no dice, but thanks for asking.
I knew it was a no go while I was there.
Sorry about that :(
when someone asks me the same question, and it's a stoopid one, and they ask me 3 more times... yeah, one thing I do not have, is a poker face.
it's ok. at least I know.
That's stoopid!
Not your poker face or lack of it!
i know, right?
I can be professional, but, ...yeah, not so much with the poker face.
I have some other irons in... we shall sea

I was always told my eyes give away what I am thinking!
Especially in staff meetings, where I thought they were talking rubbish!

hi flosey!
Hi Flosey
Hi Flosey - have you had a lovely day with your family?
i've had them a couple times since I got here also, flosey
haven't seen any red boxes tonight.
strange how they seem to hit some and not others
(or this morning more accurately)

I just got on so I missed them, shucks---lol
sometimes when the red boxes hit, I can't get in for a long time
hey all, just logging in and already down to 135!
Hi stid
Hi stid
howdy stid
stid, you rock!
LOL ((jbp)) silly person! nice to see you-all, I don't normally stay up this late any more.
U on the bottom right?
I was actually drawing where I would put boulders (if I had the money for such fripperies) in my back yard, so I guess maybe I do rock?

so, how are you-all? hoping you're not too badly snowed in? (figuring that won't be liz's issue though...)
43 left. time for bed. will list in the morning.
night all. poof.
Sleep well mixi.
night mix
sweet dreams, mixi! have a great weekend!
Our temps have been all over the place... will either get snow or rain over the weekend... nutso weather.
No snow here, stid - just back from long beach walk this afternoon! About 28 C today!
playing tennis in 6 hours. need some sleep.
it's like a heatwave here --going to be in the 30s tomorrow!
tennis sounds like fun, 28 is a very pleasant temp -- a little warmer than we normally get here in August, but not bad. :-) I melt at 30, however.
I guess that's 30's F , jbp!
LOL jbp! We are going to get a little arctic blast of our own this coming week, down into the 20s again, but no promise of snow... you-all have had all the luck this year!
It doesn't get too much hotter than that on average here stir.
stid!
"luck"
hi stid and everyone -- I just looked up
and yes, Liz... it will be between -2 and +4 C degress
hey, nbp! huzzah!!
I like it when it's about 16 in the morning, I sneak out of the house early (between 6 and 7) and work in the yard until about 10 when it's up to 20. Then I figure I get the rest of the day "off"
(waves to Bugsaw)
Hey bugs!
I remember those temps from London! Yuck! don't miss that!
Hi bugs
running marathons again yet?
HI bugs
so nice to see you all tonight!
Lizlin, what name do you use on Jigidi. I looked for puzzles you made and couldn't find any
ok, folks, I am off like a prom dress (TM), to try and upload to jigidi. hope to see all y'all later!
rofl, sweet dreams, jbp
bye jbp
Sleep well jbp and enjoy jigidi.
nit jbp
nite, I mean. sheesh
sorry stid, I am not running marathons but I am walking with a cane and the physio is pleased so I guess things are good. i just don't have much stamina
oooh! good for you! That's awesome. But you were not allowed to use that leg for a LONG time (in muscle years) so it will take a while to build up to your old energizer-bunny clone self!
thanks for that. I thot I was just a wimp. I go out and do all I am supposed to do but then fall asleep when I get home
That's pretty much the story of my life, bugs -- I have so little energy when I get home from teaching. BUT, as the year has gone on, I have more and more stamina, and I generally get a lot more done nowadays in the evenings and on weekends than I did even a couple months ago. You'll get there, too.
good to know. I am too tired to find words now so I will be off. Happy babbling everyone!
sweet dreams, bugs -- be well!
night bugs
okay, I am tired too. down to 59 so that's good enough progress. See you-all again soon I hope! stay safe/warm/cool/wonderful [pick the condition that fits]
*poof

