Oh, hello everyone
pert
PB for me
hi Douglas
trying to puzzle that ** word
It was from the song "Heaven On Their Minds" from the musical "Jesus Christ Superstar"
didn't see it
Judas was thinking that Jesus might have been better off as an unknown carpenter
I saw it but don't remember the song :-(
hi douglas
got it, thanks Douglas
stuck for the last 50
Hello flosey and jilli
Same here Jilli - but I looked up the lyrics and I'd already entered that as my first word!
Hi Douglas, Jilli and flosey :)
must go to goodle for that, Liz
I did jilli
Me too!
The k gives the grid a lot of krunch
There is an NFL player with a diacritical in his name on his uniform
saw Doug's comment and thought for a minute that ruru was here
Oh, Liz -- that ***** was my first word too, lol!
"The secretaries pout and ***** Like cheap tarts in a red light street, But all he ever thinks to do is watch."
I guess it depends how you approach the grid!!!
Or better still, Jilli - great minds :)
By "krunch" I mean "a lot of words with k's in them, not just at the beginning"
is pleased to be mentioned in the same chat entry as ruru when it comes to bringing frivolity
BBL - sleep well over there! :)
I take it that Babble has already digested the results of the Super Bowl?
<--- not feeling frivolous at this moment
awww, ruru, why not?
(my FB messenger in Brazil has gone to bed. It's nearly 5 am there!)
no idea what a FB messenger is jilli .. facebooK?
yes, facebook, ruru. I love it.

Congrats Diz and nan :)
ruru, on Facebook I belong to a worldwide group of serious Great Dane breeders and it's a great way to keep in touch and communicate. There's also a special Babblers' group. I don't know what scares you away. Yes, there's been a lot of publicity about privacy, but it's mostly bunkum -- you can control who sees what.
WTG Nan
Yay nan!
not true jill -- whenever you are active with a group or on a game everyone else who has a contact within the group or playing the game can see your profile
I still get e-mail from people who "saw my profile" and I got off of facebook over a year ago now
You can set things to Friends Only or Only Me or various other things. Anyway, I have nothing to hide.
is there more than one pe 7/
yes, ruru
will someone please clue en6
ugh
that doesn't mean a thing when you are using the socail part of the network
Nan, some of the privacy settings are more recent than a year ago.
en 7: magnify
thanks nan
Well, I still love Facebook and don't mind sharing. Nobody has been a bother.
still don't trust their so called security, jill -- there seems to be new issues with them popping up all the time
missing three
Do what I do: Be really boring - nobody bothers you ..
good night everyone :)
Sleep well nan :)
Chacun à son gout, nan :-)
Niters nan
Et bonne nuit!
Nanners nite ..
See what I mean?
nbs finally!
And you're not boring, torg!
I was just trying to get nbs. It's been a tiring day -- spent hours trying to get stuff transferred from my desktop to my newish laptop -- eventually figured out how to, via Windows easy Transfer which I hadn't realised was already installed on both. A neighbour helped.
But maybe everyone has left...?
I'm here on and off Jilli - muli tasking!
I have nbs but not nbt!
what do you need for nbt, liz?
stats for the a and e in the left hand column! Probably very obvious - but that's the problem with multi-tasking!
And can I help with your bbs?
nbs
ae5/12 and en6/21, liz -- and I do have nbt/nbs
WTG Jilli :) ty - I'll work on those!
Neither one is very obvious but have been here before.
I'll keep plodding on - have 53 left - will do some more tonight and then finish (hopefully) tomorrow!
morning :)
Hi Sarah :)
hi sarah!
BBL :)
how r u both
It's bedtime for me with 83 left and a busy day tomorrow so I'll have to settle for a mere nbt/nbs. Liz -- if you want clues for those words I can give them before heading to the pillow.
I'm ok, thanks, sarah, but sleepy. How are tings with you?
*things
OK - just came back - if you're still there, I'll take the clues ty
Also fine here Sarah - another week of no smoking begins! You'll do this one too!

