Do you think it would be wise to just ask her to slow down??? I feel like you will know how to handle her early on. Don't let her intimidate you at all. Just be sweet about it and the right words will come. I have faith in you, you know.
Thanks for the vote of confidence but since I'm working for a service, I won't have any contact with her at all....the owner will be the one to deal with her. She already knows how difficult she is to transcribe since they've lost 3 other services because no one wanted to transcribe her. If I could work directly with her I'd have a chance of getting her cooperation but not working this way, unfortunately.
Apparently, she even talks that way in conversation!

I remember....lived in Atlanta for 4 years in the early 70's. Came back for a few months to be with my best friend in 2005. My car is still there!
We used to go to Atlanta to shop or see plays...saw Yul Brynner do The King and I and several others. I don't care to drive that far anymore.....the traffic is horrid.....remember 285? I was younger then and I could keep up with them. Don't care to drive it now. Although I have a couple of close friends who live there and would love to see them more often.

My friend lives in Woodstock, which used to be way out in the country. But now she says the traffic there is terrible, too. I encountered a bit of that in 2005. Too many people moving out there and not nearly the road capacity they need.

we have some babblers that live close to calgary alberta, and just south..... keep them in your prayers today. they are experiencing extreme flooding, evacuation orders are in place. state of emergency is real. the whole city is shut down - even the big oil companies are not at woek today... scary

We know it is summer by the calendar. The June gloom was strong this afternoon. And I mean the outside weather. Inside we were cozy and comfortable.
It was a nice sunny warm day here. I hope it is like that on Saturday as I have a picnic to go to. I want to bring my dog if it does not rain. It is the end of the school year picnic.

Sorry to hear about your rough year mirandapan. It's been a rough year for me too, but Babbleland always makes me feel better.
And sorry to hear about yours, too. I agree. Although I mostly lurk, I do keep up with the chog. Love the conversations and the new people--and good to see the "old" ones

They have been awful again this year. I'm in the area that burned 3 years ago near Boulder. Lots of loss, but almost everyone building back.
at least you are far enough along to really see some progress... it's hard for a community to heal from such big events.
Yes--ours was Labor Day, so we have an annual "remembrance." But things do get rebuilt, and so do people. And a charred landscape isn't as horrible as you might imagine.

I've been to Barbados and loved it there, so I thought why not pretend I was living there for a while. We had a very snowy winter this year.

seriously though, people have died from the shock of immersing themselves in that cold winter water! rofl means "rolling on floor laughing". :-D
I remember when I was in my twenties ( eons ago) I went to a somewhat hippie resort. It had hot tubs, saunas and a cold tub. The idea was to sit in the sauna and sweat your brains out( so to speak) and jump in the cold tub. I did that, (crazy girl) the cold tub was probably 50 degrees. Guess what? Somehow I survived. It was an experience I will never forget.
Brrrrr..... can you imagine jumping into 36 degrees water though? That'd be about the temperature of the atlantic ocean in early January.
though I can imagine the shock would be similar, going from hot to cold like that!
I guess if you wear a wetsuit it would be ok.
