I don't know if I can get these 3... ugh.
*giggle* you said it was like pulling teeth, my response was to the rarity of the words..
which letters are you missing, jbp?
ah, ok. I thought it was a clue.

I mean, they are a LOT faster.
hmmmm
hush, ruru. let me bask in jbp's praise.
i so wanted to type "pogue"
i so wanted to type "pogue"
i so wanted to type "pogue"
and i wanted apogee
don't ask what I wanted
lol, i know exactly what you wanted...and it doesn't come in a bottle either.
Oh dear, late again -- after kitchen cleanup following neighbours in for supper.
hi Jilli
is everyone finishe with this baby?
nice, jilli. i hope it was a lovely time together.
not me
It was just the three of us, and delightful.
Ruru going to be a good game today
???a good game?
good, quality time with the neighbours is important. i really like my neighbours.
nice to find the vocano so soon
football, Jilli
*sigh* they're gonna talk fooball again.
both shoulld be
lolol, what did i tell you?
oh gawd -- the neighbour guy will be glued to the Boston lot tomorrow.
you going to be able to watch them-----sorry rose
yes.. I just have to do one errand tomorrow
I might turn it on after I get home from bridge, if I remember. Don't really give a hoot.
we are getting close to the super bowl Rose, so the games are getting hotter
it's okay, pugs. i'm sure i chog stuff which is boring to other people. not that i am saying football is boring. but i don't follow the american teams, just the aussie ones.
I understand---our guys dont turn you on--lol
and ruru, did i see earlier that you had to see the doc. soon? are you okay?
<--patting self on back for remembering the ho 6/24 word
change the last vowel to another one jill
well, pugs, they have all that padding and stuff. our guys run around in skimpy shorts and sleeveless tops. which would you prefer to watch?
ty cos -- strange one
welllllllllll----you must be talking soccer, are you?
totally different games, rose.
yw! :)
nope, talking aussie rules football
missing two h 6's
you can say that again, jilli
don't see them
see cos's clue below, ruru
is that like powderpuff football?
hoohoo, come over here and say that, sister..
LOL
pug that sounds like dangerous words
roflol
well playing with no padding and stuff makes me wonder
the state of colorado had to remove the 420 mile marker and replace it with 419.99 because people kept stealing it lol
think rugger -- no padding, rough play, scrums, no time outs
whys that Cos? is that a special number there
420 is the universal time/number for marijuana
what jilli said, pugs
really, cos? why is that?
there's alot I don't know about pot. Why 420?
i dont know the history. just that 420 is the traditional time to toke up
is rugger kind of like horse polo?
leme see if i can find out why
I didnt know that Cos
Rugby football, from which the American game evolved, sort of.
AH. April 20th is the national marijuana protest day u know.. rallies and stuff... makes sense now
anyway thought the news story was amusing :P 419.99
pugs, think footy, but no protective ge4, and played in the rain and mud.
I see -- 4/20
Ive never been into pot nor any other drugs as that goes
we play in the rain, fog and snow and ice here too
agree, cos, isn't it strange? people will souvenir anything
Love the 419.99 now that I see the reason
pugs, google australian rules football. see if you can find a video clip of the game.
rose, does your country have drug trouble too
okay
In Colorado marijuana is no longer a drug though pug
yes, dear. the drug problem is international. the drug barons are everywhere.
true Cos
grettings all
{{pink}}
Hi Pink
hi pink
the state has made 5 million dollars in the first week alone.
I bet!
granny how r u my dear
hiya pug rainy there?
all of it funding education. a good thing.
hi honey jill
it sure is Pink--you got it too
very ugly pug
they should of done that years ago cos
doing better now that i am ignoring doc's advice to reduce endone already.and you, hun? how are things with you?
and this was during a massive snow storm and freezing temps. .i am amazed
granny I ama fine ty so is your knee still painful?
whats wrong with grannnys knees?
can they buy it everyday Cos or is there a limit
1 oz limit per day per store
love, it hurts like hell without the endone. it's nearly 6 weeks. and i am weight-bearing, even with the crutch.
theres like 300 stores so 300 ozs basically per day if u go to every store
cos, dear, i had a revision total knee replacement 2nd december
our city is one of the few in the states that have banned marijuana stores.. stupid city council. it passed our city in a large margin.
so, you are going to have a state full of high drivers-lol
Igr thank goodness you are a tough cookie that's a lot to endure all the time
rose i was not here from sept-jan though :(
cos what state are you?
Colorado.
ook I see
did you visit all 300 stores Cos--lol
cos, and that's only the half of it. my mum died 21st november, had my surgery 2nd december, then MIL9who lived with us) died 7th december. it was a tough time, mate
are u feeling better rose? my friend had surgery on his leg last week.. 42 stitiches.. he is in awful pain now.. tramadol doesnt help
