thanks jbp for the sa8

lots, called jb, you might want to check the chat archive
someone help me on the th8's
ruru - start with the spice and a vowel _ transgression
start with th 5, 7, 8, 8, 9, 5... starts with a pronoun like thee, thou....use sometimes vowel; a gland begins the series
+ transgression
thanks for that great clue, Dianne
yw
th 7/44 old pronoun + a coal .... in W VA
thanks Dee
thank you
yw
I thought the th gland had a U in it.
isn't this one the plural?
oh
I found the sa 9 finally
care to share ruru?
didn't know there is an sa 9, ty looking
didn't someone call a sa 9?
sa 8 x 2
i CALLED SA8
sorry didn't mean to YELL
sa 8 x 3 sa 9
dictionary has some asian foods, not others. rejects seitan.
sa 8 /40 and pl sa 9/44 to make clean or germ free
sa 8/40 states of being of sound mind (a plural)... no singular here
sa8, soundnesses of mind.
one is anagram of the other.
sa 7/28 and sa 8/40 satisfy to the fullest
still short 1 8...
my germ killer won't let me make it plural...
Mine neither!
heh
Thanks for the satisfy clue!
yw
no matter how often I type it, ignite is not in this grid
no, you can't pluralise the germ killig, just the clear-headedness, which otoh, does not showup in the singular here. COnfused? OF course!
as if I would be any other way. ;-)
yes, the sa 8/40 is pluralised for sa 9/54, mel
Different germ killer - ends in had food
sa 8, 9, 8, 8 ....
that was the missing 8
the only one that is plural is the one with no singular, correct?
help with the mi/10 pls
no .. sa 8 (9 is plural), sa 8 (plural with no singular), sa 8 (singular)
so sa 8/40 x 3 mental soundnesses, cleanup, satisfies...what am I missing?
ty Dee, also have all the 8s and 9s now
wtg!!
and jbp, no matter how many times I type initiate, it won't take...
hey, me too neither, melon!
sa 8 x 4 - dee's string and a 7 and 8 after
Peri, it has two double consonants in it
egad, those th words are mind-boggling. hello everyone

sleep well, jbp, hun. hope you rest well
help with the im7/8 pls
stopping at 108, have all 9s and the 10, missing one 8 and seven 7s. mediocrity tantalizingly out of reach. nite all, it was fun! [poof]
peri, to copy
im 7 and pl im 8... to ape or copy
of course, ty rose and dee
:-) peri
yw
sleep well, melon, dear
oh, the THs are a hoot, the first and last just might be pronounced the same, if that's any help (interchageable vowels or vowel-ish letters) and the th 8/9 is nearly an anagram of a man's name that is also a hay grass. [repoof]
FINALLY
thanks for the sa's and the TH"s dee

Greetings Friends
and i was going to say...where is my darling pugs?...hello sweetheart
Hi Rose
sounds like you need some office help for yourself--lol
You work at a nudist colony cos?
I bet you get exposed to a lot of things
Hi Ruru
Hi again :)
Hi Liz
How are you today, pugs?
fine and you
did you see the new puzzles crossy put on
Very fine, thanks. All still quiet at home?
so far
Yes, they're beautiful - such a lovely place to live - but much too cold for me!
Hope it stays that way.
I cant see much different then being in Alaska it looks like
Ah but I was only in Alaska for 5 days and that was in the summer!!!
I think having so many dark days and nights would be hard to get use to
hey ya liz. have you had a good day? very warm down here.
but I would love to see what they call the northern lights
I agree. It never stays light here after 7.30, even in mid-summer. I really mi4 those long summer evenings from England.
Me too, pugs.
Hi Rose - temperatures not so extreme here now - a pleasant 27 C today - lovely for a long beach walk.
Did you both get sprite's e mail about the salmon? So funny!
wish i lived near the beach...i think it would be lovely.
yeah, liz...
What name does
yes, and Iam glad it came out okay for her
We have a 15 - 20 minute drive but sometimes we'll drive for longer to other lovely beaches.
crossie put on his puzzles?
Me too.
g'day bfd
crosshair
hello all
Hi bfd - yes crossy did (I put on 2 as well)
Hi bf
Ah! Just read the full sentence!
thank you. I am working on Liz's whale puzzle today. Really fun.
Glad you are enjoying it. I've just done the edge to it!
I done it yesterday and I enjoyed it as well
Iam working on crossy's snow fence one now
I have in 9; na 9 and th 9 - what am I missing pls?
That's great, pugs.
Obviously do not type well at all. Finished the edges and the frames inside and now working on the rest. Pugs you are too good at these puzzles. It will take me at least until tomorrow to finish.
Going to look for crossie's puzzles now.\
thanks bf
Enjoy, bfd.
sa9, sa + hair louse egg + past tense of to consume, plural
Thanks Rose - now I understand! Someone clued it earlier and I had the other sa 8 with a similar meaning. Couldn't think how to make it plural!!!
yay, you liz.
And that's the 100 mark!
w2g Liz

