good night Dee, sweet sleep
ty flosey, you, too
I haven't been there for a long time... started playing Word Battle .. can play through FB or on my ipad
can play for fun or in quick tournaments
3 minute grids...either 4X4 or 5X5....kind of reminds me of TW's
you'll have to check it out... 4 rounds per game
I'll have to try it again; the site kept crashing when I first tried it there
ill look for it
ttfn (*poof_
but you have to type...not hard for you...but harder for me because i moused in TW
nite volley
just popped in again before bed to see if flosey got here -- I see she did -- hi flosey!
here now jilli
have you seen the results?
how was bridge? I wnet to the movies to see "lincoln"
oh, we went yesterday, how did you like it?
are the results up already?
results are on the blog, jill
I tried to go yesterday at 3 -- couldn't get in. Wonderful acting.
oh, ok, thanks.
there was a lineup back to the front door when we got there - around 2:30, we were in second from back row
I got there about 10 minutes after you -- people were pouring out of the place -- lots couldn't get in.
have have to be held over
I saw the brdige blog just now -- so Zelly and Ian returned!
yes, glad they came back
Well well well.
Anyway, glad to see you're okay -- hadn't seen you here for a wile and wondered.
whoot, monkeyed my last sh5....hello lovely peeps
missed one grid, and did one early next day
hi rose
*while hi granny -- I'm on my way to bed
lol, will be right over to tuck you in, hun
good night jill
haha, granny -- have a good evening...*poof
thanx my dear. sleep well
flosey, have just seen 'the hobbit' today....in 3D yet....it was amazing.
I don't get to many movies rose, has to be something really special to get hubby to go
even then, he's just going to please me
lol, swap with you. my hubby is an absolute movie addict. he has a very eclectic taste in movies.
doesn't watch much tv either - usually only sports
interesting rose
*groan* hubby would have the TV on 24/7 if i let him. but he is so scottish in his outlook, he resents having to pay for the power to do so.
oh, hubby wont have one in the living room - it's in the family room
some of his dvd collection go back to silent movies. and there are a lot of black-and-whites also.
so if I want to watch it, it doesn't interfere with whatever he's doing
try living here...there is a TV in every ro4, except the inside-outhouse. i drew the line at that one. *grin*
sometimes he dozes off in his easy chair, in front of the fire listening to relaxing music
hahaha
but I think we're much older
the old tv is in the bedroom - doesn't get much use tho
not going there, flosey. besides age is relevant...to how you feel.
to renew drivers license, we have to pass a medical when we reach 80 - and then every year thereafter
morning :)
hello Sarah
hey sarah....lovely to see you
hi flosey hope you are well
yes, thanks sarah, how are you doing re smoking?
hi rose me not happy bunny today dame school again with amie :(
how was georgina's birthday?
3 weeks not smokeing and lost 7 lb to go me lol
WOW, CONGRATULATIONS
she had a fab day bless her
good grief, not again, sarah?
YAY SARAH!~!!! you rock, girl
yeah me not happy and i did just let them know on phone just how cross i am
Greetings, lovely people. Sarah, congratulations on the weight loss --- I'm still working on it.
ty xx
hey christine, how goes it, hun?
i am useing myfitnesspal.com you put everything in you eat and tell you what you have left to use :)
I'm turning into an owl - sleep all day, up all night.
sarah, you tell 'em, girl. this is not good enough.
awww christine. am sorry you are going through this. been there, done that, got the t-shirt.
i just texted mum to let her know am sick of it now rose i do not need this and poor amie do not need this every day she goes to school x
It's my own fault: I read in bed, and suddenly, it's 5am, and I'm sleepy. Dhouldn't take a book to bed, but there's not been a good offer for an alternative, for way too long.
*Shouldn't
poor amie...please tell her to be strong...she will beat this....
Darn, I keep trying mulish
lol, christine, i hear you sister, i hear you.
had tears this morning not wanting to go to school make me so sad rose
I tried it too Christine
Anything against our babies is the worst. There's nothing we won't do for our children. Go Sarah, and tell them you have back-up, in Oz and US.
i only found one 7-letter word
aww sarah, [[[amie}}}
Oh, pierrot, that's just one more than I found.
i want to go to bed, but now i have a challenge. i keep telling myself one more word, then another, then another...
7's are am, fa, ha, mu, re, sh, ur
Another reason I'm up, all night -- just one more word. Especially if the stats shows only one or two from that tile.
pierrot, it's very addictive when you start this game. The good thing is that there are 20 hours until the grid changes so you CAN go to bed.
*giggle* christine...exactly
hey haz
Hello, grannyrose and everyone.
Hi Haz, time for me to get to bed, goodnight all, 67 words to go - probably get them tomorrow
But then, Haz, you lie in bed, thinking of the grid, sure there's that one word waiting to be entered. So, you make a pot of te, to keep you company, and there goes another two hours. Time to read another chapter, find another word ... thank the Lord I'm retired. I'm sure I couldn't have handled having a computer at home, if I had to go to work, each morning.
Sleep well, flosey.
Goodnight, Flosey. Sleep well.
night flosey, rest and sleep well, hun
Maybe it's because I start the grid in the morning rather than the evening; there's no conflict between sleeping and word searching.
Yay! 65 hours without electricity was certainly long enough for me! Really have sympathy for those on the East Coast of America after the hurricane! At least it's warm here!
Sometimes I do that, if I'm deep into my book and don't notice the time. Then I copy the grid, and peck at it through the day, while I'm doing other things. Problem is, on those days, I forget to sign on in time to enter my wordlist. Some of us have a very hard life !!
Oh Lizlin - did you forget to pay the electricity bill?
LOL! No! This was an aftereffect of Cyclone Oswald, which ravaged QLD and Northern New South Wales!
Poor you. Worse than me forgetting to enter my wordlist.
Possibly Christine but things are important depending on the circumstances!!!!!
liz....you're okay!!! good news.
Iremember when I lived in UK, there was a meter in the cubby under the stairs (the gloryhole), and we had to put in shillings to keep the electricity going. What a pain in the neck, but I guess the Elec.Company didn't have deadbeats using the electricity, then doing a bunk in the night.
It's not been particularly pleasant Rose - the paddock behind and below our house was flooded and we drove back from a wedding in revolting conditions on Sunday. But we used our barbie for cooking and put our meat in a friend's freezer. BTW Rose, I'm now an Aussie!
I remember those meters, Christine!
When did you get your citizenship, Lizlin?
yay, liz...welcome to ozland, hun. and yay for the bbq.
Saturday night! Lucky really as the place was flooded out and inaccessible on Sunday!
ty Rose!
We got power back about 30 mins ago!
And it's taken you this long to get back to babble?
I question your loyalty to the game.
Reset clocks first and loaded the dishwasher! Fed up of washing up!
lol, haz....some things do have a priorty over babble.
Got here pretty quickly though Haz!!!
Three days without power? Thank the Lord for accomodating neighbours
Still, half an hour. Some people could have the grid finished in that time....
Very true Christine :)
