and hi stid! How goes it?
it goes well, jill. You?
il 5 and il 7/32
Fine here -- very busy.
I am glad you are here, though, Bugsaw asked me to pass along a message to babblers who know her... she is going to be offline for a couple months.
busy might be good -- is it?
I hope bugs is okay!
busy is good -- getting my dane book republished among other things.
not really -- she broke her ankle and is on total bedrest for a while. She will be okay, just not online.
i wish her a speedy recovery.
thanks jbp and jill, I will let her know. :-)
oh jeez -- I know abut broken ankles! But total bedrest? Not a good idea.
It is for her issues, jill -- don't worry. The docs know what they are doing for her specific injury and she will be fine.
No email? How did you hear about it?
nbs, btw
She was able to contact me, jill.
ah, I got NBT without help for a change!
easier to do with so many words though, so a shallow victory.
a question about home building if I may, Jill?
sure, shoot
when you picked out your plumbing fixtures, were they the most expensive part? They are even more costly (it seems) than the lighting -- and that felt pretty extravagant for me...
stid, our house was already built when we bought it.
red boxes again, darn what's the matter now
duse
I refreshed and they disappeared
But I'm glad we got the Moen ones with the lifetime guarantee -- I've had my kitchen one servied twice with no problem and no fee.
*serviced
I(I got the red boxes too -- refreshed and had to wait a bit but it's okay now)

got that silly one too, dee ;-)
:)
I love that word... so descriptive :)
Thanks for the reflection on the Moen faucets, Jill -- that is what our plumber is recommending. Compared to the ones at the box stores they are WAY expensive, but if they last, then perhaps it's worth the upfront cost.
((flosey))
definitely worth it, stid.
We love Moen and Delta.
thanks for the AS, too!

evening stid!
rhi stid, good to see you
Hi stid. If you contact bugs, give her my best wishes for a speedy recovery.
we'll go that route. By this time tomorrow we'll have a roof... and then once the inside dries and heats up a little we'll have insulation, drywall, lights, water... :-)
thanks liz -- I will definitely do that.
mcurl! you're up! :-)
si 7
yes, it's friday and I'm at the Carmon's---you remember the night owl! but I am getting ready to head up
I've been in this house for over 17 years now. The spray on my kitchen faucet stopped working properly a few months ago. I went to Moen online and found a similar old model -- ordered it, and bingo, it arrived promptly -- no charge, no shipping costs, easy to install by myself.
right!
We just got back from GRant's performance. i am so wired up, can't sleep...
wonderful to hear that, Jill.
He is one talented kid, eh?
Indeed, and so gifted with physical comedy. :-) He isn't the star, but as a supporting player, he is most excellent!
stid, I hope I can contact bugs too, but if not, please give her my sympathy too and tell her I'd love to hear from her.
Sounds excellent, stid, as does the progress with your house.
I would send a card, jill -- I am not sure exactly where she is at the moment but I know Mr. Bugs would make sure she got anything that came in the mail.
oh -- and the cool thing about the play is that a kid I helped out with school things a few years ago (I was his tu5) is doing behind the scenes stuff -- I didn't even know he was in town! He's actually as old now as Tom and I were when we got married... LOL so no longer a kid!
Scary when your ex pupils grow up!
scarier, liz, when your little boy becomes and official Senior Citizen!
does that make one a super-citizen then jill?
super-senior maybe
Definitely super, jilli

hi all. is it times for clues? i am stuck.
mkg, still have 37 to go, but will help if i can.
Hi Rose and mkg
would love clues for 9s. i have oen of them: re. need others.
How've you been today, Rose?
good morning, babble friends :)
hey ya liz. got 10 hours sleep last night. feel a different person tonight...lol...don't tell don. * grin *
Hi sprite
Glad to hear that, Rose and your secrets safe here!
hi Liz :) *hug*
ei9, plural of ei8, albert ei8, a physicist
hi rose :) Good to hear you are feeling more human now.
hi sprite!
hi jilli :)
in9, in + ****e, one of the five ****es, sight, hearing touch, taste, smell + past tense of to consume
ty granny so why is his name a word? i hate this dictionary.
hello rose -- didn't see you arrive. Glad you're feeling better. When is your surgery?
ty granny. got the in as well. one more to go.
because his name is also a unit for radiant energy
st9, plural of st8, st + hearing organ + opposite of out + abbreviation for a compass direction
jilli, surgery now scheduled for 2nd december
thanx spritey
ty granny. got it. and 9 is grey.
I'll be thinking of you -- I have an ultrasound date that day too (kidneys)
well two more words and i have half. any clues for some 8s?
Glad it's not a huge delay.
ugh, jilli....hope all is well, hun
glad you don't have to wait much longer, rose
Dec2 will be a good day for both of you!
mkg, you should have ei8, from ei9 clue
jilli: hope it is ok
so do I, rose -- apparently some lack of function -- just a little.
Me to Jilli - I'm just being positive!
Damned auto correct!
I know I wrote too
auto messer-up
yes have 2 8s
haha -- I bet a lot of people have that happen
et8, et + vowel + **t, opposite of stand + t**, what the sun does to our skin
ra8, most wet weather
se8, plural of se7, s + **ter, come in + plural letter + past tense of to consume
ty granny. cant get the et. got the others.
st8, st + r***, wet weather = gerund end
just got the et. ty.
ty granny. off to sleep now. ty.
st8, plural of st7, s + *** or coffee + opposite of out
ty got st.
np's mkg, maybe see you tomorrow. sleep well, dear
i have st 7 8 and 9. all same. right?
gnight granny andty.
and another st8 after, plural of original stt
rose, that st8, st + r*** etc doesn't work. there's no str
you have to leave out that R, jilli
jilli, drop the r, dear
oh wait, you didn't intend the r to be there, duh to me
enta - dyslectic volcano
s'okay, sardine on it's way, jilli

I kept wanting the volcano
glad I am not alone :)