lol pug i havent been to a store... yet.
oh no. im so sorry rose... :hugs:
thanx, cos. what did your friend have done?
I hope 2014 is better for you. My friend has um something I cant remember. in his leg or foot. He has severe case of diabetics and is obese so it wa sgetting bad.
had to cut from his foot to his groin.
did he have varicose veins?
I remember he saying something about veins yeah
or was it a femoral-popliteal bypass?
nbt/nbs
wtg jill!
oh no it was a bypass. yes it was a bypass.
yay, jilli. nice job, hun
ty cos
nice jill I am moving slow with this grid
congrats Jilli
doh, also over halfway, lol!
ugh, cos. poor friend...that can be so painful. when you put your foot down to the floor, it hurts like hell.
I went from slow to a crawl and now Iam at a stand still
he has to walk with a walker now. they released him early cause of insurance. and he has to take care of his elderly mother and his sister who has only 6 months left to live. yeah hes in awful pain
and you look so lovely at a stand-still, pugs
lol
what a load for the poor guy, cos!
13 left and ive given up. about to list. yeah it is awful i feel so bad for him but he is taking it in stride.. hes making fun of himself with walker.. but i can tell hes scared
i hope his doc. has put him onto oxycodone. it's a good analgesic. copy it down, and ask him. there are slow-release, and quick-release, for break-through pain.
okay thank you! he has tramadol and he says it does not do him any good.
thats cause you cant see me---I look like the lady in the cartoon I sent you right now
probablly worse
sent him amessage on fb with that info!
yeah, he needs to change his pain meds. check if he is taking panadol osteo or brufen regularly, too
rose, some things have different names here
or he can take both. they work along different pain-pathways.
ah good point jill
ill make sure he knows that too and make sure he researchs as well
yes, jilli. perhaps cos could google what i have written, and 'translate' for me
yep rose ill do that too !
poor man...i hate to think of another going through so much pain, simply because doc. is unknowing.
I feel so bad for him. His mother is moaning "who will take care of me" while he is suffering and his sister is in the next room dying of terminal breast cancer
yeah and with that many stitches every step pulls those---yikes
I wish I could go to Iowa and help him out but.. work you know?
*shakes head* yeah, we had the same problem here..with the MIL
but, cos, if you help him with this information, his life can only improve, mate.
thats true. it ssomething at least
with him being a bad diabetic too the healing will take longer
get a good pain management regimen in, and you're over halfway there.
and to make things worse he lives in the middle of nowhere.
the nearest walmart is a hour away.
how old of a man is he
56
hes a good guy he gave me and ryan a home for a short time when we lost our hoouse years ago. with nothing expected in return.
sounds like a really nice man and friend thats got alot to deal with
ugh, cos..
this summer im going to visit him. i have to. i need to help pay it forward.'
thats good of you
sometimes the best people are put in the worst situations. my heart goes out to him, cos. if he's not too embarrassed let him know i, for one, am praying for him.
He will appreciate that.
may i know his name?
I will as well--whats his first name
snap rose--lol
yeah, i know, dear. two minds thinking alike
cos, if you don't want to mention it here, email me
Rose, are you guys there having a flu outbreak
sorry dog distracted me
his names Michael.
what kind of dog do you have Cos
a chorkie. hes a mix of a chihauhua/yorkie terrier
that was last year, pugs. and i caught it, was as sick as a dog.
we got a outbreak here of one that the shot isnt working on
I had the flu over my 3 week vacation. got sick the first monday. got better the day before we went back to work. figures.
and the shot i had was worthless apparently
our flu outbreaks are about 6 months fter yours, hun
its attacking the breathing
it was AWFUL I wanted to die.
how awful Cos
yeah, i know. they are vaccinating for influenza b's...and this is influenza a.
this year we have several different strands
yeah thats what i guessed.
at work we were short on average 4 people a shift for a few weeks in the last few weeks
i think the health department got relaxed about the influenza a's.
Iam carefull about keeping my hands clean when in town
lol, cos, i wanted to die also
the coughing was probably the worst part of it. i felt like my lung was gonna shoot out so many times
yeah, right with your cos.
Well well, FW!
w2g Jilli
and this was AFTER i gave up the smokes 3 years ago..
wtg jill! i still have 8 to go
WTG JILLI!! nice one, sweetie.
knock on wood I have not had the flu for several years. But I live in the country and not around many people nor do I have kids packing it in from school
break time stuck on 15 forever
absolutely, pugs. i hope you and your sis stay well
I do not have the flu yet but I do have a miserable cold!
lol, pink...

