Thanks much, 'm dear.
np's peach. and how are you today?
Depressed.
Hope you are not.
awwww, would a hug help? what has happened, dear?
Yep, a hug would help. I'm just down about my niece. She will have 9 weeks of chemo and then the doctor will say whether or not the proton beam would help.
She's trouper, tho, Rose. This is the 4th time she's had cancer. Sounded "up" when I spoke with her, but that is her way.
How are you feeling today?
goodmorning all, please can i have a clue for the U and for the I in the 4th row
Sorry, jenny, don't have it yet.
il 4/4 i think
ul5/14 and plural
thanks ursh
Now I have nbt but need 7 and 8 for nbs
id5/12 is when something is perfect and id8 is a person who wants it to be perfect

judo and karate are ma***** arts
now i have nbs and nbt thank you
good morning all
there you go jenny
hello sprite
hi ursh :)
Good morning, spritl. Hope all is well with you.
hi peach :) Yes, I am ok. And you?
apologies peach. have been on the phone with my vicar. she visited don this AM, and had heard i wasn't well also.
Oh, I'm OK. Just a little depressed about my niece....But I think that is to be expected.
hi rose, good to see you. How is Don and how are you?
yes, very normal and healthy to feel sad about that, peach. *hugs*
Thanks you, sprite.
peach...{{hugs}} and {{kisses}} and prayers that you find peace. am holding your niece, was it susie? in my prayers also
Rose, how is your mother-in-law?
Yes, Rose. Thanks you so much.
sprite, don much better. off oxygen, and they hope to start oral hydrocortisone tomorrow. if he stays good on that he will come home the next day.
ah that sounds good, rose. Am so glad. And how are you doing?
MIL remains well on the road to recovery. redness and swollen leg much less.
i went out to the pharmacy and got some cough mixture, which breaks up the phlegm and dries the nose. also making sure i take meds for temperature regularly.at least i can breathe now.
ok, that doesn't sound too bad then. Good for you! *sending a busload of helping angels to rose*
Bless your heart, Rose. You all are in my prayers.
we have a strong prayer circle going.
Dogs need to go out....brb
ok peach, see you soon
thanx friends....am resting as much as possible. am visiting don twice/day.
very taxing, visiting in hospitals. But good about the resting. Allowing the body to heal :) *hugs*
and you, sprite? how's the BSL today? and how are you emotionally?
bsl was 10 this morning. 5.9 yesterday afternoon. Emotionally I am shaky. Very nervous about the intake Tuesday, also looking forward to it. The boy is behaving very well atm.
maybe he has had a bit of a fright himself? and i'm sure the BSL will drop as you start your days activities. hang in there, dear. you will win this time.
:) Thank you rose!
where is our little pug?
probably lurking.....here pugs, come and get your shmackos....
tried to find her on Daily Strength, that website she referred me to. Hope I have the right person, lol.
I'm back. Sprite, I haven't seen Pug since the flip and I don't know whether she was on earlier grid....I didn't finish the last one. Hope she is OK.
wb peach! I hope so too.
I saw her yesterday morning, on the grid before this.
hey i have found a bonus with himself not here. i get to choose the tv programs i want to watch. small consolation really, would rather have him home with me. ;(
hi all
hi joso! *hugs* How are you today?
hey ya joso
Hey there, joso.
very small, rose, but still a consolation. And I am pretty sure, if you really want to watch something, you are perfectly able to do so even with Don present ;)
hey peach, rose, sprite
yeah, i know, but am mindful that tv is one of his fave past-time. i try not to spoil that.
yes, joso, your harem is here...lol
ah, the bond girls, joy bliss
same here for my love, rose. He relaxes best with TV on, headset with music on his ears, and computer on. I relax best in silence and without tv or music on. So I usually leave him in peace ;)
just our pug missing, joso
*chuckling*
and dear sprite is a perfect description of me also. no wonder we understand each other so well.
thats odd, she is normally the most reliable member of this crew
:) Two pages from the sa4 book, you and me, rose
indeed, joso. Perhaps she managed to sleep really well this night?
i think she said yesterday she was going to be busy for a few days,.
finnaly a cool night perhaps
could I please have a clue for the last me6/24 and 7
oh ok, then all is well. As long as she is just busy and otherwise well.
don't have them yet, sorry ursh
ursh, sounds like someone who interferes. me*icine + a ***k is a bird which sings beautifully
or me + face of clock, and plural
thanks, rose
and for goodness sake...my psycho canary has just burst into full song...problem it is pitch dark....i thought birds went to bed at sundown...lol
roflol, silly canary. I love their singing.
Do you cover his cage, Rose?
brb, going to cover his cage...maybe he will get the message...

thanks for clues that gave me fireworks

congrats ursh
Thank you joso.
thanks, joso! How are you doing? Still swimming?
not today, but generally yes
good! I remember, Sunday is gaming day for you.
My "children" are demanding my full attention now. It is getting close to 5:00AM here.....guess I'll start getting ready to try to sleep. I really enjoy the chats we have. Blessings, y'all.
have a lovely, peaceful sleep, peach. *hugs* to you and yours.
sleep well, dearest peach
g'night peach, reast easy
name that proper noun, one of the sweetest characters from Sesame Street.
hmmmm, can't see kermit....
elmo
and miss piggy is definitely not sweet...
dingdingding joso!
hehehe no, miss piggy is awesome.
well, gee, thanx, joso....
you leave my ding-a-ling be sprite, you are a married lady

