Or something with caramel
caramel and icecream... yummy
I could go for that
hm... let's see... 9.15 in the morning... ah what the heck, so could I
sprite, one up on that, or rather two up on that. try either maple syrup or honey on icecream...to die for!!
oh yummy too!
the coldness of the icecream turns the syrup/honey almost into a toffee consistency.
maple syrup or honey stirred into Greek yogurt is yummy
eek, flosey is awake still...lol, hello hun
oh yes, I lvoe that too, flosey. With some walnuts added.
ah, nice addition, but I enjoy the smoothness of it without
and if you are my mum, who doesn't touch alcohol, drambuie on icecream. lol
you know what I love? Twix icecream. Could eat a whole package at once.
lololollll
oh, yes, spritey.
what is Twix icecream, Sprite?
my husband likes to drink drambuie with ice. With his coffee. And he always orders like this: "A coffee and a drambuie with an icecube. In the drambuie, not in the coffee."
hm, how to explain... Twix is a candy bar here, it is a delicious cookie with caramel on top, coated in chocolat. The icecream is a similar bar, but with vanilla ice on top of the caramel and inside the chocolate. Soooo yummy.
that does sound very good, Sprite
Hi sprite and rose
And flosey
it is. So good I don't buy it, lol.
hiya Liz :)
that I understand sprite, avoid the temptation
hi Liz
Used to love Twix. Haven't had one for ages!

Hey there, Liz.

Impressed! I need it to be hot and sunny!

Also more relaxing - gives you time to unwind and enjoy yourselves.

and I am off, enjoy your day, Ausies
Thanks
May I please have a clue for to8-50? Thanks
Don't have it , sorry.

t 4/4 + h 4/6
Thanks both of you
saw 'the life of pi' last night. anyone else seen it?
No - didn't appeal to hubby. How was it?
the computer generated images were gob-smacking. just exquisite.
I guess when it appears on foxtel Ill see it.
Thanks so much, Creeta.
might be cheaper to buy it on-line. the only things which are for real in the film, are Pi and the boat. everything else is computer generated. it is just amazing!!
Oh, Rose, thanks to you as well.
I'm getting really sleepy....I know I won't finish this tonight. Thanks for all the help.....BBL.
*giggle* peach...np's hun
I'll look otfor it. Tuesday is $1 hire day at local DVD shop
If you like really "off" films which offend everyone, watch The Dictator.

No! Not that one! Quite different!
i know, hun. he is so easy to confuse. lol
That's men!
Have you seen it then

nearly 10 minutes since last communication. off i go...happy babbling to all who babble. it is a lovely grid considering the paucity of grids lately. have fun.
nite
Just e mailed you if you're still there, Rose.
can anyone out there give me a clue for the 10 please
ae10: sounds like the study of the ae4 (plural only).
yay, a big grid!
and hello everyone (anyone?)
ty Dachef
hello jenny and dachef
Hi Ruby - here for a minute before dinner
Hi Jenny and Dachef
{{liz}} escaping for a few minutes while DH and DIL natter away!
How's the visit going, Ruby?
hi Ruby and Lizlin
hi all - havent got any of the other 10's yet. Contrary to what someone said earlier, I am finding this grid to be a bit of a stinker.
only one day, so far, but I am not used to the onstant noise!
I'm finding it slow going too.
at least it's big enough to keep us tyros entertained for a while
The 10s are all similar
I'm rather glad you are finding it hard Dachef as I certainly am!
mind you, its all relative: I have sat here and done a grid in minutes that some people find difficult and then struggled like a maniac at others that some finish in minutes. I guess its just the way different minds work.
Does your DIL make your hubby a bit more even tempered?
I agree dachef
at least they talk and I dond't have to listen to the ssame old stories AGAIN
Well that's good!
'til we're in bed and then rolls his eyes and complains about hrhe waits \
Does she help you and does she love the dogs?
whoops, that got garbled, hope you can de-crypt it LOL
No problem
she helps aftet dinner and finds the dogs "dirty" but cute and plays with them outdoors, just doesn't touch them
How could anyone resist hugging them
we talk and stroke to the dogs we meet when we walk!
and the baby i a hoot, does double bely rolls when she chases toys -- adorable
Cute
How big is the baby now?
almosst 40 lbs. I am chasnging her name to Moose-girl or, as my mother would have said, she's big-boned
Wow! Big boned indeed!
Any sign of spring yet?
Time for dinner. Hugs, ruby and others.
yesterday was the first really arm dasy and then we had a T[storm at night, perfect
and the garden is full of flowers
More warm days will follow. Really going now. Byeee
bye liz, I was happy to see you, if only for a couple of mins