hello o o o
cooee from me
whoa... you startled me
good to see you none the less
*giggle* hey ya...have been out this arvo, saying farewell to friends who are moving interstate. how goes you, mate?
life is good, got to play with a baby today
oohh??? whose baby? and were you out of practice?
what you said is so aussy, have no Idea what arvo is except context tells me it's some time reference, and interstate is a term not in use personally (interstate commerce, never move interstate) here or in the states, seperated by a common language. I feel so continental and sophisticated chatting with you
been a month or so, over x-mas my cousin, his wife and a newborn were visiting, got used to cuddleing with the kid daily, they are back for the weekend.
pfft....arvo = afternoon. interstate = from one state to another.
how lovely joso. baby would be more responsive now, too.
I knew interstate, it was just used in an odd place
yes, the eyes are tracking now, but less inclined to fall asleep on plush uncle joso now
well why say...moving to another state....when...moving interstate...says the same, uses less words.
pruny. i sat in the bath a long time and my fingers were pruny.
yeah, would be a little more wakeful, and perhaps smiling ?
joseph...love it...my family says teddy bear fingers, as they look like the pads of a bear.
just habits of language, americans apply it to enterprizes, not individuals, interstate bussiness, crime, trafficing, and as we have provinces interstate is another way of saying international
ahhh, and you have counties too, don't you? no provinces or counties here...just states and 2 territories.
yes, the smile has improved, lights up the whole face now, before it just barely ticked up the corners of the mouth
counties are a subdivision of provinces, we have territoriers too, up north, like junior provinces.
getting on for 9pm here. will say good-night. time to get the meds ready. xoxox joso. glad you had such a lovely visit. bye joseph.
rest well rose, have a good weekend
good morning all
oh dear, did I miss our rose? Darn it.
hm, guess I missed all of you. *waves*
hi sprite
hey joso :) I thought you had all left already. How are you today?
went to the grid for a while, upped my word count from 3 to 9
wow, that is 300%!
with that grand achievment under my belt I'm ready to chat again
am glad :D
I'm good, how are you keeping s
floppy ears
they droop a bit atm, apparently I got another virus. But slightly better than yesterday. That promises good things for tomorrow, right?
better is better, no other way to look at it
amen to that!
don't want to miss another group therapy day, so doing all I can to speed up the process.
and what did I read down there, you've been cuddling with a baby?
tis true, its a real feel good experiance, esp when you can hand him back when he needs changing
hehehe :) Glad you enjoyed it so much.
well back to the grid for a while, time to triple my word count again
ok joso, have a good time *hug*
Am I alone here? Hello? Anyone out there?
Hi Sprite?
hi Dofith!
Joso?
Ahh! There is life!
some, lol
Sprite, is Holland experiencing the terrible winter our Nth Am friends are having?
no, not at all. All we have is wet, wet, wet. Nothing like real winter
Send me some rain, please! Here in the west, we have dry summers = not a drop of rain for months. I hate it.
it is all unfairly distributed, for sure
More precisely, my garden hates it.
Not doing well with this grid.
so far so good, but not near the end yet

lol, thanks
Ooops! Sorry!
didn't have it yet, so thanks :)

good morning/afternoon babblers
this grid is not as friendly as yesterdays
hello {{annie?}}
((ruby)) it was getting cold in here...how's things?
cold here,oo, and I can't get the fire ging
Burt has a new great great grandchild, born Thursday, named Ruby! But nothing to do with me
keep on trying, thank goodness for indoor heating
did you say great great? That is awesome.
and he has no interest!
I could understand it, ruby. He is wrapped up in his own world.
Did he ever get a new Soc. Sec. card?
Good day, Annie & Ruby!
hello sccras
good morning, scrabbs
not yet,the paperwork is crazy
hello ruby, annie
When he gets his new card he shouldn't keep it in his wallet.
hi Anita
that's what they say in the website
Hi Anita
hi scrabbler
hello anita with all the *****
hi ladies
I am not fond of this grid
hello aloy
good morning, Aloy :)
I'm only giving it a couple of minutes
need to li down
Hi Aloy. How is you Florida winter going?
Do you feel ok, ruby, or are you just tired?
have a good lie down, ruby
fed up
((ruby))) hang in there, kid
As B's [revious wife said to me, "It's like walking on eggshells' and that was more than 20 years ago, so you can imagine
Deep breaths. This too shall pass....and then there is always something new to aggravate us.
Hi Scrabbs.. we just finished a gloomy but very welcome rainy period, over 2 1/2 inches, yay! Pretty cool, in the upper 50s but warming today, yay again.. you are surely getting some snow for winter outings!
scrabbs, How true that is.
this grid is stretching my brain
my brain is ready to cave in
I overdid the physical activity this past week. 4 days of rigorous snowshoeing with my sister, then I cross-country skied 4.5 miles on Th and Fri. I am beat and must take today off.
I noticed quickly that this grid is not easy.
good idea
I would have died by now.
Mentally I want to be out there in the woods but I am really wiped out physically.
amazing, Scrabbs.. snowshoeing is difficult
Listen to your body.
hello all
morning, Owl
Hi Owl
brb, my body wants more coffee
if I listened to my body, I'd never get up!
hi owl
LOL
But activity is vital to good health.
but overdoing it is not
Just kidding; I'll bet I climb 30 flights of stairs a day
I hope that counts as exercise.....
hello annie, scrabs, anita, ruby
I am 54 but think I am still a youngster. I push myself. But then I remind myself that I have passed my own cardiac stress test.
That is great, Ruby.
I used to be a serious runner, but can't do that any more (warning from the orthopaedist
Sadly, our bodies degenerate over time. Mechanical degradation.
hi TO and ruby and Anita, back and passing hot coffee around for anyone who needs it
*putting mug out for a refill*
thanks, Aloy.
Seattle
try that again.. Seattle's Best #4 this morning
true true, my problems are all mechanical
hi aloy
tastes good, aloy
"Pruny" should be a word.
I thought so too, scrabbs
assural too.. but I know, it is assurance
And Ruby used to do some serious running (after the Tour De France guys)
she had a pruny face
morning, Molly
hi Molly
I just found the seal-like creature, wa6.
smiled when I found it too (-:
that was my first word, then downhill from there, this grid is not easy....first run through, need 37 words
How is it that you get all pruny when you've been in the tub too long, but Enable doesn't recognize it. Perhaps the decrepit Enable makers don't bathe.
Coo coo ca choo
Molly, have your fairy sprinkle some dust on me
perhaps the just take quick baths
hi doseffing

