that worked erda.. thank you
I have 40 to go now
You're welcome!
If ti 7 is the queen of the fairies, how can there be a plural
I have 90. I'll list. I tend to list at nbs/nbt 1/2way. Especially during tax season.
At least it gives me nbt and nbs at last
Several actresses have portrayed that role...
we have so many queens here chrissie.. I couldn't answer that
nbt/nbs at last!
lol
Snap jilli :)
It's also ti5/10ium dioxide, so that can be pluralized ..
good night all.. nice to see you m9.. missed you around here
Sleep well ru :)
ti7 is a chemical -- TiO2
night ru!
ty tor, didn't know that
And ty jilli

well if that don't float your boat I don't know what will
Oh, that one -- I did see that

I love Maggie Smith
she was in the incredible marigold hotel or something.. love her..she's a great one
Dreadful movie doesn't apply to Quartet
That's one I want to see
dreadful is the other movie jilli
Saw that marigold hotel too -- fabulous.

Hello all and good luck on the brain power this morn=lol
my brain can't fnd 4 letter words - well, not appropriate ones, anyways
Im not even half way and my brain has shut down already
I'm down to 97
but i did resort to al list at half way
You seasoned pros make me smile - I've only got 47 and my eyes have gone completely!!!
'seasoned pros' has a good ring to it, sounds better than 'addict' LOL
If I get to the halfway point I feel thats a wonderment in itsself
If I ever got em all they would have to pick me up off the floor
but each day I learn a new word or two
when you're been playing a while you gte to know the 'babblets' - odd words that crop up again and again, but which you never use in everyday speech
I just found this site at the end of last month
nice bunch of people here and because it's worldwide, there's always somebody around, day or nigt, whatever your time zone
it's well worth the once on a lifetime fee to go 'pro'
where in the world are you puglet?
I though so just after a few days here.Everyone seem so nice and all. I just wish I was a tadbit smarter on lest common words
Im slow--sorry
Im in the US
the thing that often catches me out is that both US and UK spelling thing
and remembering to add an S to the end of all my words if there's one in the gridLOL
so for example, the rubber things a car runs on is spelt 2 ways today
and pluralled both ways
I dont know how to get my flag by my name---------OK thanks for the imfo
Morning you two, just joining in your chat. Er added to lots of words too
morning maisie
morning Maisie and ths
the other thing that's very useful is a website called 'morewords' as you can search for words when you have the start of them
Nice to see a bit of sun this morning
Nice to see a bit of sun this morning
and have you found the link to Lickety just under the puzzle - he often posts a list of all the words
we got rain but al least the temps are the warmest yet here for spring
our sun came yesterday but is nonexistent today - just grey grey grey
no but I will
It was nice yesterday near London, managed to take my coat off for a while
i put washing out to dry for the first time this year yesterday
Our spring is trying to break out but its having trouble pulling away from old man winter
Clue for the bottom H pls I've got the animal
clue for the TI8 - pl of the queen of the fairies in a midsummer nights dream
titanias
so the TI7 is the singular *grin*
sorry
yes, Maisie, that's the ione
I'll give you a cue for the other 8 if you promise not to tell LOL
lol thats the trouble with chatting
it is indeed, we all do it sometimes
OK promise
IR8 - a substance which can harm your skin or eyes,
OK promise. Moves cursor quickly
a thing which annoys you
got it ty
i still have 5 x 7 to find
and millions of 4 letter words, why are thye so difficult?
thanks guys-gotem too
su7 - to have an operation
ty nice twisty word to find
it followed on from 2 others with a different meaning
to do with sudden flow of water
Got those but didn't think to extend the words. Tis still early for a Sunday morning
change the first letter to a p and you have soe more - almost all the Pu words have the same 3rd letter
us
right, 50 left, saving them for this evening, happy babbling all
*poof*
Have a nice day
hagda
Im out of here too
Bye have a good day
ea

about time we got a nice one. Last few days were brutal.
yes, they were quite fiesty
I have to say, those brutal ones have their own charm.
Yesterdays was tough, but fun
yes, exactly. Lovely challenge.
although I didn't quite finish it...got down to 20 something
stopped to watch a movie with my daughter and fell asleep
at some point chat became pretty intensive on a topic I know nothing about... had to focus on the grid and managed to finish it :)
aw that is so sweet!
hm... I guess rearend needs a - as in rear-end.
lol...or a mouse

Hello everyone..I have come to relax with all of you

Hi lynxx
Evening Lyxxx :)
in that case, you deserve a day off too, Mich
No, Sprite, I am in this pickle because of too many "well deserved" days off.
never mind Michnick - it will all still be there tomorrow

I just LOVE how you look at things!

alas..it is but a phantom
Well, yeah, in British folklore.
yes. I thought it might be a bit of a clue.
on the ocean. Darn, I'll never learn.