OMG, SPRITE....absolutely....
reading too much ruru, from sesame st. to inuendo in one easy step ;)
*giggle* There's babble chog for you.
and you did it so well, joso
and you did it so well, joso
darn....
reminds me of Lickety. When he had to change the automatic output of his li4 program, he said he was adjusting his package. And I offered to do it for him.
stivky key rose
*sticky
nah, joso, i have twitchy muscles....every now and again fingers develop a life of their own. *sigh*
*hugs rose*
what a pain in the butt, still rather have that than any brain problems, and we both know you are sharp as a tack... in a few ways
sharp but loving
Hey rose, did not mean to offend, sorry if I have
Hi all :)
don't think you have to worry, joso, you didn't offend her.
hi Liz! :) *hug*
How're things going Sprite?
hi liz, hows life
If you don't mind me asking?
Great thanks joso.
Hope all's good with you too.
relatively well, Liz. Boy is behaving, sugar is reacting to the medicines, and intake clinic is nearing. Am nervous but ok. And how are things with you?
don't mind at all, I really appreciate how you guys care about me and mine.
all is fine here liz
Day of Atonement now over - lucky for me, I don't find fasting difficult but it's always good when it's over!
well done, Liz. I think it is a beautiful rite.
Did the meeting go well last week, Sprite?
nothing spices up food like a good apatite
And boy I ate a lot last night!
yes, it did. We managed to agree on some basic rules for the week to follow. Then, walking to the car, I tried to reach out to Tim and he reacted very well and open. And when he came home, he made up with his sister.
roflol Liz, I bet!
Making up with his sister is very good - after what happened but I'm also glad you were able to reach out to him.
yeah... we all try, we are all willing. I guess that means we will work this out in time.
Was so hungry - went to a communal "breaking the fast meal" but had to wait so long for the meal that I pigged out on bread!
I really hope so - keeping you in my thoughts!
*grin* just the smell, isn't it Liz... drives one crazy when hungry.
thank you :)
In London, many years ago, there was a bakery next door to the synagogue! That was a laugh!
omg that is evil. That smell is so irresistable.
hey liz, do you know if jewish diabetics get a pass on fasting?
Human life always comes first - if you need to take medicine you do and there are guidelines for different medical conditions.
joso, you didn't offend me, mate. just had a phone call from a friend concerned re don and myself. she likes to chat...
E mailed you just now Rose.
thanx liz
already thought it was something like that. Real life interfering with your babbling.
Not enough e's in this grid!
I thought it unlikely, was a light jab, and you normally just bite back
that is one thing I love about the jewish faith. The human factor is so strong. And the fact they recognise everyone has his/her own relation with G*d.
I like that too and the fact that I'm able to choose my own path!
thx liz, idle curiosity scratched
np - always happy to answer questions - not that I'm an expert!
exactly! It feels so right to me. If you can't define G*d, how on earth can you define the road towards Him?
I try to be consistent in what I do and where I draw my line and if others don't like it, so be it!
ok, not a rabbi, but I thought you would know a bit more about it than I, and i ras right. like being right, very fond of it
I like that, Liz
lol! Def not a rabbi!!!
joso, you are used to it, of course.
Just traditional in many ways!
of course, a legend in my own mind
grin, reminds me of how my kids always tease me, about my books... they say their mom is worldfamous in our street.
books, have you written books sprite
yes joso, two published. But no bestsellers, lol.
Wow! Good for you sprite - fiction?
in dutch I guess
yes, fiction. Spiritual fantasy. And yes, al4 in dutch. Have been trying to translate, but need someone who will critically correct all my dutch-isms and stilted phrases.
Time for dinner - enjoy your days :)
enjoy, Liz!
yahoo...sign i am on the mend....instead of coughing i just sneezed in my usual way. sprite i told you my immune system was good...
liz, answered your email.
oh wow, rose, you SO rock. Am so glad. Was worried.
man that is something, what is the plot of one of them sprite?
good news rose, more power to you
it is about a woman who is cast out of her community for being 'different'. She has had a traumatic childhood. She is taken out of her isolation by being abducted by another people, a species that can fly. They make use of their psychic powers: Earth power, Feel power and Mind power. She finds her place among them and makes them realise there is also something like Soul power.
joso: this is book 1: http://tinyurl.com/qdnfpuk
very cool sprite, you never fail to impress me. is 43 euro a normal price for a book in the netherlands
red boxes here...am i getting through...

