Hi all -- got home from bridge to find swarms of tiny ants in the kitchen sink and on the counter! So I had to squish them and set out ant traps -- I hope they work. Sometimes I think they're ant repellents -- i.e. the darn creatures avoid them like the plague and still invade the house.
leave a pair of pants in the kitchen jilli
Oh Jilli - what a thing to come home to! Hope your ant traps work!
ick... hope it works... I hate ants

HELLO GREAT BABBLERS
Good morning, little pug, woof
what kind of dogs do you have?
you just starting
71 words and trying to take my mind off stuff. Been up since before 5AM
Its 3;37 am here-whats your time
9"37 AM
I got a pug , great dame/boxer mix and a boxer mixed with?
I c't imagine life without dogs
can't*
sorry about my typing--Im in semi darkness cause my computer is in my bedroom and the hubby is still asleep and I dont want to ruin my peace and quiet here--LOL
I couldnt either ruby
Ive always loved dogs and horses
I have no experience with horses, but learned to love dogs in y 40's when my future husband gave me my first chow chowk Rosie
do you need prayers Ruby for yourself(hope to not fend you by asking)
I think I was born an animal lover--If I had the means I would love to have a dog rescue center
thank you, puglet, that is very kind. I guess I sound like I'm a mess and your prayers might help.
Yesterday was tough but maybe today will be better.
theres times we all need a little more help then what mere humans can provide
I will pray for you then and hope God can give you some peace within
{{little pug}}
I take care of a sister thats mentaly handicapped and she has poor health and I also take care of a elderly friend that almost blind plus hubby too and I know that the world and its problems can get over whelming at times. But I rather care for them then to put them away in another home
you have a very big and loving heart, puglet
Thank you for your kindness ---I couldnt deal with it all the time if it wasent for higher powers
My husband and my Pug(annapooh) are having a snoring contest I think!lol
one of our last pups, Max (ictured), snoered so loudly that I could hear him several rooms away
there is no souond sweeter!
((laughing)) so true--this is my firist pug and I wished I had gotten one earlier in life
I love short-nosed dogs like pugs, boxers, bulldogs and chows
I never thought Ide like a small dog cause I always has either boxers or pitbulls
but not Persian cats!
yeah me too
must go now, maybe I'll see you later -- 89 words and nbs but not nbt
{{puglet}}
never owned any persian cats but have had a cat or two that I really liked but was never into cats as I was dogs.We got a few barn cats though

