I could never remember if his birthday was the 221st or 22nd. so I lit the candle when it was still light yesterday and it burns brightly
he lived to be 93, going strong 'til the end when he fell

yes, London was lovely and it was nice to be with family. My dad died in 2001, in April, before the catastrophe. My mother died in '95 and is sorely missed, every day
her birthday was the 27th
That's awesome - 93! My dad died almost 3 years ago - 85 - but sadly had been ill for a long time - alzheimer related but not alzheimers. My mum died in 1988 - just a couple of years older than I am now.
since I can't get yahrzeit candles here, or be buried in the local cemetery!!!, my DIL brings them from California when she visits
I also miss both my parents. Was lucky to have a very close relationship with both of them!

Can you believe I just ordered and received 5 boxes of chanukah candles from Sydney - the ones I could get here were pathetic!

my husband grew up in an anti-religious ('tho Jewish) family and knows nothing about any of it
Dad saw a video of my wedding - in 2010 - I think he got some enjoyment from it.
My husband's not religious - I'm more than him but we've reached a good compromise.

my daughter has been recovering from ACL surgery this week and last night was the first in a week that I was able to sleep thru the night. Ahhhh.

first snow this year was about a month ago here. Now everything is gone, just lots and lots of rain. No white Xmas, I bet.

my sister's in Wisconsin, dealing with her son being locked up for observation (suicidal) the other day, court hearing was yesterday, they had to postpone it till late in the day to wait for the roads to be clear enough. Some Christmas. :(
feel sorry for her, but I'm pretty cheery here myself as our nutty son has finally been acting almost human after years of similar stuff.

the truth is always best, I think. Just you being there for her, to listen, is probably the best you can do for her. Tough shit to go through for her and her son, and since you've been there, you can certainly relate.
hard for me, she's one of those who calls and calls a dozen times a day, usually I ignore over half the calls, but feel obligated to take them now, sigh. she's a natterer. on and on about mostly meaningless stuff.

Anyway, it was not good and this owner of the page sent me a message calling me a stupid cu4. Then he deleted the message. I have a copy....scary people. Then, the bashing began.....Seems everyone there thinks I am a nut case.

I also bought my brother a megaphone because he is the captain of a cr 4/9 sp 5/12s team. I bought my Dad a gift certificate to a garden store so that he can plant his cr 5/14 in the Spring. I got my niece a pet fe 6/27. I also got my Mom a subscription to The New York Times Newspa5/14. She would rather read the news than watch news re 6/21rs. I got my grandfather a pi 4/6 to smoke. I got my sister-in-law a to5/22 necklace. Being the good wi4/11 that I am, I got my husband a gift certificate to amaz4/9.com since that is his favorite website. What I spent on others sp 4/5ned from fifty dollars to a hundred dollars. I have incu4/6ed a big debt with my shopping that has put me in the po 4/5 house, but I love buying for other people. I know my husband will have a sp 4/10 and cu 5/14 me out when he sees my credit card bill. I'm not feeling pe 4/5 enough to stay and clue since I am tired.I am going to be a na6/24 & take a little snooze. When I wake up I will return pr6/21 and help give clues.By the way, none of this story is tr4/5.I will be back later on this evening.