hi peach
hi pug, so sorry to hear that. Gentle healing vibes your way.
Hey there, sprite and puglet. How are you all?
hey ya pugs, peach...big hugs to you both
Oh, sorry to hear that pugs.....energy being sent.
Hi there Rose. Glad you got some good sleep.....it always seems to help.
Thanks guys
sleep is a great healer
And hugs right back at you.
yeah, sleep deprivation is vastly under-rated...lol
Hi peach and pugs :)
Feel better soon pugs.
everything ugly is far more ugly without sleep. *hugs rose*
aww, pugs...naughty road works, get out of pugs head
Hi Liz
Hi there, Liz. Are you well today, 'm dear?
and you yourself, peach?
thanks Liz---waiting for the pills work
All's fine here, thanks peach. Did yvooria enjoy babble?
Sprite, I feel much better than yesterday....Vertigo was running rampant.
Glad you're feeling better
I haven't spoken with her yet but I'm sure she did.
oh that is very uncomfortable, peach. Glad you are better today.
Thanks, it means so much to have such caring people in my life. I really appreciate all of you.
as we do you, peach :)
*sigh* dinner ready...see you later
I haven't seen Molly on for a while*....I hope she is OK.
enjoy your dinner, rose *hugs*
Bon appetite, rose
Molly put her foot in her mouth for a bit. I think she will be back in a while.
OH.
Hope so. She made a mistake but I understand why!
yeah and mistakes are human.
People are not always who the seem to be.
Very true.
especially not on the internet. And as long as we learn from our mistakes, they aren't so bad, are the?
they* even
There was a question about someone here yesterday. Ru and others had doubts.
we are all more alert after the whole nancyboy mess. New people have a slightly higher threshold to climb now.
It's better to be suspicious than gullible, even though many of us prefer to trust.
I missed that, I guess. At any rate, I don't remember it...LOL
I am kinda stupid that way... I keep trusting. But nowadays I do line my trust with a tiny bit of wait-and-see.
My hubby is less trusting than me and often reminds me to be on my guard.
good hubby :)
Very good.
I'm kind of cynical as well. When both Colonel Gadaffi's and Sadam Hussein's daughters contacted me by e-mail to help them store their money, I didn't believe them.
lol... almost went to my son's room to ask him why he wasn't on his way to school. Had my hand on his door already when I realised it is Saturday.
So cynical!
I believe, basicallyl, we want to be trusting....but every now and then we need to be aware that all people are trustworthy.\
you didn't? Jeez Haz, you can take it too far, you know.
are not trustworthy.
I know. And so many bank officials in Burkino Faso who need to look after the money of clients who have died in plane crashes.
I just have my doubts about them. Like I said, I'm cynical.
you mean you don't help those either? Haz, you shock me.
Oh, Haz, that must have been tough to handle.
Alarm ells start ringing when there are links to follow to find out about these crashes. I just wonder how many people are gullible enough to fall for these scams.
We get too many cold call about viruses in our computers! Hubby leads them on - we have macs but somehow they don't seem to know that!
enough to make it worthwhile for the scammers, apparently
lol Liz
brb
Too many. I really hate people who try to take advantage of gullible people.
I do too, Lizlin. Elderly people are especially vulnerable and it's despicable to prey on them.
Internet makes it too easy.
that's the thing. It is often elderly people who are duped by it. The young generation has grown up with it all and knows to ignore those kind of mails.
General rule - if it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn't.
Meanwhile, Colonel Gadaffi's daughter continues to seek someone to stash away her millions...
True
poor woman. I mean, to have such a father first, and then this.
She's had a hard time, that's true.
I can relate, you know. I know what it is to feel like a Cassandra.
Telling the truth but being roundly ignored?
exactly
Or should it be soundly ignored? Not listened to, at any rate.
yeah. Though in my case it might be because it is my name, lol.
Lol but a lovely name.
yeah am happy with it, grin. And every now and again, people do believe me ;)
Three lovely words 'You were right'.
:)
oh, I love your icon, Haz!
It's funny, isn't it?
very
Lol haz
I was once told that when serving a meal that you knew wasn't great to follow that maxim 'Never explain, never apologise'. Don't give the gu5/16 any hint that things might not be ticketyboo.
Good advice
good advice. My therapist sometimes reminds me of it. To save explanations and apologies for when they are really needed.
I'm back.
guds
I think so. If you're told there's a problem, you'll start to look for it.
sorry
lol peach, nice comeback. Welcome back :)
LOL thanks sprite
Fair enough, if people are waiting for their meal and the kitchen is full of acrid smoke, at that point you could probably say sorry but you want to be spontaneous and go out to eat instead.
lol Haz!
Probably evacuate in that situation!
my girl was performing last night, a few songs for small company. Her teacher said the same thing: if something goes wrong, pretend it is as it should be and people will think so too.
How did she get on, sprite? Did she enjoy the audience?
That's wonderful sprite. You must've been very proud of her.
she did very well. And yes, she enjoyed it. She got a lot of applause and I could see she loved that too.
I am, Liz. Took a lot of courage. And she did it, and did it well.
So happy for her.
That's wonderful, it's such a thrill to get applause and to know that all the work has been worthwhile.
it is. Only a year back you couldn't hear her over the guitar, she sang so softly. And now for an audience. She's grown so much.
Fantastic.
And it's lovely for you to see her mature and develop her talent.
yes it is. We were a very proud dad and mum last night. Well, still are, but right now it maybe shows a little less.
Makes it all worthwhile, doesn't it?
true, peach!
Goooooooooood morning fellow Babblers xx Would somebody kindly tell me how many words today please? Looking at this grid I'm thinking around the 250-300 mark xx
286
Great guess!
You're a good guesser.
morning worzel, 286 today, 4x9, 8x8
Good morning, worzel.
Wow what a guess, and thank you all and good morning to you Liz Haz Sprite and Peach. How are you all today? xx
Hi worzel
Hi Liz xx
Good morning, worzel. I'm a bit cold, boiler has problems and we're waiting for the boilerman to come and tell us if it's the end of the road for the boiler (20 years old).
how unpleasant, Haz
Awww sending big warm (((((hugs)))) to you Haz xx
Sounds like winters setting in over there!
I suppose it had to happen sometime. Maybe it's not as bad as we think but when we described the symptoms, even he, eternally optimistic boilerman, started talking about maybe needing a new one.
it sure is, Liz. Temps have dropped dramatically.
Haz, please don't go to sleep until the repair man sees it. I had one catch on fire in the middle of the night, many years ago. It could have been very bad.
Radiating Queensland warmth over to all of you.
look on the sunny side, Haz... a new one will be much more cost efficient. You will spend less money on heating after replacing it.
It's ok, peach, it's switched off and is in the garage away from the house.
what a scare, peach!
Does anyone know if Mum is coping alright (Grannyrose)
Oh, that is good.
she is, worzel. Rose slept for 10 solid hours last night and feels better for it. She is having dinner now and will probably be back after.
She had a really good nights sleep - 10 hours, so was brighter today.
She was on earlier.
I'd actually be happy to replace it, the boilerman has always persuaded us to let it go on for as long as possible.
Well if anyone sees her and I miss her can they send her my love and tell her I'm thinking of her please? It was a year ago today that I lost my Mum-In-Law to be. Life is hard sometimes. I hope she's ok xx
lol I bet, Haz... after replacing it, you won't see him anymore for quite a while. Or he should be the one that does the yearly checkup.
Well, it seems that he is an honest person. Many would just want to sell you a new one.
It'll make a huge difference, Haz it did for us ( when I lived in London of course)
Yes, he's been coming to us every year for many years. He always comes in for a cup of tea and a chat.
You know roses surgery is postponed until dec 2?
He tells some great tales of having to chase people to get money out of them.
I knew she was postponing the surgery, but it's good that she doesn't have to wait too much longer. Poor Mum is really having it tough. Everything seems to happen at once when it happens, doesn't it?
I always love listening to those inside stories. We offer all workmen and maintenance people coffee and it is true, they often have the funniest stories.
Bbl
it never ra5 but it pours, yeah
Hagd
bye Liz, take care, *hugs*
cu later liz x
Bye, Lizlin.
Hugs to you all :)
bye Liz
hey pug! Was just thinking I was missing you. Thanks for your wonderful hug card :) And your sweet words.
Yvw Sprite--waiting for the headache to calm and it is now
ah am so glad. So sorry you have to struggle with those headaches so often.
how is your sister doing today?
well i'm gonna pop off for a bit (need my coffee and nicotine fix). will be back in a while xx

