my re9 is an again word
ty rast

Glad you found it! Hugs, flosey!
good morning??
Hi Ruby - hugs!!!!
How's Rafaella?
morning. New word in the grid for Enable: sidechog. Meaning to avidly type words into the grid whilst keeping one careful eye on the chat log just in case someone you like turns up.
Hi Dachef
Like the sidechog word!
rafaella is a magic dog! I even thought she was housebroken, besides being adorable, sart and affectionate. But one accident so far and, surprisingly, not during the night but while we were all together.
Now if it would only stop raining because the amount of mud the twodogs bring in is astonishing!
that's wonderful. How's Rufie with her and how's she with Rufie? And how's your DH with her?
and hugs to you, lzlin
Have you got any pics of her?
Rufie is a little bit strange with her but they chase each other back and forth and the only time he barked was when she got briefly stuck down a hill in the garden, and that was so I would come to help
That's so caring of him - I'm sure they'll become friends.
my camera went dead yesterday, but I'll take more today and, if I can figure out how to get them into computer, they'll be on the way.
I'd love to see them, so I hope you do get it to all work. You must be feeling pretty relieved that she's here safely.
{{ruby}} and welcome to rafella
DH is only slightly diverted, mostly he likes to talk about how cute and wonderful she is, but then lapses into his nastiness with me. Tant pis!
{{rose}}
grrrr, * rafaella *
she is a delicious little dog, bold and very "licky"
Tant pis indeed! Just change the conversation back to the dogs!!! Not so easy, I do realise!
rode 2 1/2 hrs back from lyon on my lap, alternately sleeping and licking me
i do so like a dog who is demonstrative with their love.
close enough; half the time I call her puppy girl
Ah that's so cute. How heavy is she?
At least Rufie won't get confused if you call her puppy girl. Their names are pretty similar.
VERY she looks small but probably weighs 15-20 bs
Your poor legs!!!!
she'll be anothher moose and she immediately did her biz in the garden but eat and drinks prodigiously and we have to keep the door open (hence the "accident this AM)
liz, if you have seen pics of ruby, you would realise just how true your words are. ruby is so tiny ( compared to me ).
She'll learn. It's all very new for her too.
I am really crippled up today and DH is only concerned with cleaning out the garage (he has 4 mowers - who knew)m 2 edger (ditto), 800 lbs of bird seed (exaggerating) and lots of wood. I think he's preparing for a war
Are you working over the holiday weekend Rose or have you got some time to relax?
You poor thing, Ruby! 4 mowers!!!! Very odd!
They make a big deal about \'Easter Monday" here, but nobody goes to Church!
ya think that's odd? And he doesn't even do the mowing
I find it odd how everything shuts on Good Friday! In the UK everything was open - considered a boom day especially for the garden centres etc.
Easter seems to be party time for many of our neighbours!
uh oh, she just peed next to DH's desk, so Ms. Clean must go to the rescue
it's like that here, too. In NY, Good Friday was a big deal.
it's like that here, too. In NY, Good Friday was a big deal.
Did you know that the Russian and Germanand Polish pogroms almost always started on Good Friday?
hello room-hope you dont mind me nosing in on your conversation about the new puppy.I love dogs(got 3 rescue dogs myself)--may I ask what breed she is
liz, have done on-call for easter for the last 10 years. this year i have taken the time off.
she is our 7th chow chow. We love the aestherics and particular personalities of the breed. They are like enormous cats
That's great Rose. I'm glad you can have some time off.
Yes, Ruby - what was the rationale for that?
hello puglet; I know it's better to get rescue dogs, but we both love chows
Oh I guess to catch Jews killing children over Easter.
Hi puglet.
because they assumed tht the Jews were responsible for Jesus' death!
tomorrow, my whole family gets together for a picnic lunch, to celebrate easter, and my nephew's and my birthday. should be a great day.
now, pee patrol!
That sounds like fun. Hope the weather's kind to you.
thats nice--do you show--I got a pug/great dane mix and a boxer
We've got guests tomorrow night and Monday night for Passover meals, so busy day tomorrow.
Easter celebrations are based around a bloke who went out with his mates for a 'supper', changed water into wine and then woke up 3 days later in a cave. Don't see the big thing about that. Happens to me all the time.
Especially the wine part! - Although I guess my wine changes into water. lol!
wow, puglet. just how big is the pug/great dane. and how on earth did they get together?* pictures great dane on 'knees*...lol
That's quite an image!
lolol
I got a pug and got a great dane mix
You've assumed the Dane was the male!!!!
Ohhhhh!
hmmmm
all mine are girls
Visualise jumping pugs!
opps, bbl, dinner is served....happy babbling
um, that would be *oops *
Seriously, that's lovely. I love dogs and hope that one day we might have one but we fundamentally disagree about whether dogs are outside or inside pets!!!
but believe it or not the pug is the boss over them all--shes got the bluff on them
Bon appetite Rose.
sorry got work on my mind...* giggle *
I can believe it! Small is powerful!!
so true
100 left to find. BBL
please may I have a clue for the 9s
re9/72 - to make up my mind again
re9/66 - to put the same person back in office
thank you
yw
back....re9/72, has a plural ending...re9/66 is a past tense
hey dianne and jenny
Hi rose - having a good weekend?
nbs and nbt but not quite halfway yet
yes, thanx, dianne. chilling out nicely. lol
back again..."Happy Easter" and to those who do not celebrate, have a Happy Weekend.
thanx, diz, happy easter to you, too. hope you are enjoying the long weekend.
thanx Rose...nice and quiet tonight...g/kids went home to wait for the Easter Bunny...LOL
today, the sun is shining (the first time for ages) and the temperature is above freezing and I think Spring may have come to Oxford!!
also lol....out shopping today, himself saw something....thought it was a white rabbit...turned out to be a white plastic bag blowing in the wind.
awwww, jenny......what a lovely thought
Not looking forward to Monday morn....g/son is with his Dad this w/end. The youngster is on a 'sugar free' diet...but his Dad reckons he doesn't have 'junk food' in the house......well hello, tis not just the junk food - but ALL FOODS have to be looked at
sorry for the rant...xx
yeah, diz. you have mentioned tis before....so ex-son-in-law has not seen the light. good grief...what does it take?
what does it take???....a friggin smack up his head!!!! sorry for swearing
g/son has been soooo fantastic, since he has been 'sugar free', his teacher even asked his Mum if he could have a small choccie egg, Mum said YES cos he was going to his dad's. wrong, I know, BUT.
hello lovely babblers. Hope you enjoy the easter break. it appears to be slightly sunny today which is quite nice. We are going out for lunch to a lovely restaurant and then tomorrow I might try to salvage our poor garden
lol....stand in line, hun. we have the same (almost ) problem with mother mac. she is a prednisolone induced diabetic, so not insulin dependent. but if her blood sugar levels go up, the bugs in her blood-stream go beresk. and she ends up very sick, requiring hospitalisation. here at home we keep her intake to an absolute minim um. she goes to her daughter's for the weekend/night and SHE fills her up with all sorts of food containing sugar. then hands her back to us, to clean up the mess.
my grandson cannot eat chocolate but his auntie says because she doesn't see him very often its all right for him to have it from her!! how stupid can you get
and that is the end of MY rant
hello fellow earthlings
hey granadan
JivingJenny, that is sooo wrong, g/son realises the difference and asked if the Easter Bunny could give him money instead of choccie cos he saving for a new PSP game
hey grandan
g/son always said i can't have chocolate but little sister can. Now he is almost 13 he just rolls his eyes and eplains that chocolate makes his head go funny!
must poof now and actually do some work!