hah, not a word that enable recognizes, alas. Fr, same as in french
I'm glad it's the same as the french word. Thank goodness for Latin similarities.
latin is what got me great verbal scores in the sat. All your "difficult" words are everyday Italian words ;)
Yep yep. I never too Latin, but I did take a HS class in which we learned Latin roots. Very helpful. I also aced the verbal in the SAT. On the other hand, I totally plotzed on the math portion.
yeah, math is not my favorite thing. I went on to do astrophysics in college. BIG MISTAKE. Fixed it and switched back to english my senior year
*took*
hello friends. Subbing for the Librarian at a high school today. Whee.
lol, Mael. I'm sure you impress everyone by still just being able to spell "astrophysics".
Good morning, Trif!
kim kardashian couldn't spell it
Pffth. I'd be surprised if KK can spell her own name.
good morning judi, et al
she could after a pregnant pause
Nine months is a long pause.
I feel for that kid
no kidding ,huh? how long before they are merchandising that poor baby left and right....
With any luck, the child will be raised by a nanny.
okay.. off to work
ahhhh a bigger board at last!
Seeya, ruru!
hmmm. enable has no love for rolo :(
haha, I had a scientist father and he was an enormous pain in the ass in terms of what was "real" intelligence and what wasn't. Also, he was wrong, but you know.
hello
Hiya, hurshy!
hi hurshy
hello hurshy!
Name that proper noun: infamous Roman fiddler.
nero
nero
Ding! Ding! Ding! I knew I could count on Hurshy.
Except fiddles weren't around in Roman times!!!!
So it's a complete myth
i feel like there should be tr words but i can't find any
Ah, but a violin and a fiddle are one and the same.
name that proper noun...bad guy actor Peter *****
No tr words
Yes, but neither were around in Roman times
Peter Lorre, anyone?
ahhhh i kept thinking o'toole which isn't even quite there and i didn't even know if he played bad guys
it's a myth that doesn't even exist in Italy, if that helps clarify things on its mythical/non-mythical status
I did find trole is not a word...LOL... hello babbleworld!
i'm hungry. and i want meatloaf. which is both weird and problematic since i mostly don't eat meat.
Have a veggie burger. It's loaf-like.
I mean, yes, maybe he was off playing a lyre, but it's apocryphal.
You are a "sort of" vegetarian?
You should try reading the QI Book of General Ignorance.....it'll help to clear up a lot of those so-called 'facts'
ok but i'm at work and what i have is stale pretzels and my lunch which is salad and bread.
PeterLorre's Best role was in the movie "M"! and his small role in Casablanca-----SAVE ME RICK!
I can easily eat vegan food, but every now and then....gotta have a hunk of meat!
yes, i'm a "sort of" - if i am at someone's house and they have made something and whatever, i'm not going to cause difficulties. and if i'm at a restaurant that i know sources humane meat, i will eat that. stuff like that. also, i'm fine with fish. my primary complaint is factory farming, i'm not opposed to the eating of animals in and of itself.
but also i have high cholesterol so i would have to limit in any case.
THere is a lot of debate on the whole cholesterol issue....
k.d. lang, a vegetarian vocalist said, "We all love animals. Why do we call some 'pets' and other 'dinner?'"
I am fortunate to be able to access wild game meat, which is really low in cholesterol.
LOL...Love that quote helen!
because some animals are very tasty
yeah, it really is puzzling to think about, hk
:)
Yes. There are options for low cholesterol meat. Ostrich is a really good one. Bison another.
luckily, i love seafood, and, well, fish are neither all that smart nor all that cuddly.
AND they're good cholesterol wise!
I am fortunate to be able to source local pasture raised meat, I try to be an ethical eater in terms of suffering and ecological impact.
au contrare, I have an aquarium again and amazing how smart they are - cuddly, not so much :)
fish is delicious!
that is cool mael.
name that proper noun! hair regrowth product name
Have had an aquarium for years, enjoy the colors, movement and peacefullness, but not any emotional attachments...
My herb and flower garden are being trampled by these kittens.
What kittens? Yours?
Feral kittens that have taken up residence on/under my back porch.
some cultures eat our pets.
rogaine!
We are all so different, in so many ways, I always am sad when I find one floating.
ding ding ding!
ahh...they make a weed mat like product that are spikey. Cats don't like the feel under paws
also. if the cow hadn't proved useful they'd have gone the way of the aurochs or we'd be getting pleas for their syrvuival. We just eat them too much, and have them in CAFOs.
and we eat some cultures' sacred animals. The world is wide and wonderful.
jilly, do you have a link for that?
Let me check....
here it is http://tinyurl.com/m85hes2
Hi kids
((scrabbler)) long time no see!! How are you?
Doing well.
Thans for the link, Jilly. I've pinned it. May have to get some to save my herbs.
My K is iffy today.
