WTG ANIKE!!! did you watch the race yesterday.
wtg anike
and hello flosey
hi there rose
No rose - we were racing ourselves. Not a good day.
oh? is adam ok?
He's fine, apart from his expectations. Went into the day hoping to win state championship but a fall in the second race means he finished the year second. he was the "peoples" choice but they were disappointed - maybe too much pressure.. Still 2nd in State Superbike for the year and 7th nationally in Supersport isn't too bad. Still have Historic nationals in a few weeks and he hopes to take out at least one title there.
oh, how disappointing, anike. please tell adam how sorry i was to hear the news. i'm glad he is ok after the fall.
Thanks rose - we don't really care where he finishes so long as he is ok at the end of the day but he puts pressure on himself and is a very popular rider in wa and likes to please everyone.
Anyway... I must go and scrub kitchen floor. have family coming next Sunday for mum's 95th birthday.
understood, anike. it's a hard lesson to learn...we cannot please everyone all the time. we just have to do our best.
lucky lady, Anik, is she in good health?
okay, anike. hope all is well with mum.
this grid is na-asty.
okay, just got the we4/6/7/8 run...that helps
She is doing quite well flosey but, of course, there are issues to deal with constantly. She is still in her own villa with a carer each morning so is quite happy.
Must run - back tomorrow. Happy babbling
sounds ike a good arrangement, anike
goodnight, sweet sleep
night, anike. enjoy what's left of the day, kitchen floors not withstanding.
oh, for goodness sake. would you believe my last word was the dam, we4?
oh, of course, it isn't exactly bedtime there
but I must get to bed, 67 to do tomorrow
night rose
nigh, flosey. hope you sleep well, hun.
good morning
is anybody here at this odd time?
Goodmorning, Rubyfoo. How are you and your husband?
hello christine. We are OK, sort of. Husband's short-term memory is all kerflooey and I am left with sorting out all paperwork questions. The good news is that MY new (tiny) car is arriving this afternoon after waiting since June
all the isms seem to be related....lol

I love hallowe'en. Wish we had it here.
you don't celebrate the night of the gourd?
not at all. Not an inkling.
samhain?
nope.
Samhaim scares me :)
well, you can celebrate it virtually.
I think it is beautiful. A good time to realise how thin boundaries can be, even between the living and the dead... and to flirt a bit with the dark in all of us.
omg did you see? I think the babble player Mpittore is actually in the grid!
i like the celebration of the end of harvest and the beginning of the long dark. i'm opposed to the commercialism.
oh you're right! there she is!
Yes, sprite, she is. The other day Mittromney was in the grid.
that is scary, grin
very scary!
the grid that had mitt romney also had ryan (paul ryan) and newt (gingrich) :)
eeeek!!
right with you on that, dawg. It is so silly. Here we don't celebrate samhain or hallowe'en, but the shops are full of the merchandise from the US anyway.
YIKES.
isn't that incredible, cos?
lol yes. a republican grid :P
mr. romney is in today's grid and a plural of him too! now that's scary!
ty for mi4 mi5 :P
come on, cos, you like him :)

then it would be like a ghost, right?
but then again the people who make captions on TV are lazy so they prob missspelled it

good morning dear babblers.
Hi hurshy :)
howdy hursh
hi ya hursh
sigh. i ordered 5 cases of cat food which i now have to return since my cats don't like it.
Is Marty getting used to wet food?
i can't tell, annie. he hasn't lost any more weight, so i guess used-enough-to-it
but this morning even though he was clearly hungry and had been bothering me in the night, he refused to eat this new kind. luckily i had started trying them on it before i used up the old kind so i just gave him that and then he was happier.
hurshy: any way you can trade it on craig'slist? swapif not outright sell it?
they are letting me return for a refund, TO, i just have to pay shipping.
but even my GIRLS didn't like this new kind. i didn't expect that to happen.
Not losing weight is a very good sign.
that is good. i just finshed reading dewey the library cat and he put them through feeding hell as cats are prone to do
yes but i sort of want him to gain BACK the pound he LOST
TO...LOVE the icon : D
Hi Molly and Owl
hi molly, ty. phila folk festival,my pic
Good morning, all. Are you supplementing with any people food, Hurshy? A little chicken? A little tuna fish?
here's a funny thing - i don't think my grandmother is quite as confused as my mom might have been thinking. but she mumbles and my mom's hard of hearing so ... communication probs x2.
hi annie and all
chicken broth, judi.
back, hi all
hurshy, this is a hard task with multiple cats.
morning, judi
and then marty gets wrapped up in a blanket and pepsid forced down his throat, he LOOOVES that...
well TO, i think i will just stick with the food that i know they like, rather than try to experiment with some of the other health foods that are just SLIGHTLY cheaper than the one they know. so then it shouldn't be too hard. just expensive.
