Hello Everyone!
yay, jilli, nice job
hey puglet
hi there puglet
heallo puglet
puglet, I have an idea your 3 dogs are pugs, right?
I only have one right now
the other are-1 great dane and 1 is a boxer mix
pugs are so friendly -- I have a friend who has about four now, plus two cats who think they're pugs.
puglet -- I'm an ex Gt DAne breeder and exhibitor!
what colour is your Dane?
oh wow Jilli----My Dane(Beulah) she is black with a few brindle stripes
that's unusual, puglet -- where did she co me from?
maybe she's a really dark brindle
Hi all :)
she was on her way to the pound--A friend's granddaughter got her from her boyfriends family and after getting her found out they couldnt have a dog at there apartment
hi liz
Hi LIZ
so glad you rescued her, puglet
You cant really see the brindling unless you know where it is--and then its hard to see unless the light hits it just right
I still think she's genetically a brindle, just very dark -- but never mind -- she's a Dane and beautiful and sweet, I bet
at the time I got her I wasent in the mood for a dog- I had to put to sleep 2 of my boxers due to old age and cancer----but I guess God knew what I needed more than I--lal--She is 3 now and too darn smart for her own good
give her a big hug from me, puglet. So sorry about your boxers -- it's so tough to lose them.
Thats the worse part of being a pet owner---She is a very kindhearted dog.She lets my pug rule her--Te
hello all - talking of pets - my younger cat has feline biliary (tick bite) and blow me he is hiding - need to get two tablets and squirt of antibiotic down his throat - little devil knows and has gone into hiding
I miss my Danes and my cat but can't have any more
cats are so contrary at times -- they think they know better
trying to get tablets down them is a major chore they really bring all 10 claws into the battle !!
oh, I know -- and if you think you got one down they spit it out
Hi Ursh--best of luck-hehe---when its flea pill time my Dane has the biggest mouth and shes the hardest to get the pill down
over halfway, yippee
at least with dogs you can hide the pill in something they like and they usually gobble it down - i always have a second piece on hand so they are in a hurry to get that too - but cats - no way
WTG Jilli :)
I was able to give my cat her anti-hypothyroiid pill in cheese
hmmm jilli - shall try that Whisky loves cheese
well that dont work with my Dane--she eats the treat and out rolls the darn pill
smart Beulah -- roll it into a sausage of meaty food and just shove it down her throat, stroke her neck until she swallows, cuddling her all the time.
I have put in into different meat products and you think its down but she rolls it to the side or under the tounge and out it comes
you really have to shove it down the throat, past the tongue.
I crush it up now and just stir it in the can food
I crush it up now and just stir it in the can food
oh well, whatever works
what's the pill for?
My horses were easier taking meds then her--lal
fleas-heartworm ect
my pug and boxer takes their just fine but not Beulah
you can get a diff flea treament -- also heartworm I think -- long out of the game
ok, bedtime -- nice chatting -- goodnight all...*poof
did you move to where you cant have your danes Jilli--if you dont mind me asking
good night J
night jilli. hope you sleep well, hun
I thought you had left Rose
hopping in and out, checking emails. besides didn't want to interrupt you and jilli
did you get to work on your stress
*giggle* levels coming down nicely. my immediate superior is back from annual leave. told her she can keep her job, i don't want it!!
WONDERFUL!! I dont blame you at all!
*sigh* so i'm sitting here in my nice cosy lounge with hubby beside me. all is very peaceful at the moment. mother mac is slowly becoming more independent again.
thats good and nice to hear about mac
and you, puglet? had a good day? apart from trying to force feed a reluctant dog?
I make my sister and Gene(the older gentleman) do as much for theirself as they can---Of course they woild like for me to do it all for them but it does them no good
so true, hun. it makes me nuts when my sis-in-law comes. she even wants to cut up mother macs meat for her.
yes I did! it was 80, a beautiful day! I worked inside and out and today its to be the same--Althought I got to take my sister to doctor this morn--I plan on replanting some trees and flowers
it's all i can do to restrain myself from throwing something at her.....like the teapot...
it rained here today, a good soaking rain. we need a few more weeks of that sort of rain. and for the first time in nearly 4 years i am actually motivated to work in my garden.
Oh I know the feeling! People dont understand its for their own good to let them do for themselves
well thats nice Rose--nothing like digging in the dirt and the smell of it
are you planting flowers or veggies
there was an experiment done over here a while ago. they put all these so-called high-dependency aged men in a house, all properly equipped throughout, and then they were told they had to unpack their bags themselves, cook for themselves, wash, clean, etc. at the end of 4 weeks, when they were visited again, all of them had physically and mentally improved.
flowers puglet. still waiting for my raised garden bed for the veggies
Oh I can whole heartly believe that!
it was an amazing transformation!
When I worked in the nursing home alot of those people wanted their own independent but werent allowed it by either family or staff
brb gotta get some coffee
you back, puglet? i had to go potty.
just sat back down
you got the coffee, i got the bourbon. ;)
my Mom will be 93 in June and lives with me - i cook the main meal of the day but she does her own breakfast and lunch - she also feeds the 3 cats and 1 dog twice a day albeit at 5.45am and feeds our gardener when he is here - hanging on to being needed which i think is important
absolutely, urshy.
I think that means alot too--And its good your mom is still active
