te 8 def is: a basaltic rock consisting essentially of pyroxene and plagioclase with nepheline or leucite.
wtg cos, would you consider a clue?
family past?
no he 8/45 is a compound transition word he 8/55 has to do with ancestry
ok thanks - I have the 8/55
te 8 sounds like te + a huge scare (only spelled phonetically)

reading back, the th9 is th9/60 very sorry for my oversite
i don't see the th 9.. what does it relate to?
ruru, comes directly after the second th7
the5/12, x 3, in a row, the7/32, x 2, th9/60
extend the second th7
okay, 3rd quarter break. *sigh* this is gonna be a nail-biter
the7/32 x 4
anike, the second run of th7/32, is where the th9 is
Got that thanks rose - back to grand final
May I please have a clue for th7-32 the 1st? Thanks
Dont understand AFL - part of my Aussie citizenship test that didn't exist!!!
1 point the difference, and 4th quarter has just started
peach, alternative spelling of th7, second

LOL, sorry, I don't have that one either. Thanks anyway.

Bless you, rose. Thanks much.

just because the lions aren't he5? understandable.
please bear with me guys and gals...9 minutes to go.
OMG...IT'S EQUAL ALL!!!! AAAGGHH!
wow, 99,000 people at the AFL final! Looks like Austrialian rules football is a combo of football (aka Soccer in the rest of the world) and some American football (aka US football). And the final is like the US Super Bowl.
you got it one, marais. this is a nail-biter
Good luck to the Hawks. And the players do look quite nice. My DH is sleeping upstairs after his big 47th birthday.
thanx, marais. either way i'll be a little tipsy tonight, lol
Hi all
hey dianne
rose - I see you are a happy camper today.
in more ways than one, dianne.lol
Do I dare to ask?
30 seconds to go, and the hawks need 10 points. :( i need a drink!!
THE SWANS WON!!!! so well-played, both teams. must ring my son and commiserate.
I have he8 and te 8 - what is the other 8?
2 he8's, dianne
o.k. thanks
Yay!! for the swans!!
anike, all played so well, but the swans were able to hold onto the ball more.
I shouldn't really cheer them - they have been the eagles nemesis for many years but we who are not Victorians tend to support the non-Victorians
;P to you.... understandable, though.
Back t o this game now
The he 8 I have is - present plus 3 goes **** 6 two times. A clue for the other one, please.
it's so lovely, the individual medals are being handed out by very young swan supporters, and the players are giving them each a club hat
dianne, your ancestry
Ty for ancestry clue :)
Ty for ancestry clue :)
thanks rose
See one player nearly forgot to hand over the hat and went chasing the little boy
yes, so cute....they are all such great young men.
dianne, did you get it?
Yes, thanks
Will have to pick up Adam soon - his boss put on a show for the game - didn't have enough people respond so was going to turn it into a thank you for Adam's sponsors but left it too late to organise. Nice thought though

When the game is this size I like to try to do it without the list but I almost always need help with the last few. Thanks again.
I use the list from the beginning. So much for too many of grad school.
**too many years of grad school
well if it's a big game and I don't have much time I use the list as soon as it's posted.
Need to go and get some stuff done.
bye
Hi folks. Just started, but 2nd word HE5/21 reminded me, I've not noticed our antipodean friend herinfernallady on the chat for ages, anyone know why?
I'm new...I dont know her.
Welcome Marais. I'm not a great chatter but you get to know the regular players and when they "go awol" !
.......you wonder.
I noticed that.
herin pops in every now and again ... she was going to school .... I don't think she plays anymore
Thanks BR, how are you these days?

