!
yahoo, sliding in sideways (very carefully,of course) here in time to say hi to you all
hi granny
hi rose
hi granny -- how goes it?
ruru, pick up hotel....my such strong muscles.
exactly granny.. why fly over buildings when you can lift them
and with a wonky knee too, what a hero!!!!
lol
San Francisco - conjures up such hippy and fun pictures for me - you so lucky
hey urshy
hippy, ursh?
back. took ryan to work. ugh what a chore
yes you know flower children of the 70's with long hair and now shoes and flowers in their hair
jilli, doing well, have extended time between pain meds to 5 hours
no shoes
hey rose - lovely to see you back and doing so well
Oh, I remember, ursh -- and we have a whole lot of ageing ones here too.
that's good, granny.
lol jilli - quite sad
<---fondly remembers the hippy days
phant -- esteem
hey, i have a glass jar on my dressing-table.....with 5 strands of indian love beads in it.
that was the first word i tried jill
Oh.. I had long hair
lol, cos!
did you also have those long sideburns almost to the jawline
so did i, ruru, caftans, indian leather toe-sandals, incense sticks and burners....sigh....what an age!
i remember rafia toe sandals then criss crossed up the leg - happy happy days
and all those brass ornaments with bits of enamel set into them
I had mutton chops yes
I think I was stoned for most of the 70's
i still have a matching pair of brass vases, about 14" tall, etched
a decade too late ru? :)
I am serious though Jilli.. I can find a nice hotel. that is close to your relative
that's super-kind of you, ruru.
I came in on the end of the hippy era cos
I was in high school then.. emphasis on the high
lol ah makes sense then :P
outsew isnt accepted poo :(
tried it though cos
trying not to give too much away....oh, what the heck, i was married with first on the way. lived in a single bedroom flat, with paisley-print wallpaper
oh granny.. you old hippy
.. at least you were married
I was too old for all that -- son partook -- d-i-l was at Woodstock.
I tried to go to woodstock
such fun, and the suburb we lived in was well-known for it's hippy culture.
although I'm glad I didn't make it very far
where were you living then, ruru?
SF
oh hey its my anniversary
oh, yeah, jimmy hendrix, cat stevens, simon and garfuncle....
I moved out of my parents house at a week before 16

wtg hpb
that foot looks very painful hpb
I really want "carmine" to be in this puzzle. Dang phantoms.
hpb, you have my sympathy -- that sounds a lot like my broken ankle last December 10.
does anyone have the me7?
how long before you could walk on it, jilli?
not me cos, only have 4 M words
did manage to find the me6/24 tho...
oooh, do share?
no weight-bearing for 6 weeks, hpb, then lots of physio.
me + cross + most of not closed
thanks cos, would not have found that
ditto!
I'm on my third week of four (I hope) with the pins, then who knows what afterward. I'll probably never run again.
I can relate to the hp
that
yay found the me7!
add a vowel before the last vowel in the me6 after it
I didn't have pins like yours, but screws and a plate. Foot was dislocated and both tibia and fibula were broken.
Had to wear an AirCast but I'm pretty good now. You'll run again!
No cast, but a compression knee-high for the swelling still, although even that's much less now.

Hello scouser!
hi jillibus
scouser, think of toting something ...leave out one r + pl.
ruru, love your icon, lol!
hi peach
Hi there, jillibus.
Did that help, scouser?
hi peach, scouser
Hey there, flosey.
haven't had to cook, either, jilli.
ty gap I was moaning because of yet another Enable quirk the ca7/36 is a plural of a should-be-existent word in the grid ending in -ix.

hi Flask :)

mm....you could be right!
:)

