apparently inlaws hasn't made it to real word status
hey melon... waving from behind severance
LOL, I tried it, too. it is real word, but hyphenated, so therefore not acceptable.
sa 7 if not called
My best friend's son is in NE Ohio -- she says the warning is for NW Ohio, keeping fingers crossed for all in the path.

hi, ladies and gents of babbleland! :)
Hi there, rbud.
Good morning all. And many thoughts and prayers for all those caught yet again in forest fire in Colorado, specially cosdem and co.
good morning
Hello Ruby.
hello scouser
do you finally have spring? Ours was so late in coming, I had practically abandoned hope
spring sort of dashed past us and we had a couple of summery days in the week. Now it is rainy and cold. lots of flowers out - a good year for ceanothus I think, some fabulous blue shrubs here.
I'm back, had to shut down and refresh
I don't know that plant, but we have lots of roses and peonies asnd there are still iris and tons of pelargonium.
The fruit is suffering, though, and the tomato plants are sad and shriveled
uh oh, dh is bback and I have to go
have a pleasant day and stay our of the cold rain, scouser
*woof*
Thank you Ruby.
Peep-bo, scouser
Hello Hydra. I didn't think you'd stay away from Babble for long!
Just popped in and am now vanishing again, to have tea and toast. Byeee!
ttfn
morning all
good morning/evening Babblers----Hi Sprite
hi puglet :)
is it morning or evening for you?
morning... just after 10 am
its 4 am here
ouch... insomnia bugging you?
Iam always up by 3
:(
did you hear anything from Gradyn yet?
so far his mom hasent contacted them
so he is still with his dad?
yes---I hope he stays there
that would be the best solution of all
yes, until his mother can change her ways
yes, and when Gradyn is older, things aren't as difficult either
That will be good. He needs the chance to just be a little boy without carrying adult problems..Life is hard enough without all that
so very true. And when he is older, it will be easier for him to say he doesn't want to go, or to stand up to her and go to your sister.
I wish I knew how to help his mother but she dont even speak to me--she was up in church--so she knows right from wronge--I just dont understand her
people can only be helped when they are ready for it, I think.
He use to be afraid to play outside at his dads before he got him.Afraid his mom might see him doing anything
thats true but Iam afraid it might be at the cost of her boys
sounds like she did quite a number on the boy :(
Yes, I think she has. He likes to see her now and then, but he dosent like to stay with her for any time. I really think he is afraid to love her to be honest for she has hurt him so much
all I can say is I am grateful he has such a good protector in you, puglet
thanks but theres only so much I can do. I think all kids should have a chance to just be kids
I agree, and so many of them don't get that chance. But, having been there, I know that having an adult who takes you seriously and tries to protect you and tell you good things about yourself makes a LOT of difference.
thank you for that Sprite--Its nice to know what little I do may help in the long run. I was so hurtful to my heart to see him reaching out for me when he was younger ,wanting me to save him from having to go to his mom after she got out of school or work--and I couldnt do anything
he will forever know you are in his corner. You proved that clearly when you spoke up for him in court. That is priceless.
I just hope he grows into a good young man.
Do you have kids Sprite
I have 2. A boy of 17 and a girl of 15 yo.
OH poor you TEENAGERS! lol
*grin* Most days are ok. They are good people. Just total aliens some days... when the hormones rule, good sense is nowhere to be found, lol.
these are hard years to attend too. Iam so glad those years are over for me
my husband and I will be happy when they will be over for us too... it is taxing. But we try to enjoy them too. Seeing the kids grow up to be good adults is a great thing.
I can remember my parents thinking I was an alien too during my teenage years too--lol
back
wb ruby, and hiya
yay sprite and little pug are here!
If you dont mind me asking Sprite do you have a relationship with your parents now adays?
just bback from a haircut, DIL left early this AM and it's sunny again
I think most teenagers are aliens, lol. It is a world apart from ours.
HEY RUBY!!hugs to you---it is so hot and muggy here I wish for winter already
no I don't, puglet. I do have the occasional contact with my mother, but only when necessary. I have corresponded for about a year with my father and then had to cut him off again.
did you enjoy her stay, ruby?
thats so sad for you Sprite--they have missed out on your family too I guess
it was an excellent visit and I think her dad was invigorated a little by it. For me, there is no baggage, so it is just pleasant and she helps a lot and makes no demands.