doesn't start with the he 4/5
Boo, grain used for birds?
something that comes or belongs to one by reason of birth
ty sue, was trying to use the he 4/5
yw
Yes it is a white grain that grows very tall
not rice
No
I'm stumped. Should I know this?
I googled it.
Not sure how to clue it
I Googled tall white grain and didn't see it
he + 3 letter fish( real one) plus a vowel
good clue poodle!
ty poodletoes
very good clue
'yw
bbl
Try tall white grain for game birds
That's a small Labradoodle poodletoes
??? what is a small labradoodle??
your doggie photo
oh she was a pup then. 60lbs now
ty boo
Is he just a puppy or is he a mix of a mini poodle
You must have lots of fun with her
i want a mastiffdoodle
3/4 standard poo + 1/4 lab
lots of drool crosy
got to go
lol
or a newfiepom
bbl
A Shitzoo. A ShizhTsu and a poodle
they have em i think
Clue for he8/55
Yes, we always make jokes about them.
he 8/55 is what you pass down to your offspring
something that comes or belongs to one by reason of birth
next dog,if ever(we have grown to like cats) it will be a very small one so there is no need for walks.all you do is open a window and hold them out of it at arms length and squeeze
Ty
very funny crossy.
:)
rofl
maybe a peedle,crossy?
a miniature peedle?
what if we mix a tea cup poodle with a mini dobie?
a dobidoodle
there's such a thing as a mini-dobie?
there is
no bigger that those mexican dogs that walk around and shake all day
c
Right a min pin
and bark all day
ankle biters
min pins are not miniature dobes
i want a mini dobie male with a newfoundland bitch..it will show he was really trying hehe i envisions a 180 pound dobie
isn't a min pin a miniature Pinscher
or other way a skinny shaking 3 pound newfie
yes but doberman pinschers are not related to mini pins
well, while you two hash our cross breeds,i best hunt for a word or 2
learn somethig new here every day dobie. What is the mini pin related to?
not sure but I speak from the dobie side of things
pe
might be a mix of an Italian Greyhound and dachshund
I think related to a Affenpinscher
b
"The Miniature Pinscher is not a scaled-down, version of anything, especially the much larger Doberman Pinscher, although both are likely descended from the German Standard Pinscher. It is a distinctly German breed often referred to as the Zwerg or Dwarf Pincher in historical documents. German Kennel Club documents also refer to the Miniature Pinscher as the "reh" Pinscher, but this term is only used for a dog of stag-red color, "reh" referring to a small red deer found in German forests years ago. The one fact remains that the Miniature Pinscher originated several centuries ago as an efficient barnyard ratter, with no relation to the Doberman or the Manchester Terrier. "
but I digress - just a dobie person at heart but the min pins are very nice dogs if you like the small guys and girls
I like a dog you can wrap your arms around
And now, after killing the chog I shall stay away for a while.
Morning folks
good morning Mr Bob and jmb and all others
morning!

pan seared would be lovely ru, thanks
Hi Min
I am we'll thank you
Flosey, I looked it up. Mon copain Pi7. It's all in French so that is all I got, except a few words here and there.
ah.. my friend pI7
yes, the person singing it needed a nib for his pen, there was a light in his window but he wouldn't answer the door
HE was a famous clown .. on posters and everythign
everything
this was way before George Bush however
who took the ball and ran with it
well before, ru, I was in public school at the time we sang it
Here you go Flosey, You Tube has everything. http://tinyurl.com/95yuxpv
thanks Molly - that tune would be running through my head forever
well, maybe for a little while
I can see why Flosey. My hopelessly Anglo brain will rub it out soon.

Hello uusue2
I am well, thanks.I wasn't going to enter chog this early.