It's great that you're putting your smoking money towards special things for the whole family to enjoy.
and i lost 9lb on diet to so all good :) and yes giels think it is great i do not smoke now
Smiles all around!
en6/21 -- like a town in California -- en + the same agency with a cons inserted
Another new word to me! Or one I've not remembered. ty once again - go to sleep now and sleep well :)
BBl :)
And congrats on both of you for quitting that horrible stinky weed -- I did in 1989 after about 47 years of puffing, a chain smoker in the last several years.
bye liz x

{{sprite}}

yesterday's was a breeze, yes. This one looks more interesting ;)
Ks killed
after a week of rain and wind and hail, we now have snow, ruby. And a bit of sun.
serious snow here but, finally, less windy
half and see you later XX
bye ruby :)
fireflies. Bye all.
Hello all.
Anybody here?
off and on Mich...how are you?
OK, lynxx, battling a cold/flu.
How are you doing?
pretty good. You need a dose of Australian sunshine to dry you out. Is it still raining over there?
We had two dry days but today is raining pretty consistently. I love the rain and we need it, but it is wreaking havoc on our health!!
Miserable when you are not used to it
I can't say I'm not used to it, but this has been the coldest/wettest winter in many years. Great for the country, we are going to have a gorgeous spring.
I was just looking at the snow pictures amazing
Snow in Israel? It is pretty, my kids go crazy over it although we don't get too much where we are - on the edge of the desert (just 25 minutes from the Dead Sea as the crow flies.)
hi, all. I went out yesterday and bought some silk floowers and greenery, and put them together in a small spray for my brother. I chose three silk fern (green), two pale yellow roses (one for each of my parents), three white roses (for myself and my two brothers) and six bluebonnets (because he was a Texan, and bluebonnets are the State flower.) I put all of them together, and tied them with a white ribbon, and it turned out just beautifully.
Sounds lovely, Angel, what is the occassion?
sounds sweet Angel
my brother's funeral is on Friday.
What a beautiful personal tribute Angel
Oh!! I am so sorry, I didn't realize. How awful for you, I am glad you find something beautiful to do for him.
oh Angel, I didn't know, my condolences. How sad
it is only sad because we loved him and will miss him. I know he is with the Lord, and that is not sad; it is a comfort and joy.
Grief is the price we pay for love, a price well worth paying
That is a beautiful sentiment, Angel, but the living are left to mourn.
we do not grieve for the one who has passed; we grieve for ourselves.
Of course. And now we really understand the meaning behind your flowers choices it makes it all very poignant
That is true, but the grief is real nonetheless. I lost my mother just a year a go and I know she is in a better place, but I miss her every day.
True Angel, but it hurts anyway, even with a faith as strong as yours obviously is.
(((Mich)))
Thanks Chrissie and hugs back to you!!
Thank you
yes, it does hurt. because I am human, still. the other day, I met my middle brother (who is now the eldest since Melvin is gone) to give him a photo of Melvin for the funeral program. I spent a few minutes with Teddy, and when he left, I broke down. I said, "Lord! I do not have the strength for this!" The Lord replied, "yes, you do. Lean on Me. I have all the strength you need." It immediately made me at peace.
Beautiful Angel, I wish your brother sunshine for his final journey on Friday, and I wish you peace
G-d is always There for those who call out to Him, but mourning and grieving are natural, human emotions and a part of life. G-d created those as well.
I am so happy you recognize the G-d is supporting you Angel, may you always have the peace that comes from a relationship with Him.
He has already made the journey, Chrissie. We're just saying "see you in a bit" on Friday.
I was blessed on Sunday to be at his bedside with my parents and Teddy. Ted and I held his hands and helped him let go of his earthly body in peace. It was one of the hardest things I've ever done, in a way, but I am glad I did i.
I was with my two sisters and my husband when my mom passed away, it helped me know she was at peace and helped with the mourning. I wasn't at my dad's side when he passed away and the process was much harder.
Hi all - my condolences, again Angel - a lovely tribute to your brother and "long life" to you Michnick.
Thank you Liz
hi Liz
Hi Lyn - hope all's well with you :)
I have noticed that grief is like tides in an ocean. At high tide, the grief slaps one hard in the face, and pain is overwhelming. Just when it seems no more can be borne, it recedes, and you get to take a breath. It eases for a while, then it is at high tide again. If we had to grieve at that high tide level all at once, we could not survive it. God, in His wisdom, made grief such that it can be borne.
I must go, bye everyone. Bye Angel - hope Fridays ceremony brings some peace to your family
Sleep well Lyn :)
Bye Lynxx, hope you have a happy and upbeat day!!
Opps, I mean night, I never get this time zone busniness straight
LOL - it is confusing talking to people all over the world!
Comforting and confusing!
It's good meeting so many different people. You wrote you were not far from the Dead Sea - do you mind if I ask where?
Just to add to the time zone confusion I am off for a shower and to start my day now. It is noon here but mornings are out for me at the moment. Happy babbling all.
Enjoy the rest of your day ChrissieDee :)

Diamonds are actually unstable at surface temperature and pressure. Every diamond above ground is very, very slowly altering into graphite, another form of pure carbon.
So cool!