Chicken broth is good. My cats go wild for tuna juice from the can. My one cat also loves anything with cheese. Cheesy popcorn, macaroni & cheese, etc.
i have always given them the tuna juice whenever i have tuna myself. but even though mitty loves dairy i no longer give it to her cause a) she's fat and b) i heard dairy isn't actually good for cats.
time to go,mustfinish cleaningbefore window cleaners arrive. happy babbling all
bye TOwl
True. Dairy is not good for cats. I noticed they sell lactose free cat milk at the pet food store. Haven't tried that, but I'm not trying to get a cat to gain weight.
bye TO
hmm i should look that up! if marty were to like it that might be good. the trouble is that anything that makes him feel full without having more calories just reduces what else he consumes. i wish i had his utter sensitivity to how not to gain weight!
Amen to that.
as an aside, i recommemd the dewey book as a fun read for cat lovers.

Clue for ce7
Hi All. : )
hey hego :)
Spritey!
:) How are you, hego?
usually you hear the word ce4pool, but ce7 is sort of like that, except ending in the *** of despair (don't even think about trying to escape. the chains are far too thick.)
very good, and you/
am good, thanks :) Enjoying the colours of autumn, now that the leaves are starting to turn.

Hi Hursh

Hi again, had to grab a bite and more coffee
Hi smores
wb smores
hi hego, sprite
nice grid today
yup
yes, very :)
hello all.
hi ya cos :)
hiya Cos
waiting 30 more minutes then im going to go to the county office and vote!
wb cos
how are we all?
lol, mi8 is funny. i'm helping an identical twin with her homework, but they tricked me and i helped the other one instead?
something like that, hursh, lol!
Hmmm.......
what do you think, cos? Who will win?
romney will win the popular vote but obama grabs electoral college win -- 2nd term for Obama.
good. I'd hate to see romney as president
and linda mcmahon will learn that she can't buy a senate seat in CT (i hope)
from your lips to Gods ears.
national polls mean NOTHING. i wish more people understood that. state polls are the only ones that matter in Pres Race.
teehee - thanks for the mi8 hurshy :)
Murphy is widening his lead in CT. Murphy should win by 5-7... now to find that mi8 :)
When will we get rid of the electoral college?
lol well we should all be glad we had electoral college in 2000 :) a national wide recount would have been a logisitic nightmare
I don't even understand dutch politics, let alone US. But the US president is important to the whole world.
hego, there is a movement where if enough states agree, it will trigger a thing. you can look online and see if your state has passed a law to agree yet and if not you can email your reps.
Mitt keeps showing up in the grid
yes and no cos
he sure does, smores
dont get me wrong. i like popular vote better than ECV
http://www.nationalpopularvote.com/
I don't think my state has yet, Hursh.
I believe 11 states have. Maybe more.
I know you do Cos.
yeah i had to email my reps.
ok i was close.. 9 states have passed, 2 states passed legislature awaiting Governors signature. 11 states :)
very nice, cos!
my governor hasnt signed it even tho both houses passed it here. ill have to call the governors office
but one of them is CA, so we're about halfway to the number of ECVs needed!
just got the mi8. cheez
true!
wtg hugo. Weird one, isn't it!
yes
hmmmm
laundry. brb
finally got the mi8 ty!
hi again all! back with breakfast!
back, hi Sue.
hi hego!
when are you coming east?
no plans at the moment, hego, probably not before next summer
let me know when you do.
my dad says he wants to come here next spring (!)
welcome back uu
oh, I will, hego, don't worry!
wow! will he be able to?
hi smores!
he's planning on driving. I am assuming that he is sensible enough to know his limits.
Let's hope.
by that time he will be 92...
but the chances of him listening to me are pretty much zero. I do intend to discourage him driving in the winter.
how far is it for him uu?
about 800 miles, smores, he lives in New Jersey and I am in Illinois
lets hope he does it in stages.
that is quite a drive
he would probably take 2-3 days, hego. He really is pretty sensible.
that's good
will he be traveling alone?
good for him
yes, smores
I think you two are probably a lot alike. Do you?
I do indeed :-)
: D
Hi sue..does anyone have a clue for di7
It was funny a year ago August, when I took my son to see him - he didn't feel quite so weird himself any more :-)

yes, ty
cool
have not looked at w's yet
Hi Onyx
onyx!!!! *hug* How have you been?
Good, you? Ditching work on a rainy Monday
Hi hego
good to hear! Yeah am good too. Sunny Monday here, quite unexpected. Very nice.
Glad for the rain, we need it here.
must go. hagd All.
Have a good day hego
Clue for er7
bye hego :)
think sexy Boo :)
Thanks smores
ex7 as well
what about if you always think sexy?
darn darn compounds
then you probably already have those two words...lol
what's with the if?
and the se6 Ru
have that.. different meaning
I ismed myself to death last night
and don't forget; never,ever se4 and drive...lol
to the death? That is too kinky for me
sex and driving would be impossible
not if you are used to cars with clutches
Back. Patriotic duty done.
not impossible, but not a good idea
wtg cos! You just made the difference
you joined the marines cos?
