lol, was raised in golfing family
I don't see the golfer either bit think I already have the word
i didn't see it as a golfer, I thought of a boy scout losing his badge, or a black mark in school.

sort of puglet. how are you, hun. i'm ducking in and out...playing weboggle
I'm here, pug.
Hey there, rose.
hey peach, nice to see you.
I doing good and how have you been Rose
Hi Peach
just a little stiff at times. review is tomorrow.
How are your hours at work now?
what is weboggle? and how are you doing after that fall Rose
Peach have you been in any of these storms
weboggle is a site where you can play boggle on-line, for free. it is a timed game...3 minutes to find as many words as you can.
We had some really strong wind a couple of nights ago, but so far, no hail or much rain.
peach, doing 9 hours of seated duties only. may change when i am reviewed tomorrow. still doing 3 days/week.
Just don't let them overwork you. Do thing on your time. Blessings dear friend.
I play boggle on pogo alot--Rose--------We are due to get some of those storms that has been out in OKl either today or tomorrow
thanxpeach, dear. and puglet, please stay safe, sweetie
I plan too Rose! I dont mind the thunderstorms but those tornados are another thing
Pug, I grew up in western KY and we just didn't have tornados back then.....it quite scary now. A few years ago, one took out quite a few blocks downtown.
the summer before one hit very close to us. My sister and I were in the outside shed huddled down and we could hear and feel the rumbling of that thing! We had pictures and stuff from the homes destroyed in our yard. It took out several homes our covered bridge near by not counting all the poles, lines and trees
Oh, my. That is so frightening. Glad you and your sister were not injured.
too close and scary, puglet. and now we are havong tornados here in ozland. we have had willy-willies, cyclones, typhoons, but never a lot of tornados. they are occurring with greater frequency.
Its frightening what mother nature can do! Everything you own can be gone in a second! I hope you all stay safe as well during these times
"these times" being the exact words to be used.
Rose I got my cabbage and kale flowering plants--so far they are doing great--I went to that site you gave me about them and if I understand it they grow ever year
lol, puglet...that is so good. would you believe it? just after you and i were discussing them, my ex-DIL gave me a bunch of flowers with one of them in it. i nearly died.
(((LOL)) did you plant it? How odd is that?
*giggle* no i didn't, but it has inspired me to have a go at growing them too
good! I think it must of been ment to be for you to have one--lal
now all i n eed is the time and some dryish weather in order to play in the garden.
does anyone have a clue for em7 please?
oh, and the time on the watering system is working really well, so i'm going to plant miniature roses in mother macs window-boxes. thought i might put some tulip bulbs in around the boxes also...would be a nice surprise for her, come spring.
Iam sure it will all come about sooner or later! Would you be able to do that if the weather was right anyway?
what a lovely idea rose
ohh that sounds really nice
Sorry, flosey, don't have it yet.
thanks anyway
flosey, think senior professors at a university. e + earn a reward + vowel
thanks rose
Thanks much, rose.
yes, puglet. i have an outdoor table i can work at. just need the time and weather to be right. i don't mind if it's cold, so long as it is dry.
still missing ti8, last word for me
oh dear, flosey, you are going to need a fish....ti(metal) + dinner *****
ah, got it, thanks rose, and that is FW
WTG FLOSEY!!!!
Congrats, flosey!!!!!!!!
12:40 must get to bed, see you at flip tomorrow
Sweet dreams, flosey.
and thanks all for chat and clues
NIGHT, DEAREST FRIEND. HOPE YOUR SLEEP IS SWEET AND RESTFUL
good night Flosey
oops....sorry....didn't mean to shout.
Rose are you getting aroung better now? How did it go at work on them taking resp. over your fall
I meant around--sorry
pugs, still a little stiff at times, but the swelling is going down, but the bruising is coming out now. it isn't quite so tender to touch.
and work has taken full responsibility for fall. especially after himself had a go at them. he was quite protective of me, and very indignant on my behalf. felt strange, after years of fending for myself.
thats really good Rose! It could of been so much worse. Hail to your knight in shining armor!!!lol
oh, yeah...i will hail him alright, lol. gotta love a man who wants to protect you. and the return-to-work co-ordinator came and saw me. made sure i was comfortable, had the correct seating, and support for my sore knee.
Rose, is the last part of ti8 like when a couple go out socially? Thanks
no, peach. you eat from this, it is big and round and usually quite flat
Thanks, hon, I think I should go to bed now and try to finish later.....still have 19 left.
Iam getting a bit tired so I think I will try to get in an hour or two of sleep(its almost 4am) Nice talking to you Rose and all others on here. Hope you all have a wonderful day/evening and May God grant you each a special Blessing---hugs
Sweet dreams, puglet.
Have a wonderful day, rose.
night to two very special people. sleep well, and awake refreshed.
and i also am outta here. to all who follow, happy babbling, enjoy the grid, it's not too bad.
good morning all
hey sprite.
{{sprite}} I wa lurking and found a quick 50
it is soooo cold here
hi onyx and ruby :) How lovely to see you.
cold and rain during the night
hi onyx
evening ruby
here as well again, ruby. We had 2 good days though. We are joking here that the summer of 2013 happened on 28 and 29 May.
we had 1 1/2 days!
Usually spring lasts more than 5 months
and statistically, a really bad spring is followed by an equally lousy summer. So alas, not much sun this year, probably.
I look like a ghost of springs past!
lol
can I lean on you for a second? I have to go to the city to buy gifts for Tim's birthday and I am so stressed. Lots of things to do, and I kinda panic.
hmmm, thinking what might help..... camomile tea (or xanax) before deprture?
deciding, in advance, what you might buy (2 or 3 choices)?
oh... god you are so smart :D And I so stupid. yes of course, I have PILLS for that kinda thing.
making a list of sequences of actiites?
yes, that will help too. I know which shop will probably have most of what I have in mind.
all I can say is thank God for Xanax (and Pfizer! lol)
*hugs ruby* Thanks hun. That helps. Yes, all three. That is the way to handle panic. I really needed someone to get me back on track. Taking oxazepam now.
you are talking to the latent anxiety queen
;) I am doing very well with that, or have lately, and I sort of forgot about the pills. Hardly take them anymore.
I don't think I could cope with Burt's ups and downs without
Hello, All :-)
and also when he awakens me at 5 and I need to go back to sleep for 2 or 3 hrs but am angry
no, I can imagine. That is very stressful.
hiya zooz! *hug*