That is Brigid, Goddess of Imbolc. Blessings to you Annie.

Molly, then I can't wait for the pagan celebration.
I must get ready for work. I am on call this weekend and see kids in the office from 8:30-12.
bye, scrabbs, have an easy day
nice seeing you Scrabbs, hope you have a great day
bye scrabs. what annie said.
TO, this is the winter for all the people who were whining the last two winters about how warm it was
I need a clue for ac 6, please
i was not among them. if it snows this weekend, my friend from MD will not come up to dance. that happened last weekend as well
sorry, I don't have it yet Annie
... shoot them all ... I'm going back to bed where it's warm ... it's saturday afterall and the cat has been fed

Hello, pugs.

Hi OO! thought I had missed everyone :)
Morning, everyone!
Hi mimi
good morning all
hi teach
So did something really bad happen in relationship to the Olympics? Saw TO's posting earlier.
I dont know, I havent heard anything Mimi
Waiting for Prism TV to finally reach me so I can watch regular live news again.
i think he is talking about the security efforts there - fences/walls around everything - there is a naval ship stationed nearby to evacuate us athletes if needed
time to get ready to go out and play music for the day - BBL this evening
Thanks, teach..such a shame to have to do these things especially for an event that represents world cooperation and celebration.
((crossy)) Did you see Jill's posting on Babble Community for you? It's a bacon collage. I can't figure out how to "steal" the photo and make it a Jigidi puzzle for you...but I keep trying!

I'm still trying to teach them to wipe their feet....no success there, eiter
:D
the words that enable has chosen to include never ceases to amaze me.
Yeah, such as the sw6,45....
hmmm....don't have that.
Iwas thinking of pi 6,24 which is a spanish word for a women who is a rogue or vagabond. Really!!?
For the SW6 -- a ****m of bees + British rule in India

is it a plural?...the clue was for 5 letters...
nm...got them...
pr7, a sub set of german and an acid
it's an acid, dan - but i think more like describing and old hungarian neighbor
both have 7 letter plurals pen
I think prunism should be a word
for those who soak too long?
I agree with ruru
ru, they don't have the venison formula here - i ended up buying a similar nutro food (and this icon is rusty, my first golden, just before he passed away - almost 25 yrs ago)
tx welki & joso & all cluers - firewords