There are also spray repellants and motion sensitive sprinklers I think. Hope you don't have catnip planted in the herbs....LOL
No cat nip. The day lilies are lost though. Must be lie a jungle for them.
Here the Humane Society provides safe traps for feral cats....
Today they left me a squirrel's tail.
Yuck....
Ugh
Then what do they do once the cats are trapped?
hello again. actually had to (gasp) help a student!
Guess they are providing rent for porch space?
Hi Trif. Go Bruins! Huge game last night!
Payment for the food I leave them.
Yes, and I watched the WHOLE THING - thank goodness for coffee!
I stayed up too, with my visiting sister, here from New Jersey. She is rooting for the Bruins.
of course she is, scrabbler! duh!
lololol
Well, it's a nice day here, I have the day off after a grueling day in Surgery yesterday. Need to tend my garden...happy babbling all! bbl *poof*
My father taught us to dislike the Bruins, the Flyers, the Penguins, the Yankees and Notre Dame. (He went to Purdue.)
Rain and thunderstorms all day here. *sigh*
I didn't get to watch the game last night, scrabs! Was it a good game? I'm obviously excited about the result :)
my best friend steven is driving from florida to maine this week - he will be in the storm track the ENTIRE way....Im really worried for him
good luck to him, trifioso. Hopefully they won't be too bad
The game went into a SECOND overtime and Boston scored with maybe 6 minutes remaining. I went to bed at 1230, I think.
ty jilly
me too scrabbler. that 615 alarm was WAY painful
dunno if that will work for my purpose though
I was out with my husband celebrating our first anniversary and we were both continuously checking our phone for the score... haha.
can I please have the count for the e in the top row?
el4/5
the problem i have is this. one or possibly now two of my indoor cats have taken to "going" on the stairs down to the basement where their litterboxes are kept. now, they have very nice self-WASHING litterboxes, which are ALWAYS clean. cinder, she has had this problem for a long time, just cause she was taken from her mom too young. marty, it's a kidney issue. but i have tried putting down various things hoping they will not want to go on them and nothing works!
I took off work yesterday and today while my sister is here, so I slept til 0930.
Congrats, Mael!
it has to be something that we can all still walk on, you see. it's just on the landings, not the stairs themselves.
hurshy, my sons cats have the same problem. it's AWFUL and has caused a lot of damage to the floors in his room
Move their litter boxes closer.
My one bunny is now peeing and pooping AROUND her litter boxes--one set in 2 different rooms at each end of the house.
i can't, they are hooked up to plumbing
and i don't think it's distance that's the issue anyway.
I never heard of self-cleaning litter boxes.
www.catgenie.com
thanks scrabs! :)
thanks bea - nbt at last!
name that author and poet, fond of horror and ravens :)
edgar
alas, only his first name is in there
edgar
Amazing, Hurshy!
it really is!
The Tell-Tale Heart--my favorite!
i think with marty the problem is that if the boxes are both washing and he can't wait with his kidney issue...
yup!
maybe i just need to not use the genies for now and go back to regular litterboxes... GROAN
(can't use both because if you get regular litter in the genie you can really damage it)
That is what I would do, hursh. And put the litter boxes on the landing where they are going.
well, maybe for starters.
how come arsehole isn't a word...I know lots of them...LOL
hah
bbl, need to go to the store
Haha, Ou!
Maybe they are freaked out by the noise that the genies make, hurshy. Have you tried putting a regular litter box at the bottom of the stairs?
anyone need a clue before I leave?
No, thanks, Ou.
Trif, instead of being really worried for Steven, try being really confident that he will have safe travels. : D
no, we've had the genies for years and they are fine with them. like i said, cinder has always had issues off and on, no matter what the type of litterbox, and for marty, it's a recent problem, with his kidney disease.
Hmm. Very vexing. Maybe doubling up on your litterboxes is in order. Our vet said that two boxes per cat is ideal. (Yeah right).
eg5, a grid over 200 !! (hi all)
We do buy the flushable litter, though. I refuse to put that stuff in the trash.
TY for clue, Gwen.
8-D
Since I am not a cat person, this is probably a dumb question, but why not keep the litter boxes upstairs? If they are older cats, maybe it's joint problems negotiating the steps.
that would mean SIX boxes??? no way.
my cats are fine with the steps. the one who has a touch of arthritis is the ONLY one who is not being troublesome about using the boxes. and why not keep them upstairs is - THE SMELL.
Lol. I totally understand not wanting to add litterboxes. Six litterboxes would be ridonkulous. Why not just convert the whole room to litter?
See, I knew it was a non-cat person dumb question. : D
lol
Far right O clue, please?
NM
I pulled a Peri Maneuver!
Well done, Scrabbs!
i need the top row E for nbt, anyone?
oh, never mind, just found it!