Jenny, sounds like our g/son xxx
night, jenny. have a good day, hun
and I thought "chog" was a legitimate word!
strange....my last chog has disappeared into cyber space...
hello?
husband is making me crazy. Today he's decided to organize that needs to be thrown out in the garage, e.g. all his abandoned projects. Meanwhile, I'm contending with a new puppy who isnt quite houseborken vast quantities of mud, incomes taxes and a very sore back from yesterday's 5 hrs in the car.
husband is making me crazy.
I may shoot him!
hello. hello, hello......there's an ec4 in here
aorry, it's probably because I'm all a-tremble
allow me to load the gun, my friend. meanwhile you can garotte mine. lol
and the rain doesn't stop so both dogs are wet and muddy but want cuddling anyway
darling, he said he was making the bed 4 hours ago....just went in to go to bed...and take a flying stab of a guess at what i found....
sleeping on topp of the covers, I'll bet!
what covers!!!!!!
on top of the stipped bed? Sleep on the couch and leave him uncovered!
and sweetheart, cuddle the muddy dogs, then cuddle DH....
LOLOLOL
TG the housekeeper is coming on Monday, even though it's a Holiday here. I've just washed the outside steps, but they'll be muddy again in 15 mins
*giggle* now he's complaining because he had to get up off his ar4, and actually make the bed..."i'm so hot" he says....and what does he think i go through each time i have to make the bed on my own....for goodness sake!!
and you're in the grid! just saw it after 98 words d'uh
ruby ! you got the puppy!! whats his name and good morning
hey ives
Rafaella (Raffie): she's adorable, smart, affectionate "lickyj" and almost housebroken. And she's very bold with Rufie
hi granny
oh sounds like fun...!
I'm wiped out from the 5 hrs in the car yesteray inpouring rain with this very heavy ppup on my lap
i imagine. quite a trip
it woud be fun if the rain would stop....for te oment there is mud everywhere
himself is back
*woof*
rain and snow here all the time lately and still cold.
later ruby
ruby, give him a hug from me...* evil grin *
ives, our weather turning cold here...thought we were supposed to be opposite...what the heck is happening to our world?
mixed up muddled up world lately. people , weather. strange things
we will get a warmer easter sunday, mb 50, then back to 30 again
yeah, DH says if he wanted to live in the tropics, he would have moved to queensland....lol
ok. time to get son, we have a weekly saturday morning coffee at tim hortons...then off to work have a great day granny
aagghh, ives....apart from the coffee with son, sounds like a yuck day.....unless of course you, like me, love your work.
morning friends! quiet house, working laptop (AT LAST) and a fat grid. I am a happy gal!
hey, trifioso. nice to see you....grid is good.
oooh, just found one of my fave scrabble words! qu5
good for you trif. also one o my fave's...always am challenged on it...lol
i discovered an absolutely fabulous word the other day .... quincunx. haven't had a chance to use it in a game yet, but imagine THAT beauty on a triple word space!
*drooling* would LOVE to use it....
There is an absolutely fantastic book by Charles Palliser called the "Quincunx"
um, yes, godthaab.....did you wish to say something? lol
thanks godthaab! noted....
I hit the return button by mistake. I am here in the dark.
nah, I get it granny - godthaab was excited to talk about a book - I get like that ALL the time
godthaab, how can you be in the dark when you play babble? it's such an enlightening game...lol
im in the semi darkness as well, granny
goooooooooooood morning fellow babblers xxx could someone tell me how many words today please? xxx
Literally, not metaphorically.
249
ty Trifi xxx
249, worzel
ty rose xxx
yes, godthaab. have not turned on lights as yet, gloomy grey morning, so quite dark here
I think it might be the same here. I am looking for a nice warm day, but I hear rumors of snow!
it's nearly 11pm here....trying to stay up another hour, as daylight saving ends tonight....hate waking up at 5am and unable to go back to sleep.
where are you, godthaab?
Toronto
ah. I am a bit south of you - boston :)
Where did you get that staircase. Is it a Yabu Pushelberg (sic)
I have no idea. it showed up on a fb site I like called Beautiful Design. they would have credited it, of course
I am mad for mosaics, of all kinds.
Very cool
Very Cool
I'm still in the dark.....
my personal best so far is my kitchen backsplash. it took ages, but I am really proud of it....
Yes, I imagine that ceramics are not easy to work with, especially if there is a lot of cutting involved.
cutting, sometimes....to be honest, I am more of a hammer type girl
i am very impressed by anyone who works in mosaics. personally, i have all the talent of a toilet seat.
it pretty much free therapy, at that point :)
there are some photos of my backsplash in my flickr feed, on page 11, should you care to gander
gasp! how can enable not accept "CHOG"????
Teehee..i tried that also, Trif..so annoying.
Enable does not except the word 'Internet' either...when it is in the grid.
Wow! That is great. I bet it did take you forever! Are the ceramics "broken" or cut?
Trif! Hi stranger. Easter blessings to you and yours.
hello molly! easter greetings to you as well! laptop is FINALLY fixed! Valentine arranged it --- love that guy!
Clearly, he has your best interests at heart. : )
clearly. he's coming to easter dinner at kadresa's house with me, and he is TERRIFIED. its charming
Well he obviously has some sense. "The Sisters" are a force to be reckoned with.
hahaha. what could be less scary than a coven? hahaha
He is probably saying a Novena as we type this.
well, he was raised catholic....
so, here I am in the quiet house, with a to-do list as long as my arm. I do like making lists, but I am not even remotely realistic about how much I can get done in a day....
That seems to be a "woman" thing.
really? that makes me feel better. mostly I think it's just a brain muffler. Somehow, if I get it all down on paper, it's not rattling around in there anymore.
at least I wont forget anything
It also makes you "feel" productive to write down your "intentions". As long as you don't wallow in guilt if you don't get it all done, you're okay.
yes. paving the road to hell every day, that's me
: D That should be a t-shirt.
good afternoon all
Hello, Sprite :-)
hi zooz :)
any fun things planned for Easter, zooz?
Not for me, Sprite..the only thing planned is giving my sisters children their easter eggs. Thats about it....how about you?
aw sweet :) My daughter insisted we kept the tradition alive, even though she is 15 now. So we will hide chocolate eggs and have them search for them... a special egg for each of the kids as well... and an easter breakfast together. My girl is having a friend staying over to share in the fun.
That sounds great, Sprite..nice to keep traditions going ...i think you are never too old to do a chocolate egg hunt. :-)
*grin* I guess I agree! I love it that the kids still think it is fun, at their age. Am planning on making some cute bunny breads and chicklet eggs.