bye worzel
Reminds me of a joke - "My dad scarred me for life when I was a child. Said he was gonna pop upstairs - so he went upstairs and popped!"
got a letter from Doc yesterday and he wants us to start counting carbs. So been online finding out what I can
later!!!! xx
another day job, pug :(
yeah I know
I think I do as much paper work as him-lol
lol I think so too. Did I tell you you are a beautiful person? :)
Iam so glad all went so well for your daughter Sprite
Does anyone have et6-18? I really could use a clue, thanks
hm no, not yet. Will help look.
ahh thanks Sprite--now you got me blushing
ah, found it. E + work very hard + vowel
just stating the truth, pug. And a blush looks good on you :)
Thanks so much, sprite.
yvw peach
OO gave me a site to check out and on it, it had a quiz to take--wasent too good on the score-lol
Howdy Peach--hope things are well with you today
hehehe as long as it was fun doing it.
Cant say the outcome was too fun--lol---at least I wasent at the top
Much better today, pugs. We were wondering where you were and suddenley, there you are. We are all glad when you spend time with us.
carbs are difficult, pug. You know it. They are hidden in almost anything.
amen to that, peach
thanks Peach--been here listening with my eyes--had such a bad headache I didnt want to dampin anyones time
I keep track of starches and sugar already
you wouldn't, pug. You are welcome here with or without headache.
whoot, one to go...sprite have something to tell you, which i know you will understand. apologies pugs, will include you in email, but maybe you will not fully understand.
its to drop down to 14 tonight--burrr
np Rose
Oh, my Dear. Do bundle up really well.
I'm from KY, you know.....I remember just how cold it can get.
write away, rose, I love penpalling with you. And *hugs*. I know it is really tough at the moment.
thats not too far from me Peach
how long has it been that you left KY Peach
hi all
I know. I'm not sure my arithritis could take extreme cold these days. I have pain every day with the Post Polio and the arithitis just doesn't help. But your prayers do.
morning Joso
hi joso *hugs* How are you today?
pain is a bitch, peach, I know. It spoils your fun and eats up your energy.
so glad it does Peach
good, how about you all
better now that my headache subsided
We moved to GA in 1977 and I lived here until I had the two strokes and my daughter took me to conn. and refused to let me come home....I was there 7 years, until something really bad happened and I moved back here. Been here for almost 4 years now.
Hey there, joso. Wondered where you were.
such a terrible time for you it sounds like Peach--Hope life is better for you now
laboring on the grid
with the elf, Joso?
It is better now, pugs, in some ways. At least I don't have to fear for my life every day.
joso, sorry mate, was rapidly inhaling last of the macaroni cheese. doing much better after 10 hours sleep last night.
with all that help tech can provide, still haven't found an elf
well thats good Peach--hope it gets even better
Thanks, hon.
poor peach...not something anyone likes to have to deal with..particularly when feeling so vulnerable, as you were.
so glad you got some good rest, and the appetite seems good too... cured send her home
Rose, glad to hear you got a good nights rest. That alone will help you get through things with a better state of mind
pugs, when email arrives, i hope you will understand, hun.
Rose, I've heard about elder abuse for quite a while but I never, in a million years, would have thought it would happen to me.
if not I will ask Sprite-lol
so glad you are in a better place now, woa, thats what they say when you are dead, so glad you are in a better place without being dead peach
thats awful Peach
Joso, I'm still laughing.....and I needed to. That was so well put. Thank you.
It was probably the worst time of my life....but here I am. God is good.
hugs Peach, so glad He got you out of that
Thanks, pugs.
the accidental humorist strikes again
Joso you have your fws on this? If so congrats
Your timing was great, joso.
no, got all the 4's and 5's but one 4
rose, back at you :)
peach, how horrible! Am so so sorry to hear that. So glad you are safe and at peace now.
you should read the email describing my father's death, me and my wife come off looking like the keystone cops
lol joso!
peach, thanx for sharing. i understand, truly i do. now the mother is gone, i can finally speak out. my father almost raped me when i was 12...it was only because i screamed, that i escaped.
How horrible Rose!
oh God, rose. How awful. The 'almost' part doesn't even matter much, did you know? The impact is just as huge and bad.
I got molested by my uncle's boss when I was in the fourth grade and my dad blamed me for it--so I kind of know the feeling Rose
sure, blame the child. Am so sorry, puglet.
Its just something you never forget, its always on the backburner
yeah!!! pugs, and all who have been molested in any way by their elders...and it's not just females...it's okay to feel relief and elation at their passing.
it is, pug. It never leaves us.
true, rose. And with a narcissistic parent it is even stronger.
Oh, Rose, I am so sorry. That has stayed with you all the while, hasn't it? This abuse wasn't sexual, I was attacked in my wheel chair....by grabbing both of my arms and squeesing them.....I was trying to get onto the front porch to put up the doggie gate when he grabbed me.....daughter pulled him off me twice, I called 911 and the officers wanted to arrest him.....it was a felony.....my daughter is a heart patient and there was no way that I could risk her having her heart stop.....I don't think I could have gone on living if I was the cause of her death. He tore the tendons in both arms, injured my rotater cuffs and had hematoma from elbow to shoulder on both arms.....Three doctors and two attorneys wanted to take him to court.....I had a lady stay with me until I could get things pulled together and get away from there. None of my family asked if I was hurt and would not talk to me because I called 911. It really hurts....but I have friends here and in KY and ALL of my peeps here and I am going to be OK.
man! we must have the largest line of diry laundry here-lol---never would I think of airing out stuff like this
oh dear God... peach... am so so sorry! And freakin' mad at the person doing that to you! Good for you you called 911, and wtg on getting away and getting your life back.
sometimes you have to, pug. Or it will fester inside and ruin everything else.
well Peach you had to do what you had to to protect yourself. And its their lost to lose your friendship.Thankfully you are away from there and can have friends now that really cares
peach.....hurrah for you....you have vented...at that is so important....not good about family....was it a family member which attacked you? you don't have to be specific...just a yes or no answer will be enough.
Has your arms healed Peach
My ex-husband is a child molester....I found out in 1992. And I won't tell you all the horrible time that was. And since I became able to tell the story, I find that so many people have had the same thing happen in their lives and it does help to be able to talk with others about how things were then and how they are now.
horrible, peach. And I agree, talking about it, sharing with people who understand, makes a lot of difference.
Hi again guys xx
oh, peach, we share so much...you and i...my ex molested my youngest son...
hey ya kid...done with the grid already?
the bastards
helps eliminate the unwarranted shame felt by association, among many other things. often tough to get it out, but so much better
Hi Mum - no, I wish! Horrible that I've come in whilst these conversations are happening. I feel for you all - and the little ones involved xx How's you Mum? xx
so true, joso
joso, also helps when you find a truly decent man....sic hubby...and yourself....and ruru....and crossy
I dont know what happen to mine, being so young. But for my father we had a rocky relationship most of the time I was home. But after marring and leaving I was able to somewhat forgive him and go on.The forgiveness was more for me I think.Although I cant say there wasent any loving feelings there
and my love too. Yay for good men.
worzel, had a good night last night, slept 10 hours...coping much better today. {{hugs}} you
Son-in-law. The surgeon told me that they would probably give me problems as I get older and he was right. I had physical therapy when I got back to GA and that helped tremendously. I couldn't even raise my arms. The hematoma finally was absorbed and the physical therapy helped that. I'm sorry, I don't mean too be dumping all this on you all. I guess I'm saying that you all can tell me things and maybe, just by listening, I can be of help to someone.
forgiveness liberates the one doing it, pug, indeed.
(((hugs)))) back Mum xx Thinking of you at this sad time. Was a year ago today I lost my future MumInLaw - she was a royal pain in the ass, but she was marvellous and loved me as one of her own. xx
peach, you have every bit as much the right to vent a bit here as any of us. Am glad you got it off your chest. You went through hell. And you survived. Sorry that your injuries act up now, but I admire your courage and strength to survive this all.