And yes I voted for the President sprite :P
yeah cos!!!
ru: im not allowed to join the army!
lol cos, I knew you would!
really?
we had no doubt
not that i'd want you to
I wouldnt hear enemy fire :(
oh
that would be a hindrance
not a huge Obama fan, but Mitt cr6 me out
what if you asked the enemy to show signs "i'm here!"
I wish Jill Stein of the Greens had a snowball's chance.
brb, time to drain the linguini
I hear ya, smores. He is really a very wrong guy.
The cr9!
LOL ru :)
mmmm, linguini
seain: i took one of these quizzes.. and i agree with jill stein 97% and 82% for Obama. If I lived in a solid blue state I'd vote for Jill.
even I could sign back at the enemy... would only need one finger ;)
that's the one i use when driving sprite
LOL {sprite}
lol ruru, I bet
lol sprite.. yeah thats a good way to get killed :)
except in Oakland and Richmond and East Palo Alto
so that was you Ru
definitely, cos! Too bad it is about the only sign I know ;)
and Texas
lol, just se4ing and driving
i'd love to learn how to do some sign language
www.lifeprint.com excellent website to learn, they have videos and quizzes.
I use that website to teach my class.
oh thanks.
me too, ruru. It is weird, but I just don't know any deaf persons personally. Really odd.
thanks cos
me too, used to know some years ago as a friend in high school was deaf
I don't either.. but it would be really cool to know how to converse that way
cool, cos, I'll have to check it out
would be very handy if we ever met IRL, cos!
sprite: that website isnt useful if yoy want to sign to deaf people in ur country
there are different sign languages for each country like there are languages
lost contact with Harley, he read lips very well so we didn't usually communicate that way, but he taught me some
nope, I already noticed. But I'd like to be bi-lingual in it anyway. Will check out a dutch site too, must be one at least.
UK signs differently than US. Here its called ASL, UK it's called BSL and everywhere else USL
lemme get that for u :)
:D Great!
past ure
bak. Yes, linguini in a red sauce with carrots, onion, garlic, parsley, and basil. Finished the sauce with butter.
good one, PMS. Just drop the space :D
yumm
http://www.gebarencentrum.nl/
pastor
oops
unfortuantely that website isnt in english so idk if its good :P
sorry :( are there snacks in the PB ?
there's linguini, as well as graham crackers and marmalade. and plenty of wine
thanks cos! Have bookmarked it. Will check it out. Are the differences between ASL and BSL minor, like with the spoken languages? Or won't UK signers not understand US signers?
smores: all you can wish for!
what do you teach cos?
no. ASL is based on French Sign Language, BSL is completely different.
won't not? Well, that was certainly no english. From any country.
and how about the USL, cos? Is that for Universal? And is that really universal and maybe the best to learn?
omg... cos... am just reading on that site that there are specific signs even for the various regions in the Netherlands. For such a small country! It is an incredibly rich language/system!
lemme get the USL link. and yes thats universal. best to learn that. i need to start learning that!
Oh I forgot. There isn't one!
looks like we don't have a free online course for dutch SL.
lol! That is strange? Or isn't it?
to correct -- ASL is loosely based on LSF. A man named Laurent Clerc came to America from France to teach deaf kids and he created ASL based on LSF but ASL has evolved from mid 1800s.
smores: I teach ASL in a community center
quite so, cos :)
ugh i meant to say "correct" not "to correct"
the organic origins of Nicaraguan sign language is fascinating.
not sure why sprite -- wlll look into that.
to deaf people or to all people who want to learn, cos? (debates buying ticket, lol)
quick BSL lesson: the vowels. For A, use index finger and touch thumb with other hand. For E, do same but use finger next to thumb, and so on.
very cool cos
oh nice!
lol no i only teach to "hearing" people. you're not allowed to be verbal in class from day 1. the only way to learn. thats how they do it in college classes for ASL
OOh, i jst got one of the 9's
sounds like the only way indeed. Shut up and sign!
wtg onyx :)
right. no interpreters. nothing. its challenging the first class but by 2nd class its easier
Sounds hard cos
not really. first class you learn basics... 2nd class is review.. 3rd class ur ready :)
someone who hears will have to learn to focus on totally different aspects... I think not being allowed to be verbal is the only way to manage that. In time.
if ur caught using voice in class 3 times. i give them an essay assignment :)
so you said you don't know other deaf people sprite?
not personally, smores, only through the internet.
Do they have to sign the assignment in front of the class
lololllll @ essay assignment! That is more than a challenge. I'd be so out of my depth on that.
:)
oh no lol thats too much smores :) usually i make them list 50 non verbal methods of communications. no one has ever come up with 50.
If you don't mind me asking Sprite, how long ago did you lose your hearing?
oh my. 50.
yeah, I was just kidding cos..lol
wow, cos that is alot
smores, hun, I am hearing. I'd just like to be able to sign, so I could chat with cos if we ever meet. Or other deaf people. It seems so silly to not be able to talk with someone in my own country, for instance, just because they cannot hear.
brb
not even sure I could list 20. Eyes, facial muscles, body posture, hand signs... errr....
writing, drawing, semaphore, morse code, smoke signals...
oh ok, was thinking of face to face. Ok, art? drums?
touch too
oh, I thought when cos said the class was only for "hearing" people that you were deaf
yeah, I understand. I should have been clearer, smores.
music? Yes, I think so.