couldn't find my final A word. And again it is the on the ocean word. I never seem to be able to spot it.
ah...looking
you may already have it, smores, it is a rather common word
Well, my time is up...just past 1/2.....must get ready for church.
morning all!
Hello Sue, eerily quiet in here this morning.
morning all - nbt in 23, I must admit, that one feels good
it is, isn't it?
hi trif! good for you!!
it doesn't happen very often, as I struggle with determining which word comes from which letter, so I am happy
Hi all :)
hello liz
hi liz!
Hi Liz
is liz your real name?
I'm happy to be called liz :)
I only ask because elizabeth is my real name...
Ahhhh! A good name :)
to be fair, only a very few people call me liz, I usually go by the whole thing
I made the decision at about age 10
But I'll answer to Elizabeth too - but only to people who've known me a very long time.
I made mine when I went to college out of state. I grew up being called "beth" or - dread- "bethy"
my daughter's name is elizabeth ( I still call her by that name) but her friends call her liz
hi annie!
how funny, lizlin! I am just the opposite, then. People who have known me a long time call me beth, people who I have met since college call me elizabeth
Never was called by either of those. Most of the family call me Liz.
hi uu, How is Frank?
its a great name annie - I am glad its mine. you can do a lot with it.
I love the name.
he's struggling more with the chemo, annie, it is really starting to wear him out
I'm also happy with my name and certainly think of my initial as being E not L!!!
im sorry to read this news, uusue. I have been thinking of you both
Sorry to hear that Frank's struggling with the chemo - lots of warm wishes from here.
I think of Frank and you too. Frank is in my prayers.
thanks, trif and liz! four more cycles and then he gets a rest from it.
thank you, annie!
That'll be a welcome break for both of you.
it will indeed, liz!
Mental note: No Lizzy or Lizbet : D
speaking of prayers, yikes! I need to leg it to church....I will tell god you all said hi.
i hate my name lol..
Aw, poor Ivesy : )
morn all . .
lol.. my father named me.. guess he didnt like me.. roflmao
bye trif!
and hi ivesy and sugr!
bye trif, hi sugrr
and hi sue, molly . sugr.. bye triff
and I must be off as well, see you all later!
Ah, men of a certain generation had a tendency to like old grandma type names.
yes molly . u got that right.well least they didnt call me minnie after my gramma
change subject here.. what can i use to clean computer screen. its filthy.. does anyone have idea?
I had an Aunt Gertrude and an Aunt Mildred. I always felt sorry for them because of those names.
had an aunt babe! lol.. aunt teeny.. omg
Hmm, anyone nicknamed Teeny is usually anything but. : P
lol.. she was huge !
good morning everyone! Woke up to a balmy 59 degrees this morning :-)
Ivesy, I use Windex wipes made for electronics
hi ((Mom)) nice weather for you
ty mom.. will look into getting those.
((Annie)) I was pleased :-)
Hopefully it will make its way to the east coast
I use Windex and a paper towel.
you're welcome Ivesy
ivesy, i turn my screen off and clean with a damp towel
58 here , very pleasant.
good morning Molly and Nono
ok ty nono.. cant seem to get spots off of it.
No, Molly if you're still there! I'd prefer no Lizzy or Lizbet - but I won't stop talking to you if you use them!!!!!! ;)
morning babblers
Hi to those who've just joined the chog :)
I have finger marks on mine all the time from trying to make words so I can type them in
good morning, nono, how's the shoulder?
Hi Liz. My mom's middle name is Elizabeth as is my cousin who is called Beth
getting slowly better Annie
Nono, what happened?
Lots of us around it seems :)
such a pretty name
Yet, I've only met 2 others in "real" life!
broke yhe upper left humorus bone mom
oh Nono, I am so sorry to hear that
Ow! You poor thing!
ty
My mom's first name is Nina and I have only met one other person with that name
I never use a name for anyone that they haven't introduced themselves as. I find that very presumptuous.
Margaret is one name here that no one ever calls them self that. It is always some variation
have never 'met' anyone with same first name as mine but have seen or heard the name in the news
The only people I ever met who went by Margaret were nuns. : D
As an ex teacher, I always asked the kids what name they wanted to be known by - sometimes parents didn't like the names the kids chose! Nothing nasty - but a Josh for example, who was only ever known by family as Joshua!
:-) Molly so true
Liz, that was thoughtful of you
Nono, is your first name Nanette?
I guess it stems from my preference for Liz.
No, it's Noreene
I think that is the way it should be, Liz.
What a pretty name, nono
most people seem yo think so mom, but i
don't really like it
:-)
no way to make a shortened name of it, is there?
not really, thats how the Nono evolved
Reeny
A lot of Irenes go by Reeny.
don't hear many Irene's any more either
in college everyone tried to shorten it,,,i got Noti, Renie, etc and kept saying No don't call me that
lots of Regina's when I was growing up
My sil's name is Renee but we call her Reenie
Nori *
Yee Gods, my husband's grandmother was named Regina and they pronounced it like female anatomy.
so they started calling me nono
I always tell little kids to call me nono, because it's easier to say and remember
I knew a person who was the last one born in his family (we are going many years). When he started school the teacher asked him his name and he said his first, middle and last name and added mommy's baby darling because that is what she always called him
lol :)
lol mom
did he ever live that down? that is adorable
Have a good day everyone. I'm off now, with 100 still to find! But that seems like a good place to stop for now. :)
I doubt it, Annie
bye Liz
pleasant dreams, Lizlin
my sons name is jason... is called jase, jay jay, jay.. i call him jason... lol.. thats his name
bye Liz
our youngest is Alexander James and some family members wanted to call him AJ, nope ... Alex was where it started and stopped

hello all

That is sad that you thought your grandmother was scary, ivesy.
I think Clara is a very pretty name
omg! what a coincidence.

everyone thought she was scary lol..
I was hoping that my newest granddaughter would be named Clara.
Good morning all.
my grandmas's names were Ludwina (she was from Germany) and Martha
pretty name, bea
hi Bea
Henry and Wilbur were my grandpas
she was only about 4ft tall. but old italian ladies had tendency to be very serious
Yes, it is a pretty name, but not to be for this one.
very much so, Ivesy.
actually grandpas had very normal names.. sam and john. course all grandsons then were sam and john
my mother's name was Cecile Deliva
grandpa Henry, dad is Henry, brother is Henry, 2 nephews are Henry
what lovely names Nono
we had john, john, john... all the way down lol.. . same first names, same last names.. started calling them john the barber, john the plumber as they started working at those jobs.
I have a feeling when nephew #1 gets married in Sept. there will be another Henry in the mix should they have a son
my maternal grandfather was Henry Kirt -- we now have several Kirts in the family . . .
i like that name, kirt..
we had lots of johns as well. just yell john and someone would be in earshot
lol temple . us too
I like Kirt also
Some day I will have a grandson named Nollie Bob Bird IV. Not as entertaining to say as Nollie Bob Bird the Third.
Sweetie is Shaler Owen named after a great uncle down in the mountains of KY
one of my great aunt's (Hortense's sister) was Lady Bird
*aunts
sister names all hers with j...jessie, jay, joe
Have never heard the name Nollie before