Hi Ruby
morning molly,ruby and all
good afternoon all
this is one odd grid
hello all :)
hi smores :)
I have a new one for the dictionary today: robry - when they even steal your letters
lol...nice
:) It is coming along nicely. Lots of fun words. Better than this grid... it is tight, for me anyway.
you'll have to make us a grid :)
hahaha indeed! In time... we need more words for that.
Yeah, why not? We are all used to grids full of made up words.
too true, Molly. Should be easy for us all.
:D
almost halfway and not a single biggie. Only 6 x 6. Either I am having a bad day or this is a nasty little grid.
(or both)
I can't speak for your day, but the grid bites. : D
:D
wow...managed to get nbt....only one 7 though and no 8
good job. I am with you, nbt, but you are one 7 ahead of me still!
definately a tough one
yessss one 7. G.
wooho..ga7/44?
yes :D
oh... no! Gi7/44
hmmm...looking
me too, for the ga
hah, got it. Thanks smores.
lol...me too thanks
yay :) 6 more to go, and the 8. Peanuts (uhmmmuhmmmm)
I thought the di7 was easier to find than the ga7
I'm all gi5 now :)
lol...just found that one Molly :)
it may well be, Molly, but not for me, apparently (please note the rhyme)
phantom: diatr5
ah, got it. Couldn't see it because I have such a clean mind.
lol..uh-huh that's why
A grim quote from the Chief Of Emergency Services at Massachusetts General Hospital: "This is something I've never seen in my 25 years here ... this amount of carnage in the civilian population. This is what we expect from war."
Molly--
guess you haven't found the di5/14 yet then? :)
JUST this minute read that and was struck by the same thing
hmmm no indeed, not yet, smores :)
very sad indeed
that is severe, Molly and Jayk.
I don't know. I can't get past the sadness of it all. An 8-year-old boy went to see his Dad finish the Marathon yesterday, and that little boy is dead now.
di 5/14 is a word i would never thought to find in a babble. a s*x aid
most sex related words are valid in Babble, jzw. Except clit. Enable is a rotten lover.
Living in the Boston area I don't have to tell you the type of day Patriot's day is supposed to be. To the world it's about the Marathon, but it really celebrates the start of the Amer. Rev. and the joy of freedom. Now it's ruined...
LOL ...sprite
utter craziness. So sad.
'Tis true, smores :)
I believe the American spirit will rise above what happened and that neither the marathon, nor the spirit of the day will be ruined.
It is beyond tragic indeed, but we cannot allow it to ruin the what Patriot's Day stand for
the human spirit can rise above everything. Still, for now it requires mourning.
There IS always hope. And that is a part of the American spirit (and Boston's as in we are always hoping the Sox will prevail!) My son's college, Emerson, is closed today for a day of reflection. 7 students had minor injuries. luckily my son was far away.
Yes, of course.
So glad your son is safe jzw
am glad, jzw
This country was founded on standing against acts of aggression. We are made of tough stuff, and we come back strong.
al6/24 plz
very clumsy clue but I don't know how to clue it better: al + vowel + first 2 of not old + consonant
Hi all :)
hiya Liz :)
ty sprite, was able to figure it out from that.!
al6...Actress McGraw from Love story + Co***e Ugly, movie about a bar in New York
am glad, ivesy, tough one to clue :)
Ivesy your icon is hilarious : D
ty molly, great clue :)
al6 is the honor of being called to read from the Torah
im just typing in words, becz these are very strange
Clued earlier as Jews (female) emigrating to Israel.
I love your frog, ives
Prefer your version Annie - makes more sense to me!
Liz, it means any group emigrating to Israel, has both meanings
ty annie lol.. lost my voice and sound like a frog.. so there i am
Definitely not a word I would know by it's definition. : )
Yes I know but the more common ending for the emigration is with an a or an ah!
poor ivesy :(
Anyway, I think it's good to clue it differently as most people would only be confused by the meaning!!
LOL no Molly, only if you attended temple services
Poor ivesy - wish you better! I always sound like that when I sing!
*Cues up "I Ain't Got No Home" by Clarence Frogman Henry, for Ivesy*
hello all
Struggling here!
help with e in right column pls
An en5way is a place you go in
A way in , peri. en 5/ 14
no exit, peri, and hi
here too, Liz. Seems to be an ugly little grid
ty sprite
and Liz and Molly
nbt but no 7's or 8
I saw di7, ga7 and gi7 posted but do not see them
the 8 is an aussie bi 4 - compound word. it mimics all sorts of noises it hears.
up to 4 7s now. Almost at the end of grid.
sorry daughter needed me
will have to check that song out molly lol
Damn, this is a bad news week. Second major earthquake in Iran in a week.
li 8 - that should have said.
Why are you sorry your daughter needed you?
wb smores, real life comes first always ;)
ok, guess this will have to wait.. time to get ready to start the day
Hi smores :)
Wish I was almost at the end of the grid!
Have a good day ivesy and feel better :)
Hey Liz
bye ivesy, take care
bl
Bye Ivesy...have a good one
smores, another ga7.
It
thanks...looking
It's the 4s 5s and 6s that are defeating me!
the 8 is ly
Enable doesn't like biro!!!!
Oops - think I said li - sorry!
lol Liz... there are quite a few surprising 4s and 5s , twistily hidden in the grid
Very well hidden!
lolllll Liz! You sent me on a goose chase... and no eider to show for it today either.
Biro is a trademark
thanks smores, got it now
Sorry sprite - ly 8 - compound word.
Like freon, I think that makes it a proper noun.
the -ly ending is used a lot today... remember there can be an y in front too.
True it's a trademark but I thought it was more or less accepted into common usage like hoover - certainly in the UK.
yep, same as hoover... not valid either
I thought that about freon too. You never know with Enable. And I wouldn't know what a biro was if not for Babble.
we have a version of enable that is way behind the date :)
Do you not use the word biro in the US?
Nope, that brand is not sold in the US.
we say ballpoint or balpen.
It's generally used for all ballpoint pens in the UK.
Also biro in Aus - just randomly held one up and asked my hubby what it was!
lolllll
in french it is 'bic'
which is also a brand name
So it is! I'd forgotten that! Not the brand name but the French!
*Adds biro to the UK list of learned words. Along with nappy, pram, brekky, brolly..."
BRB
trainers, fringe and pavement to name a few others!
:) And of course the Germans call it Kugelschreiber... or Kuli.
The one that really flipped me out is how you all go to the "chemist" and we go to the drug store.
Didn't know kuli - and wondered if they still used Kugelschreiber.
fringe... that reminds me of my biggest blunder in english... I always thought it was 'French benefits' and had to learn it was 'fringe benefits' here on babble the hard way :)
Language - so similar but so different!
it is interesting, Molly, Just like the differences between Flamish and Dutch. So close, and still another language.
*snap* Liz!
Usually you only get French benefits during a one night stand. : P
when i was learning german they still used kugelschreiber and kuli.
hi demi. Yes, and one can use 'Stift' as well
Think I mentioned before - in the UK kids change into shorts and T shirts for PE / games lessons and there was the time my hubby told his class to take their pants off!
Hi Demi :)
lololllll Molly!
hi alll!
Nice one Molly :)
ouch ouch ouch, Liz. So now you visit him in prison? ;)
I've found one word since I 've been here this evening!!!
hehehe we are too entertaining, right Liz?
I don't get it. Pants = what? In UKspeak.
lol sprite!
Should
should've told them to take their trousers off!
Pants are underpants.
I don't know, either way he would be suspect here. : O
I think it was followed by ... and put your shorts on!
... all the better I can see your legs (add leering face)
why does english have to be so complicated!
i broke up my first class here with the same mistake liz... i asked one of my boys how he got so much mud on his pants....... hi demi...
ouch rolin, and hi
hi rolin!
Hubby wants to know why I've destroyed his reputation but Demi and Ro would probably say it was destroyed long ago!
hey sprite
Hi Ro
*runs around naked*
You've seen this?
*thinks demi looks good*
reputation....???... what reputstion...lol
lol
I think if I ever visit the UK I will just be a selective mute.
demi... is rich chasing you???
I can picture you, Molly... starting each convo with "I'am American... don't mind me..."
I thought y'all called us Yanks.
Thinks most UK people speak American!
that, or 'those darn Yanks'
Demi's gone quiet - perhaps Rich caught her!
rolin, no rich is not chasing me . he is being his usual self when it comes to you being online.
lol.... praps so liz...
I would not do well in Australia either because I do not end every word in "o". : P
rich did not catch me. i caught him.
aaah.... i thought i recognised his writing...lol
Nor do I, Molly!
morning all!
he chased her and chased her until she got him
Hi Sue :)
*farts*
*sigh*... i blame his father...
Shurrup Rich!
sounds like I've entered quite the discussion :-)
That's not fair!
I aplogise for what is happening. he is just like his father!!!
No he isn't!
much better looking
*hands in the air*.... buying outa this one...;p
His father has never written in the chog! And wouldn't!
I have no clue, Sue. I am just quietly looking on.
Bye Ro - have a good day :)
liz .... he used to spend hours on msg boards when we first got the net..
hiya double U sue :) *hug*
He's grown up!
i think i am going to go.