So what type of gifts are you going to get, Sprite?
it's funny that I didn't see the word
no idea, zooz, lol!
and not too many, I hope.....
What do you think he needs..new shaver?
zooz, he is a boy of 17... I am thinking a gaming mouse with 5 buttons, a headset, a book.
lol @ shaver. He is shaving wet.
and he asked for the book! Which surprised me, but in a very good way.
Book? many teens round here do not know what a book is..lol
A gaming mouse with 5 buttons??? Never mind 17, Im 36 and that sounds damned good to me!!!
teehee
half and off to lunch. Good luck with your shopping, sprite
hi and bye dachef
{{zoozz}}
:D hiya Dachef, that gives me confidence!
Bye ,Ruby.
bye ruby, and thanks hun.
5 buttons....what in the world do you do with that?
you link buttons to certain actions in a game, ruby. You can game more efficient and score better that way.
I play lots of games on my xbox360..of which i am playing babble now..but i find those controllers with lots of buttons hard to get used to..lol
hahahah -- not for me, I think
me too. But those kids are amazing that way. They adapt so quickly.
I'm happy with babble and lexulous on my plain old machine and little squeaker
we never play lex anymore, ruby... we should start again.
ok, I'll start two games with you fter lunch
xx
great :D
*woof* and out
Does anyone here know if the 9 or 10 is a compound word?
don't know yet, have been trying all kinds of stuff as well.
I found one that is not valid and that I have put in our babble dictionary: to pay money for using a canvas.
Ok..will kep looking. Thanks, Sprite.
hahahahaha..love the Brattain word oh how great a word that one is.
brilliant, isn't it :D
There are many brattains around here too..lol