Thankful the news is generally good, Car.

nothing like a wet, smelly, affectionate dog!
he just chopped them off, but didn't get to the bulbs
Ugh...
he sounds like a gopher not a dog..lol
and he gave the black and lilac-colored iris a premature haircut
now if he'd be a gofer, that would be nice
Hope you have better luck this year :)
if I could figure out how to post more pix, you would see, smores
I was given the iris by a friend, but have never seen them in flower
I got the Mom ones...adorable
we don't have a gardener any more, so the garden is pretty iffy and overgrown. The roses and peonies manage, however.
<----loves roses and peonies
then you must come in May! lol
uh oh, Ruby has finally come in
:) if only
soaked I'm sure
Well I must go get some things done. BBL to finish
this grid is not easy
Good Morning Everyone. It's cool, cloudy and snowing here; how are you all doing today?
Starting to get warm enough so that our snow is beginning to melt. Still very pretty out because last nights snow was very wet and all the branches are covered
They said on the news this AM that we've had over 6 inches of snow since Feb. 1st; we're in some sort of weather pattern where it snows every night; just enough to either shovel or cover up the dirt.
At least I don't have to deal with the daily rush hour anymore; it's been tough this week (black ice under fresh fluffy snow)
We must be in the same pattern
gee and I saw my first crocus this morning. currently 56 degrees. enjoy the snow.
we have 3 bird feeders and a suet feeder; I finally refilled them yesterday (couldn't get the shed door open til then due to ice blocking the door); they are having a hay day out there now! :-)
the robins came last week.
it is supposed to get back up to the 50s by Sunday
oh, my. I don't think it will be in the 50's here till ---maybe April?
we have ups and downs - one time last week we went from upper 60s one day to the teens the next day
mixi6; your icon pic is fascinating. My sisters and I took a weeks vacation on the Outer Banks last spring; those waves would have scared the daylights out of us!
ups and downs here in souther MN are 15 below to 20 above! :-D
It was Sandy going by.
southern
Was that on OBX?
we rarely get below zero (except with wind chill factored in)
yes. in Nag's Head.
last weeks wind chill here was -30 to -40 (but the temp was -15 F). I ignored the wind chill when I had to go out.
we were up in Corolla; had some meals in Nag's Head. We did some touristy things there; it was really a great vacation.
This year we're talking about the Black Hills in South Dakota (in April again)
we're going out west to the national parks inUtah in April
Ooh! Beautiful! When the kids were in middle school; we went to most of the Utah Nat'l parks (we missed Zion because of health concerns for DH)
we're going on a Road Scholar program.
WOW; that's really neat! I got their "catalog" a while back and we were thinking of doing that; but not sure if DH would be able to do too much (he has MS and still isn't fully recovered from his back surgeries last year) But it's something I'd like to do someday.
this one said walk up to 2 miles. but there is also a handicapped one in may.
I figure that we'll have to look for something that we'd be able to do maybe next year; I need to get him back in shape first.
hello again
I envy all of you making holiday plans! I think I'm stuck here
ruby, being "stuck" in France can't be too bad, isit?
true, true, and I have a great view from the house. Unfortunately, husband can't travel and if I go away, I have to come right back
They have all kinds of programs for all levels of activity.
dogs are arguing and jousting about, bye for now
ruby, I hear you. I worried the whole week I was gone last year; even though I had the kids and a couple of friends checking in on him (and our daughter stayed here but she was working too). I did learn the value of getting away, though; caretakers need to take care of themselves too.
ae5?
Mixi, have you ever done this before? I'm really interested in how it goes for you
ae + not FBI
sorry, Sugrr, I don't have it yet (but am now looking)
thanks, mixi
I've been to several. The first was a photography one in arizona. I went with my mother=in-law. It was great.
ty mix
lol
I went to one in Alabama for one day that was at the museum about the pompii exhibit that was there.
were those with Roads Scholar, mixi?
I 've been to a couple of shakespeare one the hotel was next door to the theatre in Stanton Va.
some were Elderhostel (now Road Scholar).
The ones I've seen were always where you did some volunteer work while you were there. I'll have to look again, now. (that's why I said the DH wouldn't be able to do them)
They feed you, keep you and entertain you or just a bit more than just the hotel stay. In the last couple of years the price has gone up, but so has the quality of the accomodations.
okay; I'll definitely look again
I need to take DH to his men's meeting; BBS! Happy Babbling!
we also took one in WVa. on trains looking at fall foliage.

