yea - i used to have a springer spaniel - a bit manic, but generally amazingly tempered and very very loyal and loving

i just love animals - often find they're much nicer than people
I guess I love both. Though some people act nasty and I tend to steer clear from those.
yea i know what you mean - trust in people is often harder to acquire than trust in animals though
animals are never intentionally cruel. Some people are. But mostly I think, with people, you are ok as long as you don't judge but are aware and protect yourself.
very true - plus u find that with most unpleasant animals it's because of the way they have been treated by humans, sadly
yep, either directly, or indirectly by overbreeding or breeding for stupid and dangerous traits.
plus some rescue dogs because of the fact they've been mistreated by their previous owners - people who do that should have the same done to them

i can imagine. this is our first winter in our house, and it wasnt until we got a little bit of snow that i realized (thankfully!) that we dont have a sidewalk in front of our house. less work for us!

We don't have a sidewalk. But, the snowplow pushes all the snow onto the foot of our driveway. That's the hard part. We really need a snow blower
any opportunity to buy one before the storm hits? (any left in the state?!)
Here's a snow tip: If you dig out your driveway before the plows come by, dig a 3-foot-wide channel to the left of the drive, 10 or 15 feet long. The plow will dump its load there, leaving the mouth of your driveway clear.

That's unfortunate, Bichon. Maybe you can school your neighbor on this trick, or even take the time to clear just the first three feet of snow from your driveway and the neighbor. It's a matter of moving a little fresh snow as opposed to moving a mountain of packed plowed snow.
You can even do just that part without shoveling the rest of the driveway first. I did this for years when I lived on a country road and it worked every time.
we are advised to do that in our township. unfortunately, we are on a cul-de-sac and the drivers plow clockwise. so they have the bilk to discharge on our side. that does not work
they plow across the drices regardless. it is just that the left side gets very lilttle and those at the end on the right side get everything .
Still, if you create an empty space inside the curb on the side of the drive where the plow will approach, it will dump there instead of in your drive.
i only wish that were true. it is not. no one is spared.
i mean, don't yoi find it itally odd that a driver would plow aganst traffic in the first place?
Yes, it does seem odd they would do it that way. It may be easier for the driver to see the curb if it's on his left, so he doesn't break the plow.
We live on a circle and the actual road is very narrow. I'm just happy when they don't dump an entire load in our driveway. We have to have special smaller plows rather than the usual city plows
Where I live, they use pickup trucks for cul de sacs, not the dump trucks.
They do such a better job of picking up the snow here in CT than they did in New York City

i never use a dictionary in scrabble unless someone contests a word
Does not change the fact that someone made each word ... whether or not in a normal dictionary (whatever that is.)
call them rather un-words or babblets then instead of made up words since as br says some one at some time carved each word into a rock somewhere..

we have been to grand palladium hotels(not colonial)in jamaica.we went to cosamel which is a mexican island off playa del carmen for the day and went to a bird park. we were going to go to a zoo/adventure park but it was going to cost us £72 per person including the bairn as she is now 13 so classed s an adult and we weren't going to pay that much, plus we would have had to pay extra to get there whether through our rep or taxi. i wanted to go and see the pyramids but people we were with on the plane and got to know well told me it wasn't wheelchair friendly so we didn't

I would really recommend Xel Ha if you swim/snorkle. It is expensive but worth the money and is all inclusive of food and drinks when you are in and I think this was probably wheelchair friendly. Swimming with the dolphins there was fantastic but extremely expensive. *salt, tequila then lime* thanks Molly

i would definitely go back to our hotel as it was only small, but all the staff were great and we could use the other rui hotels around us. we did go to the yukatan which was just down the road and saw the monkeys in the trees and it was great
wow that was a good buy. We paid £4000 this Christmas but our friends booked a week later and paid £5000 (both just for two). We have paid £2500 for both of us going on 5th December coming back on the 19th.
the £3,1000 was for the 9th of january for 2 weeks
It is amazing the price difference there is for missing Christmas.

molly re: tablet babbling.i have an asus transformer tablet that is compatable with a word to speech program we have for my sons school computer called dragon naturally speaking.when i was setting it up for him,as a laugh i test fired it on my tablet and it works wonderful in tandem with babble once you learn all the voice commands;))
this speech to type program learns as you use it and can,in time do as many as 160wpm
I also have a problem because I type too fast for the tablet to keep up. It is good for playing Angry Birds!
