THANK YOU, Lickety!!!
YAY lickety!
Stid, I just read your profile and am sorry to see it. And let's raise a toast to Hetty -- she's the one who lured me into this community -- and then she had to leave, so sadly.

Morning! Just got a pi 8 and 9 combo. One more to find.
morning hydra
Morning Glan. Hope you weren't flooded overnight, Our roof leaked.
Ah! Found the other pi 9, connected to the other two words.
the drive home was unexectedly hairy - low slung car and invisible flooding is not a good combination :- and the street outside my house was like a river, but I survived it all without incident. sorry to hear your roof leaked.
*looking for pi combinations*
You were very lucky, Glan. I had placed a bucket where it was likely to leak, but suddenly remembered all the computer cables and had to dash up at midnight and switch them all off.
For the pi's, think what women used to wear to do the dusting.
oh, ty ty
got em - thans
You're welcome
Must start work now. Still haven't finished book.
definitely must finish book
Trouble is, I thought I'd finished, then realised some loose ends hadn't been tied up so I started an extra chapter!
i think all creativelty involves those sorts of moments :-)
It's darned annoying!
I have bought myself a pen that lights up at night, so I no longer have to put on the light when I get those 3 am ideas.
that's a brilliant diea (scuse the pun)
LOl. I found it on Amazon. It works on an AAA battery.
It doubles as a very bright torch so it's most handy.
Bye for now *poof*
bye hydra - and good luck with the ending
good morning. Is anybody here?
bore da ruby - i am still plugging away

LOL Molly!
Hello Scrabs, Molly and Crossy!
Our first Thanksgiving Day without Dad. We missed him and always will.
{{Scrabs}}
Gentle hug scrabbler
and now a useful and timely tidbit for our american friends as the black friday hysteria commences....
To save money when you shop, don't touch anything. Touching an item makes you more likely to buy it, and willing to pay more.
My mother had the toughest time. She reallymisses him.
Sorry Scrabs. That first round of holidays is rough.
Yes, it is hysteria, Crossy--people are spending and overspending their money just so they can get a deal. People lose all judgment.
i am sorry scrabby it can be very hard with long marriages my m.i.l was devastated for the entire 2 years that she survived her husband
Crossy, sorry for the delayed response. I got mesmerized by the grid. I've taken a year-long break from competition speeches but will return in the spring. Already writing that speech. How are you?
Hi Brookie!
not bad at all.dealing with family issues as we all seem to be of late but the mrs is doing well
I would puke then faint if I had to give a speech.
Yes, family issues are normal. Hi car.eeyore!
Scrabs...you do it everyday with your patients. You would be fine.
Scrabbs, I still get jitters when I go up on stage, but once I see that no one is throwing tomatoes at me, the nerves go away.
Ditto to what car.eeyore said.
In front of a few people I manage, but a larger group would overwhelm me. I am a visual-spatial person so I need time to create and see my words before speaking them.
I'm the same way, Scrabbs. My competition speeches are ones I've written well in advance. The impromptu speech competitions are daunting (I still do them a little, but not as well.)
People who can drum up a beautifully crafted speech on the spot just amaze me.
I need stats for an M please?
Dont feel bad scrabs- LOTS if people dread making speeches
I did speak at a church group 5 wks ago, re adolescent development, behavior and morality. I did fine because I am passionate about the topic. I see the reality of adolescent life and it scares the hell out of me.
Start with my5,18
Frankincense, my5
a resin
When you're passionate about what you're communicating, you'll definitely capture people's interest.
And I forget the 3rd item that the Magi presented
gold,frankencence and my5
Ah, gold.
I am having a laugh looking at some of what is on sale for Black Friday. A back hair shaver? An Ebelskiver maker? : D
we just opened a brand new youth centre on the site of my old service station.now the kid can go hang out, play some pool,or cards,or read from its mini library.it has wi-fi and is just a good place to hang out if things need to cool down at home
You never know when you get a hankering for an Ebelskiver.
TY!
Ooooh, not sure on that one Brookie! I had a boyfriend in hs that was passionate about his stereo and could - and woukd- discuss it for HOURS. He was certainly captivated with his topic, but i wanted to plunge a firk in my ear
I always forget that Brookie. : D
That is awesome Crossy! How wonderful!
Ha, very true, Trifioso!
:)
We have Boys & Girls Clubs in our rural communities.
they are a great resource indeed scrabs
And stats please for the center E?
There is a new one being built in the Town of Holland near me.
er 5/10
Hello BR!
a pl with no singuler
Got it! TY my friend!
Hi BR--any snow up there? We might get 9 inches by tomorrow night courtesy of the Lake Erie snow-making machine.
it is good all around as many service station sites need massive earth clean up after 20 or 30 years in operation and if it is not to be a station again, the resale value is very low.so the town buys it as is on the cheap, makes it sparkly clean again and opened a youth centre on my site and a community care access centre on the other.it is a win-win scenario
Hello again, grabbed a bite to eat, took care of the pets, back for more.
Great outcomes, Crossy.
We have a bit of snow .... likely will be gone in the afternoon
OH! Jealous! I am ready for some snow!
Hi crossy, BR :)
i hope we get 2 feet of the stuff scwabby.crossy has his snow shoes at the ready!
Herin is in the grid today!
OK, smores, do you have the Z words. Am I blind for not seeing them?
...but wait! After I get the outside decorations up!
I should do that too, Car, before the snow starts.
And after i get the snow blower fixed!
zo9s rhymes with actress Ms. Spelling
But for now, I am off to the gym! I wish you all a wonderful day! Rest and relax! {{hugs}} all around!
