:D
jilli hates it when I pun.. wait till she meets me in person
hey Erda.. want to meet us in the City in April
Oh, is Erda near SF?
she's in the East Bay.. not far
I am not in the best of health right now, so I am not making any advance plans. Ply me with details, when you get them...
oh.. that's too bad.. erda.. are you okay/
Erda, ruru, kje and I are meeting on Sunday, April 28
hanging on...
Where will you be meeting?
sorry, erda! Get better!
we're going to have lunch somewhere and then I'm going to show JIlli and Kje around sf a bit
KJE is buying lunch. :D
I'll be moving from the Mark Hopkins to the Renaissance that day -- too complicated to explain here.
not sure.. some good restaurant near the embarcadero I'd bet
Sounds great! Enjoy! I'll follow your progress, just in case my health improves. Or I get a diagnosis, whichever comes first...
ruru -- I'll be having a farewell brunch with the wedding party! Can we make it dinner?
*hoping for Boulevard*
we'd love to meet you erda.. I hope you get better
I'd love to meet you too, erda.
ruru -- please note what I said about that brunch!!! I guess I should have sent the schedule to kje!
I'd love to met you guys too! Fingers crossed...
oh. I think KJE was counting on Lunch.. I'll have to write to her
we'll make it work one way or the other jilli.. you are in such high demand
Well, a late lunch might be ok, but dinner would be much better -- she doesn't need to buy -- dutch is fine!
I'm probably going to stay in SF that day too.. so dinner is fine with me
50 down all the 7+s, nbt, nbs, mediocrity ascendant. 'nite, I got work in the am!
[poof]
night melon.. good night all.. i'm going to go read
It's just that I haven't seen my cousin, the mother of the groom, since she was about 15 -- never met her husband or daughters, so I hope to have lots of time to get acquainted.
well you haven't met me either :D
maybe we can go to Cotogna for dinner
well, that's why Sunday after brunch is reserved for you, ruru -- and kje.
I'd need to work on rezzies now
Wow! This is exciting!
check out cotogna on line jilli
I have to leave at the crack of dawn the next day -- flight leaves at 10:47 am so I have to be there 2 hours ahead of that, I'm told.
I'll do that, ruru *going to Google...
two hours? wow.. you'd have to get up at 5:30
maybe I can drive you to the airport
Yeah, 5:30 am makes me cringe. I see Cotogna has a Sunday Supper menu -- looks great!
haven't decided where I'll stay in sf
you could get up later if I have time to drive you to the airport jilli
Ooh, a drive to the airport would be wonderful.
I know some backi route
routes
routes
ruru, you're a prince.
okay.. i'm heading to bed.. good night
goodnight, sweet prince!
I can get you to the airport in 30-40 minutes
night
I wondered how long a drive it is. I was told to take the BART to the hotel -- does that sound right?
well, I'm off to bed too after I get a couple more words and halfway
and that's it...*poof
Could I get a clue for yi5, please?

Hello all!
Some? !
Hello,All..first run done & 23 left.
and back...hey zoom and glitzy
Hello, Rose..how are you?
doing okay, thanx for asking. am up to 9 hour shifts now.and you, mate?
I am plodding along thanks..9 hours that is very good..i think that is long enough though..lol...would not want to do more.
marc, did you ever get the third re? eye related, recolor, and stop working
lol....just need to add one more hour. but it won't be for a few weeks yet. am taking it very slowly.
It is great that you can do 9 hours, Rose..well done for that.
grrr...itty, bitty, shitty griddy
lol...Good Morning ( Evening ) everyone :)
ooh did you get out of the bed the wrong side, Smores :-)
ah, thanx zoom. it's a bit hairy at the moment. my immediate superior is on annual leave....i am running the recovery room in our new operating suite. there is so much to organise....
Nah...I'm okay zooz :)
Yes i remember you saying something about glass walls so you can see people in the operating theatre or something like that...has anything been done about that?
Wow rose...so much for taking it easy heh?
Yay..good to hear, Smores!
plus, as i am the imprest drug nurse for the suite, EVERYONE, including the unit manager turns to me for all things drug related. and i am expected to carry my own load of patients.
Then i think 9 hours is more than enough then.
*giggle* we have a new saying at work, zooz. 'ducks on the pond' meaning anyone who is not part of the nursing/medical team.
these workers seemed to think they can meander wherever they like. not any more, i can tell you. my patients privacy and security comes first.
You need one now for thing going on that really should be seen through a glass wall
:)
Now that is good to hear, Rose..privacy i feel is so important when you are not at your best.
*shakes head* it's amazing, smores. there is no respect for what patients are going through...sometimes i think i'm shouting into the wind
zooz, i am a very strong patient advocate. these people cannot protect themselves. as a nurse i have to stand firm.
I can imagine...whoever thought that would be a good idea must not of ever been hospitalized themselves.
If i eber become so il i need hospital treatment.i am coming over to yours, Rose :-)
good morning everyone.i am glad you are there to knock heads, grannyrose.some people in medicine can get jaded and end up treating patients like nothing but a breathing piece of meat
eber= Ever.
Hello, Crossy.
Morning crossy :)
howdy,zooz
howdy,smores
{{{crossy}}}} so lovely to see you.
((granny))
And fireworks for me.
btw, today is my birthday. i turned 61 years old, and have been thoroughly spoilt by hubby, mother mac and my sister-in-law. and several emails from brothers and sons. i am so bleesed.
yaaa for zooz!
WTG ZOZZOOM!!!
WTG zooz!!! :)
Happy Birthday, Rose...hip hip horaay!

