She's a sweetheart, and has 2 kids that I adore. I told her I was adopting her when she went through post partum depression after the birth of her 1st child (her family is in Iran, the government won't let them come visit; and her parents are dead)

yay you, nef. did you people realise that all through this troubled time, don and i have received no help from family at all. no offers to do housework, no meals cooked, nothing. and just one friend only thought to provide us with a meal. it was the same in 2012 when i had the first lot of knee surgery.

we helped by making you feel guilty about being bad and not doing what you should--does that count? lol
I've learned a new phrase that I say when my family needs or demands help for things recently.
"What would you do if I/we were dead and gone; how would you get along then?"
nef....i only ask for help from family if i think don is going to over-extend himself. for example, my son is coming tomorrow to help move some particularly heavy and awkward furniture. my kids always respond. but my bors? never.

I don't think neighbors are like they used to be pugs. If a neighborhood is cohesive; then yes, they will help out. I've always had more help from friends in church groups or such

liz, the one meal which has been made for us was from a lovely young woman from our old church. she and her family were ostracised for no reason from that church. i cried for her for ages, still do. she and her hubby are so lovely.

Sounds like my Grandma . she was very down to earth, awful sense of humor (I get it from her, like my looks) but an awful temper if you try to mess with her grand kids.. she made a waitress cry once because my food was cold
When she lost a lot of weight with chemo..I told her I would cook for her until we got her fattened up again :D

We had a chance to have closure and an amazing experience saying goodbye
I had a friend in Iowa who passed from cancer and I sat in her hospice room every day for 2 weeks then the day before she passed she asked I not be present the next day. I asked why? She said she needed the day alone. But she did manage to say her goodbyes. She was like a 2nd mother to me.
Grandma's are usually wickedly funny cos
my other grandma is still kicking.. shes almost 90 and refuses to use her walker. and watches movies like Bruno and Borat

she moved out of her nursing home last year into an apartment saying she didnt need that crap around her

i forgot to mention. not only did she move out of her nursing home. she moved out of STATE. at 88 years old.

heres a small example of one of his fits----his rabbit dogs are over weight and hes complaining so I say devide the canfood in half--hes goes name calling at the top of his lungs, slamming doors and flying out the house in a rage
na, it was his respiration, he was getting too much air, ie he was getting some air

so agree, liz. but he cannot take responsibility for his own actions. which brings me to the question. pugs...once he is inside, what are you going to do with the dogs? they are a drain on what little money you have.
well while he was sitting in jail and it was so cold, I turn them loose and let them go in and out of the barn--made sure they had their needs

Sprite are your nightmares more so since you have gotten this sugar problem
he had been using up more than his limit on his mobile phone some time back, and after a lot of warnings we put him on his father's old cell phone with a very limited use. Just rewarded his continuing good behaviour with a new cell phone and contract. He is so happy with it too.

We had the same thing here 3-4 years ago; but it seemed that the hospitals were retaliating against the nurses union for getting the raise that they'd negotiated. I had several novice nurses volunteering for us at the time; they all did get jobs (2 in high risk peds. home care!) within the year after that

Molly, the clinical experience may be just 4-8 hours a week in some degree programs; it just isn't enough if the hospital doesn't have good internships these days

you can probably get a list of hospices in your state by contacting your state bureau of health or your local senior services center....then i would just visit them...

pen, it depends on the state I think. In MN our nursing association is a union now; some states nursing associations are more unions or more "professional" (meaning they are the upper management and professors and they don't seem to want the staff nurses involved

crossy, I tried your advice about shutting down AutoFill on an IPad and couldn't figure it out.
try SETTINGS, GENERAL, KEYBOARD....you can turn off the autofill there...
