Does anyone have their TV news on? I heard earlier that they thought they had the guy who killed, I think, 4 people....at any rate, he had holed up in a house on Bear Mountain and exchanged fire with police and then the house was burning and they couldn't get to him.....just wondering if it really was him?
Sorry, y'all, that really wasn't kind of me to bring that up when y'all are getting ready for bed. I am sorry.
They are not confirming anything. LAPD says the house is still too hot to go inside
bigy
I think they've pretty much said it's him, but I heard they're waiting for DNA to be sure
But the ladies that were tied up and the guy that had his truck stolen all said it was him
Sorry, wrong place
rbud...hello
big news Peach, very nasty ending but quite a few people will rest much easier
Rose, I shouldn't have brought that up. I'm sure some people are getting ready for bed and I just didn't think about that aspect.
Yes, flosey, I feel sure they will.
ah, just got the ge7
oooh ty flosey... that must be my missing 7... looking!

Hi again :)
hi Liz
Hope you get to do it flosey - I am later this year
several friends of ours have done that, flosey... every single one of them was impressed
where to, Liz?
then I really must do it
Inside passage - 7 days
Photos from friends look amazing!
wow, that's a long way from Australia
Bucket list holiday. Rockies too! Meeting cousins from AB and also friends from London
oh, wonderful Liz, and the Rockies too are so great
Very excited!
I bet - and great to meet up with cousins
Last saw them here for our wedding in 2008.
I have several cousins in Ontario that I haven't seen in, hmmm, some about 40 years, hard to believe, last time I saw that one in particular was at his wedding
Time flies which is why we decided to do this trip now.
I have promised to go to Toronto this Spring - actually they're all outside of TO - it's just the most central, and known area
smart lady, do it while you're young and can really enjoy it all
That'll be great for you - will you be catching up with family.
Love being called young!
yes, have 2 sons back there, and many cousins
lol, I'm 80 Liz so .....
That wool make the trip even better. Age is just a number, Flosey!
that's the way I've always thought Liz, but the old bod is telling me otherwise
Wool? Should be will!
Just make the most of every day!
that's for sure
That's our attitude.
flosey, ad6: ad + Hawthorne's nick name.
thanks Peach, looking
Hawthorne, peach?
oh, do have it, thanks Peach, someone gave similar clue
Oh, Liz, I was reading flosey's clue request.....didn't scroll down to see that she already had it.
Liz, did you get that one, hon?
Ok! Was that the one with the boys nickname?
early American writer?
Yes.
Ok, so I have it, thanks :)

It is snowing just now but only the usual Liverpool 1mm!
Anyone want clues? I have fireworks here

We are all dug out. Finished the last of the shoveling yesterday. Thank God my DH was home!!! He was awesome!

hooray for awesome DH!
Kitten has now decided he is going to hang out in the kitchen with the rest of us. Prepare for funky typing.
and now for crossy's tidbit of the dayi what could possibly be the best lease deal ever!!
More snow coming here tomorrow.. As of Tuesday 70 percent of our town was without power. One of the coastal towns still was almost 50% out as of last night at 6pm...what a mess it is here South of Boston. We still lose powere each afternoon for 5 horus while probelms are being resolved.
In 1759, St. James's Gate Brewery (where they brew Guinness) was leased for to Arthur Guinness for 9,000 years for 45 pounds per year.
RKB....I am in Norwell and we are back up. Can I do anything for you?
Good one Crossy! I had heard that on the History Channel!
car...too funny...i am in Hanson and work PT at the Pepperidge Farm store...we probably have met. :)
Hello again :)
Believe it or not, i have NEVER been in that store! Perhaps I need to start frequenting it though!

ge6 is a Hindu
yes...help from some rain the other day...lost a beautiful 35 year old dogwood in my front yard and about 10 saplings that were top heavy and now are all split in half...not to mention the limbs and other tree tops lying around. We live on a river and hoping against yard flooding as we melt.
ahh, so sorry RKB
meant to type aww
we're very fortunate...so many other lost so much.
I saw reports, it looked awful.

howdy aloy
hi crossy, quiet in here!
indeed,just start the grid myself
am opening chat with 21 to go
i should try that some day as i never seem to finish the grids anymore
and am not pleased that the Frito "bandito" is unacceptable!
i am not happy that naptha is not accepted
yup, I close chat so that I don't see hints, etc.. after I "earn" the list (3/4 done), I open it up.. think that naphtha has two h's? not sure
but ty for the ba 6/27
.. tried it too
yvw.. I probably deserve the PB for that
mmm,i see 2 spellings "naptha" and naphtha"
interesting.. guess enable is picky about that
in all things enable is american first
i am actually surprised it takes as many varriants as it does
spinning wheels trying to find the ba7, hope it isn't too fishy
aloy, not fishy at all.....b, article, number after 9 and consonant
whatever that means

good answer, smores
oops, just got kicked off the internet.. glad it was temporary
hate when that happens
we use a local tower and so winds and bad weather can affect our signal
must stop myself from eating another biscotti
*slaps the biscotti out of smores h4*
trying to monkey the ge6
I had never tried pakcaged ones before, surprisingly tasty. Nonni brand

ahh, yes...I remember you but couldn't recall where you were.
lol - once someone's talked to me they always tend to remember me for some reason! lol
:)
going to start the day, bye dear babblers
bye annie
Bye Annie...have a good one dear :)
bye annie xx
jmc, before I leave, a suggestion for the babble flag, a cat, a dog, a monkey
a recipe, okay, enough out of me, bye
oboe
ty for the suggestions. . .
ooops sorry!!!!!
:)
ty worzel . . .lemonade in the pb dear
lmao youre welcom jm xx