argh that was a lie... at 2/3 only.
oh wow!....lol
crime
crimes
hey hey... just a lie, not a cr5 :)
sorry sprite!
no problem, grin :D
hey, those funny em words are back. They were in a very recent grid as well.
where is the puzzle for today....this looks like the one we did yesterday
hi Buttonman, I see a new one. Mine starts with WECRC at the top.
mine too
Hi, Mine popped up with the WECRC but it has 49 words on it and they are the same as yesterday...i must be going crazy
that is odd. Try to force-refresh (control + F5 on a windows pc)
fireflies! Bye all, have a grand day. *hugs*
well done sprite...take care.....
you too, Flask :)
back from lunch
70 this AM
And what was for lunch?
es
so sorry about that shout out
lunch was at the local Italian, as usual. It was duck with white beans, sort of a port man's cassoulet. Not bad, but certainly better tha cooking at home]
Good morning Phand
good morning.
poor* (not port)
and how is everyone this fine day?
hello phand
I don't know about that. I bet you make great cassoulet.
hoping for a little or even at lot of rain
me, good, but hungry. Waiting for husband to wake up so we can go get breakfast...
I'm better, now that there is fresh air outside again.
My Ruby has a "heart insufficiency" and is now on two mes.s I am heart sick!!!!
I did watch the sunrise over the Savannah River, which was only meh...
meds*
I am so sorry to hear about your puppy, Ruby.
she is the dog of my heart and I am very upset.
Hugs to you. What is her prognosis with the meds?
they don't really know and bringing her in for an ultrasound would only add more stress
or echocardiogram....
boo! I know how much it hurts.
She's pretty old, right Ruby?
she's 9 1/2, but we've never had a chow make it to ten
the info in the med pack says that 65% of dogs last an extra 15 months on this med
I'm sorry she's sick and I'm sorry you're sad.
{{molly}}
it didn't hit me right away on Monday, when the vet came, but tomday I'm destroyed
Well, maybe it'
Well, maybe it's time to appreciate each day and not look too far down the line.
I'm trying to do that, but I'm still very sad
I lit a candle for you and Ruby.
husband is oblivious
thank you molly!!
It might be better for him to be oblivious. Then you only have your sad feelings to deal with.
down to 22 words and only got 1 of the 7's!
75 words and only one of the 7;s. too
which one did you get? I got the TO 7
got the ca7/36
That ca7 is a weird word
well, the TO 7 is plural of male hair piece.
monks are looking for the to
ty for the to
the ca has to do with dental problems
so it is related to the 6 then?
I was wrng, it has to do with a marsh plant....
oh, hmmm.
is it a type of marsh plant?
I think so
hmmm
similar to tooth decay
google is not helping me
ca & asian grains
ca + alt to potatoes + s
{{lynxx}}
good evening all
got it! Thanks
well, off to prod my husband. Me starving and want breakfast!
good luck phand!

ar & "hail fellow, well *** "
appendage + alien dude.
thank you

ruby, what happened to your dog?
hi Bichon, I think she is taking a nap
hi wv, hi bichon. i think rubydog is very sick. sounds like a heart condition.
Not the puppy? The older one was pretty old for a Chow
No, it is Ruby her older Chow
no, ruby the dog. almost 10 years old. our ruby is heart sick about it all, and her husband is being obtuse.
tadone! finito!
Congrats Dawg!
congrats ibdawger
I think it is more that Ruby is shielding her husband from any upsetting news
wtg dawg
hode

