How is Mrs Rose this evening
hellooo miz pugs. doing okay..approval has come through
Oh great! Its about time
how are you, hun? head okay, this morning?
what will they be doing and when will they do it, rose?
ty rose... not true... we share shoes often :) !
No problems here
slight hitch, they have misnamed the procedure. i am supposed to have a REVISION total knee replacement. they have approved a total knee replacement.
Your breast augmentation plan went through Rose. ..how great
idiot who typed it... hopefully won't take too long to get change through
the difference is a TKR takes about 45-60 minutes. a revision van take 2-3 hours.
so sorry you are going through all this mess, rose
maybe since your original wasn't that long ago, yours won't take that long
i have to check with my surgeon's rooms. i don't want to be lumbered with an 'excess'.
thats all it has been is a mess from day one it seems
*watches joke wither away*
lol, if you could hear the dolly bird i have to deal with, you would understand why the mess. she claims my surgeon requested a TKR, and not a revision. gonna check tomorrow.
lolol, ruru...yeah, yeah, like my boobs....
brain fade on his part, if that's the case
praying your scheduling will go through quickly...
I am off all, til the flip...(((rose))) (((ru)))

Bye dee
{{hugs}} night, dee. hope you have a sweet sleep.
I will be glad for you when you can get in there and get it over so you can get back to a normal life
ty all!
bye Dee
I was just thinking
oh no Ru :)
uh oh...we're in trouble...ruru's thinking
.That way if your arms were akimbo...Don would be transfixed :D
roflol.....
Its a very good thing Ru is not your surgeon Rose
Yeah. She would still have a bad knee but have a nice rack
yeah, i'd have to endure his cutting remarks...
I would have sewn it up before that
what....your mouth??? ni4....
back again -- glad to see Lickety's here now
wb Jilli
and scrolling back, sorry to see rose has to go through surgery again
cooee jilli...yeah, well. if it fixes the problem...
What is the problem that makes your last surgery bad?
jilli when i fell last May, the ligament which stabilises your knee was torn. it has not healed. and at my age it is not an option to try and repair it.
Oh, I see -- I guess I missed hearing about your fall. Bummer.
I'm going to have to shut down. Can't get Firefox to work! Rebooting seems indicated. Bye all!
later jilli
bye Jilli

having a bit of a problem here with babble

It wasent excepting any of my words or letting my chat go through
Rose, could you please clue the fe6
pugs, fe + vowel + **d*, sit in a car or on a horse

well done
Hi all. Late start today.
Iced
Hello Liz
Oops! Great start!
cooee liz
looks like a cold start at that--lol
Hi pugs. Hope all's well with you.
Hi Rose. Was reading that your surgery is scheduled but the wrong one!
rose are all the ty words to do with the keyboard
Def a cold start!
hi all
all is fine with me and youLiz?
Hi joso
hey there Joso
howdy, mate.
It's raining! So happy for the garden.
hi liz, pug, rose
glad the rain is there, liz. is it all over the state.
we are to get that tonight and the next two days
good for the fires too
thats good for the fires though
Not sure but I think over the south east.
Hello everyone. I used to play 2 years ago but then I emigrated and forgot all about the game. It came back to me this morning. :)
If it's in a fire area but don't know about that.
Hi sarah
Nice to meet you Sarah
hello sarah. welcome back
hi sarah
Where did you emigrate from and to?
sarah, you emigrated from where to where?
Thank you all. Looking forward to getting to know everyone again.
From Ireland to the Netherlands
Great minds again, rose
so rose your surgery is scheduled?
aha, you are now within range of sprite....hopefully
just what I was thinking--lol
Me too
joso, there has been a mistake in terminology. need to find out from my surgeon exactly what he requested.
But if the terminology is easily sorted, when should it happen?
these insurance people will quibble if every i isn't dotted, and every t isn't crossed.
ah, bureaucratic cogs not quite meshing
rose, I think you missed my question--are all the ty words related to the keyboard? I still need a 518
yes, liz. just a matter of slotting me into one of his lists.
whole nation is a postage stamp, can't be too far from sprite
So hopefully not too long.
well they all start with the same 3 letters, the one you are missing is probably, ty + abbreviation for picture
Where is Sprite, also in the Netherlands? It really is small and I'm right in the centre so nowhere is more than 2 and half hours away!