LOL Haz - not me. Actually the frustrating thing was that on Sunday, just before the power went out, I got the 12 letter word in the grid as my first word! Probably the one and only time I'll ever do that! Then i couldn't complete the grid!!!
I'll try and do better if we lose power again!
welcome back liz!!! :)
ty demi - better than tomorrow night, which is what the last recorded message said!
That would be really frustrating, Liz. Still, you're back now and hopefully you'll get this one finished.
good morning, friends
You could've run over to the neighbour, with your laptop, and used her power .. husband could carry the foodstuffs.
we get frequent short power outages here, nothing to do with weather, but every time, everything has to be re-set
None of the neighbours had power but our friend lives 15 mins drive away - they were at work though and we only had access to the garage!!!
our fridge is moribund although the technician is coming for one more try at fixing it. We had o buy a little freezer for the garage and a little fridge for the pantry
{Ruby} hope you're well :)
juggling these knives, hatchets and flaming batons gets tiresome!
As long as everyone is safe, that's the important thing --- raises eyes to Heaven, with a sanctimonious sigh.
I'll do my best Haz :)
I was here when you got the 12, lizlon, and then you disappeared!
{{{ruby}}}
Some people died in the cyclone - a 3 yr old was hit by a falling tree in Brisbane - but other people, as always, didn't leave their houses when told to and so the rescue services were stretched as usual!
{{rose}}
250000 houses without power Yesterday, 20000 today and we were in the last 20000!
I found another article onTamania (it's evidently quite the place) and it will be waiting for you when you get home
Sorry didn't get a chance to say "bye" Ruby!
tas*
Rose - when's your holiday?
Yeah, in context a little spoiled food and an unfinished grid really don't matter
Very true!
Hey Liz...which part of Qld?
Gold Coast
hope all is safe...xxx
hello everybody I missed
jumping in with a few "stolen" moments
Thanks Diz - we're fine, as are the people we know. Just got power back after 65 hours!
Liz, oh ferk....have friends in Gladstone and Bundy who are still waiting for power
liz, leaving on thursday...of course the weather has turned cool, so mt. wellington will be under cloud the 4 days we are in hobart....story of my life.
Poor people - saw pictures just before I came to babble - I hope they're safe, Diz and get power soon. 65 hours was long enough!
Perhaps it'll clear by Thursday, Rose.
Hope so :)
my sister sent me the article about the people who died in Sandy and many of them were electrocuted from the downed power lines -- horrible
or drowned in their own houses
Time to go - BBL power permitting!
bye liz
liz...i am not concerned, really. when i think of what my fellow australians are currently going through, my problems are negligible.
Enjoy Rose - if I don't catch you before! Bye :)
thanx liz. cyl8r
ugh, cul8r
Rose....enjoy your trip. xoxo
thanx diz...see you when i get home.
we will expect pics in 'Babble Community'
okay. will do....with a little help from DH.
we can live vicariously through yur trip
half, yay
yay ruby. nice job.
see you later, kids
(no big words yet, so I've something to look forward too lol)
have a good one, ruby. loves ya, hun
And I must head off as well, bye for now.
*woof*
and night to haz, as well
okay, nothing in chog for 7 minutes. night to all, and happy babbling.
I'm back with my cuppa - goodnight to all that are leaving.
May I please have a clue for any ur? Thanks
ur 4/5 - kettle
UR6, 7 to do with the planet, I think. UR4 a funereal vase, and UR4 a bear
ri
Hello
Thanks for the clues....I have the funeral vase and am looking for the others.
Hi there Babble
Rabble.
Delayed action ??
Well, I guess it was, at that Christine
good morning all :)
Hey there sprite.
hi peach :)
hi Sprite Peach
hi lyn :) xxx
Hi lynxxx.
huh? who knew....the mail equivilant of mermaid is a word
I love it when I remember an odd one - they don't come easy for me
sure. How'd you wanna talk about them otherwise :)
fishy boys?
lol
TY Wurdy
*sings: words... don't come easy... to me...How can I find... a way... for me to say... I love you... words don't come easy...*
lol wurdy
my kids have their second snow day in a row today. *sigh* I love a good snow day, but they are getting on my nerves
oh and they get so hyper from snow. Poor you.
and there is no snow! or ice! I have no idea why no school
They are teens, they have no hyper. I wish they would just do something other than stare at a screen
awwww... can't you give them some tasks? Or send them to buy clothes?
tasks? LMAO Oh that is funny. I made them stop yesterday and do an hour of chores. You would have thought I asked my son to cut off his right arm.
and I will not reward badittude (my own word) with shopping. I don't even get to go shopping LOL
yeah, they do protest. But at least they are away from the screen for an hour :) Let them do the grocery shopping and reward them with a goodie of their own choosing?
hubs does grocery shopping. I might let them make dinner, although that is a struggle too. But hey, I have nothing else to do today, so bring it kids. Momma's got some coffee and ready for battle!
Must head for pillows.....6:15 AM here.....have a good day/night....see y'all later.
sorry, chog froze on me. Back now.
hey guys, long time no see
not sure if anyone here might remember me
hello Rows
it's probably been a few years lol
i think i remember you sprite
drats... not only chog froze, my words haven't been added either.
I am sort of furniture here, grin. Not sure I remember you... although the spelliing of your name seems to ring a bell.
i'm glad this place is still around :)
i am elsh's sister, if you remember her
i'm American but i live in China now
yes, I do remember elsh. Haven't seen her in ages though. Wow, China. Interesting, I think?
haha yes
interesting is the perfect word for China
thought it might be :)
i do like it here though
can't get a much more different culture, I think.
you'd be surprised
actually i've been told China is more American and Japan is more British
so i'm curious to go to Japan and find out
when I studied japanese, they told me the only culture further from the dutch one was the chinese one.
haha
i could see that potentially being true, though i don't know Dutch culture that well
do you have plans to go to Japan soon?
no
but i work here, so i't's not the easiest thing to just up and go places
aw too bad. I hope you will get the chance.
however, the nice thing is, if i live here long enough i will get to see just about all of Asia
next week i'm going to Hong Kong and Macau, and then in March i'm going on a weekend trip to Kuala Lumpur
wow sounds awesome!
so i'm looking forward to all of those, haven't explored any of those places yet
it'll be Chinese New Year next week :)
i get 2 weeks off work
oh nice :)
Hello again. Being distracted. Hi Rows, I think I remember you too
i remember your name, lynxxx
wb lyn :)
:)
lucky you being in australia this time of year, eh? i was about to comment on how it must be freezing in the Netherlands now
just started to thaw again here. We had some serious freezing, but it was kinda nice. It is a healthy cold, better than rain and mist.
hot, cyclones, floods, bushfires ...and its actually cold down in Melbourne at the moment - just went and found a cardigan
yeah it's better than the cold here that traps all the pollution in a cloud over our city, i'm sure
ha, wow
crazy
you are having crazy weather, lyn
Shanghai - that name still has romantic associations. Good to work there Rows?
it's been so long since i played this game, that i don't actually think i have the software for it anymore :(
it's good to work here at least in my field
i'm a teacher
it's kinda the polar opposite of working as a teacher in the USA
