bore da, glantarell -- up a little early?
hi stid
hey all
it's nearly 7, been up for about an hour, on second cup of coffee
I am tired, not here for long.
bore da
same here stid
ah, :-) I had some hot cocoa, but it will just barely touch the massive antihistamine dose I just took -- so many allergens at the concert tonight I almost couldn't stay!
((stid))
well, you'll get a good night's sleep -- hope the concert was worth it
((tor)) how goes it? I am FINALLY getting some calluses back on my fingertips! I hate this stage though -- when the calluses are starting to form it's even more painful temporarily. So I play lots of old folksongs that have extra chord changes and just strum away until I can't do any more.
It was, jill. It was really nice.
fireworks
now I can pack for my trip
congrats rurur
going anywhere nice?
YAY ruru! I thought you packed yesterday?
yes .. Montana
Play till it hurts, and then play the pain ..
Congrats, ruru!!!!!!
hi ru -- wassup in Montana?
just a vacation jilli
my first in years and years
that's nice!
how long will you be away?
Moving to Montana soon ..
oh, I've always wanted to visit Montana, beautiful scenery form the pictures I've seen
you are?
that's what I do, tor -- and as I play I start remembering the progressions. The memory is in my fingers, not my brain. So the more I play, the easier my fingers move, and they remember to hammer on or off; and they find the right fret (more reliably) without me looking, and even the picking gets easier so I can do more intricate accompaniment.
Gonna be a dental floss tycoon ..
Glantarell, there are lovely parts to Montana. Even the boring parts are lovely in moderation.
are you really moving, Tor?
Just some obscure song lyrics ..
Still not moving to Montana ..
oh! LOL *relieved mama look* because I am hoping this job I interviewed for will pan out, and if it does I think I want to see Legoland and SeaWorld... and would want a local guide. If they're local enough? All those years visiting SoCal and I never made it past the desert bloom just north of San Diego.
SeaWorld is kind of overrated .. Legoland may be a better choice ..
I spent my honeymoon in SD, loved Coronado Island, and the trams and the old town
It would probably be in December, though -- if I get the job I will end up using most of the rest of summer working on next year's materials.
Though I haven't been to either ..
see, there's knowledge I didn't have! :-D I love having friends "from" different places who can help me navigate when I go out and about.
oh Jill -- are you still here?
*grin* "fish" is in the grid but doesn't count g-h-o-t-i
Guess jill is grid-blind if she is here. I am feeling the effects of the diphenhydramine. Back again tomorrow. Taking the day off and hoping to get several days' work in the next two weeks.
I'm still here -- and yes, was grid-blind for a bit
Nitres ((stid))
Have a lovely evening all -- except Glantarell, who I hope will have a da bert! :-)
I tried ghoti too
au revoir! *poof*
mae'n heulog heddiw - da bery iawn!

hello (and bye) andrew - welcome back
was talking with jessie (dr god) last year and it seems subscriptions have fallen off so badly,he has relegated babble to legacy software status, meaning no changes or additions to the programme will be made.gave him a standing off now that my internet and servers are ready for it to continue running babble if he ever decides he wishes to move on with other projects
offer
well, not old per se,but old as in the same names and faces that go with us fantastically young people who play babble day in and day out
<---- is backpeddling..
there is so much on the internet i am not surprised, my morning rituals no longer include babble as i am playing so many on words with friends so by the time i finish my morning coffee play my games check my emails i am ready to start my day so babble has very much gone by the wayside
i also play wwf,so keep an eye out for me
i usually have near my full allotment of 20 games going
but i think i have 3 spaces this month
my name on wwf is patneve if you want a game
and mine of course is crosshair
not on Facebook though
yes,my name on fb is crosshair smith
i am not a Facebook fan, i see the effect it has especially on my grandchildren and i do not like it
fb does have it's issues
to be honest,if it were not for another game i play on it,i would of deleted it long ago
well bedtime for me , nice to see you again crossy