((car))
Trif...we are having lunch with Katie at Cask & Flagon. are you joining us?
ty, smores
suppose to be zo 4/9
Take care my beloved sister
Get them bulging, Car
Hi Smores!
Bye Car. Burn those muscles and get the heart rate up.
zo4/10 ends in most of frozen water
{[Crossy}}
I walked 2 miles after my meal yesterday! And I only had 1 plate of food!
Still no child support (over a week late!) Soalas, i must pass
Bye car, enjoy your day
WHAT!?!?!?!
TY for Z words
Isn't that a direct deposit?!?!?!
Uh, oh, Trif.
Supposedly.
Oh god.
:( sorry Trif - I know that's rough when you're expecting it
And his excuse?
Whatever. NOTHING he does surprises me anymore.
I suppose you have very low expectations.
he disavows any knowledge of same
yeah, I haven't gotten child support in 7years
here the parent paying support pays the govt first and the parent getting the cheque gets a govt cheque.if the person paying defaults the govt goes after them.garnshees, liscence revoked and jail time if needed
Call your lawyer, Trif.
Hahaha, you are right scrabs! I expect nothing at all from him, so anything he does, no matter how tiny, is a plus
That is a direct violation of the agreement. Call the lawyer.
Better plan than here, Crossy. Too many kids do not get there deserved money.
Best approach, Trif--expect nothing then you cannot be disappointed.
nope, the govt makes sure.i have a friend who did 18 months for missing a year of support
Thats what i did, crossy- my payments come through the dept of revenue. Or DID anyway. Dont know where they went
And don't even worry about the fees, Trif. He will be responsible for them.
OK. I am off.
have a good workout car :)
But i do know i have NO HOPE of reaching a living soul at the DOR this week
Lack of personal responsibility and accountability chaos my bottom! Grrrrr. And it is epidemic!
your tushie is in chaos scrabbs?
*chaps my bottom---one of my father's sayings
lol..
ask him to be found in contempt of court for disobeying a court order and seek some quiet time for him behind bars cleaning toilets
Well, Crossy, I believe my tushie has expanded after eating too much yesterday
nice way of saying pain in the ass huh
What gets me is listening to him and my husband in law complaining about how their kitchen renovations ( their second remodel in 2 years) is driving them crazy.
indeed,6 months of cleaning those stainless steel toilets with comet will give a person a whole new outlook on life
BR, our official Babble attorney, speaks the truth!
But i look firward, not backward. Karma is real, and he should be TERRIFIED
lol, trif my wealthy in-laws when they were alive used to send us pictures of the cruise ships they were on during their 5 vacations a year
karma is very,very real
Karma does not pay the bills
hi, all. our turkey is in the oven, stuffing is prepared and ready to bake, fruit salad is chilling, ham is waiting to be sliced, cakes/pie are made, and snack tray is coming up. Our Thanksgiving is going to be just wonderfuli.
haven't heard from thier dad in over 3 years - last time they saw him it had been 2 year
Grrrrr
oh dear, crossy! Some people just really dont have the teeniest clue, do they?
Hi Angel. What delayed it a day?
mmm angel.you made crossy hungry
Can you garnish his wagws smores?
Too many people never become true adults--no respect for others, no responsibility...just perpetual toddlers.
sorry for the typos.....babbling on a nook is hard!
no - he conveniently works odd jobs
he still has to pay the ordered support smores, or its contempt!
Scrabbs, we always do our Thanksgiving a day later. I work on Thanksgiving Day so others can be off work. I can be Thankful any day, so Friday works better for us. Our office is open 24/7, 3
living someway in VA - no record of address, job
What do you do angel?
((Angel))
Im so sorry smores
365 days/year, so some people do work on holidays.
Call the states attorney for your county and/or your clerk to see what your rights are .... remember not doing anything may be considered your acquiescence in what he is doing.
I am an intake specialist for children and adult protective services, Trif.
tried to pursue it a long time ago, should know I should try again
I agree with BR! These are your children!
*I know I should...wow
Thanks angel. I am sorry your office needs to be open that much, if you understand my meaning?
You may have to assign your rights to the support to the county in return for getting financial assistance from the country during the interim
I found re8 by myself.
I do, Trif. I have done this work for 14 years. I have said that, if people would keep their hands off each other and keep their clothing intact, I would be out of a job almost immediately. that isn't much of an exaggeration.
Too many use children as bargaining chips.
I know Trif, BR you are right I should force him to take responsiblilty.
And too many think kids are things to dress up and show off and forget that kids need to be educated, civilized and socialized.
See: here comes honey boo boo
then there are those who just move out of state and forget they even have kids
(((((SMORES))))))
Aaaaahhhh. You just cannot fix stupid, and there is a stupidity epidemic.
I see that so much, smores, mostly Dads, but occ a Mom too.
There are interstate compacts to deal with those ..... the court in another state is supposed to take over enforcement upon a request by the home court
imho, scrabbs, ignorance is teachable; stupidity is voluntary.
Yes, which is why the stupidity epidemic scares me.
Wheeeee- the lady i am making a costume for just called in her kids specs, so its off to the fabric store i go! My idea of a perfect black friday shop! Have a good day everyone
Good luck, Trif.
The lone e in the 3rd column--hint?
By tonight thete will be one snazzy looking abominable snoman to be seen in these here parts! And i know, that was about 5 reasons to hit the PB!
Cool!
If stupidity is voluntary it will be news to the professionals ... playing stupid is not the same as being stupid
Yep
bye Trif :)
If ignorance is bliss, shouldn't the world be a happier place.
