So humid here!

No way jilli - yuck!

There was an Aussie lady on TV here (in Vancouver), saying she had wanted just ONE cold Christmas, and she's getting it, although it's much colder elsewhere.
last time I was in Canada, I experienced a lovely -27
going to be very cold here for christmas, but our weather forecasts change all the time
I can say that was friggin nasty!!

Dec 21 is your birthday, Liz? Have a happy one.
ty - funny it was the shortest day of the year in the UK - here it's the longest! Obvious I know but still weird!
it's the day our days get longer, yay!
I used to look at it as the longest night of the year - lots of time to party!
i wonder if this giant media hype will spark a lot of terrible things in this world
I can understand why you'd say that!
yay for longer days!!! I can back off all that vitamin D soon!
Like the y2k bug????
bedtime for me night all!
I was in Alberta... Banff
i cant stand doomsday crap... sorry, but it brings out some terrible and sad situations
BBL - sleep well all in the US and Canada - mrp and any others over here - have a good evening :)

nice, mrp -- I'veneve been there, really, except on a train when I was 8, and what impressed me was that there was a chewing gum machine in the railway station -- I'd never seen such a thing, and gum was a severe no-no in my British Shanghai school.
*I've never...
bye Liz
hello ladies
hi bugs!
just arrived. I lived in Banff for a couple of years. It is beautiful
how did banff get such a funny name?
yay -- nbs!
ruru, there's a town in Scotland with that name...
and hello, ru
oh.. I didn't know that
Hi jilli and ruru... again.
And Bugsaw.
hi neil
hi neil -- ty for the email re the divas
hi Neil and ru
Hi flosey.
maybe the Scots meant it to be (hi neil) Bant.. but were too drunk on scotch to pronounce it correctly jilli
shame on you, ruru (from a wee scts lassie)
mr cold play.. (giggles)
*scots (typo time, I see)
Very funny ru. :P
are you kidding me .? that's a classic
Pffft. :P
:D HA
There's an update about it on profile ru.
dr drew.. are you kidding me what the hell was he doing there
neil, you really did look negative
Huh. Oh, you watched it jilli? Ha.
was he looking for L Lohan?
Yep. Well you would too if you just got fired.
omg jilli I busted a gut on that one.. it's hysterical
sure I did, neil!
I didn't even get to play a full scale there, geez.
and you were effectively blotted out by nene (nene? the Hawaiian goose? or is it dede, or what? -- I'm not up on blonde black divas)
Yep. NeNe Leakes.
one good thing neil
Haha @ "blonde black divas... but that's what she is!
Woops. Missed the closing quotation. Here: "
What's that ru?
she didn't call you flock of seagulls
:D
With my hair? Uhhh, no. Think I'd need to have weird blonde spiked hair for that.
hahahahahahahahhahahahah
your hair is lovely, neil
"I walked along the avenue..."
I bet Elisse would agree.
Lovely? :P Yeah... ok.
Haha. Well... she's kinda biased.
hey.. ya have hair kid.. shut up already
:-D
there will come a time when you'll be grateful you have thick hair
Haha. A little while ago my dad posted: "Today is Mayan 12.19.19.17.17 Friday will be 13.0.0.0.0. Should be no problem since Mayans wrote everything in Linux"
over halfway, btw
did the mayans account for daylight savings time?
well done Jilli
ty bugs
I'm doubting that.
I don't list until I am at least half way
i'm crashing. another big day of driving.. good night all
thanks for the laughs
nite ruru
chacun à son gout, bugs ;-)
Night ru.
Sleep well.
gnight ruru xx
bye for now
Are you giving me permission to list sooner, Jilli? Some days I am sorely tempted
sure, bugs, why not? I'm no masochist.
that is what it feels like for sure! tho I do it to stretch my brain so I don't get too stupid too early
you hae nothing to worry about there, bugs
I keep seeing words which are German names of Great Danes I wrote about, like "Astid"
I keep trying adios and quotes
and ther was a famous British champion Estid Elch of Ouborough. Estid is here too
I think adios works when it's not a phantom
I am just full of cold and Mr Bugs is making me hot rums to cure it. hahaha
fading fast -- bed beckons. Snow in the forecast -- glad I got my Xmas stuff couriered to the family yesterday.
Oh, nice Mr Bugs -- give him hugs, you lucky thing!
aren't you going to Dave's for Christmas Jilli?
yes, I am -- weather permitting -- so I send my stuff ahead in case I can't make it.
how nice. I go down to see the kids on the weekend before Christmas to see them and exchange gifts then I am home here to have a quiet day with Mr. Bugs and adult family up here
That sounds lovely, bugs. Hope your cold will be gone by then.
me too! hence the rums
I had fun packaging those things I got at the First Nations gallery -- included writeups about the artists which I had googled. I warned grandson not to make any smart remarks about Beau Dick (included a link to a video of him -- lovely guy).
When idi your cold start, bugs?
*did ( ugh -- terrible typo!)
I have a Beau Dick. He is a lovely guy
My cold started with a sore throat on the weekend and completely stuffed up on Monday. I need to get over it quickly so I can wrap everything to take it down on Friday. I am forgetting the baking. Just giving them recipies
We know too little about all those artists.
i met Beau and got a print from him years ago when we were both young. I knew he would make a name for himself
Take care, bugs, and take it easy. You sound sensible. I must crash now -- get well xx
Wow, lucky you!
sleep well Jilli