are kaplan repeat and kaplan miserable in israel related?
I liked Kapland and related to Hyman Kaplan which book I quote
down to 20, and FINALLY saw that middle e... such a fish
Yeah. But my literary hero's surname is the same as the dreaded in-laws. I am the H*Y*M*A*N version
If my m-i-l ever found her way to this board, I'd be screwed like a lightbulb.
Firetwirps!
who wouldn't be, if their MIL showed up unexpectedly? :)
ok, you are the good, batter, first rate!
anyone here experienced brisket cooker?
yay for Judi
Low and slow, kje.
yay judi!
What means, when two pipple are bumping into each other in the street, they say "A Big Department?"
IA big depotment!
we quote that one, too.
I am making a crockpot recipe for a crowd, recipe called for 5-7 lbs brisket, and mine is 6.3... just realized the crock pot is only 5 quart so not big enough, so will need to do part of it in oven... what temp do you suggest, needs to be done by 3 at lates... 300 too hot?
we prob share more literary background
Trogic, so tragic, moaned Olga. Miss Mitnick blushed. Enough already, Koplon!
Kaplan and Nora Ephron.
300 would be okay. 275 would be better.
gotta get to work and cut a manuscript in half--got 75 words this a.m. good score for me.
abraham Lincohen he frid the slaves
275 for? 4 hours, 5, 6?
Wrap it in foil and put in a roasting pan with a lid if you have it.
are in 5/10 and 6/18 related?
yep
yes, pablo
kaplan you are too captivating--I gotta get outa here
the other yep was for bzz
I got it.... my last 2! Thanks Kje!
yay pablo!
hi all. any clues for the 9 and 10?
Congrats Judi!
Congrats Pablo!
in9 - bury
I just looked up a recipe on the food channel and they said a 4 lb brisket would take 4 hours at 325
extends from the in5
to bury
ty got the in 9
325 seems high, doesn't it? I have looked at online recipes for the oven, but they are all over the place in temps... that is why I wondered if we had a master brisket cooker in the chog!
then plural
Gotsta get my work done! Have a great day everyone! {{hugs}} all around!
river i cook it even longer and it becomes so soft. must be covered up well and sealed with alum foil
ty got it.
it does seems high to me too
ty river.
the problem is, I broke the cardinal rule re not trying a new recipe for a party, so there is no room to experiment or screw up as I will have 10 hungry college kids here at 3p
then again, they are college kids... they may eat anything
what temp do you use mkg
325 is too high, kje. I would think an hour a lb at 300.
however, they are college kids living in San Francisco, so could be food snobs - lol
hi all
ty bzzz
Yes, college kids aren't going to be too critical.
Slice across the grain when done.
the recipe looks great, but they didn't specify crock pot size, so it wasn't until I stuck the stuff in it that I saw it was too full.. almost up to the top
I say kids are kids....when food is concerned they just stuff it in and hardly know the taste
aren't crock pots not supposed to be more than 2/3 full or something like that
I've always found that my crock pot is too hot even at low for a brisket.
well, these are grad students, mostly in mid to late 20s, so not teenagers
yes....you are going to have to do it in the oven. I say the sooner you get it in there the better.
ah.... see.... bzz talks like she knows how to do this. I knew there would be an expert in the chog
thanks all... bbiab
I cook brisket a lot (and have a great recipe, BTW) and you must cook it "low and slow." I cook mine at 300 for 20 min. a lb. If you cook it higher and faster it will be tough.
20 minutes a pound? That doesn't seem like long enough, mimi.
If you want it done a bit faster, 325 probably would be OK but cover it and add beer and lots of flavorings and onions are a great idea...lots.
Mimi, do you layer onions underneath the brisket?
if you put water in the pan and seal it, mimi, then you can do it at 350. but you are right that low and slow works.
onions are great with brisket. and you can also add potatos and carrots and celery and any other veges. oh so yummy.
I put carrots and onions in with my brisket, also throw in a bay leaf or 2
I never tried it with beer, will try that the next time I cook brisket...thanks for the beer, Mimi
Here is my brisket recipe: In roaster, garlic powder, salt and pepper brisket, sliced onions on top, cover with a jar Heinz chile sauce...brown uncovered for 20 minutes. Then, cover with 1-2 cans beer (the cheaper the beer, the better), cover and cook 20-30 minutes per pound depending on the heat of your oven. So yummy. The beer tenderizes the meat and cheaper beer is better due to the higher carb content.
good with beer. good with sweet stuff. good period.
my daughter in law puts:
my daughter in laws recipe:
I have crock pot recipes for brisket but do not currently have a crock pot so haven't tried them.
I have a friend who puts ginger ale on her brisket
one can of cranberry sauce jelled kind, one can water, one cup ketchup. makes it like sweet and sour. so delish! and add in tons of onions and even garlic. yummy.
You can serve a horseradish sauce with it, too. So much brisket...so little time!
I love leftovers for sandwiches and often use a horseradish mustard on it....delish.
I'm from the midwest. Got to be served with tomato based barbeque sauce.
I'm from Ohio, Bea...understand! Oh, and to answer your question, since brisket is a fairly "thin" cut, the lesser amount of time is good otherwise you risk drying it out. I've done it this way for years. If it was a regular roast, no, this would be far too short a time to cook.
YOu all are making me hungry - time to get back to work anyway - have a great day ladies
I also have an excellent steak marinade: teriyaki sauce, red wine vinegar, garlic and onion powders...plop 'em in there and marinate until the flesh surrenders!
Me, too, River! HAGD.
Many words today same as yesterday....getting very tired of these grids lately....sorry to complain.
man. dontcha hate it when you think of something as youre falling asleep and once you awaken in the morning, you can only remember that you thought of something, but not what that something was??
LOL, Eva!! I hate that! Also, have dreams I wish I could totally remember. Never seem to forget the ones I'd LIKE to forget, though!
just moved the whole thing to the oven, it has already been in the crockpot for 2 hours, smells good, will see how it is doing in about 4 hours in the oven (at 300)
its driving me nutso. hubby is home today, and i left him a note with something i needed him to do. as i fell asleep last night, i thought of something else to add to the note, but i couldnt for the life of me remember what it was this morning! and its driving me batty!
bzzz, would 275 be too low to get it done by 2 so that it could be torn up and then rest in its juices for an hour, or is that too low for the time left?
No, 250-275 is where I would cook it.
6 hours would do it?
Yes.
even though it is 6.3 lbs, it was cut into 3rds for the crock pot, so should cook somewhat closer to smaller cuts of meat
ty so much for your help, bzzz
I agree with Bea since you've already had it in the crock pot. Probably too late to add the beer, though, since the main purpose of the beer is to tenderize while raw. How many lbs. is the brisket?
btw, this is what I am making... barbacoa, so not a classic beer/onion brisket thing...
Not a problem.
http://www.thekitchn.com/recipe-for-a-\ncrowd-big-game-day-barbacoa-165301
it has lime juice and cider vinegar that tenderizes it, mimi... high acid like beer
Sorry, just saw how many lbs. I would just check it every so often to see how much the meat "gives."
Did you cook it in the crock pot at all first?
Hope it goes well, kje.
Time for me to bzz....pfft!
well, yes, but like I said, it was too full, so not sure how much coooking it actually did, would have taken a long time to get up to temp at that fullness
Bye, Bea!
the outside is pale brown now, but clearly still firm, no where near done
I could touch it with my fingers and it was hot but not too hot to touch, so... not that far along
howdy my babble friends: whats cookin?
I'll check it in about 4, and plan on about 6 more hours unless it is falling apart before then
I think, in that case, you'll only need it in the oven for a total of about 4, maybe 5, hours. I think 6 will be too long, especially if they are separate cuts. You can cut into one in a couple of hours to see how pink it is..if it's just pink and not bloody, it is done.
((crossy)) kye is making brisket for a college army!
mexican fiesta!
mmm, corned beef brisket... crossy olds out a loaf of light rye brean in anticipation.slice her real thin and pile it on please
I really think the 4 is more like it, kye. Cut one to make sure.
margaritas, cornonas, 2 salsas, creamy cilantro dip, guac, beans, rice, and barbacoa tacos, with pecan bars for dessert
ok, thanks mimi
I gave my brisket recipe earlier in chat, crossy....you'd LOVE it.
and a nice quality mustard with a real zip to it
Also gave my steak marinade...easy.
and a jar of jumbo kosher garlic pickles
Love my horseradish mustard, crossy!
we have a deli and they offer corned beef on light or dark rye and you can choose 4 oz,8 oz or a mamoth 12 oz of beautiful hot shaved corned beef with your choice of 15 types of mustard;))
if find 12 oz a bit much.you can hardly open you mouth wide enough to get the sammich in so i usually go for the 8 oz
I'm so sad I don't have a deli I like very close since I don't have a car. My grocery store does have their own brand of horseradish mustard, though, that is actually better than the higher priced Emeril's. Must make my own brisket, though.
here, brisket is so $$$ of late
I LOVE Reuben sandwiches but if you put too much meat on them, you lose the other flavors.
pay 12 dollars and it barely takes care of three people
yes, this brisket was more than I expected... used to be a cheap cut of meat
Remember when it used to be a cheap cut of meat? Also, pork tenderloin is too expensive now.
lol.my doctor tells me to steer clear of reubens
ti8?
I used to buy a whole beef tenderloin to use as a roast and even used cuts of it for country fried steak. Now you'd have to get a loan to buy a tenderloin!
Don't have it yet, kye.
Phantom: thrive.
ti8: a kind of me 5/12 + a dish
ah
tents
ty turq... was just about to clue it myself!
now, that one I had, lol
menter
oops; sorry
oops, sorry
& yw, kje
OK---I'm not getting it. Got the me5 part but what dish?
what you put dinner on, mimi
or dessert
or salad... 3 types
Duh for me! ty
that was 3 types, I meant
Since my heart attack, st5/10 always jumps out at me!
FW!
So may phantoms!
any clues before I vamoose?
Now which Kaplan am I?
Good for you, kje! Hope the brisket turns out good...please do let us know tomorrow.
Apparently, you're the Kaplan that looks like Anne Bancroft!
camoose?
((ruru))
morning kap, mimi
a camoose is a moose in camoflage
Well, she deserves to be called magnificent too.
I miss her, and I miss Nora Ephron.
Absolutely, Kap!
A moose in sheep's clothing?
*puts up mirrors for Kaplan in the Chat*
An d Shari Lewis.
Reminds me of the song Rock and Roll Heaven...what a band!

i'm trying to tough it out without a list
Gwen Verdon.
i'm too slow today

Bea Arthur---who now is nude in a painting after death? Now THAT's impressive!
But Mitzi Gaynor lives! And so does Phyllis Newman!

Bette Middler will give great performances and make crappy movies forever.
And so lives also one of the great broads in history......ME!!!
Was that a crack at me ruru?