hi sue...have a great day
Morning folks
ahhh we have one of the 7 dwarves in here today..how cute
howdy bob
howdy suze!
mmm...tea...
still in bed...hmmmmm
lol
thats where i like my tablet.laying in bed babbling
my netbook...
i like this tablet because it has a detachable keyboard,so i can use it as a netbook or a tablet and the keyboard itself also holds a 6 hour charge
so...good news crossy....missie brokeup with bf for cutie pie...
lol, knew that was going to happen
less drama this way... no spiteful girls at school
at this age, they change boy friends like shoes
yes,her toxic gf will be appeased
yes,her toxic gf will be appeased
oops have the hiccups this morn it seems
well... i would tend to agree there..but she is loyal... obviously something in cutie pie besides his cuteness struck a cord..likely how he treated her with respect ( southern charm and manners)
lol, hope you have a good data package carlee the ole skype will just be humming
free long distance... flat rate
i already told her i will try and find a way to get back down there before end of summer... its just gas... and food really...stay at the hostel and camp is only 16.00/ night
there you go:)
i dont relish driving that way all alone... but....
bring a friend.make it a girls weekend out
will see
then one day she will say"not coming back with you mom, cutie pie and i are moving in together" lol
quite possibly
tell her to have her future kids in canada though.the health care is going to hell down there.seems they are now voting to kill obamacare
heheheh..i forgot....
everywhere we went...people were full of questions about our health care
"is it true y'all can just go to the hospital and git taken care of?"
guess they like paying insurance companies big bux and min wagers die in the streets
"ya mean y'all dont hafta pay?"
we pay..at tax time
"but you mean you dont die in the waiting room waitin on gittin' served?"
that way everyone, rich, poor, workng, not working, even living in the streets has access to health care in a timely manner....as it should be
"cus thats wot we heard...y'all are dyin' before u git to see the dr"
yes carlee,i have heard, when you go to the free clinics down there ,they have different wait times for tests than those who pay up for the big fat insurance polocies
even cutie pie was full of the same questions
no...they have been told WE die up here waiting cus everyone has free medical
it is strange that a country that big can still have health care like that, but i am sure they will work it out..eventually
oh and dr's wages SUCK...cus not paid
lol you are kidding
our dr's dont make much money
my doctor makes 345,000 a year
no..i was quoting all those questions..i was asked them all..go back and re-read
wifes dr*
now it seems a vote is going on to repeal what little gain has been made
Good morning, kids.
howdy judi
yeap... and...the other thing... everyone down there is so full of conspiracy theories that they cant see straight
and the old "why should i pay for his health care with my taxes" syndrome
Hey, we wouldn't be paranoid if everyone wasn't out to get us. :-p
lol, please do not nuke us judi!!!! i am sorry!
arrgh! run!
What was the name of that song? "Blame Canada"?
no..not that..just..conspiracy theories..i guess obama has put a clause in some new legislation regarding pandemics wherein he has ( president) has ultimate and final control during a pandemic... which just feeds the new world order theories that abound b/c of denver airport
i heard a secret rumour that the U.S wants to turn canada into a 6 flags amusement park
Just during the summer, Crossy.
and that all us locals with work for 6 flags/northern states of america inc
'Cause y'all have brutal winters and the roller coasters would all freeze up.
lol
but who the heck is out to "get" the US?
thats when u have tobaganning races judi
yuppers
( laughsat brutal....more snow in TN last winter than we did up here)
and make one kick ass ice skating rink
Just kidding on that one, Carlee. Although, there are plenty of whole countries that seem to hate the US now.
anyway... was an interesting visit from a cultural point of view down there
i am sure it was
when my wife and son went down there years ago to FLA to visit her parents i sent them with the best blue cross supplimental health plan i could find for travellers.2 weeks total coverage cost me 40 dollars
but i really miss a few of the people...and damn...that river...there was something about that river that just... sucks u in...its such a great little place...
yea i did the same with caa..25.00 each of us... 5 mil coverage for the week
good,good
my mother in law got caught once, was doing a fast run back to the border and could not make it,she had a bacterial infection of some sort and ended up 1 week in u.s hospital and 40,000 dollars later
5 mil is definitely covering triage and airflight home
used to give them hell for not getting travel insurance
yes, 5 mil works
its insane
and why everyone fights it?... i guess conspiracy theories
must be
It's complicated.
you think the dr,s down there would want universal health care, just get your money from the govt each month instead of fighting 20 or 30 diff insurance companies for every dime each month
yeap... and no defaults on payments
yup
so good morning folks and how many words today and thanks
134 stevo
we still have health ins companies up here that up ur "service" to things like extended physio, and massage... private room instead of ward..etc
yea,i do not worry overmuch though.as it is you can have 20 physio visits before needing supplimental
so the ins companies dont go away...and u likely increase # of jobs cus u have the govt ( unionised) workers mediating between dr's and the govt
i know,i used em with i herniated the 3 disks in my neck
sousing out items etc for the hospitals...
the town i stayed at crossy..the hospital was 1 story...i have never seen a 1 story hospital
we are having a hospital fund drive now.we need ten million for some new equipment.the govt gave us 5 mil and we pony up the other 5
its fair
yea we have been in midst of one for an mri machine we have..gotta get it up and running
lol carlee,we have a hospital in meaford.has 1 story and 24 beds
thats what we are gunning for,a new mri.we got a good used ct scanner from toronto general 2 years ago
no idea how many beds... but looked like a hmmm..nursing home or soething
well,better than nothing
yeap... is...glad i didnt need..came close with missie...we came off the mountain and she was begging for crutches
we are lucky in that a local cople that passed last year gave the hospital enough money to fully exquip and max out our kidney dyalisis centre so we are good there
told her u are walking..maybe in pain in your joints..but u are walking...
yup,
then told her..lets get u to bed...some ice packs and see...
grimm put us up in a cabin... FOC with some ice packs.. and gave her some wicked 85% cocao chocolate bars...and gatorade...
well,glad she is ok
oh yea...that..some moonshine ( why not..its illegal anyway to have it...) and cutie pie..good to go
75% plus is the best chocolate.is good for you
yeap... oh and sleep...with ibuprophen and acetiminephin
where is everyone today? and judi is so quiet over there
there we got.though i had best type in a word or 3 for the grid;)
judi must be grid grinding:)
plowing through this one... already at 74 words
everyone wondering when the jabbering canucks will shut up lol
I am. Down to 20. Gotta get s'more coffee tho.
likely... ok...am shuttign up
;)