So now I'm going to go so I can take dog on a walk.BBL
*POOF*
We Anglos called that song Clair De La Lune
don't remember that much of it Molly, would have been about 7 or 8 at the time I think we sang it in mixture of french/english
I will have to start describing myself as an Anglo now too. :D
thanks ru, finally got it, this crazy song running through my head
could be worse flosey.. we could start playing Barry Manilow
Got that from my husband. Along with the withering look anytime I tried to pronounce something in French.
lol
Clair De La Lune is big with music teachers who want to teach basic note progression.
lol - all from a clue!
interesting, Molly
Well, better than me saying that word reminds me of Ross Pe5. Since we are under a gag order about "you know what".
*wipes coffee off screen*
And me trying to clue it using the French word for "rock" would be worse than useless, I suppose.
gtood afternoon all
hi wv!
The French have dozens of words for Rock
Well Sue, that is a "kinda". I used to know someone named Pi4rette and that means little stone.
true. It's also the french version of the name Peter.
yes, depending on how it is used
wonder how you'd say picked a peck of pickled peppers in French?
Me: Is ___ the French word for ____? Husband: Well, that's one of them. Me: *Rolls eyes and walks out of room*
ha, my French is too rusty for that, ruru!
where's Une?
Choisi un peck de piments. That's one way. There are probably ten others.
what I found most difficult when I was living in France was figuring out what my son was talking about - he was learning colloquial French from other children and a lot of it wasn't in the dictionary (although I did find the books Merde and Merde Encore to be very useful :-)
also when the school sent home lists of things for field trips, even the words borrowed from English were borrowed from British English, so I still needed a translator :-)
and I'm still trying to find re6/21 (after the 6/24)and re5/14 after 7/32)
how long did you live in France, Sue
re + give someone a job back
well, you are way ahead of me, flosey!
back at ya molly
thanks ru
I spent a year in Geneva, Switzerland (not France but right on the border) and then went back several times a year for many years, including 2-3 months every summer for about 5-6 years
lovely
(I was working at CERN, the European high energy physics lab, did a sabbatical there and then worked remotely with frequent visits)
was a single mom for most of that time so my son came with me pretty much everywhere
ah, hubby would have loved that, he taught HS physics
it was pretty cool :-)

"how can i have smore if i don't know what it is?"
First you take the graham. You stick the chocolate on the graham. Then, you roast the mallow. When the mallow's flaming, you stick it on the chocolate. Then you cover it with the other end. Then, you stuff. Kind of messy, but good!
Second edition of a book

Afternoon All

Hello hego! How are you doing? Welcome to the chog.
amazing, isn't it?
Golf rained out?
I was thinking the exact same thing cosdem. GMTA!!
Well, football season ended last night in Australia. I'm guessing he didn't go to the game.
ahhh gotcha :)
Hmmm.....i heard it was golf.
back to hopefully finish this
some guy thing, anyway.
Hi Annie
I'm just guessing Hego. You have your finger on the pulse of Babble things more than I do.
hi hego :)
molly we did the plunge!
we got rid of cable yesterday!
<--watches where she puts her fingers...
120.00 a month saved.
and u know what? i was watching tv and they had syndicated reruns on over the air channels til 2am so there's always something on.
Molly, your profile reminds of a woman who lied about having a disease. Others made donations to help pay for her wedding. Her husband found out about it and divorced her. I think she had to pay the donors back.
what! give up homeland!! : o
never watched homeland anyway. and the only cable shows i watch are reruns, and american horror story and they will be on dvd soon.
Good for U,giving up cable! Wish I had that willpower.
My brother and sister don't even own a television set
with netflix and hulu --- no need for cable. plus every tv show is or will be on dvd.
What is hulu?
www.hulu.com check it out. u can watch latest tv shows on there
I used to subscribe to netflix, but I don't really watch movies. Plus, I have to be able to watch my soaps on SoapNet & hubby has to be able to watch his Yankees
ah yes. sports. we dont watch sports here lol
Oh, I do not watch any TV shows, just cable movies. I do not like any of the TV shows that are on television
hulu has movies too. they also have old tv shows from the 1980s like Alf, old school Degrassi, addams family, etc
I could watch soaps on laptop, but husband still needs to watch his sports. We pay for a sports package for one stupid baseball team. It is a total waste of money
arent NY games on local channels for u?
Sometimes they play on local channels, but they often play on YES channel&it only comes w/sports package.
oh how fun
Plus, hubby like the Pittsburgh Steelers which isn't NY
He is SOOOOO spoiled! He has to have a smart phone, his sports stations and his expensive lawn equipment.
hi all. have he 8. what are others please?
After I leave, I won't have to pay for any of that crap
he 8 x 2