awww worzell, so sad
Peach no need to be sorry for saying anything here
peach, any time you want to vent, but not here, my email is there, sweetie
yea. My fiance was unable to cry for months after she passed, but when she did it flooded out for days, which was good. She's very quiet today, as you can imagine, but hopefully I'll give her a smile or two along the way - and hopefully you'll be able to smile again soon Mum xx
here to be dumped on peach, I feel it is a great privilege to be someone's trusted confidant, and I bet the others do too
well put, joso
such amazing people on here. Really love you lot xx
a big hug to all!
rose is right too, this is an open forum, most babblers are way cool, but you may want to keep some stuff back for direct e-mail
Oh, God, Rose! How is your son now....does it still haunt him? I will be praying for him too..
thanx, worzel...i think the secret to a long and happy life together is...share a joke/laugh everyday...tell each other you love them and never want to lose them everyday. DH and i never part, for even a few minutes, without saying...i love you.
where is OO and his quotes? He always knows which ones to put on blog=lol
I'd also like to extend a big hug to my future sis in law ChrissieDee who comes on here from time to time, as she will be feeling very low today as well xx
Thank you, joso. It is good to know that there are men like you and the others here who are decent men. Thanks for the kind words and caring.
my love and I are about the same, rose. Always hugs and cuddles at leaving and coming back. Sharing jokes. Telling I love you to eachother. And not trying to change the other. Plus always wanting the best for the other. That about sums it up.
Mum your words are always so warm and thoughtful - even when it is YOUR time to have kindness showered on you. You truly are a blessing xx
We all you ChrissieD, I think. *hugs* Chrissie!
Me and my fiancee are just like big 10 year olds at heart. We NEVER leave each other's side and even if we have to we never stop texting each other. We're always joking, always taking the mickey out of people in the street (in good fun, obviously) and just basically act like giggly teenagers. Such a silly pair, really, but i've never felt anything like this before
we all KNOW ChrissieD, I meant to write
blessings to you Wor and it will always be so for you guys
Thank you worzel for sharing.....am so glad that things are going well for you. Blessings.
well I'm going to disappear again for a bit, girlfriend's just woken so off to make her a cuppa (and sneak a crafty ciggy). You lot take care and see you soon. Thanks for all your kind words and Mum - you take care, you hear? xx
looo-oove chrissie....please pass on my xoxox to her
bye worzel
bye Wor
xoxox, worzel
I will pass on all your wishes and hopefully see you all in a bit xx take care xx "poof", as they say!! xx
on a lighter note--you guys should see my floors--such a pretty pattern of muddy dog prints! Guess what I will be doing here soon-lol
lolol pug... they keep us busy, don't they. But they are worth it.
got some lovely pug paisley floor designs going on there
lol--they sure do Sprite---I got great dane prints mixed with boxers and a smiggon of pugs and a hines seven--lol
lol
for some reason I always forget your husband is living with you too... I always picture just you and your sister.
They are wonderful, I am sure, pugs. I have two rescues and they are just so loving.
even better, varathane the the floors to preserve them, lol
lolol joso! Floor art
yeah Sprite, theres three of us here-----I love em too Peach--wish I knew how to invent some mop boots to put on them as they come in-lol
can they freely walk in and out then, pug?
not a bad ideal Joso
during the warm days yes--but in the winter no--I got about a half of acre fenced in for them. But after everyone takes a potty break on wet days I have a new pattern on the floor
If you could invent those boots, I bet you could become a millionaire. ( but then your troubles would really begin) LOL
:D
thats probally true Peach
Mine won'g get off the back patio when it rains....little woosies. As you can imagine, I have spoiled them badly.
Hubby has two rabbit dogs(which Iam not allowed to touch---hes afraid I will ruin them making pets out of them)
Sprite my pug wont either. I have to take her out and shes afraid of the dark too
my beloved friend robyn actually taught her dog to wipe it's feet on the mat as it came indoors...it was so funny, her saying ' wipe your paws' and then watching the dog comply.
that would be really nice Rose
Terra is a woozie too. When it ra5, he wants to do his business and then hurry home. But he loves being rubbed dry, that is a whole game for him.
omg, can they learn to do that? That is so cool! Might try with Terra, lol.
Now that is a feat, Rose. No pun intended. I'm not sure mine would be able to learn that.
Rose does your bird make any messes
what kind do you have Peach
a dog feet feat. Nice unintended pun though.
hi my babble dears
hi pink :)
hey pink
Hey there Pink-how are you
hey dear sprite, pug omg look at this grid
joso howdy
Well, I'm not really sure....one is part hound and the other has some terrier in him. It has taken over three years for the hound to know that everyone who comes in the house is not going to hurt her. She was battered and was to be put down the next day when my neighbor rescued her. She is still very alert but is so loving.
it is a good one, pink. Big but with lots of series.
Hi there, pink./
ty sprite
gap hi how does your friend like babble
doesn't it break your heart, peach? Dogs with ptsd. It is terrible. But so good she found a home with you.
My boxer I got from the pound is so afraid of a flyswatter---if you pick one up she off hiding
l I often hate people because of the way they treat the beautiful animals
poor thing. That says enough, doesn't it. Can't believe people can hurt something so trusting and vulnerable.
It is horrible, sprite.
I know nothing about her background--she was about 7month old when I got her and they had her about 4 months so whatever happen to her must of been when she was very young
Shadow was terrified of thunder and lightning, it was hilarious, he never figured out he could not fit the same under furniture he did as a puppy.
beating a puppy with a flyswatter. Ok, my brain just ground to a full halt. Cannot understand it.
aw poor thing, joso, lol
is that why you called him thunder
sorry miss typing er
my adopted shih Tzu was a
I called him shadow
afraid of thunder cars dropping anything hard to know what to do.
my mind and fingers were not on the same page-sorry lol
lol pug
when I worked for the HS we had a dog come in that was so afraid of thunder it got stuck in a dryer vent trying to get into the house
that is heartrending. Am glad Terra isn't afraid of anything. Never had something bad happen to him in all his life. When there is thunder, or fireworks, he looks at us and when we don't react, he doesn't either.
I'm suddenly exhausted.....can't imagine why. Thank you all for being who you are. I must begin to wind down. It's 5;35AM here. And I still need to do a few things.....Blessings to each of you.
one of the saddest thing I seen happen was a family brought in a 15 year old collie(like lassie) they gave her up due to getting a new puppy. Was so sad and I was so angry with those people
have a good one gap you are a nice person
bye Peach and may God go with you through out the day
rest well peach
*hugs peach* Take care, dear friend.
got a grid to finish, see you all later
how can they do that? Jeezzz, how heartless.
bye joso, have fun
bye Joso--later
joso bewell
I know Sprite--the poor thing was lost and who is going to adopt one that old
can't believe some people
I was watching Willie Wonka -lol--I like that movie
pug, what are the odds... we watched that movie last Sunday, with all 4 of us, and enjoyed it so much. The old one, with Gene Wilder.
thats the one I was watching too--lol
you girls are simpatico
those songs from the UmpaLumpa's... such earworms! I keep singing them.
around this time of the year they have some nice family movies on
:) pink
I love watching Little Lord Fauntleroy too, every year. A true feelgood movie for me.
I havent seen the newer one Sprite--is it as good
oh yeah thats a good one too
no, not really, pug. It misses the charm of the old one. But the effects are of course much better.
back...answering so many emails...and sending out of several more...all to do with the mother...
they have a noah and the ark coming out thats suppose to be really good--staring Russel Crowe
blessings grannyrose
that is a good thing, rose. You can write it off and get it out of your system.
*grin* she would have loved the irony of that
thanx pink
Here I though you fell asleep at the keyboard
((((Rose))))). I'm sorry for your loss.
hi Soodle
hmmm, pugs...not quite yet...close...but no cigar...lolol
Hello Soodle
awww, soodle, thanx for your kind words
Hi all. :-)
hi there soodle
139 left only and lots of blanks
good job, pink
ty doesn't feel good yet but the grid did flow you were right
Iam biding farewell to all--need a brk from this plus I got a floor calling out to me-lol---hugs to each one and wishing all a good night and good day--later!