i might add it takes her nearly an hour per pet feeding but what the heck there is no rush
urshy, she's doing it. my hat's off to her. please hug her for me. as for my own mother....nope, not going there.
your elderly people are lucky that you and Rose wants them to be apart of your life..Some family just want to get them out of their lives
i have wealthy brothers and we have decided when the time comes we will get a nurse in to take care of her needs - she really does not want to go into care
ditto, here, urshy. we are not going to put mother mac into care. as a matter of fa4, i have an arrangement with my sis-in-law. when the time comes, we are going to take it in turns to look after her here at home.
nice rose - i am not a nurse and would be afraid of hurting her while trying to help
i suppose it depends, urshy, on just how much assistance she will require.
I dont have parents to worry about(they both died young),but I worry about my sister if something were to happen to me
she does very well as long as she is cued to what to do
i have 3 sibs so were i to get hit by a bus Mom would be OK
puglet, is she just becoming older, or is something else amiss?
I got 5 sisters and they all have their own lives(so it seems)
she has (dont know the spelling-sorry) skitz and shes a diabetic
she is one year younger than I
i think once one sister takes care of a family member in need the others just relax and let go of all responsibility
awww, puglet. that's so tragic....are her meds helping her?
sibs just dont realise how much planning it takes to organise one's own life around taking care of someone and just how much is sacrificed
to some degree--its a constant battle keeping the sugar level right--when it out of whack then it throws the mental out too
so true, urshy. all my bros and their wives were very happy for me to drive 45minutes 3 times a week to our mother's home, to help her with everything. then i started to fall apart, as you know, and now, they have to step up to the mark. not happy little campers, i can tell you.
she hears voices and they can take up all her time if I dont make sure she stays connected with the real world--if that makes sense
urshy, you have .....then you probably do have....an idea of how i feel when i he4 my sis-in-law talking about how she is going overseas again, or off to the other end of australia....and i think....you selfish cow....how about giving us a break?
yes, puglet, it does make sense....and it takes a lot out of you, struggling each day, to keep your sister in our world.
rose - only too well - my sibs all travel a lot and my sis has a resort in mocambique which takes up more than half of her time
isn't it frustrating, urshy? and if don and i ask her to have mother mac for a weekend....well, it hits the fan in a major way.
lololo rose so familiar
although to be fair by brothers both live far away and would have mom anytime - but she wont go
Its good that God puts us caregivers into this world--isnt it
*giggle* and then there is don's brother, who says...mum??in respite care again?? and he hasn't, not even once in 9 years, taken his mother out for a day, to give us a break.
Rose, sounds like your Mom is a stronge will women
too true pug - hopefully we will get extra blessings one day
yeah, puglet....you are so good to remind us. thanx, hun.
I really miss having elders to go to for advice and such. I kinda find that here thanks to all of you
puglet, hun, i think i have said it before. my email addy is in my profile. please feel free to 'chat' anytime you like.
hello?
hah, I think my friends are still here
Thank You, Rose--I will if I need too,I promise!
Hi
{{ruby}} how's my favourite friend in france?
hello ruby
i saw the pics of rafaella. soooo cute.
Hope you are feeling better now after your visitors
rose, that was Ruby, old pix
I still haven't figured out how to send the new ones of Rafie et famille
{{little pug ursh and rose}}
you all talk about ageing parents. I am dealing with this rapidly falling-apart husband which is very similar. The big difference is that we're on our own here, no relatives, no health insurance nothing
Im still here
oh.....*pouts*
hmmmm ruby very tough for you - would going "home" not make it easier for you ?
ffor me, this is home. I have MY house, gaden and dogs, and, especially after this visit, I wouldn't consider going to live in Texas with my son and his wife!!@@
i understand ruby - is home help and nursing affordable for you in France ?
I think, when the time comes, I will just have a nurse come in daiy to see to Burt's personal needs.
He will be 88 in Sept
do we get special dispensation for saying ro**? I just saw it in the grid....
lol ruby - yes i think we should
I think ro** is very well connected
lol, you two.....stop it! my head will be twice it's normal size
yep ro** has friends in high places
*sigh*
what am i gonna do with you two??
husband has just been obsessing about an old friend/biz colleague in PE this morning. I've been trying to help him sort out what he'll write, what is apprpriate, what will make him feel better, etc.
(lal) I believe she does!
"Bad girls unite!"
oh, no...not you too, puglet?
my brother lives in PE
Hail! Hail! Ruby
please to ex6 my ignorance...PE??
<-- loves PE
sorry, Port Elizabeth, on the Indian Ocean. I used to go there a couple of times a year on biz
to me it means Pulmonary Embolism......i am so hoping that's not the csae here
ahhhh, many thanx, ruby
and burt's friend is not well?
Just ask me where anything is in Australia, and you'll come against this dark wall of total ignorance
no, he just wrote to Burt, out of the blue, much to Burt's confusion and partial dismay
lolol, ruby. that's okay. we can be ignorant together.*links arms with ruby* this is my friend, folks!!
i'd begin with telling burt how wonderful it is, that one of his old friends is still thinking of him. and thinking of him enough to actually write. it's lovely.
fireworks here - need to go shower and get on with the day - lovely to chat keep well all
{{ursh}}
same to you Ursh