ok now for te 8. what are those clues again?
min how are you today?
te8: middle letter is an F but not the letter F
Well at least he is financially supporting his disease. I am having to pay for hubby's beer which sounds silly.
te + sun god + F + not out
he has a disease?
YES big time!
te + sun god + not wrong (sorry!)
I refer to his alcoholism as a disease. That is what it is
okk i give up. i keep cluing te8 wrong.
sun god was from egypt right? and the F is not an F and i dont see it connected to the opposite of out. confused.
ah ok min -- was making sure. alcoholism is a diesase yes. can someone else please clue te8 for mkg i keep getting it wrong lol
not wrong: where is the F????????????
te8/50 word is te plus 2 letter F sound plus the ri 4/4

I just read back and saw your comment Min. It's pathetic when people lie about things that serious just to get attention.
Hello jesdraggon! How are you doing? Welcome to grid
at5 clue please?
a + fall down
thanks, cos!
Hate it when other people lie period, whether it's for attention or not. Some just lie and see nothing wrong with it. I don't get it. I am such a stickler about lieing
Pathological liars lie about everything. Most people lie because they are afraid of getting in trouble. Pathological liars lie because they get their jollies from it. Sick, sick people.
Think pathological liars sometime do not even realize that they're lieing or they truly believe their own lies
was just about to ask for a clue for the at6 but decided to look over grid once more and found it!
Oh no, they know they are lying. Especially the ones who lie on the internet.

Min, pajamas are great for home. Not so great for out grocery shopping.
*on
I walk my dog around the block in PJs sometimes.I am sure I get some stares by drivers, but I do not care.
Sheesh!!! If my memory was any good, I would be the best liar on the planet. Sadly, to be a good liar, one needs to remembr one's lies........... (I can remember the summer of '79, but can't remember what I ate for dinner last night...)
Hi Soodle and all you Babble Folks
me too Soods
hi Bichon
Truth be told (pun pun) liars don't always remember things. That is how they get found out. Like, they say they are 47 one year and the next year they are 49. Oops.
Hello bichon! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
I had a friend like that!
Hello Bich ((()))))))
I can remember the summer of 79 too. Skylab fell.
We all know people only age ten years on soap operas
She looked okay for her age, but crapy for the age she said she was. lol
my first boss wore a dress which looked like a dressed up housecoat...pink with black buttons, The only distinguishing feature were the black lapels, otherwise a housecoat.
funny Pav
Oooh, I think lying about one's age is perectly acceptable........I am Sooo looking forward to my 21st birthday next year :-P
then you can drink legally!!
I can't wait............
LMAO!!!

pe7/32: The movie Evita is about Eva Pe 6/21 cosdem
It's the why bother generation. Why bother spelling correctly? Why bother getting dressed? Why bother getting a job?
I must be old and crabby. If an email or a blog has misspelling, I don't read it.
Not crabby Harp. You just have respect for the English language. Good for you.
Hello harpjane! How are you doing? Welcome to puzzle
Harp. You are in good company here. Old and crabby rocks!
It really bugs me when teachers can't be bothered to spell correctly.

Final clue for re 5 /16 - little plastic or wooden clip things to hang up washing on line
Rhyming clue is good too

and it is not mystical..totally different name

no, it is rather weird. But a lot of women called Peggy are actually named Margaret.