lolol
look now, sun is coming through! And I am having a lazy day, rose... my love and girl are off wildwater canoeing. Son is still in bed and I think will be gone later today. All I have to do is walk Terra, shop groceries for myself for dinner and one load of laundry.
sounds almost luxurious, sprite. hope you enjoy...perhaps a short walk in the sunshine?
absolutely. Terra loves it. I cannot walk fast and I always let him sniffle to his heart's content. I walk on and then after a while he comes running after me, ears flapping, tail wagging, all happy dog.
sniff, I think. Sniffle is more like when you have a cold, right?
fireflies! Good grid today.
so long as it's terra's ears flapping, tail waging. not sure how it would appear with sprite running along street with ears flapping, tail wagging. l.olol
WTG SPRITE!!!!
lolol quite the image!
rose, my darling, I am off to enjoy the sunshine and start the laundry. *hugs* to you. Feel free to email me about your thoughts and feelings whenever you like, ok? I am with you through the whole thing.

oo - I think Hitchens is on to something..
hello, bojazz. Haven't seen you in a long time
how're you ruby?
bbl, bye everyone :)
<--loayhes November and not looking forward to winter, but healthy, at leaty
hi all fw
and you?
doing fine and working hard, lol, and doing better than I deserve...
{{joso}}
I am a mud puddle short of a dry road
hey ruby, g'dat o-o
*g'day
nah, you deserve the bedst!
snow ... minus temps ... good day for a long sleeve shirt
misspellings accepted before 9 am
it's a great day, house is cold as the wind blows off all the heat, rain edging on sleet coming down, stretched out on a comfy couch, pillows all about, coesy blanket wrapped around me in my slob clothes, fire in the fireplace, a nice slush pile of new books and some fresh movies. don't have to be anywhere or do anything till monday morn.
joso, it sounds perfect!
sounds like my kinda day!!
got chelsie buns warming in the oven too, smells great, but I'll have to climb out of my nest to get them soon
while you're up, pls get me a bun, too
chealsie buns should not be served caijin style
(like the old New Yorker carton "since you're Grant, why the hell don't you get me one"
good morning everyone:)
here you go ruby, watchout, sticky
hi crossy
{{crossy}} my two favorite big, fuzzy fellows!
howdy,bojazz
hey crossy, are you enjoying the miserable weather too
oops, hey bojazz, chealsey bun?
it is downright nasty up here.i have not checked todays update, but we are to get squalls off the bay giving about 10cm to 30cm of snow
absolutely - thx
((ruby)) lol@ fuzzy fellows
I love a misirble day when I don't have to brave it.
crossy - what's worse, the weather or the circus in Toronto?
here you go, one for the horse?, how about an ethereal chealsie bun for you crossy

curcus le rob ford
circus*
lol
rob ford, I'm a fan! watching with horror....lol
oh him, ain't he a hoot, fortunately we don't give the mayer any power
it is like a fascinating train wrech right in front of your eyes that just geeps going on and on
wreck
keeps
can't they force him out?
still has alot of support, kind of sad
he will most likey just be a puppet figure with little power till next election
no, only vote him out next election
a big fat noisy puppet! lol
it's funny how he is on international news, overshadowing all the truly bad stuff going on
not a puppet
they will keep him busy cutting ribbons on new supermarkets and nodding in agreement in front of him while keeping their own council behind him and just running the city
on the other hand,it could get ugly
he is the only representative of an extremely valid platform, so sad he was not up to the task
uglier than it already is?
well,i will not judge him overmuch unless the chance arises that one day i am mayor of a largy city myself.then i can make a judgement
it's probably much funnier from this distance :(
large
the old boys network sure to regain power now, and city gov will go back to being raped by the developers and not serving the people again, a tragidy on so many levels
I shouldn't make fun, Fr politics are ridiculous, just more quiet
hey, joso,i wonder if you guys ask hurricane hazel nicely,if she would run your city as well as hers.? she has a ton of experience
she would be great, but she is retiring, and would never give up Mississauga anyway
lol,she rules her city with a iron fist and has been mayor for 1000 years;)
The Devil's Dictionary (1881-1906): POLITICIAN, n. An eel in the fundamental mud upon which the superstructure of organized society is reared. When he wriggles he mistakes the agitation of his tail for the trembling of the edifice. As compared with the statesman, he suffers the disadvantage of being alive.
it's so sad ford self destructed so gloriously
and on international tele
lol.love it o-o is there an actual devils dictionary i can read through?
yep
Hi hi
crossy, do you remember all the trumped up charges they pestered hem with prior to these?
hello cosdem, haven't seen you in a long while, too
yes,i do,joso
howdy cosdem
hey cos
Yeah got RIF
Got rid of Internet but got it back
for those looking, The Devils Dictionary is written by Ambrose Bierce
POLITICS, n. A strife of interests masquerading as a contest of principles. The conduct of public affairs for private advantage.
was harassed from the day he took office, I think he collapsed under the presure
and the book is available free for copy and use at www.gutenberg.com

MARRIAGE, n. The state or condition of a community consisting of a master, a mistress and two slaves, making in all, two.

any GN words?
all gu's
ok thanks
good morning folks.
hi phand
morning phan
how goes it, Hurshy?
had a scare this morning but all ok now
what kind of scare, if you want to share
glad all is ok!
marty, my cat who has kidney disease and lymphoma
gno gn words
he threw up and then he still was clearly not feeling right, he was panting and breathing heavy and i was like, is he dying??
well it turned out he was trying to pass some firm stool.
oh, that is scary. I hope you have more time with him. How old is he?
once he got them out he felt fine.
he's 13.
scarry, furball in the end?
i think it's just that he hasn't had firm stool in so long that his body has forgotten how to deal with them. i don't know if his muscles can relearn that at this point or not.
I have a 15 year old cat who is headed to Kidney disease and a 10 year old cat that currently has an abcess on her left front leg.
has his diet or something changed lately?
i switched his probiotics from fortiflora (junk) to proviable (good) so now his stools are doing better
but maybe he can't handle it
I expect the first time is the hardest, maybe it will get easier with practice
is he on a wet food diet? That helped my kitty when he always had small hard stools and his bowels were always full. I started with adding fiber to his food, but now he doesn't need the added fiber his stools are always moist and stinky
no, unfortunately he's been used to a certain kibble for years and has refused all attempts at diet change. my other two are now getting on raw food and it's great.
jeez, we should pay this much attention to our own poop, lol
hate it when cats are stubbern like that!
marty is very very stubborn about food.
Nbt
well done cos
if i had known when they were kittens, all that i know now, well, he might not be sick at all. could have started him on raw food then when he was accepting of things.

