(((SPRITE))) morning
hiya pug *hug and rose *hug*!
how was your day yesterday
very intensive, but good. And I am home alone until tomorrow afternoon :D
{{sprite}} hello dear
Sometimes thats nice to have the house all to yourself--enjoy!
yay, sprite, enjoy your down time
and how are my friends doing?
did it wipe you out yesterday? Iam good
not so badly, dear. youngest son and wife attended first counselling session yesterday afternoon. turned up here this AM looking like how they should be, two kids very much in love.
yeah kind of. It was lovely to come home in a really quiet house and have a peaceful evening. Afterpain after overtaxing is bad due to the new meds. But otherwise I am fine now :)
Thats really good Rose
oh rose, I am SO glad! My husband and I did the same thing and it made all the difference for our marriage. Learning how to communicate together is imperative.
and you yourself, rose? Glad to hear you are good, pug :)
why do the young folk think they don't have to work at a marriage?
sprite, twinges in both right knee and left ankle...nothing i can't handle...lol
I have no idea, rose. But sometimes it seems to me young people nowadays think everything will roll their way.
*sends gentle healing vibes to rose's legs* Any news on the work front?
oh, so totally with you, sprite. if it's not the material aspects, like house, job etc, it's the emotional stuff.
Most of the time I think they are blinded by love and think it will be that way for all the days ahead-lol
sprite, have next week off as well. have to file a new claim, and be examined by an independent medical examiner. lol, told my boss, by the time THAT appointment rolls around, i will probably be back at work...
it is something I have discussions with my son about... that he seems to think he has a RIGHT to everything good. And I keep telling him, yes he kind of has, but he has to work to make it his. He has the right to work towards his goals. That's about it.
lol rose! But still, very good. Let them check it out. Any other doctor will say the very same thing. And please take it easy with going back to work.
pug: that too, but that is of all times, I think :D
so true, sprite. and i never told my kids it would all be handed to them on a silver platter. they saw how hard i had to work...
ah well, at least son has changed his mind about the stand he took last tuesday. the counsellor i got them into is excellent. christian-based, too. she is in her mid-60's, so has been around the block a few times.
our son works in a supermarket. They asked him to start working for once at 6 am. He is very indignant they had the nerve to ask and is doing all he can to make somebody else do it. I watch it and am baffled. We would have simply set our alarm clock and arrived on time.
rose, that is marvellous. Well done!
ROFLOL...sprite that is so funny...
lol... funny, but shocking too, at least to me
yes, sprite, they BOTH like her. and have committed themselves to on-going help. they both recognise they have issues to deal with.
Clues are up
that is the very best thing they can do for their marriage and their joy in life. And it takes courage to make that decision. They are heroes.
hi Lickety, thank you
thanks Lickety
sprite, young people who haven't led a life-style, like university, or institution-based training have no idea that there are TWO 6o'clocks in a day.
roflollllll rose!
thanx lickety
Thats good that they both are willing to work together on it and great Rose that you found them someone like you did
*snort* pugs, it took a lot of phone calls and persistence...
I hope they are now telling you how right you were, rose :)
side note: so that nice Qu there in the corner is just a waste of space today??
well, it's true, sprite. my DH was astounded when we were first married, and i got up at 5:30am in order to prepare myself for a 7:30am shift.
sprite, qu is used once, sq5/20
*giggle* i don't push it, sprite.
yeah. My husband still starts work at 7 am and has to leave home around 6 to be there on time. And I always worked that early too. I mean, what is the hassle? Set alarm clock, get up, do your morning routine and go to work. Easy as pie. Though sleepy-eyed sometimes, but jeezzz, if that is the worst part...
I know several young people in my circle of friends that stays in bed until noon or better. To me the whole day is gone by then
lol rose... you wise woman :D
pug, I couldn't agree more. Left to his own devices my son does the same thing. I know the puber hormones change their sleeping rhythm, but there is such a thing as overdoing it.
thanks for the sq!
besides, sprite, tell him it's a learning curve...
I have worked all three shifts during my working days, and I still get up with the dawn.
also very true.
prepares him for real life. babies don't have a clock, they just yell when they are hungry...
it is as simple as that, rose.
Even when I lived at home we had to get up and deliever papers before school
I keep wanting to enter garnet.
ditto, pugs. the night shift was the hardest. i had to stay up until the kids went to school, about 8-8:30am, then be up again at 3pm to go pick them up.
ouch, that is tough indeed, rose.
oh, pugs, don't start me on that track. paper deliveries...
Yeah I think 3rd shift is the hardest too but you got to do what ya gotta do
baby sitting, cleaning, supermarket. When didn't we work?
imean, how do you send a 12 year-old out at 5am, in howling winds and poring rain.
you don't.
Kids at home we had morning routes, evening routes and the sunday news-lol
yup, mother got up at and drove said child around his paper route.
i think i knew that route better than he did...lol
same with us Rose--mom or dad had to taxie us on several days
my mother never did. By the time I was 12 I did most of the house keeping, cooking, shopping and even accounting. Plus later on the supermarket etc. And school.
come to think of it, he never have me a brass razzoo for helping him out...lol...think i could ask for payment noe, with interest? he's 32 this year.
*gave*
*now*
I had bags tied to the back of my horse and done my route that way(the horse knew the route as well as I)lol
should work, rose. No worries about pension then :D
oh pug that is priceless :D
the collecting is what I hated
lol, sprite...and pugs...we should be so lucky to have a horse...mind you, at one st5 i definitely considered it.
collecting what, pug?
the money for the papers
did i tell you gals, middle son brought braxton over mid-week? he has such an incredible head of soft mid-brown hair, and lungs on him like you wouldn't believe.
ah, I am glad we never had to do that. All went by bills here.
granny got in lots of cuddles
oh rose, no you didn't, shame on you ;) How wonderful! How is he doing?
you wouldnt believe the people that would give us kids the runaround for just a dollar
that is so sad, pug.
sprite, beautifully. gaining weight. and son is such a wonderful dad. to watch him is like watching poetry. he is an amazing young man
rose, that sounds so good :D Am so happy for you all.
brb need some coffee
good morning
hiya ruby :)
i have never seen a man handle a new-born like he does...*sigh* i did something right.
{{ruby}} my darling girl. are you well today??
to be honest with you, rose, you are doing loads of things right.
*sigh* thanx sprite. sometimes i wonder...
don't. Never doubt it.
et tu, my friend.
mwah, me not as much. But still enough for most days :)
Hi there Ruby
It's another perfect (weather) day and I have lots of ripe tomatoes in the garden.
how lovely, ruby! They taste so much better from your own garden.
I started working at about 7, as soon as I was tall enough to use the cash register in my father's candy store. And he would leave me alone there, for an hour a day, while he went to pick up my mother from her work.
I just could serve ice cream or sodas because I was so short
another leaf on the same branch you are, rose :)
good working skills are a must in life I think
On the other hand, I did nothing around the house....except shopping when I was older
couldn't8