All time zones present and accounted for
the actual game...
not the hours of specials...
ru, dad was kalar's four paw drive and mom my golden mirage
TV schedule is http://tinyurl.com/kdk3ln8
durango (dad) looked a bit like monty
What Pen? You are not interested in every sportscaster's in depth analysis of how each team will do? (That's what tail gate parties are for)
what is his AKC name?
Mygolden's Paws That Refreshes
wait, it's CKC
ok ..is the dad American or the mom?
no, molly....a little of that goes a long way...
ty dan...
here's mom: http://tinyurl.com/ld22non and dad: http://tinyurl.com/k3qp3jc
both parents were canadian dogs, ru
My score prediction: Broncos - 105, Shehawks - 6
but i think kalar/durango is dual :)
i am with you, molly!...
he's got haagen daz on both sides
the dad's grandparent (Justmoor) was a very great dog
Haagen Daz was a beautiful dog too
My Monty competed against him in the day
ahhhh - so there you go. we're related
i'll show you a pic of monty
i've seen monty - he was perfect, wasn't he
you had him as your icon pic earlier today :)
he was perfect. the perfect dog
I would give everything I have to have him again
if you could, ru, perfect wouldn't be as sweet
I actually considered the cloning thing :D
what was his registered name?
CH Ashford Monts Luisants CD
reminds me of that schwarzenegger movie, the 6th day - 'repet'
what does?
cloning monty
is this a tough grid for anyone besides me
i have two words left and i'm going to leave them for later
oh.. well.. I was so depressed that was the only thing that cheered me up
Quite easy grid
he lived to 15 and 1/4
wow, that's a good long life, ru - rusty made it to 13
ah well.. of course 00..everything is easy for you
and he might have gone longer, but i couldn't let him
not at all
Dylan's Dad Monty's brother lived to almost 16
I guess people who post about getting NBT and NBS aren't the only ones who brag
and the typical subject pipes in
me?
all grids are easy; some are easier
no, not you, welki.
well for me they are not all easy, especially those with few E's...
Hello again...
I have spoken about this many times ... tongue in cheek ... I plod along
All grids are not easy for a lot of people. It depends one's skill level with the game.
I liked your comments on finding words yesterday o-o
hey jilly
Hello, Jj.
Afternoon all.
Hello BzznBea!
hi, bea
I have little skill, just perseverance.
Hello, Bea
How is the weather for everyone?
Well, have to admit getting better over the years, doing it often and learning some of the babblets and weird words
Cold, Bea. The wind is gusting
Beautifully sunny here BzznBea, sun on snow, a bit brisk at 27F
Daughter in KS said they were getting sleet again.
sunny and 62 here
It's raining puppies and kitties. Oh wait, I mixed my change of subject metaphors.
lol molly
any rain, ru?
yesterday it sprinkled a bit. no.. we have a drought going on
And I thought I was subtle in my change of subject...
subtle doesn't fly here bea :D
I think I have to depend on mr lickety today after all
I needed it about half way, but muddled through to 40
i have 24 left.....knitting now and lurking....
watching "saddle up Saturday" on tv.....there is NOTHING on...
I know, ru. Sometimes, forthrightness doesn't work either.
I'm watching basketball. Getting ready to watch my Jayhawks and keeping my eye on the Wichita State score.
saddle up Saturday means something entirely different to me :D
Oh there she goes, knitting and typing again. Scary.
LOL!
that's me...fearsome with my needles!
when people say it is hard and I say it is easy, that is a joke. I have explained that many times. Antagonists only see what they want to see.
No, really that just sounds rude.
I am quite amused at how predictable people are.
The haters will always hate.
*chuckling*
*slowiy backing out of this conversation....knit, purl, knit, purl....*
the third scarf from hell is going along quite well....it has become the scarf from purgatory.... ;o)
Oh, I am done. Cannot do much but laugh.
Are they reloading?
chuckling at what jilly?\
<---is still amazed that enable allows sn5/18
Why do you call it the scarf from hell, jilly?
LOL...that was penquis BzznBea
i have the scarf from hell...now purgatory....because the first two i did gave me headaches....had to take out chunks after noticing mistakes...
What type of pattern is is, pen?
it's called a wave scarf.....the stitches group into sections that are triangular with stitches appearing to go in different directions...
I started to crochet a scarf. Took it all out. Started again. Took it all out...Have not gone back to it.
Oh come on you two, I bet knitting is easy. : P
Just joking...chuckle...chuckle...
lol....well this is easy when i pay attention to the pattern and keep checking my work...
I am fascinated by "arm knitting", but do not need another "project".
it's quite nice....this one is for my Russian friend...
don't you have to be crochety to knit ?
or knitty to crochet??
I think you have to be crochety to crochet.
Pen, I have this vision of your keyboard being all knitted together with your hands.
And I can be that!
lol.....well my comfy knitting chair is my computer chair....large monitor with a tv tuner, so I can watch tv, play babble and knit.... :oD
I think Ruism should be a word too
Multitasking at it's best.
oouuu....like that one, ru!
for your faithful followers ruru?
yes, although multi-tasking is actually attention shifting...back and forth
Wow! sw6
I know, just found it myself
Need to warm my tea...
yes joso.. for people with sick humor
Bea, you should not have to warm your tea. Just get Pen to knit you a tea cozy. Or five.
;)
better definition than "for people who regret things"....
and an altared..sense of reality :D
lol, molly....there is a thought....
thanks for the sw6
i don't put reality on that great a pedestal, ru.... ;o)
I wouldn't use a tea cozy .. at least not for tea :D
church reality has to be ritualistic.
sometimes too much so.. at least in my opinion
I don't understand tea cozies.
ruism=those that area prejudiced against ruru
making tea cozies are the way out of making scarfs
*thinking that is not such a bad idea*....
I didn't realize I was a minority :D
How can you be a minority and the darling of Babble chat? : P
*starts making pie to toss at Molly*
Coconut cream please
LOL
If it is coconut cream you can throw some my way too.
I have returned.
OH THANK GOD... COs is back
OH THANK GOD! COS IS BACK!!!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Pardon Ru and I, we are sharing a brain today
i dropped my knitting!
LOL
There must be a babble vortex for that one ruru and molly
thanks alot u made me light the wrong end my cig :P
I need to find one more word to list dammit
I hate it when that happens.
<----waiting for anti-smoking comments
Oh yeah, blame that on us and not the three drinks you had before you lit it.
I cant list til 40 words. Personal rule.
I am stuck on one to finish...
I'll have you know Molly it ain't 5pm yet :P
--41
*Laughs that Cos thinks I buy that no drinking before 5PM thing*
I need 27 more to get to 40 left.
lol no its ryan that drinks before 5.. ok ok.. 2pm on weekends
my only comment is that I feel for cigarette smokers..it's a terrible addiction
the good news is I no longer take smoke breaks at work. that will help I think
brb...gotta take a break then come bak to find that damn sa word....
Have you tried vaping, cos?
Yep!
vaping or vamping?