I do need to get a life. Can I have yours?
you wouldn't want mine
we can trade, you can get my in-laws

OK, if no clues needed, I have work to do...
I still have jetlag.
thanks anyway kje
have a great day
where did you go kaplan .. europe?
So---no comment on me being a great broad? :(
Of course, how would you really know?!
missed that one mimi?
A few days in Venice, 3 crazy days in Rome and a week with my vindictive nasty in-laws in the unHoly Land.
Yah, we're all great broads here. Even ruru.
Outta here til later. Hugs all around.
Venice and Rome sound great
bye mimi.. have a good day
Rome wasn't built in a day. And can't be seen in 3 days.
Would rather watch deSica movies.
in-laws were where?
outside of Tel Aviv. They are nasty people.
ugh
I have a nasty MIL too
back later . Waiting for an M.D. to call for the past 3 hours.
ok.. nice to see you
One thing I don't want to be is a nasty mother in law.
well it sure takes a lot of effort to be one
I see why KJE listed at 12
For all you Calvin and Hobbes fans... http://tinyurl.com/oh7pxda
Hi ruru and everyone else who is here - back again for a bit...14 left and totally stuck but not listing

or south of there either
I've never been to Montana
have been to the states down the eastern seaboard but not beyond
I have been to many states but not all of them
I heard it was beautiful - horse country right?
someday I will travel more

I should probably get back to work now so will leave these last 14 (that are winning the hide and seek game) for later
make that 12....hehe.....poof
....honestly officer I was just trying to help it over the fence....
: D
Montana is lovely, ru - and if you take your passport along, you could sneak over the border into Alberta, also gorgeous!
But not so many sheep.
I'll just have a few days. I hope to see a lot though
anyone have the de 7.44?
never mind
Have a great trip, ru. I'm off now, hoping to take advantage of a break between rainstorms.
thanks
*hiding in Ru's suitcase for trip to Montana"
:D
So envious of your trip, ru! Will you be seeing Jilly?
Montana is magnificent.
I do still think your part of the country is the best place to live, though.
OOH! im happy to announce that i FINALLY just remembered what i had forgotten. :D
Hooray! Glad your sanity will be intact now!
as much as it ever was, anyway. hehe
I'm leaving again....bbl.

Hooray for little bits of slow functioning memory!
i tell ya, molly. it was driving me bonkers!
sadly, there is still a part of me thats saying "wait, was THAT the thing i was forgetting? or is there something else...?"
: O
i know. ive created a self-fulfilling downward spiral of never feeling confident that ive remembered what ive forgotten.
Well, you know what they say. You made it, you un-make it.
Ru, wish I could meet up with you, jilly and Jane. If you ever get a chance to come up this way give me a call.

hey there Molls
i will attribute my brain fart to it being hot outside and still way too cold in my office.
Pretty sweltery here too Peri. Thank God for air conditioning.
i kept trying to make yours happen, hurshy. i wasnt seeing the words that WERE there because i kept thinking of the ones that WERENT!
I am eating Trader Joes caramels covered in dark chocolate. I am in heaven!
*shame and remorse*
Mmm, caramel and dark chocolate.
Trader joes mediteranean hummus is really good too but not as good as the chocolate.
shame and remorse?
for the wrong clue and causing people to look for the wrong word
it was an honest mistake, hursh
name that proper noun! TV producer griffin
ned?
Merv
ding ding ding (peri)!
do I get a prize?
yes, your prize is three dings.
I think he was before your time, Eva
thanks hursh :)
but they still say at the end of like wheel of fortune or whatever stuff like that MERV GRIFFIN - i think
they probably do
I think his real name was Mervin :(
anyways if he's before anybody's time he's before my time too
mervin is here also.

ty didn't have that one
as i always say, if youre gonna post a word in the chog, try to make it one folks dont already have. ;)
<--Believes Eva uses all the words in the baby goat picture
i absolutely do, molly. :)
Especially snootle
why is ti 9...pt of the ti 8/45 not allowed?
i cant decide if i like "wiggly listeners" or "cutie tocks" better
Because you would have to use the E twice
are there 2 x ti 8 molly?
No you wouldn't molly
Ti8 is a noun .. The pt would be two words
enable seems to view it as a noun, not a verb or adjective...
okay, that makes sense to me, thanks guys!
Ignore me, must be heat stroke or something
:) we're all in the soup today molls, "don't sweat it" hehehe
Plus, my body temperature has whiplash. This time last week I was still wearing a sweater.

Hi from Morton-in-Marsh in the Cotswolds. Made it here. Trying to resist fall asleep way too early
Pip pip, cheerio and all that Brit stuff Bich.
hi bichon! hope you have a great time... (very jealous) will you try to keep us abreast of your adventures?
Thank you!
Not a problem. Have my laptop, an electric converter, a cell phone and wifi. What more could I want. I slept the entire 2 and 1/2 hours on the train up from London.
Tomorrow we walk 6.5 miles from Moreton to Stow in the Wold
it's about 8:30 p.m. there now isn't it? i saw you talking to some of the more local babb;lers about yourt itinerary... sounds brilliant!
7:30 and it will be light for a few more houses. We're way north of you Kate
7:33pm
ah, ty... and hi zooz :)
weather should be good for your walk.
hi zooz, we're practically neighbors
Helo, TK :-)
Yes..teehee
I wanted to go to Sezincote tomorrow, but it's only open in the afternoon and that would make it difficult for us to get to our next stop
were you going to attempt a babble meet up whilst therre?
Yes probably they are not on a summer timetable yet.
If zooz would like to hike with us
Very kind...but i have parents to look after :-)
I am there early morning & early evening to help them out.
You are a good soul, Zoom.
Cheers for you zooz
Love them to bits, Molly..they are rather fragile.
you are lucky to still have them, zooz
how old are they zooz?
I will never let them be put in a nuresing home.
in their eighties, TK
Yes you are right, Poodles.
You have true grit zooz
good for you zooz, glad you are able to be with them. don't you have a son with you as well?
Thanks, Bichon.but they are amazing love all the stories they say..even if i have heard them hundreds of times before..lol.
No, TK..all that side has gone..they left for another country & new life..hence my mental health issues i had..still that is the past now.
I am typing up my Dad's autobiography so it can be on the web for all time He passed a number of years ago
That is true reverence for the elders, Zoom. Something that, sadly, is lost in our society.
Great idea, Bichon..something for your family members can always tap into.

e + Boy Scouts earn me5 badges + vowel

It's the singular of academic professionals, I think
de 7 -8? -- a combo?
Yes
a clue please?
Let air out of a tire
ty molly
Oops, off to the PB I go
thanks, molly....i am done!...it refers to retired professors...
I've always wondered why professors are not just "retired" : D
professor em____....title
it is the plural actually....
And that
is why I don't attempt to clue with definitions
*!* ta da *!* - listed at 18 - 16 I should have found without the list!
kind of like defining babblets eh? i clue the way that works for me.as long as the people i am gluing for can get the word from my clue,i do not care if my clue is pinpoint accurate with references or not
cluing
it is all just a bit of fun after all
What I meant was that I obviously did not know the correct definition. Now I do, thanks to Pen.
any clues wanted before I leave?
yaa for cybernan!