oh actually it looks like now it is up for play on the google.com too
cannot get google uk
you just have to click the play button
i do not have that option
hahaha - that game's fun (but i stink at them)
when i click "play i see alist of games
i just clicked on one of the men and a game box opened
:( just as well, need to get moving. long dance last night.
What are these Google games?
i click the men and get the google seach for dr who
weird
i went to the site hurshy posted - on the google banner, there are a bunch of men (and a tardis underneath) - in celebration of the anniversary of the dr. who series, google put up an interactive game in the banner
the fourth level is soooo hard when the weeping angel comes
oooh, i will try again later. i need a new machine, my os is hosed
You know you're old when you remember seeing the very first Dr Who.
I watched this thing go around a rectangle for several minutes .... the thing did it very well.
I have never watched Dr Who.
i got about as much out of it as you did, o-o - i was never any good at those kinds of games
(neither have i, scrabbs)
Good Morning - finally a nice size grid
I am old and have no idea what dr who is or what the object of the game is
you are so lucky haz
hi, river
Hi River
Happy Saturday All!
i wish i were old, i missed so much good stuff
hi haz!
Buon giorno, Hego.
My memory of the first one is being terrified and hiding behind the settee.
Seems like it might be good for insomnia
Hi Scrabs
lol Haz
hego :)
my impression is that that is a lot of kids' first memory
It was just very alarming for a 5 year-old.
Hi Welki dear
dr who is a first memory?
Funnily enough, I also retain a vivid memory of being in the bath and my father shouting up the stairs, 'Kennedy's been shot'
sad day for me
i remember the day jfk was shot very clearly
i guess that is right around when you started forming lasting memories
One of my first memories is VJ day.
Yea, i am that old.
I have a fuzzy memory from when I was 3.
awesome, hego
jmc was talking last night about a 'memory without a home' - the phrase struck me as being beautiful and sad - she asked if others had fragments of memories, too
everyone was in the streets yelling "the war is over"
It was scary to me as a little kid because all the adults seemed beside themselves.
if i were old NOW, then i wouldn't have to be around for all the horrible stuff that is probably going to happen in the future
would listen to the radio reporting about the korean war.
You missed all the great rock groups Hursh.
That's a very pessimistic outlook, hurshy. What about the nice stuff that might happen?
true Haz.
but i AM a pessimist, unfortunately.
the things we think re remember as a tot are so odd.
good things MAY happen, but bad things are virtually guaranteed.
Oh, gosh Hursh.
Is there not a saying about not meeting trouble halfway?
ames brosthers .. weavers
brothers
unfortunately i don't seem to be able to help being a pessimist
ah, the folk song era.
No, it's probably in your nature and difficult to change.
You can't change your nature.
now i have ronnie gilbert singing, 'goodnight irene' in my head :)
Maybe just your way of preparing yourself for the worst.
murphy's law
I'll see you in my dreams.
and now resistentialism
sort of my view, too - hope for the best, expect the worst
It's all about survival.
I think I'm basically optimistic but with a healthy dose of realism to stop me from being Pollyanna.
getting through, etc.
I am similar, Hursh.
i try to state five good things each day.
good approach Haz.
malthusian theory in some form seems inevitable
I do make myself focus on gratitude, but reading the news of the world and encountering future adults in my office make me very worried.
hi all
Hi jmc
talk about "clean coal" and fracking does not coincide with reducing carbon footprints
Hello, jmc.
JMC!!!
i am a big believer that it is my job to assume the best intentions of others. . . that always makes things better. . .
clean coal and fracking are two very different issues o-o
I try, jmc, I try.
part of the reason we think things are so bad now is that we hear of things in detail within minutes that we would have heard about as a one liner if at all
one deals with air the other water
true
I remind myself that people have always feared future tragedies.
I don't think it pays to ignore either side, people do evil every day, people do good every day. for every hitler their is a ghandi, for evey lincon there is a stalin. there are more babies dieing yearly than ever before, the infant mortality rate is lower than it has ever been
Now ND has Neo-Nazis trying to take over a small town in ND
i have noticed lately how beautiful the sky is. . . it used to be so smoggy. . . and now it is clear. . .
oh yeah i read about that
Uh, oh, o-o.
there have been guys with prejudices and guns since i was a pup. . . different names. . .
<-- has admired jmc's tenacity in seeing the good in things for years
i really have to work at welki. . .babbleland has really helped me a lot. . .
<---just noticed the J in the grid, after finding 142 words.
the thing about typing is that it slows me down and i can erase snarky remarks. . . haha
when the US has five percent of the worlds population and 25 percent of the incarcerated and guns are still prized over gun violence ... hard to be optimistic
J is my favorite letter ;-
;-)
it's not too bad today
hi je!
hi TO
don't agonize--organize!
It does appear that American behavior is becoming baser...less civilized, less socialized.
the knockout game has come to my town :(
and RUDE!
one reason we have so many incarcerated was a really interesting conference of the private jail people which was held in colorado. . . i wonder if i can find that article again. . .
I see such rudeness, crassness, lack of good manners in the parents (and thus children) that I see in my office.
there were gangs when i grew up. . . and it was acceptable to hit your kid and wife. . .
and to my county, as well
Good point JMC.
everything has become more casual and manners are among the formalities to go
Good morning!
hi car. . .
Good morning, car.
i'm not saying things are worse today than before. i'm just saying things are always bad and i don't like it!
the lack of simple respect amazes me on a daily basis
((Car))
Parents text and take phone calls DURING office visits, while I am speaking with them.
o-o people do good things, even as down as you habitually are, I've heard you have helped many here find sites that help them understand the problems they and their loved ones are having, and I've seen you give folks a hand with a clue. it may dismay you to realize it, but you are a force for good
many want to go to jail ... they get health care and an education ... prisons are the treatment centers for the seriously mentally ill ... and state budgets are using education prisoners to reduce recidivism .... not much make sense
you will never get me to say things are worse. . . go read the Lois Lenski books. . .
and the knockout game is scarier than many things, to me, because, many things, i know how to avoid by what i do, but this...
True, o-o
i do not know of any one who wants to go to jail. . . that is, imho, a myth. . . .
The snowstorm has begun! I just looked outside and the snow is falling!
in texas for example they teach the women to be beauticians. . . but you can't get a license if you are felon. . . .
hi car
Snow makes Scrabs happy!
is it pretty scrabs?
Hi Car and joso
Yes, it is pretty, and soon everything will be white. My local sister will drive down here soon. She is 30 miles north.
hi scrab
there was a man who committed a crime to go to prison because he did not have health insurance. I have represented criminal defendants who commit crimes to get off the winter streets
please descibe it. the only snow i want this year is vicarious snow
sounds good to me TO
I am not blowing smoke
Fluffy snowflakes are falling straight down. I am surrounded by trees--hemlocks, maples, and beeches, so soon the trees will hold the snow.
i am sure there are a few o-o
I do know parents of my patients, mostly males, that are repeat prisoners.
more than a few
nice vicarious snow, Scrabs.
you can think what you want ...
so your sister is staying over and you will drink cross country skiing and drink cocoa. . .
first column n, anyone?
ah, I use to love to sit on the (wide windowsill covered rads) in front room and watch the snow falling under the street lights
I will take pics later and post them on FB.
and good morning everyone
Hi Flo
lovely Scrabs, will watch for them
we seldom have snow here
I will look for them Scrabs.
morning flosey
I have one, Hego, but am not sure which word came from there
Hi flosey
as to repeats. . .one of the arguments of prosecutors is that if the defendant has been convicted before they are more likely to be gu***y
I can never tell that either
they are both na5/10
TY for clue, jmc
i like watching it snow. . .it is magical. . .
one is nostril
one is men named like statistician silver
Hotcha, a big grid, at last
ty Hursh
yw scrabs
once one gets into the system, it is hard to get out. for juveniles, you cant spit ont the sidewalk without violating probation. That was a strong argument we'd make to the clients
Hi bichon
t is, jmc
n male name with s on end
and magzel is here too
Happy skiing
that kind of talk is not allowed here ... except in cases of credibility crimes .... the judge would call a mistrial o/w
Hi Bichon
hi flosey and bichon
we only believe in second chances for politicians...
ty Mag
need the other one though
hi scrabbs
singular for nostril
i understand what you're saying, jmc, but i think that's more of an attitude than an argument
my experience is that not all prosecutors or judges follow the rules. . . but my hubby was a defense attorney so i have my own bias (loves you anyway welki and you know it)
my experience is that not all prosecutors or judges follow the rules. . . but my hubby was a defense attorney so i have my own bias (loves you anyway welki and you know it)
scrabbs, it won't take that

oh hi magzel

J is grey now.

(how about that - asked for stats, i actually gave stats! *mimosas for all!*)
ir4/4--flower or eye part
ty . . . see you can too do stats. . . :)
ty scrabs
okay, so they were the wrong stats, but they were still stats *LOL*
in 9/54 any clues please
duh! fish me!
gran, I was just going to ask for clues for the biggies. I have zero 8's and 9's
that doesn't mean you can take back my mimosa!
hi gran

ty joso
ooh, tyvm joso.. hi everyone
hi snuffy!
ooooo....ty joso
hi aloy
And Hi Aloy!
Hi Aloy. In Arizona now? How is new baby?
Hello everyone!
I am thinking about that clue, joso
me too scrabs
I got it!
good clue
great to "see" you all! am trying to babble a bit before doing some grocery shopping.. yup, in Phoenix and the baby is just two weeks old and absolutely wonderful.. hubby is walking him around now.. he is an "easy" baby.. so so sweet!
so nice...
nice. . .
I hope he remains and easy baby. Babies' temperaments appear at about week 3, after 2 weeks of being in a post-natal coma.
Awwwwww!
ei8, person synonymous with genius ei9 plural
mmmmmmmm - new babies smell wonderful (most of the time)
haha such a heart warming comment scrabs!
ty joso
ty joso
That's interesting Scrabs