bizzare
asked my wife, she has never heard it either
but we can move on
lol Minver :) Yes, Terra is doing very very well. Still a ray of sunshine every day.
for Crossy: "In search from A to Z they passed, And "Marguerita" chose at last; But thought it sound far more sweet To call the baby "Marguerite." When grandma saw the little pet, She called her "darling Margaret." Next uncle Jack and cousin Aggie Sent cup and spoon to "little Maggie." And grandpapa the right must beg To call the lassie "bonnie Meg." From "Marguerita" down to "Meg," And now she's simply "little Peg.""
re+ to fasten the clothes on the line with wooden split dowels
how odd sprite
and there more info: http://tinyurl.com/9oh8ntn
lol... even "Daisy" is a nickname for Margaret!
This grid is so annoying.
hi Bea
again, agreed
still need 40
Hello all.
hiBea
I kinda like this grid.
Gr 5/14ings everyone! I was a hi 6/21 and hi4/5d some monkeys at th 5/12 'O' clock today to help me get down to one word. I am almost finished so he4/4 is a story of hi5/12s.I am so gr5/14ful that I discovered Babbleand. I ag 5/14 with ot5/12 babblers that this is a gr 5/14 place to be.I tr5/10 myself to some babble time every day. Th 5/12 is no ot 5/12 place I'd rather be. I can wear any at 5/10 in Babbleland.Babblers make me gr 4/6 all the time with their silly chats. Also, Babblers are nice enough to put up with my gr5/16s about hubby.Babblers have big he 5/12s offering words of advice and sympathy. The only thing I re 6/24 about Babble is that I didn't discover it sooner. I can he 4/5 hubby getting ir 5/10 waiting for computer. I better give it to him so he does not fly in 4/4 a ra4/6 and start to th6/21en me & we have a he 4/5ed argument. I do hope you have found some more words with th 4/5 clues. I am going to get off my re 4/4 and go watch "Pi 6/21s of the Caribbean". I never saw it in the movie th 7/32. I will be back later on toni4/4 to help clue before I re 6/18 for the ni 4/4. Goodbye to all for now!
Hello BzznBea!How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
oh lovely, Min!
Thanks sprite!
Hey, Min. Back again for the last 17.
nice, min. thanks, i got a bunch from that one
Hopefully, some of your last seventeen are in my story.
I got several from it, very helpful, and fun :D
You are welcome Dorens and hello! How are you doing
crossy: the same weird M-P switch is found in Molly-Polly.
doing ok. you?
hi Dorens!
hi sprite. you up late tonight?
yeah... can't sleep. Bit stressed and got a nasty cold.
Jumping in to the weird name thing, I was shocked to learn that Polly was short for Mary in the old days
sorry for that. i can never sleep with colds. in fact it is the way i can tell i'm getting one sometimes. no sleep
really weird how some things go, isn't it Bugsaw. And hi :)
Hi sprite. Nice to see you again
maggie is everywhere!
how can a 5 letter word be short for a 4 letter word?
yes, exactly! How coolt to know I am not the only one!
no, not short, it is more of a nickname.
and vice versa, Bugsaw. I hope you are well?
I discovered this when I was doing geneology research. A woman had a daughter Mary and when she remarried, her new husband had a daughter Mary. All of a sudden the Mary I was following disappeared and Polly was there. I found an old letter explaining why that happened.
wild indeed, but handy when there are too many marys, margretes,or maggies around
I am well sprite. I am SO enjoying being retired. I am just up from a nap *smileing*
oh Bugs how lovely :)
Hello Bugsaw! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
i intend to join you in two years, bugs
true, crossy. And that was often the case, I think, in the older days, when it was common to name children after parents, or grandparents etc
bugs ,is there a celtic symobol for the 3 stages of man?
Hello Minveryork. Thanks for the story
yay, Dorens :)
thnx Min for the story - very nice
yw
all the kids the melbourne clan had in the 50,s60,s and early 70,s seemed to be from the bible
and middle names were often one parents or the other first name
I don't know crossy but there is a good joke about that. It is along the lines of for each decade of a woman's life she has the wonderful characteristics of various extravagant countries. In all stages, men are from countries that are ruled by nuts.....