((((((LBD))))) good morning and congratulations on finishing
(((((Annie)))) good morning
Stats for the lower t?
Mom, I thought of you yesterday when I read an article about extreme ironing. Yes, there is such a thing. : D
ti 4/4
good morning Molly. :-) no extreme ironing here. I know of a lady that ironed underwear, towels, shoelaces
<----- and it's not me
ti4.4
Thanks, Annie.
youre welcome
ironed sh4laces! get help for that woman! lol
off for a bit, gotta get ready for work. :( ttfn
she was wanting to please her husband
have a great day, LBD
I must be off for a while, see you all later
(((Annie))) have a great day.
quides
oh crap, I am sorry
Extreme ironing is a "sport" where guys take an iron and ironing board to odd, dangerous places. A mountaintop, in a canoe, in a forest, while skiing, etc. Kind of weird.
that is ridiculous
ironing? what is this ironing of which you speak?
I have never heard of a battery powered iron
(((TO))) good morning
I haven't either Mom. And it gets weirder. Some accounts say it has been done under water. : O
hot diggity do7, the hoity toity will be upset with this grid that does not recognize them as acceptable.. Happy Friday all
morning, ((mom)) and all
that defeats the purpose of ironing
Happy Friday, Aloy
hi Mom.. I confess to having taught my kids how to "iron" using the clothes dryer
:-) not a thing wrong with that, Aloy
(-: glad you agree, Mom
not many people iron any more
well, my son prefers cotton pants and so he irons
i would hazard a guess that this activity is more about the crazy places you can perform it than about the success of achieving a wrinkle-free garment. ;)
i think haz likes to irn. finds it soothing
my sweetie's work shirts ..... wow, they are 100% cotton and when you wash them they come out like a big ball.
He says he is the only one whose shirts don't look like they were slept in
I think you are correct, TO
good morning EvaN
right.. if you don't have a blend, cotton just comes out like that
mornin mom!
*sigh* i ish i ould see more than one word from the bottom h
and the entire company, which is worldwide have to wear these
I only have one of those also, TO
hi evaN
hiya TO!
I only have one as well, another word for pig
i have 3 variations of the same word that begin with that pig.
i have the condiion opp of cold
from the top, i he the philadelphia sub
I need to scoot. I wish you all a great day. I hope it is cool and comfortable for everyone. (((Hugs))) see you tomorrow
i canot find ONE pi related word. sheesh.
bye, Mom, have a wonderful day!
bye bye, mom. see you later.
bye bye Aloy
ho6 and ho7 - pig + shoe lace and plural
((TO)) bye bye
And pt
dont forget the PT as well, bea. :)
thanks bzzz.
oh, ty TO, just saw your clue for
ho7.32, sorry
sorry aloy, it was not asked for.
... and ty to Bea too! yay for those two
bet everyone got the sandwiches!
you gave it TO, the opp of cold
so now bottom H is greyed (dark blue on my screen, but everyone says "greyed")
.. and Eva clued the last one (pt) .. so ty all, time for a refill
neither hoity nor toity are words...
good morning, friends
How was your brisket, kje?
we need to add a hyphen tile to the grid
Morning, hurshy.
gm, kje and hursh.
oh i just tried hoity, also, kje!
Could I get a clue for ho6/24, please?
oh, bzzz... it was perfect! thanks for the help... I cooked it at 275 for 4 hours and it was fall apart tender, perfect for shredding for tacos
hossed
lol, that's not it marc. sorry.
yay, kje! very brave to break the rule
Good.
you saved the day!
tomboy - ho6/24
well.. rules are made to be broken, TO ; )
ho6/24 - ho + vowel + animal home
this grid puts me in mind of a song... heidy heidy heidy hi... hoedy hoedy hoedy ho... heedy heedy heedy hee...
you are one confident cook, but yo ushould be
ho + use your driver's license to confirm your ****tity
i have only had something go wrong once or twice with baking and those unexplainable.
Thanks got it
I think most people who cook a lot can look at a recipe and know pretty accurately if it is going to be decent... there are always surprises, but this looked like a good one, so only minimal risk
but i am more inclined to not make a new recipe so i can have time to adjust it to taste. i look forward to trying that brisket.
Hursh is singing Minnie The Moocher
i am! can you believe heidy hoedy and heedy are ALL in the grid!
sy8, please?
It makes me want to watch The Blues Brothers. : D
natch
my husband loves that movie
how did you decide on how long to cook, kje?
Cab Calloway. They don't make them like him anymore.
it has a slight kick as written, TO, but I may add a couple extra chipotle next time... or maybe the whole can!
I wonder if you can buy adobo sauce sans chipotles.... maybe I should find a recipe for it
of course, being me, i change every song to be about my cats, so usually i sing, "marty marty marty mart... smarty smarty smarty smart...."
it really bugs my husband when i do this with his favorite songs. like "a mart full of love" and "martin of the house" from les mis...
Hursh, I think you are related to my Mother somehow. That sounds exactly like something she would have done with song lyrics.
i think it's a sickness.
i can't not do it!
TO - the recipe was a crock pot recipe, so had cooking times, but didn't specify crock pot size. Mine is 5 quarts, so was full to the brim when I stuck 6.5 lbs of briskit in it, so I was worried about cooking properly so converted to oven braising after about 2 hours in the crockpot. Bzzz helped me with the low and slow since online recipes ranged from 250-400 degrees and many hours difference. I think the 275 was perfect, and I started checking at 3 hours after moving from pot to oven
so what told you it was done? and ty to bzz also
it was tender... you can stick a fork in it very easily
ty. i;ll bet it was a big hit.
I ended up shredding it with my hands... that is how tender it was. Some might want it firmer so it slices easily, but I was making barbacoa for tacos, so this was perfect
name that proper noun! peter pan girl
What else did you serve, kje?
wedny
wendy
ding ding ding!
the students ate it up... and drank lots of margaritas. Thankfully, being SF, most had taken the bus over or ridden their bikes (appr 3 miles from the univeristy), so no worries about driking and driving
sy8, please?
anyone know if there are any dw words?
at least two
Yes, three.
three dw words
Bzzz - served it with warm corn tortillas and taco fixings (cilantro, onion, lime, queso fresco), fresh red tomato salso, cooked tomatillo salsa, cilantro-lime rice, beans, and pecan bars for dessert
pardon, me at least three
thank you!
and chips and guac also
Sounds yummy. I'm sure they loved it.
you made all of it??? wow
bbl, splinter in gdaughter's foot..
kje, I'm drooling! poof
thanks for your help... if I hadn't been pressed for time and serving for guests, I would have just experimented with times and temps, but since it had to be correct, I really appreciate you being here to help!
my co-facilitator made the beans, guac, and brought ice and chips. but yes, otherwise I made teh rest fresh... only way to go
you are an inspiration.
nah... just crazy
I made an avocado salad the other night that would have been good with that.
i can only cook for parties and for my noon broadcast companions. has to be finger food
I love avocados! I bet it would be great with it. Let me know if you want the link to the barbacoa recipe, Bzzz... it turned out well
sometimes finger foods can take much more time than just making a meal... lots of small prep work
ok, time to get laundry in so i am free to roam, hagd all
later, TO
kje, you can send the link to me at bzznbea@nc.rr.com.
i usually bake for them, they like that since it is from 9-1 and we have tasks so rab and go
tomorrow - crawfish festival and real jambalaya
why are you all ignoring marc who is so plaintive abt sy?
fe7, please?
because we don't have it
not ignoring, in the middle of a convo
Mark, the sy8 is begins with what you do with a letter and ends with plurals
Thanks I got the sy many plurals
AND don't have it
just sent, Bzzz
fe7: the state of not having many
when there was hayseed on the grid and people couldn't get it I wanted to sing oh I'm a hayseed song, but by that time everyone had left--
fe7 - a handful + loch monster
Thanks, kje.
ty for the sy8
Please I didn't feel ignored. I was enjoying the conversation and liked the recipe.