It is nice to hear you want to do that for them...You are enjoying that also i can tell...and i am sure it will be a great day..I hope when they get older they will continue to do the same for their children :-)
yeah that would be great. And yes, you are right, I am enjoying it.
Hello, I miss all that, mine is 25 :(
Hello, Xeliuj :-)
hi xeiluj :) I can imagine... is he/she living on their own?
good morning, all :)
hi mael :)
Hello, Mael :-)
how's spring coming along in your neighborhood?
He lives with his girlfriend
snow today... sigh
Very slowly here.
ugh, sprite
yeah, then it is out of your hands for now, xeiluj. Perhaps later, if they have kids themselves.
Hi all :)
my family in italy says it's snowing at home too, which is just nuts
They say staying very cold for another two weeks here :-(
Hello, Liz :-)
I have been at work doing it all week, just feel i am missing out actually at EAster time.
I might garden today, I really need to prune my roses
OOOOO --> eggs for you, xei!
but I'm afraid to doom them during the next cold snap
crazy weather, mael!
yeah, better wait a bit with the roses
I couldn;t go away with my sister this weekend, my fingers are still numb and where she is is very cold indeed!!
indeed! I'm just hoping we get a wet spring, though. Last year was brutal here on the east coast, dry as a bone until late may.
I have a couple of water butts..and last year i did not need them once..it was such a wet summer.
it was feast or famine over here
Water butts...oh the comments I could make : P
Hoping for a nice hot summer this year..not too long..maybe last untill end of december :-)
sounds good to me
lol
I like the high speed photography icon you have, Sprite..but my eyes cannot see what the writing says though.
If an egg is broken by outside force, life ends. If broken by inside force, life begins. Great things always begin from inside.
it says: If an egg is broken by outside force, life ends. If broken by inside force, life begins. Great things always begin from inside. (Jim Kwik)
Ahh thank you..i need to get my eyes tested.
nice quote :)
nah, it is very small font for the size of the icon.
thanks :)
It is indeed, Mael.
ooh just found a 9
wow, wtg zooz!
Yay zooz :)
hi Liz :)
Hi sprite :)
There's Liz. Hi dear : D
Happy Passover / Easter to those I've not said it to :)
Hi Molly :)
and to you, Liz
Thank you, Liz :-)
81 left here and very little time tomorrow so trying to focus on grid (ha ha)
And to you too & everyone.
stats for the 9, zooz? :)
Although my sister asked her siblings what does easter mean...and they said chocolate eggs :-(
RE9/66
ah... I have the other one :D
And the problem with that answer is ...? lol!
re9/72
lol Liz!
got it, thanks! well, I got sprite's. Looking for the other one ;)
LOL...Liz...you do make me laugh
;)
I'm with mael
So how come i cannot see your RE9, Sprite.
I think the problem is that outside of Italy your chocolate eggs are puny!
guess you made up your mind again not to, zooz :P
RE9 if your political party gets in again they have been re
thanks zooz
re 9 - to make a make up your mind again (pl)
thanks!
But sprite was quicker than me!
*giggles and wondering how to make a make up your mind*
<---Now suffering from puny egg syndrome
tired!!!!
*hugs Liz*
that's why it took so long to type!
lol, molly
hey hey hey, we have pretty unpuny eggs here in da netherlands too
Thank you.
Molly has really colourful eggs!
I should have said outside of Europe, sprite ;)
LOL..those3 puny eggs are delish though, Molly.
ah ok! Then I agree ;)
Not sure how 3 got in there.
I miss those awesome eggs. About a foot high, present inside, chocolate for WEEKS
I love those too, Mael..but the thought of having to break them..lol
I have flirted with one... about that size and all filled with pralines. But too expensive. Left it at flirting ;)
Although once broken..i could not care less what it had looked like before.
when we were kids we used to throw them down the stairs still in their wrapping
then you had itty bitty chocolate pieces and you could get to the toy faster
now I want chocolate
I was just thinkng that!!
Godiva makes some pretty Easter candy. Too pricey for my budget though.
Aww my parents have just phoned..they are making me a meal...looks like today is going to turn out nice after all...well apart from being with Babblers of course...ok..ned to go..take care, All..will be back later...hope you all have a wonderful day/night..bye.
Enjoy zooz
aw how nice, zooz :D
Enjoy your day :)
take care zooz, enjoy the day!
hello everyone. Happy Passover / Easter
bye bye Zoozz xx

:-) Sprite
hotelchocolat.com has the really decadent Easter stuff.
morning Molly
Or could mean sore ish??
:D
Hi Mom
the list is coming along nicely
in the grid: name that gentle character from Game of Thrones :)
I love your list, Sprite
thanks Mom. It is fun compiling it :)
sorry mael, no idea.
me either, Mael
Now you've frustrated me Mael - I'm reading Bk 3 now and am set to record Series 3 on Monday!!!!
think big, liz :)
Hodor!!!!!!
bingo! :)
don't think we have that series here. Are the books fun?
Good clue. i keep seeing Cersei in the grid!
I'm loving the books!
I can't wait for the new series, though the books get a liiiiiittle rape-and-pillage-y for me
And it's worth googling the title sequence. A real work of art!
the opening music is AMAZING
Amazing is a good word and I love the visuals with it
will check it out later today. The books are by Martin?
George R R Martin
ok, thanks :)
www.youtube.com/watch?v=iN8PKcNGcuI for the theme
Time for me to scoot. (((Hugs))) to all of you. I wish you all a great day.
Have a good day Mom :)

There is a theory that er5 cause the behavior that caused the Salem witch trials. I don't buy it though, because it seems odd that it would have affected only teenage girls when the whole community ate the rye crop.

Hello Mr Bob
Hello Mr Bob Hi welki!
they are very funny to Watch taking turns chasing each other. But there are some tender moments and also some submissive gedstures fro the baby. She's pretty tough, though, probably from having had 4 brothers
Sorry, I am having trouble with BAbble today.

Bye for now car :)
{{car.}} happy Easter
white ones? never knew there was such a thing :)
they are pretty rare and usually have short hair. Our friend in Italy had a beautiful one named Casper and he was a real charmer and a European champion
wow...I bet they are beautiful
I've only seen the red ( in various shades ) and black
what is interesting to me is that no two chows look alie even if they are pure and related
I never saw a black or white CHow
really?
and ours, except for the two black ones, have all been "shaded blonde" with very little reddish fur
that's was to ruby's comment
both of our black ones were defective: Cleo died at two from what I think was a heart anomaly, because she never really grew up) and Max, drowned t 8 but was autistic. However, Ruffino's mother is bk and she is fine.
My dog's grandmother was a red chow..some blond shading but rather dark
they are lovely dogs with gentle dispositions but are muc like cats in their independence
her mother is black?
I found a 7 by myself. ri7.

hello everybody
hi ruby :)
i've just found id5 and feel like one for not finding it earlier :)
hi lilliann
I only have 136 words
I think I have to try and add an s to everything
how is everything with you, bert and ruffino ruby?
pl,pt and more of ruby
our new puppy, Rafaella, arrived yesterday and although she is wonderful, I am exhausted. I feel like a new mother and I'm much too old to be one!