So I'm missing 1 ty then.
thank you Rose, that was it
there are 4 ty words Liz
Found it an 8.
sorry i missed your earlier post, pugs
Now have all ts
I'm not sure sarah, All I remember her saying about it was that she was in a quaint touristy area, windmills and such.
What are the stats of the other 8 please?
i'm impressed liz, ni4 find
no problem Rose--------did anyone see Sprite yesterday
Fluke, rose
Oh, probably Drenthe. That's much like that. I'm in a university city. Bars and pubs 10 minutes that way <--- windmills and lakes and houseboats and bike paths 5 minutes that way --->
no, i didn't.i think i was only on very briefly. saw joso, and you
Sprite is a beautiful soul maybe you guys can become friends
I came here later in the day and checked the chat and she hadent been on
I'll say hi.
sarah, if did you go pro previously?
No I didn't see her. Just got on with the grid cos I knew I wouldn't have time this morning.
just checked sprite's profile, she lives in Zaanstad
maybe sprite is too busy writing our first chapter to babble
oh, I know Zaanstad. Joso, no.
I hope that is what it is. I think she felt bad that the family looked upon her as a burden.
ok, like you I came back after a long absence and found my account still active
Rose was you able to save your chicken
oh, yes, thanx pugs.
hmmm, sounds like dinner is being served. happy babbling. catch you all later
Bon appetite.
bye Rose, enjoy and hugs
her family said that to her pug, a burden?
eat hardy mate
What an awful thing to say to someone
yep, when they had the family group thing
ah, that would be dispiriting
I know that had to hurt her
Poor sprite. Hugs to her
maybe they also said so spends too much time babbling
I could get that feedback myself
What sprite said was that the family all acknowledged that having to care for her as an invalid was tough and put extra demands on all of them. She seemed to accept that action needs to be taken to lift some of the burden from them. That was my interpretation, anyway.
Thanks Haz.
Morning Haz---its not something she can really help and she has to feel a bit hurt
But therapy is about airing how you feel and it's necessary in order to move on - even if it hurts.
hi haz, tnx for the clarification
I'm not saying she wasn't hurt but I don't think that the family said 'You're a burden' - it was in the context of seeing where they are as a family and they would be lying if they didn't acknowledge that it was tough.
thats true Liz,,I just hate to see anyone's feelings hurt
I understand that pugs but as Haz said, in therapy truth is very important.
Haz, is that flower from your garden? Its very lovely
Sprite probably also had stuff to say about how she feels in relation to things.
but still true pug, tim has to hear things he would just as soon not, seems sprite has her time under the spotlight too.
I wish! No, it's just an image I googled. I love the colour.
Speaking of icons, MollyL's photo isn't how I pictured her.
I understand all that, I really do, but my heart hurts and feels for her as I would any of you if you were hurting in some way
I havent seen it Haz
pug you are just about the sweetest person i know.
It's on her profile.
geez thanks Joso
molly's icon seems to change frequently
I will have to take a look then next time I see her on
Yes, it does.
I like the one Ruru has, its funny
I dont know molly too well
I see what you mean haz, must be a flattering photo, caught her on a good day, lol
I'm pleading the Fifth.
:)
Iam watching Sister Act 1 (I've only seen it a doz. times) but I like it
Hi again!! back for my last 20
morning Diz
we got Liz,Haz and Diz--lol all on at the same time
Was a good one. i'm watching love/hate, an irish show about mobsters. a bunch of clods really, violent and scary, but clods none the less.
hi diz
lol Pug
with halloween upon us thats about all thats on right now--scarey movies
you have Halloween there Joso
the Iz clan rides again
yes we do, also one of my brothers birthday
You going to go and give him a scare?
Everyone I know back home watches Love/Hate and absolutely loves the show. I must pick it up after Halloween.
I have never seen that show
he normally has a big costume party, but i doubt it will happen this year.