Thy will be done. Having prayed that he may rule us, we pray that we may in every thing be ruled by him. What more is there to say?
not a lot, BR. thanx for your words.

sorry red boxes and babble fits
joso: no, that is probably the problem. It is expensive for a book.
hi pug! Pug, I sent you a friend request on DS, at least I hope it is you. Same name as here?
o-o, good to see you
If still here, hi-Rose,Sprite and Joso
yay, we are back...

gosh, these guys butts in their leathers...makes me wish i was 40 years younger...
ok, as long as I have the right person there, it doesn't matter :D Take your time.
I spent all day with friends at a huge flea market and guess what I bought? NOTHING! lol
lol pug :) Nothing to your liking?
not really, himself is enough to make this ol' heart beat faster...lol
dress him in leather and have a ball, rose
well sure Sprite but too much money-lol and my lordy there were so many people!
Is Don home
Is Don home
hehehe sounds like a place I would pay to avoid. Can't handle crowds.
hi again, have things smoothed out
no pugs, they are commencing him on oral meds tomorrow. if he continues to improve, then he may come home in 2 days.
joso, still a red box every now and again...
back again! babble is really being a brat this morning
yeah, pugs...am watching the motor-cycling races at the same time.
ok, I give up, g'nite to any who get this
bye Joso--having trouble too
babble is just now letting me put down words
night, joso. have a good one, mate
pugs, can i help you with the big ones?
How was your day,Rose
I just now got started Rose due to red boxes and freeze ups
quietish, dear. visited don in hospital twice...not much else.
Iam glad that you seem to have shook off the cold--thank God
My headach is wavering away--I dont know why I always get one from sleeping
a quiet day is nice now and then. Its been awhile since you've really had one, hasent it?
pugs, got myself some cough linctus, and keeping up my tablets for the fever regularly. have been sneezing...normal for me...not coughing very much.
yeah, pugs. usually on the go, go, go.
Iam so glad and I know you are.Thats the last thing you needed!
did we lose Sprite and Joso and O-O?
when I see o-o (I think of owl eyes-lol)
If still here o-o, dont mean any harm towards you
BR is always here...he is our guardian. sprite, i think she tired of the red boxes...and joso definitely gave up and left.
oh, wow!!! you should have seen the over-take which just happened...these kids have nerves of steel...
you got your fws
what kind of racing is it? cross-country or hill or track?
hehehe sounds like a place I would pay to avoid. Can't handle crowds.
darn. stupid red boxes.
yes, love. have FW's. watching the motor-cycle racing, on san marino track. italy i think, as it's rossi's home track.
yahoo Sprites back---I was having alot of trouble too
hi dear friends, cyber gremlins are messing up our chat today
the big boys race next...on 800cc bikes.
Is there a big storm near the server today? My game's running really slowly x
there for awhile it wouldnt even let me put down words
yeah, lost babble two times in a row too
worzel, if there is, it is effecting us all over the world...
Ive had to type the same words three times
ty rose xx
my gosh....what an amazing race....another over-take where there shouldn't have been room for one.
lol, I so enjoy your enthusiasm, rose
hmmm, ant west in 12th...not bad....
yeah me too! I bet she thinks she on the back of one-lol
sprite, if you could only see this...it's nail-biting...
*sigh* wish i was...
but not at these speeds.
and they lean so far over....their knees are on the ground....
at the flea-market they had this man with a chainsaw carving figures and stuff out of logs--he done amazing works
pugs, on our last cruise, the chef carved a sculpture out of ice, started with a chainsaw...it was fascinating to watch...
oh I bet!
where did you sail to
in about 10 minutes you are goona lose me. motoGP will be on...will be interesting to see how valentino rossi goes, as this is his home crowd.
new zealand, pugs. it was incredible.
*hugs rose* No imitating rossi on the back of the couch, you hear.
awww, spoil sport...lol
okay Rose. if I lose you then hugs and sleep well
:)
good one Sprite!
someone has to tell you now that Don isn't there to keep you nominally sane
*giggle* and just who do you think is on the back of the couch with me???? huh??
the cat?
right now? Dust bunnies, imaginary friends and pink elephants.
nooo, guess again...
*chuckling* sprite....
more important Dont Fall Off!
argh, red boxes!
is the motor-cycling races not televised in your respective countries?
as I said: and make sure you are wearing a helmet. And knee braces. Oh wait... you already are wearing one of those...
I think it is, rose. But I don't watch. Too noisy and way too scary with all those accidents.
maybe it would be a good way for you to learn how to distance yourself....just a thought...
lol
*giggle* besides the big bikes aren't as noisy as the other 2 races. those sound like angry mosquitoes.
*grabs swatter*