our puppster is golden retriever and chow - her name is blondie - she still has a puppy chow face
this was our new chw, Rufie's first winter (one yr old last week) and he loves snow, eats it and runs in circles when it crunches
how big will your dog be? Our chows go up to about 75 lbs, but I think retrievers are bigger
Marshall Tucker http://tinyurl.com/d2kbgy4
blondie is a sunshine girl - she loves the beach - right now she is about 65 pounds
hey rab - thanks for the info on the song
hello BR
how old is she
tads
Hello
bad ruby! sit!
she is about 5 years old ruby
How are you doing, Ren?
I'm surprised that she weighs only 65, the chows are very big-boned, maybe that's why they're so heavy. never fat, though, lol
doing ok rab - had a couple of falls - tripped over blondies tail and fell into the roll top desk - silly me
blondie is pretty slim and tall - she runs a lot too
bad ren! falling is the worst
i know ruby - i've hurt both sides - and bruises, contusions - fill like a ditz
i feel like.....
chemo affect your balance, Ren?
I know what you mean. And you always feel dopey, afterwards
I didn't know yu were having chemo, ren! Welcome to the post-cancer club!!!!!

right-o ruby
Well, I hope the residuals heal quickly

i was married to a viet nam vet rab - he passed from hep c. he was a very nice man and treated me like a princess. i still miss him to this day. there are people in your life who make a lasting impression, rex was one of those people.
So sorry, Ren.
War is a life-changer .... I would like to see all reps who vote to send people to a war zone fitted with a uniform and sent to the front lines.
yes - rab - i stay in contact w/ rex's friends and my former IDF unit.
You served in Israel?
yes rab - when you turn 18, you are conscripted for 2 years, if you live in Israel or hold dual citizenship.
You have experienced a lot in your life, Ren.
as you know rab - it takes a toll on your life. you either live to stay alive or you just veg out. i'm ready to veg for a while

i love what my friend's youngest daughter said to her older sister who was twirling around to music "you need to be careful twirling so you don't lose your facts - i was twirling the other day and lost my math facts"......so we need to be careful when we twirl...we can no longer afford to lose our math facts! :)
The math says I have been around awhile, gave it all the will and insight I could muster and now am told I have to accept I will not get better .... now, I am just tired. No twirling for me.
ok - with my falls - and your not getting better - we will obviously keep our math facts
Thanks, Ren.
Good Morning, Afternoon, Evening and all the times inbetween to you.
Looks like it is just me and the stealth babblers here...ok diving in....*splash*

My dear lurker is on now and I can't email her because when my puter was hacked, I lost all of my email addresses......just wanted to say "Hi".
hi peach, sorry to hear that.
who's your dear lurker?
Phantom: heliosciophyte
that was the first one I tried, BabbleRabble :) Hello, good to see you.
I tried the plural!
lol..yer right haha
lol Champ, no past tense?
Thanks sprite, I will call her soon.....must try to get some sleep now.
ok peach, sleep well
plurals are easier. ;)
Was going to look up what it means but can`t be bothered right now.
true. Ok, I give, for the phantom. Something with sunlover?
gooogle to the rescuuuuuue
here goes: plant that thrives in sun better than shade
plant that thrives in sun better than shade
:)
I'm now filled with knowledge!
and looking that one up I found halolimnic.
do tell...
I would like to buy a heliosciophyte plant please.
which of course, as you all already knew, means: of, like or pertaining to sea creatures who spend time in fresh water
A man walked into a bar and sat down, ordered a beer. As he sipped the beer, he heard a soothing voice say, "Nice tie!" Looking around he noticed that the bar was empty except for himself and the bartender. A few sips later the voice said, "Beautiful shirt." At this, the man called the bartender over. "Hey, I must be losing my mind," he told the bartender. "I keep hearing these voices saying nice things, and there's not a soul in here but us." "It's the peanuts," answered the bartender. "They're complimentary."
Of COURSE!!!
roflol
giggle giggle
hi Sugr :)
LOL i like that!
I should remember this one. Usually when I am called upon to tell a joke, all I can remember are the bad ones... the dirty ones.
why isn't 'taoist' valid?
sprite, is Christmas on the 25th again this year?
not sure, let me check my calender :)
Don% know why isn% taoist valid.....oh sorry i thought you were telling a joke..hahaha
lol zooz... no I was serious. I mean... taoism, taoist, right?
Well to be honest..i do not know.
obviously I am wrong. Ah well, am used to that ;)
Two giraffes were in a race. They were neck and neck.
I'm in agreement on taoist, but too lazy to look it up to see if it's in another dictionary.
thats the only clean joke i know.
lol
my only clean one is: two mice are taking an evening stroll. Then a bat flies over. One of the mice is scared. The other says: "Nah, don't worry, that is my nephew, he is in the USAF."
ummmm....
My hamster died today...he fell asleep at the wheel.