once you trace our tree back before 1400,s it differs of course
i know a lot of italian-american related mary's: mary pat, mary diane, mary beth, and you can only tell them apart by the middle name
Oh, Min! Just looked at your beautiful Jack....and a handsome lad he is.
hi peach
less vowels it seems before then
That is a Roman Catholic thing Dorens. All of Robert Kennedy's kids were named Mary Something but are just known as the Something
Minver, your KCC is such a beauty!
Here in the netherlands, even men can be named Maria as a middle (or 3rd, 4rth, 5th) name. If they are Roman Catholic, that is.
uhhuh, bugs. makes sense (most italians i know are catholic, except for the odd italian jew here and there)
Reiner Maria Rilke
Thank you sprite. I LOVE him so much and I was never a dog person. He's just getting over some Lyme Disease
My brother in law, who is a Swedish speaking Finn and not a Catholic, also has Maria as one of his names.
Hello gapeach! How are you?Yes,Jack is so handsome
aw poor boy :( But good that he is getting over it. Me neither, as to being a dog person. Always had cats. But Terra has stolen my he5, and not just mine. We all adore him. Funny little beauty!
Min I did not know dogs could get Lyme disease too. How did you diagnose it since you can't see the ring under the fur? you were very fortunate indeed
hi minver and everyone.. thanks for the help........... hevae been rather upset today as i had to take hubby to hospital last night......... he was having a copd flareup and what seemed like an apparent heart attack
I always found that kind of weird, a man with a totally female name. I think it is meant as asking for protection from Maria, isn't it?
aw smom, that is awful. How are things now?
i shudder at the thought of doing our family tree again.my brother had one done 15 years ago by a u.s firm and it took 6 months and cost over 1000 u.s funds it was lost when his apt in nyc burned
sorry smom. hope things are better now?
so sorry to hear smom - is he ok now
darn crossy. That is a real waste.
welcome to the calming world of Babble sammysmom. You have had quite a scare
thankfully it was not a heart attack, but a severe anxiety attack ... and it seems that a copd flare up is quite common every 6 or 8 monthes.... he is doing better today after large doses of steroids and may be able to come home in 2 or 3 days.......
Hey there, sprite.
it is indeed, fortunatly my da,s sister still has our original coat of arms shield in the uk,so we can go from that
hope you're okay no. must have been quite scary
Ready to go and waiting to tell me where we are meeting...gonna knock off my last 15
sorry to hear that sammysmom. I have anxiety attacks, the first one I thought was a heart attack.
glad he is in good hands and on his way to mend. As Bugs said, time to think of yourself and get your feet back under you... really frightening.
that's good smom
his bp was 210 over 100 and of course, they checked mine and i was damned near that myself........... but once he was stabilised, i calmed down too
i wish your hubby a fast recovery sammysmom
copd can be tough.fil had it
hi LeslieAnn. I get them too sometimes. When you don't know what it is, they can be really really scary.
sammysmom, sorry about husband.Hope he gets home to you safe and sound.I would be scared about that too
thank you all for you well wishes....... i shall tell him... nite all
yes. since i was only 25, i figured it probably wasn't, but it was still terrifying.
give him our best
Oh my samm...hugs and prayers!
night smom, take care.
Bugsaw, I knew that something was wrong with Jack because he was cryinig and yelping a lot. I took him to the vet & he tested positive for Lyme. He's on medicine.
Goodbye sammysmom! I will see you tomorrow maybe.
My cat just got over a bad attack of flesh-eating disease on his face. It was very fast moving but he kept hiding because of the pain and it took longer to get him to the vet.
au clair de la lune....
glad Jack is doing well now
sounds bad, Bugs :(
harvest moon tonight i am told, but rain and overcast here
glad your cat is better too, now