duh! slap me with fish! and nbt
:)
wow that gerund is just there to annoy!
yep
and it's doing it very well
haha
- back.. hi jmc, good to see you!
hi snuffy. . .yes we have been missing each other!
and yes I tried poing
me too smores
and toing
lLOL
waste of a gerund
indeed snuffy
i can't believe how daft i am - i just typed in gerund - even though there's no r lmao!!!
:D
-ing ending is a gerund. . . from your grammar days!
i don't know what gerund means xx
sigh.. you must be a young'un and not to blame.. grammar is not taught as it used to be
easy to forget all we learned. . .i had to relearn how to spell consonant myself
i've just been reliably informed that gerund means fat. Is that so?
rotund ?
no worzel it is a word that ends in -ing such as snowing and raining and jumping
yes that's more diplomatic, ty aloy xxx lol
yes i think rotund is probably what they meant
bbiab need a break me eyes are going all squiffy!! sys xxx
of a plump nature?
bye, worzel
haha i was talking with a GRADUATE student and he had never heard (he said) the word gerrymandering. . .
hard to learn american history without that word imho
h'mmm... where was the grad student brought up?
pennsylvania
LOL... ok
there goes my idea about a foreign grad student
hola!
i wonder what word the brits use for that concept
hi science
hola geek
lovely icon! haha
lol
I got The Hornet's Nest
good. . . i hope you enjoy it
bbl
Gerrymandering is the term used here as well.
well that was a quick visit
Good morning/afternoon all.
hi Haz!
Hello, Aloy.
ty haz. . . since it was based on a US politician I thought it was possible there was a different term
I am going crazy trying to find the ba7. Any other clue besides Annie's?
are you vacationing at a beach haz?
let me look kenny
I wish! No, it's a photograph taken in Zanzibar, it's to remind me that the sun does shine somewhere in the world.
b + ** apple a day.. + Roman X + *o to sleep, little baby
ty snuffy
lol, we can not mention any ph7's in this grid without going to the PB !
not much sunshine here in DC. . . it came out yesteday and everyone was asking what the shiny thing in the sky was
yw, glad it worked
I'm not insisting on heat, jmc, it would just be nice not to have grey clouds.
Were you looking for suggestions for your flag, jmc?
yes i understand haz. . .it gets oppressive after awhile
yes. . .it is open to discussion. . .this is a draft
i am running it up the flag poll to see if anyone salutes. . .so to speak! hahaha
you could just leave it blank and say it's a ph7
How about a babble letter? A tile from the grid with number attached. Also something to indicate the global nature of the game.
can you fit a PB pic on it?
would be nice in memory of FM
i don't think the pb pic would fit. . .
"and now it is time for crossy's handy household tip number 34: having bacon for breakfast? of course you are!.sometimes though,a butcher is not as good as he can be in cutting your wonderous porkine tidbit and when you try and peel the sliced to lay in the pan they break here and there in bits and pieces and just spoil the bacon aura of the day.well no longer! what you do if it looks like you are in for a fight is turn the pound upside down and peel from the back. nine times out of ten,it will peel much easier and bacon goodness will be yours once again:))
i think of the candle as for her and others. . . even ph7 others
Finally I found the ba/7. Now I can pass-out.
ah, ty crossy!
dear me kenny! glad you found it though
lol Kenny.. it is a doozy
crossy also solves this by buying thick sliced bacon;))
lol...kenny :)
nice crossy, can count on you for bacon tips :)
well i must go do some work for class. . . bbl. . . all suggestions for the flag will be taken under advisement!
104 left *poof*
for a relatively small grid, am running into a number of newbies!
bye, jmc
Bye, jmc.
Well, until you decide I will just look at it as a ph7
Bye...enjoy your day :)
me too Aloy
like ta5, ta + what you do at an auction
if we have seen that before, I have forgotten.. quite possible
ty...lol didn't have it, and haven't seen it before

oops, should have said males that carry ice, sorry
lol...yes, I remembered that one
fw.. so off I go to hang some laundry out.. tc all and have a great day!
WTG Aloy...enjoy your day :)
Bye, Aloy.
And I must head off as well. Have a good day.
You too Haz :)
ba7?
ba7 - ends like the powdered orange drink astronauts once drank except with a different vowel
b + picnic pest + ***lish is the language most of us speak
It's some weird, Southeast Asian ox. Another "Enable special".
ty, molly and bzz weird word
tadone, finito!! the 7's really hung me up today.

I kept wanting that ba7 to be the Frito Ba6o.
WTG, LB!
'ello 'ello 'ello!
hi hurshy
nate
oops sorry
good morning everyone
heya starry! i think you're the only friend i have that crosses over on two websites. well there are plenty that cross between here and sudoku but that doesn't count cause they are connected, both run by doc.
not that i've done any RNA in quite awhile.
have you even been there since they started the switches?
switches are when you have to make it that if you change one bit, it makes a different molecule, right? i think i saw that.
i didn't participate in it though, sounded too complicated for me.
a lot of them are a pain, but there are a few easy ones
but it's not FUN. at least not for me. so why would i bother?
It's fun at first. Until you do too many. Then it gets to be the same thing over and over.
so how are things with you.
But, I have some kind of compulsion to do as many as I can.
I have a cold. >.< How are you? Better than me I hope.
oh i am sad we cannot have ba7 as the spanish version of ba6!
well, i do not have a cold.
my sister is coming for a visit, arriving tonight, so that's exciting.
sounds nice
she's coming bc my cat got a diagnosis of terminal kidney disease in early january. she couldn't afford to just drop everything and come when the time comes, but she wanted to show her support. he's still doing really well on the hospice care for now. i keep praying for a miracle too.
oh :(
well, if i do not get a miracle, it has turned out to be nice to have this time with him to give him lots of love and enjoy him.
i feel like it might not even be as hard when he goes as it was when i first got the news, because i will have had the time.
but maybe that is overly optimistic.
maybe not
anyway, it's good you get to enjoy him now
yeah. he's just such a LOVE.
hi all stats for the 9
Is there a way of using the "ing" in this puzzle?
doesn't look like it, that stupid O is in the way
such a waste
that's what I thought.

he's ok, ivesy, we are at the cancer center now and he is getting his 5th long chemo treatment
when he's done he will go home with a pump that he will wear for two days
it is getting tedious but he is handling it pretty well, and of course we want the cancer to be gone and to stay away!
such new techniques for chemo now. glad to hear he is handling it. fight the good fight to beat it
Hi sue, nice to hear that Frank is still sticking to the treatment
am off for a bit now. sue , you and frank have my prayers. never give up. cancer sucks
hope all turns out well for frank.thoughts, prayers and hugs to you both
thanks, ivesy, take care!
hi bichon! Saw a very cute bichon frise at the dog show (on TV last night)
bbl.i've promised my daughter another game of cards before bed.
bye, lilli! Hugs to you and her - hope she is doing well!
Yes, I have yet to watch it. Of course mine don't look so spiffy as that one.
***Hugs to sue and lilliann and bichon and ivesy and...*** I have lunch for a few more minutes...

hi stid!!!! just got here. why aren't you at school?
hi Sue
and bichon too, not intending to be rude. Sorry
hi bugs! stid is having lunch.
oh. Last night I went to Facebook and saw she was feeling disouraged. Glad she is still standing
are you keeping Frank company today?
She is very brave - I could never teach children!
I am, bugs, I always come to his appointments with him.
how comforting for you both to be together
Why am I not in school? Bugs
I hate oo words
I think he appreciates the company (although he's been dozing most of the time)
if you shud be in school too Bichon, Get to class! I really meant hello to you too
are there oo words in here? That would explain why my o squares don't have very many words.
there is 1 oo5
Okay, I'm 66 years old. Not in school. But schools here have been closed since Friday because of the big blizzard
wow, still closed, bichon? I saw the Boston schools opened today.
how are you manageing in the blizzard, bichon. I have been getting reports from NH that have shovelling snow as the biggest complaint
The roads haven't been cleared well enough for school buses to negotiate turns. And, they have to inspect each school roof.
never thot of the roofs.............. good plan
We are okay now. Our cul-de-sac didn't get cleared til Mon. night. Then we had to clear what the plow did to our driveway. Making turns on a street is a scary business
Went to Costco today and refilled the food supply
how much snow did you get, bichon?
hi all.
back. sorry, kids will be here in five minutes. I am still standing, Bugs. Discouraged, yes, but standing my ground and getting good support. The kids who won't learn, who are distracting the other students are earning their grades, I am trying to help the ones who want to learn, and I am seeing real progress from them.
hi medusa

wow, that is a lot, bichon!
that is all you can do stid. you can't help people who don't want to be helped. There will come a time in their life when they are willing but you are not letting everyone else down who is ready now. hugs