hi again...back for a few more :)
sue how is frank doing
he's doing pretty well, ivesy, we are at the cancer center now and he is getting one of his short treatments
so glad to hear that.!
is he tolerating the short ones better than the long ones, sue?
he is, nef
hi everyone. Glad to hear Frank is doing better
the long ones are 5 hours at the cancer center then a pump for 48 hours, while the short ones are 2 hours at the center only, so it's a big difference
That's good, sue. I'm keeping him in my prayers that he'll be better soon.
I misread that. as They're treating his shorts. oops. tee hee.
thanks, nef!
lol, mixi!
wow- i am behind the times sue- sorry to hear frank is ill, glad to hear it is being treated- fingers crossed. :-)
(trying to multitask now that I'm half way. I'm sewing the head back on a doll we use for childbirth ed; I need to teach again tonight and need all of them for class. These things are really cheap; but we still need to use them.
thanks, wolvie!
<--- doesn't want to know how the head came off the childbirth doll

hey smores. :-)
Hi Wolvie :)
hope they don't do that for real!
be easier for childbrith that way ... lollol.. sorry just my sic sense of humor
hi Wolvie, smores mix
:D
:)
hi bichon
hey bichon :)
and all, lol
brb...dog wants out
It's a doll's head sewn onto a cheap muslin body stuffed with loose cotton fluff. And I think that the muslin is too cheap; I don't think I've seen such flimsy fabric before.
The parents and their partners use the dolls to practice diapering and swaddling; it wouldn't take much to tear this fabric. So I'm using some heavy cotton string around the neck of the doll and trying to sew that to the doll's body with regular thread. I'm hoping this will work.
and they ripped the head off eh?? lol. and wowsa.
well, maybe it teaches them that babies are very delicate :-)
that would be the best thing, yes. ;-)
LOL, sue. I hope that they've learned that before they have the baby!
ok, I am going to wander off for a bit, see you all later!
ttfn sue- and i am taking a break as well- too many vowels, lol
must go start cleaning out bedroom. new bed come in about a week.
bye, sue!
bye sue. good luck.
The new bed sounds good, mixi. Cleaning out the room sounds like work.
especially when you live with a pack rat.
whose also obsessive compulsive
well, this isn't working so well. The fabric is fraying so bad; I've got to figure out another way to fix it. (Working for a non-profit means you have to make do with what you have; I do wish whoever bought these dols would have bought something just a wee bit better.
I'm back
welcome back smores

aha....thought I heard laughter coming from the grid :)
** finito ** last word AI 4/4 - babblet - of course, no results in dictionary
WTG teach :)
Smores, if you are hearing laughter coming from the grid it's time to back slowly away from the computer and busy yourself with some real life activity.
But it was laughing at me Molly, it really was.
It was meant as a subtle clue...
Got to go...be back to finish later :)
I got the laughing clue...thanks lol
i am stumped over the ne's...anyone have a clue?
ne4/4 - is the Hawaiian goose
Hawaiian goose ne4.4
ne4/5 is like the tide.

I get mad with myself when I can't find ones like those. I should have seen them. But thanks again.

hi Pe**
it is really ok to say my name in grid. it is here quite often and no one goes to the PB :)

how many kh words are there?

thanks peri. missing 2 k words still. i'll keep looking! :)
one ka, one ki, six ke
thanks. one to go.