Round, sounds like there're Mexican goodies in the PB today. Enjoy.
no hotty, kje -- and no hot diggity, either
ah, diggity would have been great! hadn't seen it yet
you know how sometimes we get the word "inly" and one wonders, what the heck? sunday in church we sang this random hymn and it used the word inly!
funny, hursh
my dentist uses that word .... only I don't think it means the same thing

hoity toity was a fun find... so was hot diggity!
ho4/9 ho6/27 ho7/44 ho7/40 I am missing one
and when with the dictionary people accept hotty. that has been a word for at least 50 years. lol
river do they came from the same H?
all from the bottom H
HO4/9 - pig. HO6-7-7 combo starts off with the pig. HO7/32 - warmth.
ty eva!
thanks eva for the last one - that was my missing one
ty eva!
now bottom row is grayed
Les oinques!

Fireworks!
We are chilling out after a delightful 6.5 mile walk through the lovely Cotswold countryside. The folks here are uber friendly, especially when we show an interest in their dogs
that sounds so nice:))
the mrs and i love our walkies:)
K-9 is the universal language.:-)
We resisted high tea and just had salad and sandwiches for lunch
Crossy, do you have suggestions for other word games? I see that you play a few.
Congratulations Judi
i like words with friends.i have not explored all the scrabble alternatives but lexulous is not too bad
Bichon...I couldn't have resisted high tea! Sounds like you've having a great time.
We will have it, but it was too close to dinner time
Glad you are enjoying your trip and having good weather Bichon
i avoid timed word games.my life is a panic most times.do not need it in a word game lol
so,mostly is is babble and words with friends of late
that and my gardens of time
I got a word game from Puglet called chihuahua. It's a no pressure daily game
I usually don't like timed ones either but I really like Wordary and own it. It is unique and fun and there are 4 ways to play it and several times to choose. Also love Word Slinger....can play it free from Gamehouse.
i have not explored many other as yet
Now that it's ridiculously hot here for the next few months, I'll be staying in most of the time so need entertainment. Going to be 108 here tomorrow and no rain for months...hoping for some monsoon in July.
the ew 4/8, we saw many of them today
ag5 please
wordsplay is fun too - but it is a timed game - you can choose either a 4 x 4 or a 5 x 5 grid and have 3 minutes to find as many words as you can
Thanks, Chrissie.
wordsplay.net - its free too
yw:)
Thanks, River. Lots of great suggestions today to keep me busy and out of trouble!
So wordsplay is similar to Boggle....I play Boggle Bash on Pogo often as well.
I never played that one so dont really know
So I'm thinking tomorrow we're going to get a monster grid here....here's hoping. Tired of these little ones. I never get them all either but at least with the big ones there's more to do and I feel as if I've accomplished something!
i like the in the 150-250 range, that way it does not devolve into a typing competition with every possible word ending known to man:))
and usually anything under 100 is nothing but babblets with big teeth:))
I'm just too word-greedy, I guess! The real reason for being here isn't the game anyway...it's all you guys!
I think babble would take some beating, good though other sites may be
Yes, Chrissie, I agree....mostly because of the community of people here....so special.
this is my favorite word game
I totally agree Mimi
Hi All
Where else can you play a great game, make friends with great people, get recipes, share stories and jokes and get tips for everything from cooking to gardening and then some?!!!
((hego))
((Mimi))
And if I can't sleep at night there's usually someone here from another part of the world to talk to....love that.
good idea Mimi
Yep, great for insomniacs!
I think it's cool how people here are so supportive and protective of each other.
hello all - a couple of weeks ago within 20mins three players announced getting some breakfast - another was about to have lunch and I was off to eat supper - so breakfast/lunch and supper all in 20min :) gotta love it
lol. Hi Ursh.
Yes, that's so great, ursh. I would LOVE to visit your part of the world one day!
hi mimi - always welcome
I've worked with so many exotic animals in zoos and wildlife parks...would love to see them totally free.
lower left corner has me stumped.
pigs and mens neck wear
or rather pig
This entire grid has me frustrated, hego. The past few days have all been that way for me. I hate when something makes me feel stupid.
so hoity and toity are not allowed. lol
ty ursh. had the neckwear.
oh im glad it wasn't just me who tried those hgo..lol
Great clue, ursh!
lol rolin.
Phantom: goddess.
It's the g's that are making me feel dull.
aha! got the bottom one.
Enough frustration for now...going to get breakfast. Bye and hugs all around...bbl.
bye Mimi.

Hint: Think two vowels in the middle (for the G words)

go right ahead
Hi guys any clues for the middle de 5,16 please
I was tooling around on my john deere last weekend, and ran over an old clothesline. Have disentangled same, but mower still won't even turn over. Does the Deere have some sort of setting whereby if the blades get tangled up it drains the battery or something? its very strange....
caps, de5 is a god
you will have to turn the mower in its side(after removing fuel, undo the retaining bolts for the blade(s) i will be you a tim hortons coffee, there is more clothes line on the back side of the blades wrapped up tight
hi trif and crossy and caps.now back to lurking
but no,no battery drainage like that that i know of
Thanks lil
yw caps
ok crossy, thanks love. Will have primo help me this weekend. You are a star!
drainage can be cause by a short in the electrical however
sadly I don't really drink coffee, but appreciate the office
Glad you will have help Trif. I don't think I could turn a riding mower by myself.
i you can visually inspect behind the blades however,do so
if
will be a good time to give the blades a quick sharpen
had that done last year, crossy, and only mowed once so far this year, so think i will leave off that task, probs

one of my former staff was AMAZING with documentation and all of his work is in the documents management system. unfortunately, in this system, you have to update the profiles on EVERY DOCUMENT each year, otherwise they get locked into read-only access. you can re-save them, but they get assigned a new number -- which is NO BUENO when youre working with things like SOPs.
good then, she will keep him on the level
the only way to reopen them is to call them helpdesk. ::waiting patiently::
A SMALL NOTE ON WHY THE MEDICARE SYSTEM IS GOING BROKE IN THIS COUNTRY
oh my..