what subject/s?
just the website will do, Rows, unless you want to use the Babble Expert. But otherwise you don't need any extra software.
yeah i used to have Babble Expert
lemme double check my computer and do a search
i teach English as a Foreign Language and kindergarten
Rows, you can download the latest version here: http://tinyurl.com/asayuk8
oh thanks :)
once my computer finishes its search i'll probably go download that
np :)
so far the closest thing it has found is a song by Frou Frou called Psychobabble
lol
lol
close, but no cigar
ugh i keep seeing urinal!
not an uplifting sight
lol
ok downloading
fast and sweet
got it :)
yay now i'm on expert
how do you say "thank you" in dutch?
good :) Much easier to avoid posting words.
dank u
dank je wel
hello BabbleRabble, good to see you
hi BabRab
hehe dank je wel
normally i'd say xie xie
and you are going to have a king Sprite
yes, dank u is good too, it is more formal. You'd say 'dank u' or 'dankuwel' to elder persons or persons higher in status/rank. And 'dankjewel' to equals.
so we are, lyn, so we are... sigh...
lol - why the sigh - you don't need any royalty or is he a dud?
I need help with a d in the upper corner.... I have 4/6 4/6 6/24 4/5 4/5 5/12
he's a dud. I don't mind royalty much. Especially not the Dutch royalty. But the guy is not what I call royal material ;)
lol i'm just forgetting how to use Babble Expert
I think da5/14, wurdy... sounds more or less like a sneeze
i'm trying entering my words over in the left column thingy but it doesn't seem to add them in the middle one when i do, and vice versa
Hi all :)
You need to open Lickety Add - see up the top
Hi Liz! drowning yet?
Rows, at the top is a button that says: Lickety Add. When you click that, you will get a little window that you can move to a convenient place, and you enter words and chat into that window.
haha thanks
hi Liz!
Thanks Sprite, now I know what I am looking for. I hate being one away from blacking a box
Almost Lyn - lots written in chog about 2 hours ago. Were without power for 65 hours!
Hi Sprite :)
omg that is long
oh dear I'll look back -
uh oh, i just remembered i brought back gluten free brownie mix with me to China from the US, last time i visited
i should make them... but i'm too lazy lol
it was a real relief, when we got power back but it was and still is a lot worse in some other places in QLD and Northern NSW! But I guess, we're luckier than those who experienced Sandy - at least we were warm!
does anyone know if there is a babble app for the ipad?
I am glad your houise is safe Liz - sounds as though it was pretty close.
Yes it works well on iPad - but not a special app. Just go to play babble.com.
no, there isn't, wurdy. Nothing for ipad or apple.
haha i think the last time i was on babble, there was no such thing as the ipad
booooooo
Lickety doesn't do apple Wurdy
the guy who made the expert is not working on apples and doesn't know the language.
Are Lickety and Dr. God the same people? I thought Lickety was in Australia
True Lyn - but as I said, it's worse in other places, so although I whinged a lot, we got off lightly compared to some.
whinged like a true Aussie -well done!
no, Dr. God is the owner of Babble. Lickety is the ex-husband of a babble player who invented the Expert for us.
Sorry wurde, I guess I came in part way through a conversation and don't really know what you were looking for!
np Liz. I just wanted to be able to play on my ipad instead of laptop. No big.
I do play on my iPad - every day! And I can copy words into lickety!
You open in safari?
Yes!
good to know.
thanks
i'm a fan of the word in here that is the male fishy friend
I'm playing in safari now on my iMac
I know Rows! I couldn't help but think of spongebob when I found that word.
just of the word, I take it. I mean, come one... what to do with a guy who is fish from the waist down?
hehe
lol
true enough spirte
I am killing time because I don't want to write my fundraising letters begging golf companies for promo items
:)
sprite*
i am... staying home ill on a night i'd rather be out swing dancing :/
7 left, pfffft
not too ill, just don't want to get worse
aw Rows :(
i have to work tomorrow & the next day
I always wanted to learn to swing, hubs not into it
swing DANCE! That sounded bad!
so a sore throat and runny nose is all my body is allowed to do
nothing more
go without him then!
whoa! just back in and I see we're swinging! ;)
lolol
lol, my bad
you don't need a partner... it's social dancing
swinging and with hubby not wanting to. Wurdy is a wild one ;)
I am so uncoordinated, its amazing I can even drive.
you think you're uncoordinated because society tells you you are...
I guess he doesn't like my taste in partners *snork*
we're all born with natural rhythm inside us
help with the bottom row e please?
:)
*grins*
Well, when I can't even complete one zumba move after a year, that will kinda tell ya something too
Champ, the babblet for lower and higher school
do you need all of them Champ?
zumba isn't a real dance :P
el4.5 Champ
nvm...got it.
ty!
i avoid zumba like the plague! Also uncoordinated but my hubby's great and leads so well when we dance!
only one E on bottom row, luckily
besides, i've been teaching swing dancing to beginners for several years now and have never seen someone who can't do the basic footwork
might not be, Rows, but still involves coordination
it's ridiculously simple
:)
I keep wishing I could get him to learn with me. Instead we are on a bowling league. Sexy, I know
hubby and older daughter had waltz lessons on Sunday, for her Senior Presentation. He didn't want to go, but had a great time.
aw sweet
bowling is fun though
but that, i suck at
and with the bear I conclude this grid. Fireflies!
me too. staying in one lane..not so easy
congrats :)
Bowling I give myself permission to suck at. If I didn't I would be too competitive and not have any fun. We have been bowling for 3 years and my average is 94. I have perhaps too much fun?
wtg Sprite!
Congrats Sprite!
Yay Sprite!
Congrats sprite :)
does anyone want a clue before I go?
well you're allowed to suck at dancing too
i mean everyone starts somewhere
I need something for the second o on the top row please.
you start learning, practice, and get better without even noticing it
I think I might push for that. He owes me. I raise his children. LOL
oo5/10 should work
oh wait, second o
hell yes you should
or4/5
got one...thanks!
taking a break. bbl
ok :) yvw. I am off, bye all, thanks for the fun and company.
Bye sprite - enjoy your day :)
bye Sprite
bye sprite! :)
yay my favorite animal is in this puzzle
the rabbits?
male sheep?
no, the mollusk
donkey?
:)
ty - missed that one!
lol yw
aahhh TY too
haha
yesss, spreading the mollusk love
not too sure about that - sn**** and slugs - not my favorite creatures
Def not mine!
slugs, not cute
sn***, yes, very cute
I'll take the panda from a couple of days ago over molluscs any time!
eh, Pandas are too dumb
why? though their shells are exquisite
Mollusks.... good eating right there! :)
they eat food that isn't even easy to get, and they have to be coerced into mating
snuggly - if you don't mind bamboo breath and claws!!!!!
https://www.google.com/search?q=snails\n&hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=qoB&tbo=u&r\nls=org.mozilla:es-AR:official&tbm=isch\n&source=univ&sa=X&ei=rcIHUaH2DMmH4ATWq\noHwCA&ved=0CD8QsAQ&biw=1280&bih=634
look at that and tell me you don't see any hint of cuteness anywhere
just because they aren't stereotypically cute, doesn't mean they're not cute :P
time for a new icon
hmm i tried to upload a new icon
but it doesn't appear to be working
when I change mine it takes at least a day to show even if I refrfesh lots
oh
that's not how it used to be...