lol, thanx pugs, dear
dinner here...xoxox to you all. see you tomorrow.
night Rose--hugs
Found them. Wish there was a way that when any of the babblers entered a puzzle we could access it more easily.
how do you enter bf
Mi4-ed saying bye to Rose :(
you can hit the puzzle button--then hit puzzles by users and type in the name you want(is this how you do it)
Where is the puzzle button?
They're talking about the jigidi site, Maisie.
Thanks Liz
Quite a few babblers have posted jigsaw puzzles on it.
Yes just logged on and had a look.
It can become pretty addictive!
I have a few puzzles I made in jigidi site :) cosdem is my user name.. good night all!
does that mean you are addictive to it Liz-lol
Yup!
night Cos and will check em out
But not so that it gets in the way of me doing other stuff like beach walks!
sleep well cos.
thats good Liz
I might try a puzzle when I've cracked this
BBL - usual sort of time!
lol-okay Liz
bbl
I've been jigidi-ing for a couple of years now -- it's by far the best of the online attempts at jig-saw puzzles. But its pieces are still set in one position -- not turnable as "real" pieces are so I don't find it as interesting and use it less and less these days, and only with the largest size (amount of pices) puzzles. I'm not particularly computer knowledgeable myself: does anyone know if moving pieces around is feasible with the current technology?
good morning all
hi jwr, yes it should be. I only work the largest puzzles myself as well, the smaller ones are over too quickly. It would definitely be fun if the pieces were all over the table, like with real jigsaws.
another thing I would like is to be able to 'shove' a heap of piece to one side.
Sounds like you can't beat a real jigsaw puzzle
hi Maisie, I see it as two different things. I really enjoy jigidi. Lots of puzzles to choose from, and the big ones can be very challenging, especially if they are meant to be. Did one of a heap of coins and it was HARD! but fun. And it is not in the way in the living room or kitchen. But yes, a real jigsaw is wonderful.
I have yet to try the site but agree a big downside of a real puzzle is having it take up space.
..plus not being able to go past without putting a few more pieces in place
lol too true
Must go, chores to do
ok, have a good day, Maisie
there is a jigsaw puzzle site on facebook. its called jigsaw world.. pieces can be moved, highlighted etc. has some good puzzles on it . can make your pictures into puzzles too, but dont think you can do puzzles from others.. oh and good morning..
hi ivesy :)
Hello
hi o-o, glad to see you. Have missed seeing you for a couple of days.
Above zero here.
zero Kelvin, Fahrenheid or Celcius?
F
ah, grin. That is not so hot.
Truly, a heat wave
is it bothering you a lot, the cold?
please may i have a clue for the mi/10
Not at all. The winters have been mind for many years.
hi Jjenny, placing the plates and cutlery in a wrong way?
am glad. It is miserable to be depressed and cold.
than you sprite
yvw Jjenny :)
The rising temps at the poles apparently caused the cold spell. Those who pooh global warming may smirk .... but climate change is serious business
oh I agree. Lots and lots of changes going on and they will have many effects we don't realise yet. I wouldn't pooh global warming, though it does strike me as ironic that the warming of the poles causes extreme cold.
There is an explanation in an article I read but I am not learned at all in the area.
Just a quick hello :)
It is the vortex thing.
Hello, Lizlin
hi Liz :)
Hope you are both well today.
yeah, I read something about it too and it goes over my head. My main concern is, will the Netherlands disappear under the smeltwater. We probably will.
Hope it all went well when your DH met with the boss yesterday.
hi Liz, I am fine, hope the same for you!
Probably (hopefully) not in your life though.
Your e mail really made me smile :)
yeah, reasonably well, Liz. The colleague apologised, sort of, and came up with a load of excuses and reasons that are... debatable. Like being very busy... while only having 2 (!) clients atm. While he should have 8. Things smoothed over and not really resolved, I think.
Well is slippery would in my world. I am functional to a greater or lesser degrees each day.
hahaha yeah, that was me to the T, Liz. Almost cooked the salmon in soy milk.
Hmm! Well I guess an apology of sorts, is at least an apology. Let's hope that things stay settled!
word not would
Hope that today is a more functional day for you.
You might have discovered an excellent new flavour! My mistake!
How do you milk a soy?
no it is not your mistake, lol, I should have realised straight away. And yes, it might be tasty. But blander, I think, without the soy sauce.
Less salty definitely!
the art is in the approach, o-o. If you can manage not to startle it, the rest is a piece of cake.
Very true!
so, unstartled soy turns into cake?
lol
lol :)
seems to be a fine line to walk. Startle it enough not to turn into cake, and not so much you can't milk it at all.
Getting clever here!
good morning everybody
Hi Ruby - hugs.
hi ruby :)
how did the meeting with the lawyer go?
Hope it went well - I'll read back - got to go. BBL. Hugs
bye for now, Liz *hugs*
{{iz}}
{{sprite}}
it is possible that we may have a solution, but it will require meetings with a notary, etc.
will let you know
and it's not the best solution, but will surely help
anything that approaches a solution is a big step forward. Will keep fingers crossed, ruby. Yes please let me know.
phantom" shanghai