How is your daughter's injury now?
hi cyber
anyway... we ventured forth.. at some point she pulled her groin..didnt find out until that night... we camped by a private old dam/pond that night ( huge thunderstorm...oh..we drive through the wreckage of the big storm that hit ohio and washington on the friday..)
drove*
where were you?
wodes
then left the area...and a trail angel drove past... we came out of the trail at that point at a highway... got a ride back to hotsprings...and took shuttle back to erwin tn...
oops good thing it wasn't a word

sorry went out for a bit
Hawaii, Australia, London
also would like to go to Niagra Falls, Sanibel Island and the Grand Canyon
Then you should have a plan as to how to make that happen.
I thought the Giant was open near here and went to check. but it will not be open til 7/15. Went to look at apts today. The building was kindof run down
I was never good at planning. Need to make more friends.
I was never good at planning. Need to make more friends.
who are available to travel
Oh well, at least you made a move towards finding a place.
lots of older people living there, grey and white-haired. I am older but do not think I look my age
Have you ever thought about going somewhere on a guided tour? That puts you in a group of people. My sister visited Ireland that way and made very special friends on the trip.
one of my friends lives in a house that has 4 apts. the one above her is now vacant. It is in an area that is not as nice as here. I am kind of snobby
yes, a guided tour sounds good. would even condider doing that myself. how would I find out about them
that is the kind of travel my parents did and they made friends too
The only good thing about living here besides the nice neighborhood is the cheap rent I pay.
Maybe a travel agency? Or look around on line. The Ireland tour was kind of spiritual in nature, she loved it.
the apt complex did not allow any pets :( My friend would allow Zoe-Anne :) something to think about
bbs
Heh. Just monkeyed the ce7 .. What a word ..
Well done, Tor! I think I will wait a little before struggling with that one, myself...:)
hmmm, babble not working well, some words I put in say they've already been entered...anyone else having issues?
Yes..... red messages.... no words entering.... I refreshed and was able to log in, but word list is not loading
Sorry about the hiccup. The database was acting squirrelly. I had to force restart it. Refresh the page, and all should be well again.
thank you :-)
Thank you Dr God, first time reloading didn't work...second YAY!
aha.... the hiccups are gone ! Thanks
Our leader loves us ..
Dr God is a computer wonder!
wow, long time but nbt...how is everyone?
and nbs
Lovely Jilly, how are you?
all is well with me Jilly.... not quite as hot today. Just playing a little babble with my feet in a basin of cold water.... LOL
Brr!
Then we are going to the farmers' market and then out for a salad .... the heat does get to me a bit.
The heat gets to me too, Diane. Not so much the actual heat, but the lack of fresh air.
Molly... it starts out cold but soon cools the body... my ankles are very swollen.... part of the fibromyalgia and the heat in disagreement !
A big WooT for molly! :) Hot here today, day started with a bang...had a call that a patient we didn't have on schedule walked in at 6:45 AM...got through day, but am going to babble my stress off and take the long shower I was denied this morning.
We don't have air conditioning.... rely on fans, so have plenty of fresh air from outside
If we keep windows open at night, then keep curtains closed our house stays perfectly cool. Now if we can just avoid too much smoke and are able to open windows at night!
Problem is when it's hot, the air outside isn't fresh. Glad you have a cool off strategy, Diane. Poor Jilly, sending relaxing vibes your way.
It's only 26 C here today... got to 33 yesterday. We have lots of trees around, and I bless the triple windows we installed about 6 years ago... makes a big difference, as 4 front windows face west.
One positive here ... we don't have to deal with humidity, although our rain at 4 this morning did create a little of that. It soon burns off.
Thanks Molly, it was so easy to deal with unscheduled walkins before computers. Can't even get drugs out without patient in the system...feet are up and I am relaxed!
Anyone have the ce7...
nope, sorry.... it's next for me, after I get this ca 7
nm..got it!
*gives extra banana to monkeys*
Any word with "platyhelminth" in the definition is for the brainiacs.

LOL...so true molly
1/2 way...brb..need a big glass of water...