Have a good day :)
Grapefruit Is a Culprit in More Drug Reactions http://tinyurl.com/bmn5cm4
now that is scary. Didn't know that.
i love grapefruits, but as you see it can be troublesome as drugs are enhanced with the combo of grapefruit and certain drugs
Stupid drugs. Amazing that a simple grapefruit can cause so much trouble.
worth checking. I love grapefruit too.
omg... I have taken oxycodone for a long time, together with lots of grapefruit juice. Never knew it could be harmful. And they checked me over and over again for asthma during that time.
Good grief! Maybe there was a simple explanation? Wow sprite!
amazing. Well, I don't use oxycodone anymore, and the stuff I do use is not on the list. So it looks I am safe now.
thanks BabbleRabble, for the headsup
Champ, when I started on antidepressants, I also took a tincture of Saint John's Worth. Then I looked up the side effects etc and I just happened upon information that the combination can be really dangerous. No warning from doctor, pharmacist or .... not sure of the word, the paper they enclose in meds to tell you about the stuff.
Can anyone know ALL the interactions? It would seem impossible.
BBL...must shove kids out the door...
well, they should put it on that piece of paper they enclose as soon as they find out.
Sprite, Ii think the key is finding a pharmacist who is really diligent and knowledgeable. Like any profession, you have the good and the bad and the in-between. We have to be so proactive in our own health.
very true, Mimi. Our pharmacy isn't that great. None of them are, in our neighbourhood. Ah well, sometimes we are guided to what we need... as happened to me with that information on the serotonin syndrome
I did medical transcription for years and know more than the average person but still look everything up and get as much info as possible. Actually, the doctors don't want us doing that...they think we get too scared. But I believe it is THEM who are scared that we'll get too competent and not need them so much!
I am very lucky with my doctors, they encourage that. I try to look up everything, both on paper and on the internet. But still.
good morning all
hiya teach :)
Hi wvt :)
i think your "good" doctors want their patients to be proactive and knowledgeable
It's a struggle to keep up as we get older. I'm very fatalistic most of the time. I figure when it's my time to go, God knows where to find me and if it's not my time, no way will I leave no matter what!
Hi, teach! Oh, and Morning everyone!
Hi Mimi :)
I am kind of in the middle, I think. I do trust in God, but I know He expects me to tie my camel to the temple post ;)
I agree, teach. Don't even get me started on doctors! I worked with them for so many years---oh, the stories I could tell.
yes, I think so too, teach. My doctors are great that way. I get all the information I want, or pointers on where to get more. And they don't pretend to know more than they do.
Certainly, sprite....God does help those who help themselves. Sounds like you have really good doctors.
yes I do. Took me ages to find them, but am very happy with them now.
((LIZ))
lol, reminds me of that very faithful man who di4...
Love that story, sprite!
NBT and NBS - time to get on with a busy day - BBL
me too :D
bye teach, have a wonderful day
Have a good one, teach and sprite!
will play music all day and have a wonderful christmas lunch with lots of music friends
er.... no, me too for loving that story
I still need 8 words :)
sounds lovely, teach! Enjoy it :)
If I ever get down to just needing 8, I'll throw myself a party!
lol
Have a good day wvteach - I'm also outta here with 36 to finish tomorrow. Hope you all have a good day :)
Bye Liz and a big hug to you.
bye Liz, sleep well :)
ah, the darn mosquito was my last one. Fireflies!
Good for you, sprite!
well, off with me, unless I can give clues?
dote
Sorry....PB for me!
*grin* as long as you don't call me an id5... Bye all, have a good day and a peaceful evening.
{{sprite}}
Hi Mimi, sprite
Good morning everyone...not really "here" yet, but wanted to say "Hi"!
good morning all
stats for the a and e in the second column?
as 5/12
et 5/12
as5/12 and et5/12
((bichon, trentsnana and car))
ty!
whoa car is too fast for me :-)
And hi, dan!
morning all
I'm gone until later. Good day to all.
bye Mimi
morning folks
if there are any folks
ohhhhhh i wish i were in the land of cotton, old times there are not forgotten
look away, look away, look away, dixieland
land of cotton is hot and muggy and full of bugs
i know, but it's winter, so it shouldn't be that bad right now, right?
anyway i don't REALLY wish i were in dixie... went to tennessee once and even there felt very odd. just a nice song.
yeah, we're pretty odd here in Tennessee :-)
morning :-)
not sure it's that YOU'RE odd - but i felt very foreign. out of place.
totally understand -- I often do myself as well
off to grab some coffee -- back in a bit *poof*
hottie is totally a word.
so is dosido
oh, i think that's hyphenated though, or something
morning all and how many words today and thanks
160
and its only two days until the end of the world! Everyone getting prepared?
if only!
For some reason no one is willing to sign over power of attorney to me in preparation. I also can't get them to send me all of their assets. Can't say I didn't try though.
what would be the point? if the world ends, NOBODY needs power of attorney cause there will be nobody here
then it shouldn't matter to them if I have it!
but naturally they don't want to bother with unnecessary paperwork in their last few days.
then they can just send me all of their money and we can just skip the paperwork ; )
even sending money takes effort.
I'm willing to pick up
Hi folks
hello bichon
wahoo!!! Obama's Time magazine's Person of the Year!
has he been it before?
dunno
done... nice grid overall
congrats, hursh!
yes, obama was also in 2008 when first elected.
do 6/24?
do6/24 past tense of do4 just above
nm got it
:-D
Good morning, all. My my. Time magazine has certainly lowered the bar.
*snicker*
Personally, I would have picked someone who wasn't a politician. Y'know, someone who actually accomplished something worthwhile.
ok, I'm outta here -- I thought we agreed not to make this kind of comment in the chog -- bye *poof*
*sigh*
I publically apologize for insulting Time magazine.
I think people forget this country is very divided on their feelings about our current president. the election was hardly a landslide. best if we keep him out of our chat, i guess....
i think i would have picked the teachers who died at sandy hook.
died saving or trying to save their students
or maybe all the first responders and medical personnel who had to deal with the aftermath....
seems like something everyone could have agreed on.
I think the "Man of the Year" issue was printed long before.
how about some clues for the 7s? or i need clues for the i that is in bottom line of the grid please.
me too, mkg. also the o up top is giving me fits
I hope no one calls me an id5/12 for not knowing the answer
Di5/12, River.
that's about the only i have. probably b/c it takes one to find it. lol
oops
river? oh there are so many
ty river. got the id word
Out of curiosity, (as an only infrequent reader of your chat), have you agreed to avoid all political comments or only those relating to Obama? Incidentally, I think most informed commentators in the UK were very relieved when he won (not that that necessarily means very much).
Out of curiosity, (as an only infrequent reader of your chat), have you agreed to avoid all political comments or only those relating to Obama? Incidentally, I think most informed commentators in the UK were very relieved when he won (not that that necessarily means very much).
Apologies, not sure why that appears twice!
I don't recall agreeing to any such thing, Ray. Everyone has varying degrees of sensitivity to political related remarks/discussion. Some are more sensative than others.
i avoid all. my opinions tend to be strong, so i keep them to myself. =)
ray, it gets hot when people comment on things sometimes. the person insulted was une. and she is the one who pointed out that obama was time man of the year.............
too true
there are no rules here.
we try to be curteous and respect each other
Yes. We observe complete anarchy!!
now clue me some o's and i's, please!
i think we agreed no cursing. sometimes a person comes in and curses and writes porn. we just ignore.
Oa5: Like browned bread without the T.
By the way, people here are totally shocked by the shootings in Newtown. It must be a truly awful time for the families & community.
Oa5/10: Aquatic respite in the desert.
Thank you, Ray. It was/is an unspeakable tragedy.
plural the oa 5 like browned bread.
those poor families who lost children, and lost loved ones. my opinion is that he must have had a schizofrenic break and the guns were there. if the guns werent there, maybe he would have strangled his mother and perhaps one other. but it is what it is.
We may never know what the young man's motivation was, mkg. As more information comes out, I kind of wonder if the mom had the guns to protect herself from him.
in israel daily there are rockets being fired and people are killed and injured and lose limbs and it is seldom covered in our press. and what about what goes on in africa? horrible murders and tribal fights and we dont hear or read of them. i guess i get upset that our u.s. press is so totally focused on the u.s. and there is not much global news really.
There is no logical explanation for any of it.
ANY CLUES for the A or E in second column? i dont have either word.
nor do i have the h word for the h in second column.
the h is the past tense of another h4
as5/12
mael i dont see that. i have some past tenses........
I was trying to ignore these comments but I've had it! If you can come on-line to play a game, you can come on-line and sign up for some newspapers!
I read 6 of them and I can't say I never heard of the things happening across the world!
i got that h..........it is a past tense h 4, what farmers do with a tool that is three letters starting with an h. and it is past tense. farmers ho** the ground.
et5/12
hoot, what is carried is really a tiny bit compared to what the european papers carry. but maybe you read the papers from europe. or canada.
Judi - I am fed up with your dissing of the President. We are supposed to be a group who respects everyiones opinions. You are just a pest! And pretty dumb too!
Okay, hootowl. As is everyone else, you are entitled to your opinions.
hoot why so angry? everyone is entitled to his or her opinion. lets not get angry ok?
and lets change this to just clues for now. ok?
i got the as 5. it is a and then a four letter s word!
and the et i got too. ty for clue. et 5 ends in snake letter.
well i only have one 7. anyone have others besides the di 7?
The et 7 is the plural of the et 5
got it babble. ty.
de7/32 is pl of de6/21 - to hate
i wonder if that et 7 is really a word..........sounds fishy. i say we discuss how many of these words arent really words. i often look them up in websters and they arent there..........what do you all think about that one? we have about 10 disctionaries and so many words arent in them.
ty got de 6 and 7. great clue.
where did judi go? and hoot?