Iam sorry to DR
Thanks Cos and Granny

ty Pug

good morning all
hello dearest. are you still here? if so, i am glad to have popped back in.
I am :) *hugs rose* How are you today?
hello dear. decided to reject GP's idea of reducing pain meds. at least for another week. i have come to the realisation that most docs. are unaware of what their patients are going through. are you doing well?
very good decision, rose. Too early is as bad as too late to stop with painkillers. Try again in a week and take it from there :) Oh, I am fine. Doing pretty good with eating regularly and not bingeing at all.
yay, you, sprite. i am so proud of what you have achieved
thank you :)
how is the room coming along? Fang been by already?
not til next tuesday...3 days here...i have suggested that she take home with her several bags of rubbish, etc. we have filled our rubbish every week, and the re-cycling has gone into over-time..lol
good idea. I bet she will have a reason not to do it though :)
we have bins and bags full of stuff every where.
*giggle* i plan to put it on the road in front of and behind her car.
I ho4 you will give her hell if she declines. After letting you and Don do all the work and making you wait until she is good and ready, it is the very least she can do.
oh brilliant idea :D
i think when she finds out how much HER shinanigans have delayed probate will probably hurt the most..
such poetic justice in that. Forgive me for gloating.
why? i'm gloating into overtime here.
*giggles* Ok, unashamed gloating here then.
fireflies. That was a quicky.
WTG SPRITE!!!
yeah, i haven't had a quickie for ages....
lol... me neither... got time for better than that :D
I guess I had better get cracking then. No excuse for postponing anymore. We need bigger grids! Sleep well, dear friend. And have a lovely day tomorrow. *hugs*
xoxox, sprite. hope you have a grand day, dear.
hello - hello - hello - loooo - *listens for the echo*

howdy scwabby I am down to one left already

Yay! 3 left for me
hate the last word being a fish:(
hi wv, scrabs, molly, hagd everyone. I'm off to start cleaning...way too much fun at my house.
Done.
We need another grid.
It will rain all day, and ruin the beautiful snow, so I may spend the day housecleaning.
hello dawger
raining here also
We have tons of snow, so much will remain, but it is heartbreaking for those of us that love snowsports.
yaa for scrabby!
yes, we also have tons of snow on hand, but this mild temp is making it 'sticky"
plus 6c here at the moment:((
I might snowshoe instead today as the canopy of trees in the woods will preserve that snow.
crossy loves his snowshoes. problem is that i am a perpetual disaster after just 2k or so:(
1 k out, 1 k back
Yes, when you get tired and stop lifting your feet you trip and do a faceplant into the snow.
then wife says i smell like crossy bear
Good morning fellow Scrabblers!
i have these great antique bamboo ski poles with a lovely spear on the base of each so i do not face plant too often, which is good because it take a bit to get this much beef back upright
howdy maryte
A faceplant is still better than getting up from a Backplant which I encountered last weekend!!
lol
I only snowshoed once and wound up in a drift up to my armpits and had to be pulled out
{{crossy}}
((ruby))
well, grid is done. may as well feed the cats and make a tea.brb
with a faceplant (love that term) you at least have your knees to bend to help get back up!
knees? what are these knees you speak of? mine are full of bursitis:(
at least with big grids, I can play a while.
doc said to work them,so i am
With one this small, I don't finish but don't even spend enough time to make it fun
...work it! work it!
lol, legs and buns of steel. everything else is still shot to hell
I haven't played in a long while, so this small one is ok for me...
<-- nothing to work :(
Itty bitty Ruby Fooby
Hello Molly-O
HELLO RUBY
I just read about the river-spill pollution in Charleston. How are is that from you?
far* and hello teach
Morning all. Ruby, how is it coming with the theft of your husbands wallet?
we are about 2 1/2 hours north of there
good morning everyone
I have to redo all the paperwork and nothing ever turned up. I was hoping they'd keep the money and throw away the wallet
No such luck
He is very depressed about it
So sorry for all the hassle.
It's scary that they got his Social Security number. That is the key to identity theft.
thank you for aking, bzzn
{{annie}}
and there is no need to carry that card!
Good morning, Annie.
((ruby))) they probably threw away everything but the money...
morning, Bea
I never carry my Soc Sec card with me
but you'd think someone would have turned what was left in to the police or the store
you know you are a hopeless babble case when you have finished the grid and you catch yourself looking for more words
If they found it, probably thrown into a body of water
hahah crossy
it was taken very far from the lake
we have wallet thieves of course but a habit of late seems to be to take the money and the credit cards then they just dump the wallet in a post box. the owner gets his id back that way
Did you get in touch with Social Security, Ruby?
my local policeman said to wait 2 wks before replacing all the papers
Considerate theives.
no luck, so far, Molly. I keep leaving messages
considerate, yes, but they get as much as they can from the CC first before it is cancelled
<<very tired
ruby, replace the credit cards now so the stolen ones cannot be used
CC?
or used to. now it is all pin numbers
credit card, ruby
only one credit card was taken and I canceled it immediately and he already received the replacement
good,good
good