DIdn't stop Beethoven
no problem, I was just a little confused
i remember hearing music from the 5th floor of dorms at Gallaudet as i was walking by at ground level. :)
indeed, ruru
music, definatly
telling stories with shadow puppets
I went to a deaf dance back in High School, very cool
It was probably Benson Hall Seain :)
dance! Of course, dance as well.
i think it was indeed, cos
that dorm is a party dorm.. music plays a lot there
dance is so lovely. :)
dance like no one's looking!!
i didnt stay there. I was at Ballard North then I moved to Clerc Hall, then Peet Hall. I did not want Benson as it was a frat/soritory dorm
:)
i want to go back and finish but....
fire signals to warn for enemies approaching
that is 15, and I am already stumped, cos
lol.. the most ive gotten was like 32?
wowwwww. Am thinking: playing games? That is communication as well.
id ask which games :)
what kind of games sprite?
:D
snap
two popular answers are pictionary and charades
like kids play in the streets. Kick the can. Hide and seek. No words needed. Tag.
lol u owe me a coke ru
thats not communicating though. thats playing.
hm ok. Was thinking about how they automatically develop a picking order and such. But I guess that is because of the nonverbal forms of communication we listed earlier.
seain u still around i wanna ask u something
writing, drawing, gesturing, pointing, IM, facebook will all work.
aw can't believe I didn't call it yet: making love!
wow no one has ever said that... thats a good one
:D
have to go for a bit, have a wonderful day, be back soon :)
bye smores, you too
yeah and me only need one thing to sign
bye smores
men
that is
wrecked my own joke
bad bad ruru, LOL!
if u wanna sign.... "F - U and the horse you rode in on" --- all u need to do is flip the finger, then lay it down so the finger is pointing out... thats all!
my dirty sign class is very popular. i offer it once every 6 months.
only a 1 day 2 hour class.
nice and easy :D
I was going to say blew my joke.. but that was a little too much
lol i was wondering what "men" was for -- til I re-read ru's comment
I remember a beautiful movie I once saw about a deaf woman and a hearing guy... where she signs very beautifully and very very fast and he cannot understand at all... until she flips him the finger and he goes all happy: I know THAT one!
lol ruru
children of a lesser god
marlee matlin won an academy award for that.
exactly, that is the one! Couldn't grab the title, thanks.
she was fabulous in that movie
I love that movie.
John Hurt was great too
I know Marlee btw. She grew up in Chicago burbs near me and we went to same HS (different times) and had same teachers. She visited the school a lot so we got to know each other. shes a great lady.
I really like her.. not only as an actress.. but she's really involved in some great causes
always love to hear how many people you know, cos. She must be fun to know.
Lunch break! Woo hoo. Hello Babblers.
i have to head out to work.. bye for now.
bye ru! and hello scrab!
first time i met her i hated her lol she was so... rude.... but thats probably because she was at a deaf picnic in chicago and no one would leave her alone.. i was only 8 and didnt understand. :)
hi Scrabs :)
bye ruru, have a good one at work
How is life across the pond, Sprite?
as an 8 yo you wouldn't have to understand. Glad things got better later :)
and the weird part? she said I, at age 8, was too old for an autograph. Only for kids under 6.
sunny and warm today, Scrabs, and indoors mostly well, except for the Teenagery puber that has temporarily replaced my lovely son.
she must have had a bad day that day because she was not like that at all any other time
huh? That is really weird. Maybe she was really overstressed that day.
Sprite, temporary = til age 25, and perhaps longer
whaaaaaaa!!!! Arrgghhhhh! Scrabs, what are you saying!
70 today. 30 tonight.
how are things at your side?
ap6 please?
Boys go brain-dead at about 13 and need much training and guidance to become respectful, responsible adults.
i agree with scrabbs on that.
if I cut up the cake and sell you one part, they are 1 penny ap6
thanks!
i have tons of pennies. when can i collect?
ok... sigh... we work on that, Scrabs. At least we put in the energy and effort. Whether it will work....
I have a younger bro and my sister has 3 boys (19, 22 and 24) that I helped to raise.
right here at my home, cos! I'll happily bake for you
so they are still a work in progress too, Scrabs? I thought... naive, I guess... around 18/19 things would be better?
Sprite, adolescent girls are even more of a nightmare--emotional and dramatic tornados that try repeatedly to suck in their parents.
yay! lol. that reminds me i need to borrow a pie tin from the neighbors. dumb ass DH threw out all of our 3 pie tins cause he didnt feel like scrapping food off it
i have stuff to make apple pie.
hahahahaha! The smartie. Lazy bum. Does he throw away the dishes after use too?
But they do stupid stuff--when driving, when with friends...add alcohol and marijuana...
he did some! I was PO!