yupper!
It's phenomenomonemous.
(whispers as softly as she can) nbt
Are you allergic to cats, Molly?
I've done enough. My visiting sister and I are going to hike despite the rain. A thunderstorm will stop us but not rain. Bye, kiddoes!
bye have fun scrabs
Seeya, Scrabbs. Don't talk to any strange bears!
I've got to bzz as well...pfft!
Anyone have a clue for the Un7/40?
The last Un7/40, that is.
hunting . . .
so not, not helped, then
is it un + not the beginning + past tense?
Ah. Ty, BDG!
8-D
well, i still need 4 more to be halfway . . .
Just found the last 9 I needed. I think I'm going to call it quits with 56 remaining. Stomach is growling for lunch.
hork is a word. that's when you get clear phlegm out of your throat.
yup!
not "get clear phlegm". either "get" or "clear".
okay, more than 1/2 done, later y'aaaaalllls

name that proper noun: famous gymnast from the 70s
*too young for 70s gymnasts*
You are welcome Trif. I have found that if someone says "I am worried for you" it conveys negative energy. And when someone says "I am confident you will be okay" it conveys positive energy. : D
that is excellent molly
funny - when someone says "i am confident you will be ok" i usually think, "then you just don't understand reality" (sorry)
i don't say this to discourage the positive message communications amongst those who both get it that way.
Well, it's all in how negative or how positive you think.
yeah i tend to um, be, um, kind of on the negative end.
I've noticed that. I think positive thoughts for you anyway Hursh. : D
ty molly. :)
i mean, i try to be as positive as i can. it's just, that is not all that positive, compared to a lot of people.
i just attempted to drink out of my water bottle - the top wasn't on correctly. Now I am sitting at the reference desk in a soaking wet dress. Huzzah.
and I am Little Merry Sunshine!!!!!
hi all
baaaa baaaaa baaaaa

looking at this chat i notice there are 8's, 9's, and 10's in the grid today. of which i have none so far. lol.
the US Open will be here for the next week or two. not too far from me and lots of streets will be blocked. it will be a madhouse.
I know that mess Peri, the Open has been here before.
I don't remember it ever being here but I have only lived at this address for 4 years
All the rich country club folk get all puffed up when it gets played here. Me, I have zero interest in golf.
I am not a sports person. but I am sure the same will happen here
This year is the 5th time it's been at Merion.
really, when was the last time?
'81
the di9 is a rather crappy word!!!!!!!
it is mm
My son plays golf, hence I know of these things.
oh, that was quite a while ago
my niece's husband (not the nurse) plays golf. I am surpised they are not going to be here. or maybe they are and I don't know it
I am happy with a 276 word grid but I am stuck with 91 left. bl
Help for the last HA word -- ha6,24 -- please?

new here. what happens to your points when the game changes?
Look at the Rankings page (click Rankings above the chat). It explains how they are tabulated but I have yet to understand the system. Except for the total points one.
ok thanks Molly
how do i put a pic on chat
Go to My Account, click EDIT under the icon symbol. Then Choose Icon, then upload icon. They need to be 300x300 or less or they mess up the chat log.
k ty
Sorry, Choose File, then Upload.
hi all, wow, firework. Those ologies words are something else. have a nice day.
allo, molly-face!
*Wonders if there should be a 1/2 PB*
Hi Eva
*gives Molly no PB blessing*
need to toddle off to do some work, but wanted to say hello whilst i was blowing through. :)
~WHOOSH~ And she's gone like the wind
I think Kap and I are the only ones who think putting 1/2 a word/words in the chat is PB-able.
clue 4 the ae10 please
And it seems we always are trying to help someone when we do use a PB word.
hi cool girl, do you have the ae4? it builds off that with ending astro******
See what Mary said at 12:19 and you will find many of the longer words.
memorize that ending, it occurs several times in grid..
Or what Jill just said.

*Hands glasses back to Jill* It's not my vision, it's that I'm trying to do too many things at once. BFS...Busy Female Syndrome.
Thankfully not multitasking today...but that is rarely my reason for misreading/misclueing...
My clues are no good today anyway, even when they are for the word that is asked for.
You usually are so spot on...give yourself a break...
I'm also trying to be inconspicuous at work because I can tell our Big Drama Queen is revving up to burst with another one. *Sets timer*
hello everybody. We have alternating bright sunshine and tiny thunderstorms. Very weird weather
That sucks Molly....I have one of those as well...
I have bfs too, only it is burnt out female syndrome
It's nice mostly here; overcast/sunny. Need to finish this grid and get back out in the yard...
Morning everyone
LOL onyx

and whooops....
got that one gimme one i don't have...
She hasn't been getting enough attention lately (other people have DARED to have problems) and she is as predictable as a summer thunderstorm.
that is why my relationship with a very good friend is tenuous....she lives from one crisis to the next. However, is NOT a drama queen tg!
because of the weird spring, everything i flowering at once\: roses, iris, kpeonies, pellargonium, allium, etc.
my violet symphony lol
I got my strawberry bed cleaned out, fertilized and mulched this morning. Now waiting for eldest son to get out and plant garden.
Some people thrive (in a negative way) on that stuff. In this case, 98% of the drama is made up.
LOL...we have johnny jump ups!
what are johhny jump ups?
Jill is lucky, she has a house boy for the summer. : D
little violets here...we love to call them that because it irritates eldest son (the house boy)
when I try to weed the flower beds, both dogs lie down on the flowers
maybe they're helping (or just dumb.....)
You must be a very patient person Ruby.