And anybody have a 9?
er 5/10 --- has no singular
ai8/9 combo
ai8/50 and 9/66 scrabs
Sadly, many ignorant people are perfectly happy living their ignorant lives.
and good morning everyone
Hi Flosey
pi9 x 2

I had oranges and a grapefruit with some toast sans the coronary
right noe I don't care if i never saw my stove again.
lol br,the next cancer will take me out long before the coronary
but you are right.my creations are a tad..heavy
Worrying about your diet is counter productive. Worry + stress. Which equals heart attack, high blood pressure, etc.
Illeism /ˈɪli.ɪzəm/ (from Latin ille meaning "he") is the act of referring to oneself in the third person instead of first person.
so relax and enjoy
Within reason.
crossy will remind crossy not to refer to crossy in the third person
Ah! A BR tid bit.
so just eat what you please and live happily ever after
Amen!
yup.in 100 years or less we are all a worm fest regardless
feast
actually crossy will not be a worm feast.i am being cremated and i told the wife to put my ashes in an egg timer so i can still do her soft boiled eggs for her in the morning
So when doc told to lose some weight, she was simply being a pedant
Well, It's her job to say that.
just think,i will never be late for breakfast:)))
kind of gross Crossy.
lol
: 0
why worry about breakfast ... keep the buffet out 24/7/365
lol
Like on a cruise ship.
two kids in the states were arrested last year for B&e.in addition to the standard charges they were also charged with dessacrating human remains.seems they heard on you tube that if you snorted a dead persons ashes you could get high.so they snorted they ladies dead husband that was uin a urn on the mantlepiece

Hope he gave them a headache.

That cremains to be seen
yukka yukka
i'm sure this is going over well with full thanksgiving stomaches
uuurrrp!
Okay, then I will save my story about remembering wind direction when scattering ashes at sea.
always sprinkle ashes downwind
my hubby has a story like that.
Wound up with Uncle Mort in his eyes. Oh, my!
lol
Wind is tricky at the seashore.
well now he can cry for uncle mort
lol Crossy
there is also a new fad of mixing the ashes in the polymer used to press records and the desceaseds favorite song is then recorded on it
Just let me go naturally. puulease!
taking a break. bbl
my da wants to be cremated and the remains dumped out the door of a float plane as we cruise over his favorite fishing spot in algonquin park(and yes a permit is needed for this)

It just shouldn't oughta be so hard to make friends on Facebook.
no, I did not go to Wellsely

Good Afternoon Everybody. How are you all on this very chilly day here?

Is yogurt an antidote to strep?
no, just good for restoring natural bacteria to the GI system.
no, BR. Yogurt helps the good gut bacteria
missing the pe 7's before and after our babbler -- any clues?
Antibiotics, probiotics, it's all so confusing. : O

Hi Diane
We do a big dinner, and with just family it's 23 I think. We all share the cooking, and sometimes, we've even ordered IN !! ( not often though )
vietnam era, welki?
sure - let's meet up in brockton!
I did all the cookin yesterday
yes sir, officer obie - i cannot tell a lie :)
nice hego
tired today
Thanksgiving day we potluck at my besties house, then the next day we gather at mine for leftovers. Busy cleaning house now (babble break) and have 1o for dinner.
I'll bet - I just did the potatoes and dressing
I have 3 married daughters right in the same town so we share most holiday event cooking and the daughter in law ( 3 hours away ) always brings the most lovely baking.
Yep hego, that's why my best friend and I went to this format 20 years ago. No need killing oneself off.
good idea Jilly.
Usually share with daughter but she was very busy this year so i volunteered.
That will teach me.
*hands hego mother of the year award* That was nice of you!
I'm doing Christmas eve this year... youngest daughter is doing Christmas day. I opted out, as we are leaving for Arizona a few days after and I'll be busy un-decorating and packing !
I had a can of Van Camp's with a V8 cocktail
I always do Christmas.
where'd you go, BR? you know, back then, i'd have thanksgiving dinner for anyone who didn't have anyplace else to go - was some of the best times
BR!!
sounds good to me BR :-)
lol
Hope you had some vodka in that V8!
and this is a big grid, so I'd better get started !

Hi, all!!! Loving this grid. {smores} and {sue}.
Bye nan - have a great evening :)
I again Mimi :)
lol..Hi not I :)
Hi {{{uusue}}}
Hi ya, Jilly!!
Hi mimi! how are you?
Having leftovers already!! Yum.
Jilly, can't even express how much I love Montana.
hi jilly and mimi!
well, I gotta go, be back tonight to finish ;) enjoy your day {{ group hug }}
How's it going, Sue?
{{Smores}}
We here would agree mimi, I take it you have been here?
pretty well, mimi, it is good to be home!
Yay! How is the food going?
oh the other hand, that means when Frank wants food he calls me instead of the hospital kitchen...
Oh, yes, a few times. Since I live in Arizona, it's not a bad drive. I especially love the area just next to Yellowstone. All that open space in Montana and, of course, the "big sky."
seems to be going fine, jilly, he is eating quite a bit.
I need more eggs, though, and am not thrilled about the idea of shopping today.
Do you have Safeway stores where you live, Sue?
That area is where I'm from mimi, grew up with Yellowstone in my backyard!
no, mimi, we have Jewel, Schnucks, Hy-Vee, and WalMart for grocery stores
I now live in the far sw edge of Montana. An hour south of Missoula
Fabulous, Jilly--I am envious. Yellowstone is my favorite national park---so diverse.
I think Jewel may be owned by the same people that own Safeway
Here in Phoenix Safeway has a grocery delivery service that is fabulous. Is it possible you have one there?