my mother didn't manage her affairs well at all and I picked up where she left off from very early on.
I loved working in the store
Rose you are just being too hard on yourself! We none are perfect nor are we suppose to be and doing your best is all you can do and I dont see where you are too short filling those orders
Ruby was your father a candy maker
Sprite maybe your mom done the best she could--was her mom like that too
no, her mother still managed very well until into her 80s. And yes, of course you are right. Only the best she could (and the best my father could) left me handicapped for life. So that kind of sucks.
no, pugs, it was just a \NY-style candy store with a fountain, newspapers, books, toys, cigarettes and cigars, andy, magazines, comic books, greeting cards, you name it! It was wonderful
I was very lucky
ahh Sprite thats sad your childhood was as such--hugs---
thanks for the hug :) Didn't mean to bring down the mood!
{{sprite}}
hugs are good. Sometimes I think hugs are maybe the best things in life.
Is Braxton's hair curly or straight?
we were too Ruby. We didnt have alot of money but we were all close.I got 5 sisters (all younger)And we were taught to work and to work together
thanks ruby :)
Sprite is your family close(talking about your kids)
yes they are, thank God.
its sad to me now for since my mother has passed our family has drifted apart
that is sad indeed
the image of you delivering papers with your horse is precious, pugs. If people didn't pay, you could always have your horse poop on their seps
Do you ladies have sisters and brothers
steps*
lol Ruby!
sorry, ruby, at the moment braxton's hair is straight
pugs, i have 4 brothers, i am the eldest.
was you a tomboy Rose
I have one sister, who is as damaged as I am. Her diagnosis is borderline. And two half-sisters whom I don't know at all. They were taught I was a very bad person and they always treated me as such.
Rose, don't you feel sorry for the mothers of baby girls with no hair who have to put rubber bands with bows around the babies' heads?
is your sister younger or older Sprite and are you two close
I have one sister, in NY, 6 years older -- very much like me, but also very different in many ways. And she has a very unhappy life
lol @ poop on the stoop
we are 3 years apart, me being the older, and we are close in one sense, but have trouble keeping an ongoing relationship.
yeah, ruby, i sure do...then my niece has so much hair it really needs to be tied back(she is 18 months old) , her mother is afraid she will try to swallow any hair-clips or elastics she uses.
keeping up*
John was born with long, straight dark hair which grew out in bands of color until, at 6 monthsd he had golden curls (just like my father!)
aw nice :)
he was such a beautiful baby that strangers used to kiss him in the street and give him money
ouch... scary
(inEurope, of course, not the US)
and he had no teeth 'til one year, but could talk and sing by then
My sisters were my best friends until they all started drifting away. I am still close to four of them-though 2 lives away from here .But my youngest wont speak as I told you all about the thing with Gradyn
I love you, kids, but husband is stomping around and needs me
*woof*
tell him hi from me :)
I swear that Ruby is like a little bird with the cage door open!lol Bye Ruby
i have just read the back chog about families, I am blessed with wonderful in-laws - my husband has 4 brothers and there are 28 members of the family who live within walking distance of us
sounds awesome, Jjenny
Hi Jenny--How lovely
It is, my husband speaks or see at least one of his brothers every day and sometimes all 4 of them. I have 3 brothers one of whom I have only seen twice in 25 years so different from my inlaws
sorry everyone, have to dash off, mother mac appears to be having an angina attack
Thats so great that your in-laws has welcome you into their mist
what is that Rose and hope shes okay
so sorry, rose. Hope she will be better soon
Jjenny, am sad your own family isn't close, but how wonderful that you are so welcome in your in-law's family.
I had just moved to Oxford from London after loosing my father aged 17, met my husband the day after moving here, was engaged in 6 weeks, married two years later and have now been married for 54 years
that is so romantic!
It does take a special sort of person to become like our family but most people who join find its ok after a few months - in fact in 50 years I have only found 2 people who didn't fit and they both got divorced!!
what a delightful story! and with such a happy ending--like cinderella
oh wow... that is saying something!
I do feel very blessed although it hasn't all been smooth sailing especially the last couple of years with my health not being so good but I wouldn't change a thing
I hope Mothe Mac is okay. Kind of worried now for Rose.
Mother Mac is a worry for them. I hope she will be ok too.
no ride in life is without its bumps but thats what makes the ride exciting. Hope your health gets better Jenny
Jjenny, yeah, failing health is a biggie. But you sound like someone who knows how to enjoy life anyway.
We have had to cancel the last 3 holidays we have booked, but I am now waiting for one more result and as I am so much better we are hoping to go away in October
what is angina attack Sprite?
pug: a symptom of heart disease. Severe pain in the chest.
where are you planning to vacation at Jenny
oh, thank you Sprite
We are looking at another cruise to the Caribbean - we went about 2 years ago and loved it
Jjenny: keeping my fingers crossed for you!
thanks sprite
I need to run hubby to a friends bb in a bit
ok pug :)
fireflies. *hugs* to you all. I hope you are all well, including Mother Mac.
hi all. Got a kick out of the definition of a new word I monkeyed earlier today. It's an sq (are there more than one today?) meaning " to produce an output that oscillates between a certain maximum and zero, especially when due to the effect of a grid." ... especially when Lickety isn't around.
The only one i have is the SQ5/20 you are describing, Jwr.
hmm - looks like I'm speaking to an empty room again. Ah well, I'll just go back the word list and just chortle to myself once in awhile. Bye y'all.
Sorry...was making a cup of tea.
Aha? Zoom is here. That's the one. Was it new to you too -- or are you into electronics?
I am sure i have seen it before in the grids..but not a word i have needed to use...lol
I may have missed it because I don't push to finish grids when I don't have the time (no fun then), and I'm sure I would have remembered it since it's so odd: a compound word.
I'll remember it now, though, for sure. And as you say, it won't ever get used otherwise.
It can also be spelt with a KW i see!
back..cooee zooz and jwr
Teehee that was in yesterdays grid, ((Rose))
yeah, i know, couldn't use it as a greeting
Really? Didn't see that. Probably won't stick though since it doesn't glue together the same words that make it memorable. Sometimes I get such a kick out of babble/ Hi rose. Cooee was yeste -- oops - zooz beat me to it. or "snap" as you say.
We're talking about the SQ, rose. I'm sure you have it.
yes, jwr. it certainly is a weird word
If you go back to 5:11, you'll see what I've been ticked about.
another weird one is the av5
Av 5/16 Rose, that one?
yes, zooz. once you see the definition it makes sense
That's right. I was doing a quick lurk (I call them in-and-outs) earlier when someone made a joke about that one, I think -- about doing it with an American Southern accent.
ah, just checked zooz, no. the av5/20
... yes the 5/20
it's the last of the 5 av's
Ahh ok..just checked the Def..and could not get what you meant...thank you..will look for the AV 5/20
broad definition plane fuel
Yep got it!
also the le7/8 combo was new to me. foliage + era
For piston engines.
also oa5/16. different plural for oa4, thugs
the 7/48 & 8/65? I think that's one of the ones that made jillibus give up in disgust and poof away saying there were too many made-up words in the grid today.
yeah, jwr
there is sa6/7 combo. type of sport, like boxing, using hands and feet