Sorry to crash in, guys, but would anybody be aware of any good ways to relieve wisdom tooth pain, please?
go mark go! hey all
andrew, clove oil
paracetamol (I think that is what you call tylenol) would help with pain
is it just one tooth or many?
ambesol
cocaine, but that is not recommended
anbesol is good (uses clove oil for numbing) but I am not sure what it is called in the UK
Would you believe, Stid, cloves are the one thing on this earth I'm allergic to? I've been taking codeine but was wondering if there was anything topical that came recommended.
andrew, the key is consistency in taking ibuprofen --- it was originally a prescription med used for tooth pain, when taken on a regular schedule. Talk to your pharmacist about dosage and schedule. Set your clock to take scheduled doses even in the middle of the night if need be. Then of course, see your dentist :).
and you all always seem to be such fountains of knowledge!
I leave for one second...
there are topical pain relievers available over the counter here -- but most of them include clove as at least a flavoring. *thinking*
ibuprofen? I'll see if it can be safely mixed with the antibiotics/codeine. Thank you! :) I saw my dentist today, but unfortunately I'll be waiting a while for surgery to remove it. Wahhh!
haha sorry andrew
don't get hooked on the codeine... why no hyrocodone or oxycodone?? so much stronger
not good -- you might try a warm compress, andrew -- sometimes heat is helpful. Outside the mouth, against the cheek.
Haha, no apologies Mark! Laughter is the best medicine :)
Years ago when my dentist prescribed it for me, I took 400 mgs every 6 hours. The non-prescription in the u.s. comes in 200 mgs. It's rough on tummies though, so be sure to eat something with it.
What a travesty I have experienced. Not only did McDonald's forget to give me a straw with my latte, but they failed to put a toy in my Happy Meal! Oh, the pain....
What a travesty I have experienced. Not only did McDonald's forget to give me a straw with my latte, but they failed to put a toy in my Happy Meal! Oh, the pain....
Oh come on
they have 600 mg ibuprophen now, that it was i got post-surgery
*resolves to boycott McD's for forgetting toy in happy meal*
LOL, harp! I thought I was the only adult who ordered the happy meals specifically for the toys!
Oh, unfortunately I don't think we can get those over the counter here, Yad!
Aren't the Happy Meal toys something to do with Pokemon at the moment? I would storm back and demand one!
the issue with ibuprofen and other NSAIDS can be that it thins the blood. If surgery is within a couple weeks, taking that medication may be contra-indicated.
Oh, unfortunately not, Stid. I'm waiting on the NHS! In this area of the city, I'll most likely be waiting six weeks or so...
Good point, stid. I was told to stop my aspirin 3 days prior to surgery, so Andrew will definitely want to check with his pharmacist.
that stinks, andrew
Too right, Stid! I'll probably have gone mad and removed it myself by that point :P oh, well. Nothing to do but smile!
you can generally safely combine one NSAID type with paracetamol, but again check with a pharmacist or doctor to be sure what you have is safe to combine. I combine tylenol and aleve for migraines, for example.
So, stid ... did you see our mayor on tv? He's the one who was arrested at Sea-Tac.
andrew, seems I recall some mouthwashes have mild painkillers. Others I can think of include thyme oil and sometimes things like garlic.
Hmmm. Good advice, thank you. I think I'll try your suggestion about the heat, too.
And remember that NSAIDs also thin the blood so may need to stop before surgery as well.
Thank you everybody for good and friendly advice :)
I did, ch -- so sad. I bet if he were a man who looked germanic or scandinavian they would have questioned him and let him go with a warning...
hey jilly
hugs and sympathy and good thoughts your way, andrew.
Aww, thank you ch1212 :) I'm sure it'll pass! I'm just feeling sorry for myself, most likely.
No, any of us who have had wisdom teeth hurt understand completely. You go right ahead and baby yourself :)
Sorry you're having tooth pain Andrew. Definitely check with your doctor first before adding and/or mixing any medications.
andrew, other things that will help you cope with the pain (maybe) -- avoid really acid or sweet stuff (can make the bacteria more active) and avoid caffeine (more jumpy/nervous makes pain worse for me). TRY to sleep, or at least cut yourself some slack on activities. PAIN is exhausting (I am a minor expert from the experience).
Thank you Molly, and sound advice indeed :)
ch1212! How you doing? Haven't seen you for ages! hug hug hug
distract yourself -- video games are a good thing because they require a lot of full attention. I like puzzle-based games that engage lots of the parts of the brain.
Oh, yes indeed Stid! My throat is rather swollen, so I'm really on a diet of the most flavourless mush I can find at the moment ;)
ch -- would you like to try to get together at some point this summer?
Deep breathing, slow and rhythmic, guided imagery and meditation, warm baths, ...
Ohh, stid! What an idea! I hadn't thought of that. Are we planning a babble get-together this year in the local area?
Thanks everyone :) I will see if I can get some sleep. I'm very appreciative for all the warm and helpful advice! Stay well, everybody :)
wasn't planning an official get-together because Bugs is having one up at Nanaimo (did you hear about that one?), but hego is flying in to SeaTac, and uusue is driving out for it.
(Of course, there is no reason you and I couldn't get together for a mini babbler get-together, too!)
And we could do a low-key coffee or dinner at a restaurant up your way and let others know we are going to be there.
(Note to self: catch up first on chog before posting...) Sounds fun! Let me know the date and I'll try my best to be there :)
What area are you all talking about? I'm east coast - MD
My elder son should probably visit Bellingham (he is thinking of transferring there once he earns his Associate's) this summer and get a feel for the lay of the land.
In terms of restaurant, it's only 25 miles for me to Seattle, so not a big deal.
Nanaimo is a town on Vancouver Island off the coast of British Columbia
ouch...
Bellingham is a marvelous town, but quite a ways for anyone coming from Sea-Tac.
but there are LOTS of babblers out your way, YadNivek (I think I figured out your name, btw)
what is it stid?
Beloved and I took a day cruise around the San Juans last summer. So beautiful.
yes, that is why I was thinking about a low-key get together separate from the big thing in Canada
it's backwards... my great-uncle's writer's name was backwards, too -- Bob Neek
or was it Trobert Neek?
Pouring down BIG drops of rain and it smells wonderful here!
nice, but mine is not Day Kevin... I thought of it years ago and luckily have been able to register nearly everywhere with it alone (no numbers)
Trebor?
I haven't cruised the San Juans (yet) probably should do that before I turn 50...
trebor = robert backwards
Evening all.
yes, I spelled it wrong. I was supposed to be napping, but decided to babble a bit first. LOL maybe its naptime now!
hey red -- how's you? how's running going?
I'm doing a little better...job stress is intense.
sorry about the job stress
it will get better...been a fairly insane week. good and bad.
how are you all doing. Waves at Babble group!
I'm right with you there on job stress red...parts of my job just plain suck
*sets out guilt-free choclits, cookies and puddings for red*