Full legalization of marijuana in Colorado looks like will pass in 2 weeks. 50-39 in favor last poll. would regulate and tax marijuana like alcohol.
oh Scrabs, soooo true what you say about girls. My girl is starting now, and mannnn can she be a drama queen. I have to fight to keep a little bit of space for my own.
will prob pass WA and OR too.
Good plans, cos.
Sprite, you must remain calm, detached and in control.
still laughing at throwing away used cooking and tableware because not wanting to clean! How about clothes? :D
calm. Detached. In control. Darn I am gonna need so much english tea.
oh if he throws out any of my clothes he will die.
thanks, btw, Scrabs... am happy with the advice.
lol cos!
he almost threw out my snuggie yesterday! ohhhh ....... yeah. lol
well, you come over for the cakes, bring him and I'll treat you both... and we will let him wash the dishes.
lol sounds good
your snuggie??? That is close to cruel.
You have to fake it a lot, Sprite. Your mantra should be "I am the parent and I am in control."
that sounds very good to me, Scrabs. Am printing that one on the inside of my eyelids right now.
made him wash it last night. *satisfied smirk*
dinner call here! Back for the last 9 later. *hugs* and thanks for the lovely chat.
+
And tell yourself, "This too shall pass. I must prepare them for adulthood."
county party is calling. they need me to do more canvassing. ugh. bbl!
Still here, Seain?
Bye Cos
good morning/afternoon, everyone :)
Hi nan. I was reading the newspaper.
anything exciting in the news?
Way too much media-driven craziness about our upcoming election.
yes - we're getting it up here too
get's to the point that you don't know what is wheat and what is chaff
yay convinced them to let me canvass tomorrow instead.
I received a phone call on Saturday, a survey about a lot of political issues.
<-- throws away pans if things are too hard to scrape off
Good idea, Ruby.
<-- buys cheap pans
Tefal is junk but very inexpensive and is made locally
we do have 3 iron cast skillets so he knows not to throw them out
I tried buying relally expensive German frying pans, guaranteed for two years. And when I took one back to the store (in Switz) because it was no longer non-stick after a couple of months, they said, "Oh, you must have used it improperly"
It figures, Ruby.
I got my new car. However, we special-ordered blue, and it's white!
Oh, no!
Hi Scrabs, ruby, cos
joining the crowd too.. hi everyone
Hi Bichon, Marco and Polo.
Hi aloy
the salesman who delivered it said that in certain light, it looks blue. At this point, I don't care
{{aloy and bichon}} and M and P
Arf, woof Scrabs
That is total BS, Ruby.
BRB, I need to get some ice and water
we ordered it in June and I'm not about toe reject it now
in blue light? groan.. as long as you like the car, ruby
and the salesman delivered it, drove away (after jump-starting it) the old one and brought me an orchid. How bad is that?
hi bich, aloy
and he didn't deduct anything for the broken rear window
can i have a clue for as6 please?
hello cos
That's too bad ruby. Can you get them to take it back?
too much trouble. If I can't have red, I really don't care
Husband wanted blue
I don't have it yet, Cos
and, for the first time, husband let me get automatic transmission. I think I'm too old for manual
I do now. as6 = a particular feature or view of something
as6/24 - a view or an element of an argument
ty Scrabs, I see it now
evening all
Jinx, Glantarell1
hello hello glanta
hi Glant
hi ruby
Hi Aloy
Ruby, you should contact the seller and complain. They owe you a rebate for not delivering what you ordered.
unfortunately, we never saw a sample of the blue that we thought we were ordering.
I think I'll write to VW in Germany and see if I can get some $$ there.
The salesman did his best
ugh how did i miss that ty
He could only deliver what he was sent. The fault lies in the point of sale.
I just had the world's worst customer service buying a dishwasher at Loews. They are going to get an earful from me.
my mother was "famous" for writing complaint letters. One time, she wrote to a canned ham company and told them she had cut her hand opening one of their hams (all true) and a chauffeur came and hand-delivered a new ham with a hand-written apology
Bad ecomony = employee reduction = poorly trained, over worked employees = terrible customer service.
I'm just so happy to have the new car!
I write letters when I receive great customer service. I think that merchants mostly receive complaints. I want to recognize respectful, responsible workers.
hi all, was just at Best Buy horrible customer service.
*Pictures Ruby in shades and a racing scarf, tooling around France*
the old one, even with its very few miles, was becoming unreliable. I guess 15 years is a long time
hello peri.
that's me, all right, molly
Does anyone here read the "Haggler" column in the NY Times Sunday Business section. That is full of outrageous bad customer service
Best Buy has TERRIBLE customer service.
when DH is gone, I'm getting a red converitble!
I have noticed that younger employees, i.e. teens/twenty-somethings, often have poor work ethic and poor interpersonal skills.
customer service is brilliant here; it's just the products that are junk
doctors make less money than plumbers
any clues for the ec 6 or the last 4 ex's?
perhaps those uyoung people have been poorly trained by older people, Scrabs?