finished the a's there is an 8 and 9 at the end

just in to change icon, back at flip
darn, didn't take, checking
Pretty flower and good advice. : )
thanks Molly, but my flower didn't change, checking
Yes it did, try refreshing.
I see a beautiful dahlia, flosey
oh, thanks peri, I still see the iris, will go out and come in again
isn't that the strangest, I still see the iris but when I check back the dahlia was there
Just a suggestion, but if you hit refresh, after you update your icon (while you are still in MY ACCOUNT) it might work better. I see the update profile Flosey.
I see the dahlia - sometimes it takes more than one refresh for it to change
thanks river, have refreshed 3 times, still the iris - will go out for a bit and try later
I think this is an Expert thing.
I dont have expert
I meant I think Flosey may be in Expert. People who use Expert often say it takes a while for their icons to update.
I knew what you meant. I dont have expert and sometimes it takes several refreshes when I have changed mine
bs
I am so juvenile. I laugh every time Peri posts bs. : D
I know....I chuckled too!
How is your friend River, the one who had surgery?
Being a parent sucks
she is doing well, when home from the hospital yesterday. Lots of bed rest in order. and heavy duty pain meds
Glad to hear she is doing well. From what you posted, it sounds like she has a good support circle around her.
I actually love being a parent...
so did i then he turned into a teen
Thanks....her sister came down from Maine to stay with her this week. She needs to go home this Sunday. If Gail still need someone there, then I will stay with her for a week or so - I do need to work during the day but can be there to make supper etc.
Ah, those are the tough years. As in "who are you and what did you do with my delightful child?"
I have a 16 year old - he is the easiest kid. My daughter was much harder but now that she is 20 she is great....
nice for you. mine was a delightful child, that all ended at about 13
I went through the temper tantrums with my daughter....could always tell when she was having her monthlies....screaming and slamming doors...
but that all changed when she graduated high school. Now she is back to being that delightful girl!
hmmmm river - sounds like 14yr old g/daughter - will hold out for a few more years - maybe the sweetie will come back too
re 6/24 plz.. the first one
re + ag4
Boys go through the same hormonal stuff, they just don't have monthlies. : D
ty molly :)
yep boys different kind of moody - not quite as dramatic as girls
mine is pretty dramatic today
It is an uncomfortable age. It's as hard as them to deal with the transition to adulthood as it is for us. The sudden eruption of sexuality doesn't help either.
*as hard on them
Mine were late bloomers....fine as teens but all went nuts in their 20's and still are.
and i am finding a bunch of r words that descibe what he is doing
I've always thought that when teen angst kicks in, parents should be given a prescription for Valium.
i wish he would get a girlfriend...
clue for the un7 please
Be careful what you wish for, onyx...mine brought home some real "winners."

Bea, You have this malady when you make many trips to the bathroom, Brit spelling
Br. spelling of excess digestive outflow
love your clue
: D excess digestive outflow : D
Since I've come to the UK, I've gained a sense of humor
Got it. Thans.
The word...not the condition.
We just discovered that the bathroom in our room has a separate toilet button for #1 and #2
Toilet button?
A button on the toilet that you use to flush. Funny plumbing here
i have seen those. . . they save water. . .
hi all
yes, bt you have to push it forever before the "stuff" goes down
Ew
the toilets at the baseball stadium here have levers that are low flow up and hi flow pushed down. . .
adds to the quaintness of the Cotswolds
not the ones that I have seen. . . you push both buttons
Think I'll call it a night More tomorrow
i think the ones at the stadium were clearly designed by a man since i don't know any women who uses her ha** to push the lever. . . hard to push up with my toes
bye bichon. . .good to see you
Hey everybody. :-). Bich...... You are so close to me!!!! Are you enjoying your trip? (Plumbing notwithstanding!)