Peri, Peri, Peri (saying it lots because it's okay) : P
really and truly - kentia is a type of palm
was googling types of domestic ducks only yesterday to find out that the ducks on the nearby canal were Pe5.20 - and I still didn't find that till now.
an interesting grid but happy to finish - Bye all
the p,s in the grid are killing me:(
hi all,
crossy, it is your turn
re7 = re + color your walls
:-) @ Molls
Thanks Wyrd, already have that one.
this whole grid is driving me crazy. The vowels suck
I think we should have a peri party in the pb every time her name is in the grid
This many vowels makes a very weird grid.
parties are always fun
The Peri Drinking Game.
phantom: frog puppet
I went to visit my Mom today for her 89th b'day
never mind (when the glass is refilled)
Aw, Happy Birthday Mama Bich.
how nice for you, bichon
ok peri
If we have to drink every time there is "Peri" and "never mind" there are going to be a LOT of drunk people around here.
{crossy}
She didn't remember that it was her b'day, but she did remember who she was
I mean she remembered who I was
Eh, she got the important one right. : )
did she know you?
snap
Yes she did :)
((ruby))
But, it's like talking to her and no one's there
is she able to hear?
can you bring along a pup for her to cuddle?
Yes, she can hear well enough. But I had to talk to her about being abusive to the staff when they need to help her.
I feel bad for people with Alzheimer's. That must be a hard way to end your life.
your turn peri
I can. I would like to bring only one, but I don't know if that would work. She hates dogs anyhow
I think it's just as bad for the caregivers
My grandmother, her mother lived like this til she was 97!
maybe she'll have forgotten....
Probably not a good idea then, if she doesn't like dogs.
But, she always asks about Watson
nerm
uh oh, sleep beckons
good night
must eat bbl
alzheimers is terrible indeed .i help my father with his Wernicke encephalopathy(there is a western medical term for this also, but the name escapes me now).sadly, there is no real cure once the damage is done
Night Ruby. Enjoy dinner Bich. I will just sit here and roll my eyes over this article that says kids in Australia can no longer blow out candles on birthday cake at school because it spreads too many germs.
ahh, here it is simply referred to as Korsakoff syndrome
sad when kids are not allowed to be kids
They can't eat peanut butter, because someone might be allergic, now they can't blow out birthday candles. Soon they will be sent to school in plastic bubbles.
and the idea of germs from blowing out candles is funny.remember the stuff we used to do as kids outside,a mud pie in one hand,a frog you caught in your pocket while munching on a pb&j sammich that you made on the grass in the back yard
my sons public school was a peanut free zone due to one child
one child and an entire school is on peanut lockdown
my son never had a peanut butter sandwich till he started high school
The weird thing is, no one had peanut allergies when I was a kid. Not sure why so many kids have them now.
i cannot recall any peanut allergies in the kids i grew up with.we had never even heard of such a thing
Oh and bake sales at schools these days...no home baked goods allowed. Something might have GASP touched a peanut.
we were all naturally adhd but since we lived outside and played outside for fun,we were beat by the time there was too little light to see the nets playing road hockey
no baked goods from home? then it is not a bake sale.may as well trash that as well
and remember those multi coloured balls that were a tad smaller than a soccor ball that we all used in gym and used to play murder ball with? my son says that is also no longer allowed.nor throwing snowballs on school property
And try to have a birthday party with food for kids when Bobby has a peanut allergy and Billy is gluten free and Sally is a vegan.
no,thank you
my son was allergic to wheat. I had to send his own macaroons or meringue cookies (that I made myself) along with him when there were birthdays. You do what you have to do.
i used to make a note of what was being served at my kids parties.it is up to the parents to agree, decline of send food with little billy
indeed dorens
just sneaking in and then out again...when bairns have christmas parties or other parties at school, parents have to buy all shop bought produce which is in its original wrapper.no homemade sausage rolls any more, which are alot tastier in my view.
mmmm,sausage rolls
the kind you never see anymore with the flaky coating..
and in our schools, parents are allowed to make/bake their own food. Kids with allergies are taught to be responsible. However, somepeanut allergies are airborne, so a sandwich eaten at the table could put a child into anaphylactic shock. I imagine if it were your child who was in danger, it would make sense to have peanut free zones. But I've never heard of the whole school being peanut free.. Kids can bring in whatever they want, just can't eat the same table with air-borne peanut allergies.. Makes sense to me.
and the funny thing is that there is actually a parts per million limit on fecal matter in automated food processing.bet you do not add that home made!!
speaking as a person with multiple life-threatening food allergies, I think it's appropriate for schools to make sure that when things are distributed in the classroom that there are clear labels and cross-contamination is less likely. Too many people think they're cooking gluten-free (not one of my own issues) but forget they had something with wheat in it on the counter before they made the treat. Or they use the same frying pan for everything and the peanut oil they used for eggrolls has enough residue left over to contaminate something made nut-free.