41 left and i would like to finish it before 5am.saying that sometimes i don't start until 9/10pm
aww.i bet you are.they are alot of work and ruffino is still young, but you'll fall in love with her very quickly :)
she'll never replace my Ruby, though
i was thinking of getting a kitten as one of my cats died weeks ago but i'm not upto clearing out cat litter trays until it can go outside, so i've decided to enjoy my cat that i have left :)
we have had endless rain so the amount of mud in the house is scary
I was in a rush to get this pup because husband was such a mess after Ruby died, but he's barely a participant
ofcourse she won't.all our pets have their own personalities and will be loved for them
oh no.that doesn't good ruby.we've had alot of snow on and off and then rain and then floods, but we've been quite lucky where i live and no damage.only to the roads with great big potholes
it's a shame that you have to do all the work and puppies do need alot of time and care
she's pretty easy and the two dogs play a lot, ut I have been washing floors and towels all day
is there not a younger person who could take them out for walks for you?
the baby goes in the garden and husband walks Ruffino but that's all he does
I'll start walking Raffie if the rain ever stops
well, i suppose it gives you a break for a while and it's good for bert.just a shame he doesn't do anymore
well it start of british summertime here tomorrow, so hopefully we'll get better weather
usully if it's sunny in the UK (or rainy, for that matter), we get it 2 or 3 days later
you'll have to take a picture of raffie and put it on here so we can see her :)
she never stops moving when she's outside; so fAR ALL THE PIX HAVE BEEN BLURRY
well, aparently, we're not in for bad weather in the next few days and beginning to get warmer....we'll see
sorry for caps, blame it on my pinkie
maybe when she is shattered and asleep then :)
np
144 and good night, lilliann, it was nice to "see"you
you too ruby.tc and try and rest when you can :)
We have gorgeous weather here. Spent most of the day soaking up the sunshine. : )
That's good news Molly. We're having pretty weather here too.
Oh good West. It adds to the Easter cheer to have nice, sunny weather. I decided to take advantage of today as tomorrow is supposed to be rainy.
I'm not a fan of early Easter but we have to take what we get
Early Easter always freaks me out because no sooner have I taken the St. Patrick's Day decorations down, I am putting the Easter decorations up.
The neighbor across the street still has a giant shamrock on her front door.
hell, i still have halloween decorations up (hi all)
hi gwen and west.stuffed my face and now back to finish
hi again - back for the last 30
we had a lovely day today too molly, and it was 9 degrees...that's hot for here at the moment :D

maybe i wil make cookies....i am going out tonight and NOT staying home to make a last minute dessert.
at the end of the day, i'm on my own for easter and i don't eat cake

i haven't seen any TO and i have the lambs cam up.but i've not had it on all day. i think maybe one or two were born withing the hour as all the sheep were stood up which means that the farmers have been in the pen.they might have had to remove the ewe?
i will keep you updated :)
ok, see you later maybe. the poor things look bored to tears
actually it is ru as there is no sound :)
ru, you remind me so much of my husband with bad jokes that i don't bite anymore :) lol
I have 107 words left and have gone Babble blind. Guess it's time to do another chore and see if that helps again.
Hello all. 178 left...
they do TO, but as any preganant female of all species knows, that it can be very long :)
anyone have any H clues or stats before I go clean the bath rooms? (I'm really not ready to do that chore yet)
hi bzzn
Nef, you must be all better if you are doing all that work.
Been planting the garden today. Beautiful day here.
he4/6 a group of cows
thanks, lilli
he4/5, not he soul of the foot but the he
how about for the right H? I have 5 of 7 and I can't see any more from there (I'd forgotten there was another
hi5,5,5 words to do with the game when you look and seek
thanks again, I did have those
hi6/8 nearly the word to rent/let and nearly the word for opposite of to buy
and pt
got it! Thanks!
yw
the other he6 is group of cows and almost frosen cubes
thanks! That kills that H! :-)
yvw nef :)
I've never heard of that last one; even checking out the definition
me either nef, but it is like alo of words in babble :)
oh derr, just got the id 5
lol diz, i was the same...and hi
LOL! Me too, grannie. I felt like an id5 as it is plaine as day.
:-) hi grannnie
hi lili
Hi again :)
Hi smores.
hi smores. How was your hike?
lol...I did the same thing earlier today...thought id5 a phantom 'cause I was looking from the middle id
hi smores :)
it was nice Nef...even had a small snowball fight...l0l
Hey lilliann
Love snowball fights in 50+ temps :)
good for you, smores!
was that from the last of your lovely bunny smores?
no lill...he's long gone. The park we went to had a few very shaded areas that still had snow
my cat is sitting on my lap with her head rested on one of mr arms and she isn't very happy that i'm typing as i'm disturbing her!i wouldn't mind but i'm doing it one handed!
you could use our snow here. We still have plenty all around for everyone to take
:) how dare you distrupt her lilliann :)
i know last night he was a lump, but i thought maybe a big enough lump :) we still have snow in places in the colder parts of my garden
haha...no thanks nef
need help with GO 5/16 please
My brother lives up your way, Nef. He lives in Chisago.
go + the amount of money you owe - alt sp - it's actually a fabric insert in a garment
evening all
i know smores, she keeps wagging her tail unhappily and then gives me a dirty look..lol
beautiful sunny day here in upper 50s - sat out in the sun this afternoon
nice teach :)
hi glant :)
*sat out in the sun* - gasps - it has hardly been above freezing point for weeks here
I sually turn the heating off at the beginning of March and it's still on this eyar.
sounds lovely teach, but it was sunny where i live today and 9 degrees :)
Hi llliann
we have a "chance of snow" back in forecast for Monday - rain tomorrow
it was sunny until 9 this morniong and 4 degrees
thnx Glant - got it
so do i glant and i've even had my gas fire on in the lounge so, god knows what the bill's going to be like
yw
currently 59F...mid 50's tomorrow then back to the 30's with a chance of flurries on Monday
it turns out my gas fire doesn't work...
Bzzn, do you ever get up there to see him?
i need to find an engineer to sort it otu
Not very often.
the problem with that glant, is that it costs a fortune
We usually meet up at Mom's in KS
yes, i know and I am worried that if he finds soething wrong he might shut all the gas off...
It's 55 degrees (F) here right now. The snow is melting; but not near fast enough for the Easter egg hunt for tomorrow
that wouldn't be good. i take it you have a boiler for the hot water and radiators glant?
actually, stupid question, as you must have :0
oh, darn, Bzzn <visions of a meet up bursting now>
that's too bad Nef....