Im down to 91
okay, sweetie. as i just said, won't be home til nearly 3:40 am (babble time) tomorrow

Sorry, meant clue please for he 7/32
No problems - found it
back, trying to get half before nap
65 words, nothing bigger than a 6!
hey, ruby -- how's your new furbaby doing?
bonjour une
except for acting like a fountain when she drinks water, she is a charmer. She's still a little bit funny-looking but is otherwise adorable and very smart and friendly
she sounds wonderful :-)
and she and Ruffino have an interesting and good relationship
aaawww, that's great :-)
he is very tolerant and lets her bite him and stuff and he sometimes drags her by one leg, but nobody cries out, so I think it's fine
:-D
since Ruby died, he has turned into a handsome, dignified and lovely adult, even though he's not 18 months old yet
are they enjoying springtime?
springtime? Asif.... The weather has continued to be awful
We had about 6 sunny days since Dec but it's still cold and often, rainy
oh . . . I think it's been crazy everywhere -- it's been up and down here -- they called it blackberry winter a couple of weeks ago . . .
think chog just ate my post -- BBL -- good to see you, Ruby *poof*
red boxes of doom!
bye une
She bites him?? : O

Hey Teach :)
hello smores
How are you? Back to normal I hope.
Back to normal. Still can't keep up with 2 year old grandson but never did before
hi lyn, smore
hi teach
haha....but I'm sure you have fun trying :)
hello TO
grr...my time is almost up
Smores timer tick, tick, ticks...
My experiment with sugar/dairy free "ganache" turned out pretty good...
you'll need to share the recipe
I of course prefer the lots of fat and sugar recipe...but nice alternative
That's good. I'm kind of religious about ganache. It's real deal or no deal for me. That goes for pretty much anything chocolate.
Me too, thankful I don't have health issues that prevent me from enjoying it.
that bottom left h is giving me agita
Same thing for low fat cheese. I'd rather not have cheese than have the low fat, no taste kind.
I will figure it out and post recipe this evening teach :)
I'm not saying anything but truthfully I just found fatcow
If you successfully dieted, you are exfat.
TOwl - It was a word in here about a week ago - or an alternate spelling...he7 greek floosey
If you magically dieted, you are hexfat
i use cabot redued fat cheddar. if you don'teat it alongside of regular, its is fine. melts nicely, too.
if you used to be a snitch, you are an exrat.
:)
thanks lyn. scarily, i got it right away
hi Kap!

Hey thanks! You know I have 2 bags of almond meal on m y kitchen counter and couldn't remember what I made with them. Now you have reminded me! Yay!
they weren't for the almond bread - though I did make those and they are delicious
I really like almonds. Had them fresh in Portugal with withe Port. Heaven! Must be breakfast time, thinking about food...
often use instead of meat in stir-fries too
my daughter used almond meal in yummy pancakes :-)

there is a funny yellow thing in the ski here today
ah sweet mystery of life . . .
*sky
my mom laughed so hard at that song that she started wheezing! LOL
we had that funny yellow thing yesterday, jmc! :-)
:-)
Name that other proper noun: Early 80's gaming system.
atari
nbt!
i am hot today!
Ding! Ding! Ding!
go jmc!! LOL
you'd think with all their alternate spellings they would accept girate
hello! random: also a late 80s gaming system in there
hmmm
hatari
they all sounded the same at that time. . .
For the h8 I have the alien, what we breathe but I can't find the end. Any help?
Not much copyright infringment there. Or was it the same company?
ha! by the late 80s, with the introduction of the Nintendo, other systems popped up including one by the gaming company Sega.
vowel at the end Kenny
first vowel, kenny
it's a he7
i think they were the same company
no, they weren't. though you could plug a sega controller into an atari system.
sega was first a company that produced games, including games for the atari.
no i mean atari and hatari. . .
hi all
Gesundheit.
hatari was a movie in the 60s?
No, knut - we were talking about gaming systems.
I found a co8. :-)
hatari -- yes, africa LOL
clue for that, judi?
hatari is a 60s movie
just monkeyed sc6 and 7 -- new to moi . . .
Huh. Did that involve English subtitles and a large lizard like monster in Japan?
yes. Hatari is a John Wayne movie.
no, set in afrixa. you would probably know the theme song
no, judi LOLOL
Ohhhh! Yes. I've seen that.
:-D
I think there was a toothless lion in that movie.
http://tinyurl.com/yejkg5j [Open in new window]
movie recommendation -- french movie i watched this weekend (got from local library): The Intouchables -- lead actor won French version of Oscar -- based on true story
both funny and poignant
oh dear . . . my french movie killed the chog . . .
John Wayne movie, mostly ad-libbed....very politically incorrect for today but a good movie
Hatari, that is
most John Wayne films would be politically incorrect today, eh? LOL