Jeesh. I just read the silliest thing on MSN. Comedian Steve Martin is a father for the first time. He is 67. Really, Steve? Another cliche.
WOW!
82 left!
Saw that as well. Wouldn't want to start parenting after 50, let alone 67
I'm sure that's what Steve said... right before he burst into tears.
mostly I figure people's business is their business, but I worry about people having children at such an advanced age; the chances that someone else will wind up raising them seem pretty high
hahaha judi!
I absolutely love Steve Martin, but I'm disappointed to learn that he's now a baby daddy. I don't know who the mommy is. On the up side, she'll never have to worry about child support.
help with top row G please

NBT - No Blank Tile - all the letters have at least one thing
ahhh. I've seen this forever and never knew. Thx
NBS - No Blank Word Stats - have at least one for each of the number sdtats
no probs. took me a long time to ask too!
I officially hate this grid. I quit.
always good to ask - babblers are always willing to share
i have found i have been very welcome here
do you want a hand Judi...Morewords and I are here to help
I enjoy the puzzles even without the knowledge, but good to finally know.
wha is morewords?
Judi, I try for nbs, nbt, and half way; sometimes I keep on going and sometimes I declare victory and just chat.
http://www.morewords.com/ - VERY useful tool
thanks lyn
If you use BabbleExpert then Morewords is under Resources
alphabetical lists arranged by number of letters in word
for example, bugsaw told me there was an oo5 word in the grid, so I went to morewords, typed in oo--- and it gave me all the 5-letter words that begin with oo. There aren't a lot of them so I was able to spot the one in the grid pretty quickly.
cool!
may have to consult it in a moment!
2 left: po7, ge6
go mom
got po7
go mom go
more words works great! FW!!
anyone help with the ge6 please and thanks

good evening all... finally made it after a huge computer crash
hi Sprite - we saved a juicy one for you
hi sprite
i was asked on fb to identify "romatic" food and i will post my response here for those who do not do fb.please ignore all typos
it is a tad long
hi lyn :) xxx Hi medusa :) Hiya crossy :D
romantic food is food made for a loved one by a loved one.it has no catagories as to the food itself, but is a food that the cook knows the recipient will love,or a food that brings back a fond memory.it is a food often cooked by hand with the best ingredients with time and care not normally given with everyday meals, ingredients may be tested and rejected many times till the perfect one is found and blended with the meal.it is a meal that an entire evening can be planned around and fretted over till every detail is perfect,it will say love, care and i am thinking of you with every bite, every nuance,it is a meal that says i am glad i am yours and you are mine.t is a food best eaten with candles for light.it is food to share as you perhaps feed each other bites over the the table .food that enhances and suspends time as you gaze into each others eyes and seeing your souls up front and ready to share or perhaps to give to another,it is food to talk about aftwerwards over a good glass of wine by the fire. it is food for love
hi crossy!
suze!! ((sprite))
hi crossy. i dont have you on my facebook
hi double U sue :)
just posted medusa
hi Cross, you romantic old fool you
hi sprite!
howdy lynxx.i am a fool indeed