Be well, sprite
sine
oops. good morning everyone
Morning, Crossy
Good day to all.
good morning scrabby
Hello up there.
lol.hello down there
so excited. we have epic snowshoe conditions today:)) tons and tons of untouched powder on the mountain and going all the way up to the freezing mark today
that will put it one or 2 degrees below freezing on the hill so things will not get sticky
Wonderful! I will cross-country ski at a park near my friend's home. It is actually a golf course but their are groomed trails in a big loop.
very nice:)))
not excited - we have 4 days of 100+ coming up - can I come over for a week?
I prefer the wooded trails in the park here, but this other place is ok, and there is a lodge with a huge fireplace, so we can have lunch and read there.
BTW, Crossy, I've been meaning to thank you NOT for getting me into yet another addiction: jigidi
Come on over, lynxxx. You can play in the snow with me.
such a nice choice Scrabs
I saw a little girl the other day at the shops with her bunny on a harness (& lead) - very cute. Hope the rabbit was happy abouit it
If bunnies are placed in a harness and lead from babyhood then they tolerate it. I could never get a bunny to tolerate it though.
I ended up with a chewed up, shredded lead.
poor Stew - doesn't like the heat either - BBS
100F is brutal. Do you have high humidity too?
lol, no problem jayk:)))
do not forget to check out my three new puzzles then , jayk. the mrs and I were on the hill yesterday taking some pics and they make amazing puzzles if I do say so myself:))
and the wild turkeys were everywhere yesterday. found massive groups of them under apple trees in the orchards digging up ground apples for a snack
humidity - sometimes - not with this lot
wow - wild turkeys - didn't know they existed. They are destructive? or just good eating or are they protected
I am sorry you are roasting lynx;(( with you were here with crossy:)) my classes are done at 1:30 then it is on with the snowshoes and hitting the woods for an hour or 3 then back home for home made soup and crusty bread slathered in creamery butter:)
they are very good eating and you are allowed to hunt one per year - with a permit
Yes, they exist. Not protected--are hunted. Sometimes I come upon a group of them in the woods and I scare them off. They are low-flying birds.
years ago, Ontario made a trade with Kentucky. we gave them 50 breeding pair of our white tailed deer and they did same with their wild turkeys for us. was a good trade
now in this area of the blue mountains, the wild turkey population is estimated at 10,000
was just reading up - apparently had to be re-introduced to areas where they had been hunted out. Must be slightly scary to come across a group of them in the wild - they are so big
They are skittish and scurry or fly away quickly.
it was great fun. they were so interested in digging up apples the mrs and I were withing 15 feet of them
i have a few pics of them i will turn into puzzles for all of you
so I will expect a v. large picture of them on Jigidi?
snap
yup. but do not forget to check out my other three new ones lynxx
they are called mountain river, snowy fence and snowshoes required
A.lready looked - nice pictures - bit small for me - I am a sucker for punishment
i settled at 330 but when i put up the wild turkeys ,i will make it a 450+ just for you lynxx
TY
here, give me a sec and i will pop it in
as soon as I finish m y current one - up too 11+ hours - I'll do it
ok.it is up lynx. it is called wild turkeys and is a nice 475
You have a picture of bourbon for a puzzle?
i can make one for you if you like, o-o
No, wild turkey is a bourbon brand name
nice Cross - and it will be hard with all those saplings TY
like i said, i can make you a puzzle using a picture of a bottle of wild turkey bourbon if you wish :)
No thanks ...
must go make myself presentable. back in a few
tai

hi TOwl
sa8.40 & 9

does it build from the 5/16?
sa8/9 make germ free
no C'nan

the sa 8/9 combo is not the germ free one is it?...i have the germ free but not the other...