Good day to all.
hi Scrabbs :)
buying FOUR new ti4/4
owl, that's a good idea
I had to buy 2 a few weeks ago so I could pass my state inspection.
Hi Bobby--watching NCAA basketball or focusing on baseball?
Scrabbs, He is following both sports
Who does he hope wins the championship, Annie?
Aha.
In basketball.
Louisville Cardinals, ( I just asked him)
That's who I think will win too. Unfortunately.
bea, when I told him what you wrote, he said, "Oh boy" and smiled
Tell him I am a HUGE Kansas Jayhawl fan.
Jayhawk
My mother went to Syracuse so we always root for the Orangemen.
morning all
He said, Michigan beat them. ( did they?) I just want to know if he is on top of things.
Hey Doren
hi Dorens
I got my MA from WSU and it is only about 25 miles from "home". I was tooring for them last night.
Yep, Michigan beat Syracuse.
rooting...I am dyslexic today.
thanks scrabbs.
I root for underdogs too. Wichita State was ahead in the 2nd half then Louisville came alive.
Yes, Louisville seemed to be stunned by the Shockers that first half.
I do not follow basketball, Bobby keeps me in the loop
Didn't want to go with the obvious..."Shocked by the Shockers".
hi doren
i am recovering from a crazy day. yesterday, picked up my grandkids from central park, took them to french restaurant for lunch with my daughter (their aunt Rachel), then saw Lion King, then great Greek restaurant with their parents and my best old friend, then Leonard Cohen with the latter. Got home at 12:30 and tried to complete the grid. Haha! and now i'm bleary.
Sounds like a fabulous day, Dorens.
how was, he, doren?
Whoa!
crammed a whole lot into it, that's for sure.. And exercise class in the morning too
ah, some of my favorite words, pu4 and 5
oh owl he was just fantastic. voice deeper and better than ever.. 78 years old, ran onto the stage and skipped off. played for three hours with one intermission. i love him.
wow, i envy you. he is not playing here. but i am looking forward to seeing rodriguez tomorrow
i don't know rodriguez. i don't know many of the new musicians. it must be what keeps you young, keeping up with new music, and i'm an old fogey.
Hurshy, I am not sure if I found those
rodriguez is not new; he is new again. or for the first time. he is sugarman of searching for sugarman film
meow
that's cause you have rabbits instead of cats, scrabs
:)
and you are not an old fogey.
Found 'em!
oh, yes i never saw that film and wanted to. will have to find it on netflix when i have time.
i heard it was great, but then again i heard that from my music friends. but he is sold out and I will see him courtesy of the station. or hear him more likely
that's great owl.. i'm sure it will be great
i just keep wondering why we never heard him? it was the kind of music that fit right in to the times.
if you get a chance, check it out. take you back to the day
talk about taking you back to the day, check out a book called true believers by Kurt Anderson. i'm chuckling throughout (not that it's funny.. just such nostalgiaa, and it is clever) well i've passed halfway and need to find some breakfast. bbl. happy babbling all
Bye Doren