Oh, and just so ya know, my panda is very wise :)
I wondered if you'd see that!
lol has he learned to eat something other than bamboo?
Oh, an owl masquerading as a panda.
:) it was at the very bottom, but yeah, I saw it
i see a tasty chocolate cookie with cream filling
silly babble not accepting it as a word
I know, right?
i also see smore
now i'm getting hungry
alas, doesn't accep smores either :(
*accept
You'll have to click on my icon to see why I said my panda was wise.
oreo: other real estate owned

Enjoy your days or evenings. Back tomorrow :)\
<---prefers the cookies
bye Liz
Bye Lizlin, enjoy your evening dear :)

not seeing a ha7...
a gray, toxic metallic element with a high melting point (over 2000°C), found in most zirconium minerals.
gotta get daughter to school...be back soon
yeah, i teach English as a Foreign Language and kindergarten...
i don't think i ever had to learn about this toxic metallic element in my schooling
anyway, i think i'm gonna take a break for a bit and come back to it when my eyes are fresh
thnx BR - had to google that one
i'll watch an episode of Peep Show and come back
good morning all
82 left, off to clean house and work at the church. See you later!
Bye, Rows & Kyleteresa.

whoooo hoooo MIXI!!
Congratulations, Mixi
Very little ... but coming down now.
we've been in a winter advisory since sunday. but nothing much has happened.
Freeze and thaw ... driving is treacherous
hello babblers
Hi Owl :)
((TO)) good morning
yup, here too. street in front of my house is ice...can't see the pavement. 1/2 mile it turns to slush then glared ice.
hi TO
hi annie. ((mom)) hi dawg
mom are you near lexington?
65 or so miles north
are you going to Lexington?
oh, ok. i met a young rising singer songwriter from there last week.
it is a lovely area, lots of horse farms
wanted to say hello but my babbling is done for the morning.
so glad you stopped in, I wish you a great day
same to you, thank you!
thanks
I am about finished here also, going to mom and dad's today
i think i owe you a correspondence. BTW the songwriter is andrea davison
enjoy the day and happy babbling all
when you have time, TO
you too, Owl
I really wish mermaid was in the grid. Then at least my efforts would be rewarded. :0
i would have time if i could ever get organized. i need ot hire an organizer. i am only seeing my space one way and i KNOW i have more than enough space but it does not woek
:-) It is tough to do that.
maybe a friend could come over and would see things differently
i would be embarrassed. anyone who would understand would be similarly challenged
I completely understand that
but i do know an organizer throughmy social group.
there you go, might be worth it
and once things are under control i want to put organizers in my closet.
those are really neat, I have seen some in different stores
she is just a really fun person, too
then that would make short order of the work to be done.
LOLl she is also very short. shorter than I:)
I hate to run but I need to get in gear and get out. ((Hugs)) to all of you and make it a great day
I never thought of you being short.
How tall are you?
bye ((Mom)) have a great day
((Annie)) I will you as well
hey guys
i'm back for a bit
hello Rows
but i am. i am struggling to hold onto 5.5 feet
heck, I am shorter than you are. :0) I am 5.3
mom: 5.5 feet, not 5ft f in!
you have me beeat by 1.5 in
i'm feeling short now haha
oh, I get it, I am slow today
:) more coffee?
I was thinking 5' 5" ..... duh
oh no coffee for me thanks
okey dokey, bye all *poof*
Then you are not short, you are petite
and I too am off
uh oh
am i left by myself?
If you are tall enough to reach the floor, you are tall enough.
oh there's babrab
words of wisdom
hehe good
where are you guys from?
Im from Brooklyn, NY
ah, i still haven't visited Brooklyn
rows, where are you?
I am from North Dakota
i live in Shanghai
originally from California
and am i the youngest one here?
i'm 29
Hi, Rows! Yes, you are just a "baby Babbler."
Okay, daughter safely at school, time to Babble :)
haha okay :)
hello to you all, any chance of a clue for the 8s or the 9 please
i'm 63, but sometimes 6.
{Mimi} top 'o the mornin' to ya
{{smores}}
feels a bit funny to be younger than everyone, as usually i'm the older/oldest in my groups of friends
ma8, a sailing term.
as expats in Shanghai go, though, the people around my age are generally younger than me
Back again from shoveling
all 8's and 9 are combo words.
the others ( 8/9 combos) compound words jenny both end with the bottom row
Age is mind over matter...if you don't mind, it doesn't matter.
((car))
yeah, true enough
{{mimi}}
lol..one of my fav. saying Mimi
though i do find there to be consistent differences between myself and people who are five years younger than me or so
the 20s are really quite the time for maturing it seems
Some of us are wise beyond our years and others couldn't be wise if you smacked 'em repeatedly with a philosophy book no matter how old they are!
agreed Rows
I don't mind at all if you are old!!! :p
car. How is Dylan?
teehee
Much better! Off to school!
:)
Yes, car, how was his 1st day back?
good
The thing about your 20's is that you believe you already know everything....what a shock to get older and realize it isn't so!
hehe yep
TY Annie, and everyone, for asking and sending prayers and good wishes. {[hugs}}
it's definitely humbling
At age 61 not only do I not have all the answers, I'm not even sure I understand most of the questions anymore!
My cranberry orange muffin was over too soon this morning. :(
Happy for you, car.
I realized I didn't know everything when I was about 18, just didn't give a crap until I was about 30
Not about the muffin!
LOL, smores.
haha smores i think i've gone through a bit of that as well
:)
Fortunately, I have mellowed considerably
I don't believe it for a second, smores!
though i think as time goes on i just realize there's certain things i'm not meant to really know a lot about, and certain things i do need to focus on learning and figuring out
Not just fortunate for me, but mainly those who have to put up with me..lol
hi all, good morning
So true Rows
i mean, i don't even know where i'm going to be living a year from now and that's okay
Good morning mael!
Hiya mael :)
I tell people if they need a little information to come to me since I have as little as anyone.
I have a busy week ahead looking for work and dealing with issues....send good vibes, please.
as long as i have figured out how to take care of myself in the meantime
hi mael
:)
Always Mimi :)
Hi, mael. And, morning, Annie!
>>>>>>sending good vibes to Mimi>>>>>>
Also, hi BR!!
I will send good vibes your way, Mimi!
I'll send all the good vibes too, my week's looking nuts as well
Thank you, car!!
Nice BR, I little it
but at least no travel until next week!
Vibes for Mael as well!
Thanks, mael....right back at 'ya.
where are you travelling?
atlanta, for business
just a couple of days, but I'd much rather be home instead :)
ah, that's cool though
i've never been to Atlanta
I used to live in Atlanta, mael. My best friend of 43 years is there....so is my car....long story.
and you're lucky you get to travel for business... i *move* for business, not travel
haha, better in the winter than in the summer, it's brutal down there
kinda wish it were different although at least i still do get to see more of the world with my job than some might
I used to sing in the original "underground" in the clubs there....it was wonderful.
Where did you move from Rows?
California
ouch, rows, I don't know if I could move elsewhere. But at the same time sometimes I wonder if I miss out, you know what I mean?
i've been to a lot of places in the US but not Atlanta
How long have you been in China?
living in a foreign country as an expat is an experience unlike anything else you can do, really, and i think it's definitely worth it
almost a year and a half
Rows, I lived in the LA area for 7 years before marrying and moving here to Phoenix....loved it and still miss it. Where were you?
San Francisco
that sounds awesome, actually. I've been in the US seven and I still feel like I'm a traveler, some days :)
where are you from, Mael?
Wait! I hang with CAptain Morgan a lot...does that make me a rum he4/6?
Italy, moved here for college and stayed
My favorite place!! I actually have a picture of The Golden Gate Bridge hanging in my dining room! Did you ever get to Carmel/Monterrey?
yeah i actually grew up in San Luis Obispo, which isn't far from Carmel
potentially, car ;)
:) car...
and I've loved San Francisco the times I've visited, it's an awesome city
that's awesome Mael
Prefer the term rum wench anyway!
that's awesome Mael i would love to visit Italy
It is more piratey!
Beautiful there. I used to go to Big Sur and dine at Nepenthe...combo art gallery, restaurant.
LOL...
Vietnam was a bit of culture shock .... people I did not know were trying to make my life difficult.
ah, haven't been there. i just miss the wine
in China it isn't easy to find good wine, or if you can find decent wine it's expensive
Eek not good BR
Wow, mael. I have always wanted to take a culinary tour of Italy. Somehow I feel most of us are Italian in our hearts....and stomachs!
Italy's great, just not someplace you'd like to live in long term. Lots of issues with jobs and politicians these days (sorta like everywhere, but you know)
haha BabRab that's kinda what China feels like at first i think... it's quite hard when you can't speak their language as well
the food is ridiculous and the thing I miss the most
oh :/ well i'd still love to visit Italy sometime
I try to cook as often as I can, but I just can't find ingredients as fresh as those I can get at home
<---- fuels up Babble Air jet to head to Italy....
oh man, i can't even imagine
Sounds like here in Arizona....political hell.
American food... i can find it easily enough in Shanghai
and i like Chinese food anyway
visiting is awesome! it's beautiful and the food is delicious and we're actually all pretty nice to tourists. :)
:) Chinese and Italian are my fav foods
mimi, i heard that some arizona lawmakers were proposing not to let atheists graduate HS. i'm not a fan of atheists, but yowza.
smores have you tried authentic Chinese food?
Just curious, Rose .... you ever rows the boat ashore?
What?!? wow, that is crazy
Hi Hurshy!
:P
Oh, yeah...it's the wild west here. I think it's a prerequisite for politicians to be insane...or at least incompetent.
Ouch BR.
I hadn
Yes, Rows, there is a wonderful little place close to me
I hadn't heard about what you mentioned, though...think it's a rumor.
I've had authentic chinese food in, well, NYC and it was delicious
oh good... i think a lot of Americans don't realize that what is marketed as "Chinese" food in America isn't all that close to what people eat here