"The Haggler" really gave it to Staples bait and switch
I just ordered a wireless printer from Amazon which was less money than at Best Buy. I did have to pay for shipping and tax but I get what I want and it is delivered to my door.
only in france, ruby
true, nan
MicroCenter was the other place I went to this am. no sales people around anywhere!!
peri, do you have Amazon Prime? You can have 2 day shipping for free
two of the last 4 ex are : what to ex6 when ur ******ing... then pl
I don't order that much from Amazon. it is ok
ex6/36: ex + religious group
uhhh, where on earth did you get that plumbers earn more than doctors? I don't know of any plumbers earning at least 6k€/month
Gotta start seeing patients.
I ordered a bunch of American foods from Amazon UK and paid more for postage than for the stuff
Amazon Prime is great. I have it through my son and d.i.l.
doctors here make very little. It costs 30 euro for an office visit. 50 euro for a housecall
plumbers charge 50 euros for stepping in the door
the average GP earns at least 6k€ here ruby...
ty cos - looking for the religious group
ty cos, needed that one
I think UK doctors start out on £45,000 and many of them earn more than the Prime Minister
maybe it's just this part of France, buggie. Our housepainter has another house in the south of France plus a pool here!
Amazon prime is my go to for on line shopping.
his house is bigger than ours
and our old housekeeper's house is also bigger than ours, and ours is pretty big!
Right Molly. But you have to watch the Amazon prices.
I think the same is true of Canada and the US Glan
Ec6 is ec plus 2nd vowel plus not brother but ...ter, it's just taken me all day to get that 1
hahah oggy
got it cos -- just need the ex 7 52 now
tyvm oggy
ty, oggy!
And you get tons of free movies and TV shows with the Amazon prime membership.
he might not have paid much for his house... house prices have gone up recently, but there are still plenty of houses around falling apart that can be easily done up, especially if you work in renovation
That clue has done my head in all day
ty oggy
Do you Molly? I don't get that because my membership is through the kid's
is the ex 7/52 an extention of another ex word? sorry just started the grid?
ex7/52: ex + when football games go past alloted time, it goes in ** + my name ** cosdem + letter
... not really
That is right Bich. If you add people to your Prime membership, they only get the free shipping.
my dad's a builder, they live in a massive house that they paid peanuts for, and I can garantee that your average builder, electrician or plumber doesn't get much more than the minimum wage, hence the shortage of workers in those fields
that's really interesting, buggie. maybe it varies with regions. Somehow, this area has become very chic
<-- not chic
I went back to Amazon and added free Amazon Prime for a month. will cancel it before the month is over. it is $79 for a year.
got the first part of your clue, ty cos, but not the my name cos part
(used to be chic)
so I saved $20 and get free shipping
hello again all
oh - see it now -- ty
{{smores}}
still havent gotten it exactly cos lol
hi MLF
got the laundy started, answered some emails, and made some delicous loaded baked potato soup...mmmm
Molls how much are you paying for Amazon Prime?
peri, one of the advantages to Prime is that it is 2 day shipping. For some people that is worth $79 for a year. My son got his big screen HD TV with no shipping or tax
hi ruby - did you get your car?
it ends with the "belief" ending, MLF
I don
loaded baked potato soup spunds very interesting
hi ruby
I don't order much from Amazon. have ordered books in the past
er7 and ex7 end the same and have similar meanings
got the car and it's white-ish
ty aloy
ish...lol
well, I would guess that the painters/plumbers/etc that have money where you are either cater to the rich who are filling up your corner of France, or got lucky by owning property before that area became so fashionable (and house prices most likely exploded)
jut need the er7 then :-)
yw.. brb, brunch time
I think you're right, buggie
same as ex7
... believing in sexy things
enjoy your brunch Aloy
the trades love expats!
Clue for ex6 please
so do you like the color ruby?
ty dose
aspects
whoops, sorry
completely missed that tu 4 suffix before I listed
no, the color is icky, but the interior is lovely and I don't really care that much
hah, reminds of the Polish plumber, ruby
exactly, buggie
it's much nicer than the Lupo
3rd column i stats please?
this is an OP
ty ruby
I think they have different models in Europe
... frozen waters
hello all, back for the last 9.
{{sprite}}
hi again sprite

ok, so my newbie = a paper size
not a careless religious helper?
I'll bet there''s a six involved
nope.. could have fun speculating on a meaning for it tho
For the new vets: http://tinyurl.com/8ob5za9
I got from a word meaning sixth
hi hego
Hi Aloy : )
Having an x in the middle sure makes it interesting.
yes, and sp6.39 ends in it.. start with a visit to the sp* for a facial and wind up south in the land of ***ie
The world is a bad place, a bad place A terrible place to live, oh but I don't wanna die
the real meaning is flower cluster.. (looked that one up too)

Giant, think sexy
er 7 --- sexual quality ... no es 7
I never think sexy any more smores :;-D
sorry, meant er7 BR
LOL
ty BR got it
thought that needed an ic isn the middle :_)
found a di7 but not an 8 or 9
not seeing the mi8 either, not doing well with this grid
ex 7/52 -- quality of being unusual and interesting
the person who does the dis***ing
is a di9
there is no di8
TY BR, thought that needed an ic in the middle too!
ty, Glant got the di7 di9 but your post did say di8 @1`:16 are you trying to confuse me?
of course, Peri - it;s what i do best
ok then
have you got hte we8/65?