No thanks Nan, have a good evening.

hi molls
hi all
Hi JMC
i like your icon molls. . . my boy was calvin and hobbs and then he was zits. . . life in the funny pages
That painting makes me teary. I miss having little boys around.
little boys are fun but i enjoy my grown man too
I enjoy my grown sons. I would just like to add some small people to the mix.
baby sit?
i used to get my neighbor's boys and show them science tricks. . .
you can be arrested for the nowadays jm :D
someone showed me "science" tricks at a young age too
are you confusing playing doctor?
something like defying the laws of gravity :D
i used vinegar and baking soda to shoot off a rocket. . .and dyed some celery. .
You can't play doctor anymore. Not covered by HMOs.
haha
lol
Could I get a clue for re5/18, please?
To give food again, past tense
officiated the game marc
re + give someone food
TY
i am having a nice evening listening to the cicadas and eating fried eggplant and drinking champagne. . .
but i can't figure out why a helicopter just flew over the mountain valley house i am in. . .
do they have a "garden"
Cicadas...little beasts...we will be wading around in their dead carcass shells in a month or two.
uh. . . no . . . my sister is not like that. . .
evening all!
what about fried cicadas?
when i packed up my law office to move it into my house i went through my hubby's file and found a file marked cicadas. . . he was around when the 17 year cicadas and the 5 or 10 or something cicadas both hit the same year. . .
anyway the file had a bunch of cicada shells in it! haha
Ugh, I am sure there are people who eat such things.
i hear they are tasty enough. . . i have never had them but the last time i told you some of things i had eaten you turned green. . .
...crunchy I bet....
Probably dipped in quinoa with a side of kale.
LOL
no more with a shot of tequila molls. . . or a beer
that's probably the only thing that taste good with Quinoa
very crunchy. . .
don't look at me. . .i don't eat quinoa. . .
i tried it and kasha both and decided it was a good reason to eat meat. . .
All you have to do is tell people that cicadas are a "super food" and they will gobble them right up.
i think i will stick to my fried eggplant tonight. . .
Good plan
. . .and champagne. . .
which one JM?
a good summer supper. . .
ahem. . . i meant sparking wine. . . .
*tries to hide the bottle from ru*
ah
*lemmee see*
andre extra dry. . . this is rural virginia what do you expect?
oh jezus
hey was lucky it wasn't pink. . .
you might reconsider those deep fried cicadas
<--Is not ashamed to say she drinks Korbel on occasion
i usually drink freixnet
it was my wedding champagne. . the local liquor store buys it mainly for me. . .
the grocery store where i bought the andre didn't even have any red wine! haha
I buy that too.
Freixnet, not Andre.
i like it beter than this. . . i am glad i got their extra dry because it is pretty sweet. . . i can't imagine what their sweet champagne tastes like. . .
oh dear i think ru is turning green again. . .
I'm not much of a wine drinker, so I don't need to be impressed by the expensive stuff.
<----Cheap date
what is considered to be a "good" champagne? hi all
what do you mean peri.. decent for the Money or GOOD?
The only good label I know is Moet & Chandon. I could be wrong about that.
both
There is a really nice Cava from Spain called Bohigas.. that is about $12 that is fantastic
Roederer in Mendocino (Calif) makes the best Calilfornia Sparkling wine
no cavas in rural virginia. . .
Really good champagne can cost $45 and up.. depending on your taste and the producer
Molly's Korbel is decent and is often priced really well
i usually bring out a proseccio but i have been here 4 days. . .
i hope to come out there where you can educate my palate ru. . .
my niece is getting married this summer. what is a really good champagne, Ru. I will try the roederer tho
to me its all in what you like
Is Krug still good stuff?
personally I do not like to dry.
Krug is the great stuff
Krug is the best
I like a little bit sweet
you'd like Moet et Chandon Peri..it is a little sweeter and fruitier
Costco carries it
Thank you. I will remember that when I get rich.
thanks ruru
it's not too bad.. maybe in the $20's
i hear you can get really good deals on wine at costco. . .
sounds good, thanks ruru
Krug is my fave .. I can't afford it any more though.. it's gotten really expensive
Peri, same niece who just graduated nursing school? She's having a good year.
yes. and she already has a job
molls if you ever come over to my house i will serve you Moet et Chandon
she is having a great year. wish I could say the same for me
I also love Coutier Brut.. it tastes like Krug for 1/10th the price
would you serve it to me if I showed up jmc?
We need some mojo, Peri.
yep
*Makes a note about Coutier Brut*
I made a note of it too
Coutier I could drink every day
jmc,, you did not answer me
My local grocery store has some pretty impressive wine.
sorry peri let me go back and look at your question
firewords! tx all cluers - pa6 was my last
haha absolutely peri!
whoo hoo dan2
Well done 2Bit. Pass go and collect your 200$
ok, one of these day I may show up, you never know, jmc
well give me a heads up so i can pick up the floor and throw the dirty dishes in the dishwasher. . .
I will
okay break time for me and maybe some homework. . .bbl

Peri, re: the fruit salad discussion from yesterday...try cantaloupe and kiwi.
Damn, more tornadoes in Oklahoma and Arkansas.
that would be good, mimi
Really good with poppyseed dressing.
that does not sound good, Molls
I have a friend flying to Arkansas for a wedding
not sure about the poppyseed dressing tho
It's great just plain.
don't take any drug tests after ingesting Poppyseed dressing
whipped cream or vanilla ice cream could be good on any fruit salad
good to know, ruru
<---Votes for whipped cream
I like to add Raspberry Liquer
I know someone who tested positive after eating a popyseed bagel. it was very upsetting
raspberry liquer, mmmm
me too.. but with a poppyseed muffin.. and didn't get the job
Ooo, I've had fruit salad with raspberry liqueur. It's really good.
<----fruit salad savant
well I need to buy some raspberry liqeur then
It's good on vanilla ice cream too, Peri.
oh yes, it would be
it would probably be good all by itself :)
I only have apricot brandy
I would probably eat quinoa if it had raspberry liqueur on it. : D
buy a french framboise liquer peri.. they're better
quinoa is not that bad, I like it
ty ruru, I will
quinoa is like sawdust
I wish my birthday was coming up, I know what I would ask for
...pretend it's your birthday :D
I could have an unbirthday
there ya go
Chambord liquer....yum.
that's the cranberry stuff. oh yeah.. I like that too
Good morning / good evening all :)
hi liz
No, it's raspberry, ruru.
((Liz))
think you should check on that mimi
It's raspberry, ruru...positive.
oh.. it's black raspberry liqueur
what's the cranberry one then?
sounds like Chambord
Sambuca?
sambuca... yum
fented
oops the kitty entered that one , she is on my keyboard
But can't find a name brand for the cranberry liquer...tried. They do tell you how to make it yourself, though! Sambuca is anise flavored.
Luxardo Sambuca is a brand name for liqueur.
But it's not cranberry, Molly.
In any case, the cantaloupe and kiwi is excellent all by itself. Now I'm outta here until tomorrow. Hugs all around.
Bye Mimi - enjoy your evening :)
You can probably get LOTS of Kiwi fruit there, Liz!
But it's your winter now, right?
Yes we can - most of the year - not always cheap though! Yummy :)
And yes, winter officially begins tomorrow!