:)
morning :)
hello jes
how goes?
good...U?
hello everyone
hello ruru
I was thinking Jess.. that there seems to be so much more drama in teenagers lives these days.. than when I was a kid...
Morning all! Hello ruru, phaeton, jess, welki and ruby
hi jilly
Oh I don't know. West Side Story and Rebel Without A Cause seem to document that there was plenty of teen angst in days gone by. : D
ayin
good morning ms montana
oops...how did that get there?
oh, how sweet of you ruru!!
He's darling
Jess, as a adult involved for more than 16 years in hs youth ministry, I can tell you...the teens today live in a much more stressful world than even my kids did 10 years ago...
i'm trying all sort of non-words
irgasm and angry climax
irgasm an angry climax
that is
ditto that-there's always been teen angst, but Facebook has added an absurd new level, jilly
ah.. I bet you're right Doren
the internet has added more...not just FB
Regasm, better than irgasm.
As is almost overwhelming expectations of teens by families, schools and society
come again?
missing the original post from jess about teenage drama - where is it?
so i saw leonard cohen last night and I'm in love all over again
I think this is a continuation of last night's discussion.
<---doren likes old farts.. doren likes old farts
The teens I work with are running from sunrise to midnight...little sleep. It's a travesty...
lucky gal - i know a couple of people who were at the concert last night - he's pretty amazing (did he sing 'closing time?")
:D
Hmm, Dorens likes you.
oopsie
thanks, molly
ru is younger than me---cant be an old fart in my eyes
<---now categorized
Oh, hence the arrow. I am so slow.
Jilly - How can they have any expectations when they never taught their kids to be anything but moochers?
Love Closing time.... "every new beginning comes from some other beginnings end"...what great lyrics
morning everyone
Excellent point Hoot.
Oh, I heartily disagree with that overy broad based statement hootowl
Not the teens I see...
I do like Leonard Cohen too though.. great song-writer
Not in the least
Thanks I expected to be dumped on.
That's an unfair assumption
Maybe it comes from growing up in NY and now living in Tenn!
Many kids have no expectations whatsoever. They are given cars, not expected to get jobs, and have all things paid for. I see where Hoot is coming from.
not dumping, i don't think, owl - just that we don't see the majority of hard-working and ambitious teens because they don't draw attention to themselves (like the moochers, the lazies and the trouble-makers)
dont think i heard closing time, and missed a lot of my very old favorites but three encores beginning with So Long Marianne. And his voice is sublime now. can't believe he is 78 though
(and, like you, i grew up in ny, too, owl!)
I work with kids who don't have all that much... parents losing jobs, or working two to try to make ends meet. but still mucho problemos
I realise that welki. I don't usually make blanket statements either. But it's gotten completely out of hand!
kids where I live are pretty much given everything
could be - because the 'haves' have problems, the 'have nots' have problems - everyone's having problems :(
the kid around the corner drives a nice car than I have
Hey they throw people in jail for stealing from the government and then re elect them when they are released.
What am I missing here?
I don't think anyone playing this game lives in a slum...
i hear it at work, too - can't make their financial obligations because 'they go to school' - don't have part time jobs, and yet i see they have iphone 5s and coach bags and ....
or has worked in one..
i worked in east orange for 15 years... west philly years before. methadone clinic on the other side of the fence of our school's playground. think it qualified as a slum
it was tough for me growing up poor and black...
If kids are exhausted, I wonder if it's because parents have laid the groundwork for that. Run to soccer, run to dance class, run to karate lessons, grab fast food, cram homework time in...etc...etc...
Patches, we're depending on you son.
LOL:D
I don't really think the majority worry about homework
east orange is a rough place
<---I smoked my "homework" in high school
and middle school was the roughest, welki. by hs the kids had either settled down or dropped out
or some are exhausted because they take care of their siblings before school, go to school all day themselves, take care of their brothers/sisters after school, try to do homework, maybe play a little sports after the folks get home - so many different scenarios
No matter the locality, or the amount of "privilege"...teen angst has always been borne out of the passage from childhood into adulthood and the drama that ensues. I think that is cross generational.
And some kids never go through that because they became "mini adults" in order to deal with dysfunctional parents.
exactly. so many different scenarios. kind of hard to make generalizations. I'm just glad I already raised my kids.. it is harder these days, for sure
But the subjects of that angst has changed tremendously!
dorens, the majority of my school years were spent in jamaica, queens - not the nicest area, but we did okay
jamaica today isn't like then though
it very much is, ru
jamaica did have some diversity, right? It has changed some now (had cousins there back in the day)
And please do not forget that the MAJORITY of teens (yes even my Catholic ones) come from divorce and blended families
really.. I heard it's getting pretty rough now
Well back then divorce was a nono. My parents were a perfect example.
everything is getting rough now (except napa valley :-)
I have friends that live in Syossett
I have friends that live in Syossett
there was a co-op complex built right in the middle of jamaica - on the old jamaica race-track - the diversity came from the white folks who lived in some (probably most) of those apartments.
Napa is getting rough..
:D
Divorce was a no no and kids lived with unhappily married parents. Many of whom turned to drugs and alcohol. But that was not spoken of either, back then.
the kids of those white folks, once they finished elementary school, were bused into schools outside the neighborhood - was an interesting time, i can tell you
Whe I went for mine , it was not about getting rid of a prison but 'what will the neighbors and the relatives 'think!'Me? No sweat!
me too, owl - if you lived with your mom, she certainly wasn't invited to any of the parent functions
Parent function? Never happened at all. I think I raised myself
my parents couldn't function after 7 oclock
that's not what i meant - my mother was a single mom in the 60s and was ostracized for being a divorcee (and like you, i was a latch-key kid who pretty much was responsible for my sister and myself - parents were like ru's)
hehehe - so maybe it wasn't the divorce that caused her to be ostracized - ossified, that's what i meant
we spent more time alone as kids than we saw our parents really
this grid just got snarky
snarky for me too. and i still have 80 left
Mine never divorced. We moved to the island and we saw him on sundays when he brought mom the paycheck.
86 here
hi all, 92 here
I think I need to list after all
Well, I think the point has been made that no generation has cornered the market on angst or drama. : D
so i guess the punch lines are: teenagers, now as in the past, are troubled.
I found out after he died that he had a steady in the city. My uncle told me, I think expecting a denial. I said good for him!
sheesh - and: the times, they're not a-changing
We just hear more about it now, due to media bombardment.
sorry. angst always has existed, but I think most people involved with kids these days have made the point that facebook has increased the drama exponentially
I agree with you doren.. i believe that's true
<-- thinks dorens should know, that's her schtick. not like the 'old days' when a 'slam book' was the ancient equivalent of FaceBook
Don't know how to explain this - she complained about everything I did or said and expected me to drop everything to do something for her!
wow. I wander away to read comics and everybody comes out of the woodwork to vent about the kids :)
LOL Jes....that'll show you not to step away
too bad you couldn't put her up on craigslist, hoot
I guess so, jilly :)
actually, it's the parents that bother me, more than the kids
No one would have her
we've tried that.. "Available..used MIL.. can be cranky, and uppity.. will never accept son in law.. etc"
no one took us up on the offer
but does mrs ru concur?
yes
ah, that does make it worse
You get very, very tired of being constantly told that you are wrong about everything! She even complained that my hair was to curly when I have always had naturally curly hair! My aunt heard it a just shook her head.
poor hoot - glad you survived
ditto
Are you talking about my gramma, hoot?
gotta run for a bit - later, good people
have a good one, welki
Can't believe there is more than one of her. Suffice it to say that the whole family is that way and that is why I finally left NY!
By welki hagd
I met the Bf, cut them all off when they started complaining on-line and I am very happy now!
heh. yeah, there's more than one of her - my gramma used to chide me non-stop about drinking more water and less milk, because milk would give me kidney stones.
it must be difficult being a pariah
then the first time i asked for a glass of apple juice instead of milk, she started in on how I need to keep drinking milk because it's good for my bones.
I'd have settled for kidney stones!
Good afternoon, Babblers!
G'morning Judi :)
*waves towel..heads for list*
I bought a sweater once..Multi-color horizonal stripes. Was roundely denpounced as an abomination by mom and 2 siteres
When I wanted to wear it I would have to rescue it from one of them!
But according to them it was a horrible sweater
You really get tired of being told that you are wrong about everything! And now I will shut up!
they were just trying to protect you from the horror by taking it away :)
riiigghhhttt!
My mom has sa4 that the reason she got married so young was so she could move out of her mom's house.
Out of the frying pan and into the fire!
truly they just had your best interests at heart, hoot
hah. yeah, my dad is pretty damned infuriating. but they are still married and will likely stay that way.
Didn't work for me. He just started doing the same things they did an addition to his own little jabs!
well that's not much of an escape then... :(
No - I was the rebel who didn't do what they told me to, especially when I knew it was wrong. There seemed to be a big target on me and they made sure there was never any peace!
Oy, family. Can't live with 'em and can't be totally cured by years of psychiatric therapy! :-p
:-p (rather).
i suppose i should go brave the ra4/4 to feed critters and haul in firewood. back in a bit.
Time for me to scoop the litter boxes and catch a nap. Later, kiddos! *POOF*
Good afternoon!
Hi Car, how is life up New England way?
Having a very quiet afternoon. Watching the Sox.
How are you?
I'm fine. I heard Fenway's sell out streak was about to end. I was shocked.
Ticket prices are very high.
It is nearly impossible to take the family in for a game anymore without dropping @ $400
And that does include food, parking, tickets, etc.
I figured it was a combination of that plus so many people being out of work.
Yup.
back again. anything important that i missed?
The boys have each been to a game with their dad, but we have never all gone together.
Hi Jesdraggon!
Prices will never go down until people start refusing to pay them.
All the sports big wigs are now stuck with pricey arenas they built expecting to pay for them with high dollar tickets...and the tickets are not selling.
how're you, car?
I am well. You, jes?
could be worse, could always be worse
I agree Molly. It is ridiculous.
su 7/48??
Hi sammysmom! Don't have it but can help you look.
good question....sadly, I haven't got the answer for you, sammysmom
now i do, actually. invasive medical procedure.
Wow! very twisty! TY!
thanks for prompting me to look :P)
I love this game. I don't have it - now I do all in the course of one minute.
thanks... was approaching it from wrong angle as usual
anybdy have stats for the left column N? that'll get me nbt