I do like the "no so authentic" as well
OK...off I go. Have to get mom ready for her doctor's appointment and then I have to crank out some work. Leading a cub scout meeting this afternoon and there is more shoveling in the back of the house to do. Ugh.
in America it is much oilier, more fried, salty, etc. and of course huge serving sizes
I wish you all a wonderful day! I sending good thoughts and prayers to all. {{hugs}}
have a great day, car! good luck with everything
here there is more of a variety of flavors
Take care and have a good day, car. ((hug))
take care car, see you :)
Nice "meeting" you Rows!
Bye car..have a wonderful day dear :)
That is not surprising, Rows, China is quite a distance from the US.
you too!
Now I'm getting hungry for sesame chicken!
yeah, although there are a lot of Chinese immigrants in the US
General Tso's chicken and fried rice...mmmm
well, it's not that atheists wouldn't be allowed to graduate. it's just they would have to say this oath, which ends with "so help me God". so if they didn't want to... http://www.patheos.com/blogs/friendlya\ntheist/2013/01/25/arizona-republicans-\npropose-bill-that-would-not-allow-athe\nists-to-graduate-high-school/
but they changed the style of their dishes to suit the tastes of Americans... same as how KFC and McDonald's here have different menus for the Chinese, to suit their tastes
Wonders if Uncle Ben was trained in China?
which I think is insane, hurshy. But I have to say the pledge of allegiance weirds me out too, as a non-USian
Ah, hurshy...certainly sounds like Arizona. I really want to move back to California but it's too expensive. Just looking for a mountaintop in the high country now.......
Federal law says you do not have to say the pledge of allegiance
i want to move back to CA but there are no jobs for me there
well the funny thing is, i always said the pledge in school, but never once MEANT it or thought about what it meant. it was mainly viewed as a fun challenge to see who could say it the fastest.
:/
what's your field, rows?
i'm a teacher
I think it's ridiculous that so many find swearing on a Bible to denote truth---what if you don't believe in the Bible?
not sure what having kids say the pledge really accomplishes, then. what are they gonna do, sue me if i don't maintain allegiance to the US?
specifically, i'm trained in ESL and EFL teaching
so i'm here teaching English as a Foreign Language and kindergarten
I take it you're on a teaching-abroad program?
Master Chinese, Rows, and teach it as a foreign language and do kindergarten
Ha, sure, if i want to stay here for another 10 years
Teachers should be so much more valued than they often are....and paid MUCH more.
i've been here for almost a year and a half and speak just enough Chinese to do all the things I need to do in my daily life and to communicate with my students and colleagues
but i can speak Spanish... now the trick is to get a job in a country that speak Spanish
There is a course being advertised as learning Chinese in 10,000 easy lessons
I think we have a view of China as being quite oppressive....is that accurate?
then i can perfect my Spanish and come back to the US being fully bilingual and also speaking some Chinese
yeah, I'm an atheist not particularly nationalistic, so the pledge of allegiance just strikes me as... trying to forcefully shape kids into an ideal citizen that is no longer relevant
but it doesn't WORK anyway!
agreed Mimi... and no, it's not oppressive
rows, one of my good friends was in your same program, she came back and went to business school :(
for being a communist country it's really one of the least communist countries i've seen tbh
unless you want to say something against the government...
Mael, what do you mean "my program"?
Very interesting, Rows....good to become better educated about that.
what happened to the chat? It is so wide now I cannot read the end of the senttences
Many Americans talk about the Constitution without ever reading it ... and really do not know what they are talking about.
someone pasted a link... it does that when the links are too long :/
sorry guess it's my fault then
don't worry, i did the same thing earlier
very true BR
it'll go back to normal eventually
hursh, can you undo the link, then?
okay, thanks
it will fix once it scrolls off the bottom
sorry, rows, I assumed it was something like the JET program is for teaching english in japan
luckily we're talking a lot
anyway, i was gonna say that i feel the only effect of communism in my life is that i have to have a VPN to access things like facebook, youtube, blog sites, twitter, etc.
:)
she was in shanghai :)
but i have a really good reliable one so it's not even an issue
tadone!! finito!
yes, and a good conversation
Does the government monitor your communication, Rows?
and no, i've got my certification for teaching already and whatnot, and i'm teaching at a bilingual kindergarten here
better now, thanks
Rows, have you seen any roes in China?
YAY dawg!!!
WooHoo Dawg !!! congrats :)
Congrats, lb
haha if the government is monitoring my communication, they must be really bored
Good for you, dawg---didn't even know you were there!
and BR, enough with the silly jokes about my name...
has everyone got ariel's father? me6
yep, got that one right away :)
rows, that's awesome. What made you pick China?
So you are offended?
oh i didn't really pick it... i applied for teaching jobs all over the place, and a company in China was the first to offer me a decent job
one can be mildly annoyed without being offended...
not offended really, just rolling my eyes
My eldest son lived in Japan for 3 months and loved it...learned some Japanese and even learned to write it a bit.
yeah, i'd love to go to Japan
I admire your drive, then, it's really cool to be capable of upending your life and starting in another country
I don't think I could ever learn the writing
Yes, very brave.
japan's awesome, I spent five weeks there when i graduated high school
it's not as hard as you think, smores
well it's not the easiest thing in the world, but at the same time i'm not sure what else i'd have done
I am amused.
the writing in Japanese?
yeah
yeah
teehee
We need to remember we're all more alike than different and learn to embrace the differences as making life more interesting.
haha i'd rather try that than Chinese... even simplified Chinese is crazy
I mean, it's hard, but kanji is fascinating and not as dramatically complicated as people think
i was overwhelmed by culture shock just from going to tennessee, nevermind asia...
was fine in europe though.
I am a muse BR...
i can read some Chinese, but definitely can't write it, beyond simple characters like å£
teehee really, that's my last name :)
Yes, you literally are, smores!
absolutely, rows, much easier than chinese
right now i have ç¦ written on one of my fingernails for Chinese New Year :)
I am offended
I think they are both beautiful
lol...BR
BR, why?
BR is BR, he's just a little obtuse :)
smores is playing with names
No, it really is her name, BR!
It's my name and I can play with it if I want :p
obtuse .... okay ...
http://tinyurl.com/bek2g66
there we go :) i can show you the fingernail
i went to the nail shop and asked the lady for red and gold nails, and asked if she could write "fu" or something on my thumbs? and she went crazy and did each nail special for CNY
pretty :)
the character means "good fortune," and the Chinese like to have this character on decorations that they hang up, but the character is turned upside down, because the words for "upside down" in Chinese sound the same as "come to me," so it's like a pun, saying "good fortune come to me"
Love that, Rows!
<---- definately NOT obtuse BR
they are really into their puns and good luck things like that
I will not forget that.
Ruru would fit right in there!
maybe mael meant a different word... obtuse seems completely not BR. silly, yes...
Time to go
yeah, obtuse may not be the right word :)
Bye, BR! have a good one.
well, i don't know any of you so well so i'm not judging anyone, only pointed out that i don't like my name being made fun of esp. when it's something of a joke between my sister and me
Sunday I was a birthday party for my niece, she just got tattoos of chinese symbols for good luck, fortune and love. I told her it really meant dumb a** American...lol
my actual name is Rose
haha i could probably actually check for her
Bye BR :)
Saw a good movie this weekend on DVD...."Peace, Love and Misunderstanding." Jane Fonda and cast do a wonderful job...touching and funny.
BR, obtuse..I doubt that very much...a punster, yes
My daughters middle name is Rose :)
Funny, smores---sounds just like you!
yay Roses
the N's are hard.
The movie made me cry, though. Not hard to do since I cry at coffee commercials.
haha then don't see Les Miserables, Mimi
unless you like crying over movies
the Ns are hard, absolutely
Les Mis is pretty emotional... but really quite amazingly done
Already seen the play several times and the other movies....cry every time. Can't wait to see the new one.
After my grandmother Rosa
Anne Hathaway is brilliant
Since I've been a singer all my life, I adore the music in Les Mis....almost ready to cry now just thinking about it!
:) it's a great score
Might be seeing it this Sunday with a friend...thanks for reminding me.
i'm glad i was in the US for Christmas, so i was able to see it in the cinemas there
definitely worth seeing on the big screen
Do they have captioned cinemas near you Rows?
what do you mean?
Places were the movies are captioned into English
well no, either movies are in Chinese with no subtitles, or they're in English with Chinese subtitles
but we only get maybe between 7 and 10 foreign films a year
Smores, I wish we lived close so we could be movie buddies!
and they tend to come out in China at random times... or late anyway
like we just got Skyfall last week
oh, so you pretty much have to wait for the dvd
and sometimes the movies have scenes edited out since China is communist
:) Mimi
not always, i went and saw Skyfall in IMAX
cool
but it was missing 2 sex scenes, apparently, as well as one of Bond killing a Chinese security guard...
which is silly cos in reality, Chinese security guards are useless and pretty much just sleep
lol
OK, gotta get my stressful day started...ugh! Hugs to all and thanks for such good chat today!
Bond could've just walked right by him... or if there was any question, he could've bribed the guard with 100 yuan or something
yeah and they wouldn't want to edit THAT out...
hugs to you Mimi, take care :)
{Mimi} have a good one dear :)
i'm having a hard time with the oo5
Sending prayers your way Mimi
Please come back often, Rows!