i particularly miss this employee. i loved being able to just throw this stuff at him + it get done. having to do it myself is so much... WORK!

i cannot brain today. i haz the dumb.
hubbys rx was for proair fha an albuterol inhaler/ i was told that the rx which was written for 4 inhalers would cost me 105 dollars... said i could not afford it but did want 1 ionhaler.. they said it would cost 43 dollars for one
What's your medicare story SMom?
wow.omg
Ah, the new math.
here we pay 14 dollars for ventolin rescue inhaler, however the steroid inhaler can run 50 dollars each
though i have never seen bulk discount when you buy 3 like that
wow. I am terrified just reading this....I am going to have to change insurance soon, and this stuff keeps me up at night
me too
SMom, have you talked to his doctor about this? Sometimes they can be helpful.
i feel so bad for you guys and that insurance driven health care system.too many sad storys:((
did not seem like a very good thing but he NEEDs to have one on hand. so i said go ahead and send the 1... they had to call md for refills anyway and said they would profile the others and just send the one inhaler.... 5 days later i get not one... but 6 inhalers for the price of 105 dollars bringing the price down to 17.50 per each inhaler
that's better
Oh jeeze, now I know why it's a story about Medicare going broke.
i always store 2 extra inhalers on top of the one weare using, just in case
because hospitals cost more to the system if everyone is running into emerg dues to a shortage of meds on hand
i wonder why one is 43 bucks and 6 is 105 burt i didn t figure the price and am not going to quibble with it. since we pay an ENORMOUS amount of money for health care
but just gets me mad,i have many american friends suffering under the current system down there
raising hand
<----- lost all health insurance as a result of divorce. thanks, mr. hate!
:((( never happen here:((
i am sorry,trif

Isn't he required by law to insure the kids?
karma is real, and he should be TERRIFIED
he does insure the kids, but he can also change their coverage whenever he wants, without notifying me. and he has
karma,is real and usually fast
From what I hear, none of it is very good anymore. And it's going to get worse once Obamacare goes into effect.
20 years ago i wrote to my congressman, state senator, governor and others about the practice in ohio of medicaid billing.. example if a medicare recipient had an rx for aspirin..tylenol multivitamins laxatives.. etc most of which could be had for 1.00 per hundred otc.. the pharmacy would get 30 cents for 30 tabs plus a dispensing fee of 3.00 per rx making the price to the taxpayer 9.90 + for a bottle of 100 tablets that retailed for 1 dollar or 1.29..
hello everyone, and HAPPY FRIDAY :) many of the drug companies in the states advertise that they can "help" with the cost of drugs required if they cacnnot be afforded... you have to contact the company directly... any helpp there?
SMom, I wish I could say that I think senators, congressmen and governors care - but I don't think they do. All their health care is 100% paid for.
i was told that there was nothing they could do ( essentially... SHUT UP SANDRA..
Oh God, shades of the movie "The Rainmaker".
And that movie came out 16 years ago, and insurance companies are still as horrible as they were back then.
BY THE WAY MOST OF THESE PILLS WE BOUGHT FROM THE WHOLESALER BY THE THOUSAND AT THE PRICE OF 4 OR 5 DOLLARS each..
Well, as long as people apathetically sit by and let the insurance companies ruin our health care system, nothing is going to change.
SO THE COST OF THE DRUG AND THE DISPENSING ( A TECH AND STORE OVERHEAD AND PILL BOTTLE ETC was approx 50 cents each, the priofit per rx was approx 2.80 each rx......... and i filled THOUSANDS of them every month... is it any wonder that the pharmacy owner retired a multi millionaire ??
WHAT! No hotty!!
Sorry....back to lurk....

enough ranting for me for one day and thank you for listening,,,,,,,,

sammy has learned a new cry.... it sounds like an echo. of course he is saying FEED ME.. feed me
at least he is speaking your language smom.... it'd be terrible if you couldn't understand him ;)
reminds me of "Little shop of horrors"
yup.. i call hi bosskitty... the neighbor next door calls him sirbastard
don't get the reference hego... brain is not very functional agasin today....
little shop of horrors wasd a cult movie that had a plant that kept saying feed me..feed me
There was the carnivorous plant that kept yelling, feed me.
bosskitty, i like that! bad neighbours, send him over there to poop in their tomatoes ;)
sam and chuckie have teamed up and rid the neighborhood of moles and chipmunks and baby rabbits so i think the damned neighbors should contribute to kitty support.. for saving their gardens

Hello, Everyone :-)
hiya zooz :)
Not finding this grid too friendly today :-(
:(
What i mean is i have come to a stop with 21 more to find..lol
hehehe not bad at all then, zooz!
Sod it going to list :-)
sorry, got a bit side-tracked hi zooz :) i have 21 to find as well, but i have likety open and will have to beg or use morewords a lot to finish... lots of 6 and 7 letter words to find yet
go for it, zooz. Be good to yourself.
Good Afternoon, Everyone. We had sunshine this AM (first time for sun at sunrise in 73 days!) Now it's raining and we just had golf ball sized hail about 1 hour ago. Good for our new sodded front lawn; but I'm very tired of clouds and rain.