happy birthday granny!
Awww.....Happy Birthday Rose !! :D
Thats ok, Rose..any nice name will do.i was supposed to call myself zoomzoom..but typical of me i spelt it wrong..lol
thanx you all. apart from working, it has been a grand day.
lol...that's funny zooz
we call our car zoomzoom ;)
crossy, is it a mazda?
nope,a toyota, but that is what my son called it when growing up as he saw thosw mazda commercials
lol, wondered
Ok time for Iron sudoku..take care, all..hope the rest of your birthday goes well for you , Rose..bye.
Bye zooz...enjoy your day :)
thanx zooz. have a good one, mate
hard to believe he was only 8 when we bought the car.have to love the longevity of toyotas;))
tc zooz
yeah, that's nice crossy
i can testify to that, crossy. am an avid toyota fan myself.
well, granny, when we were buying i did my research, paid a bit more for this and am reaping the rewards now.thing is all paid off and still has another ten years in her
my corolla was written off 2 years ago following a hail storm, with hailstones the size of grapefruit.
i looked at hondas, kias and hyundais in this same class size and price point and toyota was the winner for less repairs and durability
well, even a toyota cannot deal with hail the size of grapefruits
Wow rose, that's some big hal
i now have a yaris, which has been giving some of the other cars a run for their money. it loves to be driven hard, that and the short gear box. it goes like stink.
Ugh! 87 Words! Babble universe wants me to get shit done today, I guess. Good morning everyone!
car!!
Hi!
lol...yep
Hiya car
my echo is solid as a rock
hey car!!!
Hi! Hi!
I used the sh word when I 1st saw the grid too :D
We are on a 2hour delay, did you get snow car?
and now it is time for crossy's tidbit of the day!!
No, thank goodness! I think later today.
Some species of birds, like the robin, can only lay one egg a day. To ensure that all the eggs in the clutch hatch around the same time, the female will let the earlier eggs "cool" in the nest between layings so as to let the "fresher" eggs catch up.
Birds are so amazing!
wow...pretty cool
awww, gee thanx crossy, don't know how i would have got through the week without that knowledge....LOL
as car says, birds are amazing
you will never know when something like that will come in handy, granny
Stats for the Y and the left side G please?
yi5/16
Hi Molly!
ge8/60
besides, would rather post something cute like that than the fact than n korea can now target the white house with nukes
*giggle* like when i am doing the general knowledge crossword on sunday?
crossy, that's very scary, mate

have you been keeping an eye on what is happening over here in our government?

Got the Yi! TY! Does the GE have to do with being older?
it's a three ring circus....
ge8, someone who studies the structure of the earth
lol,granny,most governments are
No Car, think rocks.
Ok. Was going the wrong way with it.
ty.got it was also going the wrong way at first
crossy, i truely despair for our nation...well i guess, if you pay peanuts, you get monkeys....except their salaries could not be called peanuts by any stretch of the imagination.
most of ours have what we call golden retirement parachutes, granny.they only have to serve 4!! years and are then entitled to a full fat pension for life!
on our taxes of course
well that's just gross, crossy. and what about the rest of the plebs? the ones who work for 40-50 years......
exactly, plebes, serf, minions,we toil to make the grease for the machine
nbt/nbs :)
yeah.....how about we find a desert island.....and form our own society.....
and the fact is i think they start off going in there thinking they will make a change,do some good for the commomers and shake thing up,but then it is like a diease and it gets them and they become like all the rest
BRB...need another cup
lol....I like it rose :)
lol, granny, you are as close to being an island as you are going to get
There is something truly strange about having the Easter decorations out while it's snowing outside and there is a fire in the fireplace. : O
not all all, molly.do not know about where you are but here march and april used to be a total bitch kitty before the winter let go it's icy grip
Stats for the top row O, please?