Another example of no good deed goes unpunished
finally got the last mi4 - really???
standard past tense as i was taught back when. :)
Nancy, I understood your clue.
thank u molly, perhaps i will try again in spite of some critical comments, i think it is always good to get a word that is puzzling. I always appreciate clues from others....
I liked it Nancy, I did think body part at 1st and laughed ( at myself ) when I finally got it. Clues that make think are the best anyway.
ah, finally found it; medical term. that type of parallelism is hard for me.
Nancy, your clue worked perfectly for me...
down to my last one and can't find it :(
pa6,21 - the 1st one - Pleeeease

Ty, ty, ty Molly - you just gave my FW!!!!

another new word
River how are you? Did you see a doctor?
I did and had xrays - lucky no breaks - badly sprained shoulder rotator cuff and severe bruising to upper arm...gave good meds - muscle relaxer and vicodin for pain and out of work for a few days
oh, glad it's bad but not broken, river -- that's painful, if good news. Is there PT in your future?
could be if it gives me trouble after healing....will play that by ear....said to call in a week if not better and they will see if I need a referral
Glad to hear nothing is broken River. And that you got some good meds.
they were great to get me in first thing this morning....I love my Docs
wow, River, that sounds painful :(
Good news then. Just a little healing time needed.
my arm is now starting to turn some nice colors and I also noticed a huge bruise and scrape on my back...didnt even feel that with all the pain in my arm. I still cant lift it.
uh-oh, just got the dreaded warning, my battery is almost dead - sorry to hear about your arm River, take care
Molly, thank you again for the clue
thanks smores and congrats on fw
everyone have a wonderful evening {group hug} bye
driving there killed me today - I drive a stick shift - had to lean forward to shift...by the time I got back home I sure did need those pain meds and then slept for the next 4 hours
g'night smores.
oh, that was no fun indeed! A nap helped i hope.
can I get a clue for the U please

ah, thanks
thanks molly
67 to go but time to leave you all...have a great night everyone
be well, river
Good morning from downunder!
hey Lizlin! love your icon
ty - me too!
prefer original tigger to disney version
where are you in oz? I was in Gold Coast & Sydney a couple months ago
Gold coast - have lived here for 4 years - moved from London
ah - I was at a conference at Bond. Visited Surfer's Paradise & drove down to Byron
definitely prefer Shepard to Disney
Love Byron - but best thing is whale watching for 6 months during the winter. Def prefer EH
Unless you like lots of buildings, Surfers does not represent the best of the GC
we saw a school of something at Byron - dolphins we thought, but they were teeny/far away. Yes Surfers reminded me a lot of some overdeveloped parts of Florida
hi, liziln and dan
We live about 12 km from the coast but love walking on the beaches and often drive into the hinterland
Hi dcseain
definitely enjoyed the visit, even though it was a working trip
sometimes at Byron the dolphins and whales come in right under the cliffs near the lighthouse
You'll have to make the next trip into a holiday
yes would love that
You'll have to persuade work people to organise another trip (get your flights paid!) then extend!!!!
I did extend this time, but only for a few extra days in Sydney - visited some expat friends and took the ferry out to Manly
Sydney harbour is amazing - we did a 3 hour boat trip around the harbour, when friends came to visit
well we still have clients in .au and .nz, so maybe I'll get to go again next year
Wish you luck in that!
Time to get going - enjoy your evening in the US or day if you're in Oz
Evening all.
hi gap, ciao Lizlin
Hey there, dan.
May I please have a clue for sp6-39? Thanks
sp + vowel + the South is referred to as ***ie (I wish I were in ***ie)
Thanks much, Molly.
Hi everyone!
Hey there, Brookie.
Just as a reminder to everyone, there's a Babble meetup on Saturday, November 10th at noon. Details are on my profile. :-)
And hi gapeach!
How come Barack is never in the grid?
<---Keeps witty, sarcastic answer to herself.
(hopes the chatter tonight will not be political. Hoped to get away from it for a while)
Name that Proper Noun: Who did Croesus get his wealth from?
Oh drat. I knew I should brush up on my Persian history. : O
You know this!
Midas?
Bank of America?
MOLLYL wins a bag of Gold!!!!
Same thing! hahaha
Actually, I think Croesus was Greek, who was defeated by the Persians.
Which is why I should have done the brushing up.
<---Not a pseudo intellectual
Maybe you are a Real intellectual....
hi babblers
<=== Pseudo moron ..
<-- Real moron
hi welki :-) .... snowed in yet ?