Hi all :)
i remember all my school parties crossy, when my mam always made a big tupperware box ful of home made flaky sausage rolls...they were lovely! i also remember missing eating them at my last party at infants school as i was in hospital having my tonsils removed. i was well gutted.
Lots of schools here are peanut free. I think it's a much better idea to do what your school is doing Dorens, and teach kids to be responsible.
We have many children surviving infancy nowadays who would have died long before school-age who need to have accommodations.
Hi liz and stid
the one child in question at my sons school was of the airborne type of peanut sensitivity
so nothign with peanuts on the property
Personally, I react strongly to airborne contaminants from the mint family. Had the classroom windows and door open the other day when a child slathered ben-gay all over their hands... Had to take antihistamines PDQ!
Oh and good point about the fecal matter.
well then crossy, he needed to be very careful of exposure. But not the entire property? Dunno... we have three different lunch periods at my little school, and kids did eat peanuts, just not at the table of the child with the allergy
hi liz,stid and dorens
hi lil... mint? poor stid... one of my favorite aromas
I've also taught in schools, where a couple of kids had extreme reactions to peanuts - and one child in my class also to latex and a million other things. Had to check everything with his mum. The latex allergy meant he had to wear gloves when playing ball games. But I do think the candle thing here is well over the top!!!
Doren, perhaps your school is bigger than the ones around here? When you only have 200 kids in the school, a child eating PB&J at one end is very likely to pass by or touch something that a highly allergic child cannot avoid.
at my daughter's school they all eat their pack lunches and school dinners together, whatever they are eating or allergic too
we have 400. thought of that as small
Dorens, I think that is the best idea. Kids cannot count on every place they go being "peanut free". Better to teach them how to deal with their allergy.
but saying that they have 2 dinner times and it is a school of atleast 1700 children
The thing is that although kids are told often not to share their lunches - they still do swap, so it does rely on the responsibility of the kids.
That seems big to me... the K-8 schools around here typically have about 300-400 kids, usually in a couple of different buildings.
my sons public school was 150-200 students who all ate same time
i was always proud of my granddaughter asking if food had nuts because her mother had a nut allergy. Before she had been tested, she knew that she needed to be very careful.
1700 is I think fairly typical of large high schools in England
anytime something was offered that she didn't know was safe, she would ask
but yes,the child must be taught as soon as possible because in adult like he/she will have to accomidate the world and not the other way around
life
Very true
With peanuts, in particular, students who are highly allergic (for some reason that seems to be the one that causes airborne issues) simply cannot avoid the air that is recirculated through ducting. I have a dear friend whose child has missed a total of several years' schooling because when the anaphylaxis strikes from the airborne contaminants she is sidelined for many weeks. Each time.
kids CAN be taught just about anything even early
that is exactly why our public school had a total ban on the property stidmama
well, it is alot bigger than when i went to school liz but then we had high schools and then schools you went to for the last 2 years and stopped on at 6th form if you wanted but now they are all put together and called colleges
As adults, we can choose to work in smaller places and in fields where we don't have to deal with the public. And as adults we have the option to use additional medications at well. Children do not have those options at school.
I guess kids like that can't go to public playgrounds, restaurants, movie theaters, ball parks and any number of other places either.
by the way liz, i haven't seen you since.congratulations on being an aussie :)
wow stid, I thought it had to be in the same room. that is a shame
Bigger than my 2ndary school too - 600 or so kids then! Thanks lilliann :)
That's right, Molly -- they can't. And they don't. But unless their parents can afford private tutors, the majority of children still need to be educated in the schools.
I think there should also be more education for other kids, so that they can understand how dangerous these allergies can be.
Anyway, I have papers to grade and supplies to purchase -- funny thing we are talking about food, I am having one of my classes make pancakes this week. Which, of course, I cannot eat... LOL hopefully they will enjoy the experience, though!
the child was home schooled for high school however as our high school is very large 1400-1600 and 600 of that is bussed in from small town nearbye and the logistics of banning that many kids and a property that size for one child was prohibative
Have a lovely evening, all! *poof*
we had one student who ended up being home-schooled, but her problems were far greater than just peanut allergy
Enjoy your evening stid :)

