hey rbud, back as you said, dear.
rbud? you cruising with this grid? lickety's list is available. or would you like a hand?
oh, I'm just noodling along, well over half, nbt, nbs, reading the back chog, having a relaxing time of it. :)
some really odd words in this one.
are there two dh's? i have found one so far.
you're right about the odd words. nope, only 1 x dh, the other is da6
bet I can guess the third letter, lol
aha, found it in morewords, how easy was that?
yay, rbud
hurricane, anyone?
hey, rbud....have taken a new path for my pain control. we have a product available in ozland, which has codeine in it, sold over the counter. it is stronger than panadeine, but not as strong as panadeine forte.(which i can't take, as the codeine level is too high for me)
shdy??? you okay??
so is that working well for you, g'rose? and no, I'll pass on the hurricane, I think, though we're supposed to feel a bit of the effects even up here, says the weatherman
I'm good, still have pwer, wind starting to really blow. Can't wait for daylight.
new orleans is southeast of us, they are taking it right now, we're just starting to have the gusts, no rain yet.
oh, dear, glad you're pulling through it, shdy, stay safe!
oh, shdy, please be safe. well i took the first dose of 2 tablets 3 hours ago, stinging sensation definitely setled. hope i can use it when i go back to work. i mean, i hope it is adequate.
Hubby is headed out tomorrow for his annual trip to Iowa to a giant antique motorcycle swap meet, lasts until Sunday... my annual peace and quiet time, lol.
well prepped, we have food set up, generator andf gas for after, empty back yard, now just hoping big trees don't come down, can't control that!
i stood up and ironed for 1 1/2 hours today...definitely that is my limit of standing for consecutive minutes.*ironed= folding, sorting etc*
oh, shudder - don't like falling trees, have had many bad experiences and near misses
{{HUUGLES}} Shady, fingers and toes crossed. xxx
should get bad about 5 or 6 am, and stay bad for 36 hrs or so
what diz said shady...and cooee diz
I heard on the news that it's moving very slowly for a hurricane, must be why it will be around so long?
love you guys, going back out to watch......night
oh, a stormwatcher, huh? just take care and report back! :)
yep, supposedly worse than gustav, which tore us (Baton Rouge) apart
cooeee Granny
yeah, you heard what rbud said.
so, diz, did you have a good day in your neck of the woods? no snow, cyclones, typhoons, tsunamis...???
to see what I'm watching, go to http://viewoutage.entergy.com/la.aspx
have a buddy on FB who lives in Florida, she posted pics of her back yard flooding last night and hasn't been back on today, I hate worrying about how folks are doing.
please don't think i am deprecating what you are going throgh, shdy. i have a warped sense of humour>
that never occurred to me, granny, at all
just sharing the weather, i'm actually pretty calm always, no worries
poof
oh, good...sometimes i rub people up the wrong way. i am truly concerned for what you must be going through. i have never had to live through such extremes of weather. i am very fortunate.
ok, lied abou the poof, but really, no big deal, now really poof
we are very fortunate as well. and Granny, no dramas here just a luverly spring like day.
we have two regular tornado seasons here, not fun.
ditto, diz.
one morning a few years back, after a stormy night, I opened the inside back door to see the top of a huge tree just past the screen, it had fallen the whole length of the back yard and luckily didn't come through the door or land on the house - that was scary.
we had some piles of firewood for our campfires that year! it was a giant old tree.
don't know how we slept through the boom it must have made when it went down!
the most major drama we fa4 where i live, is bushfires. we live in the foothills of the dandenong ranges, and my son and his wife live in the ranges. every year some idiot decides that he wants to watch the pretty lights and listen to the sirens as fire trucks race out to put out yet another deliberately lit fire.
oh, I hate fires! seems every little bit there is a huge one somewhere. this has been a very dry summer, too, here - is it dry there, also?
so many homes and lives lost each year because of sickoes like this. i just cannot understand how their minds work.