looking the 8-9 combo that comes before mental agilities
there is only one sa 8/9 and you have it, pen
there are 4 sa 8's
hi annie,hi lyn
looking for the first sa 8 and the 9 that follows
Hi Owl

yw
6 left -- all 6, 7 or 8 and not a clue on any of them
se & what is the defi***tion of seitan?
it ia tofu formed into a meat like product i believe.
blech - tofu!
lyn: tell us how you really feel. dont hold back. )
have to agree with lynxxx
right up there with soy
agreed - and cottage cheese
i must get in a nap andfiure out a light dinner. already had bacona nd egs for breakfast, usually have eggs when dancing
i love cottage cheese!
see - C'nan understands
and apparently after a one day babbitcal i can no longer type
lol
love cottage cheese
i do not like tofu but ai do have a recipe for a cheesecake using it that is supposed to fool all
baked tofu cheesecake - now there is something to look forward to
not!
since tofu is a great imposter, i imagine it would. the silken kind can be beaten and used instead of milk to make pudding.
hehehehe
*Not at all interested in tofu cheesecake or black bean brownies*
local middle eastern resturant has adish with spinach and tofu that i like - but don't taste the tofu
someday i will make one and put it into the pb. if we still have one.
lol molly how about black bean tofu choc chippers with carob?:P
I read an article the other day that asked "how many people do you know who regularly eat diet food and drink and have actually lost and kept off a lot of weight?" --- thought that was a good point!
a dietitian told me that research shows that people who drink diet sodas have more trouble losing weight...
i do not see tofu and seitan as diet food. however, feather posted a very credible article on what passed for soy milk here and it is bad for you.
the mass produced soy milk takes shortcuts that the kind produced in japan does not.
yes - I think the key is how much you eat coupled with the combination of foods eaten and the amount of exercise you take. Apparently weight training is the most efficient method of toning up (after the weight loss, of course)
*I really must get around to looking into this further one of these days ;)
i espouse moderation. but there are a few things i will not eat. artifical sweetener is one. even truvia and stevia
margaine is another.
Ew...margarine
but i will place my leftoever crhistmas cookies in the pb for you all?
ditto -- returned to butter years ago and have been off the splenda for a month now -- not as hungry all the time since I went back to using sugar
i have eaten all the broken ones.
that is interesting, nan. the artifial stuff does not promote moderation.
just my opnion, nothing scientific.
and done...bye all...have a nice evening
yay, lyn!!!!
congrats!
et 7, please?
french word for state + belief system...

ye. by the hospital! :)
mountain out of molehill. once they get their hands on you they run it to the ground so you do not sue them.
Hello all.
hi...
and now it is time for crossy's tidbit of the day!!
In a study by the Smell & Taste Research Foundation, the scent women found most arousing was Good & Plenty candy mixed with cucumber.
ewwww....
Yeah Pen, must have thought they meant arousing the bile in their stomachs. : )
lol....
do they even make good & plenty anymore?
hi all. any clue for the 10? wow, so manyt 9s and 8s.
weird. good and plenty and cucumber. good and plenty was licorice and cover of sugar and water hardened.
nito
oops. sorry. luckily not a word. i slipped.
the ten is mi.....a badly laid out set of plates, knives and forks....ends with gerund
got it. wow. ty pebn. super clue. how about some 8s or 9s?