because it's an art term
ooh, good to know Mael :)
like most italian words, relates to either art or music
we didn't export much more than that for a long time ;)
silly English, stealing words from other languages

Lucky you, Teach..blowing a hooley here.

Hello Jommie and welcome to Babble :)

Yes, I love it! It's very addictive :).
new player with us? --- welcome Jommie :)
Hi, my names is smores, and I am a Babble Addict...

Hi, my name is Wurdy, and I love s'mores.

hi, my name is Aloyisius and I am also a Babble Addict
I found all of yesterdays words, but it took me several hours to figure them all out.
did you use lickety's link? lots of people do that
I'm not an addict -- I just show up every day and stay until I've finished the grid ;)
:)
Hello, I'm Jilly and I am not an addict...I can quit anytime ;)
I used lickety´s babble clues for it ±'

good night everybody
Night ruby :)
Take care, Ruby.
Niters ruby!

Zoom, that's better than clues that are so obtuse that no one gets them. : D
he6/21...slang word for butt
<----!!FW!!
Well done, Jilly
HE6 ****z baked beans + two vowels
WTG Jilly!
Ah, she has survived the flu and conquered the grid.
ty, Molly and zooz
Still home sick though molly....
Get well soon, ((Jilly))
This da4/5 flu is pretty nasty. I have to be back on my feet tomorrow either way..
*Fluffs pillows for the sick one and brings a fresh cup of chicken broth*
ty molly...not the best patient...
Well good luck with that. I don't think the flu responds to time limits. : D
And with that goal in mind...heading out to forage for something that goes with the chicken broth. ;)
Get well soon Jilly.
Take care, Jilly.
ty all..*poof*
lookd like i popped in just in time to see that everyone has already left... except zooz? hello all!
Hello, Kate :-)
Hello TraderKate
Although i have just got fireworks..hehe
Well done zooz!
hello zooz, managed to scoop up a few of thos3e clues, but stuck on the one about the beans... go tthe start, but can't seem to make the 2 vowels work. hello bitong - i don't see you too much any more, is all well?
YEAH ZOOZ!!!!! WOOOOOT :))
Yes, not too bad ty. How are you?
get to the last to vowels on the grid go left one + usual vowel.
hi all
i will say that again
pretty well, i have the neighbours from hell living above me - keeping me up until all hours of the night - hence my late and very fore-shortened time on babble these days :(
get to where you last got upto ..then go left one then add another vowel.
Hello, BDG!
Hi Book Doctor Gwen
i take it you have asked them to shut up, kate? then called the police? then fire-bombed their apartment? (joke)
I share your pain, TraderKate. We have similar problems with our neighbours above us - blaring television :(
lol, Book
hi gwen, hope you are doing well. zooz, i will leave it for now, hein** i seem to be hopeless on that one for now - i'm sure it will come to me eventually...
doing okay for now, thanks kate! 8-)
it ends how my first name ends, kate
from the *N* go left one then add the usual vowel
38 left. Have fun everyone. Might bbl. Bye
these clowns play violent video games all night and day - feel like i', living in a war zone; nothing but machine guns and explosions... if i bang on the ceiling (3a.m.) i am treated to a spout of invectives i souldn't repeat....
even better..what Leslie said..lol
(not really here, back to work - POOF)
Take care, Biltong.
ahhhhhh - i already had that one! (clued as bum slang word) was trying iu...ia etc. D'OH!!!!!!
LOL
bye LA, thanks for helping a blind babbler
maybe you can get 'em on a charge of noise pollution and / or disturbing the peace
Sounds like they are playing a game called Call of Duty, Kate..a very loud game indeed.
tell 'em if they don't start using headphones it'll be a *real* warzone
Kate, find out what your local noise ordinance is. Here it is after 9PM. It is a legal violation and the police will respond to it.
Time for me to depart.Hope you can get some decent shut eye tonight, Kate..take care, All.
i wish, if they were blaring music it would be easier to do something, as it is, the landlord is keeping very good records of the complaints from me and the apartment above the idiots - hopefully they can be evicted for the nonsense soon. did i mention that they think it's acceptable to start laundry ( also next to my apartment) at 9 p.m.?
bye zooz, thanks again. see you friday maybe :)
Also, if they are playing video games all night and all day, they obviously are not working. So they probably won't be your neighbors for long.
go to the circuit breaker box and flip the switch
I had neighbors above me once who liked to vacuum at midnight. Freaks.
molly, it is noise ( within reason until 11 p.m.) but there is just no respect shown for other occupants who are day-shifters... they are also "heffalumps" on their feet... as i said, hopefully they wilil eb gone soon.
we have a "no laundry after 9pm" rule in my building
KT - wish i sould, we all have our own breaker boxes. i have been bad and run them out of hot water (on purpose) when they decide to shower at 1 a.m. - did i mention none of them work, so there is no excuse for not doing the chores during reaqsonable hours. it's not like they work until midnight then want to cook/shower when they get home....
gwen - we do too... prominently posted in the laundry roonm... again lack of respect for others... enough whining for me... LET'S BABBLE :))
sneaky one, kate!
na
i am bad.... i am going to hel... :)
*hell...
naw, you are going to the land of respectful apartment dwellers, and your neighbors are going, hmmm, anywhere else!
i hope i will be in good company - all the fun ones seem to be going "south", but what fun they had while they were here ;)
*Applauds TK for the hot water maneuver*
i am not beyond doing something drastic, i.e. cutting the line that provides their internet access.
they have neither internet or cable tv, as far as i know... hence the constant video gaming - not sure i would do that anyway - escalation is not always wise... did i mention that one has a government pension (disability) for "anger management issues"...
Evening all. :-). HI 4/5 reminds me of a joke. Q. Whats a Hindu? A. It lays iggs! Maybe that only works with an Irish accent....
Oh dear Lord, people can get disability for that?
yes, not the best choice, i admit.
we're talking about canada, where people actually get medical benefits when they need them . . .
: D Soo : D dle : D
Good grief!! I should move to Canada ! I'd be rich!
i say cock-a-soodle-doo to that yoke! LOL
Well, my point was that I don't think that is the best qualifier for disability.
it surprised me too, there are lots of reasons to get a medical disability pension, it's a first i've heard... there is probably more to it than that....
When I was growing up Anger Management Issues was known as being bad tempered!