I cringe when I see a passing car throw out a cigarette butt!
thoughtless.
no, rbud, dry is not a word i wold use for our crrent weather. but as the weather warms up, you can bet yor last dollar on the rapidity of groth in the scrubland and national parks around here.
bore da - good morning
hmmm, the u key not working as well as i would like. sorry.
hiya, Glant, good morning to you, too
hey glant!!
this frid doesn't seem too friendly
you got that right, glant. quite a few weird words in it.
i keep finding most of a word, rather than all of it LOL
yup, that's babble for you
not that i've been looking for long or found many
**FIREWORDS**
WTG DIZ!!!!!
it is pouring down here - this summer really has been a complete washout. Looked at the tomato plants I've been nurturing for 3 months yesterday and saw they had blight - too much wetness
woo hoo Diz!
wtg diz
Ho Oggy
good morning all :)
Hi Sprite
hiya Glant!
hiya, spritey
i think i will call it a night, here. enjoy the grid. lickety's list is available. see you at the flip.
morning all
night granny - sleep tight
night, g'rose, hope the new meds work for you
Hi Rbud
hi rbud! Sorry I left you so sudden yesterday, should have said I was leaving.
*backs up hurriedly* {{{sprite}}}how was your holiday?
night rose, big *hug*
my holiday was good, very relaxed. How have you been holding up?
hi oggy
ups and downs, dear. when you have time, i emailed you re the packages. no big hurry. going back to work next week. :(
I have seen your email, yes, it is in my "urgent, reply' file :) Omg, work, already... that is intense. :(
Hi Sprite
lol, the bills need to be paid. it's nearly 10 weeks, my friend. doesn't time fly when you are having fun?
*grins* yeah, especially that kind of fun. My husband will need only 2 weeks, thank God, if all goes well.
thoughts and prayers for you both. you need the support too, friend. hope all goes well.
thanks rose :) That is so sweet. I think all will go well. Can you believe he doesn't even have real pain? I hope it stays that way!
so do i, spritey. as i keep telling myself, this pain is going to get better, not worse.
You are right! But it is tough going while the going is painful. I pray your pain will be taken from you very very soon. *hugs* Dear one.
good morning
morning ruby!
morning Ruby
are my two favorite babblers here?
lol... depends on who they are ;)
{{{{ruby}}}}}, my dearest.
three, I didn't see glanta!!!!
*sulking in the corner*
:-)
too late to sulk, Glant :) You are spotted, noticed and loved!
I'm sorry about your tomatoes, glanta, ours are wonderful -- small, tough-skinned but delicious and I have to water them every day. One year all the tomatoes in this whole valley turned black (was it blight?)
thanx for your email, dear ruby. will reply a little later, like after my first day back at work. wait, i won't need to email anyone...you all will hear me from wherever in the world you are.
we will? That is awesome.
and the garden is fine if you can overlook the brown crunchy lawn
these started getting black pathes on the stems and brown patches on the fruits. Never seen this before, looked it up and it seems that I have blight
it seems to be different every year
*patches
just rain rain rain this year. We actually had a dry day yesterday, first one for ages
and Maybe THE FIGS WON'T FALL OFF. The first crop all did (except for the one I shared with a bird)
my lawn is brown and crunchy too...oh. it's the stone topping we have had put down...to create a flat, even surface for mother mac to access and walk on safely.
we had all our rain in Apr and May and very little since
I have been in my newish hosue for 6 m onths now, so I started moving furnoture and things round yesterday
total chaoes surrounds me LOL
black bottom tomatoes can have blossom-end rot. The soil needs calcium--I'm trying Tums ground up but I think calcium pills would work also.
oh nice! That is always so rewarding.
I'm tempted to do what they do in working-class NY neighborhoods, they pave over the grass and paint the cement green!
not bl;ack bottoms, just brown patches, fruits are all plump and shiny
OK
if you do that, ruby, make sure you make little holes in the cement so you can stick in the plastic flowers....
can you salvage some and make sauce (unless they're too squishy)
it will be rewarding when it's all tidy again sprite - as long as I don;t lose the will to live half way through
and maybe a plastic flamingo or two
i've picked the green ones and they are on a tray on the widowsill in the vague hope thye ay turn red if we ever get any sun
*giggles* It has to get worse for it to get better, Glant... you will be fine... and you'll be enjoying your new placement of the furniture so much.