Nope. I can confirm that we have cuppas here. But far mor frequently, we have a dhrop a tay.
a drap, maybe?
who has a drap?
Hello, Soodle :-)
Tea? Is tea some kind of code word for whiskey?
Hi Zooz, Molly, Hursh, & all. :-)
Its complicated. Tea is what you eat, early in the evening - tea-time. Tay , or a dhrop of it is what you drink before drinking time.
Good day to all.
Hi Scrabbler.
Hello, Scrabs.
hi scrabs, soodle, hursh, zooz
Hello, Dawg :-)

Well, looks like the rain has stopped. Back to my outdoor chores. Have a good day all.
His looks inspired me with profound disgust and dislike, which were not at all lessened when I saw him take from the hands of a comrade a black bottle, and applying it to his lips, solace himself with a 'dhrop of the cratur.'
Ah so we are getting the rain from you..thanks a lot..lol...have a good day, Soodle.

Well, my monkey helped.
somehow I got it from that. :)
some examples make cratur a category of illegal home brew
Suspicion hath it that in this neighborhood, in a still wilder and more secluded spot, there was not long ago another kind of "cratur," not at all extinct, but alive with all the fiery headiness of moonshine "old corn" whiskey.
for sure
Yes i have heard of the term 'moonshine'....Sounds like old corn would be strong enough to blow your head off...lol

Good Morning, Everyone! How is the grid today; worth starting (and maybe having time to finish) or a nasty grid?
hi nef ... lots of manufactured and non words as well as obscure foreign ones
Morning Nef- I'm finding it fairly smooth sailing so far
MagMom, that is a really nice picture of you.
*!* ta da *!* - thanks for the help - *@%$#! grid
hmm, one says no so nice; one says fairly easy. I'll just wait and see how many words I spot before I actually do start....
TY Molly.
OK grid - there are considerable non-words, foreign ones, but probably no more than usual considering the size of the grifd
got to run -- back at the flip if I'm still awake
I have to laugh at myself: it seems that I rarely finish a grid anyway lately, so why worry? :-)
it does start out eaily because there are so mqany words available in the grid
Same here Nef. I do what I can, but don't worry about finishing.
unfortunately my aim is to finish
I've got 115 left and have to go get ready for my dad's 81st bday party
what an exciting event - enjoy
Hi Everyone-back to find a few more if I can
ty teach. just doing burgers, cake and ice cream, but I've got to go shopping.
Now that we have our son and family here all the time; I haven't been able to even be here this week. And I'm sure the grandson will be running in soon asking me to "come play" (I'm playing more and not doing things I *have* to do (housework) which is a constant frustration with DIL.
Sounds like fun, magazine mom! I hope it's a great day for him!
ty Nef!
Why is doing housework a constant frustration with your daughter in law?
Nef- enjoy that little guy while you can. Housework can wait!
Because she has *issues* Molly. I don't really want to get started on it. :-(
I think she thinks we aren't clean enough.
I agree magmom.
hi everyone, back for last 61
Oh, sorry Nef.
Nef, she's the one with 'issues' - perhaps she could pitch in and help?
Go, GO flossy! You can do it!!
thanks Nef, need that encouragement today
It would be nice if she stopped making all the nasty comments, flossy.
absolutely! how rude
Wow, if someone is gracious enough to take you into their home, the last thing you should do is make nasty comments about their cleaning habits.
surely she realizes that having them there creates more work
when i was a kid, my father always "cleaned" right after I did. so i stopped cleaning all together
there can't possibly still be 18 words that start with S :-(
hi Dan with such a sweet little daughter
housecleaning is not all that important to me
decent is what i aim for
tx flosey! I blinked and she's starting preschool next month
wow, hard to believe, isn't it
*Cues up "Where Are You Going, My Little One" for 2Bit*
yes, and of course it only gets faster
Aw Dan! She's a cutie. I wish mine were still that age. My oldest started high school yesterday. :(
Mine are all over 21. Now I'm just waiting around for grandkids.

Nef, did you get the word I'm coming to see you? Molly L, I've been trying to get you a messzge. Hello, all.
What is your message?
You said nice things abt my books a while back. If I had your address I'd send you something. my email is jjack1@uis.edu. I'm legit, ask Nef. I'll see her week after next.

hi all.. roundbarn, do you write books? would like to know ... i am a bookaphobic....... i may have read one of yours
or is bookaholic or bookie???????
SMom, if you are a bookie, I need to talk to you about a horse race. : )
hey molly... o don't know nuthin 'bout no hoss racin,,,, heh heh
sammys--look up my websites. roundbarnstories is one with all the latest, beloitcitypress we're just getting going, and my old one is jacquelinejackson, I think--anyway wou'd see me with a goat standing on my back. Most of my childrens books are out of print but available at Amazon and abebooks. One is horrendously expensive, the rest ok. I was second in line for the Newbury for Taste of Spruce Gum. It'ds good reading for adults. The RB books are for adults, use discretion with kids (lotsa sex on a farm). Thanks for asking.
hi redbarn. hello all
help with the sa8 pls
peri, I have something addressed to you--it'll go out Monday. Smile.
Oh, great, I am looking forward to getting it. thanks so much.
round........ amazing coincidence. you mention your book taste of spruce gum........... a few days ago, iwas ranting about my childhood to my great grands and told them about how my dad would cut me plugs of spruce sap for gum when i was a kid in maine
sa8...most brutal
you'll like the book, then--it won the Dorothy Canfield Fisher (A Vermont award)

I'm signing off--belong to a tiny book group, they're meeting here soon--we're discusiing Greengage Summer by Rumer Godden--I'm feeding them blts and don't even have a table. Well, they know that. So, poof.