Thank God!
I am still praying for Nathaniel
I saw her yesterday and heard the news. Such joy! I hugged her. She is too young to understand.
hello all
Hi Owl
Hi Owl
Good morning, friends.
Hi car.
phone
Hi Car. ((Car and family)) I was thinking of Primo and all of you in Boston, yesterday
morning annie, scrabbler, car
They just showed video of the NY stock exchange observing a moment of silence...and they were all looking at their watches/cell phones. Sad.
Of course--some people focus on power, control, money, and things...
This is where the media could actually do some good. It should be all over the news how heartless and callous that was.
it's been a while since i worked, but i am sure my boss would have been do it and get to work. they were big on ocusing on what had to be done. did that after a death as well
Ty for your icon, Molly
a sense of lie goes on as a means to get over things that were emotional
Hey, I have family up there. And my Mom was born there.
Honestly, I am still stunned that only 3 are dead.
Yes. And I heard a politician talking about how the government stepped up and functioned so well for the people yesterday. Yesterday's heros = first responders, whether professional or not, and all of the generous people that provided help.
Yes, that is amazing, Car.
it is so reminiscent of the olympics bombing
it was frightening, we know to stay away from downtown on Marathon Monday because of the crowds, but man.
Those first responders, on duty and off, are amazing!!!!!
I never took my kids to Boston for those big events and I very rarely go myself...and it is because of things like this.
It was interesting to see who ran TO the victims and who ran AWAY. I wonder what I would have done under the circumstances.
my sister in law is a nurse at MGH, it was insane down there
I was wondering that about myself as well. You, Scrabs, would have run straight in. No doubt in my mind.
I think you have to be firmly entrenched in emergency medicine to be able to run towards such a thing.
Oh mael! Please send her my thanks and love for doing her part yesterday and today.
I was thinking of the medical staff and others that were caring for the children. I know the emotion with caring for injured and very ill kids. It is so emotional.
Car, yes, I would have gone to help, no doubt.
A lot of the "first responders" turned out to be runners.
Yes.
A press conference will be starting shortly. There is a suspect.
I will car, she'll appreciate it. We picked her up as close to mgh as we could when her shift was over but downtown was just a mess. Police everywhere, blockades, it is frightening.
Morning friends
Please thank her for me, mael. She saw up close and personal the carnage.
Hi Bob
Hello Mr Bob!
happy babbling all
Bye TO. Have a good day.
bye TO
bYE oWL
STats please for the left hand Y?
FBI now on...
yi4/6
Ty Ursh
i think
Yup! That was it
I am watching the press conference too.
who is speaking? the mayor?
Mass. DA now
Series of speakers--gov, police, etc
Heads of all departments involved with the operation
nick kristof posted that there was an officer at the airport asking anyone if they had been nearby and had any photos or tips they could help the investigation with
They just announced tat
*that
They have been saying it all along
that's good
Ooh! Q&A! I did not expect that
I love your governor, Car. Our governor, Andrew Cuomo, is such a disappointment.
barney frank was here giving us a chat yesterday. he called his husband after we finished and was told about it, and then told us. he had just been telling us how he had represented at some point over his career every town along the marathon route except hopkinton, where it starts.
helo everyboy on this sad day
Wow, hurshy. that must have been surreal
Hello Ruby
Hi Ruby
{{scrabs, hurshy and car.}}
I was here this AM, but was aldone
alone, not all done!
The BPD commish is such an enormous man! He makes the others around him, including the governor, look tiny.
He sure does.
good morning everyone
Hello JBV
hello JBV
hi car - everybody OK?
hi ruby!
the only explanation i could think of for the event was somebody who had been frozen in time when people still hated irish catholic immigrants, and awakened to find out about JFK and whatnot...
Hi JBV
Shaken but OK. All close family and friends are accounted for.
it is hard to be away from the US when things like this happen. I think that 9/11 was worse for me, here in France, than for my sister who lives in Queens, NY
I know this is being felt around the world - I just received a beautiful email from my cousin (in Italy) with a lot of compassion for the victims and for all of us
glad to hear it car
My first thoughts yesterday--Trifioso's son, and fellow Babbler, Pam.
but we are all together in this, ruby, doesn't matter where you are, I guess
I heard that the MA governor was in that area earlier in the day. Could the bombs have been meant for him? He is a black, outspoken, Democrat...lots of people don't like that.
what, you don't like my time traveller idea?
no, that could not possibly have been intended for one person - to attack a crowd of innocent people? that's pure terrorism
It is hard to know where people live, but I have a nephew in Boston who actually lives in London and was there the day of the subway bobing. He must be traumatized
There were multiple bombs--multiple deaths and injuries were intended.
hurshy your idea makes as much sense as any other possible explanation
I think this is domestic terrorism. Foreign terrorists claim credit right away generally.
it is amazing that there were so few deaths!
i appreciate that about foreign terrorists. makes the investigation so much easier.
the placement and timing was to do the most damage to the most people. they did not want to harmt he star athletes from other countries
True, H.
i agree with invictus. so like the olympics bombing and look where that went
it seemed like they wanted to harm the "ordinary" people and their families
These were very small bombs, akin to the Centennial Park bombing in 1996. That was Eric Rudolph.
Yikes, here comes the rain. It suddenly started pouring.
look at how that one was botched.
The poor Richard family--son dead, daughter loses a leg, mother with brain injury, father to cope with it all.
And if this were some foreign terrorist scheme, the bombs would have been larger. Small bombs don't kill a lot of people - wound them for life, yes. But, kill? Not generally. The Unabomber only killed 3 people and he sent more than 20 bombs.
thank heaven for ineptitude.
aamen!
well, i wonder if it is too hard both physically and financially to do the big attacks any more. and the type of explosions suggest not but they will have to go where the evidence takes them. i am betting on home grown.
I think you're right TO..
i have heard conflicting reports about the shrapnel being in the bomb orenvironmental.
I don't know what to think, but would have a lot of trouble visiting any big city now, European or American
stats for the Y on the first column?
yi4/6
The ignition switch will say a lot about who did it.
did they find it?
but we must learn we are part of the world. the world has had to suffer terrorist attacks; we are not immune
ruby can you clue it please?
When bombs detonate, they usually have a team that will reassemble the bomb.
y+ sick
They seem to have a suspect and they did gather 2 bags of evidence from a home in Revere, Mass.
ty ruby
did not hear that, car
well done, investigators
thought the press conference might yield info on that
The 'suspect' is only a suspect because he is a Saudi national and the search was with his consent. They say they have found nothing connected with the bombings yet. I suspect any evidence removed is likely computers, which they will take to a lab to analyze.
Yup. There is a man they are questioning who is in the hospital, but he has been very cooperative, and led them to the house in Revere.
You could be completely right invictus.
Third column E stats please?
ok here's a hard one, bet nobody will get:
I think that is sad. His crime was being Middle Eastern around a terrorist attack.
ey 4/6