School (if it's peanut free) and home. Really, when you think about it, those are the only "safe" places for a kid that allergic.
it is a tough road for a child i am sure
i saw a show about a child allergic to sunlight.was terrible
I see on fb that the kid I taught, who has so many allergies, seems to keep discovering more and more of them. He sounds so resigned to it now!

yech
I love it.
Harry, I lived in Norwich for 7 years.....are you anywhere near Norwich?
<---Has no idea what is to "love" about a foot of snow. All the shoveling? The awful driving conditions? The bitter cold?
quite far - in New Haven
molly - the fluffiness, the quiet, the kids playing in it. and I don't mind the shoveling, and the driving is a challenge :)
Oh, yes. I still have family there, well sort of.
I lived in Gwinett county for a couple year, gapeach
Duluth GA
Did you like GA?
There was a story in the paper about a family that moved to Duluth GA, but their moving truck took their stuff to Duluth MN.
But Harry, fluffiness, quiet, kids playing in it, shoveling...you can get all that at the beach. And not freeze your behind off doing it. : )
I liked it, except from May through September.
I wonder if they specified the state?
molly :) I don't get snow in my shorts and sunburn on my scalp when I'm shoveling
and the great thing about the northeast, is you can have the beach AND the snow. just not at the same time, and just when you're getting tired of one, the other one comes along
Yes, the summers are something else. We just try to go from airconditioning to air conditioning. The darned humidity is just so bad. Oh, well.
I'd get drenched just walking from my car to my office. holy cow.
I guess snow love is something I will never understand.
it's an acquired taste
good night all!

Good night Harry, have fun in the snow. : )
can someone clue the bottom I? It is probably very easy.

Peach is very good at giving clues. She is also good at gluing...gluing her good wishes to others, which en7's their life, thus making it prettier. : )
How about mi6/27?
Don't go syb, we will help you.
Our Babble player who writes clue stories + the Ma*** calendar said the world would end last year.

Me too syb...we can get thru this together!!
Well, it sounds like Chinese take-out to me. But it is a group of men for prayers.
Sheesh...never would have found that one TY!

To quote Mae West, "When I'm good, I'm good, but when I'm bad, I'm better."
i have monkeyed around trying to find the hawaiian goose for hours now....
Do you have the first two letters?
LOL...just repeat the first two letters
yes
I love the word...reminds me of our trip to Hawaii
OMG!
What Jilly said.
If you do a Google search on "Hawaiian goose" it is the first thing that comes up.
See, you're just going to love these peeps here.
My sister said the same thing....google it...but I try to just use me and the chog for clues
Google search is a great thing to use if someone has given the definition but you are still unsure of the word.
thanks guys...you sure are an encouragement
To me, there is no difference in getting a word from clues in the chat log and doing some research to find it yourself.
You are so right. I don't know why I can't wrap my head around that.
My sister "googles" everything.
It's funny. Some people who play this game consider using Lickety's list "taboo". And yet they will take any kid of clue from the chat log. It's all in how you choose to play, I guess.
I just use whatever I can, very few grids without lickety tho...
And Syb, I learned a new text abbreviation, courtesy of my son...FGI F(Expletive) Google It
assistance with the e's in the last column....Love that FGI....
I am constantly amazed at all the plain, simple words I've overlooked when I use a list ..
Hey there torgone....me too
amen!

er4 the sea eagle
er6 the mink-like creature
so simple, but just couldn't get it

Me too Tor. And I'm not sure if that makes me a Village Idiot or Cream O'The Crap...which by the way is the funniest thing I have ever read in Babble chat and I laugh every time I think about it. : D
:^D
i am mainly missing 5 letter words now.
spork, mania, blobs, crumb, shoot, agita, whelp ... do those help?
I've forgotten the sea eagle....help please. Thanks
Wow..down to 10...!! Guess I'll finish it after all