OK, my tomatoes have something different. Our lack of rain in NJ hasn't helped.
lol, sprite, yuck!!!! and ruby!!! don't you dare!!!
som concrete gnomes would just finish that off nicely
oh yes, let's not forget the plastic flamingos!
maybe green tomato chutney (I've never made it, but I've had it and it's delish)
I forgot about the gnomes!
this is a decidedly unfriendly grid. Not even halfway and already out of steam. What... out of any kind of forward movement actually.
black bottoms - according to my book - are bottom end rot, caused bu lack of water. No cure.
hey, don't under-rate the gnomes!!!! all the best gardens have plaster gnomes in them! don't they? huh? don't they?
don't the gnomes come in plastic too nowadays? WOuld be nice... so easy to spray clean.
thought of green tomato chutney but there are not enough - i only have about 20 small tomatoes
don't laugh, but we have a plastic heron in the fishpond which seems to be keeping the real predator away! and he's in with the reeds, so actually looks nice
i have 55 and am struggling sprite - not friendly at all
I have seen the heron and it is really life-like. No shame there. :)
which reminds me....anyone here seen the film ' fried green tomatoes' ?
let's shake the grid and see if we can make better combinations, Glant!
i saw it a LONG time ago - heart warmong
sorry, no I have not, rose
loved that movie, rose.
ready when you are sprite - got a corner?
maybe you could bread them and fry them, glant, would be tasty as a side dish
one.... two.... three.... AND HEAVE!
what a movie! sprite, yo just have to join the sisterhood and watch it.
ok rose! Writing it down so I can remember.
I am saving "Marigold" for when DIL comes in Sept as she knows how to work the TV and I don't
fried green tomatoes at the (something) cafe was the whole title - wish i could remember the name of the cafe LOL
what's Marigold about?
whistle stop cafe?
whistle stop cafe
okay. Don is wandering in and out of the kitchen, looking hopefully at the stove, to see if dinner is on yet. which it isn't! for gosh sakes...it's only 5:50pm....
shaking hasn't helped much sprite
lol... I think Dan needs to cook today then.
we should have thrown a couple more letters when we did it...
no it hasn't, Glant :( Stubborn little darn tiles...
oh, glant, ' the best exotic marigold hotel' has to be one of the best movies of recent release.
it is a wonderful movie about a group of English retirees who go to India because their pensions are too small to live decently in the UK. Judi Dench, Bill Nishy, Maggie Smith, etc. I can't wait (but will have to :(
who is in it?
Nighy*
oh, that sounds GOOD - great cast list
Bill Nighy and Judi Dench are two of my most favorites
i must see if i can rent it - or maybe watch it with my daughter in a few weeks
both written down
Judi Dench is just fabulous
did anybody see Love, Actually where Bill Nighy plays an old rock star (patterned on Iggy Pop, I think) and is an absolute hoot!
and Maggie Smith was wonderful in the Prime of Miss Jean brodie
ruby, Don and i watched it again 2 weeks ago. we still got something more out of it. it is one of those films, the more you watch, the more you see.
Saw Love, Actually, not bad
and in the Room with a View!
baco = baccardi-cola. Stupid enable.
oh, yes, ruby
although it was a little bit sappy, it had a great ending and I am not sufficiently critical!
An old film I love is 'A Matter of Life and Death' made by Powell and Pressburger, starring David Niven - innovative use of colour when colour films were just starting to be made
I've seen Room With a View at least 4 times and like it better each time
don't know it, glant, making a note
Room with a view was a very good film
finally halfway. Pffff.
P & P also made The Red Shoes, Black narcissus and a n umber of other classic films of the 40s & 50s, any film they made is worth a watch
ooohhhh, forgot to tell yo all. mother mac's daugter is taking her for the weekend. picking her up friday night and bringing her back sunday. Don and i are planning to go out for lunch/dinner and a movie.