And I think most English speaking countries have Halloween. Certainly any with an Irish/Scottish diaspora. It's even starting to be celebrated in the Netherlands.
is he the one that just lost his friend
I don't think it has made it to america yet pug, I have to download it to get it.
we Halloween here but the kiddos have to be careful on what they accept....we only allow them to go supervised to friends houses.....we have had probs in recent yrs with "dickheads' spiking the lollies etc
Seriously, diz? What kind of moron does that?
people here are decorating almost as much for halloween as they do for xmas
I have a party for my children, and my house is decorated. This weekend my daughter's scout troop is having a spooky Halloween sleepover after a walk in the haunted woods. I loaned them a bunch of costumes and will be there myself in full witch make up with a smoking cauldron.
how neat Sarah
My mother does that, puglet, she adds to her collection every year. I just dress the big front window and around the front door.
they have to watch kids here too due to dingbats putting needles and such in apples and candies
so they celebrate halloween in the netherlands
Haz, apparently it has happened a lot here...kids were told never accept 'loose' lollies....but then the 'pricks' (excuse my language) inject shit into packaged stuff
some of the hospital even offer to x-ray kids candies
I just dont understand people that goes out of their way to hurt others
same problem here, we just make sure the treats are still in factory sealed packageing
That's terrible. Some people are just twisted.
same problem here, we just make sure the treats are still in factory sealed packaging
same problem here, we just make sure the treats are still in factory sealed packaging
do you pass out candy Joso
sorry, babble wasn't taking my comment for a moment
living out in the country we dont get tricker treaters
I had that trouble earlier Joso
Halloween is much lower key and benign here thankfully
yes, I buy full size chocolate bars for the kids, only a bit more and you get bigger smiles and rounder eyes.
I bet they do like that! lol
got get my fill of Babble for the next 2 1/2 months.....will have 2 of my 'outa state' g/kids for 3 weeks + plus the other 3 who live nearby. They have already planned sleepovers....OMG..LOL
naked greed is normally so ugly, but cute as all get out on a 5 year old's face.
how nice Diz! Hope you enjoy them!
you are a lucky soul diz
I will, Pugs, don't see the outa state ones too often - only via webcam.
when my Grandma was still here, I would go help her pass out treats and we would count them. 200 plus one year
I get about a 100 at my door
my profile pic shows them all last w/end. our 'alphabet kiddo' ADAD/OCD is up the tree
'If you give treats, they will come'
**ADHA
Hi - back again - had to call my bank in the UK! Sometimes the internet drives me mad. Had to fill in a form and it didn't say only use lower case, so it kept booting me out of the system. But have to say, the Indian call centre were brilliant!
third times proves it ***ADHD
even the later teens are fun, so wanting to be grown up, but not able to pass up free candy
So now Pugs, you really have got Haz, Diz and Liz!
We should form a club.
I like dressing up and scaring whomever
I'll join!
what sort of club?
I hereby sanction the Haz/Diz/Liz club
3 letter z club I reckon!
zoozoom would have to be the leader, he's particularly heavy in the z department.
I used to put on a frankenstein mask, but it scared the littlest ones too much, now I just put on my halloween tie
Ah! So can't limit to 3 letter z club, then!
I guess me and joso will have to change ours to puz and joz-lol
Zooz is well represented there!
Pugz!
jozo
josozo
Maybe the three letter Z people would be the most exclusive.
zoozoom could head up the riff-raff z people. (He'll know I'm joking!)
Liking that!
zzoozzoom for president, the most z's win
He knew what he was doing when he made up that name.
Hold the inauguration ceremony. There's a player called mizzizz.
Will the club have a shillelagh?
As long as the shillelagh is never swung in anger.
Good morning, o-o.
good morning, babble friends
Morning OO
Good morning, sprite.
Hello
Hi sprite and o-o
hi sprite
(((SPRITE))) have missed you! hugs and hope all is okay
hi Haz! Nice surprise. Hi o-o, good to see you. Hi pug, *hugs* missed seeing you too.
hi joso *hugs*
and hi Liz too! Wow, great company this morning.
Good to see you too :)
FWs here....will see all tomorrow
hi 0-0 too, sorry i missed you, at a glance you look a lot like sprite
gratz dizgrannie, and bye
Congrats Diz
congrats diz
ty
Well done, diz.
congrats Diz bye
This grid started like it would be a walk in the park ... actually only had a bit of trouble with the last 215 ...
hehehe joso, well I love o-o as a brother :)
aarrghh o-o, one of those...
Time for dinner. BBL hugs to all.
well that explains the family resemblance
enjoy your dinner, Liz
hugs back Liz--enjoy
Iam down to 96 and have been for at least an hour-lol
ta liz, enjoy your food
ouch. Sounds like a wicked grid.
brb--coffee
coffee is good. Am having some as well here.
Haz, how are you and yours doing? And how is Dempsey?
brb, popcorn time
sprite, I'm fine, thanks. Sorry for taking a while to reply, I was changing my e-mail password.