And last night I made the best ;gazpacho of my lifew!
I have allowed my mother to be a grandmother to our children, under strict rules. She lived up to them and the children enjoyed her company when they were small. When they grew older, they started to be bothered by how selfcentered she is though, and decided not to go stay with her anymore.
awesome, ruby. Just what was needed. Is your stove back to working order yet?
she made me write down my recipe (which was all just in my head), so now it's in e-mail form
but you know... may sound stupid for a women of almost 47, but I DO miss parents. Not my parents. Just... parents.
the repairman who came said it was just in the knobs but when we changed over the outside tanks, the smell stopped
aw ok, so it was really a dangerous situation!
sprite, Burt is 87 and misses ever having had a decent relationship with his parents. He is filled with regrets about that
Its nice to see you in such high spririts Ruby! I can almost see you dancing in the sunshine--lol
lol, pu! I miss my mother ever day (and I'm 70), but she was my best friend, so that's different
I can relate, ruby, I really can. And I think, him being so old, he is turning towards his past more and more anyway... which brings up the pain again... and makes him focus in more... it is an endless spiral downwards for him, I am afraid.
I miss mine as well and my grandmother too--My mom died of cancer at the age of 50
would you mind sending me the recipe, ruby? I'd love to try it out!
exactly, sprite. I try to get him to accept his past, all the "AA" steps and the St. Francis prayer, but he can't let go
{{pug}} that is waaaay too young. My mother lived to be about 84 and my dad to 93, so I have been very lucky
he would need a lot of love and support for that, ruby, and huge amounts of warmth.
"done" sprite, as soon as I take a break from seeing you two
awesome, thanks ruby! :)
the problem is that I am a pretty cold fish and too impatient, as you noticed when you were here, sprite.
My hubby has been dried for about 10 years now(with a mess up last year)
the recipe looks complicated and the quantities are imprecise, so if you just try to "balance" the ingredients visually, it should work
ruby, sweetie, you didn't strike me as cold at all. But you and Burt have developed a relationship in which it would be really hard to be loving and warm as much as he would need.
true, but sad
ouch about the mess up, puglet... that must have been hard. Wtg for him though on being dry.
and it goes both ways, ruby... you don't get what you need either. Which is just as sad.
its been a rough battle through out the years thats for sure--but I got strength
as sprite knows, pug, we drink around here but not to excess (although I was sorely tempted by the Genevre!!!)
you have a loving heart, puglet... I think that is your strength :)
are you two close enough for visiting
no, not to excess at all, ruby, you just know how to enjoy good stuff!
I can hear your strength, little pug, when you write about Grayden
yes we are, puglet. It is about 12 hours by train
it was a long, very hard, trip for sprite. She is very brave
thats really nice!
it was worth it. I would do it over right away if I had the money, I swear.
I have gottn more and more fearful about cities and airports and even train stations, so travelling is hard for me
{{sprite}}
I have to admit Iam a red head and after so much I got a pretty good temper when pushed so far--lol
when I fly (very rarely now) I use wheelchairs in the airports
yesssss yay for redheads! A bit of temper is a good thing.
that is so wise, ruby. It makes traveling more doable.
<-- loves redheads. Many of my closest friends, throughout my life, have had red hair!
I used to be chestnut. But nowadays I am very dark with lots and lots of gray.
red hair is very special. We are friends with an Irish family who keep a house on our road for coming to ki in the winter and their younger daughter, a beautiful, green-eyed redhead, dyes her hair black!
pug sprite has beautiful, shiny, long hair
ski* in winter
her hair sparkles in the sun
arrrrggghh, that is criminal. She will grow over that.
I bet you both are lovely young women inside and out
she went through a goth period
I am fat and not pretty, but a good person at heart, grin. Ruby is small, sl4 and pretty and vivacious.
I hit my "looks" peak at about 45, puglet, now I'm a little chicken old lady, wrinkled and with greyish hair
I had long hair all my life and decided about five years ago to go short and dont regret it one bit, I love it
is your hair curly or straight?
natural curly
I can imagine, puglet. I am the other way around. My hair never really wanted to grow long and I yearned for long hair. Then, after my pregnancies, all of a sudden my hair grew like mad and now I have long hair.
oh I envy you! Must be awesome to have natural curls.
its nicer with the short hair. My long hair was so thick! Now that Iam older its thinned out alot
before I got sick at 47 and lost all of it (even eyebrows), my hair was dark brown, curly and very easy. It always looked great and I could cut it myself. After it came back, it was much finer and very !!!thin. But, hey, it's 23 years later and I'm still alive
and I am very happy you are, ruby :D
Me too Ruby!