Yes, but we see through your disguise Tor.
if dan2bit's still here - i had a friend in manly beach many years ago - would be one of those coincidences if you ran into him - will say his first name is colin (a diver, a fireman)
not yet, diane, but getting ready for it. i really should have stayed downtown tonight, it took me two hours to get there this morning!
was just talking to grandson on the phone ( Douglasdale ) but forgot to ask him if it was snowing yet.
no, not snowing yet
i see you're only expecting flurries
Yes, I think it will miss us this time. Son is heading to Arizona on Friday ( taking a car down ) , so they are really watching the weather.... the the Monida Pass conditions.
when will you follow?
We aren't going down until right after Christmas... probably about the 29th of Dec.
so he's just bringing a car down? not staying for holidays?
I simply could NOT spend Christmas away from our kids, grandkids and now the little great granddaughter..... never !
she's a doll :)
my eldest daughter, who is pregnant, and my youngest grand-daughter are flying in friday morning - will be a great week!
no, son still works, but they get down there whenever they get the chance. They'll be joining us several times while we are there.... after all, it IS his house :-)
nice set up, diane - jealous :)
awwww.... you will enjoy them !
It certainly is.... the rent is free, ;-) and we just pay for the utilities etc. while we are there.
any help for the di7 or 9, please?
hi everyone! it's snowing!
oh i sure will - my grand-daughter is JUST like my daughter - clever, funny, smart as a whip. i asked my daughter to make up a list of things i should have in the house for avery. well, avery made me her own list - and had to skype me to read it to me! (3 1/2!)
what you do to frogs, in biology 10
candy, marshmallows and hot chocolate *lol*
di7 what we did in biology class to those poor little frogs.
dawg! snowed here last night and expecting LOTS tonight - you'll probably get hammered
Thanks.
Skype is fun isn't it.... I enjoy having it when we are away.
oh thanks, welki. it was a bit nip and tuck coming home from class tonight. first snow and it's wet! big fat flakes
di9 is the one who does the di7
once you get past the, "hi, how are you?" and "fine" moments, it's great
I have problems with Skype. (Maybe it's my internet connection?) The sound goes in and out.
di9 is the one who does the di7
heavy snowfall warning in effect for southern alberta - waterton park included
skype, even with a fast connection, will never be as good as it would be if you paid for it - and i'm too cheap
a fast computer and good connection do help, though
Montana often gets the same weather as S. Alberta.... Hubby's hometown is Pincher Creek, very near to Waterton ...
We end up turning the computer sound off and chat on cell phones, while looking at the Skype video
oh diane, one of our favorite places is beauvais lake! it's where i learned to fly fish
where in Montana are you, dawger ?
sounds like a good solution, gwen
I've been to Beauvais Lake many times.... husband's brother in law's land bordered on it.
it was a fine introduction - may long weekend, backpacking tent, wind 80 km, snow, rain, sleet - a lovely weekend *lol*
I have some nice pictures of Beauvais lake on my computer.
but we went back many times and loved it
to use an overused cliche'...... the whole ball of wax !!
time for me to jump out of the grid. Good nite, all
I've never known any place that can have 3 feet of snow in the morning and have it all gone by afternoon, when that wonderful chinook blows in through the pass.
best memories of beauvais: belly-boating and watching a moose and calf swim by. hooking what i thought was a log and it turned out to be a huge brown trout. bobbing along in the lake and some guy asks, 'how're you doing?" i say, "fine" and he says, "YOU'RE A CHICK! You fish like a man!" (whatever that means)
night night, gwenski
'night gwen
and HAHAHA - i haven't been a "chick" for decades :)
I think it was a compliment.... at least from one fisherman to another ;-)
mind you, there were "other"memories - when we meet, ask me :)
I will.... and I hope one day we do. You are only 10 minutes away from our son's home.
i've probably bumped into them - i know how hard it is to separate from the family when visiting. when i'm in jersey, i'm so torn
Our handsome grandson works at that big sports store in the shopping center, just across the Deerfoot from where they live..... so handy
what i wish i'd done, though, is meet wv teach when i was less than an hour from her - now, i have no reason to go there anymore
Sport Check?
He works in the hockey stick department... right down his alley, as he is our hockey player and knows all about sticks. He enjoys it!
No.... another one. I'll ask next time I talk to him.
how old is he, diane? i'd bet he knows my co-worker's son - he's at port alberni now
hi all, need desperate help on the pi6/33 pls
where were you near here? maybe then i'll just have to come there. Was in Montana and British Columbias sdummer before last
ohhhhh, i think i know which one, it's a hockey specialty store near superstore and chapters
wv, it was a couple of years ago
sorry, got distracted. Diane I'm in Kalispell. 60 miles south of the border.
there are 2 pi 6/33 - it think you mean the hole-cutter
(and my mistake - only 1 pi 6/33)
It's Pro Hockey Life.... the name of the store.
pi 6/33 - compound word - hole + tool that cuts
ty welki & wv
I know Kalispell dawger :-) A couple of my girls were just down there in the summer and did a little shopping
and now I'm going to go check on the ball game... still have 33 words left but will be back to finish.
heading out, too - g'night folks
night welki