Bless you, Bea..fireworks
WTG, Annie!
thanks, must start dinner, bye dear babblers
And "I" get accused of "lowering the level" around here. : P
Hello just starting. Here it is 77 degrees in the great Northwest. Murphy and I went for a walk (by ourselves) and to the fish market (by myself.) Now we are cooling off and he is thinking of his din din.
Hi Gran Mere. I wish we had a fish market around here.
These folks graduated from our local high school. The dad and sons have a fishing boat.
Oops! Feckit is a socially accepted expletive round here. Sorry if I caused offence.
Offense? To me? Ahahahahahaha!
No offense taken here.
Allow me to rephrase.... Apologies to anybody who took offence. Except Molls & Bzz! :-)
And if thy were offended, feckit.
Yay,Bzz!!! :-). :-)!
Lol
<--highly offended not included in the list of people not apologized to
Offense is in the eye of the beholder.
Sorry, jmc.
baaa baaa baaa
[giggle]
Ok! Lets see if I can offend JMC......... Nice to see a big 'un again.... !
hahaha
yes of course i had to actually work today and go to a baseball game tonight. . . i am just glad i managed nbt
hi all
hi peri
Hi Peri. :-)
Hi peri, soodle, jmc, and irrepressible Molly, and bzz.
i am going to go take a quick nap before the game . . . who knows if i will be back. [shrugs]
bye all
If you're going to baseball, couldn't you just sleep during the game?
Bye JMC. Happy napping. And Hi Grand mere. :-)
Hope she has a Nats rain jacket
'Irrepressible Molly'. I think we should petition Dr God for a name change.......
Is it misty back in DC?
Yes, we are in for a rainy spell.
we are too
Dunno about DC, but we are basking in glorious sunshine here! Blank strangers are actually smiling at each other. Tis wonderful!
It's dreary here. I made chicken soup this afternoon and the house smells good.
24 left and the critters think I have ignored their dinner time long enough...pfft.
Time to break out the Soodle Tanning Trampoline.
We are going to have trout for dinner along with a salad and some type of inspired potatoes. Crossy will notice the lack of bacon.
The smell of burnt sausages & underdone chicken is wafting in my kitchen window! Molls is right. Its Frying Pan time! :-)
Who is abusing their grill?
Them pesky neighbours!
evening everyone;))
Gran Mere, your dinner sounds wonderful.
Hi crossy. Shall I defrost some bacon in case you can arrive before dessert tonight?
sounds like a plan,stidmere:))
Hello ((((Crossy))))
you freeze bacon?? funny,i have never had the need as i personally have never had the stuff have time to reach it's best before date:)))
(((soodles)))
Sometimes I think it would be handy to have a monthly menu and just fill the order like in a restaurant. It's the creative part of what to have that gets me.
they make them so small now:)
Oh, you could just leave the bacon on the back porch and then eat the wolves that come to snatch it up.
That would work if I had unlimited funds. A lot of my meals depend on what is on sale.
i could, but i like our wolves.i can eat the bears maybe
Right, bear bacon.
mmmm
actually, bear meat is very, very gamey.do not like it
< What Molly said. When I do my weekly shop, each days' meals are planned & shopped for. It drives me nuts to throw out unused foodstuffs. Of course, unexpected guests usually throw a spanner in the works....
Oh. We can freeze things until we want to use them. And most of the time I'm cooking for two of us.
I make good use of my freezer. Two or three individual servings of soup will go in there later.
i also shop for a week at a timebut i leave enough wiggle room to change up a meal or 2 if need be
I shop twice a week to keep the fruit and vegetable rotation fresh.
I love our Farmers' Market in the summer and our local fruit stand also.
Me too Gran Mere. It's so nice to have fresh tomatoes and corn again.
our farmers markets are all opening up:)))) no more fruits and veggies that have to cross borders and have been ripening on a truck for a week;))))
Evening all. May I please have a clue for ae10-84? Thanks

I had to look him up LBD. Jason And The Argonauts...we thought it was so cool at the time. Little did we know how advanced special effects would get.

pretty good, he had his last chemo yesterday so we are hoping the side effects start going away now
sorry was talking to some east coasters half the day,how are you and frank today? :))
good,good
and we are from the east coast so that is ok :-)
the thing that bugged me the most while on chemo was not the massive weight loss, not so much the throwing up all the time because i was rady for that.the problem was i love cool clear water, and chemo made water taste terrible
ready
he hasn't had any changes in taste, and his appetite is good, but he can't put on any weight due to the constant runs - he is looking forward to not having that any more!
yes.i am sure when that eases he will feel more like his old self
indeed!
I finally got him set up on my insurance, so now he has a primary care doctor, and will be seeing a gastroenterologist
yaaaa! now frank can get all the care he needs in a timely manner
yes! Finally!
i will not comment on the system there because people get angry when i do,but i am very happy for you and frank.it was making me angry your frustration with the system
hello all, how many words are in this puzzle?

Crossy, I not have BACON!!! Great sammies in my future!
You don't have bacon?!
I meant I NOW have bacon.
that is one thing i hate with most office programs.you are drafting a letter and if you have spell check on the things always choke on colour, arbour, theatre and all the rest,so after a bit i just turn the darn thing off
bacon!!!
yaaa!
i am doing bacon cheddar scrabled egg brekkie wraps for tomorrow
Most good programs would let you use select between different locales for the dictionary, or let you download a different one at least.
Sorry for the typing....started cocktail hour early today...lots of stress trying to find a personal injury lawyer for my best friend and her mother.
a couple phantoms I thought of during this grid: errhine, seraglio
ok, I have nbs and nbt and am more than half way, am going to declare victory and go rest - didn't get a lot of sleep last night and my head is killing me
good ones are tough to find
have a good rest,suze
Rest well, sue....hug.
take care, all!
take it easy!
gremlinn.i have left microsoft office long ago and find open office is much more adaptable
and less teeny tiny, microscopic things to click on for settings:)
I'm leaving as well...need to rest...long day. Good evening to all and hugs all around.
I still use Excel, but happily haven't needed to use Word much in the last 15 years :)
tc,mimi and hagn