hi all
hi jmc :-)
*tap tap tap* is this on?
hi diane! :-)
testing, 1, 2, 3, 4,
o goodie it is working!
how have things be going in the chog since i was on break?
I think it's been the norm.... I don't often have chog open though.... I just chime in now and then :-)
i appreciate all chimes!
but not all buzzers
hiya JMC! hi diane
I love the good old fashioned door chimes.... we had very nice old brass ones in the house I lived in , in Victoria. I now just have a buzzer that doesn't work half the time ( remotely activated! )
and we are giving "buzzers" a double meaning here... LOL
Hi lb :-)
ugh my stupid door bell is inside the storm door. . . I can't lock my storm door and i finally put a note on it saying that the bell is inside!
my doorbell is boring. it goes dink don...I think it lost it's g before we moved in. it's really aenemic.
i am thinking about moving it but i am terrified how much it would cost!
i have a really loud one left over from when my hubby was alive since he was so hard of hearing! but i still can't always hear it in the back of the house
Maybe we'll all have to go back to the old door knockers !
you can get a door bell that isn't wired into the house--I think that's the remote one that diane is referring to.
i would never hear that in the back.
the knock that is
you need one like the Addams family...one that screams...or was that young Frankenstein?
stats for the corner N please
And gone are the days when your friends could just stick their head in an unlocked door and say "anybody home?"
ne4.4
the Addams family bell was like a fog horn. . . young Frankenstein had the screaming one
top corner N is ne6.24 and plural
i didn't lock my door until early this year when there started to be a rash of home invasions with people home!
well, either one would get your attention! lol
biab. need to check on hubz.
ty
i will probably stop locking it when the recession is over. . .
stats for the first column E please
I think they are eg5/14 and eg 6/24
hmmm
once I am well on my way with the grid, I'm never sure which is which
haha i know what you mean. . . but some of them can only come from one letter. . .
ty i got nbt from that
good ! everything "came out" okay then ;-)
three more minutes and then i have to go back to being useful. . . having a barbeque tomorrow with about 25-30 people so am cooking up a storm today. . .
i actually could use some babbland advice. . . making a potato green bean salad with a little red onion but i can't decide what to dress it with. . .
sounds ambitious, although when family is all here we have about 25 .... but everyone pitches in with salads, etc.
i used golden and white potatoes . . .it is very pretty
people will bring food. . . even if I asked them not to!
i hope they bring beer...most of the veggies are from my garden so the price is right. . .
olive oil, lemon juice, mustard dressing?
olive oil, a little lemon zest, a light vinegar (white or red wine), salt and pepper
hmmmm..... something light and oily, with a bit of zip. I use Balsamic often.
yum that sounds great. . . and i bought a whole bag of lemons thinking i would make lemonade so it will even be fresh lemon. . .
lemon zest sounds like a good touch too!
i just bought a big jar of dijon mustard. . .
Now my mouth is watering, and I just had a big brunch about 2 hours ago !
toasted almond slivers would be good, too.
its six pounds of potatoes and a couple of pounds of green beans from my garden. . .
Dress it whilst the potatoes are warm, takes the dressing better. Also crispy bacon placed on top is good
i have walnuts. . . pesto making is on the horizon. . . what would you think about walnuts. . .
i second the bacon
alas to many vegetarians among my friends for the bacon. . .which i dearly love!
walnuts can be bitter. but if you like them use them
we are eating our own potatoes and yellow beans at the moment... tomatoes coming at about 5 a day... love the fresh stuff.
potatoes were cooked yesterday so i will have to dress it at room temp today. . ..
my tomatoes are still very small and green. this time last year I had a bounty of lovely red maters.
It sounded colourful and simple the way it was... just choose a nice dressing.
not so much that i like them but they are a cheaper alternative to pine nuts for the pesto
walnuts in pesto...that's doable. lots of parm!
i have had a few tomatoes. . .my sister and another gardener in the community garden have had tons!
i wouldn't do walnuts. Maybe sesame seeds
I've made pesto with cashews too.
yes toasted walnuts with the pine nuts stretches the budget a little. . .
you can also make it with sunflower seeds
pesto, I mean
i saw giada make pesto with toasted walnuts which is what ga** me the idea. . .
my herbs aren't doing well this year either. however, the cilantro is growing like weeds
I think you can make pesto with just about anything.
I've even seen it made without basil
Yes, I've seen it with baby spinach
my greek oregano died. . . but the thyme and rosemary are doing fine. . . and the bay tree is now 20 ft tall!
i am sorry but i think pesto with out basil is depressing. . .
I think pesto without basil isn't pesto. i'd love to have a bay tree. lucky you!
i freeze it for a little summer in the middle of winter. . .
i use my tupperware hamburger patty holders and they hold just enough pesto for dinner for two....
I've put them in ice cube trays and frozen them that way. a couple cubes for dinner.
i tried several times to get my bay tree growing. . . one year i asked my mother for a bay tree for christmas and the boy said "why? you have a 10 ft tall one in the back yard." And sure enough i did! it was hiding behind the butterfly bush!
...same as laurel, right ?
i did the ice cube trays too until i got these hamburger patty holders. . .they stack so nicely in the freezer
yes, bay and laurel are the same.
yes. . .it is a kind of laurel. . .
i cut off branches and sell them for a fundraiser for a scholarship fund at my meeting. . .
i'll have to keep my eyes open for the hamburger patty holders. that sounds like a good idea for other things.
last time i sold them this woman told me that she put several bay leafs in olive oil and roasted them briefly and then roasted potatoes in them. . .sounds great and i would be able to sell more bay leafs!
I only use bay le6/27 in soups and stews.... I guess I should get more adventuresome !
aha.... just saw idea #1 :-)
i got them from a tupperware party years ago but i think you can get tupperware online now
*takes ice tea into pb*
lol
i had never thought of it either but it sounded wonderful!
okay i am off to dress my potato salad with. . . .
olive oil, lemon juice and dijon mustard. . .
and a little lemon zest. . .
yummmm.
And I'm down to 40 words; off to spend some time in the yard and great grand baby is coming over to visit too. I
and start my barbeque sauce for my neighborhood famous ribs. . . and start marinating the tofu. . .
I'll be back to finish later... have a nice afternoon, everyone !
i decided i would rather be tired tonight than tomorrow so i am trying to get a lot of things done today. . .
how nice. . . give the ggbaby a kiss for me!
She's such fun.... just over 2 years old now
bye diane and bye all. . . .203 left. . . *poof*
oooh ggbaby!!