I found a strange e-mail to myself which I know I didn't send so am worried that my account has been hacked. Don't open anything from me that has a document attached!
no problem, Haz, I was happily searching for words while waiting for your reply. Real life comes first, always ;) Good to hear you are fine.
ok, will remember that! Lousy people, those hackers.
The annoying thing is that I was convinced no-one would ever have worked out my previous password. I suppose they have computer programmes for such things.
or they picked your email addy up somewhere and make it look like they sent emails from your addy. They don't have to actually hack your account to make it look like your addy is used.
Ah, that might explain it. It got sent to my normal e-mail address but ended up in junk mail but it wasn't sent to my googlemail address nor to my husband's e-mail (I've just checked)
ah good. Then it is probably an external thing, and not a hack. Very annoying still though.
Joso send some of that popcorn this way!
Wouldn't they be better off using their brains to do good instead of mischief?
absolutely. I will never understand people like that.
Anyway, I have a very impatient dog beside me who is ready for some attention so I'd better make tracks. Good to see you!
we have been so lucky here, through yesterday's storm. Several trees went down and they all missed our home.
bye Haz
and vice versa. Enjoy Dempsey's company and give him a bellyrub from me :)
Bye - glad you stayed safe, sprite. We had no storm at all, thankfully. Toodle-oo!
Is that why we never seen you on yesterday? So glad you were safe Sprite
Hi Sprite. I'm also in the Netherlands.
hi pug, no, that was because of therapy day. The storm had damaged some trains and tracks, so taking public transport would have been a problem. But my love was his usual lovely self and came to pick me up in a borrowed car.
Hi SarahBellum, nice to meet you. Whereabouts in the Netherlands? I am in Zaanstad, near the Zaanse Schans. Are you Dutch?
I did play yesterday, pug, but people were spamming clues and I hid the chog.
I'm in Utrecht. And no, I emigrated here from Ireland 2 years ago. Nice to meet you too! I used to play Babble until I emigrated and forgot all about it.
great to see you back here, then. Wow, Ireland... beautiful country. Backpacked a vacation there long ago. Loved the pubs, grin.
Utrecht is great, nicely in the center of the Netherlands.
I miss the pubs! When we first moved here we were in the countryside and had to move in Utrecht because we were getting cabin fever. I love Utrecht,
I don't know any Irish pubs in Utrecht, but there are bound to be a couple... maybe worth trying. Some are sad imitations, but some are good. Amsterdam has some good ones that I know of.
There's a few but they're either deserted or too crowded to move in, and they're not really the same. I was knowing lots of people, sinking pints all night and getting into a singsong that I enjoyed.
rehi, popcorn anyone, went all out and made cheeze corn
sounds good Joso! heres my bowl
yeah, that part is the best about Irish pubs for me. The singing together. Sorry you have to miss it all... I can imagine it can never be the same without your friends.
rehi, joso, how lovely. Am sick so I will pass, but I love the atmosphere you are creating :)
well... the singing and the Smithwick beer... and the guinness too.
not the flu I hope--hugs and send healing vibs
wow pug, didn't know they made bows that big. here you go
yep, the flu. Lucky me. Was lucky to be able to attend therapy yesterday. Came home with high fever and BS all messed up, spent a helluva night. Slightly better now though.
well actually Joso its my dishpan
hah, my all-time favorite word is in the grid.
what word would that be :)
you know it :) Pe5 it is.
oh surely not-lol
*grin* oh yes!
I bet that Rose gave you that flu bug-lol
No one else in the family has it
evil! I will have to tell her off about that.
looks like I am with you all about this grid... halfway and a huge brick wall.
good morning everyone:)
hiya crossy *hugs* How are you and Elegant?
hi crossy,
Morning Crossy--hugs, hope you are feeling better
((sprite)) ,joso my elegant is fine but my teeth are a mysery atm
howdy,puglet
misery
aw de4 crossy :( *sending gentle healing vibes to crossy's teeth*
oooh hate toothaches- feel sorry for you
this one is even worse since there is, after examination,no aparant cause.they are pumping me full of amoxacillin
is the amoxacillin helping the neck pain too
that is awful. Won't make you feel better either. I hope they will find the cause soon, or that the meds take.
could the neck problem be causing it
do not think so,amox is for infection, the neck pain is pinched nerves due to three herniated disks however i do have a stash of t-3,s on hand
can herniated disks cause teeth nerves to react?? i do not know
nerves can affect nerves, that I know. But not sure about this combination. A hidden inflammation sounds more likely to me.