LOL
I hear tell Cos is an outrageous vamp

This is an easy grid Bea, what took you so long?
I was pointed out as being a cretin for my humor
congrats!
LOL ru! really? I'd wear that as a badge ofhonor
Congrats, Jilly!
I know...I tried pious for a while.. but it didn't fit
Cretins, haters, such a sad world. *Sniff*
I just cant stick out my pinkie when I drink so I decided to be cr5 instead.
Congrats, Jj
wtg Jilly!
and now it is time for crossy's tidbit of the day!! You know when you think of a real good or real snazzy comeback only after an argument is over and it is too late? This is known as L’esprit d’escalier or “stairway witâ€

:D
The sun was shining on the sea, Shining with all his might: He did his very best to make The billows smooth and bright-- And this was odd, because it was The middle of the night. The moon was shining sulkily, Because she thought the sun Had got no business to be there After the day was done-- "It's very rude of him," she said, "To come and spoil the fun!" The sea was wet as wet could be, The sands were dry as dry. You could not see a cloud, because No cloud was in the sky: No birds were flying overhead-- There were no birds to fly. The Walrus and the Carpenter Were walking close at hand; They wept like anything to see Such quantities of sand: "If this were only cleared away," They said, "it would be grand!" "If seven maids with seven mops Swept it for half a year. Do you suppose," the Wa 6/33 said, "That they could get it clear?" "I doubt it," said the Carpenter, And shed a bitter tear.
I'm just weeping copiously over the pulled poke.

Good Afternoon, Everyone. How are you all doing today?
Hello, Nef.
hi o-o. We made it through January with it's nasty weather again. How about you?
Yep. The wind is unrelenting.
I tried to upload a picture of a St Bridgets Cross as my icon, but failed. My kids all went to St Bridgets National (Elementary) school & there was always a Mass & celebration of Naoimh Brid on Feb 1st. I couldn't believe it when the whiskey swiller presented me with a perfectly made St Bridgets Cross this morning.
(Wednesday night we got another 8 inches more snow; the "good" news was that it was the light fluffy stuff this time)
Soodle, I've never heard of St. Bridgets Cross. I'm going to Google it now
Here in the great Northwest people are at a fever pitch waiting for the big game tomorrow. Many buildings n Seattle had blue and green lights illuminating the upper levels. Weather is drippy and in the 40s.
Brigid's cross: http://tinyurl.com/o5revlz
I have one hanging above my front door that my sister made for me.
lol@ "the whiskey swiller"
the cross
Okay, after reading up on this, I've seen the symbol before but have never heard the story. How odd is that
thanks Molly, I have bookmarked the cross to research later
*waves* I wandered off.
the local ambulance chaser law firms that you see on commercials is providing free cab rides tomorrow from 330-1030pm
Wow, cos; that's really interesting that they are doing that!
they do it for new years eve and st pats day. very nice service i ve used it for new years last year. didnt have to wait long too.
it is a nice service; it's just the fact that they ARE the ambulance chasers offering this service (It makes me think that they are thoughtful and human!)
yes. does make them look human. theyre pretty well respected here though
okay, I've been looking and looking and need some clues for the left lower corner "i", the bottom "E" and that stupid "N"!
When they do something that good, then they are respectable
lemme see if I can remember what words..
ni4/5 would be the easiesdt one?
I just got the corner I
and lower i is id4/6
mm,just noticed that there is some kind of odd game that is not hockey that is playing tomorrow. will have to check it out one day... perhaps if we put them on a frozen ice surface and give them skates? lol
thanks, cos
em4/6 too
i have my money on the chicago cubs cross
lol
there we go,football,on ice with nine innings
may i have clues for pa 6/24 and 7/36 please?
..do they still play the blues in Chicago.. when spring time finally rolls around? When the snow melts away, do the cubbies still play in their ivy covered burial ground?
pa + not city, minus last letter. then plural
i love steve goodman
house of blues in chicago is still there
thanks cos
off to PB I go
http://tinyurl.com/jwl3w3u
hi all! I have nu4/5 and pl for the N, too - little ridges on metal (usually) to provide a grip surface? (I'm married to a former machinist, lol)
usually a k added to that
but yup. crossy failed for one year as a machinist
yep, true
blew my big test
really, crossy? what sort of thingies did you make?
i had to machine 400! electric motor shafts out of some very expensive bar stock...
and did them all.. 0.050 though too small!