di 7/32 -- a malady like cancer or heart di 7
i guess i am weird because i see the pluses and the minuses to our president and to all politicians. i dont feel any of them are perfectly in sync with my thoughts and opinions. so i am a straddler in the middle. so i dont feel so strongly about most of it. my one strong feeling is that the u.s. and israel should and must exist. i think the u.s. is a very special nation and so is israel. and much of western europe is wonderful. i fear they will cease to exist because there are so many who want to institute shria law into europe and want to bring down western nations. that is what really scares me. and that i feel strongly about. i have read that sweden and belgium have such trouble with the influx of muslims and the youth are buying into what the imams are saying as to destroying the west and installing shria law. and where does that leave women? well, we certainly dont have rights under shria law. so that scares me.
ty for di. have it.
off to work. bye for now
Great message, mkg. As a 61 yr old woman-I never thought I'd fear this much for women's rights.
It is truly scary.
For women all over the world. Some countries were always terrible and they're not getting better & now it seems to be spreading.
There is much to be frightened of in the world today. There is also much hope. What I fear is that the U.S. is selling out on our traditional values and positions of humanity, morality and strength. My hope is that the world in general will wake up to the threats from radical "religious" groups and wrong-headed politicians and dictators.
Then again, maybe I'm just being "dumb".
Let's all just do our best not to backslide into ignorance and intolerance.
Oh, Judi, if only! Those in charge everywhere seem more interested in continuing in their jobs than the welfare of their constituents.
Not dumb Judi.
Agreed Scrib.
I have worked in a police department for the past 15 years. Believe me, I have seen a steady degradation of society. Children being raised (or ignored) by a parent or parents who have no idea what it means to be a parent. On a daily basis I see complete disrespect for police and others in authority. I see violence in homes and against police officers. There is a segment of society that is disaffected, amoral, drug-addicted, unemployed and yet who still feel entitled to that which they have not worked for. Nor do they ever intend to work for self-preservation or for their children. It saddens and frightens me. It also explains why I am going to buy a gun to protect myself and my home.
Judi, you're just seeing the negatives. It happens in your line of work.
morning all!
Hi Sue
Sure would hate to be feeling that those feelings are the majority of life-at least there are still some good folks--like Babblers!
hi hego!
My point is, there are a lot more negatives than there used to be. There are still many, many positives and for that I am thankful.
hi scribe, and yay for babblers!!
hi, uusue2-welcome to a regular Babbler-
we know we're a good bunch