wtg mom and hi all.back from beating my daughter at cards yet again :)she hate me, but what's new??
hi phan!
hey there, Sprite. How goes it
so these Ps are your fault then Phandmd
that's lovely crossy
how is your daughter doing, lilli?
hi lill :)
hi Lill
I guess so, Lynxxx
Hello all. Just starting. Here in the misty Northwest, temperatures are not too cool but not shirt sleeve weather either.
ba6/27 any clues
hi stid
hi Stigmere
am not a happy trouper right now, massive computer crash and a son who reclaimed his external hard drive to spite me when I said he couldn't go out tonight.
ba6 is a thief
Hi mdusa and lynxxxxxxxx.
ba6 an outlaw
hi stidgmere and maj and momo
hello
Oh dear, Sprite. Sorry for your troubles, especially the kids troubles.
PS when you get ba6 you will also get pa6
makes me sad. Thanks phan.
Hi sprite and momo. Haven't seen you for ages sprite so I'm doubly glad to catch up with you today.
tx lynxxx-looking the wrong way
she is doing really well thanks sue.she still gets a bit tired and her eye socket hurts her on and off, normally when it is cold and her head occasionally, but that is expected. she's happy to be back at school and seems to be doing really well there.thanks for asking
bummer, sprite, computer problems and kid problems are both really annoying, and to have them both together - ugh! Hugs to you!
Yes, kids have a way of making us sad.
thanks suze :)
hi gmere :)
external hard drives are very inexpensive now sprite.you can get a terra drive usb or usb 2.0 about the size of a deck of cards for around 100 dollars
hi gmere!
yes, children can push our patience to the limits sprite
Sometimes the routines of school can be a comfort to those needing to heal. I'm glad she likes school lilli.
Hi uu. Glad to be on the grid when you are here, too.
I know, crossy. But I was using his one, since it is late evening here and I cannot go out and buy one. It is not so much to ask to borrow it for one day, since he does not even use it.
too true, lill
now that my kid is 19,graduated,i have made it quite clear where the door is should the house rules bother him
that is mean spirited. :(
my son is 23 now and is getting to be quite human
acck! it takes that long suze??!
yeah. That is what makes me sad. Him being out to hurt me. Ah well, guess I better get used to it. A few more years of this to go, I fear.
My daughter, whom you know, uu, brings such joy to my heart.
they sent her home last week gmere as her eye socket was really hurting her, she could have taken some pain killers and just had time out from a class whilst they worked but i think they sent her home to cover there backs really, especially after everything she went through.i'm keeping an eye onit(no pun intended) and if it carries on i will take her to the hospital for an x-ray to see if the fracture is healing properly
yay for good kids
you must be very proud of her, gmere - she is working hard!
she fractured her orb ital bone lillian?
don't get too excited, crossy, he's not quite there yet :-)
how scary, lill. I hope she heals up fast and well.
hugs to you sprite, keep your head up and don't give in.
Good plan lilli. Yes, uu, she is never lazy and always has such innovative solutions to situations.
lilli's daughter was hit by a car, crossy, story in her profile
thanks phan :) Will do.
yes crossy and chipped a bone behind her eye, but luckily enough no operations needed.they said the fractures would heal by themselves over 5/6 weeks
omg! lillian!! my best to your daughter on a fast recovery
*healing vibes to lill's daughter*
lots of vibes
am gonna grab me some goodies (I hope there are some). Am leaving the whole email etc till tomorrow and am just going to enjoy my babble
she's definitely nearly there.they have said it could be upto 6 months because of her severe concussion but she has shocked and surprised all the doctors, police involved and happily, especially us.thanks for all your kind thoughts :)
(((((lilli)))))
i hope that my daughter grows up to be like stid gmere and i can be a very proud mam like you when she is her age.i am pvery proud of her now but there can be times when i'm not....but then she is 13 going on 30!!
but saying that, she is alive and with us and i seem to have more patience lately, probably because we could have so easily lost her and i now cherish every moment, but it doesn't stop her from winding me up at times.i think she thinks she'll get away with more now because of what she went through
ap6 pls
i don't have it yet peri, sorry
ap+an o word about orbits.
i think
back with a huge bowl of yoghurt and muesli
got it ty windingwake
hi spritey
hi peri :)
ty windingwake
yw
hi windingwake
i love muesli but hate yoghurt.i can just sit and eat muesli dry, i'm like that with alot of cereal
oh, how funny, lill. I cannot eat muesli or cereals with milk. I love them with yoghurt though.
hi sprite =)
my dad put me off yoghurts when i was at school as i had it in my pack lunch everyday for about 2 years.i'd try and swap it for a piece of fruit but no takers :)
ouch, that is not nice indeed. Lukewarm yoghurt... brrrr
i'll use natural yoghurt as long as it is cooked in something or used as a dip with loads of garlic.it did get a bit tedious sprite :)
I believe it! Ah yes, with garlic and parsley. So tasty.
I like yoghurt coated rasins.
sidenote: that bottom left corner is one heck of a waste of a good -ing ending
zooz! *hug* Yes, tasty too.
it sure is, sprite
Yes it is a stinker.
to5/14 is now another new shrub/tree to add to the collection
yes, it is definitely wasted sprite
hi zoom
36 left, bbl
*shakes grid expectantly*
I only said that as there is a PO4 there..lol
nice going, peri. See you later.
:) zooz
bfn peri
ttfn peri
there are some strange words in this grid....but i don't know why i'm so surprised as that's babble!
hi medusa
final rant: I have this beautiful backup of all my data, complete with details on how to reinstall everything. And the darn backup seems to be damaged!
babble: a whole lot of common words we overlook, some truly weird ones we type in right away, a plethora of words that should be valid but are not, and finally those words that are new, odd and impossible to think up by ourselves.
oh no.that is such a bummer sprite.i hope that you haven't lost too much and that hopefully you'll be able to get it all back
I hope so, lill. Must find someone who knows how to read a corrupt external harddrive.
fireworks
Congrats medusa!!
congrats medusa
wtg medusa!
well, hopefully you can
wtg medusa!
Might be an idea to google it, Sprite..sometimes it might be as easy as starting the computer in safe mode if you can.
hiya teach
ty. im now off coz i have had enough of this grid! lol. speak later. xxx
Congrats, Medusa.
bye medusa, have a nice evening
hi zooz, yes, tried all that. Had to make a new installation of windows, alas. And now it won't read my external drive with all my data.
bye nedusa, tc
good evening sprite - my computer crashed last Wednesday - have gone through all kinds of ups and downs since then
oh teach, it is a drag, isn't it!
working on a music festival comoing up next week and for about 2 - 3 hours thought i had lost everything - had not backed it up
omg... and? Did you manage to retrieve those data at least?
problem with the motherboard and USB ports - cannot print from this computer, cannot use mouse - not used to touch pad so don't like using it
What happens sprite when you plug the usb from your external hard drive into your computer?
oh that stinks :( Did you reinstall all drivers?
my husband retrieved them - my three priorities in retrieving things - first the festival files - then my emails (lots relating to the festival) - and then how can i get into babble
zooz: it sees it for a second, then says there is no such location available.
hehehe... good priorities, teach!
can only open in safe mode so cannot install anything - have looked at new computers - cheaper than replacing motherboard (almost) but will hold off until we get through next week - don't have time to deal with a new computer right now