all went into the scrap bin
then you know your way around a caliper
well, yes and know given what i did:)

i read the blueprint wrong lol
cross goes to the PB
spend my life in there,cos
pulled pork is ready btw. you can have it on cheese buns or onion buns
yummy!
ill take onion buns
i oven toast the buns, add a dab of home made butter and pay on the pulled pork then a bit of fresh ground black peppercorns and some sea salt
better than bunions, lol

i FINALLY found one of those old mason jars with the egg beater built into the lid at a second hand store. makes great butter
wow, it's sad when you peruse the whole of the available TV listings and settle on the Disney channel - choices are pathetic this afternoon
been there rbud
this is why i cancelled my cable. god bless and forever keep netflix
i am enjoying season 2 of prison break atm
nice find, crossy!

my beloveds heart goes pitty-pat for Lincoln Burrows
it is indeed, rbud. they are very hard to find
i use it to blend eggs and omlette goodies as well

does anyone have the 2nd sa6/21 please?
and i know i could just buy an electric mixer, but it is not the same somehow
all i have is a Mexican poncho
Well, Crossy, me & Mrs Hair have already bonded, in advance of your trip here. The pair of us can drool over Linciln ( or Linc, as I like to think of him) together.
the old ways are good. an original blender/food processor, yay!
Sa, and a violent sex crime, Cross.
thanks that was it cross
aww..she calls him Linc already lol
I looked him up, could see drooling over him myself. (never watched the show)
we are just at the point in the programme where the sleeze who works for the prez kills that fbi agent in the tunnels and the three of them leave together
i need a clue for the other one cosdem
hi, babblers
has a nice iron tattoo on his chest now:)
Did u see my (pathetic) clue, Cross?
howdy welki

oh, i had the word already, soodles, was cluing for cos. i do need the other one though
it is all ready now,welki
mmmmmm ... with some icy cold cole slaw, maybe some fries and a beer. heaven
supposed to make something for "guests" tomorrow, Hubby sprang on me today - fellow and his gal coming to fix our bathroom floor - no groceries, and too nasty out to go shopping. will have to improvise.
and tyvm soodle.. wish i had seen that great clue!
<-- is roasting chick peas. should just throw them out now that i have p.p. on the brain *lol*
for snacks, rbud? or for a meal?
a meal of some sort. We have lots of mysterious packs of venison, no labels, from Hubby's various buddies - maybe I'll thaw a couple and see what I have. (don't like it much myself, but I think the "guests" do.
sauerbraten
I read tons of reviews about PB. I was betwixt & between about committing myself to watching it, as I knew there was a sad ending, bit mid-way through Season 4, still enjoying it immensely.
i am highly enjoying it,soodles:)
ok help with the sa7 the last :)
lots of "cliffhanger" moments
Hello to my fellow babblers! How is everyone doing today?
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! Hooray!!
Hey Min.
howdy min and welcome to the grid!
you'd have to start the sauerbraten tonight, though
Thanks crosshair! I hope you are having a good weekend
hehehe, probably should have started it yesterday *lol*
just got rolling here myself, need something for the lower right U and the center column i
indeed i am, min as i am in the midst of a 4 day weekend:)) between semesters
don't know a thing about sauerbraten, but bet Hubs would love it. he often fondly mentions a local German restaurant we never seem to find time to go to, or it's not open when we do
un + think of a flag (and pl)
I would LOVE to have a four day weekend. Good for you!
I have some only slightly expired yeast, think it might still work? I can make some homemade bread to go with a lovely veef and veggie stew I made a ton of last night.
ty, welki! I should have seen that, as I saw the
test it, rbud
oops, "beef" of course
Good day, kiddos!
as I saw the nu4 and 5 earlier
take some warm water (maybe 1/4 cup), add a tablespoon of yeast and 1/2 teaspoon of sugar - mix it and if it bubbles in 5-10 min, it's good
my special "musgo" stew - everything in the fridge "mus go", lol
good idea, welki, will try that.
Funny name, rbud!
hey scrabbs
(and if it's not, make a soda bread :D
I don't think I want to finish this grid.
I now have nbt/nbs, a few more to halfway and I'll be content.
I don't aspire to much more than that these days. :)
Hello Scrabbler! How are you doing? Welcome to the chog
hiya min
I passed halfway this morning but I don't feel like searching for 55 more.
Hi Min
Hello welki! How are you doing? I saw you are eating with crosshair tonight. Lucky you! Do you live close to him?
no min, about 2500 miles away - would love to, though
hello 60 to go

Yay, now go have fun, Jen.
Congratulations JenMO16 on your fireworks! Good for U!