ty pen. great clues.
keep those clues coming.
take the first 4 letter of that last word you clued and add second y to end.
i am all finished with this grid... ;o)
yes and take the first four letters and add the ending for the substance used by violinists on their bows...it's also the stuff baseball pitchers use...
violinists have substance abuse?
you could have bowed me over with that comment
guess these jokes aren't resin-ating with you :D
*Opens the lead balloon window*
LOL
Viola!!!!!!!
hey molly
I thought you would say "Yo yo ma" : P
or annette funi-cello
But I have nothing to bass it on
I need to re-vamp my icon to THE ISLAND OF DEAD PUNS
:D
*We now return you to your regularly scheduled chat of asking for clues, ty and yw*
Good morning all :)
hi liz
Good to wake up to your puns, Ru ;)
I feel like Attila the Pun around here lately :D
:)
Too early for me to do more than appreciate puns at the mo!
Always like coming back to a grid in the morning. Just found 10 words with no difficulty that I couldn't find last night!
fresh eyes.. sometimes it helps me to leave for a few minutes and come back too
especially the twisty ones
I thought you finished yesterday - are you just here for the chat today?
How are Dylan's allergies doing?
I did finish.. i'm just chatting and killing time before a doctor's appointment in a bit
Ah! Waiting - always seems to take more time!!!
Dylan is on antibiotics.. he is dealing with skin issues. it's a drag
hi all!
there is a new allergy drug that we hope may help him that is just coming out
Is it as hard to get him to swallow a tablet as it was with our dog?
Hope that will help him.
Hi Sue :)
hi liz and ruru!
I don't know.. I think it is a capsule .. Hi sue
Hello, sue and Lizlin.
Hi o-o
Pretty icon Sue, looks like a God's eye.
thanks, molly!
that's the peeping tom galaxy molly
and hi to molly and o-o!
Sue, how is the boy's eye doing?
better, molly, and the rest of him is pretty much healed
now I am dealing with the missing car keys
Glad to hear that, Sue.
concussion symptoms have gone away?
pretty much, ruru, and he seems in good spirits
it's been about a week and a half now
is that center i all im?
I have lost things in bars.. but never my car keys
but the car has turned into a real nightmare - the keys have to be programmed to it, but it's old, and they had to get a new computer part (or something) for it, so that took an extra day; the latest is that they broke a dashboard panel while removing it, so now we're waiting for that
Hi kje
hi
I think so kje
I think he lost the keys out on the road (he walked to the bar); his jacket pocket has a hole in it, thanks to his dog (that's the pocket he uses for the doggie treats)
What a mess, Sue!
hi kje!
and the phone message said that they'd work with me on the cost of the new panel but it seems to me they should pay for it since they broke it
That's what I think too sue
hi all. ru (and anyone else who heard about my issues last night with student and mentally ill father), apparently the MD did call CPS yesterday… they 've now reopened the case came to the school today to interview the girl . Also the mom called me to discuss things that had bothered him about the meeting, and ended up agreeing with me that she might be anorexic and is worried that this could kill her, so she will try to convince him that they need to seek help.
Definitely! How can that possibly be your responsibility?
ah... finally saw them!
that's great news Doren.. one small step
hi dorens - I missed the discussion last night but I hope they get help - anorexia is nothing to fool around with
unfortunately, the father is a controlling SOB and undiagnosed paranoid schiz
ugh, that sounds awful, dorens
is that common in New Jersey Doren?
So stressful for you, Dorens.
you're the only sane person I've ever met from New Jersey :d
and CPS will do nothing… can't mandate therapy.. and this little chick needs residential treatment, intense therapy (She has been a selective mute since kindergarten) CPS only cares if she is being physically abused, which she is not
Sue, glad to hear the eye is better. Didn't know he had "rest of him" problems, but glad they are better too. Hope some lessons were learned.
and CPS will do nothing… can't mandate therapy.. and this little chick needs residential treatment, intense therapy (She has been a selective mute since kindergarten) CPS only cares if she is being physically abused, which she is not
hah ru! there are many who would question my sanity!
I hope so too, Molly - he also had a concussion and various bruises
hope he is doing better sue!
<--- also from New Jersey (but doesn't live there any more)
I'd've thought that the origins of being selective mute would definitely concern CPS.
what was the big brouhaha with Gov Christie today or yesterday doren?
*Needs to work "brouhaha" into more conversations*
LOL
Love that word
Memories of my teacher of French at school - often used the word!
I loved my french teacher a great lady
He was an old guy - out of retirement, substituting for a term - so Victorian in many of his ways but a good and fun teacher.
oh, his people ordered the closing of some entrance lanes to the George Washington Bridge which caused huge problems back in September. Political payback to the mayor for not supporting him. SO at first Christie denied any involvement. then emails proved his Deputy chief of Staff and his appointments to the Port Authority and his campaign director (who was about to head the NJ Repubican committee) were all somewhat involved. Took him a day to have a press conference, which then lasted two hours! he apologized over and over, fired the folks who hadn't already resigned and repeatedly said it was very stupid.
Fireworks!
I heard some woman died as a result of this as the ambulance couldn't get through the traffic?
Congrats, Lizlin.
well done liz
Thanks.
yay liz it looks like there might be no way to tie this junk to Christie, much to my disappointment. the woman was 91.. her daughter said it was probably her time. but still… the traffic was horrendous and it was unconscionable that this was done to "punish" the mayor of Fort Lee
Hope you all have great evenings (and your Dr. appt. goes well Ru). BBL
So you already knew about the brouhaha. Sneaky devil. : D
bye liz
ru knows everything
not really.. I heard there was a traffic jam.. and someone died as a result of it and christie was involved
didn't know much else. Christie is that vindictive?
Maybe we should start referring to them as Ruhahas.
LOLOL
sounds like a polynesian drink ruhaha
*Gathers paper umbrellas for Ruhaha drinks*
don't forget the pitchforks
:D
Dorens, As A Former Cps Worker, I'll Tell You That We Can Only Really Do Anything About Cases Where We Can Prove, In Court, That The Child Is Being Physically, EmotiOnally Or MedicallY abused. it Is A Nightmare To Go To Court And Try To Prove Things.
I stand by my belief that people shouldn't have kids without licenses and training to do so
and evaluations
The operative phrase there is "prove in court". It's sad that kids have to endure this kind of abuse due to the restraints of the legal system.
Lol I Agree. My Biggest Gripe Was That We Couldn't Get Court Ordered TubaS...