<-- loved The Red Shoes -- Moira Shearer
a night of romance, eh?
nice, Rose
oooohhhh rose how lovely! That is awesome. You are so due for that.
whistle stop cafe. Morning all!
hi Jayk :)
hi jayk
Hi Jay
uh oh, DH is back with the groceries and roses
see you later, kids
oh, yeah. it doesn't take much to get my man steamed up these days.
a man who brings roses can't be all bad :-)
bye rose
bye ruby
4 am here. but i am apparently...................up.
sorry, bye ruby
good morning then Jay
*poof*
roses???? ruby, you been a good girl, AGAIN?
poor Jayk :(
yeah. this is increasingly my wake-up time. Age.
DH is very lucky to have her. I like it that he shows appreciation :)
I wnet through a phase of that. I started to do quiet creative stuff with the extra hours. Now it's 6am.
very early, Jayk. Not a bad time of day though. So pleasantly peaceful.
he doesn't seem to very often
now, i really do have to * poof *. love, hugs and kisses to all.
it is always hard to judge a relationship from the outside. The only people who really know are the ones inside of it.
bye rose
yes actually i do love having four hours or so to myself--especially in the dark, oddly
bye rose *hugs!* Take care of you.
true sprite. just going by what ruby says
I visited them and they are bo4 beautiful people.
she has sounded happier of late
this grid is turning into less of a word search and more of a logic puzzle
I really wish for her to be happy :)
I think I am gonna use the clue list today. I am at 76 and so so stumped.
I am at 67 and listed at 65. It's not helping much LOL
lolllll ok.... here goes nothing then!
actually the list does mean that the monkeys have some parameters
but how thee are 4 letter words i can't find, i don;t know
how dispiriting! i'm just starting and it's looking like a sweet cruise
poor lil' monkeys
the little monkeys are having to work very hard indeed today
Jayk, maybe you will sail right through!
different minds see different things - i have had grids i thought were easy where others struggled, and vice versa
that seems exceedingly doubtful.
same here, Glant. I have felt stupid very often in babble, lol.
i think i will find it hard to find today's big words as they are somewhat isolated
remember that 744? (may we never again!) that took all day
i've never seen one bigger than the high 300s
but it was a wonderful day. Great chat, great grid. Good challenge :)
hah! finally found the ag4 i've been looking for LOL
and wasn't there an 8 about a year ago?
800?
missed that too
no, nothing below 20 is accepted, as far as I know.
I found the biggies! Do you want a clue?
yes please
no, the 744 was the biggest ever
no an actual 8. as in 7 + 1
ac9/10 combo, think fear of heights.
8, now that would be very disappointing
there is a minimum size for the grids to be accepted. I believe it is set at 20.
*tries to squish 'vertigo' into ac9*
really? I could swear I remember an 8
*giggles* You need the more official name, Glant. Ending in the greek word for 'fear'.
I don't think so, Jayk, but I could be wrong.
*runs off to greek dictionary*
in my experience, you are rarely--or never--wrong
roflollllll can I please quote you on that to my teenagers? :D :D
feel free!
Glant: think fear of spiders - arachna~. Fear of people who love people from the same sex - homo~. Etc.
got it
ty
good :) Do you know the summit of ac10?
it is being afraid to eat your soup from a soup plate.
really? people are afraid of that?
*giggles* No... that was a (bad) joke.
which i would only get if i had the ac10...
The best ph6 of all time: Anatidae-- which is, and I am not making this up, the fear that somewhere a duck is always watching you.