We honeymooned there. Hubby worked 2 seasons in the park, youngest son 3 seasons and oldest son just finished his second.
no, nobody delivers groceries here, we are too small a town.
I could probably go to the 7-11 or Walgreens just for eggs, though
Jilly, I have pictures of me 5 months pregnant with first child hiking trails there. Also, some with us and all three kids.
Sue, absolutely go to a convenience store for eggs---make it as easy on yourself as possible.
your turn peri
That's great mimi, am glad to hear of the hikes, too many people just come see Old Faithful or close geysers and never get off the path!
What hikes have you done? Fairie Falls, Mystic Falls and Storm Point are my favs
We used to go camping there at the end of the season when almost no one was there----loved it. I don't like to go in the summer----too crowded. The end of Sept. is terrific. I'd love to go in the winter, too but would have a bit of a problem with the noisy snowmobiles.
We did the winter once, not really too bad, they only allow the quiet engine snowmobiles in btw.
I don't remember which ones we did except for one which terrified me.....we were at the Upper Falls and somehow took a wrong turn to go back and ended up having to scale a metal stairway straight up---with all three children!! They were little, too, so had to hang onto them. I was terrified and wanted to kill the (now ex) husband for taking us there, as I'm sure it wasn't an accident.
We also love it in the fall. Only problem are the grizzlies. We ran into one once; on our 25th Anniversary trip hiking Storm Point
<--- would love to go to Yellowstone
ROFL..that's Uncle Tom's Trail. It is pretty wicked, but what a view of the Upper Falls. Did it many years ago, then again this year when I lost wgt and could manage it ;)
Sue, if you ever get a chance, do it. There are many easy trails in case you don't like the hiking. Jenny Lake is beautiful, too. That brings to mind a blonde joke I like....sorry, blondes...here goes:
ooooh, jenny lake is gorgeous! my grandmother took one of my photos and painted a beautiful piece for me
blondes are extinct anyways right? thought it all came out of bottle now;))))
It is 6 hours from my house uusue, but you would be welcome in my home anytime! We are closer to Glacier, but love Yellowstone so much that we rarely go to Glacier
A guy was camping and he went walking to find a store for supplies. After awhile with nothing in sight he saw a little store on the other side of a lake but there was no way to cross the lake. He saw a blonde come out of the store and yelled "How do you get to the other side?' She responded "You're already on the other side!"
maybe i can take a photo of it - brb
My blond hair is all white now :(
One more---Do you know how you can tell if someone has a blonde secretary? By the white-out on the computer screen.
Jilly---can I come, too??!!!
Absolutely!!! Mimi you are most welcome!
Thank you! I may take you up on that next Spring.
Well, gonna get back to cleaning house. bbl, i hope!
hang on a sec, jilly! pic should be my icon now!
OK---so did anyone think the jokes were funny?
yep - there it is!
they were cute..the ones i know cannot be posted here lol
ok welki
can you see it?
Crossy, I have two more that are my all-time favorites but are longer. Will get ambitious one day and post them.
Beautiful welki!

Now, truly must *poof*
Bye, Jilly {hug}!!
we honeymooned in the tetons - back therer many times since - go up to Yellowstone but love the tetons best. when it is crowded in the summer, go to the back side (Idaho side)
i have a 9/78 if you want it - only 9 i have
<-- spent a helluva evening at the cowboy bar in jackson
hint please Kate for the a 9
I love the Tetons, too. They were the first real mountains I saw the first time I drove cross-country. I thought they were amazing---looks like someone just plunked them down in the middle of a pasture! Oh, yeah, I know that bar!!
favorite camping spot - hot springs fed swimming pool just south and east of jackson
teach, you are making me yearn for Yellowstone/Tetons. We went in the early 80's
just back there summer before last
base is the pi 8/60 - apron... gilbert and sullivan the HMS ******** (ship) and then pl and pt
ty kate
One of my favorite places in Colorado is Ouray. Little town nestled into the mountains with hot springs as well. Kind of where we former hippies went to open rock shops and delis.
Katie , if you PT it instead of plural you will have the other one.
I have the two p 9's, need the third
if not camping there is a cheap hostel that is very nice in teton village
they call me buttercup, swett little buttercup...lalala
Sorry..did not see your post in time.

The ai
hi eieios, that's the only one I have
What about the m's that aren't related to the spice?
pi8 & 9
... mo5/12 ... Edward R. Moxxx ... spelled incorrecdtly
??
Thx, Tor
Did you mean Edward R. Mu****?
... was his name with a "u"? ... abject apologies if it was ... but that's who I meant ... but you gottat leave the last letter off
hi molly, torgone, dos!
... evening Sue ...
Got it either way, so thx. Still missing an m. Are there 4 with the spice then?
... monkeys haven't found that one yet either
ty dose
can I get a clue for the lone e under the central r?
... did you get the es4 which means two of a particular letter? ... add an "r" to it
thanks, dos!
now I have nbs and nbt.
mo4...Like Bo4 the Clown
... trying to use the fifth "m" for half way
... go go monkeys
that is a rather amusing-looking word, molly
Finally a clue on my level ..
.... don't care how it looks ... as long as the bar turns green .... ... thanks
Hello, Sue.
Even funnier Sue, it means male house servant. : D
Hello Babbleonia
Hey Wht
And Hello Babbleonia from me too :-)
Hi Soodle
Hey Molls :-). How was your Thanksgiving?
Very nice, thanks. : )
hi BR, soodle, wht!
I read that Downton has been renewed for Season 4. Yay!