Aww thanks Stid. Jilly, what is it that you do?
Just saw that 7-11 is giving away free Slurpees today until 7 pm to celebrate the 85th anniversary of the store.
I'm an Endoscopy RN, have the responsibilty of running the department...without any title or pay BTW
just in case anyone here likes slurpees (I don't anymore).
Oh yes. I am the Infection prevention RN...we see eye to eye here.
No 7-11's here stid, but slurpees aren't on my fav list either
LOL I do not do slupees, unless its really HOT, but its almost 7 here!
wow. how often do you see Endoscopy and Slurpee in the same web site?
(sorry, stepped away for a moment -- just got an email forwarded --- it's from a reader on CNN who wrote the "Top 10 Reasons Why Gay Marriage is Wrong". Satirical, brilliantly written.)
Ah Red! We are currently going through a remodeling and operating out of one room. 6 endoscopists...all were warned a month ago, those that attended the meeting decided to limit cases to only urgent cases...a memo was sent out, now one doc states "I wasn't informed". Grrrr
Anyone have any experience with prozac vs. luvox for OCD?
In case any babblers are acquainted with OCD.
Besides having a wakeup call this morning that a patient not on schedule had walked in....
LOLOL Jilly
OCD..excuse me..needs to be CDO...must be in alphabetical order
I might have to ask people on the Fountain Pen Network if you guys don't know.
Kap, in addition to behavioral modification, I was prescribed paxil for OCD years ago. Then prozac. The latter seemed to work much better for me. Lol jilly!
I just got a very expensive proposal approved by senior leadership...only to have 2 anesthetists say "I never heard anything about it!" I just forwarded them the email that I sent them weeks ago...
OC&D are pretty round letters.
Sorry Kap...no knowledge on that topic though
I think they are in the right order- O is roundest, C if half-round and D has half-round and line.
If anyone is watching The Newsroom on HBO- it's really important stuff!
Did I mention I have a fairly unsupportive boss....well, supportive but not ACTIVELY supportive!
Luvox anyone?
Wow, pouring once again...haven't heard thunder..that is a GOOD thing!
LOL..Kap
Hi hapr
*harp
The next letter should be B. A line and two rounds.
no there's thunder jilly, but it's a ways off
My Boss is unusual. she is like delores umbridge of harry potter fame...
then G.
pute
Then P and R
oops
ahhh...makes life interesting!
not a word, Red.
I have to admit, I do want retirement, but its like 20 years off... Grrr.
yah...at least give real words.... ;)
I'm not even half way!!!!
I have 12 years if I work til I'm 67 like SS thinks I should...I can taste it!!
are there any ap words?
yes harp ap4, and ap 5. want a clue?
Platyhelminth! Platyhelminth!
Back to painting. Kids are coming for a visit, and I'm redoing the spare room. harp, I have 3.
Bye ch1212..happy painting!
molly are you talking abotu some sort of worm?
Ya had to start that again Molly! ;)
thanks i got em red
<--Responding to Jilly's post about using real words. *Gives Red a SMARTY PANTS CLUB t-shirt for knowing what that means*
Well, Molly, I am Infection Control helminths are kind of part of my thing!
Mine too....
puts t shirt on proudly.
indeed Jilly!
Oh perfect. Y'all just chat amongst yourself about platyhelminths.
Well, just as soon not actually...LOL
With you Jilly, I spent a good chunk of the day thinking and writing about C diff...yeah, I have a cool job.
Ha nurses! I speaketh your lingo now. I am currently switching professions to medical transcription.
I always wanted to do that Molly...
Better than swimming in it red...LOL...I do love taking care of my patients though....
I'd thought about that too Red and molly...something we can do from home!
Oh No, I do not touch patients these days...I barely talk to them, they get very alarmed when I show up...
Jilly, our Data abstractors all work from home...
Well...must pop out for awhile...nice knowing yet another RN that babbles....hmmmm...ironic? *poof*
Bye!!!
bye ch, and jilly... sorry I wandered off.
I also need an idea for supper -- I have tofu, basil, kale from the garden... I am thinking a greens and tofu quick stir-fry over rice. Easy, fast and tasty. And won't heat the kitchen too much. What do you-all think?
sounds good, stid!
hey sue!
I'd mix the Tofu in the soil in the garden to stimulate growth
*frowny face at ruru* LOL
*frowny face at tofu*
<--Agrees with Ru
*Barfy face at tofu*
HA
I like tofu, it's from a local company and tastes nice -- not like the slimy stuff in the white plastic boxes at grocery stores
But then, I have eaten tofu all my life -- perhaps your palates are not adapted to soy.
it's like eating banana slugs
no, actually not. And I have the banana slugs to prove it.
oh well -- I guess I'll just have to wander off and think about how to make things work later. Naptime for me before Tom gets home.
*poof*
maybe kale, basil, and banana slugs then? are they gluten free?
*Wonders how one gets tofu from the garden*
ci 5/12
ci 5/14 sorry
Like where clowns perform, with a vowel ending.
you mean COngress Molly?
cot it, thanks Molly
goodreads is having some new book giveaways for those who wish to enter
the site is very busy and you may need to try a time or 2
do 5/18
Ru! You got my clue. Very good.
Do 5/18 is one of the seven dwarves.
How did I miss that, thanks
dofus
guess that wasn't it
Those are the seven dweebs.
Fireworks. Thanks for all the help.
Early fireworks for you Miss Peach.
lol
is that like premature fireworks?
Yes, otherwise known as the 10 second mambo.
now that one I've never heard.
Did anyone else have trouble with the me's, I am
Ru, I think you would have approved the menu at the place I had lunch today. They use lots of vinagrette, asagio, oven-roasted tomatoes and wasabi aioli.
Most of the me words are weird.
That would explain my trouble
hola all
Oh look, Via is here. Hi Via.
Yep. Time to party!
*passes out party hats*
Oh too bad. You jsut missed the tofu and kale supper.
*(sombrero style, of course)*
*Gets out castanets*
haha, I'm eating lentils and chard
Punishing yourself for something?
No! It's full of curry and sweet potatoes. Though it didn't turn out as well this time. I think the sweet potatoes were old or something.
Usually it's foodgasm. Today it's just, you know, food.
HA HA! Good one, Molly, m'dear.
Nothing like an old spud to ruin things.
me 4/9 and me 7/36
me4/9 cat sound.
Foodgasm, MMM, never thought of it that way, but "food for thought", via.
me7/36 me + not bottom + first two vowels
Sorry, couldn't help it.
I prefer a foodgasm over a plate of grass and seaweed any day.
:)
Yep.
that me7 makes no sense -- it looks like a latin plural ending but enable won't take the singular
ty Molly
Well, now what to do before the flip????? Guess I'll go on Utube and get some hippie music going.
*Gets out hippie clothes*
se 5/14 any clues for this?
You rock, Miss Molly. Later y'all.
adios peach
Most people think of se5/14 as two words. Opposite of take down.
I think it should have a hyphen
hey, maybe some day the grid should include a hyphen as one of the letters
geesh ... tyvm Molly
Well, you will have to take that up with the "we don't play by the rules" people at Enable.
is the ra7 a real word? and if so, is it compound?
Not a compound, real word.
yes it's real word
the sexiest
Done!
oooh! good word!
Good work Tivel.
or being naked in a race car
Naked NASCAR. That could catch on.
well, either you're inside the car, and no one can tell you're naked, or you're outside the car, and that's really dangerous