No, I am encouraging you to relax and have fun now that you finished.
Or stay and give clues. I need 50 words.

Did you have dinner yet?

nope
This puzzle isn't fun, so now that you are finished JenMO you can go have some fun or you can clues which is fun.

un7's please?
The first un7
A un7/48 word is plural of the un 6/33 (un + fu 4/8 word)
for those finished this evil little grid and looking for some fun, make sure you check out my selection of puzzles on jigidi.com.:))
And I found the first un7 by myself
I will be playing Candy Crush when I am done with puzzle.
i am doing one of lilliann's puzzes as we speak
candy crush is evil
Hey Crossy. Ever since I upgraded to Windows 8.1 Babble Expert won't stay pinned to my taskbar. I have to go into Downloads to find it.
i played CC to level 50 then bailed
that is odd, scrabby
though i truly hate any version of win 8
usually if you click on the program in the list of all programs, you can right click and choose pin
I dislike it too but am able to do what I want to with my laptop. I got a touchscreen laptop in Nov.
well, win 8 was designed with touch in mind
and tablets
that is it's prlem. it has a split personality
whew - looking for beautiful hardcover books to start one of my grand-daughter's library (she'll be one year old) - there is so much to choose from
Microsoft knew it was jumping into the tablet game and needed an os of it's own and fast
I have bought more than a dozen Roger Priddy books for my greatnephew. He prefers photographs over illustrations.
for a one year old? that is a hard choice
Good Night Moon is one he loves, and the partner book My World.
fireworks. last word was me5/16
Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you See? is a fun book!
Congratulations cosdem on your fireworks! Good for you
Yes, Eric Carle books are classics.
Clue for that me5, cosdem?
meenie me5 moe
TY. Odd spelling.
yw glad that clue worked :)
so far, i have velveteen rabbit, stellaluna and millions of cats (my kids still have many of their own books, i have to be careful not to duplicate)
Beatrix Potter books! Bunnies!
i think beatrix potter is pretty much covered :)
I have a lot of children's books I would like to sell
Theres a book called 'The Turf-Cutters Donkey, by Patricia Lynch, which my Dad read to us as kids & I've read to mine.
At 108/35 I am done with this grid.
I will look that one up, Soodle.
It might be a bit parochial, but it's a terrific yarn.
i can order it, but the good editions, soodle, are either sold out or over $100 - that one will have to wait
Scrabbler, can I help? I'm done!
(i could get paperback, i think, but i want to order hardcovers)
Soodle, I just don't want to spend another minute on this grid, but thanks.
welki. do not forget to check out biblio.com
i love that site and they are great with shipping
that's a good idea, crossy - books are going to the us
i had a friend who needed windows xp for dummies book and it was surprisingly tough to find in other than new for $45.00! but found a gently usede copy at biblio for 6 dollars
This is my oncall weekend am I was in the office from 830-almost 3. There are so many sick kids and worried mamas.
biblio does round the world, welki so no problem
in the $5- $20 dollar range, plan of the cost and shipping being almost the same coast, but if you are buying more than that it gets less expensive
the flu bug seems to be hitting the kids very, very hard this year scrabby
we have a friend and BOTH his 18 month olds ended up on ventilators at sick kids in Toronto
I saw siblings with the flu today and both parents are ill too. The parents looked sicker than the kids.
twin boys. they are recoverning now thank god
When my crew were really small, I got a book out of the library called 'The Enchanted Boat' by Enid Blyton. I read a couple of chapters each night. As I read, I changed the names into of the books characters for their names, and I changed the locations to places my kids could identify with. The only problem I had was remembering from one night to the next all the changes I had made to the original text.
Yikes, Crossy. Were they premies? That would increase their risk of severe respiratory disease.
Haha, Editor Soodle!
oh soodle, they must have loved it :) i recall one of my favorite childhood books being a collection of folktales from around the world, compiled by danny kaye
Going to sound like Old Granny Grunt now, but I really enjoyed those days!
I loved the days when my kids were small and I read to them.
maybe soon there'll be grandkids for you to read to
hello all
Bats at the Beach....King Bobble....some of my great nephew
favorites...
do not know scrabbs. one was taken off ventilator today and one who was admitted two days after is still on assisted breathing
I can't wait for grandkids
lol, soodles, when you change a kids story like that you must make yourself a concordance
Me too Molls.
thanks, pen!
i have twelve picked out so far - will have to cull the list (maybe)