MYTH
hi everyone
hi...
i am not finding this an easy grid. Is it me or is this one a bit tricky?
oh, I just found a 9 by myself. not common at all
I'm with you bug, th words, mi words, sa words
thanks dan. how is your little bit today?
she's actually had an upset tummy this afternoon/evening. She's being a trooper though
oh that is so horrible when you are little because you don't know what is happening to give warning. I hope she rests well tonight
just found a 10 by myself! this is encouraging
go bug!
thanks penquis. i have such trouble with long words usually
can anybody clue the my words other than the 4?
nope, 4 is the only one I have
may i help?
My6/27, 7/40, 6/27

thanks granny!
other my6, my + circle + ***ter, not brother
can yo clue some th words as well , please ladies?
th5, old fashioned word for you, th* + this is **ne, not yours
th 8/60 word is th plus sometimes vowel plus not dad but **m plus transgression and plural it for the th 9/78 word.

Good for you Bugsaw!Forgive me if I am out of touch, but what happened to U? Feel like I don't see you much here.
Congratulations dan2it on your fireworks! Good for you!
congrats, Dan!
I slipped and broke my ankle in November Min. It has now healed
nice, bugs. slowly does it. are you able to go to hydrotherapy?
I don't know yet granny but it sure sounds like it would be soothing. There is still a lot of swelling.
lol, bugs, i remember the first time i was allowed to stand up, i felt about 7 feet tall.
I have been walking on it for 2 days and the blisters are coming back ;( but I am still standing!
the pool was what helped me the most. when you get in, work your way down to as deep as you can. the pressure under the water helps to reduce swelling.
the physiotherapists have lots of techniques they can use but I haven't had my first appointment yet
oh, and i remember being amazed at the fact that all my callouses had gone. was your ankle in plaster?
luckily no. I have plastic thing that I could loosen when the swelling became too painful, but my foot is quite soft
greetings and saluations and all that crap :)
sending that crap back to ya cosdem ;)
is it a camwalker boot. hard plastic splint type thing up to your knee, with velcro straps?
Hello cosdem! How are you doing today? Welcome to grid
heyya cos.
yes granny. some people called it a moon boot and others an air cast. I could never put air in the bladders because the cast was too small as it was
lol, they make snow-shoes look like ballet slippers, don't they?
and they are so noisy with all that velcro
lol, yes, and trying to slip it off quietly in the middle of the night, an impossible thing to do.
poor Mr Bugs didn't get much sleep either because the rubber on the bottom stuck to the sheets so I was trapped and had to kick the sheets up with my other foot, grab the headboard and flip my hips to roll over
bugs, you're on your way now. i hope your recovery continues without any hiccups.
I sure hope so granny. I am concerned about the swelling and blisters
roflol, so elegant too, poor don didn't get a lot of sleep either. he kept rolling over and coming into contact with something cold and hard in the bed.
bugs, the swelling will go down, as you become more active. but it is important to elevate regularly, and ice-pack it.
elegance was not my middle name during this exercise! I am so happy that the bones mended well because that was biggest concern
help with the at7 please
ok, I will elevate it more again and the ice sounds like a good plan. THanks for the advice
sorry to interupt btw :)
no worries but I can't help, sorry
cos, at + not off + t***, plural of mens neckwear
ty granny
ahhh i figured it was something like that thanks!
np's cos
glad to help, bugs.
you were off work for a long time granny. was it a foot thing for you?