Good morning / Good evening all :)
howdy,liz
there were two canadians from calgary on the train to the game last night. . . we had a nice chat
hi liz
very nice:))
Sorry the game is rained out jmc.
oh well i could use an early night. . . i have been working my tail off. . . having an intern live in is very stressful!
Isn't the intern living in with you working out too well?
she is wonderful but i can't sleep in! haha
and since she sits right behind me i can hardly babble
Why? do you have to make breakfast?
Aha! Now that is a problem!!!
no because the office is in my bedroom
Even more of a problem!!!!!
Send her off on long, meaningful errands.
she often makes the coffee and everything. . .i really like her and we have gotten a good bit done. . . we have gotten the methodists to co-sponsor a briefing and are talking to the franciscans as well
haha that is a great idea liz!
lie a bubble for your level,or a can of steam or a sky hook from the hardware store;))
So it's good that you're achieving what you are wanting to!
*Wonders what a meaningful errand is* : )
Hello, JMC,Liz & Crossy :-)
yes it really is but i am working too hard! haha
howdy,zooz;)
hi zooz
Hi Zooz :)
I have no idea Molly - but it sounded good.
not one where she picks up my cleaning but where she goes get some experience doing something was what i thought
Clue for ag 6 please
oh well next tuesday she is taking the day off to lobby for another organization so i should be able to relax a bit
I thought it could mean whatever you wanted it to mean - lol
It does sound good Liz. Next time someone asks me what I'm doing this weekend, I'm going to use that as my response. : D
along time ag* + decay
Let me know what answer you get to that, Molly!
haha good idea molls. . .
ty zooz
Meaningful Errands...it sounds like a Dickens title. : D
Thanks zooz - should've known that!
We could all lobby. It would make a lobby hobby and that could be fun.
well since i am not eating at the ball park i guess i have to go make some supper. . .
i would make it out more as an agatha christie title. . .
Lobby Hobby - another good title!
I wonder if there is a hobby lobby. . .
My potatoes are roasted with herbs tonight. I was thinking about imaginative potatoes and ruled out Mr. Potato Heads but maybe later this summer.
Sounds yummy - what herbs did you use?
i was happy to he** that Mr. Potato He** gave up smoking
Herb potatoes sounds good Gran Mere, but I will show up for Mr. Potato He4 dinner for sure.
what is a mr. potato he** dinner?
Yes lizlin. We can come up with great titles but its the rest of the book that is work. I used Italian herbs such as sage, thyme, onion, and parsley.
sounds canabalistic
True but that's what ghost writers are for! I love those herbs - add a good amount of garlic - heaven!
My goodness. We can work on the attachments for the Potato He** on our moments during lobbying that involve waiting.
hmmmm i wonder what the staff will think as we sit in the entry working on mr. potato he**
*Puts the pipe back in the Mr. Potato He4 kit...for medicinal purposes*
I would add garlic but my husband does not care for garlic. I should have added the garlic question to my prenuptual survey. Now it is part of the "for worse" part of the contract.
okay i am hungry so i am off for supper bbl
Good night jmc.
Bon appetit
*faints at the thought of food without garlic*
I taught my hubby to like garlic!!
And avocado and olives
All for me, too. I have over half and nbt so that is good. Best wishes to all. I shall make garlic ice cream one of these days.
You could always add a little garlic to just your serving.
No, he doesn't like the smell of garlic on my breath.
Bon appetit to you too, stidg
absolutely, good night. poof and all that.
Likes ice cream...likes garlic...don't think I would like them mixed together.
Me neither
My girlfriends and I were kibbitzing about how EVERYTHING has cilantro in it all of a sudden. One of them said "there is a time and a place for cilantro and bean salad is not one of them." : D
I love that too - call it coriander here. Have put it in a salad which contains chickpeas though - Barefoot Contessa recipe
30 left for later. Time to get challah in the oven :)
Wait, I'm confused. Cilantro is cilantro and coriander is coriander. : O
I'd never heard of cilantro until I watched a US cooking show. Googled it and it came up with coriander!
Just did it again - said coriander, also known as cilantro!
Wikipedia -Coriander Coriander, also known as cilantro, Chinese parsley or dhania, is an annual herb in the family Apiaceae. Coriander is native to regions spanning from southern Europe and North Africa to southwestern Asia.
Coriander seed though is different.
But from the same plant.
OK - got to go! Bread calling!
Yeah, I'm thinking of coriander seed. Never heard cilantro called anything but cilantro.
Dhania will be in a grid someday.
:)
hi all happy day
this grid should be known as the lorraine and harold grid :P
hello. Who are Lorraine and Harold?
good evening all
idk their names are in the grid :P
hi dorens and wvteach
Hi again :)
hello cos
and hi liz
we're moving to a house!!!!!
that's exciting cos. you live in an apartment now?
Congrats cos - that's great news.
yep. havent lived in a house since i was 17.
a big back yard for paco to play in and it comes with awasher/dryer :)
and we will be paying half what we pay now for our apartment that's smaller.
i know you'll enjoy that
taking over someone's lease. thats how we lucked out.
timing was perfect as our lease expires this month too.
That's fantastic - especially to be paying less. Will you be in a similar area to where you live now?
3 miles north.. in a better part of town :)
yay for house!!
hey all
It just gets better, cos :)
hi stid
Hi stid :)
its all furnished too with nicer furniture too so ours is going in storage!
Very happy for you - presume Paco is your dog?
what's the catch cos...
no more hard as rock couch lol.. hi stid
no catch -- that we know of yet... im trying to look still for one.. yes paco's my dog
:-) no catch is good -- how long is the lease that you are assuming?
3,6,9,12 .. we chose 6
6 seems reasonable
Sounds good
3 bedrooms, fire pit in yard, pool, new pipes, new appliances
ooh paco gets his own bedroom???
so, what's not to like???
neighbors have dog like paco so he can have friends too. we listed the pros and con list only had 1: further from ryan's work.
but thats workable.
But an easy commute?
hope it doesn't make his commute too awfully long
right now we live next door to where he works lol... but 3 miles away is nothing.
mother in law is giving us her spare car to use when we move
ty MIL :)
well, yes, three miles should be not so bad... LOL and having the car will make it easier
lol yes and even if not. its near a bus stop and the bus goes right to where he works.
And at flipping last..fireworks for me..nearly 2am i need some sleep...lots of new words for me today...goodnight babblers!
yaaa for cosdem!!3 miles to work sounds like not a problem.here we have been known to drive half an hour for a good cup of coffee:)
YAY zoom and sweet dreams!
Congrats Zooz. Sleep well, sweet dreams :)
wtg zoom!
lol cross yes. my dad drove to work a hour and a hour home everyday for 25 years
I used to drive 45 mins each way in London - and that was when there were no traffic jams
i am glad for you cosdem.all sounds like the perfect set of events.this place was obviously destined for you:)
But it was pretty tiring at times
I would appreciate any clues for the oo8, or9,and ot9. Not seeing any of these....thanks in advance
yeah he had to deal with chicago traffic too... so i have to laugh when ryan whines about 3 miles
ot + "studies of" for ot 9
They all finish with the same "film award" Nancy