{{sprote}}
how goes it?
hiya ruby :)
or even sprite*, sounds like part of a bicycle wheel
relatively well. Boy is behaving, which is a big help. Rather nervous for intake clinic.
*giggle*
intake clinic for Tim?
no for me, for my eating disorder.
how long do you have to stay?
is all still to be decided. I have an intake with one of their psychologists on Tuesday, then next week Monday an intake with their psychiatrist. And after that, we will decide which program is best for me.
if we decide on the resident program, it is 6 to 8 weeks. Weekends at home.
What type of eating disorder do you have, sprite?
wow! It sounds like a great possibility
hello bzzn
hi Bea. I have a combination of binge eating and not eating at all.
Morning, all.
My best to you, sprite. Tough situation.
thanks Bea. Yeah, it is a battle. But now with all the health issues I have to face it. And I think I am ready. Done enough preparation :)
thank you!
I'll bet your sugar will go waaaaay down!
when I learn to eat better and lose weight? Yes, I think so too. We all hope so.
cholestorol as well. And my liver function too. All will benefit. All that needs to be done is for me to face the de5s that are hidden beneath the eating disorder.
phantom fish today: tilapia
and you will, darling. with some help from your friends...but we must remember not to give you advice once you have started therapy. and you must be strong in resisting unsolicited advice. it waters down your counselling.
hello rosie
you are absolutely right. I will. Too many cooks in the kitchen spoil the dish, as we dutchies say.
hey ruby...are you keeping well?
and can't have more than one captain on a ship.
exactly, sprite, so be prepared for some adverse reactions, hun. me??? just hit me with a brick...doesn't take much to make me sit up and take notice. lol
yes, thanks, working on putting out several fires at once....
lololllllllllllllllllll
poor ruby. It is rather muchish, isn't it hun. *hugs*
as usual, ruby...and the ignition ca\me from...
nothing new, but I've decided to stop being a "cash cow" for the lawyers; we'll see what happens
sprite, just let me know when you start therapy in earnest. i will back you to the hilt...and try to pull others into line.
thanks rose! I will. I have decided, if I am allowed on the resident program, I will buy myself a keyboard for my tablet so I can babble and email from there. I hope they have wifi.
OKAY!!!! track clearing of excess people. motoGP about to start
hehehe and off is rose. Have fun, hun.
fireflies for me. *hugs* to you all, have a grand day and/or a peaceful night.
another couple of minutes...warm-up lap first
Hi again :)
wb and bye, Liz :)
Thanks for the email Rose - bye Sprite :)
vroom vroom, rose
{{lizlin}}
okay, rossi on first row of grid, cal crutchlow on second
Enjoy the race Rose. Hi Ruby :)
the only aussie is waaa-aay back. * sigh *
WTG SPRITE!!!
omg, nearly 51,000 in the audience.
But you've got a better view on TV but probably not the atmosphere! Though I'm sure if the Aussie wins, I'll hear you cheer!
just wait until philip island....
I don't really follow the racing :( But I know you love it. Will you go to Philip Island?
Good day to all. I worked on the grid first before joining chat. I found 110 so far.
well done, scrabs
Hi scrabbs
I'm struggling at 158!
good morning, scrabs
I have slowed down, for sure.
i'm not going, but as a birthday present for himself, each year i buy him a 3 day pass, all accommodation, and meals.
What a great present.
he needs a whole weekend of male-only company.
And you get the TV control!
lolol, got it in one.
And comfort eating!
And drinking!
laying on supplies...chocolate, caramel popcorn...and yes, plenty of alcohol...and no mother mac....almost my ideal weekend...
You just need Don then!
What is mother mac?
And that defeats the whole purpose!
Hi Bea :)
Clues for U, please?
bea, mother mac is my MIL, she lives with us. she is 94 years old
Rose's m-i-l is Mother Mac
Ah..
Sorry Rose - thought you might
ul5, ul + vowel + abbreviation for mother

Hi crossy - how are the studies going?
{{crossy}}
{{crossy}} my dearest man.
I have a pa6/21 = bird.
there's a pa6 for your advanced studies
they are going well liz.was a bit of a shock being back in a classroom after 33 years but i have settled in and all is well.bonus is most of the teachers are younger and prettier than i remember in my youth:))
ty for the bird - we've so many of them in our garden - don't know how I missed it!
Enjoy the scenery crossy!!!
good morning/evening everyone
Thinking about advanced studies.
Hi Annie & Bobby.
Hi Annie :)

{{annie}}
Hi Scrabbs, Liz :)
hehe
helloooo, annie, lovely to see you
Oh, no, my sister is ready to leave now. She is returning to New Jersey and has been here since Monday. Waaaah.
bye, scrab's sister! Safe trip back
Hi rose, lovely to see you too, dont get to see ou much, hope the knee is resting and not bothering you
quick peck on the cheek, shove her out the door, and hurry back.
my family doctor got his shingle about the same time as i became a patient of his over 25 years ago.last month he had a locum for a bit and he looked so young that i did not know wether to tell him my problem or give him a lolly pop
I found the other pa6/21. TY, ruby.
SAfe journey to your sister, scrabbs
oh, dear, crossy. exactly
safe trip to Scrabbs's sister
Haha, Granny. Well, we will see each other again in 3 wks. We are meeting in the Adirondack Mountains for 4 days of hiking and kayaking in autumn with peak colors of the leaves.
*reminder to look up locum later*
knee okay with the rest, annie. thanx for your concern. and you hun?

Had to chase down the escape cat...
See, in the UK English me8 has two l's in the middle
It took me a long time to find that one because of the double consonant!
Or the lack of it.
co8, plural of co7, co**, abbreviation for contest + t***, bitter taste
co8, co + not in the future + either/**
Have that one but not the other co 8 - a clue would be great!
thanks rose!
c
thanks Rose - would not have thought of that. Didn't have the word without the co either!
Got all the vowels gray...Back for the rest later...pfft!
Enjoy your day Bea

farm
Free clue!!
It's L in Hebrew
I know! That's why it's funny!
8's are co, co, di, id, me, pa
Esp considering I spent all day yesterday in shul!!!
sometimes I look at the most common words (in english) and they look funny to me
I do that too!
Liz, I stayed home but I fasted..couldnt wait for the day to end
But with enable, so many odd words are accepted!
I don't have a problem with fasting but find the day goes quicker in shul. Advantage of winter here is that the fast finished at just after 6.00!
whoot, what a race...rossi came in 4th...cal crutchlow 5th...
8's are done now. TY.
Liz, Im glad the day is over..on that day I feel the prescence of God, the day of Awe

probably :) I just haven't committed them to memory. Did you get it without help?
a no5/6 combo at the end. no5/12
no I just used the clue if it's the one starting with i. I could go look up. It's her first question to the vet--rumen, obosum, what are the other two
That one irritates me, because the plural is wrong. It's a spanish word.
Oh, no, not the il4. We have those, not just ruminants.
Don't go listing them all! You'll end up in the PB
Besides, that's intestines, I believe, not stomach
gotta go now anyway--good eve with reading group at heathers and watched Wallace and Gromit--elle says she has the DVD--sheep, cheese, trousers. a hoot.