Hello MollyL!How are you doing today? Welcome to the log
Hi Min, I'm good, how are you?
I am well,however, I think I might have gotten a lemon car
Oh no
I just got my car back from Subaru.Subaru had it for over a month trying to fix something. I got it back yesterday only to find out the AC does not work. Bringing it back Monday.
Oh how frustrating.
They had it for a month??? Yikes.
Did the AC work before then?
And Hi Min, Molls :-)
I am wondering how many problems you need to have with a car before it can officially be called a lemon.
Sorry. Hi Bich. :-)
Do some Google research on The Lemon Law, Min.
How old is it Min?
Hi Sood, Min, Molly
Yes,the air conditioning worked just fine before. It's weird.
Is it the same car?
The car six months old. I got the car in March.
The Lemon Law in your State, I meant to say.
New or used?
New, 2013
Definitely lemon law material. Get on their case. I would think it's still under warranty and they should give you a loaner.
They gave me loaner car the whole time they just had car.
I just googled Lemon Law. What a marvelous piece of legislation.
They don't have it in Ireland. Get to work Soods. It's a great cause.
Do they have the lemon law in your country as well Soodle?
No, Min. Here, if you buy a new car & you have tons of problems with, it's called a Monday Car. Meaning it was assembled on a Monday, when the workers were 'below par' . Another example of Irish euphanisms.
I remember the first Toyota we got. It was assembled in Canada and we were so happy that it wasn't a US made car
I like that Monday car.I wonder why they call it lemon here
Think of eating a lemon, it give's you a sour taste
Problem I had was a problem I had NEVER heard of before.
The key got stuck in the ignition and it wouldn't come out.
Subaru's are supposed to last forever. They really should give you a new car.
Still, it must be very frustrating to have bought a brand new car & have so much trouble from it. :-(
Found this on line...It seems most likely that that the use of a ‘lemon’ as a bad car came from another British slang term from the early 1900’s in which “to hand someone a lemon†was "to pass off a sub-standard article as a good one."
Also, the driver's se4/4 got stuck & was impossible to move
It took them a month to replace the ignition? Did they work on it on alternate Mondays?
Oops, sorry molly. for aome reason I thought Minver was you.
Lol Bich!
Hi All
We had two GM cars which were total lemons. After that we only have driven Toyota's
That is really funny bichon! They said when they hooked it up to the computer,it couldn't tell them exactly which part they needed. So they kept ordering the wrong part for it.
Good choice Bichon.
Hi hego
Sounds like a Monday car Min. I'd definitely be demanding a replacement. A Tuesday or Wednesday model.
I would get a Honda or a Nissan, but never an American car. I am patriotic except when it comes to durability
They had to order one of the parts from Japan because it's not sold anywhere in the U.S.Part comes from Japan and it turns out to be the wrong part. So much for technology!
Hello hego! How are you doing today? Welcome to the grid
ty and hi Min.
Don't think that General Motors makes Subarus. I based my decision to get my Subaru after reading Consumer Reports.
We have had our Toyota's forever. I think they may become lifetime cars.
Yes, Subaru's have a great reputation..
My little car is a hyundai. It was making strange noises last week. Usually, when this happens, I turn up the volume on the radio. Sadly, the weird noises got worse. The garage man told me it was on it's last legs. I was gutted. I felt the very same as when the vet told me he was going to have to put my dog down. :-(
awww.........
How many miles on it Soodle? Or Km's?
Bich, I feel the same way about American cars. Been driving Hyundais for 15 years.
Its a 2003 car, with 180 K miles. Its been a reliable, trusty, stalwart little motor, and I mourn it's impending demise.
I also wonder what the heck I'm gonna do when it finally lies down & dies....
Soodle, my last Hyundai lasted over ten years and I sniffed and waved goodbye as they towed it off to the place I donated it.
Our 2001 Corolla has 65 K miles on it. It will be with us forever
Long live Bich's Toyota!
I love "stalwart" to describe a car. It's like it is a relative of The Little Engine That Could. : D
When my Mom stopped driving she gave us her 2003 Toyota Avalon [more upscale]. I think the Corolla outperforms it.
I'm not sure if the names of cars are the same in the US as here. My 'stalwart' little chariot is a Hyundai Accent. My son was horrified when I bought it. A very uncool car. To this day, he refers to it as the Hyundai Accident.
Yes, when we were in Britain this summer the cars had totally different names
Yep, we have Hyundai Accents here. I have an Elantra.
My daughters drove a Hyundai Accent into the ground. Still running well when traded off for the Hyundai Sonata.
My Subaru is the first automatic I purchased.I miss driving a stick. I've always driven a stick shift, but I think stick shifts will soon become obsolete. That's why I got an automatic.
Hello BzznBea! How are you doing today? Welcome to grid.
Hello, Min.
Hi Bea
We're talking cars here.
My son, Paul, (the relative formerly known as Son of Soodle), has a VW golf, but modified. A big vroom vroom exhaust & a dixie horn. I was driving it while my own car was in the repair shop. I bamboozled other 'boy racers'. They saw the souped up car, then when they got alongside, they saw this menopausal woman at the wheel. He he he
He drives a Golf and he was embarrassed about YOUR car??
Oh Molly, modified Golf's are the bizz here.
That's funny : D
Euphemism alert. Before my 'domestic circumstances' changed, I drove a Nissan Navara, & he had a BMW X5. Oooooh, I loved my Navara!
Thinking about dinner...It makes my brain hurt...
Meanwhile, back in the utility room, the washing machine is being hormonal.....
Bzz. We had salmon, new potatoes & fresh garden peas. Yummy & recommended!
Except I don't like salmon. Or have any in the freezer...
Mmm, fresh garden peas.
Okay! So whats inthe freezer?
And I could eat salmon every day if it weren't so damn expensive.
It's not a matter of what is in the freezer. It is a matter of I really don't want to cook or deal with it.
My peas never make it from the garden to the table. I eat them right out in the garden.
Oh, I forgot to say, I made a cheeky little hollandaise sauce to accompany the salmon. Sublime!
Sounds delicious Soodle. My stuffed chicken breasts pale in comparison.
Bzz. I take it you have the number of local take outs? Go for it!
I think we will have chicken salad sandwiches with fresh sliced tomatoes and cottage cheese.
Molly, it was divine!
Bzz, as long as the bread is fresh, those sammidges sound like winners.
Good thing I don't have to decide what to feed the fur kids...Time for their dinner...
I love Salmon, but will eat only wild fish. All this farmed stuff doesn't really tast like fish.
fo 6/27, the first one pls.
That is why I buy my fish at Whole Foods.
fo6...pertaining to unborn, with an extra vowel
TY MOlly
I get mine at Costco. They quite often have wild fish. They actually have wild Haddock and Cod.
I love shopping at Costco. I don't do it often because it's just two of us and I don't have an extra freezer.
After a Costco run, my freezer is bulging. But, I find that for your buck the meat, fish and produce is well worth it.
hi all! We have just found Costco as well - now our shelves are full of gluten-free crackers and our freezer is full of chicken burgers and frozen fruit
I wish I had more freezer room. I have frozen some fresh green beans and some berries while they were a good price this summer. But not as much as I would have liked to.
Hi uusue2! How are you doing today? Welcome to the grid.
hi min, molly, bichon! I am good.
I saw people talking about fish. I had halibut once.I was pleasantly surprised because I thought I wouldn't like it. It was made with squash noodles sweet & sour cabbage.
halibut is a pretty mild fish, I think
I like halibut too, Min.
I also don't like squash or cabbage, but the squash noodles didn't taste like squash.Cabbage didn't taste like cabbage.
Well, that was a pleasant surprise all the way around.
German, low cost, no frills supermarkets have swept across this country. Lidl & Aldi. People are aaving upwards of €40 per week on their grocery shopping.
'Savind'
'Saving' even!
we have Aldis here
And is Aldi significantly cheaper, Peri?
it seems to be, there is not one near me so I don't get there often. We also have Bottom Dollar, Price Right and some lower places that are supposed to be less money
I have been to all of them. it is good if they have what you want. not many options tho
this grid is endless
16 left, bbs
Our Aldi's is neat and clean with nice restrooms. But the best is their cheese. We always get interesting cheeses for our gatherings.
Cheese, frozen vegetables, toilet paper, herbs , spices, fresh fruit & veg, wine (don't forget the wine), all top quality.
I don't like their personal hygiene producy
I wish, Soodle, but no wine at Aldi's in Maryland! But everything else, you are spot on.
....products like shower gel, shampoo & conditioners
Agreed.
Hi Deutsch! How are you doing today? Welcome to the grid
I bought a bottle of wine in Aldi yesterday for €3.99. I think it may be very low alcohol content, but, hey! It's wine!
nbt finally
I'm doing great, Min! Hi everyone else, too!
Hello harpjane! How are you doing today? Welcome to grid
good minver, thanks
hello everyone
Hello Anniebrook! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
HI Min, Im doing okay and hope you are too
It took me ag4/6 just to find 198 words today. I am not going to accomplish the fe4/7 of finishing grid. I ga4/9 up on grid so here is a story with clues.I ha4/5 flying on airplanes. I ha4/8 not done a va4/7 amount of flying in my life. When I was a te4/4ager I flew out to the ea4/4 coa4/4 to visit my friend in California. It was the worst experience of my life. Things got quite te5/10. I wasn't able to fly with ea 4/4 because the airplane had engine failure. When plane st 4/4ted to go down, stewardesses sugge4/6ed everyone to fa 6/27 their se 4/4 belts. The plane descended very quickly. As we were going down, I realized the plane wasn't going to make it to its ga4/7. As I grabbed my oxygen ge 4/6, te 4/4s were streaming down my face and I thought this is my fa 4/7. I was not meant to live long. I prayed that an angel with a ha4/5 would sa4/7 everyone on the airplane. I think someone heard my prayers because as we got ne 4/4 the ground, the pilot was able to land this plane sa 4/7ly. That was the la4/4 time I ever flew on an airplane. I ha 4/8 tried to er5/10 the memory of that flight, but I can't.I'm now a fe 6/27 of flying and I fe4/7 airplanes. I will never go on a plane ever again. It is a good thing I don't ea4/4 a living as a traveling sa 4/4s person. Husband wants the computer. I am going to give it to him before he begins to ra 4/4 and ra 4/7. I am going to le 5/16 Babbleland now and go watch the film The Fa 4/7 and the Furious. By the way,my ta4/4 is not true.I will be back la4/4r on tonight to chat w/others & to help out with more clues.
I saw Blue Jasmine today. I thought it was very good
Another awesome story Min. Thank you. :-)
picked up a few words, thanks Min and I loved your story
Hello everyone. Min was that a story or an experience? Am i allowed to ask?
Hi onyx. At the end of Min's story she says the ta** is not true
hey all
Hi stid :) How are you?
good, Annie, thanks. You?
Im okay..enjoying the nice weather we are having
:-) We were overcast today, so it's a bit muggy, but not hot as I had feared it might be.
How is the new house coming along?
the plumber was there today laying the pipes. Then I think the reinforcements go in and then I think he puts the pex tubing for the heat (or maybe he'll lay the pex tomorrow and then they reinforce after?). He says they will be able to pour the slab sometime next week. I am so excited!
thanks for asking. :-)
the blackberries are ripe, every time I go home I leave with purple fingers and a full tummy.
stid, that is exciting!
Will you be in the house for Thanksgiving?
need clue for has 5/12 and 6/21 fter ring around your head
yep. and now the sun is coming out and the warmth is making the wind blow a bit. I can tell because it's whistling through a window....
that should have been just ha
matches...rearrange the letters of the ring....and then drop the plural letter
Then you will have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
I just started so Im no help
rearrange the plural rings...
no, I don't expect to be able to move in much before February or so.
Stid, but you will be moving into a new house.
Yes, and as finished as I can afford. I was trying to set things up for some pretty specific enhancements like a lateral drain in the master shower, but the best I will be able to do for now is pretty standard stuff. I just can't afford $500 just for a drain when a normal $35 one will do!
$500 seems like a lot of money for a drain.
But it is interesting to look at what is available and talk to people who have actually installed things to help me decide if they work or just look good.
LOL that's what I thought! I would rather spend that money on a better range for the kitchen.
se 6/24, pls
Not that I have that money right now... but someday.
Stid, that's where Iwould put my money, in the kitchen
sorry, bichon....i don't have that one
I don't have it either, bichon, sorry -- I am totally at a loss for some of these!
ty penquis got them