indeed, teach. It takes way too much time.
Have my 100 words so will say goodbye for now.
bye stidgmere!
bye gmere.tc and hugs
fireworks!
wtg lill!
grats!
ty both
any clues needed before i go?
too many to ask still. Thanks, lill.
Not for me, but thanks, Lilliann.
Not unless you can tell me which of the 49 I'm still missing are words I should know, heh.
ok.well am away to make a valentines card for my daughter to give to her boyfriend.she chose the design and i'm making it :)
aw so sweet, lill. Have fun!
Sprite..click on start, control panel, systems, device manager...can you see the device in disk drives or in the usb device listings?
will do.bye all and tc(poof)
Bye, Lillian.
hold on, am trying to find it
yes I can see it there
Right click it and go onto properties..and see what it says.
it says: this device is working properly
but it is not
Thought it would..so at least you know the back-up data is safe..it has something to do with your main computer then.
trying to update the driver now...
oh... ok! So the data are safe? That is great.
I did a google of what you said to me at 4:08 and there is lots of information..but i have to keep coming off of babble and going to google..as i am using an xbox360...if you google your problem...there is plenty of helpful information for you.
have been doing so already, thanks a lot, zooz! *hug*
More than welcome, Spritey.
now it is time for crossy's tidbit of the day!! this one is for all you book lovers out there who have a spare closet that you may not be doing much with .......
http://tinyurl.com/b9zbvbw
now who would like that in the house?? lol
cozy!
I'm probably way behind the times on this, but have any of you watched the Chris P. Bacon videos on You Tube? So cute!
do not even know who chris bacon is,though he has a good last name
we have a ChrisP here as a player, if memory serves
That is such a breath of fresh air when these days, certain women of privilege are making closets out of entire rooms.
Crossy, consider his whole name
a 10 day old potbellied piglet, born with out the use of his hind legs. the new owner build a wheelchair using K'nex toys
hi molly, nrkii and jessmom
Kind of like I. P. Freely.
hi sprite... hi all!
aw jess, that sounds cute
hi sprite and everyone
howdy nrkii
I'm lurking, but the Chris P. Bacon thing was tough not to comment on.
This grid is a beast for me.
closets out of entire rooms?? omg
and Aluna Tick and Justin Case... and who is General Failure and why is he attempting to access my drive?
I can't seem to get the link to work, Crossy.
http://tinyurl.com/b9zbvbw
he's already outgrown two toy chairs, but is getting an official wheelchair soon - he is amazing with and without it!
I heard on the radio this morning about someone in California who had put an escalator in their 3 story closet
I have to write it down..can not cut & paste..lol
will remember, jessmon, and look it up soon
I like that, Crosy..i want one..lol
my beloved also wants one
such a nice idea. A cozy place to read
Well when your son does eventually leave the nest..you can make one for her :-;
i would have the hinge plates reset so the door opens out .that way you can rehang the door when needed and tell the world to go to hell and close it when you want quiet
lol
tonight I must admit to briefly wishing my son would leave the nest. I so long to have peace back in our home.
lol crossy, yes, that would be perfect
wife and i already have plans for his room:)
Oh dear..i take the progress made, Sprite..has taken a few steps back.
a day bed.book shelves.one of my antique radios in there playing some good music a nice green floor plant, candles a few antiques
Sounds good crossy!
am afraid so, zooz. He didn't get permission to go out tonight, and in response took away his external drive that I was borrowing to backup some computer data, since I had a massive crash.
I could do without the music. Peace and quiet, and then reading the hours away :)
mm.i would be inclined to padlock is room and make him sleep on the couch
Oh thats not very nice..Sorry to hear that, Sprite..teenagers can be very hard to deal with...hang in there ((Sprite))
sometimes i like soft music playing in the background, though my mrs likes it deathly quiet when reading
yeah, my love said something similar. He was just finished with repairing Tim's bike. He suggested putting a padlock on the bike and make him walk.
thats a good idea also
thanks zooz :) My babble buddies already make me feel better again.
but then it turns into a tit for tat thing and is not good
that is what I said too, crossy. No use getting down to his level. I hope some day he will learn. ;)
my son is now in the annoying habit of staying up all night and sleeping the day away:((
argh crossy, that is not good either.
so,i got him a year long membership to the ymca to entice him to experience daylight hours
very good. And since he is living in your house, can't you give him tasks?
chores, I mean?
oh he has tasks.he just wakes up at 5pm,does his tasks and stays up all night:(
not easy, crossy :(
it is a phase, and harmless for now,but he is going to get his butt out there to look for a job
Well, at least I got fireflies. That is a good thing ;)
You are being a great mother, Sprite...i am sure in time your son will see how silly he has been behaving at times....and maybe...one day you will all be able to laugh at it.
yes, a job would be the best remedy
*hugs zooz* Thank you! I really needed to hear that.
WTG Sprite!
barring that ,sprite, when the time is right the wife and i will just move out and leave him the house lol
hahahaha!
Wonder how long before the polace would look like a tip, Crossy...lol
*Place.
my friend did that, had 2 daughters, one son, both girls moved back in when 20,ish and pregnant WITH BOYFRIENDS IN TOW and set up house in finished basement.son moved back at 25 into his old room.my friend looked around one day, talked with his mrs and sold the house to his son for one dollar.they packed what they wanted and just left and got a nice little loft apt for themselves down by the water
I am off for now, dear babble friends. *hugs* from me to you. And thanks for letting me vent and for picking me up.
smart friend
Take care, Sprite...hope your hard drive is up and running soon.
tc ((sprite)) and have a good night
lol, zooz, once iwe move out,it is not our problem,he can lay in here on a mound of trash
and we will get a cozy 5-900 sq foot open concept place so there is no moving in for anyone!
He would soon grow up fast...get a job for one thing...paying bills etc...he would soon realize how much parents did for him..lol
they do learn..eventually
I am sure most of us have been there at some level..lol
I must admit..i was a lazy git when i was about 14...would sleep for most of the weekend.
we were all that age once, though i never moved back in with a pregnant girlfriend
in tow*
No..i would find that a strain to be honest.
and my friend and his wife who leaft the kids the house? they look great! they look 30 instead of 50.they smile.take long walks go away for weekends at the drop of a hat..sigh
Alas, not many people can afford to just give their home to their kids and go buy something else.
true ,molly
Good for them..sounds like a lot of weight of responsability has been lifted from them.
hi all, back to find my last 35 words.
it is your turn, crossy
though i think they just rent.they say it is easy after dealing with 25 years of grinding mortgage payments
i think the old home has ten years of payments left on it,so all those kids should be able to finish it off ok
ok peri
I made a really good vegetarian curry for dinner
your turn peri
k
crossy does not like curry:(
I want to finish babble first tho, crossy
I love curry
25 years of house payments down the drain with nothing to show for it. Ouch.
yup,but they were still paying a mortgage, feeding all those people and paying house upkeep and repairs.2 couples,2 babies and a single son.got expensive