une, cant get that ex word. cant get from the x to the s........
You don't get from ex to s. When a clue says "most of sc6/21" that means most of, not all of.
hello molly

i said DELETE s :-)
"Cat in Paris" looks adorable.
i see it's out on dvd -- off to check my local liberry online *poof*

It just seems like an odd prerequisite for the profession.
education in what clients want, I guess
but geisha also sing and entertain
Who are you looking for Hursh?
and are treated with respect
whoever it was that wanted to know if my oven was on :)
I wasn't, but I'll bite...was it?
nope
and geishas arent necessarily cortisans.............it was their choice.
exactly, mkg
did i stumble upon "everything you wanted to know about prostitutes but were afraid to ask" hour?
nice to have expertise
did any of you read the book "geisha"? it wsa very interesting. i read it before our first trip to japan.
Not really, discussing the definition of he7

Hi Trif, nice to see you...Enable does not know afros

I hate the dentist more than pretty much anything on earth
no work today, just a consultation. when I heard the fee I kept a straight fa4 but I was more than suprised.
hiya Babblers :)
hi sprite :)
i had some grid momentum going this morning, but i think ive lost it all!
hi Annie :)
same for me, mael. Dentist scares the living daylights out of me
hi EvaN, :(
hola! :)
you'll have to go on till you get your second wind then :)
some of my favorite relatives are dentists, I just think they are secretly sadists for having chosen that profession
no doubt. Even talking about it makes me break out in cold sweat. No kidding.
that's why Dentists have the highest suisidal rate
hi flosey! :) Really?
hi everyone
apparently
everyone seems to dread visiting the dentist
didn't know that. I know only one dentist personally, the husband of a friend of mine.
google it
hm most google pages say it is a myth. But it is true that they have a high suicide rate.
love your icon, sprite
thanks flosey :)
can't see that bottom H for the life of me. Everything I can think of can start from the upper H as well.
nm... asking is finding
alt sp of a courtesan(sp?)
he7 is a greek word meaning an educated courtesan
thanks, both of you :)
youre welcome, sprite
welcome... I had just found it.
I got it from a clue this morning
Occupation generally has little to do with suicide.

it's okay. not too bad.
i must be very tired, i did get down with the help oif lickety, but i can't seem to tease out the last of the fish - and i KNOW they are fishy...
take a break and come back.
lol, i did that. it usually works. i should make something to drink, that'll pick me up.
yes, some caffeine is in order, bbs
<---lends a hand to pick kate up.
thanks hego, much appreciated. would you like a slab of carrot cake? (slices of cake are for people who can't hamndle their sugar) ;)

it's a money word
hi winding, and thanks! :)

hi all, clue for the 10 pls?
I never know what's normal for people. I haven't been doing this very long, so I'm learning lots of words.

beg away . . .
we'll give you a marriage license too :) niagara fallls still has water ;)
thank you une, and HI! :) i'm sure they are fishy... ar 6/18 and cr 5/12
NF will be more fun
There are three cr 5/12s... did you need the box or the baby sound?
er. there are *two
very kitschy, but lots to do in the area. do some of the wine country tours, go to shaw festival, hit up toronto... in fact come up in august and you can hit the pride parade too :))
sorry winding, the one missing was the baby sound... but i know i already put that in. lickety has had some hiccups in that department today. when i listed, i found a slew of words that were already accepted.... grrrr okay... ar 6/18 for fw...don't make me go to more words any more today - PLEASE!!!
that one's harder to clue without spelling it out. Starts like the ar4 song and ends like the r4 flower.

i think its a t word.. in the grid.
Oh. Sorry.
oh dear! (lol) i never heard that before judi.
Ty. That is one bogus word.
so, today's crown in the grid would be the x... i will have to remember that
i have to go for a bit, does anyone else want to take a chance on one of my typpo clues - guaranteed to make you tear your hair out?