Chisago is a pretty area though
Why not have an Easter egg hunt inside?
you must have gas as you have a gas fire.if you're radiators are working i would try and carry on until it gets warmer and you don't need the fire or radiators on so much
gas boiler, yes. I am waiting until the heating doesn;t need to be on before I call the gas fitter.
nef, an indoor hunt is good. i couldn't always get out when the bairn was little so i always had an indoor easter hunt and wrote cryptic clues as she got older
at present the gas fire tap on the gas pipe is swithced off so I know it's not dnagerous but when I turn it on it won;t light
We probably will, Molly. It's for the grandson; I know that mykids used to do egg hunts in the snow when they were that age (but we didn't have a dog in the yardback then. It's pretty messy out there...
lol
hi folks
Hi weki
*welki
perhaps the ignition button isn't working glant?
hey welki :)
Nef, I agree - would be dicey to hold an easter egg hunt in the backyard this time of year (if you have dogs)!
hi welki :)
was it working before Giant?
the ignition button works, and once it went *poof* rather suddenly but now it does nothing so I think some ikind of safety cut out is operating
can't get the pilot light to ignite
that sounds safe at least glant
aye, then you're right about not using it until you can get it checked out properly
might just need to have the the line blown out - sometimes stuff gets clogged up in there. (please make sure there's no gas escaping)
it is a flueless gas fire - who knew there was such a thing
ah....yeah, probably right about a safty switch
call the gas man. better safe than sorry
I hate the way it looks, and the fireplace surrounding it - but a quick look around tells me I'd be looking at £1000 - £1500 to rpelace fire and fireplace
sounds like it might be a thermo-coupler. fairly easy to replace.
Ouch, Glant!
yes, i thought it might be the thermo couple
do you have a carbon monoxide detector glant? you can get them from b&Q i think and then you'll no t have to worry about the gas
yes i have a carbon monoxide monitor and it is OK
that's good news then
I just have to decide what I am saving up for - a shower cubicle or a new fire and fireplace LOL
yes, it is expensive to replace both unfortunately
that's good then glant
might go for the shower for now and work up to the fire & fireplace for next wnter LOL
Xnay on an Easter egg hunt in a dog poop yard. Ew.
clean and warm - or clean or warm - decisions, decisions :)
Ew is right
aren't houses a hassle at times?
well, hopefully we will be having spring and summer too soi would go for the shower cubicle. you can always wrap up in clothes and blankets :)
hello all. how's the grid today?
Houses are definitely hassle
good afternoon my babble friends
afternoon crossy
hy mom and crossy
hi crossy
hi momof5
Waltons time
it's not too bad mom :)
hi mom and crossy
hope all are enjoying their day. it is beautiful and sunny here in the nw today. nearly 80 degrees. sitting outside using my laptop to babble
not quite molly but we could all just wave our butts in the air instead of our hands :)
Hi momof5,crossy :)
L, you have the best suggestions.
sorry..listening to David Garrett
i'm going to shut up again before i get into trouble :)
LOL...like your troll?
hi smores
That is a gnome
Hi momof5, I'm jealois of your weather
don't i tho molly? :)
teehee...sorry lillian's gnome
Hi smores
troll!! how very dare you smores!! lol
Trolls are evil looking.
butts in the air?
it is unusual for us. no worries. back to 60 and rainy by thurs - as norm for nw
Word up
that's why i said butts in the air smores.lol
just enjoying the san diego like weather while it is visiting
glad we got over that hump
sorry...distracted
lol ru
Beats the hi, hi, hi, hi hi, thing.
rurur you "crack" me up
I had to back into the conversation
lets wave our butts in the air, like we just don't care :)
lol smores
my jokes have been in ar-rears
but then, if you don't do the hi hi hi hi thing, someone is likely to say they're being ignored or invisible. lose, lose situation
oh, I don't mind the many His here, Molly. It's kind of like the TV program Cheers: go where everybody knows your name" etc.
oh ru, they're bad to start with and just get sooo bad...lol :)
very true welki
in fact they go right down to bottom ru
so how arse you ruru?
or as i'm watching my sheep ru, so baaaaahhhhed :) and they are so boring at the moment...not that i'm saying you are ru :)
are you trying to anal-yse the situation lillian/
oh no, i've done it again.last night people were saying sheep things not it's bottoms :)
Whatever you do pun people, don't use the word "fanny"
why Molly?
i'm keeping my mouth shut for a change
lol molly.mmm, i'
lol molly.mmm, i'
Ask L about that Nef. It's dirty slang in the UK.
if we get enough butts in the air we shall all have a place to park our bicycle
oops
oh, dear.
yes, i mentioned that too :)
Do the D's ever end?
fanny is another word for womens private parts nef
The Ds end. The REs seem endless
no.
lol crossy.actually if we have enough i can park my mobility scooter :)
there ya be:)
I still need 9 Ds
How weird is that? On of my online nurse friends is from Australia and lived in England and her name is Fanny! How very odd that it's not a nice word!
actually, I still need 94 words!
I still need 21 D's. Sigh....
*ties fingers*
well, it is a slang word nef.fanny in england was an old fashioned girls name.you don't hear of it now
was not fanny also used for a time as a term of endearment in the uk?
*bites fingers*
i never heard that one crossy
just a girls name and private oarts
I'm sure it was, by certain dirty old men.
i'm not sure crossy, never heard of it that way
*parts
lol,most likely
she's about late 20's, had her first baby this past year. I wonder if it has the same meaning in Aust?
we had fanny craddock, who was a cook
(And if so, why would her parents give her that name?)
this is from wiki: fanny= A British, South African, Australian, New Zealand, and Irish term for the female vulva
same meaning here, Nef
late 20's, that is an unusual name now for a person so young, but saying that, alot of the older names are coming back, like phoebe, ruby alice etc
there was a book called Memoirs of a Woman od Pleasure, and the main character was called Fanny - I wonder of that;s the connection?
a name change would be in order if residing in those areas i am thinking
or it might be a shortening of Frances?
it says that as well
oh..
i knew a frances and she was called fran not fan :)
I just went to a dinner theater production of "Ring of Fire with my Aunt the other day. It was a musical all about Johnny Cash, and they sang "A Boy Named Sue." I wonder why Fanny's parents would give her that name now?
since my grammys name was frances,i had to look it all up
that's what i like about babble. we learn something new everyday :)
yup.always something new and interesting
I thought a Vulva was a swedish car made by women
lol,that is volvo i think,ru
RU!
oh dear, i'm putting my head on my arms now ru :) they are getting soooo bad...lol
there is a riot going on in the emerites area seems someone is trying to market the ipad femme.it is not going over well i gather
Oh, I have a volvo in my garage LOL
alike the bic pen for her fiasco
i am sure you do glant!
well.. I bet it would be easy to get mechanics to tune them up :D
lol glant
it has a flat battery...
because it hasn't been used for 6 months LOL
not going there...
take it away,ru:))
oh no, now you've let them in glant :)
sorry, that sounds so wrong :)
they are chicken
FWs
battery for what?
sorry, the mrs will not let me rotate other peoples tyres or jump start batteries
woo hoo Diz
LOL...wow...leave for a couple minutes :)
I have 18 left
YAY, dizgrannie!!! WTG!!!
wtg diz! :)
all hell breaks loose,smores
WTG diz !! :)
battery for the starter motor ru :-()
And no one mentioned a lube job...go figure...
we just need to add a bunch of booze to the mix now
lmao molly
we were trying to have a stimulating chat smores :D
too easy,molly
I don't even want to ask, Molly
it's molly's fault for bringing up fanny :)
Figures :D
or putting things up on hoists
Always my fault L, I'm the black sheep of Babble. Baaa!