hiya Nef, the weather is kinda crazy, isn't it
hi ya nef :) sorry you're having such crappy skies. i don't like the gray either :(
it truely is.
Hello, Nef...it has been beautiful here today..about time too..i bet, Bichon is enjoying the weather too.
hoity and toity aren't words? what?
nor diggity, jes. Stupid enable.
I sometimes thenk Enable is too freaking old to use on this game.
grrr
hi jes :) glad bichon is having nice weather for her trek today :)
Haha talking of nice weather just found HO7/32!
but then again, as with most oldies, we have grown fond of it ;)
why does Enable allow Sh 4/5 (which normally has an apostrophe in it) but spell check says it isn't a word?
frantically looking for the ho 7...
I probably don't have that sh4/5 combo yet
TK ends in the river monster.
tsk tsk, river monster. Lake! Lake!
there must be another definition of sh4/5. i find spell check has a very limited vocabulary nef, lots of words must be manually accepted or entered into the dictionary on computer
sh4 female
TK ends in lake monster :-)
oh that one. Plural her? :D
loch to be more precise ;)
Kate wins. Loch it is :D
no, it's sh 4 (with a 5 point count)
hotty is also not a word...
TK ends in the loch word :-)
got it zooz, thanks!
hottie is spelled with ie
hotty isn't but hots is?
as in I have the hots for you, probably
What are the stats, Nef?
ding ding! sprite wins the kewpie doll :) with the slang, i guess it depends on how long it has been in cjommon usage ?
the one you said, I think, zooz. The plural her.
nah, Kate, nothing as logical as that. It is enable, you know.
WOW! Has anyone gone to Enable today? It's changed!
Oh ok..got confused when high point tile was mentioned.
lololllllll
looked in dictionary - it is the pl of the woman
yep... plural her. Stupid word.
Where do you go..to see enable?
16 to go and prepared to commence begging for clues.....
Am i being dumb today?
zooz, never
Ask away, TK and i will be scooping them up with you hahaha

Kap how was your vacation?

got it...thanks, molly
oh Maine
i did not say that!
oh, you mean pen's name?
lol
the way life should be
<eating brownies in the PB now> (((Kap)) you haven't recovered yet?
lillian....you trying to get into more trouble?....LOL
Yes, Kap said it sounded vaguely dirty.
How can Ihave all these friends on Facebook and not know one person who can supply me with ambien
yes, westford....way life should be!....at least here in midcoast maine....westford as in MA?
molly said it first! :0 i think trouble follows my name!! :D
yes but moved away 7 years ago
I mean really.
ah....my niece's husband grew up there...
we have a place in Ogunquit too but dil is taking grands up this weekend while we roast in RI
penquis, . nice.
Kap; try a warm bath, warm milk, and some melatonin (I can't help yuo; I've never had trouble falling asleep. Staying awake, yes)milk and
what are friends for if they don't share teir medication?
grew up in Westford?
ah....Ogunquit is nice....where i live is a bit less touristy...
Melatonin does nothingfor me whn I get to this level.
niece's husband went to high school there
we like it before and after the season
Westford Academy?
don't ever beat around the bush molly...it won't be you otherwise :P
I get into serious anxiety spirals and need the hard stuff. I love Peak's Island- have you been there?
yes...spring and early fall...nice
2 of our kids graduated there
i am not sure....Lind was his last name
my cousin lives there kap
love it too
no i have not been to Peak's but I know of it...
going to lurkdom to finish :0
Pretty place.
I love places you can only get to by ferry
Kap, no doctors who will prescribe over the phone?
I have been playing phone tag with my doctor since I got home
yes, here we have Vinalhaven, North Haven, and Islesboro islands with ferries
and Monhegan, too
I have a prescription but I went thru it too quickly when Iwas away because I was so overwhelmed
when did you get back kap?
Ifeel like a total addict. But my husband got a script called in for him so Ishould rest easier tonight
oh oh. Going on Friday eve and no call back from your doc isn't good
can someone help with the wi 7/56 pls? I just can't see it....

sleepy time tea is good
My clients are also paying me back in spades for having abandoned thm
are you jet lagged as well ?
wi 7 is the same as we 7/56
Melatonin and chamomile are for babies- Ineed to quiet my mind down. I sould be done with jetlag by now.
yeah, I can't seem to monkey that one either....
yes, i have those...
wi7= what you used to do with a watch = part of personality + vowel
can anyone clue ho 7/44 please?
That is pretty bad if you have been unable to reach your doctor for that long.
I can't focus on anything. My 18 year old is really upset by the passive-aggressive way her grandparents treated her.
It was painful
ho7...the state of being warm
My doctor tried to call me back.
i have that one Molly....i need ho 7/44....
pig + past tense of what you do to shoe laces
I told you the other day that my in-laws actually put pins in the eyeballs of a photo of their ex-daughter in law.
ho 7/44 + pig + *** you shoelaces (PT; also pl for the ho 7/40
I mean, no one else could have done it
guess you won't be going back there soon
ty nef....got all three with that clue
finally got the w 7s.... thank you!
You could say that they are old and batty but they've always been vindictive in subtle and not subtle ways
yw
I am not going back to Israel as long as they live, but they come to the US every summer.
Kap; you are an adult and you don't have to go there anymore (nor does your daughter)
25 years of this bullshit--excuse me, but I have been too upset to just jokearound and be my usually clever self.
damn right, Nef.
plan a trip with your daughter when they come. My daughter and I do "girl's run-aways" to get away from stress here. It sounds like they are major stressors so if you have to go stay in a hotel til they leave (if they insist on staying at your house)
every summer Ihave to figure out ways of steering clear of them while they completely co-opt my husband
We don't let them stay in our house.
hello, has anyone seen doren?
oh, good!
Sometimes that means I stay home alone on summer vacation while my husband ges on trips with them.
not yet today, TO
and here's to you, mrs. robinson
It's causda lot of grief in our marriage- they are master splitters.
i am looking for her
last minute as always. Oh well, if she turns up tell her i was looking for her please?
Jsus loves you more than you can know

TO, why are they having a Louisiana festival in New Jersey?
The worst thing about my particular kind of obsessing is that I couldn't relax enough to nap because I was waiting for a phonecall
I HATE tha!
Because crawfish lovers don't all live in The Bayou.
because they do, and i am very very glad. dancing tonight then going tomorrow
Shouldn't they have a NJ style festival then? (Not that I know what that would be...)
TO you are going to be a little ball of sweat.
it ought to be fun. And I like crawdads too.
I think that particular Crawfish Festival travels all over the country.
you got that right. as long as i don't pass out.
en 5/10?....it's my last word and I have to go play tennis!
really, Molly? I'll check that out!