and of course as soon as I say that I get the 9.
Hi uu don't have the clues you need.
hi gmere!
hi sue. think really hard for the co8! :-)
got that one, thanks dorens! Now I am just missing the 10
I figure the 10 must be related to the 9 even though it comes first?
use the co8
ty dorens.
Ah. Thinking outside the box, as it were. Thanks again, dorens!!
and the 9 is siimilar- a scathing review
ex cuse me... to give a scathing review
Good night all.
night g'mere
night gmere!
sue, do you have the first co6?
I don't, Dorens; I don't have any co6
ok. might have to resort to morewords and co8
I just made one by sticking a double vowel on the end of an outer garment, but I don't know if that's the first
nope. believe it or not there's one before it
I have the first one
can you clue it please mam?
it is a description of a strand of hair
co _+ vowell + a golfing pin
OMG, it's an actual word!!
according to lickety there is one before than ru. thanks mam
opposite of fine, when describing hair
anyway animals need to be fed, bbl
ohh. i just monkeyed it finally. thanks
gorcock
LOL Doren gets the prize for creative spelling
haha. sorry. i was playing around with the go7. could swear i had put in the word before and it didn't take!!
and hello all
this was the twistiest grid in a long time! how is it going stid?
it's going, Doren, thanks. How are you? How are your Boston kids doing? I think the Northeast is done with weather and such for a while...
boston son is fine... he and his wife are planning to move to california this summer.... the other son moved to baltimore with the kids, so i've been driving down there much more than Boston lately. and yes about the weather. today was siimply beautiful... the bluest sky, and all the green around.. trees are leafing, perennials are popping up and unfurling, lawns are greening. i needed a day like this
hi stid!!
oh, I am glad you had nice weather too! It got REALLY cold last night and I hadn't turned the electric heaters on. I have spent the rest of the day opening windows and letting in the light!
hey sue!
we've been in the 80s for the past couple of days but that is all crashing down tonight, back to the 40s and 50s, with rain
I am glad your children are okay, Doren. I know it's a west-coast thing (and not something I would have done until recently) but for me everything north of DC splits between NY and Boston. *wicked mama grin* even though I DO remember how long it takes to drive from one point to the other!
but it's been very nice in the meantime!
glad you are having seasonal weather at least, sue -- hoping the farmers are getting what they need for a change, too.
how are the critters taking to their new digs?
gotta run. good to see you ladies
dunno about the farmers, we had floods last week that messed up the planting, maybe they are better now
bye dorens!
((Doren)) have a lovely evening!
floods = not good
oh, I forgot to get our artichokes from the garden today. I want to harvest them before they bolt!
Good morning / good evening :)
hey liz! how's autumn coming along for you?
Beautifully, thanks. About 26 C most days, with pretty clear blue skies!
greetings al
Your artichokes sound yummy!
Hi Cos
hi cos and liz!
hey cos!
Hi Sue - Congrats to you and Frank. I saw that you got your wedding license :)
oh congrats sue! ryan and i are getting CUs this week or next week so we can have a joint reception? :)
Oh, yes, congratulations to Sue and Frank, how wonderful.
???? WEDDING LICENSE???? *zips around as if chased by a hive of hornets* YIPPEE!!!!!!!!
Oooooh! Did I stir something up?
Congrats to you and Ryan too, Cos :)
yay cos!!
and thanks all! We are very excited!!
So good that there's good news in the chog :)
I agree Liz. This place is usually so full of the "other" kind of news. Nice to see people posting happy stuff.
its snowing though... the day civil unions go in law it snows lol
hell just froze over i guess.
lol, cos! You may be right!
LOL cos!
:)
Well, if you were anywhere but Colorado. : D
looks like we're gonna get it on friday
Good for you and Ryan, Cos. Hope you two have a nice ceremony.
So colorado has CU but not marriage?
That's how Washington started out. Now we have marriage... I'll come throw rice at you if you want! :-D
the only way we get marriage here is if the supreme court rules any constitutional ban is overturned.. or if the voters here vote to repeal the ban...
cu'S?
ah. well, I think it will happen. I hope so, anyway. OR you can come out here and get married. And I'll throw rice. Or oats. Or cedar seeds. But not stones.
hey ruru
mongrel dogs cu 4/6
and cussin' cu 5/14
lol we're already married though
we have a license from iowa
and what scissors do to paper... cu 4/6
oh! Well then! *happy mama look* glad you're not merely *whispers* cohabitating
must run, all, see you all later!!
later sue! Love to frank!
Enjoy your evening, Sue :)
what's a CU?
civil union
oh... LOL Civil Union
ah.. don't throw rice.. throw pot at them stid
sorry, thought you wanted CLUUUUZ! *grin*
equal but separate
<---hopes for the day when all marriages are equal and accepted
well, I only have a few pots at the moment, ruru - and my Le Creuset (from a friend) are NOT getting thrown at (or to) anyone any time soon!
not THAT kind of Pot..
I Hope the supreme court oversteps their bounds and rules all bans unconstitutional :P
*innocent mama look* what sort of pot might you be referring to?
the kind thats legal in WA and CO
Good going, stiddie....LOL
anyhoooo lol
ugh my icon hasnt updated.
*knows Stid is a pot head*
Will some kind soul give me a clue for the blankety-blank co8-55? Thanks
anyone who gets the munchies THAT often and has choclits all the time HAS to be a pothead
co 8 to ponder and think
I can't, ruru.
you can't?
Think. Mind is just slogging along.
oh.
mmm
co + okie for leave+ past tense of eat
okie for leave?
*** along lil doggies
cute.... *** along little dogie
snap.... LOL typed that just as you did ruru
*knocks on ruru's brainpan and finds it empty* Actually, CHOCLITs are my way of coping with STUPID PEOPLE. *indulgent mama smile*
made me smile, I got it, and I'm not an okie :-)
Thanks, oh, so much both of you wonderful people. I wish I could drink.
and sorry I disappeared, kid who no longer lives at home just realized he squandered two weeks of lead-time to find a new place to live...
oh...gee stid.. I feel so loved..
Put that co 8 together with a common prefix, and you have the 10
*offers ruru choclits*
drink or think gapeach?
I (don't really like chocolates)
I (don't really like chocolates)
I like virgin daiquiris, peach -- could you have one of those? will share...
Well, both, actually.....ru.
oh. okay. offers ruru special-brownies. *wink*
*picks stid up off the floor*
Thanks much, Liz.
oh wait. you don't like choclits. um... banana creme pie?
I'll take a virgin stid.. you keep the daquiri
yw :0
rofl ruru
:) - finger slipped!
Laughing makes typing difficult!
Clue for go 7 please
the bloodiest movie liz
Ahhh! Thanks very much :)
And somehow that led me to the go 5 after it!
Aw, stiddie, thanks. I'd rather have a non-virgin but the alcohal makes my heart beat too fast. I just love Scotch....my daughter used to keep a bottle in the kitchen and occaisionly I would open it and just sit there and smell (talk about pitiful).
oh, that is too bad -- I don't usually like the effects of alcohol actually, but I use it to flavor some foods.
anyway, speaking of food...
<---likes a gentle alcoholic buzz..
down to 33 and need to figure out what to do for the kid who is about to be out on the streets. *sigh* there has GOT to be a better way...
*poof*
Enjoy your evening stid :)
<---Doesn't like the effects of alcohol either. Hahahahahahahahaha!
Damn, you're good, Molly. LOL
Peach, I have this hilarious mental image of you in the kitchen sniffing the Scotch bottle.
Must make some phone calls.....bbl.
evening all!
Fireworks :)