I dont know either but when my sister had her heart attack all her pain was in her teeth and it threw us all off on what was wrong
tis going to be a long, long month:(
i have heard that can happen, puglet
*big hug for crossy* Am feeling for you, my friend. Really nasty, this.
where is our rose, btw?
ok,i am done whining,how is today's grid?
shes been on and got her fws and left to eat
interesting, crossy. Around the halfway point I hit a brick wall. After that, pulling teeth from a hen.
how dare she, grin. Ok, she will be back then.
ouch..do not say teeth....
not whining to me Crossy--hate you are in such pain and have to wait so long for help
pulling feathers from a frog!
we were all worried about you though Sprite--even Rose---you miss one day and we think the worse--lol
good orning
{{little pugs}}
{{sprite}}
((ruby))
hi ruby
Howdy doody Ruby
{{crossy}} are yu OK? Couldn't sleep? I'll sare some codeine if we can find a way to deliver it quickly
lol, please don't worry about me. I won't be babbling on any monday mornings for half a year, because of therapy. After coming home, I eat dinner. And then I play babble, so that is in my evening.
{{joso{}
hi ruby :)
hiccup time. We finally made it out of DST this weekend.
babble burped
*grin* You make it sound like a baby on my shoulder.
well I guess babble is our baby in a way
did sarah leave
at least precious as one
don't know... you still there, sarah?
Joso and Ruby are not talking too much
if it were Rose, I'd say squirrel
confucius says; hard to type when hands full of popcorn
and probally cheesey too
confucius's mother says: don't speak with mouth full of popcorn
if you dont mind me asking Sprite, how did it go for you yesterday
either that or I am suffering from the rare orange palm disease
don't mind at all, pug. Am glad you care enough to ask :) It went well. Pretty heavy sessions, all, but they were good and helpful.
lol joso
I always care but dont want you think Iam nosing into your personal afairs
you are never nosy, pug. Please feel free to ask. *hugs*
Joso, that stuff isnt the best choice for a dieabetic,is it?
Few minutes more on the grid! 137 down and struggling!
oh, btw, the psychomotoric therapist asked me again to do a mindful meditation with the group. It is kinda ni4 to do that, I enjoy working with a group again, however short.
yaaa! babble is back!
hiya crossy! Did the hiccup kill your connection?
i make many choices that are not the best choice for a diabetic, being bright and knowing the right answers is not the same as having the will to do the right thing.
argh, ain't that the truth, joso.
you are suppose to set a good example for our sister Sprite--lol
oh joso, I was meaning to ask you... what do you recommend for a diabetic when she has a fever? My BS levels are all over the place :(
i am sorry you are not well, sprite:(
just a minor flu, crossy, don't worry :)
good lord, don't look to me as an example, advice and knowledge sure, example, very poor choice
hey, you are my leading expert on diabetes, joso, lol.
I know quite a bit about it, but I bet pug knows more
here,we use tylenol brands of meds to break a fever,no sugar in them as far as i know
let me check
I stick to tried and true asprin
sickness plays havoc on diabetics... lots of fluid sprite..try to walk a bit to keep the bs level even. and yes tylenol. or something on that line
may be known under another name there
I just know through taking care of my sister--thats different then having it
ah that is paracetamol. Ok, am taking that to break the fever.
hi ivesy! Thanks. Will try and ride my hometrainer later on then. And lots of fluid is a good advice. *filling water glass again*
then,fluds,fluids,fluids
here at our drug stores they have a section of meds that are okay for diabetics(like cough meds and flu)
good morning.... i take predsione for my copd..raise my blood sugar.. but keeps my lungs clear..it a vicious circle
I wish i had you around pug, willpower is so much stronger when applied by someone else, lol
Morning ivesy
a section with preapproved med is a good idea
hi pug.. yes we have that here too.. helpful
and predsione in and of itself has a whole array of side effects
back with half liter glass of water
I need someone like that for my smoking habit
oh de4, prednisone is ugly stuff. So sorry you need it, ivesy. But clear lungs are highly important.
pug, you will give up smoking willingly at Lent.
yes crossy..so many side effects.. dr. will only let me take for a week. and hope u are feeling better..
gasp!!! you still smoking,puglet???
ty,ivesy.i am fighting the good fight
my son started taking wellbutrin for depression..also helped him stop smoking..
do you want the truth Crossy-lol
i took webutrin when i quit in 2002
wow, that is great, ivesy.