crossy, himself has me reading douglas adam's 'trilogy' of the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy. he has hopes i will find it amusing. am into book 3, with book 4 & 5 to go. i just don't find them amusing.
is it me? or are they aimed at a younger age group, of a previous generation?
Average temperatures here at this time of year are 50-55°F, so snow is an anomaly. But it is to pass quickly and we will be back to warm days by Easter.
Back with a strong cup...mmm
lol...Hitchhikers Guide...hadn't thought of that in year.
I didn't care that much for it either rose...more odd than funny to me
if you made it to book 3,i am sure you must find some redeeming value in them:)
We used to refer to them as "the only books stoners witll read" : D
good, smores...was beginning to think i was the odd one here.
my mrs for example had me burn the twilight series after she was just half way through the first book:))
LOL...nice Molly..I was still a stoner then :)
crossy, you forget just what a determined cuss i am....i will persist until i can honestly say i have read them all.lol
Oh I hope it was a nice fire, that is all those books are good for. : D
it was indeed a good fire
i am reading a real good one now by Daniel Simmons calle The terror
yay for mrs crossy....personally i think the twilight books were not very entertaining at all.
lol...didn't like the sparkling vampire heh?
Keep the 50 Shades Of Grey around in case you have a power failure. : P
lol.do not care to read it.most men do not,but then again most men are dying to meet in person the woman who wrote them
50 shades that is
The woman who wrote those books is like the guy who tells personal sexual stories that he really read in Penthouse forum. : )
but still interesting to read where all that bubbled up from
teehee
see
grrr...it's snowing again
smores, crossy, my appreciation of the written word has changed over the last 10 years. i really don't find erotica and black humour entertaining anymore.
i also am on to different things, granny
Lots of snow all across the country Smores.
speaking of getting things done before the storm,i must head out for an appt.back soon..poink!
Yes, we got about 9 inches.
Bye for now crossy :)
crossy, i am delighting in reading books by the older authors...morris west, daphne du maurier etc.
It had stopped though and I thought it was done.
later, crossy...again lovely to catch up with you. have a good one, mate
top o?

I'm still stumped at snow in late March. I don't know whether to dye eggs or hang mistletoe. : D
I have seen snow in March and If I remember correctly there was once snow in April :(

Thanks Mixi, it was Smores idea. : )

Yes TO, similar stuff on streets here. : )

we dind't get any of the white stuff.
appropriate typo :)
Best typo I've seen here lately.

We have about 9inches and it started back up a bit ago
My sister has snow in North Carolina, but she is near the mountains.
oh wow.
i heard that. but a good excuse to stay in and work. also a good excuse to bake and eat it all.
Last time my daughter and her friend built a snowman then we left...came back and the head had fallen off.
They squirted catsup all over the top and base of head and a put a "bloody" stick next to it.
i need to finish ths grid
So I had a decapitated snowman in my yard for about a week
Very Calvin & Hobbes of them.
think the bunny will be much cuter :)
:)
Yah, they're a little warped for sure :)
It was kinda cool, they told me they were gonna go fix the snowman, was quite surprised when they called me out to look
I must go...2 hour delay is up :)
BBL to finish...have fun :)