bichon - a minister is sometimes referred to as the pa6/21 of the flock, when there are 2 ministers at a church, they are often referred to as co + pa6 and pl

lol Molly, how about stock car races
that one wasn't hubby
Molly LOL -- and I was sooo prissy and un-rodeo-esque LOL
Ooo, Flosey, that is a great first date too. : )
so Une, you didn't have any desire to take part in rodeos
Une is such an animal lover. She would be too busy petting the animals to ride them. : D
I did want to drive in the powder puff race - didn'
didn't make it
funny story re my dad -- we went to see the original Parent Trap with Hayley Mills decades ago . . . as the credits rolled at the end, he turned to me and said: you know, I never could tell them apart
LOL
LOLOL -- still cracks me up!!
LOLOL -- still cracks me up!!
: D Une!
cute story Une
my mom would say dumb stuff like that too
my mom and I just rolled our eyes . . .
do you have the spanish flag at full mast at your house une?
My Mom was the queen of saying dumb stuff. As in calling the local department store's craft department and asking the man who answered the phone if he had styrofoam balls.
lol
LOLOL!!! Molly!
ah Molly, that was a real LOL
talk about squeaky sex..
gotta tell hubby that one
on a trip to NYC with my mom, she commented that she thought it was really sweet that so many older men took their daughters to the theater
LOLOLOL
quality time . . .
Yes, so sweet, la la la
I saw some of that in NY recently
i'm sure, ru :-)
My dad use to take me to football games - took me to see Frank Sinatra at Maple Leaf Gardens
i would have loved to go to a sinatra concert
introduced me to one of the hockey players who said, oh sure Bert, sly grin
i didn't appreciate him until later in life
very sweet flosey -- my dad never took me ANYWHERE
same here une
cute, flosey :-)
Ooo, Flosey, he thought your Dad was one of those "older gentlemen" that Une's mother noticed. : D
was very close to Dad, told him everything, had total faith/trust in him - miss him, he died at 66
yes he did
was a wink, wink
Okay, Flosey's Dad was Bert, Une's Dad was Elmo, do we have an Ernie?
Or a Grover?
Harold here
this seems to be Sesame Street Day
was very lucky to have had so many great trips with my mom --wonderful memories
Yes, my dad's middle name was ernie ( ernest actually)
No Ru, that doesn't count. Old Weird Harold was on Fat Albert.
and we saw some "classics" together, like Lena Horne
Dad was really Albert, thus my middle name Alberta
*chrissie saves the day*
Ding! We have an Ernie!