ROFLMAO dachef
lol yes I heard of that one. Brilliant, Dachef :)
waves at dachef through the rainclouds
obvious apologies to any babblers currently hiding behind their sofa worried about the impending appearance of a mallard.
and Hexakosioihexekontahexa~ is also a fun one. Fear of the number 666.
oh I am not making fun of the fears. Just of the names. Being deeply afraid is not fun at all.
stopped raining here Glan, momentarily. Oh no, wait, its raining again.
mallards are fine. It's mandarins that scare me...
sprite: I'll remember that one for scrabble.
it won't fit, lol
lol Glant... the chinese ones or the orange ones?
any/all
:D That is severe. Maybe eating the duck one with the orange one in company of a Chinese one might bring about a cure?
that sounds like aversion therapy - willing to give it a go if you'll come and hold my hand while i do it
Can anyone help with the ni7?
absolutely! I will never leave someone in fear.
hi anike, not yet, but will help look for it
it's a date then :-)
ni + vowel + ba4
thanks Glant
some kind of crystalline substance apparently
oh all the things we learn from babble...
Got it TY Glan - thought I had tried that. Fireworks. Must go and visit mother now (95 next month)
wow, a respectable age. Gratz anike and have a good visit.
woo hoo anike
TY - bye for now. Happy babbling
finally. down to 50. saving for tonight as must make this mess more respectable before visitors arrive. really not sure why i thought m oving a large book case form one room to another was a good idea LOL
rain now so heavy it is drumming on the patio
because it will look better there :) Good luck, dear Glant.
so we won't be lunching outdoors LOL
happy babbling all - see you this evening
sadly, the predictions were correct. down to 49 and see nothing
then you did better than I, Jayk... I hit a brick wall before halfway today.
Hello Sprite & Jayk
hi lyn :) xxx
MUST someday memorize all words beginning with a vowel!
oh I know. Vowel words are so much harder to remember and to sp4.
fireflies. Tough little grid. Learned some new words. Bye all, ahve fun!
congrats Sprite! have a good day
good morning my friends;)
hi Cross

When I get older, losing my hair, many years from now Will you still be sending me a valentine, birthday greetings, bottle of wine? If I'd been out 'til quarter to three, would you lock the door? Will you still need me, will you still feed me when I'm sixty-four? You'll be older too Ah, and if you say the word, I could stay with you I could be handy, mending a fuse when your lights have gone You can knit a sweater by the fireside, Sunday mornings, go for a ride Doing the garden, digging the weeds, who could ask for more? [From: http://www.elyrics.net/read/b/beatles- lyrics/when-i_m-64-lyrics.html ] Will you still need me, will you still feed me when I'm sixty-four? My SIL just found out she's going to need surgery for her diverticulitis. She also needs a new knee and a new hip. I think she should negotiate for a group discount.
If only they would do it that way! Poor thing!
wow, Judi, that's nasty - positive thoughts for your SIL
She is the queen of procrastination. She walks around with all this pain. I'm one of those weird people who would rather have surgery than live on pain meds.

Hi flosey. Just starting and going to look for flooring later this morning.
hi there stidgmere, sorry to have missed that gathering, we too should be out looking for new kitchen/breakfast nook/entry flooring
when the piano was moved out of here, a bit of the flooring (at the entry) went with it - so forced to get new which is needed anyway, just can't decide
new flooring sounds exciting :)
We wallpapered and now need to finish the project. Our weather cooperates with indoor improvements, don't you think?
ah yes, might as well get it done now so you can enjoy the sunshine when it returns
hope you will post pics when you are done, stid
Sometimes I think I need a designer but usually I can choose colors and textures that work well. With stiddy's help, I can post pictures. Otherwise I get too many pixels in and ruin the chog.

hey saanich -- just was thinking about you-all. we have had several days/nights of rain down here! Autumn has arrived. And I still haven't picked enough blackberries to freeze. *sigh*
Comes from Greek for outdoor market
and hello again teach -- I was chatting online (LOVE that feature) with an insurance rep re: Grant's driver's license. Turns out we can get the full discount for driver's ed if he does just the driving with instructor portion, not the class portion! I made him pass the written driving test in order to get his permit... :-)
Rain rain -- if only it would rain here! then the blackberries will plump up; looks like a good crop. I'll make you some red pepper jelly and some bb jam too.
Mmmm!
:-) never had red pepper jelly -- is it sweet, or spicy?
sweet = can you tolerate it?
