I am fine. We celebrated my youngest grandson's first b-day today and it was a lot of fun.
exactly, nonnie -- I love teaching, but prefer the assignments when I can tell the kids the teacher is at a meeting or visiting a new grandbaby!
what a nice event to celebrate! I hope they are all doing well. That first year for me as a mom was so fraught with "issues" -- for both of my kids, since they were so different, none of the milestones or illnesses happened exactly the same way or time!
Do you find the kids are better behaved when it is a planned absence...or does not really make a difference?
yes, a planned absence automatically helps them calm down, though I never lie to the kids. But they are often so anxious, in the low-income rural communities I usually teach in, that anything unplanned feels like another danger to them.
The kids in the more affluent schools take a teacher being sick with a lot more flexibility.
At this point, I have been in many of the classrooms often enough that the kids already know me a little and that alone is helpful.
That is what she is finding, stid. Her two little guys are exact opposites and then her youngest is a few health issues that she is dealing with. Nothing major but on top of dealing with single parenthood (her husband decided six months ago that he wasn't happy) it has been a tough year. Because of that tho, she is learning that she is a lot stronger than she ever knew.
oh, I am sorry to learn she is dealing with so much, nonnie! But I am glad she is finding that strength. Would it be okay to put her on my list of people I hold in the light?

we are both doing pretty well, crossy, Frank is really getting his appetite back
how often is he to get chemo?
he gets the biological every week, then chemo with it every other week
this goes on for 6 months
so he's had one chemo and two bio treatments so far
thats good then,breaking it up a bit so it is not a constant barrage
what is a biological?
right, and no bad side effects so far although he is starting to get quite itchy
monoclonal antibodies, lynxxx, the one he is getting is called Erbitux, it attacks particular gene expressions from the cancer cells
do you remember zinc-o-fax the soft baby bum cream? not the penatin,it is too firm,but the zincofax is a nice soothing cream
it comes in IV just like the chemo but because it's more precisely tuned to his cancer, has fewer side effects, mostly a skin rash

has zinc oxide and sooths itch without side effects
they also give him things to counteract side effects - antibiotics, antinausea meds
or hydrocortizone cream,but cannot use too much of that
unfortunately it is under his (rather impressively large) mustache, which makes putting cream on it a bit awkward

there is one they recommended, which we got, but I forget its name
pretty much, crossy, he waxes it when he goes out

There are many reasons why I would not do this. First, I couldn't sp6/24 around in the ocean with other nu7/36 Also my hi 4/6 are too wide and I am not th 4/5 enough for people to see me naked. My dtr did learn how to clean and has kept her place in order for long periods of time. That's how we got our first dog: she had to prove she was responsible enough to care for an animal so she needed to keep her room clean for 2 months.