Molly, thank you.
I'm having a very tough time getting to NBT today; nearly have NBS though
Not much Nef and it's too warm to accumulate. Ornamental snow is what I call it. Pretty to look at and gone before it causes problems.
hello everybody
hi ((ruby))
I still have over a foot of solid snow in the back yard; the chain link fence has been very short all winter
hi ruby
Northwestern New Jersey. No snow! (but my yard still has some left from the last storm)
Hi Dorens :)
out weather is grey and miserable, temps hovering just above freezing and the lake is totally hidden by the clouds. Everybody is complaining
hi annie, ruby, nef, molly
{{group hug for all}}
At least the over 6 foot pile of snow at the foot of the drive (where the plow has been pushing it all winter) is closer to my height; so that's encouraging
and it looks like puppy is definitely coming on Friday; hopefully it will have stopped drizzling by then
hi again, Dorans. Haven't seen you for a while and now 2 days in a row! :-)
good morning :)
how big is the puppy, ruby?
she is just Under 3 months and looks very sturdy from the pictures and beautiful to boot
hi nan!
my 14 yr old Schiz-poo is 11 pounds, that's why I'm askinghow big she is (I have no clue on the size of your breed
full-grown they weigh about 75 lbs, but Ruffino is still growing and I think he'll be bigger than that. He's a moose
oh, dear. I wouldn't know what to do with a dog that big! :-)
my sister raises gooden retrievers; way to big and energetic for us!
think of all the lovely str-shaped mud prints! lol
hi ruby, nef, nan, molly and all you lurkerz ;) molly - ro 5/14 is british slang for the sexual act ruby's getting her puppy - finally - woooooot!
star*
I thought I knew all the nasty words but I guess not
really Kate? Very strange.
aaah, isn't that just between men?
... as in.... someone needs a good rogering it gets referred to a lot in sit coms and i think it was in the full monty
that is too funny but at least it's better than some of the acceptable racial slurs
wow. The things I learn on Babble
I swear, it's like they have a whole different kind of English over there.
Lilliann had no idea what cheese doodles were last night, because over there, they are Wotsis. : O
:) i probably should have said a bloody good rogering - they do molly, i find it very interesting how N.a. english has evolved from the mother land's language
I miss cheez doodles
I ordered some food from Amazon American foods and the postage cost double what the food did
car bonnet = car hood car trunk = car boot - as in a car boot sale
Ruby, when my husband still lived in Canada, I sent him a birthday cake one year and the postage was the same as the cake. Insane.
if postage was less expensive, I would mail you all my books
neither of those terms make any sense to me, TK. Why would they call the front of the car a hat and rear a shoe?
will it help if i put some cheez doodles in the PB?
yes, kate, ty
does that mean you want a free word?
well, a hood and a bonnet both cover your head;
Don't try and make sense of it Nef. Why do they call diapers...nappies?
my sister used to send me books in M-bags; the US postal service sent heavy bags of books for about 11 dollars but they discontinued the service
not so sure about boot and trunk i will gladly take a free word, so far i have only one word. the grid looks decidedly nasty today
someone gave a clue last night for an ho that was like a whore's house -- all I can find is the french clock
I figure some things (such as diapers) have been around for centuries; but cars are a more recent invention. You'd think they'd tried to speak the same languages
my favorite word so far is or5, the lowest deck of a ship (I think)
ho8...first part of astrology reading + section of a theater
ah -- ho 8...french clock with an extra vowel in the moddle
*middle
need one more h
found it
I tried the Fr clock and it didn't even tick
still missing an 8...have ge and ho - the other?
the french needs another vowel inserted as the 4th letter
see 12:46, RUBY
*sorry, didn't mean to shout
got it, ty
clue for ge 8 please
half and nbs but not nbt
someone who studies rocks, Annie
starts like National ge* +front of the balconuy + r
thank!! nef
nef's clue is better!
and ruby
Oh hush Ruby, your clue was good too. : D
oh duh -- just found the qu 8
ty nan, I wasn't even looking for it
tahnks nan, that got it for me too!
quora
left column grayed out !
nbt
does anyone have the stats for the y please?
yi5/16
yi5/16
thanks molly, hunting for it now
:) success, thanks molly
*!*~*!* ta da *!*~*!*
finished already nan? well done!
today is the first day in over a week I'm actually hungry! I just helped myself to a 2 person-sized serving of homemade chicken barley soup and it tastes good!
Nef, the soup sounds divine
glad your appetitie is returning nef, soup sounds delish
I'm bragging because I made it Annie. It is good too. (love my food saver machine and freezer
chicken soup, what a good idea, haven't made one all winter
I finally bought a fridge today, so that is one more problem solved.
I strongly encourage you to make some ruby. Very healing stuff.
oh good, ruby. Is it there yet?
do you put dill in yours, Nef?
it will be delivered on Thursday; I took a floor model as I couldn't wait another two weeks as I've been tearing my hair
no I haven't, ruby. I have just about every other herb there is though
Maybe I'll try it next time
I used to cook a lot but not any more as husband and I have totally different taste. So I cook for him, I cook for dogs and then I eat something very simple