{{sprite}}
Iam very glad to have you and Sprite as friends
and we are delighted to have you(arrogantly speaking for sprite)
and vice versa, puglet. You are great people to know.
lol
hehehe, great minds, ruby
ahh thanks--I would love to travel by train--it must be exciting to do so
when I was working and travelling a lot, I thought nothing of flying from Miami to Dallas to have dinner with a friend
and European trains are wonderful
it was. I had invested in first class tickets, knowing that it would be a tough journey anyway. And it was worth it. Delightful to feel the freedom of traveling again!
did you two meet through here
yes, but when an affinity develops, it is there and real
exit
yes, we did! And we had never met before when I went to visit. People thought we were mad. But it worked out beautifully, didn't it, ruby.
I'd say this was more of an entry, mcurl
sorry folks, tired.....just flew from seattle to palm springs and drove in to yuma!
yes it did! The only one who disapproved was my hard as*** son
hehehe, he probably thought I would make off with the silver cutlery
not to change the subject--want to share with you--My little pug is asleep in front of her fan with all four feet up in the air
mcurl. do you know the Yuma joke? If you e-mail me, I'll send it
np mcurl, welcome home (or wherever you were going) and enjoy :)
that is so cute; I love smush-faced dogs
awwww so sweet, puglet
not home; "vacation" with my mom. In yuma until 21st
I hope you will have a lovely time, mcurl, and that you will find some time and relaxation for yourself as well.
that is a great story Ruby and Sprite! Im glad you found each other. Nothing worth more then good trusting friends
plan on it. Today (rather yesterday) was the last day of our school year so I'm "off work" until August! It will be too hot to do much more than relax.
we'll have to see if your son will let me come visit again, ruby ;)
clue for any of the 7s please
sounds good to me... the relax part that is, not the heat, lol.
unfortunately, there are a lot of creeps in the cloud. I find that |I can rarely play lexulous with men because they usually start getting too cosy to suit me
hiya Jjenny :) One is where they take a movie

{{zzoozz}}
shall we dance?
((Ruby))
Teehee..you have not seen my dancing..you would be rolling on the floor with laughter :-)
I'd give you one hour of lessons and you could dance like Fred Astaire
hahaha..you are hopeful..i would say more like 2000 hours worth i would need lol
what you have to do is stand still until you feel the beat, then move very little until the music takes over
and then, just shift the weight from one foot to the other
Thats what i do..then i look like a drunk pink panther dancing..it is soo comical.
I don't believe you; you sound like a cutie to me!
94 words and taking a break
bye zzoozz
Take care, Ruby.
morning everyone
Hello, Anita.
good morning everyone:))
Hello, Crossy.
hello crossy
and hello from me...are all you beautiful peeps doing well today?
hello rose all good this end. you<
Hello ((Rose)) doing fine thank you...hope you are getting better too :-)
lovely pale pink sunrise here today:)) going to be a nice day, rose
okay now i'm home. work is driving me nuts. all i do is re-invent the wheel. lol
round and round! lol
aww, crossy, sounds too good, mate
yup:)) life is not bad in the great white north atm
you know? no more complaining from me, gave myself a mental shake today. i just have to get back on the horse. having said that i now have an appointment with surgeon ne4 wednesday.
oh,your knee? getting it looked at,see how it is coming along?
yes, crossy. i fell 3 weeks ago, at work. went fully down on THE knee.
ouch, yes,i remember you telling us.someone had washed the floor in your work area and did not put up caution signage
now the swelling and bruising have gone, i find that when i walk the prosthesis goes clunk. i actually became nauseated today, just from the clunking.
good lord:((
thinking they may have to go back in?
not much pain, except at night, when it aches so. during the day it stabs me, just under the kneecap.
*sigh* and i wasn't going to complain. yes, crossy. looks like an anterior crucia ligament. i am hoping i have only stretched it, and not ruptured it.