because when they were there, everyone gravitated upstairs for a freebie meal made by mom of course
You come into this world with nothing..and you will leave with nothing.
and gallons of moms laundry soap, hot water bills? what hot water? lol
lol,2 60 gallon tanks in the basement and they could not keep up
It's hard to imagine anyone putting up with that kind of free loading.
the ole hydro meter was spinning off the side of the house
they save thousands renting the apt loft.it is amazing
Anyone have a clue for the oo5?
ot 5/12
common babblet
I wonder how the kids are making the mortgage payment and living expenses if none of them work.
well,in the end they did not, molly.once the babies were born and at least 2 of the adults had jobs, the parents made their move
Huh, I dno't think I've seen that one before. ty for the clue though, "common babblet" told me I wasn't looking for a real word at least =)
np ww
i do not go near the place now, though the eldest son worked with me for a bit.it is a madhouse
FW. I am off to play WwF. byeee
Congrats, Peri.
Hmm, I thought she was playing Words With Friends while she was playing this.
your turn peri
ap 6,pls
AP + vowel + the grass is always *r**ner on the otherside.
ge 6/24?
Same start as the 7, ends in double vowel.
Some hindu word.
male + double vowel.
thank you--I would never have found it...
ty
yw
ty all cluers:))
Hi all - interesting definition of ge 6 / 24 - I thought it was a breed of penguin :)
Helo, Liz.
Hi zooz - is it warming up in the UK yet?
Not really..little bit of snow today but nothing much...about 6c at the moment.
Hows it going where you are, Liz?
Hopefully not too long before spring. Lovely here - around 27 C most days. Little humidity.
Well the crocus flower is starting to bloom so yes spring is just around the corner :-)
Used to love seeing crocuses popping up through the snow - could do without the snow, though!
I get so jazzed when I see crocus. It's like Lady Spring saying "Hi". : )
We are having what I call back and forth weather here. Yesterday sunny and Spring like, tonight, wet sleety stuff is falling.
Made me all nostalgic. Just looked back at some photos from April 08, taken from our London house, of blossom in snow!
Hopefully tomorrow Spring-like, Molly!
hic!
We are in the getting warmer, staying light longer part of the year, so I am happy. : )
up
Hi jmc! Cheers!
Yes i do like it when the days grow longer.
Hello, Jmc.
I used to love it when the nights got longer - sitting outside until about 10.00. We don't get long nights here :( The latest it's light is about 7.30 :(
hi all
killing time until my online class about marketing
At the height of summer here..i think it is about 10:30pm it gets dark.
IoW - further south than London - can't really remember how late it was at the latest!
Babble - killing time?????!!!!!!!!
no drinking killing time. . . .
Should be nearly the same...only about 100 miles maybe between them..and a stretch of water of course.lol
Ahhhh! hic, indeed!
Hence the Hic!
of course time gets its knickers in a twist whenever you say you are killing it. .. .
Poor time! How is it with flying?
i hope i am sober enough to say something intelligent in class!
Any more thoughts about the final square in the flag??
ever read the phantom tollbooth?
Used to read it to the kids at school - many years ago! Great book!
lots of suggestions today liz. . .i think tomorrow when i download adobe creative suites i will do the next version of the flag
later classes didn't appreciate it though, so I stopped reading it.
ilove that book. . . that is where the comment about time getting annoyed came from (forgive the dangling participle)
Think i've still got my copy of it somewhere!
me too and the rather bad 1970s film on vhs!
ep 4 confused me! I've only ever seen it with a final h!
oh! a good friend of mine in his 80s if a day just contacted me through linkedin!
I'd forgotten about the film! I think I showed that to the kids too.
JMC may take her ph7 tollbooth to the PB bar with her.
haha odd that. . . *looks in cupboards in pb for more jack*
I did notice that but let it slip through because it was such a good reference!
anyone else care for some?
Prefer a good scotch - but not at this time in the am!
Single malt, of course!
i find it interesting how words in the grid so often come up in conversation when they have not come up in conversation for weeks on end!
I'm good with my Irish thanks. I'm being very "retired Catholic" and drinking on Ash Wednesday. : P
hi there..cn
how about a bloody mary? or a screwdrive? both good morning drinks
can anyone help me with ba7,44?
Enjoy! i think I'll stick with coffee for now!!!
someone said irish whiskey?? crossy hold out glass and lays on the puppy dog eyes....
so it is. . . i miss my hubby coming to me to say he tried to wipe a smudge off someone's forehead
Hi Crossy - good to see you out of lurk!
ba7=forbid+roman X+om*!
hi shoos
howdy liz:))
Hi also shoos :)
ty for ba 7 jmc
Dirty Forehead day.
will Clontarf do?
Funny how the hour clock change back in October has altered who I see here!
every year he would come to the office laughing at himself. . . but he was raised unitarian before the quaker thing so little wonder
Clue for the first ge 5 please.
yw crosy . .. ah my class starts. . .bbl
Enjoy the class :)
i hardly see any aussies at this time.mostly see them when they are 3 sheet to the wind in my morning time when they are about to hit the sack
*Wonders how many Catholics went and got more ashes after Helpful Mr. JMC removed theirs* : D
GE5 ge + most of the flying bug that goes towards the light.
That's what's happened. Used to see you for an hour before sleepy time! Now I usually miss you. i guess most Aussies at work now!
*carefully pours jack into coffee cup so class doesn't see*
Yeah an no kidding about that three sheets to the wind thing.
ty zooz :) Going the wrong way, as usual!
JMC has a sippy cup!
crossy is thankful that he is not commanded or restricted by any sect.do not get me wrong.i have always had a place for god in my heart,it is just some of the fan clubs out there are a little...off
LOL
stop molls i need not to crack up with the video conference on!
Wonders if they can see what jmc's fingers are typing???
i turned off the cam because i didn't need to make a complete fool of myself
no thank god liz!
I never had a problem with the ashes thing. A small reminder to be humble and that we are mortal before Lent begins.
:) Coward!!!!!!
i am sure there is a toasty place in hell reserved for crossy anyways
my hubby didn't either . . . he just forgot
and i am also sure that there will be no bacon available there;(
i is a coward . . .i is!
But you'd have the fire for cooking!!!
I'm sure you're not!
Lots of tofu though.
there must be bacon in hell!
yup,lots of tofu,no booze
Ok time for bed for me..take care, All...hope it goes well for you, Jmc :-)
But possibly, Crossy, as I don't eat bacon, in my hell there'd be plenty there for you! Come and join me - bring the Mrs too!
tc zooz
Near beer. Aarrrggghhh.
sigh i really must pay attention to this class. . .really. . . i am going now. . . really
Sleep well zooz :)
lol,tc jmc
bye zooz
Bye jmc :)
bye all!
yes! hell is liberally stocked with near beer
*poof*
warm near beer
UK beer then?
lol ,liz, tbh i prefer many of the german beers
I also prefer a lager style beer!
but it is not my tipple of choice
Harp : )
crossy prefers ales
harp is nice
I'd've thought the UK ones would be just up your street then.
Harp and a shot of Jameson. Irish & Irish.
and the entire sleeman micro brewery line is excellent
Back to your roots!
no,liz, many of the u.k brews are too thick and heavy for crossy
<--Thinks her ancestors probably drank bootleg.
Theakston's Old Peculier - not too thick or heavy according to hubby, who loves these ales.
<--Does not want to drink old, peculiar beer. : O
Not a spelling mistake!!!! Actually I've never drunk it, as I don't like ale that much but it's pretty well rated.