*wonders what the hood ornament would be on a Vulva*
Probably a maidenhead
it would be small and hard to find in the dark at any rate
i get enough blame aswell so i'm just sharing and you did say it even though i brought it up the other day
LOL
My friend drives a Vulva
LOL
ah, volvos are known for safety so no hood ornaments :-)
omg, what has this chat come too. it's like the child telling her parents off.come on people get your minds out of the gutter :) lol
Too bad none of you have seen the movie "Crazy People". In their ad campaign, the slogan was VOLVOS, THEY'RE BOXY BUT THEY'RE GOOD.
most fun I've had all day
yes,out of the gutter and down to the sewer
ah, boxy. another word which has different connotations
because bix in the UK means - to fight, a container, and a hedging plant
<---innocent as a white little lamb
nothing else at all
Which is why I mentioned it Glant. Black sheep and all that.
unlike in the US
better move away from ru,just in case he is hit by a bolt of lightning
i have a clean mind and don't want it brainwashed hehe
I thought Liliann was the black sheep?
are there two of you? oh dear....
crossy wanders away into the grid, leaving the chog in total disarray behind him...
oh thanks glant, nowt like making a person feel good about themselves!! lol
aye, molly is just as bad :)
;-D
Probably more than two Glant, according to the pompous and judgmental. Such is life. As in, who cares.
oh, are people being pompous and judgemental again? glad I've missed it...
There are pompous and judgmental in BabbleLand?
at times like this ,it is always nice to watch the carl sagan video pale blue dot then everything becomes nothing but a bit of idle fluff on the wind;)
just wave your butt at 'em :)
oh, don;t start about fluff, crossy
haha smores, hi all
then i can park my bike;)
becaus that's what hapens when you wave your butt too vigourously LOL
lol,glant
Hmm? wonder if I can find a waving butt icon?
hiya peri :)
Hi Peri
i am sure we can come up with one
exactly.we are who we are and if people like us then great and if not then so what. i can't change who i am and i'm a better person than alot in the world, and i would give my last penny to help
a fanny flag?
teehee
Sh1t. I always miss the good bits.... C
you can find anything on the internet
we not longer have pennies, will have to give you my last nickle
HI Soodle, read the last 10 minutes or so, you'll giggle
LOL @ Soodle.
LOL...ruru
soodles!
or in the archives, peri!
oh, i have a wriggly gnome on my phone.flask sent it to me ages ago, but saying that, it might have gone now
hi soodles :)
I would think a fanny flag would always be at half mast
it's all molly's fault.i blaming her for everything, so i come out smelling of roses for a change :)
lol ru
*trying to work that out*
Crossy, Lilli, Molly, Smores, bzz, peri, ruru et al. Sounds like an average Babble evening. :-)
"should never be at half mast when trying to salute the fanny flag
can you imagine if i put up a fanny flag as an icon?it was bad enough with my gnome
Half mast...That's what I say about the trousers the young men wear now days.
lol crossy
the police like that trend, bzz, they cannot run fast and are easy to catch
Fanny flag?????
omg, aren't they bad bzzn.they're down to their knees and then the boxer shorts are showing and the cracks of their butts...not nice
Fanny Flagg's an excellent writer
Not the police in our town. They can't catch their noses...
Google it. American author. We know of your sordid meaning for fanny, thanks to L.
they're practicing to be plumbers lillian
perhaps they should investigate the origin of that fashion trend before adopting it
I hate them, lill.
okay...gonna check out the grid a bit..between David Garrett and chat I haven't entered a word in over 30mins
well they definitely need to plug it ru
oh, no, he'll start again now
i saw a comedy act about boys and their baggy pants -- funny punch line is that they can only shuffle now, not walk as if they are coming from the bathroom with TP stuck somewhere.ha
I've thought of working out in the yard with my ass hanging out, but then...
I'm not sure which is worse: the drooping falling-off their butts pants or the ones that are so tight they can't fit in them
lol bzzz
lol bzzz
Fanny Flagg may be a wonderful writer, but you gotta question her parent's motives when they named her.....
lol mom
brb, going to make some tea
lol bzz
either way, it's too much detail for those of us with the view
people might think you a hoe bzz
Like Sigourney Weaver's parents....,
I could write a book about the things I see from my windows.
i still have none of the 9s. any clues
thank god the trousers are low in the front!
re9 - to vote in again past tense
*aren't
For instance, the mad that has a motor scooter but no gas. So he pushes it up the hills and rides it donw the hills.
mad = man
re9 - the mkae up your mind again
bye for now.. have to run some errands.. thanks for the laughs
got the re make up my mind
Yay Glan. Thanks for a load of words!
Ok all you dirty UK people, her in the US, Fanny is a nickname for Frances. Just like Dick is a nickname for Richard. Neener.
Really who wants to see a Dick Flag?
Thanks for the 9's.
Not me, Ru, not me...
I don't know but NASCAR people like Dick Trickle.
And The Oscar Goes To....... When Richard Met Frances......
not I, ru
My grandmother's name was Fanny (holding head up high, proud of her grandmother)
bye ru.ty too for the laughs
there ya have it
my husband's first name is Richard. He goes by Rick. Otherwise, he was teased as a kid because his last name rhymes with 'stork' -- which made him "Dick Dork". Poor kid. Now he laughs about it
oh boy
seth
oops
down to the last 8. All REs. I hate REs.
Every Richard I know goes by anything but Dick.
We all hate re's
when i was a kid, a friend of my parents went by Dickie. not sure why anyone would do that to their kid -- he was born in the late 50's
we don't mean any harm with the names jave, i'm sure she was a lovely woman
just found a strange re. to resound again. I didn;t read it right first time LOL
i use to look after a man called john thomas and his dad was called ivor john thomas
*java
I went out with a John Thomas, very briefly
Oh, I know that - there is no way to add the grin on my face unless I type "grin" and I didn't
I've known several Dicks; and then there is the sport shop by that name too.
ty for the sound again words, glant
I've known lots of dicks and none of the were named Dick.
lol bzz
Before I married, my maiden name was O' Carroll. Following the nuptials, when I returned to work, an elderly colleague said 'oh Hello Mrs Higginbottom'. I haughtily replied ' its not Higginbottom', its Dickinson! To which he replied ' I knew it had something to do willies or arses'.
LOL! Of the guys I know named Dick; only one fit the "bad" definition of it. The others are pretty nice guys
i was going to say something glant but i think some people might have had enough of smut for one night :0
you're probably right Liliann
lol soodle
LOL, Soodle.
She was a lovely woman - and didn't like her name; she wanted my mom's middle name to be "Frances" and was furious when the hospital got it wrong. She refused to acknowledge it and insisted it was Frances, not Fanny (for my mom's middle name)
as my daughter will say when she gets uncomfortable with the conversation, "oh wow, look at those trees"
anything to change topic for her. trees, squirrels, etc.
my dad's parents gave him ahis 1st and 2nd name and had him batised with the names and registered on his birth certificate but all his life, they called him by his middle name.why didn't they just name him that in the first place?