BBL - gotta run -- HAGD!
bye une-y

down to forty finally
still plodding along, 110 to go

dent
in sf strapon is one word.. but it isn't allowed here :D
*boxes up sick humor and puts it away*
lol, some things do go right over my head ru, assuming sf in the city in CA?
is, not in
:D yes
man.. this just got a looooot tougher
I think I have to finally cave in and list
daughter attended the Gay Parade in SF - her job title is Waxing Guru - does a lot of PR work for the company, involves a bit of travelling
waxing guru?
hair removal
wow
bet that's popular in SF
that's why she was sent there
well.. many revelers were wearing skimpy clothing.. so waxing is a must
she's tiny, but can sure hold her own
where does she live?
Vancouverf
oh
oh lovely city
just typed it in Add Word - was told that was not in Enable
Guru was my grandfathers nickname :D
it is, other dau. is in N. Van
wow
*watches joke sail a little further*
was he a very knowledgeable man?
i'm kidding flosey]
never take me seriously
:D
wondered just what kind of grandfather you had
oh true ru, with a grain of salt
my mom's father was a very nice man.. my father's father was very cold and unfriendly
even with us grendkids
ah, too bad, grandfathers are supposed to be superhuman to kids
he died pretty young too..
my grand (mom's side) was a Baptist Minister, he use to read me Uncle Wiggly from the daily news
hmm no religion in our household
it was one sided in our house - thus, Dad was my saving grace when I left the church
why did you leave the church if you don't mind me asking
'think for yourself' etc
ah
yes... I can see that
because I couldn't accept all the ridiculous 'extras' as in no dancing, movies , makeup, etc some of which has changed and become a little more updated
I've always been sort of anti -religious.. although my grandmother who I loved was very "christian" and I tolerated that from her
Being a Baptist isn't easy.
yeah.. you might as well live with a burka flosey :D
was asked to take a sunday school class of 13 year old girls, they ask questions, I said I couldn't give them the answers that I would be expected to give
it was funny, we had a visiting young minister and his wife, from Texas - she wore plenty of makeup - this changed that a bit for our young ladies
Bea, I don't understand why anyone's true faith should be difficult
Exactly.
found a really weird a by accident
I think, sometimes they like to feel persecuted
it is both far easier and far more difficult than avoiding dancing and makeup.
good morning everyone
I always thought that it was just plain silliness, hurshy
hy gypsy
flos :)
<--Doesn't get what dancing and make up have to do with faith
nor did I, Molly
Although, some of the dancing done these days are pretty "sexual".
the good news of Christianity is that God demands nothing of us to be forgiven. he has done it all. and yet, he then demands that we surrender to him our very selves, that we allow him to remake us into his perfection, that we let him take our selfishness and greed and pride and work them out of us slowly over our whole lifetimes, like working the air bubbles out of dough...
I don't think God "demands" anything of us.
Hmmm
I wonder what I have to be forgiven for .. i'm just living
I agree with you there (somewhat, no demands) hurshy, but don't believe you have to belong to any organized religion
if you have nothing that you have ever done that you are ashamed of, ruru, i salute you.
I feel that my religion is between me and God.
absolutely, Bea
I agree, Bea
I didn't say ashamed of.. I just don't understand the forgiven concept of the church
- or unforgiven! shunned, or frowned upon
it's pretty simple. you have a parent, you have a kid. the kid disobeys, the parent forgives. we've all seen that happen, right? well, whatever you have that you are ashamed of, that's your disobedience. God's your parent.
Morning ru.
I'm not real big on the concept of shame.
good morning neil
i mean, theologically it's much more complex than that, but for a culture that doesn't understand sin - that's a basic picture that you can start with.
if you don't like shame, regret, sorrow? there must be SOMETHING that you look back on and are displeased with that you have done!
that's the grey area for me hurshy.. I have a greater range of acceptance of sin :D
That requires a conscience, hurshy.
Not everyone has one.
ding ding ding
dang d's are killing me
then it's dang dang dang
Muddling through them myself,m ru.
hmmm, missing a lot of d's myself
i guess i'm not sure how to explain it then because for me, well, i do have a pretty good sense of my own imperfections.
you did fine hursh...
I am not a religious sort of person
I respect what many people find in church.. but also despise a lot of the terrible things that churches do... ie recent Catholic church discretions
I guess it all depends on your perception of your higher power. As a just and loving parent type, or a shame dispensing parent type.
well, i despise those too.
but that is the thing molly, that is the thing, yeah, no, the power of the cross is to FREE us from all the guilt and shame!
and to be able to MAKE us into new people
Yes, ru. But that doesn't happen in all churches... not that I'm religious by any means either. And of course, not raised Christian in any case.
sorry, i get so excited when i think about what Christ really does! it's so unfortunate that people have miscommunicated it in so many ways.
or indiscretions, ru
Don't remember ever having de6/36 in the grid.
Hi. Just starting and have 281 possibilities looking me in the face. Probably lots of impossible combinations, too.
hmmm, don't have that one yet Bea
hi Stidgmere
Hi flosey. It is grey down here with fog hanging in the tree tops and a mist. Full of romance and mystery.

Takes the pans out and begins making the dough which must rise a couple of times.
It is so pleasant to see friends like you on the chog.
I've got to start baking and cooking for the beach trip, but still undecided as to what to make.
Do you have youngsters or teenagers for the beach trip. It changes the menu somewhat.
Yes, we have young ones.
I always associate hot dogs and relish with the beach along with yellow mustard. You can tell we were not eating too high on the hog but my it tasted so good in the salt air.

anyone here from Detroit?. is it true that the head of the power commission there just took it under his own initiative to shut down the power as a "lesson" because people there were not conserving energy fast enough to suit him on day last week when it got up over 90 f?? is this true or is it from one of those false news the onion type sites?
Samedi.
ding ding ding!
gesuntheit, zooz
what's your source, crossy?
My husband is in the contestant pool on MSQ. He's waiting or his chance to play.
just a wall in fb,that is why i am doubt that someone could play god with all the people left that still want to live in detroit like that
Good luck to him, Bichon.
well, people can do a lot of things - doesn't mean they don't get in trouble afterwards - get fired - whatnot
Although i have no id3 what MSQ is.
good luck, Mr. bichon
awesome bich!
id4.
well, the blurb says he only answers to the govenor on this.still smacks of the bizzare
so, i don't know if it's true or not, but, i mean, it could be. i know a doctor once was so proud of a C-section he did that he carved his initials into the woman's stomach. obviously she sued him.
obviously
I have no way to contact him or how long it'll be til his turn. He did call me and ask me to take the train down to NYC and bring him his meds for 4 days!. No way
lol bichon
what is MSQ?
Million Second Quiz- new game show here
akk ok.never heard of it.hope he does well though
Thank you.
At the end, after 11 days only 5 people will go home with any money
and this is day one?
how many people does he have to outlast to get in the final 5?
NO, it started about 9 days ago and he's have to outlast a whole bunch of really good folks
but, has he even played or is he just in the pool to try to play
so they must almost be down to the final 5 then
that is good
no, that will be on Thurs.
wow this lower L is hard
This is not getting my grocery shopping done. Ugh. Happy babbling all. BBL
And good luck to Mr. Bichon!
He is awaiting his turn to play. I don't know how long the wait time will be. I'm watching it on line [with endless Subway commercials and previews for idiotic shows and movies]
so for the 5 who do win how much can they win
The ultimate prize is 2 million
So someone could walk on that day and win two mil
Wow..good luck, Bichon!
Is on TV anywhere?
yeah but if you want to see it you have to put up with ryan seacrest *gag*
It's on every night on NBC [except for tonight, football game] from 8-9
Yes, hurshy, there's that
Thanks, bichon
Never heard of him...sounds like i don't want to either..lol
yw
he's a pretty face, no more, no less
have you heard the phrase "television personality"? he's one of those. no actual talent, just, you know, there.
I getcha.
like the nauseating kardashians
except they are famous for being wealthy, right? i don't think he started out wealthy.
Their father was one of the lawyers on the OJ Simpson case
The first night I watched the show, it was so confusing. They didn't bother to really explain things. Rating have been going through the floor
if the shoe don't fit you must not buy it
Oh they have the Kardashians on some channel over here....what a load of cobs wollop.
cobs wollop, I like that
phrase
i thought it was
codswollop
or something
codswallop
It is..but i like my mums way of saying it better.
ah
She says when you get cobs web in your face in the garden it is so annoying..so she changed it to that...bless her.
name that proper noun! US supreme court justice