in the southern part of the state - but has effected thousands of people with no safe drinking water and will take at least a week to clean it up
Sorry, ruby. My lack of directionality got in the way.
ugh. we have any babblers affected?
that is a nasty problem, teach. Water supplies are so vulnerable
it's OK bzzn, didn't have that one
It was caused by a chemical that is used to clean coal
clue for right column a?
tank of chemicals leaked and was just upstream from the water plant for many surrounding counties
babs, ae 6---air circulation
Is Marshall University affected, teach. We have a niece that attends.
that area of the state has many chemical companies and all located along rivers
qe6 addig air to something
ae, bad fr keyboard
thanks...seeing so many vowels, I miss the obvious..
Marshall is in Huntington which is west of there and they are right along the Ohio River and probsbly get their water supply from the Ohio
did everybody get the strange ho bird?
We drive by those plants and through that area all the time on the way ack to St. Louis.
how about second row e?
Thanks, ruby.

what does the last 6 letter word start with- g, e or a?
i have never listed for this one but i have a ga 6/27 = French cake an er 6/24 and an ar 6/18= which means to clense with air
then there are a pair of ho 6 words which are a bird
then I am missing an a 5 and an e 5 but don't worry- just go about your day while I sweat. Might come back later too.
bet you are missing the an 5/10
correct
it is picnic pest+first vowel+ a latin ending vowel
now I only need the last e5 in the second to last column to be done. My monkeys or my kittens will find it
and i bet you are missing one of the two ea 5/14,s
oops- one more e

I see that
yay! first and last columns grey...lol
mine too ...lol
I have 6 words left. We are going golfing after breakfast, so glad it was a small puzzle :-)
and done!! Have a great day, everyone :-)
good morning - here it is a weekend and we have a teeny tiny grid...figures!
I am not getting out of my house any time soon as everything is covered in ice.....ugh!
Dr god must follow football and wants us to relax and enjoy the games.
Eesh. Micro grid.
Malnourished grid
since I finished this grid hours ago and am bored stiff and am avoiding housework, it is now time for crossy's ten rules for life!
1. Never give yourself a haircut after three margaritas. 2. You need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape. 3. The five most essential words for a healthy, vital relationship are "I apologize" and "you are right." 4. Everyone seems normal until you get to know them. 5. Never pass up an opportunity to pee. 6. If he/she says that you are too good for him/her - believe them. 7. Learn to pick your battles; ask yourself, "Will this matter one year from now? How about one month? One week? One day?" 8. When you make a mistake, make amends immediately. It's easier to eat crow while it's still warm. 9. If you woke up breathing, congratulations! You have another chance! 10. Living well really is the best revenge. Being miserable because of a bad or former relationship just might mean that the other person was right about you. 11. Work is good, but it's not that important. Money is nice, but you can't take it with you. Statistics show most people don't live to spend all they saved; some die even before they retire. Anything we have isn't really ours; It's on loan to us while we're here ...even our kids. 12. And finally...Be really good to your family and/or friends. You never know when you are going to need them to empty your bedpan.
Awaits with baited breath.
12 rules.added 2
lol
I'm hoping for Colts and New Orleans victories.
Me too
omg crossy! that is fantastic! 2, 3, 6....oh heck all of them are spot on!
Wow. Just had a big zot of lightning here.
*We will now have rocks thrown at us by all the New England and Seattle fans here*
A zot of lightning? I like that. : D
i like a "zort" of lightning
If one is a 49er...fan..one is expected to hope for the worst for Seattle
As in "Gad zorts!"
I prefer zot..sex...
Zot is a sex word????
It is now lol
gad zooks?
lol. Only you, ruru.
I can think of way to use zot as a sex word *insert dirty laugh*
only if you use the cattle probe
I think in sex zot..kind of sneaks up behind you..
A cattle probe might be appropriate for you cross lol
*F*W*! Going to nap and get ready for the Pats tonite! Later, kids!
I prefer my beef to be probe free.
Crosse is on probe..biotics...

yes I do. wish I had written them down
I need an A from top row, a t and a p
4 and 5 letters long
got the T
there is the whiplash peri that happens in ten seconds or less, then there are standard peri's that happen fro ten seconds to 45 seconds, then we have the skin of the teeth peris that occur from 45 seconds to 59 seconds
anything over 60 seconds is not an official peri and does not qualify
I am stuck with 9 but will it matter tomorrow? new week? next year? lol
lol
{{crossy and peri}} good night

sea gulls are just flying rats

It's a text generator Ru, you can do a google search on it
yes, but it wouldn't be the same without them.
oh.. thanks molly
they're part of the ambiance at the shore.
of course it is a text generator, molly.
ɯoɔ˙uÊopısdnÇdʎʇ oʇ oƃ ʇsnɾ 'ÇÇs
It would be nice to know how to do that when we have to talk to the aussies directly :D
seagulls are endangered birds, believe it or not. In the UK you can be fined £1000 a bird or egg if you kill them.
:)
wow,you can use it as well.
impressive:))
they can have some of ours Jazz
Jaxx
really jaxx?
want some of ours?
we can fed ex them
we have lots as well.you can take a few
We have as many as we have people, I think.
Helping the Brits repopulate their seagulls, a worthy cause.
our town has 22 thousand people so the seagull/human ratio may be a toss up
we have more than we have people in the bay area
Here it is illegal to feed them in a lot of places because of the big flocks it attracts
I find those seals more annoying.
here, only the citiot toursts feed them
tourists
in SF it is illegal to flock in public
you could be killed trying to feed them.
Unless you're naked
lol,yes, rent a room
Is it, Ru.
I thought you could do anything in SF
almost