still am off, bugs. i had a revision total knee replacement last december.
oh, much more disruptive than what I did. you tried to go back to work didn't you? I remember you had some cranky bosses who didn't understand that it was too hard to start again with a full shift
oh, that was in 2012, when i had my first total knee replacement done. i eventually went back to work, gradually increased my hours, was nearly back up to 10 hour shifts, when i slipped on a wet floor at work. i tore the stabilising tendon and have been waiting since last july for workcover to give their okay for the new sugery to be done.
*surgery*
you must be kidding! that is horrible! the same knee?!
yup, same knee.
oh my goodness!. I am SO sorry. i don't imagine you are in any hurry to get back to work and wet floors ever again.
the thing I was most gratefull for was that I did not have little kids and had finished working when I did mine
lolol, so true, bugs. have had a gutful of pain and pain meds. my whole day revolves around when the meds are due. it's frustrating. i am virtually a prisoner in my own home. i can go nowhere without someone with me. i can't even drive the car.
that is why I am so excited. Tomorrow I try driving and then I will feel free again. I hate being so housebound!
excited for you, bugs. i will live precariously through you for a while, you must tell how it goes.
my pain has never been too bad. I saved the super drugs for when I go to physio because I hear that sucks but is totally worth the agony
love the pun of living "precariously" thru me for a while. life is sure precarious all right
i'm not going to lie to you, but at the same time i don''t want to put you off trying. yes, hun, it does hurt. but in the water it is so much easier to do the exercises, as the water helps take some of the weight off your ankle. please ask your physio about it.
oh, and make sure you have someone with you on your first drive. just to be sure.
that sounds like a terrific idea granny. it could help me lose weight all over which would be a good plan too
absolutely, bugs.
My son is coming for a visit tomorrow so I will go out with him the first time. I think he will be more forgiving than Mr Bugs
lol, just tell him to shut his eyes and think of england.
naughty granny
ROFL!!!! I just thot he would know to keep his lips zipped when I messed up better
bugs, dear. i have to go. pain meds have kicked in, and i have a nagging canary who wants his cage cleaned. bless him! oh, good, you didn't take offence. sometimes my sense of humour goes overboard. not everyone appreciates what i say.
made me laugh right out loud. thanks for the pep talk and the advise. I should be getting ice soon too I think. Sleep well
bugs, dear. grab my email addy from my profile. we chat further if you wish. byeee
will do. thanks
((bugs))
hey all
stid!! *bounce bounce*
rofl
hello bugs, just catching up on your news. driving, eh? Thanks for the warning. Will stay off the roads tomorrow!
I am not really bouncing yet but at least I can put weight on my foot so I had a shower standing up today
oh, how LOVELY! :-D
I am very happy you are mending so well
Hello stidmama! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid.
me too. it took 10 sscrews and a plate, but the bones have healed well so now it is just hard work
hello Min -- I am well. Glad the first week back is over, next week will be easier I think because we have managed to re-establish routines and expectations.
how are you?
my browser is being weird...
sorry but I must go now looking for ice to shrink the swelling from all my walking today. see you all later
later bugs, feel better! **hugs bugs (gently)*
the 8s are fairly easy today
ooooh! cos! :-D *happy mama look*