you were having trouble with it almost a month ago, weren't you?
The only thing I use dill for is salmon.
do you ever add capers, molly?
2 months
I use dill for fish, Swedish meatballs, and pickles. I've never tried it with chicken
you are a patient woman, ruby.
bought a little fridge for the pantry and a small freezer for the garage and the GE couldn't be repaired by the "crook" technician who came 3 times
I had to have the cupboard above the old fridge removed today and will just have an open shelf above. Less pretty but there was no way I could find one to fit
dill is terrific for chicken soup
I make it the way my mother used to with parsnip, as well as the other vegetables
in fact that's what we're having with our matzoh balls tomorrow night
it's hard to find parsnip here
it's also hard to find martzoh!
I have a Reynolds Handi-Vac Sealer (which is the low rent version of a Food Saver Machine). I use it all the time.
parsnip is expensive here.
I made stuffed cabbage also
that's funny, Nef, I Wonder why
I love stuffed cabbage, but mine has always disintegrated
maybe we should all post our chicken soup recipes. Now I'm curious about this.
mine starts with "First you steal a chicken...."
It's expensive here too. My produce guy says that is because no one buys it.
ruby, your recipe is from the shtetl
yup
lol!
shtetl?
nef, a yiddish word for village
ok
mine too annie.. was my mother-in-law's. parsnip, carrot, onion, dill
parsnips are expensive here too, bought some to go in a beef stew last month - 5 parsnips in a bag was $2.99 - and it was only about a pound (500 g)
parsnip has a subtle taste, totally lost on my husband who never had a parsnip, rutabaga or turnip before he met me
shtetl is in the grid from time to time. always love it. reminds me of fiddler on the roof, not to mention my ancestry.
It's lost on me too Ruby. I'm not a fan of any of those you mentioned.
parsnips run about $1 a peice here (they come 3 for $3
do you know the name of your ancestor's shtetls annie and dorens?
on th4e subject of veggies... can you all find sweet potatoes anymore? i see yams (sometimes the store sign says sweet potato, but it's definitely yams)
Kiev
near villna,
sneaks out of lurkdom to tell you to peel and quarter a parsnip, rub someolive oil on it and raost it with your potatoes. Sweet, soft, and delicious.
evenin g all
Hi Glant
my father's family was from a shtetl outside of Kiev, Kanotop
i glant, annie, and dorens
helo glant. that sounds delish
I roast all winter veggies, oil, fresh garlic, salt, peper, delish
if you want to improve the roast parsnip, peel and quarter, lightly boil or steam until getting soft, dip in egg, flour and finely grated parmesan and roast. yum.
funny. vilna is also in ukraine. guess we're all related
Im going to do that, glant
We have sweet potatoes here all year long.
his family left in about 1902 because of the pogroms
the other wya they are nice is to boil, steam or even microwave till soft, then mash with some grated cheddar cheese.
his parents met and married in Scranton
we have sweet potatoes all year too
same here, my mother and father's family were driven out because of progroms
see you babblers later, bye
my mother's father was romanian... father's parents Polish and Russian. Mom's mom was from Vilna (Ukraine), and yes... all were driven out by pogroms
ttfn annie
bye annie
my mother was born in the Ukraine in Dnepropetrovsk (used to be Ekaterinaslav) but she came over in 1910. They were city people and her father taught dancing in the Russian army (at least that's the story)
dancing? In the Army?
it's probably a family myth, but no one is alive to refute it. And my father's mother, a great beauty, was an actress in the Yiddish theater in Scranton. I seem to be the only one in the family who knows that
fireflies
cool, ruby
yay glant!
YAY, Glant!!! WTG!!!
my grandparents were all emigrating form Italy to New york when the ship stopped in liverpool, and they were told thta one brother was too ill and would be turned away at Ellis Island, so they stayed in Liverpool.
I love those stories
I think he may have had TB. Anyway, great grandfather was a busking one man band around Liverpool for about 30 years, and one set of great grandparents and their children did street singing.
do you have any old photods?
the pther side of the family did fairground acts - riding the wall of death, and other entertainments - amazing how you can make a living when you don;t have any formal training!
there is a book about Liverpool called 'Little Italy and there is a photo of the inging family in there, and I have photos of both great grandfathers
that is a really interesting background, glant. Do you have talent?
interestingly, one great grandmother registered the births of each of her children differently, they were hard totrace
<---Keeps quiet about her nefarious Irish ancestors.
we think it's because she was probably an illegal immigrant, and also because they wre not married. In fact, he may already have ahd a wife, eith back in Italy, or maybe elsewhere
I want to hear about the poteen still, molly
I have all sorts of talent Ruby :-) but have never learnt any kind of performing art
uh oh, DH is banging around upstairs so I have to go
right, off to cook and eat dinner, early start tomorrow, off to London to see how they run education programmes at the Tower of London, Hampton Court & Kensingon Palace.
This has been swell!!!
bye ruby
bye everyone
bye Glant and ruby
Ruby you are channeling my Dad. He said "swell" and "nifty" a lot. : )
bye glant and ruby, wandered away for a bit