I am having a very busy month so far. I went to Vermont at the beginning of the month. La 4/4 week I went to a two day educational conference and a workshop & next week I have a week of workshops in Yonkers. Still don't know what or where I will be teaching this year though.

Anniebrook, we must try to get together sometime. It is my lifelong dream to meet at le5/10 one babbler.Work in Yonkers,so maybe we could meet each other halfway one day after work. How far do you live from Yonkers?
Thanks to all of you. I'm down to 3 now.
Go gapeach go!
About an hour and a half
keep plugging, peach!
Really, I did not realize it was that far away from Yonkers.
I am at the tail end of Brooklyn near the ocean
Annie, one of my sons-in-law was brought up in Brooklyn (I know that is such a small community, LOL) his last name was Olsen.....he would be about 77 now.....
I guess I should have asked how long have you lived there.
peach, I dont know him but by his last name I am guessing he lived in Bay Ridge
I grew up in Manhattan and when I married I lived in Manhattan for a short time then we moved to Brooklyn. I have lived in Bklyn for over 50 years.
Do you see many plays?
I used to go all the time but now I am very close to 80 years of age so it is hard for me to get into the city.
The last play I saw was Jersey Boys and I loved it
I've been there (briefly) once. Would have loved to see some plays....lived in Norwich, CT for 7 years....but had had two small strokes and it was just too much trouble to get into the city.
I could understand how difficult that would be. My daughter lives in CT. You must have been very young when you had the strokes/
I bet it was good. I've seen some in Atlanta at the Fox....saw Yul Brynner in "The King and I" and several others.
LOL. I saw Yul Brynner on Broadway (a hundred years ago)..Wasn't he marvelous?
I was 62. I was lucky.
Indeed, he was.
Yes, thank goodness. You were lucky. Glad you are here to babble.
How long are you living in Georgia?
I think it is Georgia?
Due to Elder Abuse, I had to move back to GA in 2009. If I had not left there, I do not believe I would be here to Babble....LOL
Oh my God. very glad you escaped that horror.
I left KY in 1977 and came to Augusta, GA and lived here until the strokes in 2002.
Oh, where in CT does your daughter live?
She lives in Wilton. peach, I am glad you are safe.
Thanks, Annie, it was a horrible time.
I can't imagine it. but you are here now.
I was trying to look up Wilton, but the print is so small in my Atlas.....just wondered if it was near Norwich.
peach, I dont know where Norwich is but Wilton is sort of near Westport
and its nearer to Norwalk
Wilton is about 75 miles from Norwich.
I don't think it is near Norwich.....not too much is, really. It was chosen because it is half way between each of their work places.
so Norwich is north of Wilton
Which way, Molly?
peach, it was nice chatting with you. I hope all your days are peaceful and full of babble. I'm going to do some reading and then to bed. gnite.
Wilton is SW of Norwich.
gnite everyone and have sweet dreams
OK, thanks Molly.
Sweet dreams to you too, Anniebrook.
What a lovely lady.
I need to check my blood sugar....brb
Wilton is down by Greenwich, if you know where that is.
Goodbye Anniebrook! I'll see you tomorrow in the chat log,
And yes, Annie is top shelf. : )