Good Evening Everyone! How are you all tonight?
hi nef
hi folks
Hi ruru and welki. How are you doing tonight?
hey nef - calming down. frightening day - bomb scare at work. the manhattan is starting to do it's magic :)
I've been trying to understand my car insurance info and am totally confused by it tonight (maybe it will make sense tomorrow?)
OMG, welki! What happened?
put it under your pillow tonight, nef
Here I thought you were retired; (how confused am I?)_
some dodo decided to bring what is probably a bomb through security - the x-ray machine picked it up, thank goodness
that's because i WISH i was retired - a lot.
what type of work do you do?
i work in the legal system
how scary! DId they have you continue working or give you time off?
the building, and a couple in the vicinity were evacuated, and a few blocks surrounding the scene were cleared as well. transit was shut down. thousands of people were diverted out of the area
glad that nothing went boom - but felt bad for all the folks who left the building without coats, keys, handbags, phones
Oh, My! Was it very cold there today?
probably around 50F, but windy and cloudy
It sounds like it's a big city; that must have been a headache for everyone.
by canadian standards, it's pretty big, over a million people. coming from nyc, i think it's sort of cute :)
(Why would you leave without your purse and phone?) I'd hate to be evacuated from somewhere and leave all of my ID's and $$$ and credit cards behind!
because if you're employed in the building, say a court clerk, you'd be in a court room and your personal stuff would be in your office
where are you, Welki? I obviously thought you were in some smaller town that that
OH! I didn't thick along those lines at all!
(nor did I THINK that way either)
calgary, nef . here's a link to a local news brief: http://tinyurl.com/d3jpe6f
Wow! What a horrid day!
(have another Manhatten)
was a good day - no one was hurt
yes; that IS good news. But they thought it was for a family court appearance? Holly Cats!
Holy Catsa, even. (I can't type worth a darn tonight)
Holy Cats! Love it!
Oh - holly cats! and holy catsa! even better! LOL
all i know is that the jackass scared the crap out of an entire city and put thousands of people at risk
very true. I was trying to read parts of the article to DH; but finally gave up and emailed it to him.
*waves to Nef's husband*
hey nef, are you anywhere near St. Cloud?
I was trying to type "Holy Cats" both of those times.
I live 60 mile south of St. Cloud in a northern Twin City suburb, welki
Holly Cats - I have one of those decorative plates that has a theme like that. But Holy Catsa! Dat's Italian :)
LOL! :-)
one of my very good friends just moved there from pennsylvania - she's a great gal. wish you were closer, i'd 'introduce' the two of you
well, I want to drive up there go to a craft store there and drive back (in a fairly short time) next week to see how DH tolerates that much of a day trip.
We're going to a 2 day convention up there in 3 weeks; but DH's dream of following the Mississippi River and checking out the different B-B-Q flavors along the way will require a fair amount of stamina for him.
i just msged her, asked if she'd be interested in meeting a friend of a friend :)
I'll be doing the driving; but I think road trips can be as tiring for the passenger as it is for the driver; especially when last year was so bad.
That would be interesting; does she Babble yet?
she's tried it - we play another word game, used to play tangleword (which has been replaced with serpentine). it's a quick game, 1, 2 or 3 minute rounds
hmmm, I don't know those games (and probably shouldn't be tempted if they are the least bit addicting)
just occurred to me that we probably have been pals for 7 or 8 years!
Why did she move to St. Cloud?
tangleword closed down - one of the members created a replacement game. yes, it's addictive - http://serpentinegame.com/#
her husband's job was relocated
all on-line? Or do you know her in real life too?
sure feels real, but online. one of those folks who you just know you'll meet one day. she's funny, smart, down to earth - just a nice person
(and she loves irish wolfhounds - so how bad could she be?)
would be nice for her to meet someone local - don't know if she's had much opportunity to socialize in the few weeks she's been there. she and her husband have just purchased a house (all their stuff is in storage until they close on the place) and i know she misses her kids
LOL! :-)
how old are her kids?
(BTW, I just tried that game... It's addicting!)
anyway, i'm signing off for the evening. send me a msg on FB if you want me to connect the two of you. (her kids are young adults, but very close to their parents - nice family)
LOL -- it's great, isn't it?!
the developer has just re-vamped the game, so there may be a few glitches until he gets everything debugged - but you'll like it. if you see doridk there, say hi - that's my friend :)
Okay, I'll try to find you there (I never know who I know on FB or not. Do you know me there?
yes, i sent you a message a few minutes ago
ah sserpentine
hi welki, its MRBOGGLE
hey you! nice to see you here! a little bit of a different venue, eh?
i like the time
nef, meet mrboggle, an incredible serpentine player -- mrb, meet nef
sometimes serp is too fast
i was requesting 7 minutes for the 8x8 earlier
Hi mrb
the world just keeps getting smaller and smaller
the boggle world anyway... most games are shutting down
hi nef
if you can find the bucks, the upgrade here is about 15 bucks, a one time charge, and will keep the tile/word stats active for you. i think they get shut off after a few weeks of playing
(some players toss the developer a few bucks every now and then as a thank you, too)
hmmm?
*hmmmming along*
yep; I think it's 2 weeks and then you can't see how many words are in each grid.
after 2 weeks
hi jmc.
hi all