TMama? Sorry, meant TNana : D
I knew what you meant :)
How is your new grandbaby doing?
She had croup when I first got to Michigan, but she is doing much better now.
I was there for a little over a week, visiting. Just got home last night.
She turned 8 months old while I was there. So fun at this age.
Aw, poor baby. Glad she is doing better. Nice that you got to visit.
I am glad you got in a visit!
good morning :)
Hello Cyber!

not really -- 111 to go and at a standstill
sage
oops. sorry

so you're better :) just accept the hard truth, nan, you're good at this.
I have a pu 7
Got the IR 8! TY!
i have clawed my way to half done though
have the handbag and the ship's accountant, but no 7
Different word
pu 5/18 is the root word
plural of one who uses emetics

hi, nan, bichon, trents, jes, car :)
hi everyone, back for last 30

it's the pl of ti 7/28, a Shakespearean queen fairy
ty bichon - got it
yvw nan
er 7/32?
er7 was a band in the 80s, and if you remove pencil, you have that too.
very twisty
not the 6/18?
got it, ty
curling is on -- bbl
related to it, but not the 6.18, result of 6.18. :) go, go bichon
I wish I could get excited about curling
i have a bunch of friends who curl here. We have two leagues, both dominated by Canadians.
watch it for a while bichon - the screaming use to bother me but doesn't anymore - don't know if it's not as noisy or I've adjusted
you and nan feel about curling like I do about figure skating
I do love to watch figure skating
who screams? the players or the fans? If you go to an ice skating competition in Canada, that's where you'll hear lots of screaming
not the fans, the players
does screaming make the what ever you call it go better
have never attended a competition, just watch it on tv
they're actually calling to the sweepers
those are the people with the brooms. do people in the US wath this in TV?
Locally here we do.
don't know but a lot of Canadians do
on TV?
both at arenas and on tv
hi all....curling quite popular in Alaska as well
Do they watch Lacrosse in Canada?
hi gypsy
yes, the local sports network covers the local leaques, as well as the local cricket league.
hi flosey

one more G and I'll have the right column done. whoo hoo.
I must be too tired. When flosey thanked m9191, I started looking for a 9 letter word starting with M!
I like "one who of what we breathe" : D
Sorry Mich.. I've been the source of that confusion before!LOL
lol mich
So what's the weirdest g y'all have?
What does that mean M9191? Do you mean word starting with the letter G is there something more deep and esoteric that I am not getting?
LOL... I just need one more g word :-)
Weirdest g???
g's are all pretty normal, except possibly ga4/6 - a pl word, think it's a shortened name for a fish
hmm.. I have that one flosey
hmm... the ga5/14 is kind of unfinished word....to dress up a dinner plate
that was it! thanks gypsy!
Actually, that is a spice bouquet.
bingo! right column :-)
oh, ty molly
I'm missing ar5/10 following bodily limbs
it's a pl of a palindrome
and ar6/18, before brit word for backside
remember - - one who
and that one is NOT a pl for when you are behind on paying
M9191, I don't know if that is a plural, the singular (without the snakey letter) doesn't work)
two hooked letters Mich?
I know it's not a pl,LOL but it does work without stnake
hooked letters? I feel like Alice.....
the letter pirates say!
thanks m9 and mich, finally! got them
think my brain is numb
yay flosey!
actually, it is, feels like a lump of clay sitting atop my ears
FW, whew

Hey lill :)
hello all again
hi smores :)
hi jill :)
I thought an herb bag was a misdemeanor.
Anybody here ever hear of Van Morrison?
lol...hey Molly
Absolutely soodle...love him
lol molly.not my herb bags
yes soodle
Oh please, there are people who HAVEN'T heard of Van Morrison?
Oh there I go, being judgmental again.
Yep...most certanly have
shame on you Molly :D
I haven't. Am I a freak?
Ever heard the song Brown Eyed Girl Bich?
hey where did we go... days when the ra4s came...
Ok. I wasn't sure how far his fame went. He is playing an 'intimate cabaret' gig in the hotel my daughters work in, tonight. He's a Major Diva!!!!
no, I stopped listening to pop music after the Beatles
He's a HUGE diva. He is the only artist whose people asked for any unpaid for reference of his (lyrics specifically) to be taken off my husband's web site.
My girls are going to infiltrate his room, snifle some personal article, and put it on EBay. (No they're not, but they're tempted!!)
lol
Tupelo Honey and Moondance were pretty popular singles of his as well.
http://edition.cnn.com/2013/04/03/trav\nel/national-geographic-kids-travel/. This is amazing. Its my hometown!!
The link isn't working for me.
Need to use tiny url soodle
Really, Molls? I have very little time for divas. My Sarah met him off the helicopter, and walked him into the hotel, and he didn't engage with her one bit.
Oh yeah, forgot to take out the \n
Unfortunately there are celebrities that think they are too grand for the common folk. He is one of them.
Sorry guys. I cant seem to get the tiny URL. Google CNN 10 places that can change your childs life.
ir8 and.... ?
ti8/40
cool soodle...just keeps making me want to visit!
ty!!
There is a special "feel" when you visit a place with a lot of history. Many people who visit the Gettysburg battlefield say they get that "feel".
brb...
You see, I pass these places every day of the week. I've become immune to the incredibleness of the place. Its only when
I see an international perspective that I say 'Whoa',,,
K
a man of few words
lol...ruru is speechless
Of course, the incredibleness of my home town is not helping with the 'y'sp
Soodle, you need to check out http://buttecvb.com/
Y's!!
yay soodle!!
Oh my!! Ruru's done a Soodle!!!
Hoping ruru hasn't passed out on his keyboard!
lol
So much wine, so little time.
Jilly, thats a great website. I am still campaigning for a Babble Meet here in Ireland. I absolutely, 100% guarantee a whale of a time.
That means Soodle will whale on all the drinks y'all buy her.
*checks soodles Blow hole*
It's definitly on my radar soodle!! Would be so cool to see babblers from the Isles and who knows where else!
Ruru....am I going to have to get my 10 ft pole again!?
Indeed!! And I might be able to inveigle Soodle Daughters to provide sustenance.
Deliberately ignoring RuRu's comment!
Oh please tell me she did not just offer up her daughters. "Sustenance" can so easily be misconstrued.
are you baleen out jilly/ ?
are you baleen out jilly/
LOL
This pole thing is getting kind of lurid.
Good grief!! Irish stew!! Jeez!
soodle probably runs a zumba dance studio *wink wink*
Hmm, I may be the only one who gets that. Wink, wink.
oh.. *joke grenade*
Duetchmarks or dollars......
Whats a shitzu?
A zoo with no animals. ( hat-tip to my 7 year old nephew)
a shitzu is a mutt
Thinks soodle's nephew goes to the ruru school of jokes...
And a yappy purse dog
with a poopy attitude :D
Nope!! If you are 7, its a zoo with no animals!
Wouldn't it be a shytezu over there?
(You get to say Shit and nobody can bawl you out)
...someone will..
I would be careful nonetheless. Don't want to get some Irish Gram's stirabout pot flung at my head.
Another gathering of the coprophiliacs
How special
hi - back for more punishment
Hi BR and Nan.
curling over nan?
does anyone play babble on their phone? is there an app?
yes - scotland won the bronze medal - canada plays sweden for the gold in a couple of hours
no app phaeton...
Is curling originally a Scottish game?
I play on my phone but it is cumbersome...
I play on my phone when I am desparate, like a long wait at the doctor
hard to do with a ten foot pole
ty all
er 7, please?
*ouch*
yes, bichon
I see everyone is just ignoring the shit lovers comment.
extend the er 6/18 to remove mark
See Molly, I can ignore posts....
I just consider the source actually
amen ruru
Best that be done Jill, you are correct.
ty jilly
Poor old Soodle must go to bed. I'm exhausted, and in need of restorative sleep. G'nite all. And thanks for the company.