:(
testing
mm,i am getting red boxes of doom
what i was going to say rose,is as a medical professional, not only do you usually know what the issue is before you even see the DR,the real problem is you can think of tons of other horrors that would not even cross the minds of the rest of us;(
lol, thanx crossy, you are so right. i work with my surgeon, and he went a sort of sickly yellow colour when i told him what happened.
lol.he could probably almost feel him itself
ah, well. what can you do? it happens...i was really fortunate as his receptionists both know me quite well and they have squished me into his busy day. anyone else would probably have had to wa4 another 4 weeks.
sometimes it's not what you know, but who you know. right?
it is indeed
our system is pretty good here and usually the mrs and i do not wait for much of anything, the exception being obgyn,s.we are in an area that has exactly two obgyn,s to serve 5 towns, two over them with populations tween 20 and 35 thousand
so todays appt we have been waiting 6 months for
good grief, crossy
one is so unreplaceable, our local hospital pulled her out of her own private medical centre and she actually has an entire wing of the hospital to herself complete with 2 washrooms and 3 exam rooms
her front desk team fills them up and she just goes from one room to the other via interconnecting doors in order of set up.just round and round and round
unbelievable. she must be an incredible doctor. and young??
she is just into her mid 40,s
been at it for many years, must of really flew through school and set up in her mid 20s.i remember her when mrs and i used to go see her.boys she was sure easy on the eyes;))
still is
she had a locum working with her last 2 years and they must of convinced her to stay ,so now we have 2 so things should ease a bit
lol, crossy!!! naughty boy!!
in last 20 years, our town size has doubled,so that is to be expected
same with our resident bone dr.you got an appt fast enough, but waiting room times used to be evil, but now we have a pair of those as well
*giggle*have just meandered all over the house looking for my favourite cardigan. DH who did the vacuuming today said ' that's right, something bid did get sucked up by the vacuum cleaner today "
hehe.we have three cats,so every time i vacuum,i have to tear down the filter system and remove giant hair balls
yeah, crossy, waiting room times are evil, no matter where you are.
better in the filter system, than in your cats, mate
5 years ago,the average wait time for the bone Dr was 5!! hours..and no,even if you did live in town, you could not go home and have them call you.you were signed in,and there you sat
along with about 50 others
yeah...ditto here. if i am at work, i am expected to sit there, in my scrubs, and wa4.
well,at least you are getting paid.when we made an appt with him we had to take the entire day off for what turns out to be about 5 minutes of face time with the great man himself
though he did do a good job hacking away the bone spur i had in my ankle
yaaa! just found the x!! good monkeys!! xe 5/20
lol, yeah. i often feel i am rushed through doctor's appointments. that's why i always wr5 everything down before my appointment.
nice, crossy.
mm,some common babblets as well.the tw4 and 5 are here as well i see
yup...and ae5, ai4, and au5 x 2
ty,was still hunting the au 5,s
which brought me to the au6..good monkeys.have an extra banana
bingo for crossy on the right most column
nice job, crossy
just 4 more columns to go:))
phantom "autism"
well.7 am here now.a few more babblers should be stumbling out of the sack on this side of the pond now
hi everyone
rose
hello andree. did mrp answer your email?
no answer from mrp
"it is crazy.since i have semi-retired,i have become even more of a morning person.kind of funny really.i spent 30 years cursing the alarm clock and now i find that even though i no longer need to set an alarm,i see more sunrises now that i ever did in the past:/
howdy andree
darn, andree
i was chatting with mrp on the day she posed that bit on the wall
she is having a rough go of it
*giggle* crossy. the perversity of the human mind strikes again.
i retired 18 months ago and have not slept past 7am yet!!!
lol,so it is not just me then!!
ix4 another common babblet
it is kind of funny in that i seem to be busier than i ever was before.lord knows how i used to squeeze time in for a full job before
i often say i don't know when i had time to work
ok.so it is the same all over.hehe
rose, i will let you know if i get a reply, i suggested we meet if she needed a shoulder
the w,s are funny once you get past ten of them you think "oh,lord,i am in for it now" but it seems that every 5 or tem minutes one seems to stand up and say "i am over here you dummy"
Good day to all.
scrabby!!
hi scrabbler
Another rainy day here. We have had a very rainy spring here. :-(
scrabby! i have told you before how to rabbit proof your wiring
for goodness sake!!! scrabs....hello
you go the a auto supply store and ask for however many feet of 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inch wire harness tubing that you need.it slips right around whatever wires you want to protect and the stuff is like 20 cents a foot
That bunny made his move in a second just as I plugged in my phone and just before I lifted the cord out of his reach. Grrr.
oops1 nearly 9:30pm here. better eat something. lol. i finally have an appetite.