hello folks
ruby, hellooooo
hello suefrad and everybody
found 76 words (quietly) this morning, but those o's confound me as do most everything else!
made me feel like an id5!
for me it is usually the 'singles' that stump me
Babble blindness is a unique phenomenon
yes-but it amazes me that sometimes I'll type & even though it isn't what I was thinking--it will be a word!
it's like Babble on automatic
hardest for me are always the endless vowels.....
for 5 (or 6) little letters-they are confounding
hi ruby!
{{sue}}
how are you holding up?
ok, ruby. I'm with Frank at the cancer center, he is having his first chemo treatment.
how many sessions will he have?
every week for six months
wow!
traditional chemo is every other week; then every week he also gets a biological treatment (monoclonal antibodies)
my protocol was very quick, very limited and VERY strong
but I was really lucky to have such a garden-variety cancer
they are all different now; his is particular for his type of colon cancer
they started out with an anti-nausea drug before they even started running the chemo
they gave me atavan and I was never sick as long as I didn't drink gin
they added it to the drip
right, that is pretty much what they are doing with him
They added gin to your drip??
no, that's what I do now, IV gin lol
Hee hee. Couldn't resist. That one was too easy.
"easy ruby"
Ruby had party girl chemo : D
hello molly
molly, you make me feel young! thank you
Ruby you are one of the youngest people I know. Chronological years have nothing to do with age. : )
(blushing)
Time for a break. More java is in order. BBL to finish. *POOF*
bye judi!
and hi molly!
for Frank, it's single malt - he had a couple the other night but now it will be a while
he'll miss those wonderful whiskeys!
see you kids after dinner

This is a fun puzzle...I'm sorta new to this
Evening all, back for the last 30

Hi Sue, Jerry
whew. long phone call. work sure gets in the way sometimes.
How are you coping, Sue - and how is Frank doing?
Hi good Enough
Hi G what's the green & red deal by your name?
hello glant
cluefor the io7 please
I am doing ok, glant. Frank is having his first chemo treatment, so far so good.
Jerry, it's my national flag - I live in Wales - and not the one in Wisconsin
Jerry, that's the Welsh flag, since Glantarell is from Wales.
Cool

Hey Good, did I tell you I am no longer Goodenough? Changed my surname back to my family name following my divorce, as a tribut to my dad, who died last year
So what does your new/old name mean? better than good? The best? Clearly excellent?!
I was Goodenough, I am now Wood...
Back in school, the refrain was - well, Adrienne would, wouldn;t she?
Ah simple and sturdy. Here's to dad!
yes, here's to dad.

et7/32 plural of the fundamental character or spirit of a culture; the underlying sentiment that informs the beliefs, customs, or practices of a group or society; dominant assumptions of a people or period OR et + the things one uses to water ones garden....