we had a no longer walking around naked law passed recently

is this a new policy, Ru?
yes.. the rules committee and all
Have a good day, Love. :)
bye .. see ya soon
yup!
we have a committee?
It's a good thing we don't.
I am done and must go. Nice weekend All.
well the first things i want to talk with them about is sex, politic, religion, hand guns and health care;)))) no puppies, kitties or weather reports:))
tc hego
or just give it all to faux news and they can turn it into whatever they feel gives them ratings:)))
cross ... as to sex, politics, religion, ha nd guns and health care, ae you for these things or agin'm ?
yes, to sex,no to politics, maybe to religion yes to universal health care and no to handing out guns like they are cracker jack prizes and yes to puppies and kitties
and the weather is a coin toss
we have been debating about geting a hand gun for protectin especially since our neighborhood is " changing".. however the debater has been going of for 20 years and we still haven t done it... we have a louieville slugger annd two attack cats and a 6 foot walter with a vicious disposition when riled. hoping that is enough
since there are over 2400 identified practiced religions on this ball of mud i figured a maybe would be safe;)
you are better off with the baseball bat. fill your home with guns and that just gives the bad guy nice handy weapons
i mean why bring a gun to the home invasion when he can grab one when he gets there?
i like the way my daughter puts it.. she is not "religious" she is "spiritual" and feels that the golden rule is the thing to live by seems to work quite well for her
your daughter is a smart girl

No conversations.