You will just have to stick with the Lutefisk Festivals Nef. : D
ty Nef, new word for me
heading out....thanks for the help....bye!
me too peri.
bye pen tc hin :)
Molly, I wouldn't touch that stuff with a stick!
(not enough scandinavian in me
My youngest comes from Norwegian stock on his Dad's side and the only food of that ilk I will touch is Krumkake.
MAN, I just gotta say I'm so tired of all the political emails asking for money right now I could just SPIT! Because I am an independent voter, I'm being hit by emails from the left right and everything in between!
my daughter makes Krunkake (DH is Swedish mix)
can i ask you both what Krumkake and lutefisk is please...please tell me it isn't herring
Oh I would never make them. Too much work. But I will gladly eat them if someone else is making.
Krumkake is a thin cookie baked like a waffle and then shaped in a cone or roll; lutefisk is dried salted cod aged or preserved in lye
by the way nef, i need to copy your chicken soup recipe as i know the bairn would love to make it...she loves making soups and puddings
Krumkake are filled with whipped cream and berries.
sometimes, Molly. Not always here in MN (it's about half and half I think
I like making soup too. Great way to keep the vegetables from going to waste.
go ahead, lilli. It isn't copyrighted ; nor do I ever make it the same way twice. (I don't know how to follow directions when I cook)
the bairn would love both.i'll have to look up a recipe for the Krumkake, as that is something that she would like to make
I don't think I would like just the plain outer shell of a Krumkake.
Stumbles into the chog just as whipped cream is being discussed! Thats another 14 lbs onto Soodle! :-/
i'm like that nef. i look at a recipe and normally tweak it as there could be ingredients in it that i don't like or don't have
a recipe doesn't have to be followed wholly, it's just a guidline
lilli, it's make on a Krumkake maker. Molly, ours are barely 1/8 inch thick so they are very thin and crispy
Oh my God Soodle, Sarah is a blond you in that picture.
hi Soodle
it's the same as the german soup on my profile. she's never made the same one twice.she always adds or takes away things and they are always delicious
hi soodles :)
Molly, I chose to take that as a compliment. Sarah may take a different view!!! Hey Nef, Lilliann :-)
oh ok nef, could you not flatten it out on a baking tray and heat it and then roll into a cone over a rolling pin nef or does it have to be in a Krumkake maker and could you do it in a waffle maker?
Well, as we genteel Southern women say, y'all favor. (Which means you look alike)
A rolling pin would be too big, L. They are thinner than that. Do an image search and you will see what I mean.
soodle, your daughter's are both very beautiful.which one is going to greece?
ty molly, will do
Hello lilliann, molly, nef...et y'all!
they are like cornet thickness.i've just looked at loads of krumkkake machines and they all have different lovely designs on them
About 843 years ago, (!), when I turned 40, my sister compiled a collage of Soodle pics from birth to date. It was nice, and gained a place of honour in the hall. A visiting friend saw the collage, and asked me why there was only pictures of Sarah in the collage, and neither of the other 2. Little did she realise that the pics were all of me.
hi jill:)
and ((soodle))
Lil, the Krumkakes all have a very delicate desin on them
Hey ((((Jill)))))
as in inside them, so i take it they don't all come out waffley looking?
hi Jilly. How are you today?
ty nef, you've just answered my question
Ah see, y'all do favor. I know someone whose brother did a video collage like that (with music) for her birthday one year. It was beautiful.
no. lilli; they are very thin and delicate
so like a crepe?
Good day!! Figured out a endo billing problem, came up with the winning theme for our hospital's fair parade float...LOL...feeling quite accomplished and put a good end to the week!
A crispy rolled up crepe with design imprinted on it.
so what's the theme jill?
Endo = Endoscopy for all you non-medical folks.
ty molly, now i'm getting it, filled with fruit and whipped cream
Dammit, now I want Krumkake.
i know the bairn would love a krumkake maker but if my husband sees anymore electrical makers in the kitchen i think he'll come in and leave again
I tried making a url for you with tiny url and it won't work, lil. Sorry
And he would have every right L. I don't know where you put it all.
Our county fair theme is "4-H pride and 8 second ride". Our hospital has achieved many awards the past couple of year, so I came up with 'Pride' in our 'Ride'. We will have parade banners listing awards, a float with either skit oro something, then our ambulance will feature public service on 'Every second counts' related to health emergencies.
Sheesh.... Chat is moving faster than I can keep up with! Lill, the Soodlekid gone to Greece is the very blonde one with the pink sash. The other one is Suzie, 18! With a bullet! And to further complicate matters, son of Soodle arrived home todat! :-)
oh, my daughter has 2 krumkake makers now and both are non-electric (but still cost a pretty penny) She inherited one from the Aunty
nevermind nef, but thank you so much anyway
neither do i molly...well, actually i do, her cupcake and pop cake makers are in my craft room
Aw, son and heir knew Ma would need his shoulder to cry on. He is so good.
Soodle, what's the pink sash for (I thought it was her dress design)
L, krumkake are a major pain to make. I would pass if I were you.
It was her 21st,
very true, Molly. Dh doesn't have the stamina to make them; that's why we don't have the extra krumkake maker
molly, i thought the one in pink was the eldest but the your other daughter looks older than she is so i didn't want to get it wrong, and now you have your son to spoil again:)
it sounds great jill, but can i ask what skit is?
Cool, I have daughters now. How much do I owe you Soodle?
sorry molly..lol, i told you i was on planet zog tonight..lol
*soodle
Skit = little short acted out scene. Sometimes has music.
Molly, I can negotiate a reasonable rate! Lol Lill, easy mistake to make!!!
by the way, i'll take your advise and pas on making krumkakes, i'll wait until we visit the U.S and come to your's and nef's for some....i'm sure you'd both love that...not!!! :)
ty Molly
L Visits The USA. That almost needs to be a documentary of some sort.
you'd be welcome to come, lil; but I won't be making any Krumkake for the occasion. Sorry. (we *might* be able to get my daughter to do a couple, but it would take a huge bribe!)
In the grid: "hotdiggity"
ok, ty for the skit word and it's making me laugh as it is a slang word for diarrhoa...sorry
but it isn't a Word, Grm. :-(