*not sure how helpful pidgin latin is*
I had a raft of deaths this month Nef. Tomorrow we bury my mother and I will start the climb back up
stid, did i read that you are going for a job?>
yes stid. When is the interview?
clue for the ti 8, please?
clue for the ti 8, please?
Bugs, I don't know what happened. Are you OK?
interview this morning -- is it good or horrible that it ended up taking less than half the allotted time? (since we started later, I am hoping it means good things)
Hoping to hear good news stid :)
ti...metal + what you eat from.
Oh, Bugs! I am so sorry for your losses! Sending healing thoughts and prayers your way!
I will be good again peach, just a little stunned right now. I keep entering the same words and not entering the ones I can see because I think I did it already
I asked when they might know, and they think early next week.
keeping fingers crossed for you stid --
oooh, great clue peach!
ty gapeach, you can hit me with the fish now. lol
thanks doren and liz
Marjetta, did you get ti8 clue?
I am never sure if the interview is short but keep your fingers crossed stid. Ours are!
fw - - night all!
Yes I did, ty
YAY doren and sweet dreams!
YAY Dorens and sleep well
Congrats, Dorens!!!!!!
yw
brb
congrats Dorens :)
stid; did you feel good about the interview?
I actually did, nef -- only a couple of little things I might have asked or expanded on, and those were not substantial, I think.
I know that I have appreciated being at that school as a sub, and I said so -- it would be a good place, and a good placement for me.
That is a good sign then. Especially if you've subbed there before!
If you have been there as a sub and they had a short interview it sounds like they already know that you will fit. Now it just comes down to seniority.
how far away is it?
It's good that they know you and you know them. Do you know what the opposition was like?
from our real home about half an hour even on pretty dicey days. from the apartment about eight minutes.
sounds good either way stid. I sure hope the job is ours
I don't, I think the person before me (a younger woman) looked a little shell-shocked, and the person after me (middle-aged man) looked experienced. I think I am "in between"
fingers, toes, and everything else possible crossed for you!
< ----fingers crossed for Stid
I mean yours! I don't want a job again
LOL, Bugs! :-)
thanks DR and nef... LOL bugs! but you could come and play with the kids in my classes.... then they would be yours too ((hugs)) you would be welcome any time.
finito thanks to Morewords. I am off. Good night all.
gnight Bugs!
YAY bugs! (((hugs)))
good luck, stid!
Stid, you may be just what they are looking for then: SOmeone who's been there and that they can still shape to their liking
Congrats, Bugs!!!!!!!
WTG, Bugs (and everyone else who's finished!) YAY!!!!
I tried to be positive about the learning experiences I will have -- and I really am excited about some of the other opportunities for stretching myself as a professional. I think that was pretty clear. I also left them copies of the lesson plan and handouts... and showed them how I used my ipad to develop the presentation and the posted it to the web. I am not afraid of technology!
stuck at 28...
that sounds good, stid.
May I please have a clue for te5-12 the 1st? Thanks
sorry, peach, I am just starting the grid (I have all of 45 words so far)
Thanks anyway, Nef.
te + state that had a race last weekend
Want some clues, Nef? I have 5 left so I can help if you like.

Thanks so much, tor.