yay jilly actually sprite, i'm the school counselor, but was a guest in the advanced lit class cause their teacher was doing a bit about paris and i like it so much. I brought imported brie and blue cheeses, baguettes and imported confitures. and spoke french. told them when i was in fourth grade we had a teacher who came in and just sang songs with us and taught us colors, numbers, etc no grammar. nothing written. so they asked if i remembered the songs. and i sure did. sur la pont d'avignon, frere jacques et au claire de la lune

same for me crossy
Hello all!
hi gwen
hi gwen
5:45 on the west coast. Hi gwen
Am I just rusty, or is this a bit of a toughie?
it's a weird one
i am not sure what it is to the tune of. if i had to compare it to something i would say row, row your boat. X equals negative B plus or minus the root of B-squared minus 4ac all over 2a, that's cute
i especially enjoy the market on albert-cuyp street and the large assortment of fresh fish .... love cooking for the guys
not the easiest i've done, but not the hardest either, for this size
fun song
Well, i'm definitely rusty
oh yes! The Albert Cuyp is wonderful. Fresh fruit and veggies as well. And not at all expensive.
hi gwenski. It is not a real toughie, but definitely not a real easy one either.
thanks LEslieAnn. I still spell onomatoepia by singing the Mickey Mouse Club song
Congratulations sprite on your fireworks! Hooray for U!
i saw on funny comic on that the other day. hold please.
thanks all :)
lol,it is amazing how often that word comes up in daily conversation lol

Congratulations Shallow One on finishing early! Hooray!

Hello gwenski How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
I love it Leslie Ann!
... the moan of doves in immemorial elms, And murmuring of innumerable bees.
lovely example BR
lol LeslieAnn, nice cartoon!
hi BabbleRable, how nice to see you. Poetic examples.
I remember from latin class... ululare... wolfs howling at the moon.
the last lines of Sir Alfred Tennyson's poem 'Come Down, O Maid'
and sussuravit or something like that... had to do with whispering
Madame Sosostris, famous clairvoyante, Had a bad cold, nevertheless Is known to be the wisest woman in Europe, 45 With a wicked pack of cards. Here, said she, Is your card, the drowned Phoenician Sailor, (Those are pearls that were his eyes. Look!) Here is Belladonna, the Lady of the Rocks, The lady of situations. 50 Here is the man with three staves, and here the Wheel, And here is the one-eyed merchant, and this card, Which is blank, is something he carries on his back, Which I am forbidden to see. I do not find The Hanged Man. Fear death by water. 55 I see crowds of people, walking round in a ring. Thank you. If you see dear Mrs. Equitone, Tell her I bring the horoscope myself: One must be so careful these days.
Hi BabbleRabble! How are you doing? Welcome to chog
I just looked it up BR. It is beautiful now that I am older. I hated Tennyson when I was younger because he took so long to say what he wanted to say.
it takes an older person to know that when something is worth saying, it is worth taking your time saying it ;)
or an Ent, of course
too true sprite. I might have to reread Tennyson. thanks BR
Close, sprite: susurrate
thanks BabbleRabble :) That was it. I remember especially the whole class trying it out.
Hello, Minveryork .... I am cantankerous and a bit stentorian
thanks smores, mine. great cartoon, leslie. dorens still there?
i am shallow
if so i wanted to contribute to the male female first names thing -
ok. am all ears
theres an anecdote from my late teenage years. A classmate of italian descent was called andrea, a commen male first name in italy but not in Germany where andrea is just known as a girls name. So all his life he always had to correct teachers, etc. When he was about to turn 18, as all of us boys, he was invited to physical examination by the army. But as the letter was adressed to andreas dimatteo, he wrote back correcting his name. A few weeks later he received a letter of apologies, never hearing from them again, effectively skipping the draft ;)
great story shallow one. Probably the first time he ever liked his name
haha. that worked. my name being Doren, which is uncommon, I frequently get letters addressed to Mr., as no one is sure just what I am
good for him - bet that made up for a lot of ribbing in school
that will happen more and more in the future Dorens with all the Taylors and Mackenzies etc
oh that is priceless! Well, I really must go and hit the hay. My silly body needs the sleep it won't let me catch. *hugs* to you all and thanks for the help and the gr5 chat.
I often got military types inviting me to join the WACs
Be well, sprite
either more or less, bugs, as it become more frequent that people aren't sure. we have many taylor's and morgan's in our school. i ever know. ni** sprite
sleep well sprite
same here, good night guys, see you later
people thot Babble was a female name then, BR? ;)
nite shallow. join us (get a picture) more often
good night as well to you shallow one. nice to meet you
Be well, Shallow One ... seems to be a misnomer
No, Babble was yet to be when the referenced invitations arrived
good night guys