Niters soodle...I will dream of babble meet up in Trim!
Atta girl, Jilly!!!
this grid is kicking crossy's butt;((
nite soodle, sweet dreams and tc
Hello dear crossy!
((jilly))
don't go there crossy
hi crossy
what did i misss? maybe i do not wish to know
Crossy...my favorite baconator... ;)
howdy lillian
bacon is very expensive last week or do,been going without:((
Hope that prices come down by end of summer when BLT season comes...
there is a season?? lol anytime is bacon time:))
LOL...my homegrown tomato season rather...we go through a lot of bacon Sept-Oct
crossy is however doing bacon cheddar puff the sneaky way tonight with pre packaged bacon bit
Man's gotta do what a mans gotta do... lol
we pay through the nose for american or hothouse tomatos all but for sept and oct,so anytime may as well be blt time:))
and in those two months you are bombarded with massive garden fresh tomatos for next to nothing, then they are gone..sniff
I do freeze mine if I have enough; they get mushy, but still the taste beats anything store bought during winter
The greenhouse tomatoes I get at the Amish market in the winter are almost as good as summer ones.
years ago we made the mistake of planting 4 beefsteak tomato plants.we thought "what harm could come out of 4 itty bitty plants, maybe have a few nice nights of sammiches and some pizza sauce" but OMG! ,we had tomatos everywhere! mounds of them.the poor plants had to be tied up with old hockey sticks.we game them out all over town and it never seemed to end hehe
gave
We only eat the cherry types of tomatos. The ones I get at Costco are great
No winter markets here molly...
And crossy, that was a mistake???
I chop up my extras and freeze them and then use them in chile, soups and stews.
well,no,but we learned fast the art of canning tomatos and put up 35 1 quarts jars of them
And I dry mine too...great in pasta
Oh and can salsa too
had a lady from next door donate a few boxes of canning jars,i ran out and got some new rubber gaskets and she worked with us all day and we canned the lot
Mmm, salsa is the best with fresh tomatoes.
It is a chore to can. Unfortunately a lot of mine is done after work in the evening. But it is worth it!
her price was 10 jars of product.good trade and we learned from a pro
That is true molly, I do that as well...but then I have salsa to give as gifts at christmas...
i still have a few of the old crown jars around with the glass lids:)
No I meant even canned salsa is great with fresh tomatoes.
I have a few of my grandmas
ahh, but love the fresh as well...
i like making home made bruchetta(sp) toppings for crusty toasted italian bread slices
MMMMMMM!!!
and of course home made ketchups
i have somewhere a recepie for a zesty ketchup that goes awsome with my baked bacon wrapped home made fries
hmmm, if you find it, IM it to my FB
I have never done tomato ketchup
tonight however is stuffed pork roast with caralamized onion rings roasted sweet baby carrots and yorkshire pudding and some home made gravy
I would .. but I'm always behind in the kitchen and never can catch up
i spend my life being behind in that d**m kitchen
Beef vegie soup here...which reminds me...need to get that going...ttfn babble buddies...
going to add a bread maker to the mix next month.did a bunch of research and the best imho is the panasonic sd-yd 250 or the slightly newer rd250
tc jilly
hi all
hi jmc
I made a big batch of beef vegetable soup yesterday. The freezer is well stocked.
yum
I use my bread maker at least twice a week. They are great to have.

Major lag here.
Probably our stoopid router.
Hi teach
hi bzzz and lynxx
Grandson left about two hours ago. I'm exhausted!
Spent the weekend with my grandson and granddaughter at her dance competition - stsayed over in a motel last night - i'm exhaustede
how old is your grandson - mine is 2
snaps!
Mine is 5
I remember that 2 year old age though.
active all the time - doesn't want to sit long enough to watch his sister dance - luckily many other younger brothers and sisters also wandering around - large auditorium
Yes. But I wouldn't have given up a minute of it.
i
i feel very lucky to have them right here in town - take care of him 1 - 2 days a week - like tomorrow
e
Our guy is an our away. But the other three are scattered thousands of miles apart.
*hour
o
enjoy having them so close
na6/21 pls
I have a 3 year old grandson. I take care of him and his brother and sister after school plus all summer. I live with them. He has autism and requires almost constant care, so I totally understand exhausted lol
and I wouldn't change a thing either
Stomach sickness
sorry Peri, I don't have it yet, and hello all
ty Molls
ah thanks Molly!
I'm sure you do, gramma. But it is nice that you are there for them.
will be til the good Lord takes me home. He will need probably lifelong care. but wow is he amazing
And lucky to have a Gram who loves him so much ♥
Just finished and opened the chat. grammaterri, I have a word for you "exhaustipated" too tired to give a sh**
I'm so blessed. I have 11 others and we are all really close. even the teeny boppers allow me to kiss and fawn over them
LOL!
lol that is great gramma!
Gramma! : D That word is a keeper.
It totally works when the grands leave, I'm exhaustipated
I found out today that my grandma was busted in the 60's for running a gambling hall.
oh how funny. my grands ran moonshine stills
and they were Christians lol
Another fav is "stupifany" You know those great ideas you get and then you realize that's ridiculous.
hi lyn
Back to finish...hello TO, gramma, bzznbea and molly
I'm off for a well deserved cocktail. Have fun!
hi Jilly hi TO. bye gramma
Hey, Jilly