Java, I know a nurse friend in England who is from Australia (we discussed this a while ago). Her name is Fanny and she's in her late 20's, just had a baby last year. I can't understand why her parents would have named her that when it isn't a nice word there.
Most Welsh forst language folk are called by their middle name
*first language
People give their children weird names all over the world. Years ago, I heard about a little girl named (of all things) "Rotunda"
Finally got all the D's!
that'[s why then glant as they were and my dad is welsh
ah, that explains it
I have been looking for an RE4 for ages. You'd think my monkeys could find it.
I'm not happy about the name my daighter has chosen to name her baby. But, what can you do...
lilli, my DH and son are named the same; but I'd never call my son Junior. We've always used his middle name too; just as DH's family always called him his middle name too. If we had to do it again, I'd reverse the 2 names (knowing what I now know)
And then there's George Foreman who named all his sons with the first name "George". I'm sure they are all addressed by their middle names.
rotunda is different.what would you shorten it too?
rotund wouldn't be good
LOL Lilliann
Rot would be worse
didn't George Foreman also name his girls George?
I had a student named Shitia.
"Da" wouldn't be good either
found the Re4!!!! 2 left
Oh, too funny BbbbnBea - bit not for her
my husband and his dad have the first name but one is shortened and the other not
Da means good in Welsh
My late MIL requested that her name be remembered in my daughter's name. But her name was Mildred. I called my daughter Sarah Louise.
I called her Tia
No regrets!
my friend is a midwife; she tells of one of her patients wanting to name her daughter Vagina
OMG!
Oh never, Nef?
Probably misheard Regina
my daughter's middle name has her grandma who is not here anymore and my mam's name, that's where my babble name comes from
High school friend had the name "Trebor" (pronounced tray-bore). She said her parents didn't have a girls name picked out, so they spelled "Robert" backwards
fireworks
bbl - time to eat
her late grandma was lillian and my mam's name is ann, but it is lilli-ann
Trebor is also a brand name in UK - a confectionery company
I'm serious! The young mom was from SE Asia, she thought it was the prettiest word she'd ever heard. Karin really tried to explain that it wasn't appropriate.
wtg glant!! :)
very pretty
When I had my second daughter, the women in the other bed told the lady who came in for the birth certificate that she was going to call the baby Shit Head, so she didn't care what they put on the birth certificate.
trebor, that's a sweet company :)
i was going to be called timothy owen
anybody want a clue before I go to bed?
My late Grammas name was Mary Ellen. I was called after her. That was pre Walton Days!
charming bzzn
Thanks, glant.
I was going to be called Natalie, but as my given nae was Wood, my parents didn;t want people to think thy had called their child after a film star
i have 12 left so will plod on glant, but thanks anyway
Sweet dreams
sure. still need the other 9. i have the one where i re make up my mind
i used to love the waltons
Night Bea. Sleep soundly.
Well happy babbling all, and Nos Da! Good night.
I'm not going anywhere. Thant was for glant
Very Irish, though, Soodle. My Aunt Mary had 6 first cousins all with Mary as their first name. Mary Elizabeth, Mary Ireene, etc...
I still have 69 words left.
Nos Da glant. sweet dreams and tc
Nos Da Glan!
Niters Glant!
Nef, my Dads the eldest of 15. Mom's the eldest of 11. I have over 100 first cousins. Many of whom I've never even met !
What can I say? No TV in Ireland until the sixties.....
I have 58 on my Mom's side; we were all very close growing up (while my Grandma was still alive) We still get together every few years (trying to do it more than just at a wedding or funeral)
my mam's mam's name is mary
there were 9 in my Mom's family
that is alot of cousins soodle
I'm still thinking about growing up with 8 sets of aunts and uncles; trying to imagine having 25 sets of them! Yikes!
there were about 9 in my nan and grandad's families.but i think, in late 1800s and early to mid 19oo's families were big
now, we don't tend to have so many children per family
they were, lilli. Because so many didn't survive to adulthood and they needed help on the farms I guess
Big families were needed to take care of the famrs.
farms
and yet if you think, our families had it alot tougher than us
My Dad was brought up in a two bedroomed cottage. No running water, & 14 siblings. No washing machine. No dishwasher. My Grandma married my Granda when they were both 17. And she cared for him for 10 years after he had a stroke.
yes, but even in this country alot of families were big and they weren't farmers. my dad's side who are welsh worked down the pits
I remember in grade school I had a lot of classmates with more that 6-8 siblings; even 14 kids in some families. One kid I knew ended upwith 20 siblings though (and a very nice family too)
that is a tough life soodle and the kids today complain if the tv isn't working!!
20 siblings!
my mam's mam had a big family and as she was the eldest, she had to look after the others
LOL! there was no such thing as saying you were bored! The adults would find some hard work for you to do if you so much as *thought* you were bored!
exactly soodle, there were no electric appliances.tin baths and a netty
yes, lilli; 21 kids and I believe they all ended up with college degrees! As each reached 16; they went out and got jobs and helped the others through school
I have the happiest memories of going to my Grandma's house, for the month of August each year. God be with the days…
did they ever have electricity and running water, Soodle?
how great nef.that is a well brought up family
they were indeed. lil. It was a pleasure to know them.
i have the same great memories soodle when i use to go to wales for 6 weeks with my brother.apart from the mushy peas, runny jelly and having to eat raw carrots so i could see my way to the toilet.it was great. i use to go to the grotto with my grandad .he was a very tall but quiet man
They have it now Nef, but back in the day, we used to go to the well, about 10 minutes away, several times a day. I have drank many different types of bottled water, but to this day, water from the well at my Dads is the best water EVER!!!
what wonderful memories! :-)
brilliant soodle
yours too, lil
An uncle of mine was a photo enthusiast back in the day. I know of a photo of me, slurping out of a bottle ( so whats new?), and my brother, my mam & dad & my uncle Lou, (now departed) Its in black & white, but the composition, and the ambience of the picture is astonishing. I will post as soon as I find the darn album its in........
58 left; should I go clean my bathroom (I did one now a while ago); or should I list?
they were nef.it's just a shame i can't remember alot more.i remember walking upto the pub with my grandad every day and then i'd walk home nad play for a couple of hours and then my grandad and his 2 friends would be sat on a bench outside the school near my grandparent's house and i would be stood opposit them every day waiting for him to cross the road and then when he crossed we would hold hands and walk a couple of minutes to teh house
sweet, swet memories.... :-)
that sounds great soodle and would love to see a pic.i must admit i love looking at my families old photos.i think they look good even in black and white.maybe because it was more family orientated?