stidmama,it was very hard going back to work, but I got through the week. I hope you had a very nice vacation.
78 now, and I know I don't!
I miss Pepsi so much. 10 days now.
I bet it was rough, did you get the rough weather, too? I was hoping in your part of the state it wouldn't be so cold...
?? no pepsi???? *mutters to self: poor cos, poor cos*
and back....{{stiddy}}
(((GR)))
I gave up dark pop for new years... trying to wean off pop.. then after that cigs
oh.... I see. It's a good thing to do, and you CAN do it!
with you stiddy...poor cos, poor cos.
Im trying to gain weight and with caffinnee and my high metabolism... u know?
*offers to donate unwanted weight to cos*
cos has a cola monkey on his back
well you have some of my weight, for free. and you wont have to give up the pepsi..lol
omg...snap stiddy...roflol
;-) I am not too badly overweight in general, but two weeks "off" without running laps around the classroom, and I know it!
hey mab!
lol ill gladly take them. ive gained only 10 lbs since august and i eat nonstop :(
{{mab}}
maybe have your thyroid levels checked, cos
that's a good idea, mab
yep mab that is my thinking .. looking for a doc now actually
or maybe it's just youth.
my family has a history of thyroid.. but its the other kind..
well i'm down to one meal/day. appetite abysmal. and i'm still putting weight on.
I am trying to decide if I want to finish with 12 words left to find. The more I look for words, the more I want to give up. I really did not enjoy this grid at all today!
oh rose.... bet you will shed weight when rehab is in full swing.
oh dear, sorry about the appetite, GR -- is the weight from water though, or actual "mass" (trying to be delicate, and failing miserably)
once all this stuff with the knee is over, am gonna have me a good chat with my GP
Weird. I like this grid min!
I am down to 73 now min, and slowing down a lot
I wonder what you can do to "exercise" with your arms while you aren't yet fully ambulatory, GR?
stiddy it could be a fluid issue, i am eating so little. i just wanna get back to normal. *sigh*
Can your wonderful husband put together some sort of lovely grab bar you could play with doing a sort of "chin ups?"
I know when I use cane or crutches my arms get buff, AND it boosts my metabolism
*giggle* i do have some hand weights i could use...at least that would to4 up the upper arms.
I ate so many pretzels this week, I craved salt! I think that's partly why I am a little bigger than I was... (hoping drinking a lot of water this weekend will flush that out!)
oh, nice! I used to have hand weights I would use toward spring to get my arms ready to lift sacks of manure and other fun garden stuff
now i'll be quiet, and stop hogging chog. please forgive me. i feel like a prisoner at the moment. and you people are really my only contact, apart from church and don.
((((grannyrose))))
you never have to be quiet.
(((GR))) I will log into gmail if you like and we can chat there and share "war stories"
lol, mab. can i have that in writing please, signed and dated.
Or we can stay here, and poo-poo to those who don't understand. *stern mama look at unsympathetic souls*
(signed by mab, at 9:55 in the chog -- official record)
(and seconded by stidmama at 9:56)
okay, i'll stay. but please tell me to put a sock in it if i go overboard.
<grin> LOVE Robert's rules of order! LOL
*readies socks just in case*
roflol...
Out of order. This meeting was never formally opened.
what is the short-term prognosis now? Are you ambulatory at all? I love that Bugs can start a little weight-bearing.
I've never know you to hog the chog, Rose. and I third the motion to let you chat all you want
*rules cos out of order -- glares at room to silence murmurs of dissent*
hey LBD! :-D
i made bugsaw lol earlier today. i really should be more careful when i am talking to someone i don't usually chog with. but she was great, and had a good chuckle.
hiya stiddy
Bugs is a lovely person, GR - the two of you would get along beautifully if we could all get together.
i'm walking with just the one crutch around the house. two crutches outside.
argh, why is it the time flies just as I get to chatting? time to head for the pillows. hugs to all, see you tomorrow.
I so often wish for a magic cauldron that would provide things like free airfare to bring all my lovely friends together every few years.
sweet dreams LBD
thanx dawg for your support also. hope you have sweet dreams, hun
nice, GR! That is impressive in such a short time
Goodbye lbdawger!I will see you tomorrow in the chat log
oh, and i can bend to 90 degrees, and straight leg lift foot about 12 inches off floor when sitting.
WOW!
I don't know if I can lift my own leg that far off!
mind you, all that physio i did after the original surgery built up the thigh muscles quite a lot.
um. I suppose it would!
Hey -- how's the weather down there? full summer, I guess? Beautiful blue skies, pretty birds and insects, aromatic flowers?
had some tatty remark on the tip of my tongue about don and my thigh muscles, but i wont go there.
I am really starting to look forward to our yard this summer. There are SO many things to take care of, and I am going to bring a friend of Grant's back from where she moved so she can help me "do stuff" and hang out with all her friends for a couple months.
*blushes on GR's behalf*
over the last few days, yes. and my roses have been blooming marvellous. and the gladioli are about to flower. one is candy pink, with cream streaks and soft frilly petals.
oh, I ADORE glads! A friend I helped in high school (she was in her 70s then) had glads EVERYWHERE. And cosmos. The latter I grow easily, but glads get eaten or something.
nice, stid, to be able to do that. hope her visit goes well. and thanx for the blush, i seem to have run out of them.
I think NEXT year I will sink some large planters in the ground and put glads in them so I can get the soil "just right" and prevent critters from getting at them
I seem to recall after my few hospital visits, that for a while I wasn't worried too much about blushing... you know that expression "let it all hang out?" rofl
do you think it's bugs or a furry crittur doing it?
lolol, oh yeah, know it well
I am thinking it's a combination of soil attrition (we have very acidic and clayey soils because of all the rain) and critters either bugs or furry (or both)
help with the first sa6 please!
poor cos, I think we scared him off... *looks behind pillows for cos*
oh! there he be!
I have a gerund for my first SA 6, but might not be THE first one

I can post the picture I took today of the gravel they put under where the concrete front porch will go... brb *micropoof*
sorry, the 'new' bit was my own invention.