name that proper noun! harp player on the gilmore girls
oh i did hear that there was a foreign national who was injured...they sent out bulletin to the hospitals to look for injuries consistent with a possible suspect.

ty car
from the reports, he had burns on his hands.
This is all so speculative though. I will wait for the facts.
5 column E stats please?
We have a list correct?
en 5/14
I am always amazed by the people who investigate these things. I can't imagine the skill it takes to reassemble a detonated bomb.
en5/14
not sad if done correctly. just thorough. thefolks in jersey city were horrified to know that 9/11 actors were neighbors. we had a bomber when i worked in juvey. he had lost a finger and part of another.
helo molly, U'm sorry I missed you before
I learned yesterday that they go from the farthest point of damage/debris out and then work their way back to the origin.
hi there ruby, TO, molly, car, MLF
ruby clue please?
dumb kid. he tried to det off a bomb to over a gas station robbery is what got him caught
Hi bichon

The sad part is that the media jumped on that, calling him a suspect, and I am sure it is purely based on his ethnicity.

bichon - only so far. one never knows where a crazy with a gun (or bomb) will strike next.
my housekeeper told me that there was a bomb in downtown a
downtown Annecy, just before we moved here
How weird is that? This is a sort of obscure non-place
we had a ghastly murder of a young child in downtown Middletown years ago. Right after that we moved to the edges of town
I don't know, after UVA, college campuses are not high on my list of safe places.
Sorry, Virginia Tech.
Middletown is pretty obscure, but we have a University here. It was the scene of a \nother gruesome murder a few years ago
The trauma doctors they have been interviewing have been amazing.
I will probably get to a point where I don't leave my house or garden
Those doctors believe the bombs contained projectiles from the injuries
And strangely enough, that VA Tech shooting was exactly six years ago today.
I had a nap today where I dreamed that my boy dog and I swa to safety.....
Trauma surgeons are amazing folks---very methodical, very focused on saving human life.
swam*
I am going to take a break and get more coffee. Have a great day everyone. {{hugs}}
Bye Car
{{car.}}
Of course they contained projectiles. Homemade bombs do. That is what caused the damage and injuries. It isn't the explosive power.
Columbine was in April too. Spooky.
neither dog nor I can swim
which poet said april is the cruellest month?
The OKC bombing was also in April.
TSEliot?
TS Eliot
well i guess he was on to something.
snap, grant!
hi Scrabs
echo in here...
in Binghamton, March was the cruele3st
A lot of the neo-nazi types like to attack in April because of it was Hitler's birthday month.
I must get on with my day. I am going to stop at the preschool where I am the doc. It is a preschool for kids with developmental problems, mostly kids with Down syndrome. I enjoy the kids so much.
that's when all the domestic murders and suicides happened.
have a great time scrabs!
Bye, kids.

Bs are bombed, but still no nbt
lol, drunken b's - bees ;)
nbt finally, OY
:))
drunken bees are fun bees
do they like cocktails of brandy and creme de menthe?
(stingers)
oh, dear, no, bees don't contemplate stinging, for to sting is to die
conundrum - defend yourself by deploying the stinger, and thereby survive the immediate onslaught only to die shortly, or refrain from stinging and possibly die immediately...
you live (and die) by the hive rules . . .
found a 7!
woo hoo!
almost all my 7s have a double D in 'em, but i only have 5

(( group hugs)) ;) how doth your garden grow ruby?
is molly still here? I keep seeing her traces, like jet trails in the night sky.....
it doth grow wildlyk! This year, Rufie hasn't ||(yet) demolished the flowers, so I may have a lot of iris and allium as well as all the other stuff
and the handyman is out there digging holes for me to plant some annuals in the borders
sound s lovely ruby, i like irises a lot. how's the new fur baby doing? settling right in?
I am a terrible cheter, but perennials just go so far and then disappear
the baby is wonderful except for her wet chest which makes her look like a monster We need a huge bib for her
and Rufie loves her
you have to plant a bunch to get colour all year, but the results are worth it... and less work and expense in the long run. puppy needs water lapping instruction ;)
oops second column i...4/5, 5/12, 4/7...sorry moll
what did you name the little one ruby?
baby sister is named Rafaella, Raffie

The original theme song for TV's Bewitched was a variation of the commercial jingle, "See the USA in your Chevrolet." Not surprising, since Chevy was the sitcom's original sponsor.

how are you progressing stiddie? i guess you have a ton of stuff to keep you busy?
I shut down on a regular basis, Kate -- a lot is being left undone, I fear. But yes, we are mostly keeping busy and there is progress, however slow and tedious.
Must go. bbl. hagd All!
Today Grant and his friends will move some of the plants away from the house so we can demo as soon as permits are done. And we'll try to take some things out of the house so I can clean them outside (when the weather warms up the more durable metal things will be cleanable).