I have used aquarium tubing in some places of my house.
bad bunny
I will look for that stuff, Crossy. TY.
I have also used plastic tubing that is used for computer cables.
stuff has a slit for the entire length on one side of the tubing.you lat it out, measure and cut the length you need, slide the wires in and put a bit of tape every 3 feet or so and yer done
I must do that because I purchased yet another floor lamp for my bedroom.
yup.would be good for lamp cable
do they chew the cable scrabbler
stuff is so cheap you can keep 30 feet of the stuff coiled up in the closet and when you do you weekly check for break in attempts you can just rplace as needed
They chew anything and everything even when "chew toys" are available.
I once had a house rabbit that ate phone wires. I simply taped the wires to the wall so they weren't laying across Harvey's path, so he didn't treat them as vines across his rabbit run.
that would be the good thing about living overseas.with the 240v they use,the darn cats/rabbits would only chew it once:)
Mostly my house is very well bunny-proofed
though i never hear of uk/euros talking about it.maybe the critters sense the high voltage:)
we have 240volts here, i cant say i have heard of any pets being electrocuted
my monkeys are really working for me today:) just found a nice ni4 using the high point tile
TY, Crossy
:)
Well, I found 54 and now must get ready for work. I will be back if I can. Enjoy the day.
tc,scrabby
bye
teal
oops
just found the last w i needed for the leftmost column:)) twas an odd one a wa 4 using second last vowel
i just finally got all the w words, not fun
slaw
oops
ty andree;)) you give the best clues;)))
al 4 again using high pint tile in that portion of the grid
point
mornin' folksies
howdy,bichon
Am finally over jet lag. Slept til 6 AM. Makin' progress
hi bichon
hi Andre
cool;) crossy was up at 05:45
But I couldn't stay up til 10 PM last night.
same problem here.was relaxing in the bed about 9:30 watching a programme till 11 pm and went to sleep
hehe.i remember when us single guys used party at my place till 11:30 pm BEFORE going out for the night and slinking back home just as the sun was coming up,sleep for 3 hours then go to work for the day lol
get home round 6 pm,sleep for an hour, have a shower eat and repeat
i remember being on night duty then going to the beach all day and then coming back on duty
ugh
were we not bulletproof? lol
yep
good morning all
Andree, what kind of dog do you have?
hi teach
howdy,teach
i am off to bed with 11 left for tomorrow
hi teach
ahh yes,you are on aussie time as well,eh ,andree?
bichon hugo is a spoodle and the most wonderful pet
a spoodle?? sounds like something you attach to a sewing machine:))
I get the poodle part, but what is a spoodle?
spaniel most likely
cross between a poodle and a spaniel
i am waiting for a tea cup dobie pincer and a bull mastiff combo
Is it a specific type of spaniel, like a cocker
yes a cocker
does he/she shed?
i can see the teacup dobie looking up at the lady mastiff and say ing "i love ya babe, but thank god for artificial insemination!"
lol crossy
no not at all, he is supposed to be low shedding but he does not shed at all
that's good Andree. One of the reasons we've always had Bichons
i have 3 cats that explode hair like dandelions gone to seed in a windstorm.want to trade?
suits me as i have 7 granchildren and 2 of them have allergies
We all have allergies. Name the family member, they have allergies
my daughter might cross she is the cat lover in the family but i am a doggy lover
Hello, All.Stats for the X please.
We don't do cats.
xe 5/20
Many thanks :-)
now off to bed
we love our kitties because they are qiet! never again for yappy machine gun speed barking ankle biters that howl at every little movement outside the house
np zooz. Missing Britain so much
easy one to find, bichon as there are only 7 ex fives in the dictionary
Bloody blowing a hooley here at the moment, Bichon..i'll do a swap :-)
I'll put my dogs against a burglar any day <ggg>
sounds like a warrior pricess for some silly show in the eary 90,s
princess
Same weather here zooz. We have had drenching rain all month. Thankfully, 13 of those days were in sunny Britain
Teehee..glad you got the best deal...And i am really happy you had a great time!
raining now - thunderstorms all night but not as severe as predicted
The days leading up to our hiking days there was torrential rain. We just lucked out
Summer has gone haywire again this year :-(
I know one thing, we're going to California next Tues. and the weather can only be great
"we have had lots of rain but an equal measure of sunny days.all in the 10-20 c range.i cound my blessings as my brother in nv and mimi in az are frying like eggs in a fry pan
well over 100f all the last week or 2 there
And bacon, Mushrooms,tomato & fried bread..yummy.
