ditto, despite doing all MIL's washing, and folding, sorting, ironing our own. knee behaving today. i haven't screamed since the last time....lol
just resting is about all you can do until surgery and hopefully that will be the end of it!
worried about MIL. on her last hospital stay, they catheterised her. then took it out without clamping and releasing it every 4 hours. that gives the bladder back it's tone. poor old thing can't make it to the toilet in time now. such poor nursing!!

I used to love all kinds of dances -- Lindy, Savoy (you probably never heard of those), foxtrot, rhumba, samba, polka, two-step, waltz, etc - even did some on ice including paso doble.
Ive heard of all of them but for the lindy and savoy-Jilli

The Lindy was what we bobbysoxers did in the early 1940s -- now known as jive, I think, but not quite the same. The Savoy was a variation on the steps. But the slow dancing we did was known as "a vertical position for a horizontal urge", and it eneded there, unlike today. We didn't have The Pill.

I had a horse periiod too, but that was before the dancing. Wars did a lot of interfering with my life.

Had a weird experience last night. Some guy I did not recognize knocked on my door about 9:00. Since I didn't know who he was, I didn't answer. He knocked a couple more times and then said something into his cell phone to someone and left. Hey, I don't answer my door to anyone I don't know and am not expecting, especially at night.

I called our security patrol and told them about it and asked that they pay special attention to my building area last night.
since he has a cell phone,he is not looking for a phone to call a tow truck,and he is not lost.modern cell phones took away many of the reasons that strangers needed to knock upon our doors

I honestly wouldn't open the door. That happens a couple of times, they'll stop doing it. One of these people also calls her on the phone and when she doesn't pick up she keeps saying into the answering machine...Sylvia...are you there....Sylvia...and then when that is over, she calls back and does the same thing! I would change my number!
Or block hers.
I feel that the phone is here for MY convenience and if I don't want to answer, I don't have to. If it's important, leave a message and if I hear that, I'll call right back.
Anyway, that little incident last night unnerved me a bit. That's the downside to being a woman living alone.

This tv grabs the signal direct from my wireless router
do you get american netflix? husband says there's a way to change your dns to get the american shows (there are a whole lot more of them)
ahhh - the roku does that, but also has other channels, the ones we like are all free
I have not tried to alter it for u.s programming yet

you heat up one tablespoon of butter with 1/4 cup of sugar and two tablespoons of cognac.. and get it nice and golden brown.. you simmer it till it thickens somewhat and toss the halves of strawberries right from the fridge into the hot syrup and toss quickly and serve over ice cream (vanilla or creme brulee)