Nice weather on the island, Bugsaw ?
ty diane
it feels like fall now which is lovely. still hardly any rain tho. I spent an hour sitting in the forrest listening to the leaves floating down to the forrest floor today. It is a great sound
yw wht
Nice pic BR. Not the way I imagine you tho it fits the way you see yourself. you are still a mystery and mysteries are fun.
it's calming, isn't it :-) Are you anywhere near Black Creek ?
No in rural Courtenay. Black Creek is only a 26 minute drive away tho
leavess: susurrate
BR is a great cluer so I am off on a food hunt before I get the heebie jeebies. (I thot of that earlier BR but was talking too much today.) Nite all
we have a nephew there, and my sister has friends who operate an organic farm there.... but I do have cousins in Courtenay and an aunt in royston.
Enjoy your eats Bugsaw !.... we just finished

(decoder) sheeesh... I would never have been a good "real decoder" !
thanks BR... meant that we had just "finished" eating ... I still have 3 words to go !
What did you decode, Diane?
not much... but have just loved games of all sorts... mensa games, etc. so when I first got a computer and found online games, I just chose that name !
Seems to be a good fit.
I could have said... I was a spy in WW 2 lol
I worked in intelligence in Vietnam ... not the real high security stuff ... but enjoyed tracking down troop movements
and now it's my turn to say...seems to be a good fit .
Bombs fell based upon the reports ..... war is a terrible tragedy
Congratulations wvteach on your fireworks! Way to go!
I acknowledge what I said is a contradiction.
Hello wht! How are you doing?Welcome to the chat log.
it certainly is. I have a very good online friend ( from games ) and in my music site who was in Vietnam ... we talk a lot and his dreams still haunt him.
hi Minver
hi Min
Hello dianedecoder! How are you?Do U still have 4 left?

Congratulations dianedecoder on fireworks! Way to go!

i'm just fine. and you?
I'm well mab.Just checking in to see if clues are needed
aTIRE
hi all
BR is that you in your icon?
hi peri
No, peri. The gentleman is much more handsome than I ever have been or will be.
Hello pe4/5winkle! How are you? Welcome back to grid.
BabbleRabble's icon looks like the man who befriended MacCaulay Caulkin in the movie Home Alone. Am I right?
he looks deranged
Wouldn't want to meet him in a dark alley, that's for sure
You are right Min. His name is Roberts (yes Roberts) Blossom.
He also played Ezra Cobb in a movie called "Deranged".
Molly, was Ezra Cobb deranged because he does look deranged as mab said. However, he was nice in Home Alone.Do you remember which scene I am referring to?
I remember him from Home Alone. I didn't see deranged.
I'm watching a terrible movie called "The Hole" about a girl who locks her friends in an underground bunker.
I watched a bad one last week. Case 39. My friend made me do it. : D
At least you have an excuse. Nobody made me watch this movie.Actually,I had movie on as background noise
The crockpot pork chops came out tasting yummy Molly
Oh good Min. I'm glad they turned out well.
I'm off to play Pyramid on FaceBook. I'll check in later on
Heyas kids .. and ttfn Min ..
hi torgone
Lovely night for a Babble ..
not too smoky for you? who is lying about having a fatal disease? (molly's profile)
No smoke or fatal diseases here ..
oh good. i heard there were fires in the vicinity of your city.
There was a fire east of he4. I think it's under control now.
Looks like th5 may be one going on way east of he4, but that's pretty desolate country ..
hi all
hi jmc
Heya jmc
life is a fatal disease. a sexually transmitted one, in fact
*groan*
well this grid is a bear
also, I hate re words
i heard about a one-legged elderly man who did not evacuate a fiery region somewhere, and died. so sad.
i hate re words too
i am rapidly deciding i hate this grid
It is a bit of a sticky wicket ..
to get nbt i would have to ask for too man stats to be worth it
okay i give up