I have 125, nbt and nbs, and it's very slow going. Have a few more minutes then will run out and try later.

is it the 7/32?
yup
Lovely! I still need a 7, but haven't looked at the list yet to see what I'm looking for. Trying to hold out...
sprite tried to show me, but I've never been able to use a list which is the reason I never finish
I use Expert when I get down to the very end, and that helps....or makes me go crazy, depending on the day! ;)
good night, champ, the quitter is quitting!
good night ruby!
good morning/afternoon, everyone :)

Check the 1st link in my latest update, nan.

Think... a type of arthritis?
I doubt you'd "monkey" it.
But think... rheumat*** arthritis, os*****... etc.
yeah - live with that one! but don't think osteoarthritis is there!
Well no. It can't be that one because that word has too many letters. Ok, then of an aster*** in outer space?
For the ending of the word...

Good Afternoon, Everybody. I just got NBT
hi everyone, clue for the ts6?
well; it isn't the fly, lbd (sorry I don't have it yet
actually it is the fly
Morning all
did I spell it wrong? (I'll try again
...and thanks for the fly!
yup, it was the fly...didn't look up!
I did! Thanks for correcting me, lynxxx! I'd be working on that all evening otherwise. :-)
Our little Watson left today for his surgery in OK. We cried
oooh, how sad, bichon. he'll be okay, will say special prayer for him.
tadone!! finito!!
what surgery Bichon?
congrats Dawg!
I haven't been here much lately; what's the matter with him bichon?
ty, nef for the fly btw.
They're going to try to save his leg. He has a torn Achilles tendon
YAY, lbd!!! WTG!!!
We're very happy for him. He's a great dog who is gong to be adopted by great people
yw, lbd, but that wasn't much of a clue...
pretty amazing medical technology now, i bet he'll be just fine.
ouchy - hope the surgery is successful - though dogs seem to do very well on 3 legs
I think that's gong to be the case lyn. The injury was too long ago for them to be able to perform such a miracle. But, he's a spunky guy.
I hope they can help him; I feel for him. Torn tendons hurt.
Is it his front or back leg, bichon?
I think the injury happened long ago. He was on the streets for a good while. Probably stepped on a piece of glass
His rear leg.
how old is he?
Only three. A little cuddler
You seemed to have given him a chance at a new life...Bless you Bichon
i think we gained as much as we did. He made us very happy. Of course our fluffs didn't think so
The folks at the airport today were over the moon about him
lol - little brats
Everyone wanted to hear his story.
on yr profile you mentioned TV?
will he be returning to your area or staying in OK?
Hmmm, did you wander off, bichon?
or phone
wow - 30 to go and I just see the Q
you can do it, lynxxx! (I've only found 2 Q words so far; but haven't been here that long)
the Q words were not hard to find for me
hi all
hi Peri
hi peri. How are you today?
doing ok, Nef. how are you and DH?
D words are very hard for me to find
and they are making me cross
struggling with the Ds right now also
Stew is 'roaching' - he looks very funny. Roaching, laying on back with all legs sticking straight up into the air. I think it is the way greyhounds cool down - it is quite 'muggy' here
we're hanging in there. Neither of us is thrilled with a slow recovery; but I was told today when I was at my hand therapy I was doing very well for 6 weeks post op; and I keep reminding DH that he's just 3 weeks post op and it takes time to heal.
LOL, lynxxx! I've never heard of that before; but I bet it is funny to see.
it is hard to be patient when one is recovering, Nef.
wow another b ad patch Nef. what happened to your hand?
I know, peri. But HE still thinks he should be able to DO stuff already --and he can't.
he had back surgery, Nef?
I have "basilar joint arthritis" and had to have a bone removed from below my thumb, and they sewed a tendon from my forearm into the empty space.
!!!!!
never heard of that type of arthritis. will have to look that one up
DH had an anterior cervical fusion on Nov. 26th peri
(((((Nef and her DH)))))
I've had some sort of arthritis since I was 18; they never gave it a name, but it isn't rheumatoid or osteo; and as long as I keep going; I'm okay (just need things fixed or replaced now that I'm older I guess)
thanks, peri.
always amazed at your ability to cope with whatever life throws at you Nef.
lynxxx; what choice do I have? I love life; even if it's lumpy at times.
BTW, lynxxx, I love your icon. Did you take that picture or was it done professionally?
I suppose we all cope when we need too...love 'lumpy"
I love "lumpy" too
(I'm assuming your icon is Stew?
No, just a picture from the web....but looks a lot like Stew know that he is older and more grey
know = now
maybe bumpy is a better term?
bbs
It's really cute! :-)
(I wish there was an R or an N in this grid; my monkeys keep finding all sorts of words that don't fit here)