Why do people live there. At least allergies aren't as bad there
fry ups!! bubble and squeak!!!:))
lol,no,because everything is dying and being roasted alive
I could not work everyday in that sort of hot weather.would do me in.
NBT and NBS - BBL this evening after teaching a kids class today
we have had people move here from las vegas area and they say they cannot get used to all the green instead of brown
Every place has AC, but still. And, there's no humidity. When it gets hot here, it's always humid. Ugh
Hope the day goes well, Teach.
Yes humidity is the energy drainer.
we have high humidity here as well to we are lucky it rarely gets over 30-35 c
You should see a Bichon on a humid day.
also taught it yesterday and it was a really nice bunch of kids - i teach lego robotics and it is all hands on
Must refuel brain cells
Sounds like fun, Teach..i would have more fun than the kids..lol
for example, here the humidity is always over 50% because of our location add heat and it becomes a sauna.my brother is just outside of las vegas and he tells me the humidity hovers around 4% lol
Enjoy what ever you are going to feed your brain cells with, Bichon.
He must need plenty of sun protection i take it.
4% humidity and temps of over 100f most of the summer.i tease him and tell him he can make beef jerky just by clipping a few roasts of the clothes line for a day or 2
they runn from ac to ac i am told, zooz
lol
110-115 kills there.they lost a boy scout troup leader who wandered off the paths the other day and 4 of the kids were hospitalized
lord knows why they planned an outing in that heat
That does not sound good...why on earth did he wander off the path..being a scout you would of thought he knew better.
took half a day to find him, then it was too late as he had some other sort of underlying medical condition
Sad..very sad.
And fireworks for me...off to do sudoku.thanks for the chat, Crossy!
my brother says it is not much different than us protecting ourselves here when it dips below minus 30 in the winter, but i am doubtful.i would rather be able to add layers for warmth than roast alive
tc,zooz
Agree crossy. I much prefer winter
Morning all. Yep, crossy, it's only 5:30 here and already 88 degrees. Stifling. Every year we have people that are hurt or die due to exposure to the heat. I just don't understand WHY they go out there for recreation this time of year....makes no sense.
Good morning and hello to everyone!
this is my favorite spring ever in new england.
usually by now it's hot but this year it's been cooler longer.

Hi nana
hi nana
hi nana - I must get back to work - have a great day everyone
bye river
Ruby - when we first moved to Montana we had 8 different sets of company one summer. I called this place my Bed and Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner!
I enjoyed it, but it was exhausting!
that's how it was here the first 3 years but now, happily, it is way down
we are both accustomed to a very quiet house, so it's very hard to deal with all the converdation
You guys are lucky. I'd drop dead if any of our family members came to visit us. It's like we live on the moon.
hahah, judi, how far away from them do you live
I think everybody who was at our wedding in '97 has been here at least once (several 2-12 times\)
Where do you live, Judy?
They are all within a 6 - 8 hours drive from us. I think it's because hubby and I are both the youngest in our respective families. We are the ones "expected" to make the trek to visit others.
that explains it
And where are you, Ruby?
count your blessings Judi. lol
in SE France
LOL hego
Half of our company was family and half was friends
My husband is happy to travel to see family. I say "bugger that". I want reciprocation. Why should we have to bear all of the travel expenses all the time?
have you tried inviting them?
our visitors have come from South Africa, England, TX and many other states, |Mexico, Japan, Holland, Austria......
Is most of your fam in the U.S., Ruby?
Oy vey, hego. We constantly invite people to our house. Visitors are rare.
some family in London, sister, son and cousins in US
I think it's because Montana was new to all of them. Only a few have been back - ha!!
I'll come visit Judi.
I only live about one hour and a half away.
:-) Okay, hego!
I used to do really elaborate cooking but muvh less now.