<--- is in desperate need of a mo4/10
Mo4/10 is the one that sounds like Bo4 the Clown
Oh jeeze, never mind. You mean a real one.
are there two pi9s?
Hey everybody :-) Molly - glad your thanksgiving was good. Were the boys with you?
never mind, they're related :)
And Sue... so glad Frank is doing so well :-)
... you could wear two of them ... ro wear one yesterday
Well about needing an mo4/10...it's like what Helen Hunt's mother said in As Good As It Gets when Helen Hunt screamed I JUST WANT A NORMAL BOYFRIEND! Mom said, "We all do dear. They don't exist."
indeed, molly, I am waiting for the doorbell to ring any moment :-)
Yes Soodle, the whole clan was here for Thanksgiving.
thanks, soodle! he still doesn't feel good but he is a lot better than he was
Aaah! LOVE As Good As It Gets!
I like that movie, but parts of it bugged me. Like, if any woman ever hears "you make me want to be a better man" they need to RUN, RIGHT AWAY.
That's right up there with "I don't deserve you".
... fast and far ...
Sue... Onwards and upwards!! And Molly, its great that 'The Lads' were home!! On this side of the Atlantic, November is a yikky month.
... and the answer to that one is "damned right"
'I think of a man, & I take away reason............' Only Nicholson could deliver a line like that and get away with it!
lol and crossy lays down cwm in wwf;))
did you really, crossy?
i did indeed
in our game?
FW
Soodle, keeping in mind that you don't like November, I have Jamies and Tullamore in the house, to hold up your end of things.
going to WWF, byeee
My monkeys are not working for the z's. clues?
yes peri
... zo4/10 ... frozen water ending ... zo4/9 ... ends with half the stuff you're supposed to throw at weedings
wedings
Wingdings
... sorry I'm in the public library and there is a three year old throwing a major tantrum ... a very freudian moment
... and I still can't spell weddings
Got them! Thx. It was driving me nutso.
Oh I envy you your whiskey Molly, (even though I don't drink it). On this, the coldest night of the year to date, my heating has packed up. I am playing Babble dressed like an onion... I have about 17 layers of clothing on. I'm just waiting for my electric blanket to hotten up, then I'm off to bed...........
Oh no Soodle. We are having a bit of a cold front here, but I can't complain, if it were anywhere else you all would be maybe in shorts.
Lol @ Dose..
... I think you should drink the whiskey ... then you wouldn't need to wait for the electric blanket ...
dose, thats a concept for her to embrace.
... you don't hug the bottle ... you empty the bottle ... preferably into a glass ... then drink it ... ...
... silly
clue for er 5
Alas, Chez Soodle is a whiskey free zone, Dose. I must rely on the 'Lecky Blanky'.......
... if you've got the es4 that means two of the letter after "r" ... add an "r" to it
mmm whiskey
ty doseffing, great clue.
I didn't think the phrase "Whiskey Free Zone" was allowed in Ireland.
This is why Soodle and I are going to retire together. We will sit around, with two whiskey glasses out (both for me) and then if the Whiskey Police come around, she won't get kicked off of my island.
Its November, Molly! Traditionally a dry month...... (Perhaps to allow livers to prepare themselves for the rigours of Christmas etc....)
.............I DREAM about me n Moll's island.............
And you pay attention to this November thing because?
Well, apart from a liver thing, its also a financial thing.....
You are living on my island at the moment Soodle. Have you not seen Braveheart? With the crazy Irish guy who refers to Ireland as "my island"?
... Oh My God I'm Doomed ... arrggg
Dose, just take off your jacket and muzzle the kid.
... My brother in law has just shown up from Victoria BC and he and his wife want to take us to dinner ...
Oh, worse than the temper tantrum 3 year old.
Molly!!!! Unless you want your ears bored off you, never mention BraveHeart to me!! (Filmed 3 miles up the road from me yadda yadda yadda)
Bored? I would soak up every word with rapt attention.
... Twenty Five years ago on Grey Cup weekend my girlfriend and I took the new six week old baby to the West Coast ... rented a car ... and as we drove into their driveway ... my sister in law runs out and orders me to hurry into the house ... where there is a JP waiting with papers for a wedding that I wasn't planning ...
Quick Dose, turn off your cell phone and go hide somewhere.
... it's twenty five years later, the Grey Cup is happening, and they're showing up unannounced at my front door tomorrow ... ... I don't want a party!!!!! ... ... gotta go
soodles.the mrs and i are planning our first vacation next summer and are seriously thinking of Ireland.can we pick your brain when the time gets closer for good ideas while we are there?
Dose!!! I only just realised you are male! I don't know why that surprised me!!! (fluttering eyel...)ashes
we will have a two week window for it with some time in london england first to visit my uncle and family
thought it was a good way to start since i already have a valid u.k passport
COME TO IRELAND. COME TO IRELAND. COME TO IRELAND!!! Please!!!! I absolutely, 100% guarantee you a wonderful, unforgettable holiday!
were there any jewish actors in Braveheart?
Want a laugh? Mel Gibson is working on producing a movie about Judah Maccabee.
who is Judah Maccabee?
Heh heh heh. I'm inviting all and sundry to Ireland. Invitations to Moll n Sood's island will be much harder to get............. Interested parties, apply to the Moll n Sood show.........
That's funny Molly. Where'd you hear that?
oh...THAT JUdah
My 'all and sundry' invitation is issued to all Babblers. The guarantee applies....... Seriously!
The town I live near (Trim) is a Heritage Town . I see busloads of tourists arriving by the day, and I often wish to kidnap them, and take them off on a tour of the 'real Ireland'..
se 6/24 pls
nm, got it
Where is the real Ireland Soody
Off the beaten track, Bichon!!!