Hello, Scouser..hope you are well?

I think wattles is a funny word : )
congrats, matches!!!
Congrats, Matches!
this puir fellow, sub for regular redskins kicker. i mean, it's just as well for me and my packers, but, never kicked a field goal in the NFL before, suddenly put in for a 50 yard try! not even close
I like cobs wallop too. : D
Hi zooz been very busy today with visitors to our tunnels of Joseph Williamson (1769-1840) The Mole or King of Edge Hill in Liverpool.
eu
Sounds good, Scouser, A good day to be inside with all the rain we have been having...not sure if you have had the bad weather too.
hi again all!
Hello, Sue :-)
My husband, Erhard, played his first game and won!. He's in the Money Chair. You can see him at Millionairesecondquiz.com
It swept through horizontally and not looking much to either side about 2pm then calmed down. Must have very tight isobars on the weather map!
oooh cool bichon
good luck to Mr. Bichon!
He looked so calm and confidant
fireworks
stuck on an st 5/12
Hey Molly L: here in England we have codswallop - a derivation from Mr. Hiram Codd, who made fizzy drinks. We have lots of his bottles in our tunnels, complete with the glass marble internal stoppers.
yay annie!
there are 2, smom
one is nasty weather
have one .. can t monkey the other
Weather update - it is now doing the horizontal bit in the other direction this time! deluges of sudden rain.
that was it... thanks scouser
Rats, I have someone named Andrew in the money chair.
st and *** music
going to watch the quiz
ty annie and congrats on fireworks.
Yes not nice weather here, Scouser...i have some of the old glass bottles with the marble stoppers..some from Oxford and some from the Isle Of Wight.
Congrats, Annie!
I can't seem to get the quiz to come up :-(
sammysmom - that was a genuine weather update, not a clue!
I have the same problem as zooz :(
I also have some old poison bottles that are blue.still pretty common i know..but i like them.
yes zooz ours are also from places far from Liverpool as well as local ones. Evidence of the railway age I think.
going to watch the Mets play, bye
Molly, it might be a few minutes
Take care, Annie.
I have a small blue poison bottle one that has been in a fire and is flattened and folded. I love cobalt glass
this is a difficult grid. How can there be 18 p words in here?
zooz - I have some of the bottles with marble stoppers too. They are rare, because kids used to break them to get tthe marbles out.
There he is! Go Erhard!
That sounds cool, Scouser. My parents also have red bottles but i feel they might of had purfume inside at one stage.I am not too sure.
Yes, Saanichat, Such a shame ,i like those bottles and they can fetch a good price now.
*Saanichcat
I brought some blue ones home when we were rebottling lab chemicals in school (I was a science technician for 28 yrs) and a blue bell jar
When you get the blue, red, green bottles and arrange them in correct lighting. They can look stunning.
Indeed. thinks: maybe get lighting in their cupboard...
Talking of Ps i still need two of those.
He's a smarty pants Bich. Well done Erhard!
I still need 6 Ps and 6 Fs also must concentrate
I take it he is through to the next round, Molly?
Yes and Mr. Bich won again. He had a little trouble with a Gwen Stefani question though. : D
Ahh i have all the Fs
I do not mind her music.
It's fun to watch these things when you have someone to root for.
It is the Ds that are giving me the most grief.
am going off chog now to get some words in the grid
It was a question about her clothing line Zoom. Not something most men would know. The woman he was competing with didn't know either.
Yes i am sure it is..i did try but i kept getting videos of shows days gone by...nothing there for a live feed.
Nice talking to you, Scouser.Take care and happy hunting for words.
Well true, Molly, I would not know either..lol
i definitely wouldn't know

Well, Mr. Bich is in the money chair. I think he competes until someone beats him or he hits some money amount.
Dammit! I can't get it........
Do you folks in the UK and Ireland not get American TV station sites? This is on an NBC site.
No, Molly, Only UK versions of NBC news that sort of thing..So we do not see your adverts either.
I'm just getting loads of ads .... No pressure, Molls, but I'm depending on you to keep us updated....
Ok 23 more to find..think i will use the list, i am getting tired now.
Me & my ex & the 2 eldest kids were on a TV gameshow once. We won €15,000 worth of travel vouchers. We blew the lot on a holiday to Kenya. We flew 1st class, 5 star hotel, 5 day safari, hot air balloon flight over the Masai Mara. It was a teeny little taste of hoe the other half live!
I do not watch much television ... because I do not have one.
Hello BR. :-)
Wow that sounds amazing, Soodle.
o-o says hello
o-o you could watch TV on you computer i think.

