yeah! they don't include anne of windy poplars or anne of ingleside FYI. ingleside really reads a bit more like a collection of shorts about her kids for the most part so is missable, but windy poplars is worth grabbing separately.
I know it does not include all of the books but it was a great buy.

Dan, I attended my 40th and it was fun. Our group actually looks pretty good and everyone was so glad to see each other.
One of my classmates dropped dead of a heart attack several weeks ago at age 54. Nice guy with kids 17 and 20.

That's just too young, Scrab. I had a heart attack last year...don't intend to do that again! Woke up having a heart attack....had 100% blockage of an artery. Ambulance here, at hospital, stent placed in one hour! Heart disease is strong in my family. My biological father was already dead by my age (61). Not me!

The meds they put you on after are worse than the heart attack. I was on 8 when I left the hospital but am down to 3 now....yay for me!

OK, crossy, here's something that makes me crazy (and only ME, I'm sure). Having raised apes and monkeys, it makes me nuts when someone calls an ape a monkey. Kind of like calling a human an ape...not accurate an insulting. I know---I'm really weird......

I don't believe in talking down to kids. If they're capable of learning, and they certainly are, then they should be taught correctly. It's just as easy to learn the right names as the wrong ones.
All three of my kids knew their alphabet at 18 months simply because we had plastic letters we played with and since each one had a different shape, they also had different names. They didn't learn the alphabet in order but knew all the letters and enjoyed my one-on-one play quizzing. We had fun learning that way. Educational doesn't have to be dull and if they grow enjoying learning, that never leaves. They all three have degrees now.
my "kid" is 19 now and freshly graduate.now he is slug that only moves enough to recharge his laptop and eat 200 dollars of food a week.hope the mrs and i survive this phaze with our sanity intact

I had all my kids in my 30's so I still have two that are 26 and 28. I'm just hoping I live long enough to become smart again in their eyes!
I advised mine just the opposite, crossy. I told my kids to NEVER grow up...that it had nothing to recommend it and to stay footloose and fancy free as long as possible. When my eldest (32) complained about all his responsibilities with kids, house, etc., I just said "Hey, don't complain to me now. I gave you the best advice I had but you decided to grow up anyway!"

Still looking at house plans with stidmama. She sends them by email so I can look at the plans, photos, and so on. Some of the houses seem just too small. They like to cook and the kitchens tend to be just fine for those people who microwave dinner.

reading back,stidmere on house plans.the idea of master BR on ground floor with spare upstairs is great but crossy must have a large kitchen 20x20 minimum.i can live with the same size for master br and perhaps a 15 x15 for spare br.wife has to have large bathroom though

There used to be lots of travelling, which I loved. I seem to spend most of my life writing specifications for tenders, and running finance reports, these days. Hate that stuff, I was employed for my creativiirty and I don;t get much chance to use it any more

i can get a lump sum and small pension in 3 years, then state pension and another pension in 8 years

that's a shame glant. i think people need to enjoy there work or it's not worth doing as you don't put 100% in and everyday is the same. is there not something else you could do or look for something similar until you can retire or take early retirement