gremlins are loose in babbleland ;))
to be fair, the crocuses in said picture are now buried in snow again, so maybe it's appropriate

why isn't quora a word. Isn't it the plural of quorum?
I am so done with winter, smores
xeliuj - tahnks for the stats for the top o, looking for it now:)
I always wonder that bichon, I hate that it doesn't recognize quora
Wish winter was done with us :(
Me too....
Okay, just got off the phone with a friend (and I could talk without coughing!), but my friend is very long-winded. Now I'm awaiting my sister in MT who sent me an email saying she's trying to talk to me and is calling at any minute (and she's long-winded too)! I'm going to post my chicken soup recipe to my profile as soon as I can; but it won't be while I'm on the phone.
Agree Bichon..silly Enable
Winter is is never going to end. We're having snow showers tonight
Y.W, if you need a clue just shout
Hi xeiluj
yep, more snow showers here too. At least it's melting a little today rather than acumulating further
Anti
Winter is not giving up here either...but today and yesterday have been sunny if cold. Planning on walking to choir practice tonight...

got it, thanks bichon... jilly - how are you able to insert music notes in your chat???
4/6 Kate
I use character map...
Notes are not mine
:) ta!
does one of the f keys get you to the character map?
Kate, did you watch Patrick Chan win? What did you think?
Not sure TK, it is an option on my Win8...Molly, do you know?
i did! his short was miraculous, long was less than stellar to say the least, but he had a bad season, so i was glad he managed to pull it off... psychologically i was worried about next year if he didn't get a good gold
While his long was very flawed, I [and not everybody] thought he should win. The silver medalist skates very small
ah, i am on windows 7 here, i think... i have babble expert open, so i don't have alll the top row showing
TK...here is how Open Character Map by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking All Programs, clicking Accessories, clicking System Tools, and then clicking Character Map.
bye folks fw
i thought dennis ten was amazing! i will be watching him much closer in the future - he's a real threat for olympics!

The go6 girls???
so i need a second ho 6/33 there is also a he 4/5

Thanks cgypsy
there is a recipe for jugged hare - british saw it on two fat ladies :)
Yes, people cannot be content with their disgusting jelly bean shooters, they have to come up with something like that.
Yeah I quit drinking before it got that weird I guess
sex on the beach was the weirdest named one I remember...jello shooters were getting popular though
Slippery Nipple...what kind of name is that for a drink. Really.
lol..I forgot about that one...what was it kahlua and something?
Butterscotch schnapps and Irish cream.
Ah...yes, and the buttery nipple, same thing but with vodka I think..
1/2 oz Bailey's® Irish cream 1/2 oz butterscotch schnapps
fireworks! how much quicker it goes with the list Thanks Lickety!!
Congratulations TraderKate on fireworks! Good for U!
Well done TK !!! :)
Never made one with vodka. Buttery Nipple and Slippery Nipple are the same thing.

Hi....I have the Q eight letter word. Can I get clues for the other two?
<---- blushing looks like i missed 2 friendly grids over the weekend
ge8/60 and ho8/55
Most people have no idea what is in these drinks. They order them because they are twelve years old at heart and just want to say "I'll have a wet dream" out loud. Most of the time they end up tasting them and then ordering a beer.
hi pen, there are 5 qu words
A qu5/16 wordi is first five letters of the qu8 penquis
are there two Q 8 words? I have one.
qu 5/16 qu 8/65 qu 5/16 qu 5/16 qu 6/27
no just one
ge8/60 one who studies the earth
I have five qu words....I need clues for the other two eight letter words.
chyuckling at molly - how true!
Another qu 5/16 is a measurement&qu6 word adds a vowel to the measurement word.Other qu 5/16 word is measurement word, but change last consonant to a vowel penquis.
ho 8/55 and ge 8/60
i have five qu words already...are there more?
ho8 Daily ho**scope + throw another *** on the fire + vowel
ho 8 .... •railroad slang word for locomotive engineer. Used often and very common in the rail industry. and i used to be one!
"Can I have sex on the beach" bartender; "sure I get off at 3"
lol... she said GETS OFF at 3 ;)) i'm a 12 year old boy in reality <smirk>
lol...nice TK
you used to be an ho8?
i did... and i was darn good at it too :)

... since `992
thanks....got the ho one (good clue)....I have no idea about any railroad slang...trying to figure out who studies the earth...
An ho8 is a sundial. You used to be a sundial???

doesn't end with ist but the one who does ending
i was a ho 6/33, i've been staring at the screen for far too long lol

A ge8/60 is the scientific study of the origin, history, structure, and composition of the earth penquis.

450g pack pork sausages 2 tbsp wholegrain mustard 2 tbsp tomato ketchup 1 tbsp golden syrup or honey 2 tbsp olive oil 1 red onion peeled and sliced 1 red pepper, deseeded and diced 200g mushrooms, wiped and quartered 1 tsp chilli powder 400g can chopped tomatoes 150ml apple juice 300g cooked left over pasta bows (or other shapes) 150g Edam or other firm white cheese, diced 6 easy steps... Preheat the oven to 400F/200C/Gas 6. Place the sausages in a baking try and cook for 15 minutes. Meanwhile, mix together the mustard, ketchup and golden syrup. Heat the olive oil in a frying pan and add the onion, red pepper and mushrooms, stir fry for 5 minutes then add the chilli powder, chopped tomatoes and apple juice and stir well. Stir in the cooked left over pasta. Spoon into an ovenproof serving dish. Remove the sausages from the oven and slice each into 3 on a diagonal. Tip into a bowl, drizzle with the mustard mixture and arrange over the pasta. Scatter with diced cheese and return to the oven for 20 minutes.