A yoga teacher who teaches yoga classes to Facebook employees, gave a dirty look to a student who was (yes) texting while yoga class was going on. We are truly going to hell as a society.
Oh, the teacher was fired for that.
i heard it was google not FB
http://www.mercurynews.com/breaking-ne ws/ci_21051001/yoga-teacher-fired-glar ing-at-facebook-worker Facebook
though it sounds like it was not quite so simple as just that she glared. she was warned prior to the class that she could not enforce a cellphone ban. David Milani, a representative of Plus One Health Management, declined to comment specifically on Van Ness' case. But he said company instructors who teach at some companies including Facebook are required to allow fitness members to pick up their phones during class.
which is not to say that the whole thing isn't sillier than crap.
i think if it's during work time, and work is paying for the yoga, then as an employee, yeah, you need to be responsive
don't think she should be fired tho
don't think she should be fired tho
responsive to the texting i meant
responsive to the texting i meant
if it was just a disapproving glare, perhaps a warning would have been appropriate...unless this is an ongoing issue with the instructor...
...but, on that note...I need to get back to working on wed'g plannin' stuff...see y'all next time!
take care *POOF*
bye, pini
it would have to be some serious glaring for me to be as offended as the student sounded...
Well, all I can say is that if you are texting during yoga class, you have missed the whole point of yoga.
i agree with the molly
And I'm really tired of the precocious babies who get their thongs in a wad because they are told they can't be on their cell phones constantly.
i hate it when they do it at the movies
hi again all!
I read a cute thing on a site for teachers - pointing out that we can tell when our students are texting - after all, no one just looks at their crotch and smiles!