pippin, that kitty is just adorable...
hopefully things will improve when you are building your new life, rather than demolishing yur old one. creating new memories must be better than being constantly confronted with bad past ones... i hope it will be speey

stid, can I ask what happened? it's been so long since I've babbled I have lost touch.
you don't have to share. you are in my thought and prayers anyway.
any hints for the right-most i?
a house fire, Luwanda. Didn't burn everything, but the soot ruined most of the things, and mold that came in afterward took a lot more. We are still salvaging a little bit, but what can be saved is less and less each time. Lucky and the birds died, but Grant, who was getting home sick from school, and a neighbor were able to put out the fire. 911 got confused so the fire trucks arrived afterward
EvaN: a person who doesn't do anything (like me right now ) or a car engine in neutral
alas, thats a different tile, stiddy.
And Grant had only a tiny cut on his hand afterward. So as sad as I am, I still feel blessed that my son is okay.
no, that is the right-most i
they are id 4, 5, 4
the lowest i is il 4 and 5
never mind I checked your account. I had a fire several years ago as well. I sounds like my situation. I lost a cat and one survived because she went down stairs instead of up. I can tell you it's definintely a difficult time but there is a positive side. I became a stronger person and realize I can persevere a lot, my family became closer and I realized that stuff is stuff and family and friends are everything.
unless im thinking of the wrong words, those come from the upper i
thanks Luwanda -- we have lovely friends and neighbors who have been very supportive. We will have a new house eventually and then we can move forward. Right now it's all the waiting dummy stuff.
the upper i that I have a are id 5 "dummy" and greek i word and adjective form of color of eye
well, i got one of the id words to come from that i tile. the others that i have came from the top. in any case, thanks! that zero was driving me batty. :)
There will definitely be challenging times. Patience can wear thin too but this too shall pass. Try to remember to sit back and take a breath when things get difficult. Take care of your health as well.
thanks, that was the hardest part the first week -- remembering to eat and such. Now that we have an apartment we are getting some routines back and sleep and all is easier.
are you all planning to rebuild in the same spot?
yes, EvaN -- how could I leave my garden? LOL when I tried to find pics of "before" for the inside of the house for the fire inspector I had a difficult time. Most of the pics cluttering up my files were garden shots. :-)
gah. only just saw tweety's species. How lame am I?
When you feel overwhelmed with the process just realize there is a light a the end of the tunnel no matter how long that tunnel seems. All of us were effected emotionally in different ways.
yes, Tom is taking it pretty hard, but he doesn't usually let on... I am more quick to release the emotion as it comes to the top. Grant is focusing on friends and that is healthy right now.
Hello and many hugs dear Stid! I am so glad you came to tell us how things are going. Your fortitude is amazing.
My thoughts and prayers are with you but I know you will be successful in the restoration and recovery process because I have been there.
hey saanich!!! they can save the vase you gave me. :-) I was worried about things like that, but although it was hot (well over 1000 in the rooms adjacent to the fire) the ceramic pieces were mostly intact.
let the begging begin, need one word for 100 found, then will throw in the towel and list. does anyone have a clue of at least stats for the bottom y? i have "shout" hi saan :)
thanks Luwanda. That is so helpful -- knowing that one of my friends made it through this. I am sorry that you also dealt with it, but grateful you have shared. It makes me feel less alone.
LOL Kate!
ye 5/18 is another one Kate
ye 5 buena is an herb that is common in the southwest states
I will send another as a house-raised present, (don't want to use the term 'house-warming'
ty stiddie :)
LOL saanich!
rofl @ san ;)
lol saanich!!! I totally get it! humor is so important!
do you know, I had stashed a whole bunch of un-painted scarves in a bottom drawer of a plastic drawers, and since they were also still inside a plastic bag, they will be useable!!! Once I have water at the house again (the well is off because power runs through the house), I can paint! :-)
Hi there kate! there is a ya 4'8 which is similar to the Hut of Babi ya**
the weirdest things survived...
thanks for that one saanich
thanks saan! scooping up the clues ;)
okay, I need to be ready when my friend gets here. At some point... :-) see you-all again soon. And THANK YOU for being here, for letting me vent a little, and for caring. *poof*
hi and bye stiddy
(stid)
another is ye 4/7 which sounds like the past tense of ye 4/6
be good to yourself ((stiddie))
The towel bar and tv in the room about a far away from the fire in my house melted but the book on the bottom shelf in the same room were fine.
ty saan , listed, only need thed ya 4/7 to finish the y's
bingo!
Late everyone. I don't get to babble as much as I used to but it's good to be back. Bye

We have to give up things we love as we move along in life. I was ready to give up playing piano at the nursing homes but I missed those dear souls these past 3 months, so....... was back doing it yesterday, AND loving it !
that is nice, diane.
I may do Confirmation classes next year, but there are too many demands on my time these days between family and increased work hours. I suppose it is good to bow out when I still enjoy it.!
hi TO :-)
hmmm
sorry

it sure is
i have 30 minutes left to give stats/hints if anyone desires :)
re 6/24, the last one

taht is to heat the water again
I'm having trouble with my water here today Kate, ty