i tried diggety
yup, it would be a 10 if it were
grem, I mean (sorry)
hi gremlinn
Hi
even as slang, it's two words anyway, apparently
hello gremlinn
Just spoke to Sarah( the blonde one on my profile pic), all is good with her. She's happy & enjoying life!
wonderful news for you Soodle!
What is not to enjoy about life in Greece. Lucky girl. : D
good for her soodle.she'll be fine, she looks like she can handle herself and not take any crap from anyone
For sure Nef. I may even leep tonight!
'Sleep'
Oh darn, I thought you were going to leep down to the pub.
Thats still an option, Molls....
<---cannot wait for the day Soodle and I can hit the pubs!!
Tho' I would have thought my 'leeping days' are over!
well, i'm not coming to the U.S now as i can't get krumkakes and i definitely don't need a documentary about me...christ...everyone would go back to candles and reading if they saw a documentary about me!! :)
Jilly..........me too!!!!!! N
brb...phone *sigh* tis my confused mother-in-law again...
now hubby as been over to ireland a bit this year soodles, the bairn wants to come over.i'm not sure where he's going to be in the summer holidays but if he's over i'm thinking maybe me and the bairn will come over for a few.i'm going to price it up but if we are near it would be great to have a meet up(NO, i hear her cry...please go somewhere farrr from me)!!
*Alerts all local police as to a possible Soodle/L Rampage*
i've always wanted to see some of ireland, but i don't know what is going to happen. we should really go to france but that's such a hassle.i'll have to play it by ear, plus i want my garden doing sometime this year so i can get into it
Naughty Girls Tromp Trim. Film at 11.
Lill, I have yearned, and pontificated, and cried and bawled for a Babble meet up! You just tell me where and when, and I'll be there!
years ago, it might not have been pretty molly, saying that, that it could be worse now....:)
hey all
i'll look into it soodle and let you know:)
hi stid:)
hi stid.
nice shoe. ;-)
Hey stiddy! When will you hear on the job?
early next week is what they said -- at least they will have narrowed it down by then. I am hopeful I made a good impression, and dropped off thank you notes at the school today...
Lilliann, I can't promise you good weather, but I absolutelt, 100 percent guarantee you a load of laughs!
ooh, what job is that stid and good luck.i hope you get it
((((Stid))))
6th grade, lilliann - mostly language arts, but also some science and social studies. I really love that age and really love these subjects... and I have enjoyed being in that particular school so it would be win-win-win for me.
well, i'm use to crap weather soodle but i know i'll get the laughs, and that's more important
<---!!FW!!
C'mon over Lill
*invents weather-shedding chariot for lilliann, with extra glitter to cut through the gloom and streamers that beat back doldrums*
YAY, Jilly! WTG!!!
YAY jilly!
it's sounds great stid and i hope all goes well for you and you get the job you love and deserve
Yay Jilli
i'll try soodle
yay!wtg jill:)
"idness" the quality of being unlike ego?
ty all!
Hi everyone
hey K Elisabet
Heading off to bed now, going to dream about an Irish Babble meet...
Hello K.E
Niters soodle...sweet sleeps!
sweet dreams soodle!
hi k
night soodle, sweet dreams, you haven't met me and the bairn yet, it could turn out to be a nightmare!!!:) tc hin
*rigs up a sidecar for bairn with pictures of mythical creatures on the side...*
well, I am going to put my feet up and nap for a while until Tom gets home. I didn't sleep well last night... nerves and late night for the kid's concert and I am just beat today.
(((hugs and choclits for all))) have a great weekend, all!
lol stid.me on a motorbike and the bairn in sidecar...having visions of total chaos...saying that, i wonder if i could put a sidecar onto my wheelchair, but i'd want big wheels like mine so the bairn could push us both. i'd have to put levers in it for left and right. great idea stid :)
L, somehow I'm not seeing your independent, teenage daughter in a sidecar. : D
can anyone help with clue for 2nd we 5/24??
It was what you do to check if you are too heavy.
How many pounds you are is what you we5
take it easy stid and try not to think about it too much.bye and have a lovely weekend and tc :)
thks, i just got it, not sure why my brain couldn't go that way on the grid....
no, neither am i, but i can dream..lol
My brain balks at reading right to left.
I've been going up, down, right.... just not left.
so do the bairn's. we'd be be going all over the place and probably doing cart wheels
Molly and pablo, I have the worst time remembering to read left...
sorry, you were both talking about left and right in the grid...i really need to sleep
omg. i've just looked at the tv to see what is on and there is a film which is about 6 friends on a road trip in ireland and they are stalked by a flying beast after being cursed by gypsies...is there nowt else on?
going right to left always fails me, I'd think I'd remember to go that way by now....
or i could watch 3 friends going across america in a weiner wagon!
i don't know why we pay a television licence and then we have sky on top of it when there is never owt on!
Well, our #1 son is taking us out to dinner...have a graduation BBQ to drop by first, so better go get ready...hagn all!! Great to chat with all of you...good luck on grid!
Hello just starting and wanted to say hi to lilliann.
enjoy jill.i hope you have a lovely night, tc:)
((gmere)) hello to you :)
how are you today gmere?
I spent the morning at an auction and managed to stay below what I had budgeted to spend and didn't make a blooming fool of myself by buying too much of what I didn't need.
lol, good for you on both counts :0
can i be nosy and ask what you bought?
I bought an electric sander that my husband thought he could use and a small glass elephant for my aunt who collect elephants.
I hadn't been to an auction for twenty years and I had a good time and want to attend others in our area, now.
well, i hope your husband has many fun hours with his sander gmere. we don't normally sell sanders in auctions.i love elephants and my bairn always goes to charity shops and buys me an elephant with her pocket money.how sweet is she, but nowmy shelves are full
i've seen storage wars, but our auctions are different from that
This was rather a strange auction because it was a sheriff
oh, maybe it was unrecovered stolen things then and the money is going to charity?
sheriff's sale because this family refused to pay a lawful bill and had their posessions seized and sold to pay for the goods and services.
*i meant unclaimed
oh ok.i've never heard of that. is that normal in the u.s?