And I finally understand the references to platyhelminths.
I am jumping back and forth between this and other things. is that warping?
Weft, yesterday. Is "warp" the horizontal you were thinking of?
yes!
I like being horizontal
do you also like the mambo?
Horizontal warping platyhelminths.
why would you weave worms, molly?
I didn't say weftwise platyhelminths.
I suppose if they're long enough and flat enough you could in fact weave them...
Sue, this is not string theory. We are talking about tapeworms. : P
what if they're the same, molly? what if the universe's structure is determined by the vibration of parasites?
Ew
Well, that would be trematodes oscillation which is an entirely different topic.
ooh, vibration chat! (hi all)
hi gwen :)
Yes, I knew that, Molly :-)
and hi gwen and torgone!
Heyas kids ..
<--Quits, as she sees that sense of humor no longer exists in the chat log.
There are studies that suggest the brain influences the mind about choices before the person is aware of what he/she will do. Perhaps the vibrating parasites have a role?
well, some parasites can significantly change host behavior, bab...

Where are the physics babblets located, Sue?
TY babble, again, been tearing hairs on that one
they are in my profile, BR
Thanks
I see you have parsec but not secpar
secpar?
noun: a unit of astronomical length based on the distance from Earth at which stellar parallax is 1 second of arc; equivalent to 3.262 light years
hmmm - as far as I can see they mean the same thing. Never heard secpar used, though, and I've taught a lot of astronomy courses out of a lot of different texts
parsecs come up a lot in trivia contests
secpar is in the grid on occasion
maybe secpar was an early version of the term, and parsec is the one that won out
haven't seen it but I'll add it - thanks!
I thought is curious how par sec is transposed to sec par
hmmm, all the links I can find (doing a google search) are to dictionaries, some of which immediately redirect to parsec - I don't think it is actually used by anyone
parsec: one twelfth of the time it takes to make the Kessel run ..
hey all, potatoes taken care of, down to 9. ME 6 after cat sounds please?
par (allax ) +sec (ond )
Princeton's WordNet 1. parsec, secpar(noun) a unit of astronomical length based on the distance from Earth at which stellar parallax is 1 second of arc; equivalent to 3.262 light years
me + this hill is very ****p
Yes, I've found it in dictionaries, BR, but not in actual use - as far as I know parsec is the term that all astronomers use
thanks sue
fw
yay stid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and here you thought you wouldn't finish!
Familiarity information: SECPAR used as a noun is very rare.
yes, I found that, BR :-)
yep. feels good. I am tired, though. I think I will go rest up before bedtime. LOL I have a couple small tasks to finish and then I'll try to catch up.
I think if you were to use it in a sentence while talking to an astronomer you would get a blank look (and then perhaps be corrected to parsec)
night, stid!
thanks for the help, and the vocabulary lesson, sue and BR! *poof*
and I am off too - see you all tomorrow!