ty for in 9

Sorry, I am a realist so when parents are relieved with an easy baby in those first 2 weeks I warn them. But I also teach the calming techniques--swaddling arms, swinging, shooshing, suckling.
suckling?
et7, et + oriental; ***** but with an alternate vowel to start, et8 plural
of course that is important scrabs. . . i know you are a warm and caring doc!
Babies are so sleepy and dopey those first 2 weeks, then come to life week 3.
A pacifier or fingertip--babies love to suck--their main pleasure.
very interesting.. was just commenting this morning on how he seems to change by the minute.. I go googoo gaga with babies..
Okay, got your meaning
My son was just the opposite. cranky the first few weeks and then settled into his sweet self.
I love newborns---so cool to observe, so wired to survive---rooting and suckling reflexes...
Which he still is.
well i am off for a while. . . bbl and everyone have a wonderful day. . .
Bye, jmc
so babies that cry during the first two weeks are not seeking attention?
bye, jmc..
Bye JMC, good to see you.
bye, jmc
and if anyone sees book wish her a happy Dr Who birthday for me. . .
bye jmc!!!!
*poof*
A cry is definitely a distress signal, one that needs immediate attention. Parents should never ignore crying.
bye je
What do you tell parents when babies cry for a long time and you've tried everything you can think of?
Too many parents are afraid to "spoil" a young infant, but babies have no ability to self-soothe until age 4-5 mo.
I read that crying is a learned technique to get attention ... must be somewhat intuitive if the baby is in a coma
If a parent is losing it then put the baby down and walk away, or bring baby to doc. But there are many things to try.
Not a real coma, just kind of sleepy and dopey those first 2 wks, with brief periods of alertness, mostly to feed.
Crying is not a learned technique in young infants. It is a way to communicate--hunger, pain, discomfort.
When do you start to think colic?
most go. hagd All.
bye hego, nice to see you!
Bye hego!!!
"Colic" = unexplained, excessive crying in an otherwise healthy, growing baby. Two views: one is GI discomfort and now probiotics have been shown to help. Second, high-intensity temperament--some babies react easily and strongly to stimuli.
Colonization of the gut is necessary for healthy digestion, and it takes some time after birth for this to occur. Probiotics can accelerate the process.
Bye, Hego.\
when my daughter was an infant she would cry continuously every night at 5:00 for on hour. Who knows why! Started at about 2 months and last about 6 weeks. Would walk her around the house and rock her. Not hunger not wet - just the witching hour!
joso don't get the et clue. more help please
magzel...It sounds like a type of well, almost....
Just got a call from Weare Animal Guardians - looks like I will be adopting 2 cats - brother - 10 years old - Maine Coon cats - very sweet boys I am told.
River, many babies "lose it" every evening. I think, after a day of overstimulation, they need to let off steam, in a way. Just like us after a long, busy day.
OH!!!!!! Congrats River!!!!!
Yay for you, and the cats, River!
It was kind of funny because I was home with her all day, my husband would come home from work and she would be balling just when he walked in the door!
I LOVE my Maine Coon! But I made myself promise I would never have two males in the house, ever, again.
I didn't get that et- clue either.
et7 et + sushi, chinese and thai are ***** foods, change the starting vowel on *****
they have always been together - the owner is ill and cant care for them anymore. They cannot be separated.
Magzel....try this....you didn't g** the clue + I stayed at the famous Polyn***** Resort in Disney World
ex utero life is SO different than in utero life, so those first few months are so challenging for babies. Their nervous system cannot handle the sensory input.
I did too car, it was great
Good morning babbleworld!
Got it now, ty
Hi Jilly!!!!!!
Lucky kitty brothers! Hi Jill
Any details on Boston meet up yet?
Morning, everyone! OK--someone give me a virtual big pat on the back....I got all my work done today before breakfast!

I would love to come down.....
Yeah!!!!!
Come on down, everyone...love to see you! I have a spare room.
so on a bad note - I got a call from my Doc today confirming I have a herniated disk at L4-5 pressing on the nerve root.......ugh!
yuck River. Sorry to hear that
Oh, River, so sorry. I had the same thing at L5-S1 and have had two back operations. My advice...don't do surgery.
o-o....I know I should know who Maynard G. Krebs is, but I can't get it out of my brain?!?!!
sorry river. but at least you have a diagnosis
Ouch!!!!!!
I have had herniated lumbar discs in the past, 4 prior episodes. Nerve pain is excruciating!
yes had my MRI yesterday - now referring me to a specialist

Thank you!!!!
Hi harpjane!
I really dont want surgery but cant handle this pain in my buttock down my leg any more
{{river}} but very gentle one, nerve pain is the worst
finnnnnaaaallly got it
Almost everyone improves within a few months with conservative treatment--pain meds, PT and time.

The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis
hard hugs are fine - its my lower back that hurts (((Ruby)))
WooooooT! Way to go Magzel!
Hi Ruby!
River, see if your dr. will prescribe neurontin...it's very good for nerve pain.
I've seen photos of coon cats, but never met one. They look magnificent What are their names?
have been to PT, Chiro, Massage therapy, now on steriods....no relief!
.. back.. saw the ra 8 clue, ty.. speaking of which, it has not stopped since we arrived two days ago!
It is brutal, River. One of my episodes lasted 6 mo.
these 2 boys are black - beautiful
hi car.

I took a nap and dreamed that a babbler named beezlejeeze banished me from babble because I was so annoying. How's that for anxiety?
howdy car!

Aloy...I was talking about you and our lunch! You had to be here for all this rain, right?!
Mimi.. am in your neck of the woods.. what is all this ra4 about?
Hello, Aloy ... still doing the synchronized swimming/
but won't you both getto see the desert in flower?
You were the first thought in my mind when I heard we were getting this massive storm.
So sorry river...
hi o-o, duck weather here.. I actually sunk into the clay beneath the xeroscaped yard.. h'mm, time for a diet
It generally doesn't flower this time of year, ruby...spring and early summer are best.
sank that is.. grammar police around, lol
Got to scoot! Have a wonderful day everyone! {{hugs}} all around!!!!
Email me your phone number again, Aloy...somehow it simply went away.....
Bye, car.
Hugs back, car...so good to see you!

I emailed you car.ee HAGD
NM, found it. I pulled a Peri Maneuver.
have to scoot too.. bbs
Well, Jilly, now I feel left out!
I have a pinched nerve, too, but, luckily, it only acts up rarely. I call it the "ice pick" pain and my husband pulls my feet which helps a little
embarassing dental attachment?
it's great that peri has become a babble noun as well as a babblet
I don't get that either, bichon
Bye, Aloy...this rain will probably let up tomorrow and then the sun will return for the remainder of your stay.
LOL...don't be mimi...we are working on a babble meetup in Boston area...wanna come?
keep and pl ... the nine is the act of keeping
Would love to, Jilly....I adore Boston.
You should come down here for lunch a week from Monday with Aloy and me...hey, just a "short" ride?! And bring harp with you!

harp is saving for a trip to Ireland. Sorry

Harp when are you going to Ireland? I am going in May.
the dental thing ends in er and is not in the grid
I'd love to go to Ireland, harp. Hey, crossy is going in the spring next year, you are going, I could go...we could all descend on Soodle....that would knock her socks off!
Ruby, you could come, too!
I want Soodle to come to the Brian Boru Millenium party in Limerick next August
I didnt know crossy was going too - would be funny if we were there at the same time and place
my travel is limited to the mailbox in the building

Ooh. I just found the lu6&7 - tomato vitamin.
No il words yet.
back from my visit downtown. nothing worth buying at the old Strawbridge and Clothier building. I went to the Reading Terminal which was mobbed. I had a very berry smoothie and an egg roll.
and bought a candle to help me sleep. it is called "Sweet Dreams"
I am getting a free turkey from the market today and will be donating it to the local food pantry.

Hi, Peri. Been to RT on a Saturday. It's like being crammed into a Japanese subway tube.