Name a place Soods
My sister went on a "spiritual" tour of Ireland. Sacred wells, clootie bushes, stone circles, the statue of Saint Gobnait...it looked magical to me.
I'm drooling Molly
eveing all - back for the last 30
I keep suddenly thinking of Dick Van Dyke dancing on the ro**tops of London with this grid.
and what the heck is a clootie bush?
chim chiminee, chim chim cherie
It sounds sexy.
cheroo
Hi Kaplan
Hi Glant
somewhere in there there must be a word.
Hi Bichon.
Hi Bichon, Kaplan, Molly, Soodle, and anybody else lurkiong
or even lurking
A clootie is a pi5 of old cloth that is tied around the branch of a bush or a tree by a sacred well. It is said to represent a prayer for someone.
so soodles,is trim a good place to build a vacation around?
My own town, Trim, Bich. Tourists are taken to the Castle, but there is so much more.... the echo gate, the famine graveyard, the frozen couple, the fairy fort.... etc etc
oh, I have seen those in France - always wondered what thye were for - bet they have a sexier name for them though :-D
but the mrs and i want to see the real ireland
this is a one shot deal and will never happen again.i have no wish to mess it up
<--- would also love to visit Ireland
and hi again all!
so any advice soodles will be appreciated
Hi Sue
Crossy - Trim is only an hour from Dublin Airport, so its a great place to start. But, a visit to Kerry, Connemara and Donegal is a must!
suze!!
hi glant, crossy, soodle!
((((Sue))))
good evening all
hi wv!
hello sue - how is it going?
Hi teach
good, wv, we are home!
Is Shave .. anywhere near Trim Crossie?
what wonderful news - must feel so good to be home again
Hi, all. Soodle, I'm Irish descent and also would love to see Ireland. My first grandson was born on St. Patrick's Day!! I have blue eyes, freckles, the Irish porcelain skin and was a redhead until I turned gray!!
Welcome back home, Sue.
Ruru!!! I defy you to say something about Trim that hasn't already been said!!!!
it really does, wv (although I have yet to put away the laundry or do the dishes - I did put away the dishes, though)
thanks, wht!
((((Mimi)))) I'd say we are related!!!
My husband used to refer to trim as...nope, can't say that here.
I bet only Fit people live in Trim
Just found the ai8/9 combo. Made me think of laden African swallows.
just enjoy being home and don't try to do too much
lol, ruru!
how many words end with erry in ths grid - I keep finding them LOL
they don't give out keys to the city in Trim.. only scissors...
but no one runs in Trim because of that...
Ss finally slain
It's true. All bets are off. The PB is a thing of the past.
OOOOO, ru!! Did coctail hour come early today?
cocktail hour! Now there's a thought - it is 5:00 here now!
Only 4 here, Sue, but 3 in Napa where ruru is.
fessed
(Studiously ignoring Ruru)..... My lecky blanky is hottened up. I will bid you all a very good night, and repeat my invitation to visit my (Ruru-maligned) home!! (((Ruru)
I'm sorry!!! Total accident. Must have a beverage...it's 5 here.
But as the saying goes, "It's 5 o'clock somewhere."
Nos da Soodle - enjoy a cosy sleep
soodles if you are willing, can you send me your email addy so i can pick your brain on and off in the next few months for good ideas
night, soodle, and we may take you up on your offer one day!
It's 11 o'clock here and the red wine is flowing
Is there a flag of peace?
Night, Soodle!! Just hope we don't all show up at the same time!!
Soodle's email is in her profile.
ty molly
and if you mae it across the pond to see Soodle and feel like a tour of Wales, I am your woman! I can give good guided tours of the best 30 Welsh castles LOL
Thanks Molly.... I was wondering if I had deleted it!
Isn't that the UN flag, Ruru?
we will indeed be roaming around the isle glant so anything is possible
Oi! Glan.... don't be poaching my Babble-meet!!!!! LOL
Crossy...yesterday my bro-in-law fried a turkey for us, but to start, he deep fried some bacon. The men went wild for it!
You would be very welcome to vist Crossy, and I could put you and your good lady up for a night or three into the bargain - I live about 10 miles form Cardiff
the idea of deep frying a turkey seems scary
NIght all... enjoy your holiday weekend. Hugs all round.
We can collude Soodle - a Celtic tour!!!!
hi everyone
It makes a very juicy bird, and takes about 1/4 of the time. Doesn't LOOK all that snazzy, but you get the drift.
I have American friends who tell me it's the only way t cook a turkey - and that of the fat is hot enough, it doesn;t absorb any fat.
crossy, that was my first impression but I was assured that it was not fatty at all, Champ could tell us?
ah, Champ has already told us, thanks Champ
Actually, British fish'n'chip shops all sell chicen portions which are deep fried, and i hve to admit that thye are yuimmy
It really was great! Even the white meat was juicy. I'd do it again, for sure.
Hi Flosey
or, sorry, Glant made that comment re fatty
Same idea as fried chicken which most of us love.
hi Glant - wish I could talk hubby into that trip to Wales - his grandmother left at 16, by herself, to come to Canada
Except no breading.
About 6 yars ago I paid £46 for a 'brinze, heritage, free range turkey. I cooked it very carefully, with all manner of trimmings and methods designed to retain moisture and flavour. It was the very best turkey I have ever eaten, but not nice enough to justify the cost. I have decided goose is the way forwards LOL
we came over in 66 flosey and only my brother has ever been back for mums funeral
he has always wanted to go back to see if the old house still stands - mind you, his grandmother at 16 - wow, going back to 1870 +/- long way back
No breading on UK fried chicken either - just deep fried chicken protion with skin on
Dear goodness Glantarell! That's one fancy pants turkey!