hi
Hi Harry :)
beer! now there's a temporary solution!
I prefer a warm flat IPA
Back later to finish the final 20 words. Enjoy the evening :)
just got halfway :) this is a slow grid for me today
ipa??? ewww.if i wanted water,i would ask for water
oof! If I wanted dinner, I'd eat! not drink some oatmeal or stout or freakin barleywine
and while I'm complaining, why isn't apemen a word?
<--Agrees with Harry about the oatmeal, stout and barley stuff. And don't get me started on Blue Moon.
69. time for me to list this baby.
Herbs and orange peel in beer. GACK.
steve martin had a baby
*shocked* how did that work biologically?
:P
Ha! Guess who is not paying attention in class.
shhhhh!
is ba7 related to ba6?
Not at all
i just turned off my webcam. . . the discussion of service in the healthcare industry re: customer satisfaction has left me bored.
besides i ran out of jack. . . .
There is customer service in the health care industry? You could have fooled me.
ba7 i clued earlier
*earlier
I'd have thought that putting an O after the ba6 would be a nice word. but noooo
so the classmate says. . . something called aidet and a need to tell everyong who you are. . . .
Good evening Babblers
hi wht. . .
clue for the ap6 please
Good evening everyone! :)
Hi Kyle
I hope everyone has had a good day!
Harry, do you have any more information about the child Steve Martin be5,18?
ap6 means the top of the heap. it was a s/w company in the 90s which made a great game called castle wolfenstein
I have had a reasonably good day. Of course, after last weekend, any day I don't have to shovel snow counts as a good day.
I understand completely wht!
http://omg.yahoo.com/blogs/celeb-news/\nsteve-martin-welcomes-first-child-67-r\neport-173218379.html
baby is already a couple months old, and they managed to keep it a secret
and when I say 90s, I mean 80s.
hi need help with ge6,24 please
I didn't think they could keep secrets in Hollywood.
he's a heck of a banjo player
ty Harry. I finally got the ap6, It is the most distant point in an orbit.
yeah - I though it also meant like an apex in general
That was fireworks for me. But I did most of the grid while I was lurking at work today.
hooray wht
WTG wht!
ba7 please?
break time
whoo hoo wht!
B + a bet in a card game + 2/3 of the gerund ending.
thanks wht
ty wht
Work lurker!
Hi Molly
good clue wht
I suspect that there are a fair number of us in Babblonia
do i have your email wht? so I can send you my phone #?
ty jmc. I had to think about it a bit.
You can reply to the email I sent you before. Or I can send you one now.
i certainly babbled a lot at work. . . my staff used to make fun of me laughing outloud
wht, looks like we're moving to your area
now. . .alas. . .no job so no babbling at work
Oh, tell me more. With your Hood Milk logo, I figured you were from the area anyway.
jmc, I just emailed you my e-mail and cell #.
we're in new haven, but my wife may accept a job in billerica
That will put you in the neighborhood. I live in Arlington.
we'll probably look in the newton/brookline area. mortgage ourselves out of business.
okay thanks wht. . . bbl
Well, you could always look in Dover or Weston if you wanted pricier digs.
need to take some trips up and look around. we'll see. it's all rather overwhelming at this point.
It is a lot to think about in a short time.
Do you have kids?
5
so it's a large undertaking
That is a houseful.
or 2.
One of the advantages we found living in Arlington was that it avoided a lot of the schlepping kids around. They could walk or take the MBTA to a lot of places.
Of course, we also discovered well after the fact, that it meant they could skip school and spend the day in Harvard Square too.
the house prices are about triple what they are here.
hah!
in5/14 please?
a hunk of gold, cos
I can imagine. Our oldest is looking to buy their first house and Arlington is not really in their price range, and it is less expensive than some of the towns around us.
thanks wht
medford is cheaper, but it's kind of icky.
Parts of Medford are nice. I don't know how the schools are.
maybe quincy?
a big dump truck just passed by filled with...snow!
Quincy would be a hike to Billerica.
we have room down here for the snow
I think the commute from south of the city is terrible
sorry since i grew up in texas it looks close to me
Especially to north of the city.
boston sounds like a traffic nightmare
Well, we are not all used to driving 50 miles to get to the drug store.
It depends where you are. The secret is get a reverse commute.
I walk. . . .
When we first moved here, my wife worked in East Boston which was 7 miles, and I worked in Westboro which was 35 miles, and our commute times were about the same. 45 minutes.
wow
the first pe6 please
jmc, should I bring some snow down with me when I come>?
never mind!
sure. . .there have been flurries but thats all
4 left
Patent
to 7 please
ty mkg. . . there is lemonade in the pb
So for any of you Washington area Babblers, I will be in Washington on Sunday for the Forward on Climate rally and afterwards I am planning on meeting up with jmc for dinner. Any Babblers are welcome to join us.
got that already, mkg - try again
Sorry. Using I pad and it moves ....
cos - males who use kitchen implements to grab hot coals.
thanks harry... 1 left...
we are thinking about jaleo on 7th street
fireworks
yay cos
whooo hoooo cosd!
thanks all for your help!
wtg cos
bo6/24?
nm!
I just read about the kid on Teen Jeopardy. "Who is some guy in Normandy"...I love it!
ge6?
any clues for at9/60
ge6...same first 4 as the 7 before it, ends in double vowel.
yom kippur, or an ian mcewan novel
ge6 is, among other things, the name of a Linux distribution.
<--Thanks God she does not rely on Wht for clues.
Well, I would have added a less obsure clue but you provided that, Molly.
ty for the ge
nm found the 9
: P
And I suspect that there might be some people here geeky enough to get it.
oh. I thought I gave a rather clever clue for the 9 :)
Harry, I thought it was a good clue.
my son is a linux user and got it earlier
I was a unix geek back in the 80s, but have left my korn shell behind, and am now firmly in the wysiwyg world
how about te6?
*Stares with dull, vacant eyes as the conversation turns to computer geekdom*
Sounds like the woman who opened a software store on the Cape. She sells C shells by the sea shore.
I wrote my dissertation in LaTeX
<--Not giving anymore "less obscure" clues
The only criterion for the quality of a clue is, did it allow the person who asked, figure out the word.
*Sits in the dummies section to observe*
If it brings a smile to those who already have the word, it is a bonus.
Molly, you cannot call yourself a dummy, since you usually have finished the grid long before I have.
do not worry about computers, molly, that is why we are here to get rid of you crapola and viruses and charge 20 dollars per hour for the effort;)
Also, not saying one word about Harry and his Latex. Who knew?
:)
Some things you are better off not knowing, Molly.
No one charges me 20 dollars an hour. One of my best friends is into computer forensics and does all my computer work for free.
DONE
wtg Harry
congrats Harry
Hooray for Latex Harry!
now there'a a nickname.
gnight all
Good Night Harry.
anyone have the ba 7?
ba 7 - to forbid + Roman numeral X + consonant (not my clue but hope it helps)
Wht, give your ba7 clue again. It was the best one I've seen all day.
Hi again :)
Too late.
thank you liz
yw
i'm striking out on the ge 7 and the following ge 6 too?
class done
om 6 pl
ba7=forbid+roman X+OM*!!
ge 6 - a breed of penguin - or male + double vowel and ge 7 - often followed by the word violet
How was the class mmc?
jmc - sorry!
somewhat entertaining. . . all i ask of a class
What else?
ge6 the kind of penguin that Mr. Popper had
could you ask, I mean?
i talked about the sexism i faced as a yound attorney and of course the 20+s were shocked. . . shocked I tell you
Ha!
They've no idea - how things have changed? Or have they?