Just checked into tomorrow's work schedule...will be a G&T night to make sure I sleep!
Ambien schmambien, a nice stiff G&T brings on The Sandman. : D
hi all!
Hi Sue
hi Molly! Nice day here today, maybe it is finally spring!
hi Sue. depends where you are at. Storm Waldo or Waldy or something like that is going to hit Colorado with more snow
how goes it, sue?
hi gramma and TO!
i'm with molly on this
we are ok, TO, the chemo is starting to really get to Frank so he is pretty exhausted
I am warm. I am warm because I was out in the sunshine most of the weekend. Life is good.
Warm is good :-)
me too with Molly :)
move is rough as well
really must go. i have had a very full day
bye, TO!
and yes, the move was not fun but the new house is nice, and we've gotten a lot of help from friends.
What is with this new, goofy thing of naming snow storms?
maybe Colorado was jealous?
2nd re6/21 pls
They are doing it all over the country. I don't get it. For some places, there are not enough names for all the snow storms they get.
sorry, peri, don't have it
To state something again?
They did not hear her comment, so she re6 it.
Dumb word, never heard it used.
thanks, molly!
Sorry, must need more therapy...I got called away for phone call..
Hello to my fellow babblers! How is everybody doing today?
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! Way to go!
Hi Min
Hello minv, I am well, how are you?
hi jill and min!
I'm well.I had a very lazy pajama day today. Did NOTHING!
ah, I had one of those yesterday, min!
Good for you, Min!
Even with a lazy day, I just got here about a half hour ago.
LOL...rainy day here, in sweats and about to have vegetable beef soup for dinner...that's about all of my accomplishments for today.
Sorry to hear about Frank uusue...even though it is very common at this stage, it doesn't make it any easier or better
I did accomplish the task of making dinner.I made Shake N Bake chicken with canned corn and rice pilaf from a box.
Jill and I must be sharing a brain this weekend. I made vegetable beef soup yesterday. : )
Oh no uusue2! Did Frank have another bad day? I am sorry!
Now THAT"S a scary thought Molly... ;P
Well, heading out to put dinner on the table...see you all later!
Bight, Jilly.
Hi all :)
Spent the day watching old episode of General Hospital on SoapNet.They celebrated their 50th anniversary this week.
Night. LOL!
Hey, Liz.
Goodbye Jillyjill! I'll see you later on in the chat log maybe
Hello Lizlin! How are you doing? Welcome to the chat log.
That is a great way to spend a lazy day Min. Hi Liz.
Hope you've all had a good day :)
Glorious day. It's 70 degrees here (21 for y'all who insist on Celsius)
About the same temp we have right now at just before 10 am - really lovely. It shouldn't get too much hotter today :)
BBS - time to hang the washing out. Exciting life!!!
Drive by Lizzing
HOME MADE BROWNIES!! FRESH OUT OF DA OVEN AND STILL A BIT WARM! COME AND GET THEM!
be eright up crossy
hehe,i had to stand clear.was like the running of the bulls round here
Thank you Crossy. I made chocolate pudding yesterday and vanilla pudding today. I think those cups would go well with the brownies. Have you cleared the parachute landing spot for those of us coming via chutes?
indeed:)
Hello crosshair! How are you doing? Welcome to the chog.
Hello wvteach! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle
if you like puddings and custards, stidmere,i have one for you...

Hello stidgmere! How are you doing? Welcome to the chog
Hi minver. Shall we head North to have dessert with Crossy?
I am copying the Miracle Custard Pie immediately. Thank you Crossy.
that is a old,old recepie..i found it while roaming the net
sorry, didn't mean to post and run. Frank is having more trouble with one of the more unpleasant side effects of the chemo and is not feeling very good.
suze!! not to worry .have been there, done that and have the t-shirt from the concert:)) tell frank i hope it eases for him
will do, crossy! Thanks!
Hope tomorrow will be better, Sue :)
1/2 stick = 1/8 of pound
me too, liz!!
anyway I have no long words (7 or 8 letter) and my brain is sort of dead, so would cheerfully take any hints :-)
Thank you Crossy. Recipe copied.
np ,stidmere
Hi uu. Good to see you. Tell Frank we are all pulling for him.
will do, thanks gmere!
those side effect of chemo are evil((
yes, this is a particularly embarrassing one, too :-(
yes,i am sure.when i was to that point ,i almost did not give a damn about what was going on around me or what i was trying to eat or even if i ate or bathed.wanted to just curl up in a ball and lay there.takes a strong woman to do the home care and my beloved was like a rock and i am sure you are doing amazing suze, just make sure you take some time for yourself as well