Do you have the address Flosey? I could check out whether the hosue still stands...
I'll try to find it, bbs
Glant: Cakfield Villa, 10 Dunraven Place, Wyndham, Cgmore Vale (maybe Ogmo? SW Glam
does this tell you anything? it was on an old envelope
Ogmore Vale. Now, there's a place. A small town at the end of a steep sided valley. Last time I went there was in about 1998, and I have to say there looked to be distinct signs of inbreeding :-(
I will check it out
oh my, well she left there maybe around 187?? or thereabouts if she was only 16 at the time
Dunraven Place still exists.
doesn't sound like a single family dwelling, more like perhaps a nursing home or something of that nature?
Go onto google steet search thing on maps, and search forOgmore Vale, Bridgend CF32 7ET and you can see a photo - it is a terraced house
thanks Glant, I will, hubby will be very interested
I lie. It is on a street where most of the hosues are terraced, but you can find number 10 on the google street thing and it is a detached stone house
this link will take you near: https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=ogmor\ne+vale+surgery&ie=UTF-8&ei=jQOwUNH8AeS\nc0QXDiYGIBw&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAA the you can fiddle about
In the 1870s the house would have been relatively new - this was a mining community, housing built for the miners, mines probably operated form about 1850/60 onwards
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ogmore_Va\nle
thanks again, will check all
and sorry folks for taking up so much chog space but this is very interesting to hubby
Ogmore Vale is about 22 miles form em
*from me
don't worry, flosey, I find it quite fascinating as well!
If you ever come to Wales, I'd be happy to take you there Flosey
how kind of you Glant, I'll try to talk him into taking the trip
and thanks Sue
Many miners form south Wales emigrated to the Philadelphia area, and there are speech patterns in that area which are only heard in Wales and Philly
like, 'by here', 'over by there'
interesting
Hubby had an exchange teacher from Wales working in the physics dept. he and his wife visited us a couple of years ago
Time to forage for turkey leftovers. BBL.
enjoy, WHT
sounds good wht
ok, going to check out these addresses
*fireflies* - and my last word might apply to leftover Thanksgiving food - re5/20 - to cook in fat again
good luck flosey
yay glant!
and my email address is in my profile if you need it
11.30 and time to head off to bed, night all
night, glant!
Oh lord, our Thanksgiving food was rich enough without cooking it in fat again.
ours too - i had to laugh when i realized that even the vegetables - squash with a stick of butter and some heavy cream - broccoli slathered in a blue cheese sauce - were not so very healthy
lol that because you were having a cheese and cream dish with broccoli dressing hehe
I know I went through a pound of butter with everything that I made for Thanksgiving.
Good Evening again
howdy nef
Good morning everyone :)
howdy liz
Hi, all. Hey, guys, who cares if a couple of times a year you pull out all the stops and eat what you love?!! I have a friend who went vegan and I told her if I couldn't have cheese, I'd lose the will to live.
Hi Mimi - I so agree with you!
Ch 6 is my weakness - only keep it in the house sometimes or I eat it like choccy!
I don't eat a lot in any given day, but I do eat whatever I want. I'm 61----I've decided to enjoy the rest of my life. When it's my turn to go, God knows where to find me! Remember the big running guy, Jim (?) Fix? Ran marathons, etc., and fell dead young. When it's your time....it's your time. That's my belief and I'm stickin' to it!
I'm with you there - live life to the full while you can.
Spent years watching what I ate and trying to stay thin. Now that my looks are gone, I'm settling for being colorful.
It would be very sad to have your last thought be "I wish I had enjoyed life more".
Colourful is great - it's about how you feel and what you do with life
So I really enjoyed the beef we had last night!
Always been mindful of the what if's. Don't have many of those since I've done so very much. People think I'm diverse and curious when actually I just have a short attention span!
Molly, that's the way I feel about cleaning. I don't think my last thought will be "Gee, I wish I'd cleaned more." So I do other things and get around to it when I can.
I think people thought I was mad and brave when I moved to Aus 4 years ago but it's a great adventure every day. I do miss friends though and my family.
Hate cleaning!!!!
Need a roommate, Liz?!!!
Can you imagine if a "I haven't cleaned ..." was your last thought??? I'll have to ask my gorgeous hubby, Mimi?
If you're ever this way though ...
Liz, where were you from before Australia?
London
Another place I'd love to visit. I have some travel plans to make for the Spring, so....you never know. Hey, I have a room here in Phoenix if you come here!
I'll bear that in mind
Many people don't understand how I can love living alone but I always have my own head for company. It's comforting being schizophrenic---you're never alone and you're always entertained!! (Kidding about the schizo part, btw.)
What prompted your move, Liz?
I lived alone for quite a while before I met my hubby - but wouldn't go back now. Blissfully happy. Hubby is an Aussie - met him in London.
10 years ago I wouldn't have imagined this life in my wildest dreams!
I lived in Los Angeles with an Aussie briefly----it wasn't good. But he was crazy---really. Don't hold that against Aussie men. Is he at all chauvinistic? I didn't marry until I was 30.
No not in the slightest bit chauvinistic! I only married 4.5 years ago - I'm 58!
Been with my man almost 10 years
Love it when changes happen and shake things up. Of course, I could have done without the heart attack I had earlier this year, but God doesn't want me there yet. I think he'll leave me here a long time because he doesn't want me there criticizing how he's doing things!!!
Sorry to hear about the heart attack - you look after yourself! Too many things still to do here!