That will save him both time AND money --
i luv red pepper jelly with cream cheese& crackers
probably, but I can't have things that have any butter/margarine, you know (one of my friends always puts a dollop of butter in her jams and so I can't even taste them)
ooohhhh you ar making me drool. Very good with roast chicken and pork too.
I like peppers, actually (not the burns the mouth ones, but the milder ones)
The jelly I make has nothing but red peppers, pectin, lemon juice = the taste is heavenly. Have not found any store-bought to equal it.
4th row o?
okay, that D on the right. I thought I had NBT and that D on the right... is it a DH? a DA? *sigh* nudge please so I can go list?

PLEASE do! My basement is almost gutted now and will be pure soon.
interesting.i have never heard of red pepper jelly
got the DH! NBT (finally)
:-) I'll bring watercolors and brushes and my (very cheap) artist's easel and we can play...
strange cross --- have you heard of its relative, bacon jelly? *wicked mama look*
now bacon jelly sounds interesting hehe
and the DA! :-)
rofl
let me know when you have a batch made up
well, first I need to get some bacon...
none of that american bacon..ill have to send you some good stuff
That would be great Stid because I am turning the basement into an art studio. Also I bet bacon jelly would actually be popular!
*puffs up with indignation* we are having bacon made from the half a pig we watched grow up! (well, we watched the WHOLE pig grow up, but only got half of it)
hi everyone, just in and out - speaking of pepper jelly, I use to make a hot red pepper jelly - must do some again this year
hey flosey! (((many hugs))) hope you are well
Next time you come north Stid, bring a cooler and we will load you up with real bacon.
crossy bacon, red pepper jelly and cream cheese bagels .....yum
yummers
*wonders if meat can cross the border*
hi (stid) will be sending off a note when I get the address from jill
like a mail note? I can send it to you if you like
lol stidmama, knowing the bacon personally does not always mean a quality bacon
when I tried sending tea to CA, the only way I could was through the company, can't send it personally
oh, and I forgot to send you a happy anniversary message, too. sorry about that. congrats on 80-million years!
canadians living in states don't get the same tea they were use to so always bought it when visiting
no, wait, that was the age of the fossils... "several decades" might be more accurate?
I always come home with some Murchies tea. :-)
lol stid, thanks, I really don't feel like an old fossil
HELLO FLOSEY!
you don't look much like a fossil, either!
(shouting across the great water)
Another session of We Are Canadians and We Can Moan
that's what I had to do stid, sent through Murchies but that wasn't what they wanted, they wanted plain old Red Rose - don't know what was so special about it but what you are accustomed to I guess
who's moaning BR
yes,who is moaning?
Hehehe
yes, the red rose down here is different from your red rose -- I actually drink our red rose as my "work tea" and save murchies for days I really need a boost or want to feel elegant.
do not recall a single moan.offered to send some bacon down
hey BR *sits on a maple log and opens a can of Molsons while wearing a touque*
ah yes, but the US bacon is just not the same, that's all, again, what one becomes accustomed to
and eating poultine
I had never heard of poutine until here in Babble
my mrs says down fla way it is nasty stuff
and cannot imagine eating it, ugh
Moan, moan, moan
sounds awful
well, I am down to under 50, and the sun is shining, and I feel awake finally. I am SO GLAD I was on when you-all were here!
ho hum BR
so are we stid!
moan, moan, moan
I will return anon, apace, at some time hence... *fades into the wings as the music crescendos* *p o o f*
we best be careful ladies, they might bomb us,if we make them upset..lol
the only one making moany noises is you, BR!
*last, fading cheshire cat grin for BR*
bye stid
I have 5 to get but am rushing around doing wash and rushing to be out of here by noon
and HI SAANICHCAT sorry, wasn't ignoring you, just rushing

Ah the good old days. Starting school after Labor Day, the way it's supposed to be. : )
OK, I need two co4/8's and two co4/5's Please
She won't give you desks? Where are the kids supposed to sit?
Was hoping she wouldn't return. She did unfortunately!
My question exactly MollyL!