Hello 72 Temple Owl!How are you? Welcome to chog.
hello min
i made beef burgundy and ate it 6 times
stroganoff sounds yummy
it does but its a lot of work
and the kitchen is clean lol
ok, off to kitchen bbs hi min
I HAVE ANTS!!!! SNOW and ANTS!!! so i don't want to cook too much, time to spray again
I have made beef burgundy&strogonoff before. I like both, however, I like strogonoff better than burgundy
how screwed up is that? even the ants are tired of this shiite
Hi again.
min i wish you had joined us for dinner.
hi nef.
Hello Nef!How are you doing? Welcome to Babbleland
Eggs, stroganoff, burgundy, pancakes, waffles...all kinds of food in here.
I'm not liking this grid today. I've been working on it off and on throughout the day and I'm blinded by it
Nef,I have a story of clues in my profile if you need it
Also, the grid is really not too bad if you use Lickety's
and we talked about soup earlier today (Molly, I finally got my chicken soup "recipe" up; but you'll find it's a bit different that most people do recipes; I'm not good with measuring and following directions)
I just keep seeing the same words over and over and can't seem to get past them, Min
And cosedem has a recipe for strawberry cheesecake salad in his profile. That looks yummy.Must try it soon
nef what do u do with the chicken skin when u take them off?
Phantom words for me today are opaque&quarantine
toss them, cos. I brown them for the flavor, but don't want to eat them
Sounds like my chicken soup Nef, except for the ginger.
i love the skins.. ill just eat them while i wait for the soup to cook :)
Prince Harry will be visiting my town 5 minutes from where I live in May. I may need a lawyer :P
LOL, cos. It's my CV-ICU background: no extra fats, low salt cooking
I may make the soup this coming weekend.
clues 4the ge 8 and the ho8 please
Oh and I never add pasta to soup until right before I serve it. That way the pasta doesn't get all mushy.
And Molly, I add ginger to a lot of things, fresh or powdered. It's good for you (and we like it)
cool, the ge 8 is someone who studies rocks
(earth rocks)
Cos, if you go partying with Harry, watch the cell phone pictures. : D
yep, Molly
ty
hologer
lol molly... yeah i dont need a scandal before im elected to office
sorry
ho8 please
very true, cos. The last thing you need is a scandal.
ho 8/55 is begining of astrological reading plus lo 4/6
Once you are in office; it seems politicians don't mind scandals
Cos your salad recipe is just like something you would see at a Southern get together. Although Jello salad is more on the hit parade at those things.
ty
I'm kind of counting on the Rupert Grint scandal.
it7 please
cos, if that serves 10, they mustn't be big pieces.
sorry, cool; I don't have it
IT7 it + vowel + venting out anger..which the word ends with pest insect.
it + vowel + **** and rave
Zoom and I are sharing a brain today.
teehee
it7/28 word is it plus vowel plus ra 4/4 word cool.girl
ty good clue
Darn! I've tried that many times but kept adding an extra N in there!
Hi cool.girl! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid.
Hello zoozzoom! How are you doing? Welcome to grid
Very well thank you, Min..hope you to are well.

Minveryork, Your waffles look devine.
Oh darn, I'm invisible again.

Thanks zoozzoom! Had I known it was Pancake day, I would have eaten blueberry pancakes for breakfast.