Ok, Soodle,Thanks.
I like Mr. Bich's composure. The girls who smile every time they know the answer bug me.
I don't know anything. I'm just sitting in my dining room
Erhard has been on 3 other TV quiz shows, Jeopardy, Millionaire and some unheard of show

di + not first but l*** + ***ly round the flag
got it fireworks.
that sucks that he did not win any money. he did very well.
They should have some kind of prizes for the people who do that well.
well done, angel. about that clue, is the L used or not?
yes they should
Only the *** are used
that's what I thought.
And finished... Hadg/evening/night all
Thanx Molly for the di clue
now I got it, feeling smart again...
nite Chrissie
That's my criticism of the show. There should be some small prize for those folks who get into the money chair. Maybe a hundred bucks
so,does this new guy just take over all the money hubby managed to accumulate or does he start from scratch?
No, he starts at zero.
good
wow, I think anyone going as far as your hubby, should certainly be rewarded
I plan to reward him when he gets home, late tonight
good for you
Aw, The Bich House will be The Love Shack tonight. ♥
I know what show, but where was it? in California?
Covering my eyes...
NYC
that was my second guess.

Down to 60! Getting there!
During the 1920’s, the Pa**** gained in popularity as the new “swing jazz†and “flapper†style of dancing became fashionable. The Pa**** Royale is currently enjoying a renaissance. In 2005 the 86 year old Pa**** Royale underwent a restoration. After the renovation, the Pa**** Royale Ballroom is now a world class facility.
My father remembers seeing many big band hits there, including dorsey and goodman and his favorite les brown

hi min
Getting into a kayak is awkward
I have co4/6 to post a story la4/5n with clues for my de 4/5 Babble friends. The incident la 4/4 week w/Nicole Kidman is just reminder how the me5/14 can get out of hand. This happened on the ea4/4 coast. Nicole Kidman was al5/12ed when a man on a bike, riding too fa 4/7, sl4/5med right into her. The biker also pretended to be al 4/4med by the incident and sa 4/5 his breaks did not work which was a very la 4/5 excuse. Kidman was lucky not to fall & hit her head and go into a co 4/5. Instead, her pa 4/5 le 4/5t to her side and helped her. Her first id4/5 was to press charges.I believe all the fa4/8 in the world doesn't mean actors deserve to be stalked by the paparazzi. They can cause quite a st4/4.At times they st 5/12 the property of actors. Or they ta4/4gate them in their cars. Or they will tr 5/12 insults with actors. Some actors have sued&gone to tr5/10 over some incidences. Husband wants to play Fa 4/8ville now. I'll give him the co4/6uter so he does not go into a tir 5/12. I hope that you've ma 4/6 sense of my clues and found more words to add to Lickety's li 4/4. I did not ed 4/5 story so there may be some mistakes. I am going to da4/5 on into the bedroom and watch the Wesley Snipes film De 4/5lition Man.I will be back later to help clue and chat. Goodbye

Jackson Roy Kirk was your creator!
That uncouth outburst was a clue for no5 from the Star Trek TOS episode "The Changeling"
I don't watch Star Trek so that clue didn't help me, LOL. But I am sure it was very original
no5 is a wanderer
TOS stands for "The Original Series"
did any ask for no5? i'm rather confused. as for star trek, hurshy should be here to enjoy your reference.
i like you fish, mab....where in new england are you?...maine here

I lived two years in Wayland, but they were my first two years, so I don't remember any of it.
nice. one has the seasons but it doesn't get so cold.
although when it's 20 degrees, no one goes out of the house.
This year ran about a month behind schedule for much of the year, January's bitter cold in February, February's snow in March, and so on.

i am watching the red sox game, doing crossword puzzles...just keeping this window open...
How 'bout those Sox, pen!
yes!!!!
the yankee games have been great!
We don't get many Sox games down here unless they're playing the Rays -- or leading the league! We've had quite a few games the last couple weeks! Even a few with Remy & Orsillo, probably what I really miss most about not being in NE watching!
yes, remy has been out because his son was arrested for murder....haven't liked the other guys filling in....all former Red Sox players...
mom, is the villages in sort of central fla, the ocala area?
Just south of Ocala, an hour north of Orlando.
my father lives there
he's very aged and has recently put his house on the market and moved to assisted living, which he likes quite well.
What village was he in?
not sure. it has 'lake' in the name I think. lady lake?
hi mall you must be talking the villages I enjoy visiting there in the square and dancing
sorry to interupt
It's a pretty amazing place to live! Never thought hubby could drag me from CT and I'd really be happy! But it happened!
sox have swept the yankees....yea!

true. For me, I can teach for three hours, almost no matter what... so most days I think I won't have to call in sick. BUT. I have to be gone for a day in October (orientation stuff at the district), so I have to get things as "normal" in routine as possible before then.