A difficult principal is bad for everyone. Teachers, students and parents.
co 4/8 word rhymes to 4/7 word and other anagram of fo 5/18 word minus a letter rumplestiltskin9.
co 4/5 word is the fibre prepared from the husk of the coconut, used in making rope and matting(put definition into Reverse Dictionary). Other co4/5 sounds like what you wear outside in the Winter and another is the price.
I had problems with her all last year also. Hopefully this will be her last year with us. But I hope that every year.
I remember you having problems with her last year. Too bad she has returned.
The school tested badly last year in ELA & Math which usually means you get a new Principal, however, not us
That's too bad.

I am laughing at JMC being jealous that you have now met more Babble players than her, Sue. : D
tee hee - she's just going to have to get back out on the road!
Maybe next year I'll get to go...
I was going to go visit crossy and carlee this fall, but I'm working instead so it will have to wait until next summer
I am glad you had a good babble meetup uusue2. I may be planning one for next summer up in Vermont, would you be interested in it? Don't U live in Massachusettes?
And I'll be in the DC area in December 2013 when our son graduates
You may gain quite the advantage if you go on your planned Babble travels this summer.
I live in Illinois, min, but have relatives in New Jersey and New Hampshire
so sure, I'd be interested!
BTW uusue, how is the new job going?
For some reason I thought you lived in Massachusettes
I start on Tuesday, Jilly, but met with the old chair and the dean today, and have lots to read
I am always envious of those who attend babble meets
I was in Massachusetts in May, min, for my college reunion - maybe that was it
And how did Frank survive your absence?
Min you should see if you can get some of the Canadians down to Vermont.
Oh, probably. I drive past that everytime I go to Vermont
he was actually pretty sick when I got home, Jill, and he didn't tell me about it as he didn't want me to worry
his ulcers are back :-( - I got him some different medicine and hopefully they will clear up on their own
Oh dear??!!
he's feeling quite a bit better now
That's cuz you're back to love him back to health!
only 3 c's left - cr4/5, cr4/6, cr5/14?please
indeed :-)
also I remind him to eat
Sue, how is your sick friend doing?
Eating is a good thing!
he is going into hospice, molly; his cancer is almost definitely pancreatic so he has decided against chemo
Oh, what a shame. But hospice is very, very good.
yes - they should be able to control both his pain and his nausea, and he is looking forward to that
cr4/5=common name minus a consonant cr4/6 is a sowed field cr5/14 is crunchy
Pancreatic cancer can vary in outcome, when I worked in Hospice we had many live quite a while and Hospice is very life quality focused..
we are hopeful, jilly, but he already has metastases in his liver, lungs, and bones
he really wants to get well enough to get back to our UU fellowship - we are his family now - he wanted to come last week but was too nauseous
Any way you all could "bring a service" to him?
thank you Jillyjill. I already had that 5/14, need the last one. So sorry about your friend uusue2, I just had a very good friend pass away from pancreatic cancer. He was in hospice also.
we've been live streaming them to him on skype, and recording the services for him, but it's not the same, he really wants to be there in person
we've thought about the choir (in which he sang) going to him and singing - maybe we'll do that this weekend since it is a holiday
thanks for the thoughts, and sorry about your friend too, rumple
got the c's, Need dh5?
That would be nice, Sue. And it would brighten things up for the other people where he is.
yes, we are going to try to arrange it (means getting a bunch of people in the same place at the same time, which is always tricky)
uusue: see if your Hospice has a thanatology music program...really quite amazing what it can do for Hospice patients. They did a big study/national program here in Missoula a few years back
dh5 sounds kind of like southwestern mud bricks
dh 5/18 word is dh plus The G*** Desert rumplestiltskin.
interesting, Jilly! I will look into that.
thanks, Min.
yw

That's okay Wht. A lot of people don't know what a definite article is, which is why I try not to use it when cluing.
ni7 is a compound using an element whose name begins with ni (and it's not nitrogen)
or, ni + vowel + ba4/6
thanks sue. I have been stuck on nitrogen..............