now he doesnt smoke doesnt use drugs..works out and eats healthy... just needs a job......sigh
I have found cough meds just extend a flu into a longer milder flu or cold, I just drink buckets and keep a roll of toilet paper with me for tissues, run it out as fast as i can.
a good job would help him keep up the good work, ivesy. Will hold him in my prayers.
i am glad for him, ivesy.he has come a long way
sounds like good advice to me, joso. That and paracetamol for the fever.
i love neo-citrin as well when a stubborn cold is on me
ty ... he keeps trying , applying..which is a huge step for him..
but too much sugar for diabetics i would imagine
not an easy process for sure. He shows lots of courage, ivesy.
checking neo-citrin
unfortunately my colds always turns into bronchitis..a diabetic with copd isnt good with bronchitis lol
i love the stuff, sprite.i get the honey lemon or the hot apple cider ones
i would think not!,ivesy
same for me too Ivesy
don't think we have it here, crossy. But we do have something like it, that comes in lemon taste only.
also hot showers, for a whole 5 minutes after a steaming shower i can breath right.
yes, steam is always nice.do you have one of those old fashioned vaporizers, sprite?
how goes the book sprite
Sticking your no4 in a vicks jar helps too!
no, crossy. We use the even older fashioned tub and towel method.
i remember ours.held about 2 litres of water and had a cup in the top to hold vics vap-o-rub
lol.. love vicks vapor rub..
joso: it was on hold for 2 days. Will be moving forward again today :)
vics rub is amazing.there is always some in our medicine cabinet
we have that too. I will rub it on tonight, good idea.
yeah me too and the cold mist helps me more then the steam
yes,i hear they have cold mist vaporizers now as we3ll
I save the empties to use to sniff(its much like the no4 stick)
what genre of novel you writing, sprite?
yes,the "empties" can be used in that way for a long time
fantasy, crossy
good, there are too few ladies doing fantasy.well anne mcarthy, robin hobb are good examples
and mercedes lackey and patricia briggs
Hows your schooling going Crossy
the liveship series was very, very interesting but i found that in the last book she was just in a hurry to tie up all the loose ends in the last 50 pages and move on to her next book it seemed
it is going very well, puglet.it is surprising me how much i am enjoying english
does your wife read brail Crossy
no,she does not, puglet, but we are blessed in the fact that as of right now she is retaining some sight at 20/400
oh I hear you, crossy. It shows, doesn't it? I had the same feeling with Goodkind's 5th Sword of Truth book. (soul of the fire). Like the publisher was rushing him and he just wrote to end it quickly.
I always enjoyed english too when I was in school
it showed big time.was a sad ending to an epic series
in the writing world,i feel that if you do not have the time to finish it off propery, then it is best not to start it at all
thats like the left behind series, the last book was a disapointment
properly
I agree.
i have a funny feeling most babblers do well in english
lol
a good triolgy is the delirum one, by lauren oliver.
oh, writing that one down, thanks ivesy!
lol, thats probally true
if you love fantasy, have you ladies read the Thomas Covenant series by Stephen R Donaldson?
its about the govern. law that teenagers have the ability to love taken away..
but be warned,it is 9 novels long and a commitment
I found shogun like that, very detailed book, then one page at the end that covers 3 times the period covered by the last 2000 pages
Loved Thomas Covenant series but ages since I read it.
just finiished hotel on the corner of bitter and sweet.very good
did you get to read his last three in the series, liz?
fatal reverant, all things ending etc?
oh yes! I had the same with Shogun.
Probably not. I borrowed the books from a friend - as I said it was a very long time ago!
i enjoyed sho-gun and like you,i found it a tad rushed at the end,but not so badly as the other examples we listed in here
I might see if they're available to download and reread the series.
you ladies know Peter Benchy, the author of Jaws?