hi gail, how ya doin?
Okay, getting over gall bladder surgery.
oh dear, hope you get well soon!
hello all, just got back from an afternoon of white water rafting. It was fun.
Oh, thanks, I am doing fine. Rafting sounds good.
Hello again Everyone. Dear little Grandson is totally tuckered out and his Daddy is putting him to bed.... :-) Grandma & Grandpa are probably as tired but we get to zone out a bit before going to bed.
hi...
Hello Nef! How are you doing today? Welcome to the chog.
Hello Gail! How are you doing today? Welcome to the grid.
Get Well soon, Gail. I understand that gall bladder surgery has changed drastically in the past 15-20 years....
Hello phandmd! How are you doing today? Welcome to grid
May I have a clue for the TR 6/30, please?
I am pretty tired, Min, from that rafting trip.
It was very simple surgery, although my surgeon said mine was almost too full of stones to get out through that little hole. He said it was like delivering a baby and it just finally popped out.
both fascinating and gross, lol
I went white water rafting once in my life. It was in Maine.
This was my 2nd time, the 1st time was years ago in NC. This time was on the Potomac.
When I went it was years ago. All I remember is that it was very cold and I was shivering alot! Hope it wasn't cold for U
It wasn't too bad. The best part was that I didn't end up falling out of the boat as I did the last trip!
the Potomic has white water? (Can you tell I've only been out east a few times?
class 1-3 rapids.
so does no one have the TR 6/30?
Sorry phanmd. I do not have the tr6.I quit after 198 words.
i don't have the tr6,30 either, but i hunted for it a little when you asked 8-)
well, thanks for looking Gwen. :)
i just might list soon, down to 85 to go
I'm still looking. I haven't listed (haven't even found 100 words yet); but how hard can it be?
trick question!
will I am down to 54 words left.

I'm well, nef. kid is finally rid of the twit girlfiend. How're you? How's DH?
DH is doing okay. We are a bit stressed due to son and DIL now living here (with our darling Grandson, of course!). DIL makes things really tense
that is a shame, Hef.
opps, sorry, Nef...
fe 8?
I'm so glad he's done with her. How is he paying off his phone bill? (I think I last chatted with you the day or week he found out she was crazy)

That is tough work, jes. Did that pay it off?
yeah, gramma paid him for the hay, and then he handed the money back for the phone bill
LOL!! I hope that that taught him a lesson!
thanks, Penquis
me too! he never did get his phone back from the twit though

she had the gall to show up at my clinic last week, looking for him. said they weren't done. I said "you aren't done? you broke up with him. you broke up with him in a horribly rude and inconsiderate way, posting pictures of yourself kissing another guy and declaring your engagement to him on facebook. you ARE DONE, that's what 'broke up' means.
OMG!!! What kind of an idiot is she? I hope he wasn't there
she (again, of course) accused me of not being a good parent, and not actually caring for the kid, and being selfish, and asked what happened to being supportive of him. I think she was a bit taken aback when I said "You. YOU are what happened to being supportive. You with your lies, you with your threats, you with your manipulation. YOU are what happened." Then she threatened to call the cops if I wouldn't let her speak to him. I laughed at her, wished her luck with that, and told her to leave my business and not return.
Lucky for her, she did, or I would have offered her the phone to talk to the cops, so she could explain why she was trespassing, harassing and threatening me, and interfering with my business.
down to 10 left, gonna throw in the towel and go to bed. Peace out.
Yay for Jes! I would have appluaded had I been there
Helo Nef and Jes & bye Phand
g'nite, phan...
he wasn't working that day, so no, he wasn't there. but he'd witnessed her crazy directly the weekend before, when we were all in town and she started calling his dad's phone and swearing incoherently at him. Asked him why he called her ("i didn't"), then accused him of fucking her ("I didn't do that either"). he hung up on her, she called back and swore at him some more, so he hung up on her again.
she CALLED BACK (this was on speaker phone so the kid heard both sides) and Bruce asked if she was drunk. She (and the person in the background) started giggling uncontrollably and then she managed to get out "i'm not <i>drinking</i>" and went back to giggling. Bruce asked if she was high, which was just met with more giggles.
Then she asked if he knew who she was, and he said he only knows one 14 year old stupid enough to get high and call him, and hung up on her again.
She called back twice more, but he ignored both calls. Kid was mortified.
g'night, phand. hi, lynxxxx.
WOW! She's dumber than a brick! And I wrote a long response, but in the wrong box and messed up when I tried to copy and paste it <shaking head slowly>
hi lynxxx.
Yeah, she's really super-special. Why are son and DIL living with you?
I'm going to give you a standing ovation for your response to her when she was in your clinic though. THAT was beautiful!!! (I only come up with responses like that after I'm asleepthe night afterwards....)
oh, i came up with several things i missed after she left - like i didn't start the conversation off with 'did you come to return the kid's phone?"
I think I would have a small recorder around for an possible future conversations and tell her that you will be sending it to her parents or the police
I think I would have a small recorder around for an possible future conversations and tell her that you will be sending it to her parents or the police
I think I would have a small recorder around for an possible future conversations and tell her that you will be sending it to her parents or the police
(sorry - finger remained on enter too long)
oh, her parents wouldn't give a crap, lynxxx. her dad is not in the picture at all (she claims she's never even met him), and her mother is an apathetic, drug-addicted drunkard who's already had custody of all her kids taken away.
the kids live with the mother's mother, who is seriously lacking in both intelligence and spine, and lets the twit order her around and run the household. mother also lives there, but spends most of her time locked in her bedroom ignoring the kids.
it's a...great... household.
sad...and for her too I guess...hope something happens in the future that will get her out of the rut
it is not difficult at all to work out why the twit is as pushy, manipulative, and drama seeking as she is. but that doesn't mean I want her shit in my life.
'the kid' is your son?
My son was laid off with 1/3 of the salaried company back around Halloween, and he had vacation and sick time through Jan. 1, then severance pay and benefits through April 30th. DIL is bipolar and during her last manic phase (in April) she took out 4 credit cards and maxed them out (around $10,000 or more, neither will tell us the whole amount). Our son was working way above his education after 9 years at his former workplace and he didn't have the certifications necessary to be hired at the level he was used to working at. He's taken a bunch of courses through a state program and now has all of the certifications done; he's been doing 2 free lance jobs and is applying for permanent positions; but the $$$ isn't there to pay off her debts too.
my step son, bruce 2 (called 'the kid' to differentiate him from bruce)
ah, that's rough, nef
Can you get a restraint order on hrr
Her
Very rough Nef, great you can help them out
hi Ru
if she shows back up, i may have to, ruru. we're hoping she will go away (the latest crap on her facebook claims she's moving across the state, but she's notoriously untruthful)
Restraining order I me
I want to divorce her myself; I've asked our son if he still loves her and his answer was "which one?"
Mean
having keyboard issues, ru? :D
aw - thats kinda sweet
ruru, are you having trouble typing or talking tonight?
Cell phone...hard to type
I've got a bi-polar uncle who purchased a 747 on his amex once.
cell phone? are you on ypour holiday?
Plus we had a lot of wine ...
lol Joso - really!?
oh, my, joss! What happened?
hah. you need a hand for the wine glass, so don't have extra fingers for the typing?
yes, for a weekend junket because he couldn't get enough tickets for all his friends to vegas
(Dang Spellcheck!) sorry, joso
Wow how is that possible joso?
did he buy a pilot too, or did he expect to fly it himself?
sold it back at a loss, still cost 10's of thousands.
BRB, dog is barking outside and I need to go get him.
the last st 6/27 plz
amex used to be that way, and he was a good earner, used to be an supervising engineer at various middle east oil projects.