plural of the et5 Bichon
I'm ok Nef, however,I'm dealing with a lot right now.On Monday, I had a flood in my garage from the bathroom. Yesterday I broke down on the parkway in car. Today, I came home only to find out the dog got his Lyme again
That et 7/32 word is plural of that et 5/12 word bichon.
tyvm min

back.
yw bichon
oh, dear, Min. I always think things happen in 3's, though; so maybe your done with the bad stuff for now?
and done...and must run...bye all. Hoping Nef & her DH and Watson all recover and heal quickly and successfully! Bye guys
How did the dog get Lyme disease again?
by lynn
bye lynxxx!
There's a Lyme vaccine
Goodbye lynxxx!I will see you tomorrow in the chat maybe
Not sure if it is Lyme, but he has all the same symptoms.I'm taking to the vet tomorrow just to verify it is Lyme again.
hi again all!
I hope it isn't Lyme
Hi uusue! How are you doing? How is Frank?
Hello uusue2! How are you doing? Welcome to the chat log
Hi nef! Frank had his first chemotherapy treatment today and is doing quite well so far. He is wearing a pump and will get infused gradually over the next two days.
Great sue. Probably wasn't pleasant though.
we were there today for 7 hours; subsequent treatments will be a little shorter.
hi bichon!
I saw on the Caring Bridge site that they gave him Benadryl and he was woozy. Is he still doing okay with the chemo?
We were at the airport seeing off Watson
So many people were interested in him
still slightly woozy, nef, but basically ok.
I am glad that Frank's chemo treatment was okay for him.
What do you have to watch out for?
oh, good, sue. Sending thoughts and prayers for healing his way.
it wasn't nearly as bad as he was afraid it might be, but of course a lot of the effects are cumulative. He will go every week now for 6 months, alternating Erbitux only (1.5 hours) with Erbitux plus Folfiri (about 5 hours, then the pump)
Wow!. That's a lot of hours.
bichon, we have to watch out for lots of things - red flag things are fever and diarrhea; there could also be skin problems (rash), constipation, and a host of other things that I can't remember right now.
either constipation or diarrhea. Great choices
oh, right, nausea, we have medicine for that, and the Erbitux can cause achy bones so we have medicine for that too
When you get done with this, take a nice vacation
no kidding, bichon!!
Os' ostracized! 4 left
Go, go, Min! You can do it!
hello sue, glad to hear first treatment was tolerable. hello all
hi T O

there's a blood te4 that they can do to see if you've had it or not, TO.
Hi stidg
Looking for something bright on this world-class gloomy day and I think you're it, TO.
Hi nef. Glad to see you on the chat.
di5/18 pls
How are you doing, stidge? I haven't been around much lately; I had some hand surgery 6 weeks ago and my thumb/hand still hurts with typing at times. (And I always chat when I'm here)
Not to the dis yet peri. Don't stress yourself Nef. No pain no gain is an outmoded philosophy.
rhymes with the opp of day, peri
I know, stidge. That's why I haven't been here much. :-)

hello Mother and all
It's WET outside!
I took Tom and Grant to the movies, and came home. Lucky is happy I am here, sad that I won't go cavort in the yard with him. LOL
Hi mama. Wet and gloomy enough for you?
sorry, i was wandering. Stidge???
both mama and mere here, TO.
gah. TOO wet and gloomy. Stopped by to see my friend Loren at the college on the way home. By the time I got to his office my raincoat was soaked through.
hey TO!
just wondering about your gloomy comment. hey stiddy!
It's coming down in buckets, and higher up I know it's pure snow, since it's mixed even down by the Sound right now. brrrr
The amount of sunlight hitting the ground for the past month has been minimal TO. There is an actual measurement made of such things and we have been in very low numbers. It's like perpetual evening.
dark and dreary, weak and weary. perfect poe proportions
Makes poe look cheerful.
down under 60...
good babbling weather, though... :-)
63 left and counting.
Oh! Mother -- my friend's brother is in surgery RIGHT NOW -- the first set of lungs weren't viable, but they got some today that should work.
how was the shindig at the marina, anyway?
Oh my. I thought that was completed. The buffet was so cheerful with many men (and a few women) enjoying the company and food. Great place to meet men with boats. Oh, I know one.
rofl... yes, but who would want to meet a man with a boat? *rolls eyes*
Quite right. Men with boats already are married (to their boat.)
*grin*
brb
as long as he left me his credit cards that's ok with me ;D
No place to spend a credit card on the water but with computers, everywhere is a vitual mal.
back... at least it's not horribly windy like it was earlier
We're home for the evening.
I have to get the fellows from the mall, I think I'll look for a new belt while I am there. The ones I have are too big at the moment.
I need new belts, too but mine are just worn out.
I could wait to get a belt and we could go together?
finally got a 7, and down below 40. My eyes are getting tired.
We could go together but not this evening. Would you like to think about doing that tomorrow?
Tomorrow might work, or sometime next week might be better -- after the 26th. Things are rather crazy at the moment.
Okay later if fine with me. Talk to you later or tomorrow. Good by mama and TO and all.
tomorrow, probably. love to all.
36 now. have to get ready to go. water wings, check. snorkel, check. scuba tanks, check. dry suit (not that it'll do me any good), check...
TO, I hope you are staying warm and comfortable this evening. See you again soon! *poof*