hello, jm - good to 'see' you
was just leaving, though - so hi/bye and have a good night, everyone!
good night, welki!
bye welki. . .
i don't liked timed games. . .the make me jittery
she had a rough day today; hope she gets some solid sleep and rest tonight
oh?
bomb scare.
oh!
how are you holding up nef?
Hello everyone :)
hi smores
I play weboggle.. that's a timed game
jmc, check the archives starting at 8:31 PM and you will see how her day was
i was playing words with friends but i kept getting frozen out of it so i finally gave up. . .
okay thanks nef
Right now I can't access Words with Friends through FB; only through my tablet or phone
well i guess i am glad it isn't just me. . .
who had a bomb scare Nef?
hey all
hi stiddie
I've been pretty frazzled lately, jmc; but I'm starting to think that that may be my "new normal" due to the DIL. :-/
welki apparently smores
well, Nef -- these are words; we are friends... words with THESE friends? *hopeful mama look*
welki, smores. Hi smores ruru and stid
oh oh Nef (((gentle, protective hugs)))
eekkk...that's scary
dear me i forgot to say hi to ru!
hi ru
i am sorry the DIL is a problem. . .
down to 32, not sure I should list yet...
and stid; I''ve missed to post office 3 days in a row now. I'll try again tomorrow
*mimes drop-kicking DIL over Niagara Falls*
they don't pick up at your house nef?
I haven't ever been to Niagara...
does anyone play Letter Lynx at Gander Games?
LOL, stid. I wish I didn't care so much about her; but she's really flip-flopping bi-polar right now and is suicidal. It's been a bit nuts
no i don't pen. . . is it a timed game?
oh man. That stinks, Nef -- wish they could get that under control for her. SO scary when someone does that. ((more hugs))
Niagara is interesting stiddie. . .
I'm sending a package to stid, jmc. Some cookbooks that DH is wanting to get rid of (and stid wants)
but there are taller falls in Idaho which is closer to you and Nef
you can weigh them at home and print out a label from online at the post office and they will pick them up nef
oooh! MUST GET TO PO!!!! *she said, unselfishly* I know you want them out of your way...
*grin*
did you ever write up a book list stiddie so I can send you books to replace yours??
I've never been to Niagra either; (always dreamed about those heart shaped bath tubs; and I'm not a bath person; much prefer showers!0
LOL I cleared out the other freezer yesterday, Nef - anticipating my Blue Book! :-) Ready for a jam-making session to replace the ones I lost.
you can get heart shaped bathtubs in reno. . .
I have some up on Amazon, jmc --
yes it is timed and competitive....pretty much like boggle
I think you can search my screen name?
if you have one you want to send me, let me know and I can take down that title! :-)
oh okay i will look for them then. . .stiddie
hi all. back to do more.
any clues for the 10? i have the 9 but i dont see the ex 10.
hi jm
Oh, I didn't realize I could do that stid. Are you stidmama everywhere?
otherwise... right now I am gravitating to things like Ashleigh Brilliant and Erma Bombeck. Funny, easy to understand, short. Things I can wrap my addled brain around.
pen for some reason i enjoy boggle but timed games on the internet send me into a frenzy . . .
ex + c 8 mkg
how about a funny regency romance novel?
how's your pecked this week, mkg?
i dont have c 8. how about a clue for the c 8?
yep, that would be lovely, jmc!
or a dorothy parker?
do i have your address?
cogitate
I was going to send you some Garrison Keeler; but didn't know if you'd like dry Minnesota humor....
I am going to be spending a lot of time at home once they start construction and will be able to read a lot then.
oooooooooooops. so sorry all.
ty mkg
oh my so so sorry/ where is pb??????????????????
LOL love Garrison! Wish I were an "all the wimmin are strong" person!
*opens door for mkg*
that would be the c, mkg. LOL
great clue, mkg
*puts lovely meringues and choclits in PB*
how long do i have to stay here? 10 days or 10 months???????????
haha count to 10!
such an obvious clue...........oyoyoyo
right now trying to decide if I want to put up a request to replace my tenor recorder...
10 nanoseconds on a grid like this, mkg! *counts down* 3-2-1 -- done!
but a clue that not one single person would be stumped by mkg! haha
any other 8 letter clues? would love some. less obvious ones than i gave please.
Right now I am not in a huge hurry for "things" - not a lot of space to store them!
I don't have the other 8 yet
a recorder player???
i play alto and sopranino in a group
nice, penquis! I played in college about 30 years ago, and picked mine up occasionally to remember how good I used to be. One of these days, I kept telling myself, I'll play in a group again.
sorry i am tired from 4 hours in the garden on the first nice day since graduation. . . i think i will hit the hay with a book. . ..
finally reached 1/2
I liked playing my professor's alto recorder - and the crumhorns. Those were wicked fun to play!
85 left. . . *poof*
oh, what a great way to celebrate the sun! sweet dreams jmc ((hugs))
go smores go!
*sticks head back in* wtg smores *takes head back out*
I may do the same soon...exhausted
night jmc :)
lol...and shakes it all about
we are watching Alien -- I have never seen it before. I know how it ends, though. *grin*
i play in a group and we play at a nursing home one afternoon a week...not for a specific audience but in the waiting room...also play duets with someone every week...
good movie stid
nice pen :)
that is way cool, penquis!
going to an early music festival in Boston in January
sorry...June not January!
that will be exciting -- will you get to play with new friends?
June should be a great time to go, too.
no, but i get to paw through sheet music, try out instruments and go to concerts
go7?
Alien is not the go7 monster movie ..
ty
yw
ty tor :)
hi pen, Tor and kje.
(I was distracted for a bit)