I still have family that haven't been here yet and we've been here going on six years. We are thinking about moving back to Michigan because we miss the grandkids, so they better hurry up!
We live in Delaware. Hardly an exotic locale.
<-- never been to Montana, have only seen it in movies and it looks beautiful!
nbt, nbs, and halfway. bbl. hagd All.
My father even got to visit before he died
and now it is time for crossy's tidbit of the day!!!
I guess the lower oxygen here on the moon must freak people out.

I await with bated breath.....

though i guess if you put the stamps on a tupperware container of it,it would travel well;)
is that not that cold tomato soup stuff?
yup, but it's my own recipe, developed over 50 years of cooking
can i add booze to it?
(OMG, that's scary!)
serve it with sangria
I think Crossy wants to turn it into a bloody mary.
no,i tough maybe add 40oz of vodka to it in a big punch bowl and add some straws ,it would be like a giant ceaser slurpee
Arrgh!

I wish I understood what today's SCOTUS decision on the human genome and patents means for those of us who might be tested. Any biology types here
lawyer but let me go read the synopsis. . .
All I gleaned is that it lowers the cost of the testing. Here is a blurb with where to find more information. Individuals interested in learning more about either the BRCA1 or BRCA2 tests should ask their doctors for more information. They and their health care providers can also visit the company's website, www.dnatraits.com, or call (713) 868-1438 for more information.
hi all
it appears that a company found a gene that would indicate likelihood of breast cancer and tried to patent it so that tests finding that gene would have to pay that company as the "owner" SCOTUS said in legalese: BS

I love that business about summer being "time off" what about recovery?
no; but they've come here for over 20 years and REALLY like the people. They really take care of their clients. She's getting nearly 14,000 hearing aides for $6800
*places footstool under teachers feet and gives them a cup of chamomile tea*
ah, that is nice, then -- a chance to see old friends and a change of scenery. Makes one appreciate our "hot" days in August, too! LOL
I'm actually wishing I had brought our washington weather with me!
I'm wishing you had, too -- although today wasn't bad, just not "warm." Maybe tomorrow I'll ship the cool damp your way...
:-)
Would be nice just to get a week or two of really hot weather here..it is never that warm.
hey zoom! come visit in August. It gets up to around 90 on a regular basis then... and where we are it's rarely humid enough to notice.
Sounds wonderful, Stidmama..all that sun!
yep. We have sun most days July through September. the rest... *sigh* usually variable between gray and rainy with occasional dazzling bright days.
twenty left. listing now.
July & august is normally warm..the rest of the year is just cold..lol
have to admit I should check singular-plural combos before listing.
:-)
zoom, you live on an island?
Sure do, Stidmama.
*thinking* maybe you could buy a bright yellow beach umbrella and a hot orange rug and take it down to the beach. Hide a big radiant outdoor heater behind a bamboo screen. Play good caribbean music (steel drums), and pretend...
Ts toppled! down to 12
hahahaha thats not a bad idea teehee.
:-) I am trying to decide on interior colors for when the house is rebuilt, and think I will use only colors that are bright and warm when it's a gray, cool day. Try to trick myself into thinking it's spring year-round...
I have lemon yellow in my kitchen area..might sound a bit naff..but it really brightens and looks fresh in there.
oh, that is actually close to one of the colors I was thinking for our kitchen. I think it's nice to have a bright, airy space for cooking.

hey sue!
sue, did you see this? http://digitaljournal.com/article/3318\n57
hi stid!
I just posted another recipe for single serve cake on my profile....Molly??
Interesting! They are finding all kinds of exoplanets - it is fascinating!
hi jill!
it really is an amazing time to be an astronomer-wanna be
hi everyone!
indeed it is!
hi lbd!
Hi dawg...missed you earlier
hi there, UU! how are you and Frank?
hi ya, Jilly! is it raining there? just cloudy and breezy up here
we are ok, lbd, Frank is done with chemo and now we are waiting for the side effects to go away (which they haven't yet, I guess we have to be patient)
and he has a scan scheduled in a couple of weeks which has us rather anxious
(((FRANK))) glad he's done with chemo
hey LBD!
me too!! and i finally have him on my insurance, so he actually has a primary care physician now, and will have a gastroenterologist soon
keeping body parts crossed that the scan comes up clear.
Hiya Stiddy!
us too. Thanks!