aahhhh ty
hi peri :)
ty Kate
hi
Hello peri!
hi dr :)
hi all
Hi Peri and Kate
this grid is very tricky....ty tk
It is a grind cgypsy
hi peri, gypsy, DR
Jilly
Hi Jilly and Bichon
55 left...think I have to list
yw gypsy, it's nice to have time to clue a bit before i have to go... instead of begging for clues until closing time. i like to be able to repay the favour when i can.
Some of these words...are they real?
Hello dr
Hi bichon!
there has been a lot of debate today over the "unreality" of some of the words. there were quite a few i hve never encountered before..
one is a Hebrew word meaning to go up (in a metaphorical sense)
dear me, poor jill pput herself in the PB ;)
which one is that bichon?
al 6/24
There are a number of words in Enable I recognize from knowing Hebrew
al6/24 plz
what is enable?
Babble is based off of Enable dictionary
ahhh
it's the dictionary that decides whether a word is accepted in Babble
al 6/24 floats like a butterfly, stings like a bee, sometimes vowel and ectra hours on the punch clock
al + vowel + sometimes vowel + vowel + consonent
got it, ty TK
*extra
and bichon
hope I helped
hello again :)
hi smores :)
hey TK :)
h smores
*hi
hi smores
Hi Jilly, Bichon :)
last call soon, closing here in 10 minutes :(
googled enable and got cloud software.....lol...got it now tho:) a little slow today
tough grid today...at least it was for me earlier
heartily agreed smores, like wading through mud up to your chest - what a slog :)
could use a clue for my last 7 ... ga7/36
store where art is sold
I would think doing a Google search on Enable would bring up pictures of old men, with hair tufts in their ears wearing plaid shorts, black socks and sandals.
lol...Molly
ga 7/36 ga** bladder + a large maned cat in africa with an alternate last letter
lololo...too funny molly
I have that one mom
got it...thanks :)
rofl @ molls
*control_alt_delete* that image...LOL
and on that note i must run an errand.....bbl ....:))
and trading obsolete coins
Bye cgypsy...enjoy :)
Later cgypsy...
bye gypsy :) i must poof as well, i think molly is finished and can give hints? see you kids tomorrow
SEe you later TK!
Just found di5/14....where is ruru?
Um...I don't think he needs one of those. : O
He ususually has a quaint comment or two...
no,, but he would love to comment......
And how are you today Molly?
Quaint...*tries to imagine Ru as quaint* Not working.
Nor does quiet...LOL
All I can see when I imagine quaint is the farmer in American Gothic. And contrary to rumors spread, Ru is not bald. : D
Quaint brings me a vision of Grandma Moses painting.
which 5/14?
which di 5,14?
what do you need jzw?
I have them both, I thought someone else needed them.
LOL...no, was just being silly about the word
I guess chat moves too fast sometimes Jill. You did say "just found di5/14".
brb...time for coffee...
Man, so sleepy this afternoon...caffeine definitly better take ahold soon...
Nap time for Lil Jill.
And I really slept last night...whodah thunk?
I think we all naturally need a rest midday. The countries who do siesta have it right.
I agree with you Molly...power naps are the thing!
Even portions of corporate America have been convinced regarding the benefits of a midday rest. Many office buildings now have quiet rooms or sleep rooms where people can take short naps on their lunch break.
You almost have me convinced on a nap!
May I please have a clue for pe6-24? Thanks
I think the benefits of taking a short rest far outweigh the idea of pushing one's self to "make it until bed time".
pe+consonant+to stop living
variant of the pe5 after it..
Or as we Southern Belle's say...that sure is a pe5 peach you have in your icon darlin'
Thanks much, Jillyjill and Molly
Love your accent, Molly.
beat
ta5/16 plz?
hello shannon...I have that one
Jill, ends in what you do at an auction
got it!
Thought I had tried that one...
ty molly
Okay, forgot about the Peri thing.