people finish too quickly...
Hi, Soodle! Need some stimulating conversation? I'm here...
Lol Pen!! For sure!!!!
(((((Mimi)))))
(((Soodle))) Want the story about the boy toys or the time I went out with Burt Reynolds?
Premature Ebabbulation
heh heh...
I hate this grid so much I almost didn't even come back.
a couple of those ho words are ridiculous...
Trying to keep my mind off the BBQ brisket I have cooking in the slow cooker...smells TOO GOOD.
Burt reynolds! Definitely Burt Reynolds.
OK, babe..here goes...I was working at a TV station in Atlanta, GA and they have a 4th of July parade every year. This year Burt Reynolds was the grand marshal. I drove him in a convertible and then went to the cocktail party with him after. I was only 21...he was older...and filming Deliverance, so was totally BUFF! He was charming, funny, sweet and, DARN IT, a total gentleman...sometimes a girl just can't get a break!
Still working on my book...MANY other stories, some perhaps not appropriate for Babble.
Want the last boy toy story?
well, I see it's a nice and tiny puzzle for my birthday today!
BTW, if I had been older and more experienced, Burt never would have escaped unscathed...if you get my drift.
Happy Birthday, phan! Wanna give us the number?
The big 50!
How fun that you got to meet Burt Reynolds! Too cool!
Whoa---that's a difficult one. I was fine with 30 and 40 but 50 hit me hard...60 was even worse. Now, at 62, I just don't give a rip!
Eh, 50 isn't that bad. 30 was harder for me.
My life is a miniseries, phan...thus, the book. Difficult to write, though...had to decide how honest I was going to be. Am going with COMPLETELY HONEST.
Nice that you have a life interesting enough to write about.
this puzzle seems like a tricky one...
I loved 30---knew I would be more of who I should be and felt validated. Same with 40. But 50 was tough. Fortunately, I didn't have grandchildren until I was 60...that helped. Had all my kids in my 30s so I still have 2 in their 20's...makes me feel younger somehow.
interesting. I have 19, 21 and 23. 23 year old is married and doesn't want kids. I long to be a g'ma. But I guess if it happens I will be older...
I'm looking forward to my two grandsons getting older so I can totally spoil them and really get into their minds. Bonding won't be an issue...we have a "common enemy" in their parents!
exactly
BTW, phan...love your dog photo! I miss my German Shepherd every day and she has been gone 8 years.
Soodle, are you still here? Want more stories?
Thanks. She isn't a pure bred, but she looks like it. She did loose her saddle as she grew up.
she is nearly 5 now
1/2 way now.
I considered mine my 4th child...extraordinary dog. When I nearly died and came home but couldn't climb the stairs easily, she automatically paced herself with me up the stairs to "protect" me. From that day forward, even though I was well, she NEVER let me climb the stairs without her. She got lymphoma at 7 and died in 6 months after.
I feel blessed to have had her in my life.
She sounds like a lovely girl. so sorry how she died; Cancer sucks!
Finito. Still listening to Seahawks game as TV has expired during the first quarter. Good practice, listening. Researching TV types. We don't need a big screen.
way to go g'mere
She didn't seem to suffer at all, phan...had her on prednisone and she was fine right until the end...thank God, because I couldn't have handled her suffering.
well, that is a blessing, Mimi
I now have 3 cats, all were strays, and, though it may sound a bit "out there," I'm convinced her spirit sent me the 1st of my cats. He is such a great cat and his eyes are wise...if you know what I mean.
well, I got through the list and found all but 9 words.
I firmly believe that is higly possible. That, and special.
Any clues needed phandmd?
All of my animals are rescue animals. I have Jazz, the shepherd and 2 cats.
Yes please. let's start with AE 6
To get oxygen to things you ae****.
I am not religious at all but am very spiritual. Animals have been close to me all my life. Have worked at zoos and wildlife parks and raised gorillas, chimps and orangutans at a primate center. I value their spirits as much as humans.
sounds exciting, Mimi!
hello, babblers.
Hi TO just giving clues as needed.
Gorillas are the BEST---so gentle and soulful.
Thanks, g'mere. I totally forgot about that word; we have done that to our grass on occasion.
Hi, TO!
ag 5/14?
We have done that too, also we need to get the moss out of the lawn.
The slow cooker brisket is now calling me and I must answer. Have a good night and hugs all around.
ag is a type of pretty stone.
i've heard that is hard to do.
I really like that stone too! This puzzle has so many A's that it is hard to see those A words!
Good night Mimi sounds delicious, bon apetit!
get moss out of a lawn, i mean
enjoy, Mimi
enjoy, mimi!
To get moss out? easier to have a moss lawn up here in the great Northwest.
That last clue helped me figure out the ER 6, so thanks double, gmere
Lots of words with "swinging" portions in them.
the HO 6's?
the ga 6, 20 is a piece of cake.
Yeah, I got that one myself...
i don't want moss. it is there because of weedkiller use by neighbors.
Lots of the birds in the ho words. First ho 6 is a the 4, 6 with Edgar Allen *** ending.
It's there because our soil is very influenced by the fir trees.
the next ho 6, 20 is like the first but the ending is like that which we use to wash our hair sham***.
those two are birds?
I think they are birds but I didn't look it up. From Africa, I seem to recall.
are there other ho birds?
No. the first ho is a circle, the second ho 4, 6 is what Pandora got out of the box.
ty i will look.
Are you pretty much clued out? I need to practice my crochet work. Stidmama has me on a project and I am all thumbs as usual. Some things are not very intuitive with me, crochet is one of them. Have a lovely evening all.
enjoy your evening, gmere.
confused by the bird part of the clue...
yes, enjoy your evening.