Were you single until then? Wow---thought I waited awhile. Had all 3 of my kids in my 30's....should have raised dogs and cats instead....
Oprah had the right idea---have a great career, make lots of money, never marry and raise dogs.
Taught kids, knew men but never wanted my own kids.Teaching - hmm - not much money there!!!!
No, but I'll bet it was rewarding. We all have teachers that have influenced our lives.
But for much of the time I loved teaching - kids were great, even the challenging ones. It was all the govt crap around it that spoiled it - like in many other jobs.
Time to go and move some concrete! Working on our garden! Back later to try and nail a few of the 100 words that are left!
I went to a small rural school in Ohio. My senior year I had an English teacher who said we had to do the required tests, etc., but the rest of the class time all year we spent reading and discussing "The Prophet." Changed my life.
Bye, Liz! Tote that barge, lift that bale!!!
That sounds good - taught primary but literature (literacy) was my speciality!
Bye for now!
I'm gone for awhile, too.
May I please have a clue for pe7-32 the 1st?
thanks
pe7...Babble player + abbreviation for a teacher's organization
Or Babble player + first three of not messy
Oh sorry, that is the second.
Thanks much, Molly. Yes, I needed that one also.
The first one is a jury of your pe4 + Loch N*** monster
Thanks once more.
Hi all, back for my last 39.
Hey there, wht.
Hi Wht, how was Turkey: Take 2
It was delicious.
It is a good think I like this meal because I am likely to be eating it for several more days.
I've gotten methodical about sending home enough leftovers with the kids to leave us with a day of leftovers. Then the rest goes in the freezer.
Clue for the se6,24. It comes after what the eyes do.
se + vowel + first three of Sonny's singing ex-wife
ty Molly. I was not seeing that one.
Who would? It's some weirdo word for oscillating water in a lake. We call them swirlies. : D
Plus it's all twisted up like a pretzel. : )
I do find it hard to find words I do not know.
Fireworks
Yay for King Wht!
Congrats, wht!
Yay wht!
Well done wht!
Good evening everyone!
Hi Car. I keep meaning to ask you, how are you liking Chicago Fire. I really like it and I thought their Thanksgiving episode was very well done.
I haven't even watched it, Molly. :9
Oh my, the Jesse Spencer love must have fizzled out.
I am just toooooo busy!
Well Good night to Babbleonia. See you later.

Hello Lizlin! How are you doing? Welcome to the chat log.
Hello MimiCat!How are you doing?Welcome to the chat log
sorry, my computer is being weird
Thanks, Min.
I had a great Thanksgiving MollyL, thanks! How about you?
Smores, think somehow your computer caught the problem mine was having yesterday?!!!
lol..I don't know Mimi, keeps locking up.
Maybe you should try re-booting it.
1st time I thought it was babble, it froze for long time then babble shut down.
Whenever something like that happens to mine, the first thing I try is re-booting. Seems to solve a variety of issues.
it is also the first thing tech support will suggest when you call them, so i always get that out of the way first :)
Hello LeslieAnn! How are you doing? Welcome to the chog.
heya min
I had a great Thanksgiving too, Min. Nice day with my kids. : )
Yeah, I'll try that if it does it again, overdue in cleaning the cache and history. Problem wouldn't hurt to run the registry cleaner
* probably
That is good. I went to Long Island and celebrated with my mother-in-law, her sister and her family. It took us 2 hours to get out there&three hours to come back home
Lunch over, so hi again
Traveling is tough on Thanksgiving weekend. So many people going to visit family.
My annual pie that I make every year was a hit.I only make it once a year because it's such a pain in the arse to make.
ooh what kind
hiya liz
I make French Silk Pie. It is a very rich chocolate cream pie
and Hi leslie
heya smores
yummy Min
I think JillyJill made that same pie as well. Must be good if so many people like it.
you had me at chocolate cream!
Very yummy - put some in the PB!!!
Recipe calls for 4 eggs, each egg to be beaten for five min each. I made a double recipe & needed to beat 8 eggs so I am beating eggs for 40 minutes. My arm gets so very tired!
I'm gonna call it a night - have a wonderful evening everyone ( day to you Liz :0 )
Now there is a cooking direction I have never heard before.
Sleep well smores :)
Goodbye smores! I'll see you tomorrow in the chog maybe.
wahoo found a 9 all by myself
good night smores
Better than going to the gym Min - much more rewarding in the end!
Well after the third egg, my hand mixer broke and I had to run out to the store to get another mixer.Whole thing took me two hours to make. I really need to get a kitchen-aid!
{{ group hug }} poof
I just looked at Martha Stewart's recipe. I didn't realize it was a refrigerated, no bake pie. Unusual for something with eggs in it.
I use the recipe that is on allrecipes.com.Best one there is.
i have used that site for years min. not that i cook too much but it is a good guide
I use that one and cooks.com, but allrecipes.com is better.
I was about to put me and MolyL into the PB for recipe, but it isn't in the grid thank goodness. It's just a phantom word
it is in the plural

Aw, Larry Hagman died. : (
Oh, no! I thought he looked kind of pale the last time I saw him. Did that new series make it to TV?
Yes, it's on TNT. Hagman has been battling cancer and cirrhosis for a long time.
I always thought it was fun the way Hagman went from loveable Major Tony Healy to evil villain JR Ewing.
Thanks, Molly. I often wished I could have seen his mother, Mary Martin, when she was doing Broadway.....South Pacific was one.
I loved Mary Martin. The TV version of Peter Pan was something I looked forward to every year, as a kid.
I don't remember seeing it, but I bet she was great.