the thing to do is sever financial connections, companies try to say you are responsible for spousal debt but it is not true.
thanks
unless you co-sign
depends on the state you live in, joso. washington is a 'community property' state, so any debt or assets accrued after marriage are shared.
keep hubbies money separate, she can declare bankruptcy separately. this used to be true, but the financial firms have jury rigged so much of the system in the states that I don't know if it is still possible.
then get divorced and live in sin, continue to live together and love each other but get the finances separated. must remember it is a chemical imbalance of the brain, truly not her fault, support can help, and tinkering with doses and drugs have a good chance of sorting it out over time, but be ready for a wild ride, and take practical steps.
joso, MN is like Washington state. They are married; it's considered community property and debt.
joso, they've been married almost 5 years and I don't know how my son has stayed with her this long. I truly think heshould be nominated for sainthood.
tr6/30 clue please?
(BTW, jes, the 11 lb dog has treed something in the backyard again. Either a raccoon or a huge cat; couldn't tell in the dark)
I am wondering if there is not some legal way out of her debts (and any future ones) considering her illness?
Worth talking to a lawyer or accountant, I have heard of men putting stuff in wife's name when going bankrupt to keep things. A pro's advice can be very helpfull.
heh. he'd best mind the 'coons. They can do some serious damage if they decide not to run.
tr6, tr4 + sound of satisfaction **
thanks, joso!
tr4" + what the doctor makes you say when he looks down your throat"
My husband went bankrupt several years ago but my assets/debts/earnings were not taken into consideration (and our home was in my name beforehand)...maybe the rules are different in Australia
the rules are different even between states in the States, guys... options will really depend on where they declared residence at the time the debt was racked up.
in the US, a lot of states have different laws than others. SO it all depends on where you live I guess.
TY for the throat one
It's hard to keep up with the state's fiscal laws, I know cc debt no longer goes away with bankruptcy, and student debt is also very sticky now, lobbies are steadily sticking it to the average joe.
DIL hasn't worked in 5 years; I doubt if she can live on her own at this point because of her crazy thinking. I wish she'd stop using the internet because she goes to all the "Ntural" sites instead of using it to help herself. She won't stay on her meds and she gets all sorts of weird ideas from her on-line "friends"
sounds familiar, seems to be a strong desire to deny your mind is working against you, Uncle joe used to get on an even keel, then after 3-4-5 years stop taking the meds, believing himself cured. The lows can be bad too, not believing it is worth getting up for anything, staying in the same chair for days regardless of the need for food or the call of nature.
but rosehip tea ain't going to get the job done.
Evening all :) Can I get a clue for fo 6/27? It's my last F word. Thanks.
butbutbut don't you know that modern medicine is poison?! they use CHEMICALS!
hi boat :)
But she has a habit of making nasty remarks that cut to the quick and I've become super sensitive to her nasty cuts about my housekeeping and cleanliness. I keep a neat house, but she's always complaining about my "clutter" and "all the dust and cat hair" around. I thoroughly vacuum once a week and I run my Roombas 1-2 times a week; but she is always talking about how dirty my house is (and my grandson has repeated it too)
hi jesd :)
tell her she's welcome to mop the kitchen and wash the dishes any time she feels like it?
fo6-27 to do with babes in womb
fo 6/27 is another word for an unboarn child (alt spelling) and of 6/27 is a type pf vitamin that pregnant women need to take
Ah, got it. Thanks all :)
i need a beatin' with the clue stick - what gets added to the tree's greenery to make the le7 and 8?
jes, the first 3 days they were here I called the cops because I couldn't stand her continual fighting. The woman officer told her that if she sees something dirty, she should clean it herself; and that she needs to go to the Dorothy Day Center with the officer to see what happens when you don't have relatives that care about you.
For the le7/8, add how old someone is.
hah. nice :)
It's a disease that is rough on all around the victim, bitching about whatever is minor, if you want to try to reason with her work on the meds routine, getting counseling (for all).
thanks, boa!
yw :)
did you know her before this kicked in nef, if so try to remember her, the true DIL. And remember I am an amature with some first hand experience, talk to a pro.
You know, joso, you have a good idea there. I think the counseling is the right plan.
As far as what and why this all started; I really believe that she did well til she got pregnant and went off her meds. *I* think she went through some peri/post partum depression; she has been in denial about that for years; but in April (when she was hospitalized) she said she thought that may have been the start of this.
Can I get a clue for ga 6/24 please?
You are not the first person to deal with this, tap that knowledge. A chat group of people in a similar situation can guide you to all sorts of help, and let you vent to those who understand. Babble is one of the kindest places I know, but talking to those who truly understand because they are dealing with the same thing is also good.
(I didn't know her before she was pregnant)
ga6/24 Ben Affleck's wife Jennifer

Ah! Thanks Une :)
yw :-)
a good chat group will have recommendations of good counselors and programs vs quacks and money grabs too.
first fe8 please?
I work with a woman psychologist and will ask her for recommendations (she works as a social worker/counselor with our young women

No wonder I couldn't find it, I normally spell that with a v NOT singular + s.
firewords! last word ga6/24 to gather
i don't think it's actually a plural, i think it's a verb form.
the bush le5 out in the springtime.
Yay, pida 1!!! WTG!!!.
Ah, I see jes.
YAY JES!
YAY pida!

YAY, jes!!! WTG!!!

hey all
hi stiddy!
:-) good to see you jes
is piggy happy in her new home?
Second ne 5/10 please?
i assume so, i haven't heard from them. but it looked like a really nice place
ne5/10 is a card game. 3 consonants together at the end.
nef, I just wrote you. I see you're telling abt things here--I too advise counseling. FOR YOU and FRANK. Sje herself will prob resist it, as Demi did, and I have close friends with two bipolar sons--one is doing well, the other refuses help and raises hell.
I'm not getting the card game.
start at the ne, drop to the bottom line and go straight back to the left
it's the N on the right, boatierra -- and it sounds like fred and ethel me*** (Lucy's neighbor's on the TV show)
hi Round Barn. First day all week I've had a chance to catch up on emails and Babble. :-)
Ah, got it. Thanks guys :)
I definitiely will seek counseling to deal with this; I believe in it and we've done it before. Whether she goes or not is another story.
even if she doesn't, it can help you stay on the level - mom got a lot of benefit from talking to a counselor when dad was depressed and he never could be convinced to go
Nef, just read back in the archives. **surrounding Nef with love**
yes; I know it helps. Both of our kids are ADHD and I made us all go back then and all of us now look back and agree it helped. (At the time our kids hated going though)
St 6/27 and st 7/40 please?
lay a swath of bullets, boa
swath of buttets???
thanks, stid. I really didn't want to talk about it; but it's been a long day I guess. Sorry Everyone (for hogging chog)
no hogging :-) lets us know how to support you. thanks for the bullets, boatierra!
Ah, got it jes :)
you have not hogged, nef, we want to support you!
there's another st 6 27--the rings that go around a wood silo--or a barrel
Was looking for the 6/7 combo, jes got it :)