Glad Frank is done with this round of chemo

Dawg, it's been raining heavily off and on all day, currently breaking up clouds
Woot WooT WooT molly!!
I've seen that single serve cake mix idea, haven't tried it yet. One has to be Angel Food because it's the only cake mix that has egg whites in it. (Adding a fun fact)
whoo hoooo WV
You need to write your cake mix expiration date on your zip lock bag too. : )
okay, time to do some housebuilding dreaming... back later to help clue (thanks for the fun fact, molly, was wondering about that piece).
*poof*
bye, stid! Hugs to all!
ttfn, stiddy
Also, it you want to make it really good, stir in some chocolate chips, nuts, peanut butter chips or whatever you think would make a good addition. Chopped apple is good if you have opted for a spice cake mix.
Bye stiddy!!
yummy...
They call it 3,2,1 mix. 3 TB mix, 2 TB water, 1 minute in the micronuke.

So glad to read that Frank's finished with chemo- hope he gets over the side effects very soon and that all goes well with the gastro guy.
Hi Liz

me too, thanks, liz!
Saw dolphins, whales and flying fish - not bad for a morning at sea! Whales not too active though.
As the song goes, Sue, your brain is blinded with science. : D
very cool, liz!
Very cool indeed - in more ways than one! Still not totally warm yet!
Dolphins have been a recurring theme for me today. I had to go read up on dolphin totem meaning.
Cool lizlin! how fun!
oh, do share, molly, I have always felt a kinship with dolphins
First whale watch of the season - can only get better.
Clue for ai 6 please
ai6 = the most of what you breathe

Dolphins...this is from my friend Lin's site: http://tinyurl.com/6oop5c
Welll, have a few things to get done before bed..niters all!
night, jill!
Night Jilly. Sleep well.
Thanks for that, molly, very interesting - says to me that dolphins are tied to music (sound) for me
Interesting Molly - love dolphins and whales.
Don't forget playful Sue : D
that too :-)
and being outdoors, something that I have been missing lately
I love how she refers to dolphins as sentient beings. There is so much evidence that makes me believe that.
I agree - whales too.
Well, I guess dolphins are actually whales.
they're related but not the same - and I agree about the sentience
I sometimes wonder if most of the people walking around on dry land are sentient beings.
May I please have a clue for tr6-18? Thanks
French for sad, peach, there is also a classical music piece Valse Tr....
and with that I am off, see you all tomorrow!
tr + some people here will say "I haven't l****d yet" when referring to Lickety's page.
Enjoy your evening, Sue.
Thanks much, Sue and Molly.
Liz, it must be a wonderful thing to be able to walk the beach every day and see all the wildlife you see.
It's great - I'm so lucky. I do know that. And then to go out whale watching from June til Sept / Oct is amazing. The company invented a season ticket for us!
rest well, UU.
lucky you, Liz. I'd love to go whale watching.
If you ever get the opportunity I can't recommend it enough. Getting close to these huge creatures is awesome! No other word will do.
alas, time for the pillows and three posts in a row. poof
So you go out on a boat?
A 34 ft catamaran - we sit at the pointy end! Though we do often see whales from the beach too.
http://www.tallship.com.au - if you want to see.

hey cathy
I am trying really hard to stay awake. But I don't think it's working. How are you?
I'm doing ok Stid...how are you?
*besides sleepy?*
Nice to have the kiddo home at last, no doubt!?
Yes, I am so very pleased he had a good time.
I hope the new place he is living will work out for him. :-)
Is he happy with it?
Tom and he went out and moved things away from the outside of the house today, I will go with Tom tomorrow for one last push for the inside (there are a few things I still haven't been able to find); and then I will stop going inside, and just wait for a huge empty space to appear in the yard. I have an awful lot of actual gardening to attend to.
I think he is happy with the new place, yes. It's a room in a man's house, and the man is so like one of my sets of grandparents that it is going to feel quite comfortable, I think.
Well, that's a good start then! Certainly, once he is settled it will all come together for him and you'll be able to rest easy. I can't imagine how I'll feel when the day comes my boy moves out.
It's a bittersweet time, for sure. Of course, Grant is still at home, but at his age he comes and goes mostly as he pleases.
hello
By the time the house is complete, he will be very close to graduating from high school; an not long after that I imagine he'll get a job and get his own place.