It still is Soodle. Only now we coddle the whiny babies and give it a fancy name.
this guy is native - comes from a very bad home situation - i donn't think he's very bright iq-wise.. suspect he had fetal alchol syndrome and god knows what else.... it's a complicated picture i'm sure
A good kick up the HE 6/21 is good medicine for anger management issues.
i agreed with you soolde, the west is raising a bunch of (many) irresponsible brats... god know what will happen when we are all retired and in "thier hands", i shdder to think....
LOOL soodles - soodle for president... or what ever!
And let me guess, I bet that while the government is paying him not to work because of his "anger issues" they are still letting him have a drivers license.
nbt hooray for me
okay, let's dump on the mentally ill now . . .
Soodle as President...sings...♪and the world...would be a better place♫...and the world...would be a better place..♪ for you, and me♪ you just wait, and see♫
let me be very clear - the pension is very small - it still puts someone well below the poverty line - roughly 1050 dollars (canadian) per month - plus i believe they get most of prescription drugs paid, eyeglasses every 2 yeqars if required, and some basic dental - it's not a kingly existence at all. he doesn't have a car - not sure if he is even licenxsed
And no one is "dumping on the mentally ill". Sheesh.
sing it molly, sing it... (wishes i knew how to make music notes)
i must be hungry... trying to make "danish"
rats! sorry.... my typoing has not improvedf at all i can see.. off to the PB, hope there's something good in there today
Thank you, loyal subjects!!!
Shall we have the pastry from hamlet's country along with some lovely strong coffee and slices of pears?
Excuse me, Madame President? You have a meeting in the Wine...er West Wing.
let's see.. no crown, no sceptre, no orb... what shall your trappings jof power be oh great soodle?
The pb does not have to be so bare. We could bring along some cushions and make it very welcoming.
*Sits at the table for Gran Mere's afternoon snack*
soundsw wonderful stidgie, welcome to the conversation - i have been a chat-hog, will dive in for a few minutes and see if i can seek and destry a few more words in the grid :)
We can have a cabinet meeting for soodle and help her rule the world. Why does she want to do that? and give up her free time?
TK, you have a long way to go, and plenty of people to stand behind, before you become a chat hog.
The grid is not moving rapidly for me so the chat is the saving grace today.
My trappings of power would be my loyal band of Babblers advising me, pouring my wine, and peeling my grapes!
that's the problem with only having a few hours some days to abbble, i am torn between trying to "catch up" with people i used to see wvery day - and trying to finish the grid (almost never theswe days... am saving upp to get internet at home , but it will be a while yet *sigh* ---> widhes to win a small lottery
*Raises an eyebrow at grape peeling*
hmmm i was so sure farule was a word
Of course. Trader it is hard to do everything and I believe it is in the choices we make that we get the most benefit.
(ferule)
*Wishes everyone was as wise as Gran Mere*
Agreed, G'mere!

oops, no, missing ha7
anybody want a clue before I go?
well done Glan
mum has finally sytarted eating which is a good sign
i invited 4 of her friends around for supper and a game of upwords last night
she really enjoyed it, but it was a lot of work for me, making sure her house was clean and tidy and making food for 6
You are a good daughter!
ha7 is weird ha + 4th cons + latin ending
once she manages to sleep she will be ifne - thye took the staples out yesterday
i have a few days off because my brither is coming for a few days tomorrow
will she need to start physio soon?
ha i=sounds like a chemical element
she should have started simple exercises but wasn't showing any willing - thought i'd concentrate on getting her to eat forst
i've shown her the exercises she needs to do - very simple, but she seems to think walking is enough
i've said that moving her leg behind her and to the sode uses muscles which walking doesn't
i'll work on exercise again next week LOL
thanks glan, now 8 i words
yes, eating is sort of necessary. She will; sleep better after she does some excercise too
the il words all seem related

Hello all.
hi Bea
hi mo, like your little cutie.
Hello?
Hey, GE.
How's the grid today? I haven't jumped in yet.
Twisty.
I'm finding a lot of unfamiliar words.
Hmmm not sure I'm up for twisty
had to make use of list - lots of unknown, weird words
Bea, love the new icon. I don't think the caption goes with it though. : )
I don't have a new icon.
Is it raining like crazy everywhere today ?
Your icon used to be your grandson. Now it's Fear The Hawk.
Really? I still have my grandson showing.

Clues for which words?
i have 4 out of the 13... ai4/4 x2, am7/32, ar4/5
hi, everyone
ai4/4 x 3, ai4/5, ai5/10
Hey, Welki.
ar4/4 and ar4/6
are you home now, bea?
Yes, we got home late yesterday afternoon.
All unpacked and back to life as normal.
Hi, I desperately need a clue for ha 6,24 :)
i loved going to the shore during the winter - not as far as NC, but i'll bet it was beautiful
ha6/24, plural of the 5 before it
ha6/24 is plural of the 5/14 - think, midnight at the oasis and the sheik and his womenfolk
ha6/24 is the plural of the ha5/14
I've got it! Thanks!! :)
It is amazing the things you can see at the shore in the winter because there are not people.
The shore without people is the best
one february or march (years ago), i went up to bar harbor, maine - it was gorgeous. but i even liked going to the nj/ny shore - deserted
We've already reserved the same house for the same time next year.
nice - would like to visit the outer banks someday. duck - is that a name of a town in that area?
It is one of the OBX islands.
babblegrid maker should be ashamed
when my kids were small, we used to go to ocean city, maryland and rent a beat up old house right on the ocean - was great. i really miss the sea
Why is that, gemini?
wont accept ashame.......
Intersting.
I think it is because the word is ashamed
maybe,,, ashame is in my dictionary
there are so many screwy words tossed around in this game that i'm not sure what's a valid work and what's not anymore *LOL*
true!
accepts me6/24......
*breaks into a rousing chorus of "Everything's Coming Up Roses* in her best Me6 voice
well, i've shut the chog down - must be my singing :)
me6 is the male version of a me7(not in the grid). No one features the male versions in sexy ads though - go figure!
Hi again :)
HI, smores.
Hey Bea
lol PatorJ...
Just read back through chog...would love to spend a winter month at the beach Bea...
I wish everyone could stay a month at the beach, but then we wouldn't be alone. =)