I do Crossy
if you can't find them, let me know, Liz. I might have them for you. Epub a good format for you?
not really, crossy. Worth reading?
a hem, this lady knows benchy, yes
well ,he did another novel that is very brilliant but was overshadowed by jaws. it is called Q- Clearance. it is a tale where a simple meek pentagon office cubicle drone is mistakenly given top security clearance and as a result ends up as the presidents right hand man
the book of Jaws so much better then the movie
Don't know cross - tend just to use iBooks or Kindle.
look it up.a tad hard to find but biblio.com will have inexpensive copies available
Read on my iPad.
lol joso. You are so relaxed and confident in your male-ness that you can handle crossy's slip.
yes, one of the prime cases of book being so much more than movie, and the movie was great
oh sorry bout that joso:)
:)
if i find it in digital format i will make sure a copy gets around
Q-clearance, Will look for it in the next used book store prowl
you will enjoy it,joso
i always look for the lesser know titles from a big author.they often end up as hidden gems
first thing mentioned that i haven't already read.
like for James Clavell i recommend King Rat
a nice small book you can sit down with at breakfast and finish while in bed at 11 pm
Its time for me to part from you wonderful babblers, wishing you all a thousand blessings and hugs too---tomorrow--GB
oh, have read all of clavell
crossy, do you have the Q-clearance book as an epub?
no,i do not,sprite.wish i did
bye pug, have a lovely day, darling lady
Night pugs - enjoy your day. Hugs to you.
tc,pugs
ok will search for it as well then. Usenet does not have it at the moment.
I'm also off - might be back to finish later, otherwise tomorrow. Hugs to all :)
and bookos.coom seems to have been scraped clean by the copyright people
bye Liz, have a peaceful evening *hugs*
tc,liz
lol indeed crossy, I noticed that
there is one thing i highly recommed and it is in with the free to use stuff,is the readers edition of Mark Twains recently released autobiography
there is and egghead edition, but you will get buried alive in footnotes;)
dam, stayed up way too late, if you all weren't such fine company I wouldn't have this problem.
footnotes,to me, are like bugs.as soon as you see one just step on it and kill it so it does not have a chance to breed
time enough to sleep in the grave ,joso
except pratchett footnotes, little gems those
ooooh crossy, you are sucking me in again, gotta go, bye all, *poof*
some footnotes are really part of the story. Like with Douglas Addams.
bye joso *hugs*
well, first run through my sources render no existing epub of the Q clearance book, crossy :(
btw make sure you search for benchley and not benchy, lol.
amazon has it in hardcover or paperback for a penny - plus $3.99 shipping, of course. a penny? wow
yup.i often get books like that.good servicable hard or softcover, not pretty but readable for just pennies
make sure to check www.biblio.com as well.they have fast, reliable shipping and their help desk really goes the extra mile
I can only assume the S & H is what makes it worth their while to bother? they can't make much more than a dollar on a penny book, I think
but is that for the netherlands as well?
biblio ships world wide
one of the main reasons i use it as untill lately, many us companies shunned Canada
I've sent lots of books, usually runs from $2.50 to $3.50 per, at book rate. but that's the US post.
for the longest time we used to run into order forms that would only take zip codes and not postal codes and we knew that once again we had been segregated lol
hmmm, have never looked at biblio, ty
take a gander, rbud.it is very nice
in most average cass, the cost of a mid quality book will match the shipping charge i find
hm looks good, crossy. Will give it a try for the Q clearance book, that sounds really fun
that would be F grade opr better
cases
it is,sprite, can you imagine, sitting there, doing your boring job and suddenly have clearance to the most vital areas of the government and the presidents ear
well, not just his ear,but all of him.having JUST his ear would be kind of gross:)
ok, ordered Q clearance for 6 euro including porto. We will see :)
yaaaa!
sounds like a wonderful read, crossy. Can't wait until the book arrives. Might take up to 2 weeks.
hardcover or soft?
I love getting books in the mail! :D
yes, rbud.it is like mailing a present to yourself;)
paperback
anyone remember those scholatic books clubs in school and how you would pester your mum and da for some money to order a few books?
oh me too, rbud! Such a lovely feeling. A gift to yourself and then knowing you will have hours of fun aghead of you
ahead* even
a new book is like having a whole new universe to explore
we didn't have those in the netherlands, crossy
oh yes, crossy, loved seeing how much I could get for what they'd let me have.
poor sprite;(( our class used to lost it collective little mind when the catalogues came in
lose
the catalogues even smelled good, haha, like weekly reader papers (I liked those, too)
what grade of copy were you able to get for 6 euro, sprite?
we did have a school library, and at my home there was never a shortage of books. My most frustrating moments were when I had read all I was allowed and had to wait to grow older before I could start on a new one.
it said Very good, crossy
ahh yes,the age limitation.they opened up the adult section in the library to me at 13
it says: CORONET PAPERBACK EDITION 1988 VERY GOOD
first 2 i picked up were Tolkien, august dearlth and h.p lovecraft lol
lol same for me, crossy! They said I was the only one who had read all children books.
good stuff
3*
i love books.. my wildest dream came true when i got hired at the library.
and I have to say, I don't mind a bit of wear and tear on books. They have a kind of lived-in feeling for me that I like.
pretty tame for a wild dream i know lol
omg... that is better than working in a candy store, ivesy!