Night kje :)
(sorry) I don't want another shock
ouch Nef..is it fixed now?
yes. He just left; that was my distraction
ah...glad to hear it :)
They're good to have

I am going to head to sleepy-bye land, too. sweet dreams all! *Poof*

Niters stid ..
niters stid
okay...29 left and falling asleep at my laptop
25 left..calling it quits...night everyone :)
niters smores
Did everyone leave while I was interrupted again? (I had to dish up DH's meds; I do it for the next 2 weeks at a time)
Not everyone ..
okay. I'm so frazzled that I think I'm going to turn in and I'm not even half way yet.
do you need any help with any words, tor?
(I have the 8's, and the 9 and 10 words too)
I also have 3 of the 4 7's but only 1 6 letter word. :-(
welki are you still here?
she went to bed, mrb. rough day.
Thanks Nef .. I'm good ..
a member of the serp community just passed
:(
oh, I'm sorry to hear that. Is it someone she knows?
I'm nearly positive
She's usually on here in the evenings; usually about 8:30 or so my time (CDT).
I seem to have the memory of a gnat right now; otherwise I'd tell her to check there tomorrow. And since tomorrow my grandson turns 4 years old; I'm not sure I'll be here then to see her.
i never feel any emotion, only when people die.. why is that? what is wrong with me
I take it you're a male? Are you 60+ years old? If so, that's probably the only time that that generation felt it was "okay" to care
im 21
its not that I'm socially constrained to not care, i genuinely don't feel anything about anything
except death
(BTW, I left a msg on welki's FB page telling her that you'd said someone just passed and that you probably know that person)
ok thank you. it's been a week already since, but tell her the username is azzzzz
okay
done.
sorry; I'd like to stay and chat; but I'm exhausted and my bed is calling me
bye
niters! And Happy Babbling!
hello