Hi people.
hi neil!
needed to list for the last 12, but fireworks!
YAY, LA!!! WTG!!!
I had wandered off; trying to get a Christmas letter off DH's computer and on either the printer or my computer. We emailed the letter to my computer; but the printer won't talk or take info from either computer. I tried a jump drive; but this is a printer that doesn't have a USB port. :-( I quit!
aww. want any clues to make you feel better?
I just now got the io5/14. Thanks (I's are done!)
It's funny, I had the io 6/24 pl of the 5, too.
50 left; I'm going to list just to make something easy today.
Sorry Sue... if you're still here? Was called away.
Hi Nef and LeslieAnn.
And hi Sue, of course. :)
Nef, can you email the letter to a friend who might print it for you?
I was away for a bit as well. Oh well :-)
Congrats, Leslie
and I think with 47 left I am going to go to bed. see you all tomorrow!!
Ann!!!
Sweet dreams, sue.
Molly, I did get it on a jump drive and my friend offered to print it on her printer; but I'm desperate; so that's a good id4/5 too. My other thought was to put part of it on FB; but I don't want the whole world to read it either..
good night, sue!
hi GA. I missed your entry; how are you doing this evening?
Doing much better, Nef. Haven't had a bad sinus problem since Dec. 1st. When I was young, I took good health for granted....not any more. LOL
LOL! I understand too well!
On the 7 words, is there some kind of common ending? I'm having a time trying to get them.
no peach
Thanks, flosey.
one is a pl
oiads
sorry.
not a word; don't worry
3 of the 7's are pt; 2 are pl, GA
Thanks much, Nef.
actually 3 are pl; then 1 has a robot ending and then the last is different from the rest but has a 5 letter word at the end
(how's that for confusing?)
going to relax with coffee before facing the next grid - hope it's no bigger than today's
bfn
good night, flosey. Stay warm and dry!
It's snowing here! I should go get the mail and decide if I should hit up Kinko's (or whatever) to print this letter or not.
17 left; guess I'll finish the grid first! (I love procrastinating when it's chilly outside)
Can I please get a clue for the a in the top row?

Fine Nef...and thanks. NBT finally

As usual, I can't read left...
??? what do you mean?
That di combo goes to the left, I was looking to the right...
(I had to "shoot" my DH --give him his shot for his MS so wasn't very speedy there)
Not a political comment ;)
Okay. Since I'm a lefty; it doesn't seem to bother me.
LOL
How are you nef and how is dh?
We are doing okay; I'm 6weeks out of hand surgery and they told me today that I'm progressing very well (I was getting impatient about slow healing) and DH is 3 weeks out of his surgery and he needs encouragement that he is doing well too
Hi and goodbye Jillyjill! Nice to see you here, albeit briefly
Goodnight to my fellow babblers! I will see you tomorrow.
Thanks Minv...am just trying to get as many as I can, thought I had missed you so thanks!!
Good night Min. I hope to see you tomorrow
That is good to hear nef!
It was hard convincing DH though. He's so impatient.
do you need clues, Jilly?
Kinda a guy thing....
yeah; I guess so
Admitting any nonsuperhuman strength...not in their world!
I'm going to wander off now; if you need clues, this is it.
Well, am bushed, have an early long day tomorrow and am not seeing words. Will have to be satisfied with nbt, nbs, all 7's and 1370 points...niters for me to..bye nef
good night, Jilly

Hi cathy
Hi Jilli! :-)
Long time, cathy... 9sorry, slow here -- had a bit of a snooze, seriously!)
lol...yes it has been awhile since I've played babble...I find I can only make time (and patience) once in awhile...like when I'm on vacation.
There are nothing like powernaps Jilli!
ok, I'm back -- will I make it to the flip?
hope so jilli! I'm going to try.
Just going to check dishwasher...brb
It's not ready for emptying yet :-( It's too early for me to go to bed although I'd like to -- only 9:47 pm here.
oh dear...I'm a naughty one...1:47 a.m. here...another reason why I don't play babble too often...the flip is too late for me. lol Hope you're doing well sweet jilli!
I used to be up at that hour all the time but this is an early-riser town and I've been tryng to adapt.
I'm doing fine, cathy -- you too, I hope.
pretty well, Jilli, thanks.

Unimaginable, Cathy!