Good Evening Everyone! How are you all tonight? This is the first time I've seen this grid; thank goodness it's a short one!
g'day nef, it may be short, but it ain't sweet. you have been warned
Oh, darn. And I've started too.
Thanks for the warning though
lol, i'm sure you will finish too.
I'm not so sure yet. My computer has been acting up all day. I've had to call the support line numerous times today; rebooting and repairing and all sorts of stuff all day and although it's running, it isn't up to normal speed yet
not ignoring you nef.that's bad news about the computer. am trying to allow you some quiet time to babble. i am here if you need help.
thanks, Granny. You don't *Have* to hang around for my sake though. But I do like to chat! ;-)
It IS a nasty grid, isn't it?
*giggle* told ya. too many vowels :-(
very true
Ooh! Just got a 6! (I feel funny saying that; but maybe shouldn't on this grid)
i know....i felt the same way. trying to find words is like trying to pull teeth.
Hello Nef! How are you doing today? Welcome to the grid
Hi Min. Thanks for the story. I'm actually going to need Lickety if I expect to finish tonight
hey ya min. how are you tonight?
Yes, my story is very short and has the easy words. List is definitely needed for this grid. I am here to clue also.
Hi grannyrose! How are you? Congrats on finishing early.
thanx dear, and congrats on your FW too
Thanks!
now if we could have a grid just a touch bigger, please. that would be great.
hello granny and all
g'day TO
how are you today, dear?
Hello 72 Temple Owl! How are you? Welcome back to chog
each day a little better, thanx. have nearly finished moving all our things to the 'new' rooms. just the furniture to go.
glad to hear. hello, min
i realised this morning, after church, i was actually laughing again. i think the big dark hole is over
and you, dear friend. how goes it with you?
"new" rooms? Remodeling or redecorating, granny?
nef, with the demise of the MIL(that sounds so cold, but not meant to be), don and i are going to use her lounge room as a bed/sitting room for us, her bedroom is going to be a lovely big dressing room.
ok, thank you. life is confusing at times; you'd think by this time I'd have most of the answers ;)
Hi TO. I wasn't ignoring you, having a stern talk with DH here. He fell the other day and didn't tell me, now he has an infected scrape on his ankle bone
hi nef! bad, bad dh ;)
good grief, nef. whack him with a feather for me. naughty man.
I'm glad you are able to move on now, granny. It take a while to recover, doesn't it?
yes, nef. just being able to spontaneously laugh was a big step forward.
He jusr confided he can't reach his outer ankle; he's not exercising and getting stiff. I warned him if he doesn't do the exercises, then he will need a wheel chair. (I hate to threaten him with that; but sometimes it's necessary I guess
with the extra rooms now available to us, i can now turn this house into the home don would like. he has seen/experienced what i can do, by the renovated bathroom i have done.
a project; that is good.
nef, a good dose of reality never hurt anyone. if he must exercise to maintain a quality of life, well then...he has to exercise.
granny, it's taken me 2 years since DH's Aunty died. I'm still working on reorganizing her stuff. (And I still miss her so much. But I don't *think* I was depressed.
nef, would he benefit from a water-aerobics class, do you think?
well friends, i think i will turn in for the evening. it's been a heckuva couple of days and i think rest would be a good thing.
then i'm not doing too badly am i? the problem is we have hit a brick wall so to speak. we are waiting for don's sister to get home, so she can tell us what she wants to keep for herself.
You know, that might be a great idea, granny! I've been trying to get him to go to the "after PT" open sessionsat the PT office and he refuses; but maybe water aerobics would be better
hope you rest well, TO.
TO, what's been going on?
nef, the water is lovey to workout in. and you don't even realise how hard your body is actually working.
rose, no timetable for this. take it as it goes. neg trip to hospital and each specilist thinking the issue is hershis, you know? so i am getting tested to death.
ugh, TO. saying a prayer for you right now, dear.
(((TO))) I hope you find out what's wrong and it's nothing serious. Sending healing thoughts and prayers your way.
granny, TO is right; there isn't a timetable for grief after we lose someone.
rose, i will be ok. Heart enzyme tested normal after 24 hour obsercation thats good. say a prayer for personal life - that's alot scarier.
:)
*grimace* okay, sweetie. let me know by email if there is anything in particular you want prayed for, hun.
take care of yourself, TO.
they were mad at me because i refused some treatement. i think they overreact at times for their own protection.
and they are used to dealing with elderly/nursing home patients who hve different needs.
well, that's true, TO. The number of people who are sue happy these days make them do that
of course, TO. and if they can't give you a logical explanation, just a lot of what if's, then refuse away.
I'm glad your heart enzymes are okay.
i mean, 24 hours of observation, walking the floor from boredom, and they want to give me heparin? no way.
that's routine therapuetic treatment though
for what? i have no idea what i had and neither do they.
LOLOL, TO. not logical is it? by the same token, if they had said to you, you may have a clot which needs to break up, well that would have been different.
prevention of blood clots from bedrest especially if they suspect something related to heart problems
over here we give suspect cardiac events aspirin. then wait for results of tests before advancing onto heparin.
it was to prevent same "because i was inactive" i said, ho wmany laps do you want me to do? I will begin anon
They do give the lowdose aspirin enroute to the hospital here, granny
and those heparin shots sting like hell. the aspirin are way less intrusive.
i got a dose of baby aspirin right away.
LOL, TO! I like your spunk (but it would drive me nuts if you were my patient and we were ruling out heart problems!)
TO, they gave the wrong reasons, seems like they weren't very sure of themselves. were you in a cardiac unit, or just a routine medical ward?
or an observation unit?
everntually moved from obsercation to cardiac observation.
nef, no baby dose aspirin here. it's 3 tabs. stat.
106
really, granny? Hmmm.
hi harp
g'day jane.