Pshaw!!!! Clean the bathroom????? Lol, Nef!!!!! Playbabble!!! Dotcom!!!
clean...pffttt.not when there is babbling to do :0
a dirty bathroom will be good for you immune system
hi everyone :)
for your i meant
we have Easter vigil in an hour; I'm trying to plan my evening/night....
hi wyrd
hey lilliann :)
hi wryd
wyrd (sorry)
sokay Nef :)

Hiya Liz. :-)
Happy Easter to you, Soodle (haven't seen you before to say that)

And right back atcha Liz. :-)

hi cos :)
Hi, cos.
Sorry you had a long day.
i don't know whether one was born earlier with help ouside of the enclose as all the sheep were stood up and they only do that when people go into their pen
worked, then hasd to buy food for tomorrow :P
What are you cooking, cos?
ham, asparagus, hash brown casserole and dinner rolls. just the two of us so we're doing it simple
Sounds yummy.
I love asparagus.
sounds good cos, but i 've never heard of hash brown casserole :)
And ham.
sounds good - we often prefer just to be the 2 of us. Sometimes it's more fun - just lots of laughter. Guests tonight are quite serious people :(
just me and the cat tomorrow :)
But they are nice people :)
Glad you said that lilli - I was wondering!
oh, dear, Liz. Nothing like a bunch of serious people to squelch a good meal
I didn't want to cook for a crowd so we did not invite the kids up for dinner.
They'll be fine - we've got a lot in common but there are some things that they take very seriously!
I haven't wanted to go or see any one lately. Old grump.
Esp to do with religion!!!!
oh my, Liz. Just keep the conversation off the wrong topics then
Certainly will!
Sometimes a good debate is fun - but you've got to be in the mood for it!
and it can't ever be about THEIR religion I bet!
We share the same religion but they're much more literal in their interpretation.
But as I said, we do really like these people.
fireworks!
Congrats lilli :)

More likely by people from another forum where it's a chat log.

hi again. Church is done, and I have 42 words left to find. THEN the bathroom cleaning; setting the table for tomorrow, and final food prep... (I may be up a while....)
Hi nef. Just spending a little quite time. I colored my Easter eggs this evening and hubby helped. He really enjoys mixing colors but I said quite firmly that the brown mixture was not to be used!
LOL! I have brown (onion skins gave it the color) dyed eggs. A Latvian friend taught me how to dye them; but she uses leaves and tiny flowers to tied tight to them to decorate them.
They're from several years ago and have totally dried out
I forgot to put out my fancy eggs! I think I'll do that in the morning.
what type of fancy eggs do you have?
I was going to try doing some Ukranian eggs a few years ago but the classes didn't work with my work schedule. I'm tempted to try take those classes this year

Hello all...
howdy, all! :-)
Hi jes, Une...
hi people.
Ooh, jes..I'm supposed to be getting a puppy tonight or tomorrow...
yah? what kind?
Boston terrier
how exciting, jellen! :-)
Not really young, but still less than a year old...
a little older isn't bad - hopefully that means he'll already be house trained
Unfortunately, he is not completely house trained...
oh-oh. That's a pain (to me at least)
I don't know anymore if our 14 y/o schiz-poo is trained or if we are....
His previous owner isn't too disciplined...
that's frustrating. but shouldn't be too bad to teach him
I was going to try crate training him...
Good Luck, Jellen. I hope he's a great dog for you!
Thanks, Nef...I hope so, too!
i think kennel training is one of the best things you can do for a dog
What are the best kind of treats for training?
It seems to work for a lot of dogs, doesn't it? (Our dog goes crazy though when he's locked in a kennel here at home. He does go in the kennel at the groomers though
depends on the dog. i'm mostly just using praise with Little John, because he is so responsive to it.
some dogs are food motivated enough that you can just measure out the food you would give during the day, and feed it out a kibble at a time as rewards through the day, then give whatever you haven't fed out to them before bed.
2 of my 3 dogs go to the crate on their own -- seems to feel cozy and comforting (w/ door open)
my dogs are VERY food motivated LOL!
i'm fond of low-calorie treats, especially for small dogs, because they are so easy to get fat; carrot sticks, ice cubes, apple slices. if you use hot dogs or cheese or something, cut it into really really small pieces
Gotcha!
Our dog loves carrots and apple slices and oranges.
when you kennel train, make sure that the kennel is his happy place - don't use it as a punishment. Put his bed in the kennel, feed him in the kennel, keep his toys in the kennel... when he's not locked in, it should always be open so he can go get a toy and bring it out, and he should get a treat or there should be something good in the kennel when you put him in
and don't ever let him out when he's crying!! that just teaches him to cry in the kennel. even if it means you have to hide around the corner and jump into the room to open the door when he pauses for breath, wait until he's quiet to open the kennel
Where should I locate it? I was thinking the living room or my computer room...
http://chewelahveterinaryclinic.com/do\ngs/cratetraining.php
really, jes? Our dog actually bites at the wire door and throws himself against it til his mouth bleeds. I don't know why or what it is that makes him do that; but I'm afraid he will really hurt himself badly at that point --and I let him out.
Wherever you want him to sleep at night - sometimes that means having multiple kennels. Little John's is in the living room.
Really Nef- once they learn that crying or barking causes the door to open, it will just get worse; if you ignore it, they bark louder and longer, or start doing exactly what your dog is doing, and escalating to pawing and scratching and flailing at the door.
Rewarding calm behavior is way more effective than trying to punish the frantic behavior.
my crate works well in the room adjacent to the living room -- can hear what's going on but still quieter than being in the middle of things
Once they're too the point you describe, it's a lot harder to train them to be calm than it is if they are neutral/just starting
if you dog is shy or you want to use the kennel as a retreat away from kids or company, i'd put it in the bedroom or a utility room instead of the living room.
Thanks for the link!
well, we haven't tried kenneling him for years til this past 6 months when he started peeing on the carpet after he was so ill last fall. His previous owner had kennelled him at one time; but he ended up injuring himself
if you want to work on yours, nef, i'd start with taking the door off of your kennel and leaving it where the dog can get to it any time, and only feed in the kennel - if he wants dinner, he goes in. he's not trapped, he's not stuck, nothing bad happens.
tell him to kennel, give him a treat when he goes in, let him immediately back out before he has time to get frantic
find a really high-value treat that he ONLY gets in the kennel; rawhide or a favorite toy, or whatever
good idea, Jes. I'll give that a try next week
when he's comfortable eating in the kennel and then coming back out, (and this may take days or a couple weeks) put the door back on, and keep feeding him in it with the door open.
when he's comfortable with that, start shutting the door, but staying close by, and when he finishes eating but BEFORE he starts pawing or whining, open the door.
8 words to find! I want to finish (I'm going to shut up for a minute, okay?
then step it up to waiting until he's done eating and ask him to sit (i assume he knows sit and will do so reliably outside the kennel? if not, work on that too)
when he sits, immediately open the door of the kennel. very gradually, extend the amount of time he remains in the kennel before you let him out. expect it to take weeks or months before he is comfortable hanging out in the kennel without crying - you're trying to unlearn a pretty pronounced behavior, and that's not going to go quickly or simply.
he does follow some commands; but only from me and my grandson; he doesn't follow commands from DH
finish the grid?! hahhaha. though if someone could clue the upper left e, that'd give me no blank tiles.