I hate being asses to elbows with that much of humanity. I'm sure the pickpockets make a great living there.
I was very careful with my cross over handbag
that is why I got there early., it gets worse as the day goes on. at least I had a place to sit and eat
good morning, everyone :)
Hiya, nan!

in + night time twinkler
thx cyber
infonzy
damn.. oh twinkler :D
ei 8, please?
albert ei8
ty ruru - saw it, but didn't even try it thinking it is a proper noun
I'm missing the gu 5 after not innocent.. does anyone have it? I just can't find it
slap an "o" ending on the 4,7
thnx erda
before that erda
I found it
thank you anyway
good! and you're welcome.
last et 6, please?
I can't believe the in I missed.. I should hang it up
sorry - not what I need -- et 7-8 combo, please?
kind of like a spring (well ) nan
ty ruru
good clue :)
ra 7 following the wettest weather?
gerund nan
duh - ty peri
its ra7 its pouring the old man is snoring
hi again All
that gerund is coming in handy -- didn't see it last night, so finding the 8's and 9's now!
first si 6, please?
hi hego
hi sweetums
nap in spanish nan
..snicker...
:D
ty ruru
another fish, *sigh*
yw
lol nan..it's full of them
words are really well hidden in this grid
I need to vacuum the house and am delaying
suffix heaven
could you do mine next?
uh.. I have a dog.. there's a lot to do here :D
excuses, excuses
I'm lazy today.. :D
the hair will still be there tomorrow
a man who does the cooking and vacuuming - another sigh ;)
yes, really
I do ALL the cooking
an even bigger sigh ;)
..sigh...
lolol
LOL
I bet you're a pretty good cook Hego
yes, I used to love it and became quite expert.
but after 50 years it's getting old.
andso am I. :)
I made risotto last night .. and while it was good it was lacking something.. I need to work on it.. it is so damn labor intensive
after 50 years, I'd like someone (who shall remain unnamed) to take a turn
LOL NAN
did you put wine in the beginning?
yes
start by sauteing onions?
I did shallots and Onions
throw in butter and Parigiano to finish?
asiago and butter .. yes
of course the stock is mportant too.
maybe that was it.. it was homemade stock.. but maybe it was too bland
used to make my own meat stock for risotto
Sounds like you did it correctly
maybe it just needed more salt.
I felt like it needed some herb or something.. I seared some scallops for the top.. they were great.. the risotto was rich but bland
asiago is not nearly as salty as parm.
that could have been the problem
tradionally, no herbs are used, but you can put what you like of course.
oh wow -- need help with the st's following the unflinching gaze, please
Oh and saffron for the Milanses kind.
got the 7 and the last 8
not there yet Nan
nm, found them all
good going
I felt like a little bit of rosemary would have lifted it or something.. although that might have been too strong
taragon?
I'm getting so hungry here just listening
that would have worked
I didn't have any fresh taragon
hi Bichon
grow some
thanks... I'll try it with taragon next time
hi hego
report back
the problem is that I have to make another pot of stock as it used up all that I had frozen :D
that's a pain
no kidding
I probably will make turkey stock anyway.. and pretend it's chicken :D
that'll be different
there is only so much room in the freezer I have a lot of tomato sauce made up from summer tomatoes
very jealous of that.
you need another freezer.
oh man the tomatoes were great out here this year
I'll bet
et 6, please?
star in french nan
ty ruru
ty Ruru
*!* ta da *!* - easy words for the most part, but very twisty and hard to find

Going to babble off and on...watching THE big football game of the year here in MT..the Brawl of the Wild...113th Cat-Griz game (Montana State vs U of MT)
good luck to your team!
Go Cats!! LOL Married to a Griz...always an interesting day in this household!
:)
I'm watching figure skating on the internet
a kinder gentler sport.
and pettier too
Even though it looks real pretty, it's tough.
As I recall, ice skating and baseball bats didn't mix too well a few years back ;)
Tonya Harding. Would you believe she's a mother now.
:)
Brings a whole new meaning to Rock a Bye Baby....
It doesn't seem to fit does it
Youthful mistakes hopefully....
The woman could have been a millionaire

And it's Saturday night in Ireland. ;)

(((soodle)))
((((Jilly)))) Its lovely to 'see' you. :-)
Doing well Soodle, and yourself?
I'm crosseyed from the s words, but otherwise okay.
Took your statement to heart and am tackling the s's
there's a terrible lot of them.
Barely keeping body & soul together today, Hego! I was at a concert last night - an Irish Folk singer called Christy Moore. I over indulged. :-(. Paying the price now!!!
I saw the tickets. Glad you had fu.
Had a pint of stout ale last night...think I will rename it ail not ale...
hi folks
Oh, twas mighty! If you get a chance, google Christy Moore - Ordinary Man. Written in the 70's, but evenmore relevant today.
Hi Welki, we're at an Irish concert with soodle.
Hello ((((Welki))))
yep, just tuned into christy moore on youtube - right there with you :)
He sang it last night & it was spine tingling. He used to be a great man for the beer, but on doctors orders, he gave it up. Now he's a tee-totaller & totally anti-alcohol.
hello, everyone!
hey dawg!
Hi Dawg
hiya welki, staying warm? Hi hego!
having a chinook type day today - abut 5C! (compared to the -27C windchill day on wednesday!)
brrrrr. not sure what the temp is here, around 0C would be my guess
Brrrrrrrr.....
Hey there dawg...but it is SUNNY!!
hi Jilly! yes the sun is lovely. just wish for a tad bit more heat.

Lol @ sweats & sweatshirts. In this house, that's known as 'fatty clothes'! If there's a knock @ the door, several Soodle relatives dive for their respective bedrooms to 'unfattify' themselves!
4th quarter too.. :(
I go for warmth when needed...sweats today!
c'mon CATS!! be the Cinderella's we know and love!
anyone coming to my door, best expect a messy house and me in my sweats! lol
I know...they have certainly not been in good form the last 2 games...last error here was a turnover
TD CATS!!

hugs from you are always appreciated, jmc
I know some people who do not like to be touched, too bad.
someone pointed out that a person who was sexually abused may find hugs very difficult and that you should check first to see if they are welcomed. . . .
I do check
oddly the person who told me that was always hugging people without checking first. . .
te 6/24?
my great nephew who is 4 is a great hugger
I do too because i don't like hugs from people who i do not consider a friend. . .
{{peri}}

I have a friend who does it and I will try to divert him when I see him soon
I have a friends husband who is like that...
divert the kiss I mean
blech! if i am not kin to them that is out!
i turn my head so that the most is on my check. . . .but still!!
I will say that we should kiss the European way on both cheeks or air kisses or something
air kisses are okay. . . but give me a handshake any day
<-----------!!FW!!
YAY for Jilly!

Air kisses are fraught! Is it a single 'Mwah? Are they going for the double mwah-mwah? Should you turn the other cheek? If so, which cheek.... Bleugh
hi soodle. . . thanks for clearing that up. . .
then there is the cultural variation on two kisses, left and right, or three, left, right left...
or just one
hi mab
i really prefer not to be touched except by my inner circile
i am with you mab. . .
but the culture in which i live is big on touching. . .
circle. i don't even care for most hugs. it's a little creepy

hello mab

hi jilly and everyone
i am off to read for a while. . and happy adoption day min. . .
*poof*
off to soak in oatmeal bath. no cream, no sugar.
Hello Jillyjill! I haven't seen you in awhile. I hope all is well
I am , and hope you are as well. We share adoption day together!
Aren't we so lucky? I admire anyone who is kind enough to adopt. It is one of the best things a human being can do for another. If I had not been adopted I do not think that I would not be alive. My biological parents are not.
Each story is different and each special!

this is all i know: valkyries are sort of battlefield angels of nordic mythology; they take fallen warriors to valhalla, the heaven of warriors. Wagner material - see the ring cycle. not big on teutonic mythology, but wagner was.
Thanks so much, mab. I will look into it more. I thought it odd as they asked for no crying and no funeral.
I need to check emails....will be back at flip. Thanks for the great clues.
how interesting. baldur is a god, son of odin and yegg. valhalla is odin's realm. (looked that up)
wonder if baldur was a good yegg
nyuk nyuk
not sure what his bench signifies. maybe he was a forger of weapons or something.
maybe he was supposed to keep it warm?
....maybe something like.... in wagner he goes out of the world in his ship, i think. something wagnerian.
the ship aflame
i can't abide wagner. so overwrought.
Asgard was the god's realm, Valhalla was a small part of it, set aside for the warriors paradise where they fought all day and pieced themselves back together in time for the evening feast. Balder, an odin son, was the most loved of all the gods.
the bench would be a seat at the feast, at balder's table
charming imagery for an obituary. well done joso. what was his 'bench?
oh!
read my mind
your mayor is pretty wagnerian.
battling on in spite of being stripped of most of his powers. going to pieces and trying to reassemble himself over and over.
Asgard was one of 9 realms, midguard was earth's, hel was the land of the dead (except great warriors)
ok. now name the valkyries.
or not
thor?
wench 1, wench 2, wen....