Bye for now GA
<----!!FW!! definitely glad to be done with this grid!
Sunny here too crossy, but COLD...
*Throws confetti at Jill*
*takes bow*
do 6, please - don't have either
One sounds like the round lacy thing
The other one is almost the superlative of how old people get, without the double consonant in the middle.
Well, I must head out to load pix on my YM FB page...bbl
Or maybe...my Dalmation is do6 than yours
HAGT AT YMFB
ty molly
io 5/14, please?
goodmorning!
nm - found it
io + past tense of do
Hmm, you are thinking it's morning. Is this PTSSD? Post Tax Season Stress Disorder.
long nap. . . .
oi 5/12, please?
oi + first three of what you do on a rotary phone
ty for that oi 5
ty molly
yikes -- missing 5 pe's in the middle
It's one of those chemistry genius words we are supposed to know. *Sigh*
found the pe 5/12
my problem is that i have picked up so many words here that i have no idea what they mean and then i play my sister in boggle and she asks me what inia means and i can't tell her
stats for the first column Y please
Really? Every time inia is in the grid, at least a dozen people feel the need to say "hairy nosed dolphin alert!"
pe 6/24, please?
haha an i am probably one of those people. . .that was just an example. . .
keep seeing peridot, which isn't there!
yi 4
i do remember zarf because i love its definition so much
ty cyber
and stats for the last column E please for nbt
en5/14
ty jess
yw
yikes a fish!
nbt
ri 6/27, please?
What you do on a bike + adverb ending
Skip that, not right.
You get *** of old clothes + an al*** is a tiny street between two buildings.
ty molly
just need the pe 6's now
I clued it earlier as Mr. Scott the film director, but that did not go over well.
ty for that ri 6. this grid is being tricky
pe 6/24, please?
pe + consonant + not live
ty molly - had the other version ;(
*!* ta da *!* thanks for the help :)
dead?
whoo hooo cyber!
taped?
No, not live as in I live and breathe
ooooohhhh
bye all :)
bye cyber
molls my architect just got named the best in the city in City Paper!
there is a dickens character in the grid today. . .
Nice! Good selling point for your house, if you ever decide to do that.
nah i am planning on keeping it for life. . .
Okay, good bragging point then.
hello all
although i may move to a condo near the nats park and rent it out. . .
hi TO
hi all!
your architect did a fab job
hi sue
hi TO, jmc, Molly!
haha i just got a linked in request from my stalker. . . do you think i should accept it?
i just had dinner but i am still hungry :/
uh, duh
Ummmm...no.
Your stalker?
sage advice, molly :)
yeah. . .i thought i had lost him but i didn't. . .
Thanks, I give that advice a lot. It's brief and to the point. : D
Who is staking you? Why? Are you famous?
hi godt
HI jm
:D
i was famous enough in the peace community to have my very own stalker but I thought since i was no longer working that beat i had lost him but he keeps popping up. . . like bop a gopher
now now, how would a peaceful woman like you even know about such a vioent game? :P
You know, not to get all dull and serious, but stalking is no joke. Why does he still know your email address?
they have it at chuckie cheeses and i have a son. . .
hi godt!
i prefer whack a mole myself.
Hi uusue!
he doesn't. . . he is in linked in where my email address is "hidden"
but moles are blind. . . that seems unfair. . . .
<---Loves whack-a-mole
hello again everyone :)
great for aggressive tendencies. not that we have any :P
trust me. . . as long as this has been going on if anything really bad was going to happen it would have by now. . .
hi uu and smores
I had this vision once of creating a personalized whack-a-mole game where the faces that pop up are all the people you don't like.
hi smores.
lol..nice Molly
snap, molly. but all of mine whould have been my bosses
Hey TO
it would be too hard to decide at some points of my life. . .
nbt, finally (long day)
As long as there is no personal contact, I refer to that as internet obsession. People who feel the need to find you everywhere you go on the internet and hang on your every word, or comment on it. Sick folks.
A golfer friend of mine invisions the ball as her exes head :)
time to clean up or my uninvited guests will come out. bbs
I have a Dammit Doll. At one point in my life, that thing went upside the wall on a daily basis.
bye TO!
Bye for now TO :)
he got banned last year from the conference where i met him. . .
he is one sick puppy. . . .
ha, I could use one of those, Molly!
:D
these ants are pretty tough cookies. i cannot find the source.
wow...jmc, why was he banned
ugh...they are a nuisance TO
hello friends
hi trif!
well after years of telling lies about me he finally made the fatal mistake of telling lies about one of the conference staff. . . .
hi trif!
On phone, but wanted to say that I heard an interview on NPR this evening with Pam Fradkin
Hello friend. I am not tired or listless. I do not poop out at parties.
still WEIRD here today
spread ground cinnamon across their trail. . .
i 'll bet, trif.
trif, might last awhile.
i saw that posted in FB Babble Community science. . .
i bought natural ant spray to kill them. i know the smell kills me
hi science! I missed it but that is pretty cool!
they released a photo today of the little boy....poor thing
i want them dead, not diverted. sorry.
molls is channeling lucile ball
then borax. . .that will kill them dead
yes the one with him holding the sign is heartbreaking
Unprecedented amount of craziness in the past decade.....
indeed temple.
the spray uses peppermint oil and another oil, it does kill them
not looking at the photos. . . i still have photos left over from other events stuck in my head. . . don't need new ones
but a re6 strong smell
Yep, jmc
I dropped an arm and a freaking LEG on bruins tickets, and Im not even sure they are haivng the game, or if I want to go
I'm trying to focus on the resilience of the human spirit stories that come out of a horror story like this. And there are so many.
the cinnamon is hard on their tootsies and the borax kills them. . .
Strong smell?
if they don't have the game they will give you tickets to another game. . .
bostonians are a rare breed, I will tell you that
if they cancel you can get a refund, right, trif?
i know. i finally turned the tv off. did you read about the guy in the cowboy hat, in my ion? heartbreaking
I know what you mean JMC. This has brought back memories of a time around here I would rather not dwell on.
haha he is a anti-war vet!
btw, trif, I love your icon photo! I want stairs like that.
Cannot finish this grid.
yes the insect spray though natural has an intense mint smell. unpleasant
yes he is . his story is just incredible. how much can one family bear?
The people of Boston stood against the original tyranny in this country long before the rest of the people did. They are a rare breed indeed.
proud to say we are, molly.
okay i am off to watch jeopardy. .
no uusue....can't
bye, jmc!
Yes, no tea tax! My ancestors arrived and lived in the area!
bye je.
bye jmc. Oh, I bet you RULE at Jeopardy!
Bye jmc :)

My grandfather was a Boston cop, back when that was the only job an immigrant from Ireland could get. I have roots in that city.
I love Boston - I went to college in western MA, and trips to Boston were always a treat
my sister lived in Revere for a while

It just a sad sick situation :(
Hi all :)

Hi blue, Liz
hi liz!
hello!!
I will also admit to this - we forget NOTHING. God help the people who did this, if they do get caught.
I agree trif.
I don't think He will be helping them
I was especially moved that the Yankees are having a moment of silence at their game tonight, and playing "Sweet Caroline" which is a tradition at Fenway Park.
Good evening, friends!
hi car!
Hi car
Agree Molly
hi car.eey!
I had a friend who made the run in 3.39. She was yards away from the firt blast. So scary. It is a nightmare. Sometimes, I just wonder what in the hell we are doing as the human race. Not to mention North Korea....

hey my love! just sent you a text....taking a sewing break to suck at babbling
Don't have my phone with me. Do I need to go get it?

Clue please for the first ab 5/14?
we saw them a long time ago, they opened for brooks and dunn - we were just about on the stage since we were doing volunteer first aid there and were stationed within feet of them
Just keep thinking that way Sue. You will get all the rest of the words in the grid.