whne I backslide and start whining, I hardly ever do that now.
okey dokey, time to list and finish this sucker.
Good evening Babblers
hi all. i need the k words clued. i have none of them despite spending time trying.
hello, whr.
sorry , wht.
Whr, What, Whee, so many names for Wht. : D
:P
there are 2 ke4,8 words and their plurals. One refers to the spacing of letters in printing.
The other is like a person named in a will with a different first letter.
ooh, these last 14 are hiding well.
The hardest one for me to find today was Juliet's boyfriend. I hate it when words are in the grid like that. It makes me cross-eyed.
TO, in the spirit of the other elements that are in the grid, the other words are made out of unobtainium.
ty Molly
hi all. fa7 please?
*Makes a note to memorize the periodic table* NOT
Not a success Cos.
ty got the ke words. what are other two please.
If you don't find it you will be a fa7, cos.
:D
ah thanks molly
i learned something fun this evening.
They are all ke words, mkg.
ty will look for others.
ty got all k words. ty ty
how about u words? i have none of those either.
*Waits for the something fun*
UR6 -- most of where men piddle in rest rooms, then plural
well, fun for me. VW is sponsoring a superbowl ad with the stars of t he year's viral videos. my friend's daughters;is one of them.
any u word clues out there guys? please?
ur4 major
and a row of ur4 on the mantle with ancestors' ashes.
ur6,21 sounds like it could be the plural of a planet.
nice, TO
am 7 help please?
But then the ur7 is the plural
she is crazy cat lady.
ha7 please? (and prertty cool TO!)
hi cos
Am7 ends like pasta
what does am start with temple?
<-- home from first day at work
sorry, i meant molly.
vw bought her vid for an online ad for a ridiculous sum last year. now she is back
thank you
How did it go Cos?
ha7,52 - sounds like 1/2 an element.
went ok.. only will be two 4 hour shifts per week but its extra cash and gets me out of the hous
got ur and ur both 4s. dont see ur 6
Jobs like that can lead to other jobs. Good luck with it.
most of what men use for liquid waste in restrooms, mkg
congrats on job, cos
i got a ur seven
right. ill be doing inventory and ordering for 7-11. i didnt even apply. ryan suggested me yesterday and HQ said ok he starts today lol
ok i got ur 7 but not the six. dont see it.
oh cos, i thought you meant first day after vacation. good!
Drop the plural, mkg
got it. ty ty for great clues.
i still dont see or get the ha 7
ty for ha7 took me some thinking to do :)
also the am 7 is alluding me.
What happened to the teaching job Cos?
ha is half a chemical? that is confusing me.
oh position still not open yet.. will open in late Jan or early feb
even my family cant figure out an element starting with ha...
the end looks like a chemical. not the start
oh my, i am watching pioneers of TV featuring batman. adam west is EXACTLY like he is portrayed in the simpsons!
*Hint* Google "list of elements periodic table*
do you mean family guy?
aaaaaand just found that chemical word in the grid doh
no i think he is on simpsons.
Adam West was on The Simpsons. It was a while ago though, right?
mayor adam west is on family guy.. joe diamond is the mayor on simpsons
unless adam west had a cameo on simpsons. i know he plays the mayor on family guy
Cos, we are talking about the Adam West who played Batman in the '60's
yes. the same one. i just googled it. he was on both
well then i would have to admit i have eatched family guy. *hangs hea4/5 in sh5/14*
lol prob saw the simpsons episode TO :) I am sadly a regular watcher of family guy because I have the tv at 7pm for Once so HE has the tv at 8 and he watches famguy
so how do you think the oscars will go then?
clue for the sh6, please.
hi all!
nm
sh6 - s + on top of your head + consonant
Lincoln sweep. Maybe some surprises. meryl will win if she's a nominee. cant remember if she is or not..
i meant with seth mcfarlan hosting
<---So sick of Meryl winning
that was a funny line at the golden globes about meryl
I concur with that Molly.. and TO I always forget seth is the host. it'll be interesting
<--- went to high school with Meryl, she won everything then too
** finito ** last word AM 7 which means a putto (whatever that is) represented as an infant cupid.

there are so very many that I forget. one that comes to mind is the volcano (not in tonights grid)
It's when you start remembering them that you need to worry. Even worse, when you start using them in conversation. : O
halfway!
Wow, Harry is one of those lightning fast Babble players. Whoosh!
whoosh and then *thunk* stopped
96 left and I'm at the wall
my cow is an excellent mooer. those two cows are not such good mooers.
mooer: mo5/12. why not?

Because Enable is a BS word list.

Also, if you sh5 someone (embarrass) you should be a sh6

The five before it with a high tile consonant on the end
thanks molly
sounds like a name of a bad guy in medieval time movies
ty Molly, new one to me
It's so weird how kids songs are different in different areas. Catch a tiger, catch a turtle. Eensy weensy spider, itsy bitsy spider. Candadian kids are taught the last letter of the alphabet is "zed" but they sing "zee" in the ABC song.
I do not have any sa5's...could I get some help?
sa4: alike, then sa5: add high tile point to end like molly says
theres another sa5 that is a plural...
and then theres sa + ***se and watch, then plural for the 6
thanks
zee rhymes with vee and cee!
ur6 please?
zed doesn't - I guess UK kids probably sing zee in the song too!
"zed" wow Molly never knew that.

funny story about what happened to my dog this morning (I put it on Facebook too):
So I was out walking my dog, Sera, this morning (in record-breaking warmth). As we turned into the driveway heading to my house, a squirrel was on the fence. Well, the squirrel was mightily disturbed by Sera's presence; he scurried along the fence and jumped INTO HER MOUTH. Fortunately I grabbed her leash and got her away, but this is one squirrel that is really too stupid to live.
LOL...that is hilarious
all three of us were quite startled :-)
suicidal squirrel
FW!! last sh5.12

really weird outside -- SEVENTY degrees at 11:30pm!
Yep, I just talked with a friend in KY and it is there now. We are supposed to get rough stuff tomorrow afternoon through 10PM, Be safe.
yep -- tomorrow's gonna be nasty -- lots of rain and wind
Do you have to travel anywhere?
nope! :-)
Oh good.
transporting rescue dog on Thursday but it'll all be over by then
tush?
howdy, ru
A neighbor of mine transports animals too. She has a house -full of cats but she will take dogs also. One of mine was going to be put down the next day, so she went up to Conyers, GA and picked her up. Both of my little dogs passed on while in CT and I have their ashes to be mixed with mine. This little dog had been mistreated by someone.....we belieive it was a man with boots.....for a long time she would bite any body with boots on. I've had her almost 3 years and she has finally gotten over it.
i understand about the man with boots -- my oldest rescue girl is 14 and STILL has an aversion to feet!
aw.. I have a similar story peach
well we know one thing for sure about her une...
she's a cutie?
she didn't belong to rex ryan
:D
rex ryan?
insiders foot-ball joke
:D
oohhh -- figured it had to be a sports thing LOL
*someone lurking is cracking up*
Have you always had pets ruru?
most of my life gapeach
but then I used to be someone's pet too
My closest pet was my dog before Dylan
HAHAHA! Me too, ruru!
he was the LOVE of my life.. there will never be another like him
you could google rex ryan and feet une..that'd clue you in to the joke
I do know how that is. I've said that I would give everything I own if I could have Little Charm back and healthy for one day.
I soooo get that peach
I would give everything I have to have my Monty back
Was he a rescue puppy?
no.. he wasn't
he was a puppy from a friend of mine.. i met him the day his eyes opened and he looked at me and i knew he was mine
... and I was his
how's that for english
I've had one Westie, the others all found me. I do think they have an underground map that shows where I am. LOL