duh, thx guys
Thanks much, Nef.
yw, peach! :-)
My very last word is vi7......ruru said it was the first word he found at flip.....I can't imagine what it is.....help please.....thanks
peach that was a great clue! Vi 7 is someone who knows grapes and wine
(actually just the wine I guess)
did you get it yet?
I just looked at Google but haven't found it yet.
me either
I tried vinemen, but that wasn't it.
A person who makes or sells wines ..
it uses the dble consonents with another consonent in between them
that got it Nef- I was spelling it wrong
I cannot believe I'm this ignorant.
I'll google again.
fe7/8?
I wish I could clue it better; but I can't think of how to do that
aged grapes fe7 in bottles or kegs; then pl
vi7...first three of a plant shoot that climbs up walls + last four of par****s in crime
got it, thx nef
(I need to give up on cluing)
I got your clue just fine Nef
thanks for that one, Molly. I WAS TRYING TO FIND A WORD THAT THAT WOULD WORK IN
Your clues are fine Nef. : )
sorry about yelling; was startled by the phone ringing and had to answer
you hope they don't fe7 in bottle
doesn't champagne do it in bottles? (I am not at all knowledgeable about this)
hi babblers
Hi welki
well.. champagne sure does.. you're right there nef
Thanks much, y'all. I knew I would feel really stupid when I found it....I do. I'll see y'all at the flip. Thanks again for all the help.
bye peach!
I watch "How's it made" on the science channel a lot, ruru.
I guess I thought other wines did that too
"hi welki and DR. I'm not very alert tonight and guess I keep talking in the wrong box again)
reminds me of moonshine cake - a fad in the 80s, cake made with a fruit starter that you let ferment
yipes. *to the PB*
I put soom really good dark chocolates in there when I was there (on first coming here tonight)
:)
*bounce bounce bounce*
the dishwasher works!
Good news, jmc! Can you fix my thermostat now?
at your sister's?
*stops bouncing* no sorry. . .the guy came out and i said there is no water in the dishwasher and he said did you turn the water on. . .
turns out there was a cutoff valve under the sink!
yes at my sisters (where the helicopter buzzed earlier tonight)
you runnin' a grow op?
oh, well; at least it was an easy fix!
haha that is what ru thought too
check the battery on your thermostat nef. . .
children of the 60s
well 50s
nevermind - you know what i mean *lol*
turn off the a/c heat and take the thermostat off the wall and remove the back and change the batteries. . .
i paid $90 to learn that one. . .
flower child of the 60s ;-)
yes, that's it
My Dad used to leave a note about what to turn on and what to power off at their house. It helped a lot when we went to stay there.
you'd get a chuckle at my h.s. pics - raising my fist in solidarity with the women's liberation club
the kitchen was just remodeled. . .neither my sister nor I knew about the cut off valve. . .
no damage to the dishwasher?
no, just needed water
dishes all washed now
and best of all, no beeping
yes . . .that made for a difficult night. . .
now my biggest problem is the heat. . .
you're staying at your sister's because it's near where your class is? how long will you be there?
yes. . . i leave tomorrow after class and then come back sunday night for two more nights. . .class is over on tuesday and then i have 2 papers due
it is only 45 minutes away. . .down the mountain through the mountain pass (different mountains) and then down the highway
sorry, DH wanted me to come out and enjoy his new fire pit. He got it started; and it started raining again.
very rural, jm? (and nef - bring out the umbrellas!)
15 minutes to get the 5 miles through the mountains and 30 minutes to get the 40 miles down the highway
oh too bad nef. . . so disappointing when you want to show off something new. . .
yes very rural. . .
jmc; I did change the batteries on the thermostat; that's when the problem started. We can heat the house, but it says "NO AIR" when I try to turn on the A/C. (at least it hasn't been warm enough to use it yet)
i am surrounded by bunny rabbits and deer. . .
ohhhhh - can you hear the spring peepers?
saw the youngest fawn ever yesterday. . . i have seen bigger cats. . .
no the cicada are drowning them out welki
dear me nef. . . did you try switching them? maybe in backwards? or make sure you have very new batteries. . .
it sounds beautiful, jmc.
i miss the sound of spring peepers, the crazy yellow forsythias, that earthy smell after a rain and, most of all, i miss the sea
is there a separate switch somewhere for the air?
it's been raining here for a few days - all it is is wet.
no sea here! but i am trying to root some new forsythia from where teh construction guys killed them
no. jmc. I'm going to call someone on Monday to check what's wrong. I've never had a problem before; the whole HVAC system was new in 2007
i once paid $100 for a worker to flip a switch on the stairs that i had no idea connected to anything. . .
oh! and pussy willows!
I have peep frogs in the creek out back. They are my favorite sound of Spring.
this has been such a nasty year here my lilacs just bloomed along with the lilts of the valley (a month late!) and the forsythia never bloomed at all
this actually has been an amazing year for roses! they all look like they are on steroids. . . police have been running drug tests on them. . .
just yelled out to the expert - he says there may be an air flow sensor that's telling you the air filter on the furnace is plugged
oh how sad nef...but i always bring a few stems of forsythia in to force in feb. . .
i should find a recording of them :)
ah i think he may be right. . .i remember reading about that. . . i have no a/c so harder for me to guess
I just changed that too, welki. (I'm the one who takes care of those things and write down dates when I do it too)
found one :)
i got my mother a 30 minute recording of a mockingbird that never repeated itself. . .she loved listening to that
maybe you changed the filter, but there's residue on the sensor
where would the sensor be?
or could be the sensor's shot
hmmm. I need to find where that sensor is then... Thanks for the idea, welki
hang on, let me give him a shout, he just went upstairs
babblers are a helpful lot!
they are indeed, jmc!
well the bottle of champagne is starting to kick in so i think i will take a little nap . . .
you could search for a manual on line nef. . .i often find schematics and suggestions online for things. . .
okay, jmc.
he says they rarely fail - says it's a small box with two copper tubes - one goes in front of the air filter, one behind
when did you change the filter?
anyway i am off to sleep. . . good luck on the a/c nef
I tried calling the help line; but I need the model number and so far I can't find that on the thermostat
bye all
g'night my friend
try putting into google the brand and what you know and ask where is my model number. . .
May 3rd, welki (my b'day)
*poof*
niters, jmc
they couldn't tell you where the model number is? some help!
Nef, you party animal, you. : D
hey, if I would have gotten to a person, it would have helped. Honeywell's "help line" is all automated and you have to know the model # to getfurther directions
hmmm hang on i think mine is a honeywell
Mine isn't a Honeywell, but the model number is on the inside of the part that flips open.
Aren't I, Molly? I do know how to have fun..... I sent DH away for the evening and changed the furnace filter. :-)
yep - my model number is on a sticker - have to pull it off the wall to see it
(it's on the unit itself, not on the wall mount)
Well, my sticker must have fallen off sometime. I took it off the wall to find the model number and still couldn't find it.
hang on, let me see if i have the manual
I have 2 manuals (one for our old one, one for this one. I can't tell which is which
the old one died; so I can't put it back up (this one is from 2008 or so)
about the same as mine - mine is TH8000 hang on
is this this one? http://tinyurl.com/yldfu4t
The TH8000's always were a bit twitchy ..
fyi - limited 5 year warranty! lol
hi torg
nope. Mine has just the time and temp showing in a small wind and off to the right is an up arrow, a down aarrow and a ? button
I could adjust the temp up to 5 times per day.
was worth a shot. sorry, nef. anyway, off for the evening - g'night everyone
5 year warranty? Well, that's about how old mine is..
thanks so much for the help. welki. At least I know I should try and find some sensors now
not much you can do with them, nef - best leave the innards to the professionals
Nef, do an image search of Honeywell thermostats and see if you can match it up to a model number.
LOL, welki! I promise not to mess it up worse!
Who knows? The way the weather is going, we may not need A/C this year!
Good idea, Molly!
So far I've found 2 that look like mine; different modle numbers; so will have to study them a bit more.
Sorry Nef, I'm not very good with this kind of thing. The only thing I can think of is that your unit may have no freon in it, which might prompt a NO AIR message. In that case, you need to call the expensive guy.
Molly, you are a wizard. I'm pretty sure it's the thermostat; and I finally have a model number (Honeywell CT3500). I'm so used to looking things up in books or use help lines I never thought of looking for the image of the thermostat
(You need the model number to get help anywhere; even on line)
Well I'm glad that helped. Google searches can be helpful sometimes. Good luck with it.
there is a little side note about this thermostat that the flashing filter warning can be reset; and the directions aren't in the instruction manual!
I'm excited now; I have 11 more words till I get to 100; then I'm going to go see if I can fix the thermostat!
yahoo!
hi T O