You are not a dumb shit. (Continuing on my crusade against self-depreciating behavior)
do6/33 pls
Sorry...meant TY DR!
HI Peri!
Hi smores!
hi car, hi all. nasty grid
ab5 is a dumb shit word :)
Peri, like the lacy circle that you use on a plate, only with a sometimes vowel.
hi smores and peri!
I got a do5/20 from that, molly
ty Molls, that is a dumb looking word
Seriously, have you ever read a recipe that says "when the water is ab5, put the pasta in"
lol...nope...like I said..dumb shit word
ok, now I have the do6/33
git yer ass in the kithen, ma, that water is ab5in away
LOL
Or, for the people who insist on using "alot"...I have ab5 on my ass.
haha, Molls
teehee
LOL! Molly, you crack me up!
Molly made me laugh out loud!
it sounds like bodice ripper novels I've read - "our eyes met, and within seconds my blood was aboil" ... or at least it seems a good use for it, lol
*snort*
:D
Pie in the PB for rbud
yep, oops, I meant ab5, off to the pb... and I have double fudge mini cupcakes, too, anyone care to join me?
And I would give her that word as it is so silly.
oh lord, it appears again in the re words!
Well with double fudge cupcakes, you will need a drink to cool off your bubbling blood. Champagne?
Okay, we will give her that word and I will say that re6/33 has no use unless you are Dr. Frankenstein.
certainly! why not! :D
i wish to lodge an official babble protest against re6/33.
oh, no, just got the re6/33 - I join in your protest, lol!
lol...I just got it too
Occupy Babble, a new group of protesters rises.
Sometimes I think one is told the re**** the candy or whatever.
molly: we already occpy Babble. all the time. :P
that does it! there is no definition for the re 6/33, it's officially an unword.
ok kids, time to scoot. good luck with this one.
Bye TO!
Bye TO :)
RE5/14?
got it. Too easy
re*** race
passes Bzzn a baton
lol
TY.
I just went through the list and found several very common ones I missed
I hate when that happens
or----
Hi peri :)
hey
yah...it's a love/hate thing for sure
The problem with grids like this is that you get so caught up in looking for weird words, that you miss the obvious.
yep
The list is helping, but I am still struggling with some. The kitten was sitting on my arms though, so now that he is gone I may do better.
You have another kitten??
buddy...the one we got in december
Oh, I thought he would be beyond kitten stage by now. I know nothing about cats.
He is pre-teen
I call them kittens until they are about a year
And he
and he's back...
BRB
So how does one type with a cat sitting on ones arms?
Not very easily
somehow I have caused the zoom to function...my grid is very fat...but easy to see!
FW
bye for now
bye peri!
Clue please for AL 6/24?
Love Story McGraw + sometimes vowel + I g** rhythm
Gak. TY Molly!

Hello all...back for a Babble nightcap... ;)
You should be in bed young lady!!
Aw.....say that young lady line again....LOL
I have a few more minutes vefore I turn into a pumpkin!
No wonder you are so tired midday. : D
It's just 9 PM here :P
Seriously, I hope things are good with you Jill and you are not feeling fatigued because of stress.
Doing well on the stress level actually. And looking forward to hubby and my trip to Chico on Sunday!!
He skipped gayily down the road. Should be a word IMO. Hi all.
But I appreciate your thoughtfullness Molly
Hello cosdem!
Good Evening, Everyone. How are you all this evening?
((nef)) how are you?
Doing okay, Jilly. HOw are you?
Doing well!
(Actually I'm tired; worked yesterday and today and had forgotten how hard it is to have a slow day or 2)
Oh there's Cos. I thought he had slipped off the radar screen.
My clinic RN had a family emergency; so I worked for her. We've moved to a new location (just the prenatal program) and I couldn't find things; plus they'd changed phone systems, fax machines, computers and copiers. That was the tough part of the days!
Jill, my mistake. Another vacation? Nice.
Like I was telling Molly earlier, I am looking forward to a 4 day stay at Chico Hot Springs...days have been long lately at work. Will have a new supervisor when I get back...not sure what she will bring-was only interviewed by managment; no staff or Charge nurse was on interview team.
That tells me a lot....
Nef, aren't you supposed to be retired?
Oh-oh. That's not good. (((Jill)))
And Molly, you need to be on Facebook, then you would know cosdem is alive and well....LOL ;)
Thank goodness youwill be rested when you first meet her.
Oh well, I guess not being a Facebook person has it's disadvantages. Sad but true.
Well, I have come to the point, after the past 2 years, that I am just going to trust in God....
Well, not really sad Molly, just it does keep one up on events. Facebook has it's downsides...
MOlly, I'm sort of, almost, maybe retired; but I Really missed it a lot after 10 months of not working as an RN. I (supposedly) work 6-10 hours a month. I didn't work in Jan or Feb (too busy with DH health)
I'm done here now. All you Facebook people who know how Cos is doing, say hi to him for me. Thanks.
Nurses have a tough time retiring. I would work forever; just that it seems here as if they feel us older RN's are too slow
why can't you have somebody yiddier than somebody else?
Molly, I'm on FB but I rarely post stuff on my page or elsewhere; but I read everyone else's postings and find lots of delight and wonder there. (As in "I wonder What they were thinking when they posted That!)
LOL...good word roundbarn...all words should go today considering the weird ones that ARE words
Molly, I hope I didn't offend you...it wasn't meant that way....please accept my apology
hey all!
(((stiddy)))
Well, I must to6/24 off to bed....niters all!
sweet dreams jilly -- see you soon I hope
Hi stid! How are you doing?
not bad, nef, you?
It was actually sunny and almost warm today.
We had sunshine too here (and 46 degrees (F)
Sorry, I've been trying to chat in the word box again. Good Night Jilly
did you go to your house today or did you take a day off?
If "yert" isn't a word for a Mongolian home, what is? That got refused in a recent grid, too!
yeah, i kept trying that one too
I think it's spelled "yurt" isn't it?
I need sleep. I don't know where I'm entering words; but they aren't going in the word box OR the chat. Good Night and Happy Babbling, Everyone!
you're right, nef. I just looked it up in my big websters. Now in this grid the urt on top can only wave at the two y's far frim them.
nef has gone. well, goodnight, Nef, I slept through a lecture on /Egypt tonight so I guess I better go to bed, too.