ah well it was not the whole song. . .but i will spare you you lost that lovin' feeling then. . . .
i missed the three dogs night thing
I would rather hear you sing it than Tom Cruise any day.
Woa that loving feeling.....
See, see what you've done? Gah.
lol
haha i am probably more soulful than tom cruise. . .
Nice job, jmc
It's like Karaoke night after six rounds of drinks have been served.
you know this one: Hihi ha mama, hi-a-ma sat si pata
Give yourself more credit than that. Comatose people are more soulful than Tom Cruise.

Be well, jmc
i never have found the ge7 even after numerous clues...
syb, g7, the opposite to a lady, ****leman + man's name. or ge7 violet
ty rose, I was trying to add dan as the man's name
now I get it
np's chrissie. and how are you?
Been better rose, how are you
doing well. just back from 2 weeks in tasmania. was superb. am well rested and ready for another 6 months work. lol. have you been unwell, hun?
Yes, had op last august and am on 6 months chemo now. Weekly treatments are taking their toll but the end is in site, will be finished in April
2 weeks in tasmania sounds lovely. Need to plan a holiday for later this year
*in sight
lone i on next to last column
love and prayers winging their way to you now. and i also read in your profile re your mum. it's so devastating when a parent dies. i still weep for my dad.
It4/5
Thank you rose. It was mum's birthday yesterday. When did you lose your dad?
ty
yw syb
chrissie, can i please say something to you? i never said it to my dearest friend and she died.
Yes, please do
please, please, if they say you need another bout of chemo, don't argue.
dad died 10 years ago. it was so quick, we didn't have time to say goodbye. from diagnosis it was only 6 weeks.
OK, I'll do whatever it takes
Gosh, was it a cancer?
clue for oo5?
atta girl. just take whatever they offer you. my friend was very wilful, and managed to convince her doctor that she didn't really need her second lot of treatment. to this day i wonder what would have happened if she had taken the second lot of chemo.
cray, oo + neat and ***y
That's so sad
whew, ty rose
yes, chrissie, it was cancer. he left it too late.poor fellow, he must have been in agony, anf he never let on.
Mum was similar, she died suddenly and we thought it was heart failure. Post mortem revealed she died of widespread cancer. She would't have wanted to know though, so her peaceful passing was a blessing
So sorry rose
well, just you fight back, hun. my mail addy is in my profile. if you ever need someone to talk to, i'll be there.
Thank you
Gonna give up on this grid now and try to get some sleep. Good night all.
hope you sleep well, hun. maybe i'll see you again soon.
Hi again - 6 to finish off!
hey liz
Hi Rose - are you back at work yet?
Could I get a clue for ba7/44, please?
not til next monday, li
* liz *
That's great! Long holiday - well needed for both of you :)
ba 7 / 44 - to prohibit + Roman number X + om* !
ba7, ba + opposite of south( first letter only) + number after 9 + *ood, opposite to bad
Clues for po 6 / 21 and 7 /32 please - been looking for ages!
liz, add compass direction to po5
Thanks got it
Sorry - wrong po 6 - looking for the last 2 x po words
ahh, the next po6. once u*** a time + heavy weight
po7, has a double vowel in it
po7 = name of a card game or a floating landing stage. Hi all.x
hey jac
ty! Optional spelling to the double vowel I guess!
Couldn't see them for looking!!!!
Lizlin - the single vowel version is French.
well they are twisty words, oing around and around
ty Jacula :)
* going * really, i must cut my nails, lol
I always miss that top left corner!
y/w, Lizlin.
See you later Rose :)
You're babbling very early Jacula!
later liz
grannyrose - don't cut your nails - you might need them to claw your way through the next grid! Who knows what the antiquated version of Enable will throw at us?
I'm Babbling very late, Lizlin. I finished the grid hours ago but a family event kept me up late and so I came in to have a nose.
fireworks :)
Seems like a good idea to me!
Thanks to all who've helped with clues.
chrissie,am i reading right in that you are freshly diagnosed with cancer?
Well done, Lizlin. *~*~*~*~*
Having said that, I did prune my fingernails earlier...
mm,she may be gone to bed.hope she takes treatments
Crossy - she did say she was off to bed.x
Just scrolled back to see where she was when you mentioned her, btw.
i would not be sitting here today if i did not agressivly go after treatments for my 3 cancers
I know that, Crossy, and I agree with you. Lying down and giving up is NOT an option.x
and no birch bark soup or accupressure either.give me those chemicals right in the veins brother!
I'd hate to lose my hair, but losing my life would be far worse. x
A great role model for persevering with it however hard it seems :)
lol, during my second cancer,i lost ALL my hair all of it legs, arms eyebrows, all of it,go so i squeaked when i walked and chaffing? ouch.thank god for talc powder hehe
But as you said, you're here now and a great advocate for getting on with it :)
yes,being dead really,really sucks
Talc is a daily part of my life after a shower. Don't chuck it all around, just in the nooks and crannies that need it.
Being dead is not good.
Esp with no bacon in your hell!!!! LOL!
with my first cancer,i went from diagnosis to operation in less than a week:)
yes,must have bacon
I wish it was that quick for everyone diagnosed - no time to dwell on it!
Could I get a clue for te6, please?
yes,it is not being dead that bother ne it is laying still for so long in that tiny coffin
That wouldn't happen here in UK, crossy. It would take a minimum of 3 months. I despair of our once great NHS.
our med system has it's faults, but i waited for NOTHING with my cancers
Not sure how to clue that well - t + for example + males
Good one, got it, thanks
laughed like hell when the oncologist opened up his desk drawer and rolled a prosthetic nut over to me to look at though:))
I think that the NHS has worked pretty quickly with friends of mine, who've been diagnosed with cancer.
Did the oncologist laugh too?
Marc - it's a botany word. Te* (a 2-year-old sheep) + a word for males.
he did when i asked him if i could get a pair the size of tennis balls
LOL!!!!
Liz - your clue was good. Better than mine, I think.
ty!
miss ole lefty though.we had many grand adventures.the oncologist said i could not have him back.was going to keep him in a jar of formaldehyde.would of been a great conversation starter at parties hehe
I like to7 - the males who might straighten your hair.
lol.getting goofy.time for bed.goodnight my friends
crossy - they were yours and you should have demanded trem back! I was going to ask for my womb and ovaries had the total hysterectomy suggested 15 years ago gone ahead.
I wanted to have a look at the place my kids had grown in.
Sleep well, Crossy :)
Anyway, if you go with how the ancient Egyptians did death, you don't know which bit you might need in the afterlife. Though I do wonder how their brains might have worked again after having been pulled out through their nostrils.
I was happy for them to keep mine, Jacula.
'Night Crossy. x
om6, please?
o + me 5 /12
Lizlin - I've still got mine. Surgeon died of a heart attack before op could take place.
om6/21 = an anatomical word. Double fold that holds stomach in place.
Best thing I did getting rid of mine! Had cyst the size of 4.5 month foetus! Also mum died of ovarian cancer!
Thanks I will look for it
Liz - weren't you interested in having a look after removal, though?
Too many aches and pains over the years! Good riddance! And definitely did not feel less a woman!
Actually, it never occurred to me!
Probably would've been interesting though but still, no regrets!
Marc - it's an anagram of 'mean to' or 'no mate'.
Lizlin - guess I'm just weird then! lol
augur + Brit thanks
No - if it'd been suggested by someone, then perhaps I would because it is interesting but it just didn't happen.
Hi BR :)
Hello BR.
Hello
BR - I'd say 'How are you today?' but that sounds awfully American and, being awfully British, I can't bring myself to say it. So, are you okay?
Or, in terms we do here in UK when passing in the street, 'Orlroit?'
I can just hear that "Orlroit" being said - so true!
another day ... no acute distress
at9, please?
Orlroit is a Birmingham and Black Country term here in UK which means 'Alright?' What it actually means is, 'Hello! How are you today? Are you all rigfht?' But no one really wants to know the full answer unless they know you well.
Nice to chat Jacula - BBL
See yo again, Lizlin.
Marc - at9 is the title of a film with Keira Knightley in it.
If you sin, you might later make at9 for it.
got it thanks
Well done, Marc.
BR - glad to hear your day is going okay. x
Sorry but I need ap6, please?
Marc - ap6 is an astronomy word. Sounds a bit like you're saying sorry to someone. ap vowel and then *** whizz!
Thanks got it
y/w, Marc.
Btw, Marc. Please don't apoligise for asking for clues. That's what the chog was originally designed for!
*apologise, I meant to type.
I know but I feel I ask for too many
My last word added today was the wild ox (ba7/44). A loud noise with a roman 10 in the middle.
That was a bit around and about, wasn't it? Sorry! There is no 'x' in the word.
Marc - you ask for as many as you need. Don't worry about it. You don't need things spelled out so what's the problem?
thanks
I'm off to bed in 10 mins. Ask now if you need!
If I've gone, I've no doubt some other stalwart will step into the breech.
ad21, please?
ad + boys name
ad 6/21?
yes
ad6/21 is a biology word meaning attached to.
Does it work off of the ad4 before it?
ad + what Nathan and Nathaniel are often called for short.
No, Marc, it doesn't work off the mine working word before it.
Anagram of 'and tea'.
got it thanks
Have a great night
Oh early morning for you
5.07am here in UK.
OK two more da5 and da6, please?
da5 there are none.
sorry di5 and di6
di6/24 = two at**s (see at4).
di5 = one of you fingers or toes.
thanks I will go look for them
I'm off to bed now. Hope you finish the grid, Marc. x
marc, i'm still here if you need a hand
Don't get the two di clues?
Hi all. I need two to finish and get my weary body into bed. ba7 and ge6. Any clues?