Hello again :)
ty,liz
thanks, crossy, I am doing my best - unfortunately there are things going on at work that are not fun either
hi everyone
thanks DR and liz!
Hi smores
:)
hi smores!
Morning Liz :)
Hey Sue...sorry to hear Frank having problems, you are both still in my prayers
So many people have commented that this is an easy grid - not for me :(
speaking of the titanic.you guys should look up current news on your S.S United States. she has been in storage basically since 1969 and they are doing a fundraiser to restore her.she is the last of her kind and longer than the titanic and still hold the time record for the atlantic crossing
not for me either Liz
thanks, smores, these last 2 months are going to be rough, I'm afraid
Glad I'm not the only one!
damn poison is acumilative and it is all over your body.you smellit, you taste it,you sweat it.not fun
{{ Sue and Frank }}
not easy for me either liz...started out easy enough but that su4 didn't last
Same here. Just listed at 60 and it's still slow going!
I am not even half way
lol..who's making the custard pie? I just made a chocolate one tonight for dessert :)
with bisquick?
Yes TO...recipe is in my profile :)
I'm done cooking for the day but will make the pie recipe Crossy gave me very soon.
"i was giving stimere a nice recepie for one, smore
i would use flour vs bisquick
All for now, my brain is fried even if my custard pie isn't. Love to all.
Enjoy your evening stidg :)
lol..bye stidg :)
I just looked and have it at 45 min. hmmm...it should be 35
Is bisquick what I'd call nesquick - a chocolate drink powder?
no, Liz, Bisquick is a baking mix, unflavored, with flour and a leavening agent
lol...no liz...Bisquick is a baking mix
OK - not something I've come across! ty for explaining.
If you substitute flour instead add 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
the "bis" stands for biscuit, it's supposed to be a faster way of making them
I'll have a look in the baking section here - out of interest but I never came across it in the UK either.
bisquick used to be huge here for biscuits and making dumplings etc but it seems to have fallen by the wayside lately
Here is the substitution for Bisquick...although when I have used flour I just add the baking powder.
i also think you can make pancakes with it
One cup of Bisquick can be substituted by a mix of one cup of flour, 1½ teaspoons of baking powder, ½ teaspoon of salt, and 1 tablespoon of oil or melted butter.
ty for that info :)
yw :)
me mum used to make young crossy chicken and dumplings with it:))
Good memories :)
:D mine too
I must've been deprived!
and of course lots of pies :)
yup. only memories now.i can still see her in my minds eye with her jackie kennedy doo and the hair band the ladies all used to wear
:)
oh, gosh, I wore one of those when I was in my early teens - mostly to make my mother happy :-)
my da used to say over 1/2 the household food budget was hair spray ;)
lol
let me guess...good ol' AquaNet
have no idea but i am sure there were enough sfcs folating around the house to make the pet budgie croak
cfc,s*
hi babblers :)
howdy welki
lol...oh and mine used this pink jar of hair gel, can't think of what it was called
dippity-doo
Hey welki
that and enough cigarette smoke in the hosue to give the atmosphere of saturn a run for it's money
LOL...yes.." a little dab will doo ya"
and tang - breakfast drink of the astronauts :)
teehee
BBL - enjoy your evenings :)
hi/bye, liz
hehe,my da used to gel his hair and one day he was napping and i went in and grabbed this big box of talc, the lavendar kind with the big powder puff they used to use.well i walked over and dumped it all right in my da;s face
Bye for now Liz :)
boy,he woke up in a hurry!
LOL
he said he almost choked to death
i like the smell of barber's talc
and bay rum aftershave
crossy uses old spice
lol - and old spice
wow...I had forgotten about that
snap
hi welki!
:)
I know teenage girls who use Old Spice
my first boyfriend used english leather
^5
really? why on earth would the ladies use it?
They like the smell and it is stronger than teen products
english leather, canoe - all the old stand-bys
big wooden cap. I can still smell it.
oops, potatoes are done, time to go fix the rest of dinner - bbl!
i used to use brut 33
ohh - and aramis!
remeber hai karate?
yes, brut. loved that early on.
They like the smell and it is stronger that the teen products for girls
i'd forgotten about brut and hai karate!
what i used to hate was people who used to bathe in polo
LOL- That would be my hubby Crossy!
i don't know fragrances past brut, because after that my husband smelled of baby spit up. we all did. :)
hehe
i don't like too much fragrance of any kind
I have gradually moved him away from that!
now i find that when i do wear aftershave a bit of old spice is nice and not overpowering
lol
lol - crayola! my husband still wears old spice, too - i like it
baby spit up.. wow.. there's a fragrance I don't want to smell
My grandson told me this weekend that man's "perfume" is handsome juice.
lol bea
very cute, bea :)
He is full of it.
teehee
"lol,ru.one day the mrs and i were in toronto for a dr appt and we had 2 hours to kill,so we went to a local place for a bite to eat.the baby was burpedor so we thought and the mrs was holding him uop and he projectile vomited right into my beloveds mouth and all over the table in a room full of suits having power lunches lo

someone should give it a heave
lol, some things like a mouth full of abay spit up should not be shared :)

live and learn :)
thought it better than mulling over N Korea moving missles around:(
both projectile
hey ru
lol...you didn't scare me off crossy..was just finishing off the vowels :)
but back to that ocean liner project of yours with the SS United States.seems to raise funds, you can actually buy your own square foot of it and get a certificate
really - an ocean liner? why would anyone want to do that?
cool
You know you have been playing babble too long when you know ni5/12 is a word.
i would do that for a ship like the USS JFK, but not a cruise ship
it is an historic vessel, welki and they want to save it from the scrap heap
they have 2 months to do it.then it is gone
will they maintain it and open it as a museum?
that is the plan
when i was a kid, i wanted to work of the USS Hope
(looking up SS United States)
we are we have the Seguin.north americas oldest operational steam ship.still does tours on georgian bay up in muskoka
we are lucky here*
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SS_United\n_States
very interesting
lol..Bea I just found that one :)
Is the USS Hope the ship they do operations on?
wild that she still hold the record for the fasted crossing of the atlantic
yes, bea - don't know if it's still around, though
the uss hope was sold for scrap in 1978
so, while reading about the SS United States, I ran across a site that's advertising it as a real estate development opportunity, that the ship will be 're-purposed' to house at least a museum and some educational facilities - http://tinyurl.com/c4gdzz6
I think I saw a news report on it. They do surgery on people of a certain culture who have large tumors from overgrowing tooth enamel.
ohh, i saw that special, bea - those volunteers do amazing things
It was it's own community. Cool stuff.
i know they have a hospital plane now that makes journeys to africa to trat people
treat
looked it up, it's called Mercy Ships
that is very cool :)
ahh it is the Orbis flying eye hospital
I'll have to look it up
Yes. That is correct.
i'd guess being on board that plane would be insightful
would def be an eyefull,ru
they travel oversees
it's run by visionaries
they are far seeing:)
Ha!

ti8 is a plural of the ti7, builds off the 5 do you have the 5?