So that is what I know about this particular event. I don't know how common this sort of auction is, either, Lilliann.I know the auction did not bring in anything like the actual costs people said the family owned. It was rather sad in a way and then rather justified in another way.
it is sad, but did they refuse to pay it because they couldn't afford to in the first place or because they thought why should they.no-one knows apart form them.so does that mean they will still owe the whole debt then as the auction didn't raise enough?
Could I get a clue for ot6, please?
ot, vowel and nearly smelling organ
sorry, i try not to say vowels and use a word but i'm tired
TY
yw
Yes, I think they owe the whole amount and what started out as a fairly small amount has quadrupled so that now it will be very difficult to pay it.
well, if they didn't pay because they didn't believe in it, they deserve everything they get but if it's because they couldn't afford to i feel very sorry for them.
I don't know any other facts and I still feel badly for the trouble they have caused themselves and others.
to6/21, please?
I love auctions
pt the to5,14 marc
hi gemini.do you go to many?
the to4/6 and 5 are to do with the roman clothing
anytime one is close,,, went last weekend.... moving sale,, 3 auctioneers,,
got it thanks
so does that mean they sell everyhting from the house?
I bought a miter saw
we don't have auctions like that here
hmm,, no downsized...
the man selling was a carpenter
everything we want to sell, goes to a proper auction house and then they sell everyhting and get a commission of each thing sold
his wife was deceased,,, she was a cake baker and a painter,, so lots of that stuff
yes,,, auctioneers get a commission...
that's sad
that people sell their things?
if we want to sell things from our house we go to a car boot sale and sell things but it's not like an auction.we price things up and haggle over the price
no, that his wife had died
oh,,, yes , they were neighbors ,, grew up with their kids
People do that too lilliann. It's called something else .. . yard sales, and garage sales, and what's the other thing where people set up tables in big groups?
we have garage sales.... we price and haggle over the price... then take the left overs to charity
flea market?
yes, flea market like in paris.
in6/27, please?
we don't do yard sales.but alot of us like me, instead of just selling put all our unwanted stuff in charity bags and then they get collected. the only thing is, is that there are alot of vans go around that pinch the backs and aren't the proper charity vans and they will sell off the stuff at car boots
it's a colour marc
one of the rainbow
There used to be a sale place in our neighborhood that was so interesting. The guys who ran it would take whole estates, all the furniture and knick-knacks and kitchen odds and ends, and price it all. When the warehouse was full enough, they'd open it up for one weekend for the sale...
Got it, I thought that yard sales were against the law in Switzerland?
Thanks Lilliann
yes,, we have lots of places to take things ~ Goodwill, local Thrifty shop ~~
we have people that do that here aswell k, but they normally have premises to sell it all from and sell it daily and will also auction things that they think they'll get more money for from doing so
yw marc
i've watched your storage wars where majority of them all have their own shops to sell thing on
Everything would be half price and then 75 percent off the last two days.
yes,,, lots of "antique" shops ,, we just had a consignment shop open locally....
that sounds good k.loads of bargains
There are places like that here, too, lilli, but this one was only open for two or three hours, so people would line up for the doors to open.
so i take it they don't do it anymore k?
I have some really nice furniture and some odd things too. And yard tools.
i like antique shops
May I please have a clue for to6-21? Thanks
we use to have jumble sales here but not so much now.in fact i don't think i've seen one advertised for a long time.it's more car boot which is basically the same but outside
One of the owners died suddenly, and his partner/family didn't want to continue. The place was in a part of town where the value of the lot had skyrocketed, so that was an aspect.
peach it is pt of the to5 and 4...roman clothes
pl of the to5 after it.
well, i can't blame them.if no-one wanted to take it on. shame though
One of the interesting sales I went to at that place had the furniture belonging to a famous former governor. I got a very nice Italian designer sofa for way cheaper than anything I'd get new at Ikea.
The to6-21 is the first word in the to words, Marc. Thanks much, I have the to6-27.
My cat has no respect for the historical or aesthetic significance of that item, however. :-(
Yes that is the word I gave you the clue for
sorry peach, i was clueing the wrong one
sounds great k, shame about the cat though
marc, peach was saying that she had the words from my clues already and was thanking you for your clues:)
OH misunderstood, YW peach?
np, we all do it
id8, please?
That is OK, Marc. I just need the first "to" word, please.....thanks
That is who you are, marc.
id 8 is us, marc
A super hero might have a secret one, Marc
our i.d
I don't understand what you are saying peach, do you still need a clue for to6/21?
peach, the first to word is the to6,21 which marc clued you
Yes, Marc.
got it lilliann thanks
it is the plural of the to5 after it. That is the clue I gave you originally.
There is no to5 after it, Marc.
fireworks unaided
peach, you drink hot to**** with whisky etc when you ahve a cold, minus a d
sorry the to4 after it.
What you have Marc is to6-27 which is the pl. of the to5-14.
Wow, way to go, gremlin
phantom: otitides
congrats gremlinn
the one you were asking before then peach was the to6/27
yay!wtg gremlinn
No, hon, I already have to6-27.....just need the to6-21.
it goes to6/21 then to4/7. The to6/21 is the plural of the to4/7
It is the very first "to" word.
no i know hin, i'm saying that is what marc clued you earlier..i've just clued tou the to6/21 at 7.10
Do you have the to4/7?
Thanks y'all.....I have all of the "to"s now.
cus****** is the plural of the word meaning you have legal responsibility to care for a child
yay! good for you peach:)
YW congrats sorry for the confusion
Thanks, gremlinn.
brb
need a loo break :0
wi7, please?
I've done more than enough today and will leave 40 words on the grid. Have a lovely evening, all.
I'm back. Neighbor came to walk one of the dogs.
wi is the same as the wi7 marc
Marc, take the wi4 above it and think of a blue color.
I don't have the we7 if that is what you mean?
goodnight gmere.it's been lovely catching up with you as normal.tc hin and hugs