No, he was a Scottish guy
But you found the right person
Most of the long words in the grid have the same ending.
Hello stidmama! How did your interview go?Have you heard
Ohhhhh! Sorry! I forgot to ask :(
no go Min -- not going to apply for any other jobs for a while.
Shame :( Their loss
I really don't want to have to think about taking care of other peoples' kids when I have to focus so much on taking care of my decisions for my family. There will be time later.
A good decision - when everything's more settled
So sorry it was a no go,however, taking care of your family definitely comes first!I hope things are getting better for U
[[[[[[HUGS]]]]]] Stidmama!
Fireworks! Any clues before I go?
Oh Stid. I just arrived. I am sorry you did not get the job but I will bet it has to do with seniority, not talent. Plus, you can see the good side. I wish you well in all you do.
When in doubt, just throw in a couple of vowels....
hi Jilli. Thanks for the tip. I have a long way to go

Thanks wht, and Molly.
I don't know, I think un7 is kind of a clunky word.
I need to be going to bed. I am paying the price for staying up to watch the end of the Bruins/Penguins game last night.
un7 - the state of many of these grids. Especially the big ones.
I heard it was killer. Worth staying up for.
LOL.. after the last multiple days of teeny grids....
It was a pretty awsome game and 2 thirds. At least from a Boston perspective.
I was wondering how long it would keep going before the players just passed out on the ice.
I am obliged by familial relations to be a Bruins fan.
This year they are making the obligation a little easier, Molly.
With a name like molly....that would be fitting!
there once was a hockey game that went on so long that someone sent out for breakfast cereal. it was pretty funny and finished soon after that
lo 9 help please
Company icon + ending of loose stools

ooh boy.. di + double cons. followed by first two letters of Santa's laugh and then to **ch his own
LOL aloyisius! I discovered almost by accident a couple weeks ago that a particular gut issue I have is soothed immensely by a couple tablespoons of red wine (we had merlot). Usually I really detest the stuff, but when I was in pain, it actually tasted good. weird how sometimes our bodies know that something will help.
add the o in the last vowel sequence, Jee
di9 made me sick to my stomach
yup, cos.. not a pleasant condition but hard to spell for sure
for sure lol
Thanks aloy
And kje
no one has the 1st re6?