ty
that does it for me. happy babbling all
Hello to my fellow babblers! How is everybody doing today?
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! Way to go!
YAY, T O!! WTG!!
Hi Min.
Hello Nef! How are you doing?I Haven't seen you in awhile.
The past few weeks have been kind of crazy here. And I never Babble when my grandson is here. I'm fine; how are you doing?
That's good! Family should ALWAYS before Babble, except in my case. I have a bad habit of doing the reverse often.
*ALWAYS COME before Babble
LOL! You caught me doing that (I was saying good night to DH) just now --putting family before Babble.
But you don't do the reverse often; I think that Babble can be an escape when we're stressed by family too
Well, I just got here. Took awhile for me to escape tonight
rough day or night?
I was watching a friend's dog so was playing with the dogs.
Then when my friend picked up the dog, I hung out w/her.
So in this case, I put dogs & my friends first, before Babble
Good for you, Min! :-)
I just read your profile. That would be fun; but I doubt if I could make it.
Probably won't get any babblers from the Mid-west or East Coast, however, I wanted to put it out there for everyone.
(Although, August would "possibly" work if I think about it...
Well you can let me know. Nobody has sent me any e-mails
when did you post that?
What part of AUgust would it be?
Actually, I posted it at the beginning of the week, but then I have not been here much this week or I have gotten here la 4/4 and the chat log was quiet. I am in no rush to plan.
Can be anytime in August. That's why I want people's input
all these small grids (or at least the ones I've seen have been small this week) really cuts down on the chat and community
rururocks said that he would be in VT in August so if I do it in August, I would like to plan it around that time, if I can.
do you know when that would be?
He said he would be in Vermont August 18th,19th and 20th
Hmmm. That might work for me....
I have a wedding in mid Sept. in the middle of MT that I plan to go to also. Which part of VT? North or south?
He said that he was going to a wedding. I think wedding is on Tues, August 20th so the babble meet up would be Sun or Saturday and Sunday if we want to make it 2-day event.
you are really planning a party, aren't you? :-)
what about your hubby?
Not sure where his wedding is, but meet-up would be more northern Vermont I think. I am terrible with geography, but my parents live near Dartmouth College in New Hampshire
Well, I figured if people are traveling far, whether it be by car or plane, I should make it worthwhile for them. I don't plan on inviting husband, but who knows! He might insist.
I had to look up Dartmouth. It's in Hanover, NH; right? That's in southern NH (or close to the middle )
Yes, I think it is in Southern N.H. Once again, terrible with geography!Maybe my parents live in central VT,who knows
i stayed at a private campground in dartmouth, very beautiful area
LOL! How far is it for you to drive there?
For me to drive there from New York is about 4 1/2 hours.
Hello cosdem! How are you doing today? Welcome to chog.
it took us 4 hours from rutland vt to hanover
maybe 3.... cant remember it was in 2003
Maybe a little less,if I drive REALLY fast,which I usually do.
i know it was a 4 hour drive from burl to manchester...
I grew up in Vermont, but I have NEVER been to Rutland,VT
hi cos. I wonder if it would be possible (since you want to do a bang up Babble meet up) for people to rent some dorm rooms on campus for this? (Some colleges do have plans like that
There are a lot of places in Vermont that I have never seen
they do? I know Gallaudet in DC doesn't but they have a special building set aside for that kind of thing hmm
Hanover, New Hampshire is 25 minutes away from parents house. There are plenty of hotels in New Hampshire as well
a friend of mine has done a lot of traveling and has stayed at a lot of senior hostels on campuses during the summers through the years. I wonder if they still do that?
I's Incubated! 9 left
It is almost 12:00. Do I stop now or beg for clues for last 9?
M's Mugged! 6 left
N's Nabbed! 6 left
P's Pummeled! 5 left
Clues at the ready ..
Hello torgone! How are you doing today? Welcome to grid.
Heya Min
T's Tumbled! 3 left
Now it's AFTER midnight. I really need to get to bed pronto
I own what is known as a "camp" in Vermont, but I'm not sure when I will be there this summer. Early august. It's near Burlington.
I was just in Burlington over Memorial Day weekend. What camp do you own RoundBarn? Oh and hi there RoundBarn!
I am finished! I have fireworks! My final word was de 6/24.
Wish I could stay to clue, but it is WAAAAY past my bedtime
Goodnight to my fellow babblers! I will see you tomorrow.
Nitres Min ..
Sorry, Min. I let the dog out and found that DH's new fire pit was smoking like crazy even though it had rained. I had to go put out the fire, then tell DH that he shouldn't have left the fire untended and then get clothes out of the dryer.
geed night, Min.
RoundBarn, what is a camp?
A camp is a cottage--I own a neat little camp on a lake near Burlington--I haven't been able to use it much since I lost my daughter. If you are near Vermont you are free to stay there.
why is it called a camp? (I'm just always so curious about different terms for things
And when are you coming to the Cities RoundBarn?
It's a nice community and good swimming, canoeing--near the green mountains to climb. Pretty ideal. Last summer Megan and her 3 boys were there with me, but this year I don't know. I'm thinking end of July, early August--I need to check on things. Had a new roof last year.
It sounds beautiful, RB.
When is your convention here in MPLS again?
that confewrence starts on the 24th I think--I'llk know better by tomorrow I think. Or else we're driving up the 24th June, and the conference begins the 25th. We'll take down our booth that Friday 4-6. I've sent comp copies of Vol 1 to 40 Wis ag ed teachers--hope there'll be some good return. Did I send you a comp copy?
No; I want to pay for it, RB (authors have to sell books to make money!)
well, it's discounted to friends!
okay, I'll buy it on discount then. :-)
June 24-28th. It's now marked on my calendar.
I don't know why New Englanders call a cottage a camp. I'll try to find out.
Oh, that's okay. Like I said, I'm just always curious about things like that. I'll probably look it up myself.
I'm reading the owners' manual for my thermostat for my furnace and A/C. I have heat, but no A/C (not that I've needed it so far). I was going to try to fix it myself; but it seems that I'll still have to call in a repairman since it doesn't address the problem I'm having. (sorry I'm not very talkative tonight, just thought I'd explain why).
It also turns out that this model I have is from the 2003-2004 year; I bought it in 2008. :-(
that's okay. I need to get to bed before the flip so I won't be tempted. Got back from Madison Tues and our worst was realized (for Volume 3, the final one) It's already too long and there are parts missing. Jeremy and I are thinking we can add stuff on the net--he's already got yhe two volumes up electronically. (I am poor at reading manuals.) So, good night. I will be glad to meet you. Also, I need an address to send the book--my email is jjack1@uis.edu
okay; I'm ready for bed too. I'll send my addy and info before I go to bed though. Good Night RoundBarn!
it is raining again heavily here, we've had tornado watch so only a few came to writers group tonight. I better check the asement. So goodnight again.