yw Nef.
A yi5/16 rhymes with what you experience if you are pregnant cool.girl.
Does anyone here know how I can fix the time on my Yahoo account. I just sent an email and it says I sent it 3 hours ago.How can I get the right time on Yahoo?
sorry, Min. I know nothing about Yahoo
fireworks
YAY, cos!!! WTG!!!
Min...go here: http://tinyurl.com/ckjwlb4
That tells you how to fix the time in Yahoo email.
Congratulations cosdem on your fireworks! Way to go
Thanks MollyL!I'll try it after I finish reading my email
Hi everyone
Hello Alexis Elise! How are you doing?Welcome to grid
I'm good. How are you?
I am on vacation this week,so I can't really complain.
hi Alexis. Isee you've changed your icon; that must be the book you spoke of last night
Wow, Min! Congrats on vacation!
Hi Nef. That would be the book.
Vacation sounds nice
MollyL, are you still here?
Thank you Nef! I started it by going to Long Island to see mother-in-law.Hadn't seen her since Thanksgiving
How is she after this winter, Min? (Do you get along with her?)
seeing my MIL would be no vacation for me.
Can I get a clue for the ho 6/33....I think it's the second one...
Hello rururocks! How are you doing? Welcome to grid
you spend a lot of time in the bathroom Alexis?
HI minver
ho 6/33 is ho 4/9 word plus *mergency *oom penquis.
ho 6/33 # 2 is a female ho6/33
change the last letter
I get along with her because I see her in small doses.
<---would need several doses of something before i'd see my MIL
I had my MIL for 9 months; she died almost 9 months to the day we got married (she was 54 at the time). She had MS and was a quadriplegic in a nursing home. I always think people are lucky to have them (whether they like them or not)
I tried to follow the directions to fix my time setting on my Yahoo account and it STILL does not work!It is telling me I sent mail that I just sent three hours ago.
Maybe it can't correct ones that have been sent? (I don't know...)
Thanks for the help!
did you finish, penquis? If So; YAYA!!!!
err, YAY , I mean
Got one left...pr 7/48....
let me know if you want a clue
8 left for me; but it's taken me forever to get here today
Go Nef go!
Min, when you get to SET LANGUAGE, TIME AND ZONE your settings should read ENGLISH (UNITED STATES) in the first box and US EASTERN in the second box. Then hit SAVE and your time should be correct. If not, you need to contact Yahoo.
thanks, Min
It took me forever to SEE the words; I've been quite dense the past week.
Is there a difference between Eastern time & GMT -05:00 U.S. Eastern time MollyL? I tried it both ways.
Yes. GMT Time is not our time zone. You want it Eastern. Then be sure to hit SAVE. Try sending yourself an email to check it.
they should be the same, minver, assuming dailight time is turned on. GMT-5 is EST.
Yes, I did that AND I sent myself an e-mail to check it
Hello dcseain! How are you doing? Welcome to puzzle
eh, okay. getting over a cold. Hope you're well
Min, all I can tell you is that in Yahoo mail, your time should be set to US Eastern. If that is not working, you have a problem that only Yahoo can fix.
So then my next question is how do I contact Yahoo?
I guess I should not be so obsessed with time settings
FW finally
congrats, nef
Congratulations Nef on your fireworks!Hooray for you
Okay, I just contacted Yahoo Customer Care. Thanks for your help and patience with my problem MollyL!
I would take a clue for pr 7/48...
pr7/48 word extends pr4/7 and ends with *mergency *oom penquis.
maybe a slang name for a programmer?
maybe a slang name for a programmer?
maybe a slang name for a doofus who repeats himself >? :D
thanks much!...Done!
YAY, penquis!!! WTG!!!

Hello Dorens! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid

Thanks much, Min.

A ge8/60 is the scientific study of the origin, history, structure, and composition of the earth gapeach.
Hi peach. How's your friend Billy?
One who studies the earth - usually ends in -ist ..
Hello CrissieDee!How are you doing? Welcome to grid
Thanks so much, tor.
Hi Min. Can't sleep so thought I would pop in.
I am about to go to sleep myself. I hope I can GET to sleep though. I hate having insomnia ChrissieDee.
Thank goodness for Babble on the insomnia evenings!
Yes, my sentiments too
yw peach
Who knows,I might just pop back in here if I can't go to sleep. I had a terrible nights sleep last night since hubby kept me up with his snoring. It was miserable!
I'm a little slow tonight ..
Give him a poke Min
AND Babble wasn't available. Was at a house with no internet.Well, now I am really signing off. Goodnight!
Night night
I would find another place to sleep if I had to contend with that ..
Nitres Min ..
Goodnite to my fellow babblers! I'll see you tomorrow
I snore too :(
I used to snore myself awake until I conditioned myself not to sleep on my back ..
Sweet dreams, Min.
Tor, I've done the same thing. I've never been able to sleep on my back though.
I've had such funny dreams that I wake up laughing and trying to remember what was that funny. LOL
And can you usually remember?
Not usually, Dee.
Hubby has nightmares and fights in his sleep. I sometimes get hit and the dog gets kicked off the bottom of the bed
I guess I must love him or he'd be in the spare room ;)
Yes, I've had a fist fly across my face. I moved into the guest room.
My dreams are usually so weird that when I do remember, I wonder what universe that came from ..
Depending on my mood, sometimes I wake him gently and sometimes I hit him back, lol
There you go, Dee.
Tor, I think there should be some way to record our dreams.....well, I don't know if that would be a good thing or not. LOL
ho8-55 please.....thanks
Ho + **w your boat + wooden chalet - *** cabin + vowel
ho 8 an early clock.
hi all, we are in our new house!
Happy new home sue :)
Yay sue!
Thanks so much, Dee and book.
Great, sue!
And most importantly you have the internet connected
yes, that is pretty much the most important thing, chrissie :-)
also the dog and the cats are here now
Bet you're exhausted now
They are comforting in times of need. One of my little dogs knows when my back is hurting and he will roll up against my back and kind of puts pressure where the pain is.
I am absolutely at the end of my rope. And with Frank being sick, I wound up doing more and accomplishing less than I had hoped
I can't sleep. Too excited, got signed off by the oncologist today - finished chemo
((( sue)))
Oh, my goodness, Dee. That is exciting news....Hugs to you.
however we have more time, the movers are coming tomorrow to move the big stuff but we don't have to be out of this one for a couple of weeks yet
Thanks peach