I like buying used books at second hand stores and finding old bookmarks, letters, even photos and stuff in them
i know sprite lol...and so great recommending books to the patrons. .
that is well.i know it is a hard to find title for this author,so 6 euro(about 8 CAD) while a tad high,is in line with this book and they story itself will be enjoyed many times
oh yes, so nice, that.
ok i admit it.... hello i am a book addict
yeah, it's ok crossy, it is not a bad price for a second hand book and handling/postage
99% of babblers are i believe
hello ivesy. Ain't we all, grin.
the other 1% are in denial
lol
at least there are self-help books out for denial:))))
lol..
brb, must go soap down this mass of muscle and make myself hansom for the world
hansome..
handsome
you are always handsome, crossy. But enjoy your soak/shower
there we go...poof!
is a fe6 a dyslectic sprite?

The supermarket? Duh. TY.
:-)
Just reading back in chat a bit. Hurshy - isn't Marty your cat? Does he have the shocks during or after the chemo?
back in the '70s I was visiting a friend in Gloucestershire and was amazed when we actually walked to the da*** for milk and yogurt! :-)
We have an organic da that just moved to our town! They will sell milk, yogurt, ice cream (God help us) and cheese. Expensive stuff, but really really good.
yum . . .
We already buy their milk at the local natural food store. Hopefully, it will go down in price now that they're local. (Dream on).
Wi6/36?
I wish I could afford the organic stuff, but it's so much more expensive.
NM. Just saw it.
The taste difference is really incredible. So much more flavorful. Probably more fat in it. Although, they say they only heat it to 165 deg - just enough to kill the bacteria without zapping all the flavor out of it.
Our Wegman's has everything organic and everything Kosher, but the prices are much higher than the regular stuff.
I'm trying to get my hubby to switch with me to 2%. He turns up his little snout at me. Never try to convert a farm boy.
Wegmans and Whole Foods prices are ridonkulous.
My kids grew up on 2%. Now they won't drink anything but whole milk.
some of whole foods' yogurts are 3-4 bucks and eggs $5 a dozen
don't like any milk but skim
Wegman's has some great prices, if you stick to the regular stuff. It's their specialty items that are sky high.
My family grew up on skim too. Now it's yeech.
Can get farm fresh eggs at the farmers market for $3.00 doz. They are all different colors and sizes. I'm partial to the blue ones myself. :-)
one of my mom's caregivers used to bring us eggs in rainbow colors -- so fun!
Some of the eggs are HUGE. I feel sorry for the poor hens that have to eject those suckers.
some of her chickens were exotic ones from asia --looked like club kids!!!
Again - the taste is so much better.
yes!!!
<<<<<<< Sure, buy another dozen of Lucifer's testicles.
:-)
why do i always think racine is a word?
I do too
Cheese head
I do three
yes, i am a packer fan
Only to the folks in Wisconsin.
one of the French words enable says no to . . .
Enable says no to a lot of French words

Hey sammysmom: If you can afford the classes, take them. Your worst case scenario is that you learn new things and decide not to use them.
the good news samantha, is that the classes are free
it is the books that cost bucks, but...... my daughter has them, heh heh

In this grid there aren't the Major is connected to the word in this grid
well, there might be lots even in the grid, since, you know, there are lots of them in the military, and we might not know them all
unless you mean like a college major
no, it means a person who arranges meetings
Domo

yw :)
Good afternoon
Hi there Bich, how is your day so far?
Pretty darned good and yours
Last week I found out that I don't have Parkinsons
That is wonderful news. I bet you were relieved.
Sure was. I have a head tremor and that is what is making me unsteady.
clue for the sa/8, pls?
Is there anything the doctor can do for that?
I've had Botox injections in the past. They helped for a while, but no more. There are meds, but I am wary that the side affects might be worse than the temor
sa 8 take the word before and ad an abbreviation for an alien
*add
I don't blame you for being wary. The side effects of some of the meds out now are scary.
Tks!
yw
I'll have to talk to him more when I see him again. Really liked the doctor. Had a manner which put me at ease