it was no fun. cardiac guy said all symptoms probably from reaction to new pain med Dr. gave; had taken first dose.
the night before.
we move onto baby aspirin the next day.
Oh, Man! That would be bad. Don't take it again!!!!!!!
good grief, TO. what is it?
i gave it to the resident to dispose of it. internist said she had a similar reaction thought not as extreme.
Wow. What drug is it, TO (if you don't mind my asking)
what do you reckon, nef? oxycodone, or paracetamol with codeine?
tramadol
ahhhh, of course. glad you got rid of it. tramadol makes my asthma play up very badly. or it used to do so.
Tramadol? Wow! That's the only pain med Ican take (I'm allergic to aspirin and NSAIDS, and anything stronger knocks me totally out
But my daughter gets terrible shin splints from tramadol too....
well, now that i read about it i amhorrifed, i would have thrown it out immediately.
(I can only take 1/2 tablet, though)
the last time i took tramadol, i was next door to the icu. if i hadn't started to improve, i was going to be moved in. i was on oxygen for 3 days.
I take tramadol also, since last October when I got taken off nsaids.
omg
it's an interesting med in that it blocks the effects of opiod receptors; so if you had any opiods in your system it can really cause problems
jane, that is why it was prescribed for me. i think trying one aspirin for pain would have been a lot better.
it's a great drug, if your body can tolerate it. but if you can't, it's lethal. it seems to have no grey area in between.
very true, granny
wow
TO, why did they take you off nsaids? If you had a reaction to them, aspirin has a cross sensitivity and you shouldn't take any of that either
maybe xanax and aspirin?
we use it in recovery all the time. usually in combo with at least 2 other drugs. in most cases it works a treat.
i "abused (unintentionally) aleve and had an immediate gastric bleed several years agao
hi ruru
good question, nef. and hello ruru...btw, mate, did you know ruru is a maori word for the boobook owl
Ahhh. So no allergy then (whew!)
boobook owl!
no.. I didn't granny
well i am feeling the efects of last nights release celebration. bed time for me. see you tomorrow.
(I had an anaphylactic reaction to ibuprophin years ago. My docs wouldn't even let me give aspirin or NSAIDS, they were upset I was still working as a nurse before I retired
okay, TO. sleep well dear
that is a whole different ball game, nef. thank god you were ok
TO, go get some rest; I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers for now
ty guys, iee be fine. i will get the cardiac test next week anyway.
((((TO))) Niters, dearheart
oh, dear. don has just trundled off to the bathroom. nothing strange about that, except he has a migraine for the first time in ages. and i know exactly what he is doing . poor man.
I don't envy him, (or you!)
LOL! Here I am, an RN for 44 years and I still can't stand it if someone retches or vomits! I used to warm my patients that "I don't DO vomit! I'll join you if you do"
ruru, how is your down time?
brb
oh, gosh, nef. the first time a patient threw up in front of me, i shared the bowl.
down time?
Too bad for Don.. I'd rather have anything other than a migraine
it's the weekend for you, isn't it? your not tearing along all those roads.
no.. I did some driving today.. tomorrow I do get to relax at home
Monday I work from Home too
ugh, ruru. don't you ever stop, mate? oh...that's good. bet dylan will be delighted too.
I usually don't have to heave with a migraine
Dylan will be thrilled
I had to deliver some party wine to Hego's favorite restaurant for their holiday (belated) party
don's migraines are vicious. it's not just at the back of his head, but in the sinuses below his eyes, and then down his neck, and spreads to his upper back.
ugh.. poor guy
that sounds awful
can he take anything?
if i massage him, i can feel all the muscles bunched up under my finger tips. usually if i massage him early enough, i can allay most of the pain. but this time he didn't tell me until too late. *sigh*
i get one or two bad ones a month.. I get a few others.. but they're more managable with drugs
ruru, we use a mixture of drugs, depending on what triggered it. if it's because of grass cutting or household dust, we start with something for allergies. then move onto heavier duty pain meds.
Has he ever tried Essential Lavender Oil for headaches, granny? I never believed that it would help until I tried it myself. (I use it at the first sign of a headache and I haven't had a migraine for many years)
I use essential vicodin and sumatriptan
nef, he is grossly allergic to lavender. i wanted to try some on him, but he can't even be near a plant out of doors.
so much for the potpourri lavender bag in the panty drawer huh granny?
oh dear. That's bad then
mmm. i wonder if rose hip oil might work? that's supposed to be good too.
you been peaking again, ruru??
no.. sniffing :D
oh, dear...*peeking, peeking*
DH used to juice celery, apples and a radish for me which was very helpful if I didn't hear the juicer
interesting, nef. have heard of that before. does it help? but you wouldn't be nauseated would you?
and that's another thing about don's migraines. he can tolerate high decibels of sound. me, if a pin drops, i scream.
no, I had terrible nausea and vomiting with my migraines too. If he'd juice up that mixture at the beginning of my migraine I'd sip on it and I wouldn't get so sick, and
noise, light, movement. Yuk!
13 words left. I didn't realize I was so far along here!
yup, me too. dark room, fan on low speed, cold facewasher, and no loud noise. i just lie there and moan. or i used to. nowadays, i have a med. which stops them dead in their tracks. trade name...zomig
I always had such bad reactions to drugs I quit trying themyears ago.
That sounds interesting, granny. (Reading up on it now)
granny, I did the exact same "comfort measures as you except I also had a hot pack for my feet. somehow that always seemed to help too
well i had tried every thing else. nothing can stop them from happening, i just took the pain meds. and lay down. this drug stops the migraine, with no drowsy side effects.
That's the part that sounds good to me, granny: no drowsy side effects
before i had this drug, it was always at least 24 hours before i was up and running again. back then, i was a sole parent of 3 boys, trying to hold down a full-time job. i didn't have time for a migraine.
apparently for migraines...put feet in warm water and a cold compress on the back of your neck
heyya diz