Hello 72 Temple Owl! How are you? Welcome to the chog.
hey owl - snuck right in here!
hi min. how are you?
i am marooned here. i want to finish and then do more cleaning
Chris Van Duesen's (sp?) books were also popular....i loved his book about King Hugo's Ego....illustrations are great, too....
that's what i'm looking for, pen - beautifully illustrated books that mom and dad can read now and she can read later
the faily tales are usually beautifully illustrated. i've bought some at year sales just for the illustrations.
so, i've made peri's fb roasted chick peas and they didn't crisp up, even after 40 minutes. put them back into the oven and think i'll end up with chick pea jerky or little chick pea projectiles (running out to 7-11 for a giant straw to shoot them from)
Cross, most storytimes in this house were concocted straight out of my head, to incorporate the days' events. I only got discombulated when I had to adhere to someone else's prose.
someone else said she had the same thing happen..either jbv, hego or Krista
If you search by Newberry Award winners you should find plenty. But it sounds like you've found plenty already.
I just reposted that on FB. sorry it did not turn out. I have not made them yet welki but my niece has
you can make hummus from them
I'm well. Can't wait to finish this hard grid. Down to 8 left
http://www.chrisvandusen.com/books... i liked his Circus Ship and King Hugo's Huge Ego best...
Discombobulated
i was looking at a grimm's collection, but i remember them being so gruesome. in spite of the illustrations, i can't get past all the violence - and i think they still have my copy
go min go!
peri, they taste great, are just chewy. if they don't crisp up, i'll enjoy them the way they are :)
I think Jillibus posted it first
I will try them next week
uh oh...medication time. bb in about 20 minutes.
as preschoolers, my great nephew's favorite was King Bobble...not an easily found book....but charming and fun...
remember getting the book sale brochure and looking for those newberry winners? that - and Book It - that was a great reading incentive program
oh, i found king bobble on amazon, pen
later, owl
four and five year olds love that book....
never heard of King Bobble, it is a good book for 4-5 year olds?
yes....especially boys.....the king is quite silly....
nothing finer than setting the seeds in a child for the love of books to grow. If you are very fortunate you are there when reading "clicks" with a child and you can watch them dive into reading in a big way
I want to get it for both of my great nephews who have birthdays coming up
ty pen
my kids are grown and now they're sharing reading with their kids - it's pretty amazing to watch, especially when the tiny ones grab books instead of electronics
adults enjoy reading it too.....yw....
I will check on Better World Books
hey peri - an additional 10 minutes worked on most of them. i did read on another site that some will be crisp and some chewy, so it's a success!
help with the ja6 pls
mmmm, you smell like a flower, or a disney character, peri
how long was the total cooking time?
an hour, peri - but i'm in a high altitude city
ty for ja6
i didn't follow the recipe for spice, though - 1 tbl olive oil, 1/2 tsp chili powder, some garlic and onion powder, sea salt
that sounds good to me
though it is proven, welki, that young boys do better with electronic versions of reading over the traditional 'dead tree" books as my son calls them
seems to make no difference with young ladies however
J's Jived! 7 left
i have seen a recipe for cinnamon sugar ones lately, via yahoo, as well as savory ones. perhaps that recipe would work better.

i am so happy that frank is in remission, suze;))
me too!!! They won't call it remission since he was stage 4, but we'll take it :-)
well, they always protect themselves by saying there is a 10% chance of a unrelated cancer developing in the next ten years
I've read that colon cancer recurrences are rare after 5 years, so after that I will relax a little :-)
what matters most is he is fighting and winning and you are supporting him sue
family support is crucial
ah, that is sweet, ruru :-)
and keeping the reular day to day schedule as normal as it can be'
... just watch for symptoms like a hawk ... don't leave it to him ... ...
well, since I've retired I don't exactly have a regular daily schedule; I do need to develop one, though
ok..everyone help me with my choice.. an easy dinner of a grilled sandwich or a more complicated one with risotto
oh, no problem there, dos! Besides making sure he follows up with his various doctors, I'm making him take care of his teeth, and may insist that he get new glasses soon
... may you have greater success than my wife did ...
when i was fighting, i could not even think of a normal day. my beloved kept thye house did the groceries, paid the bills. when it was so bad that i was vomiting in the store parking lot, she went in and did the groceries, and kept our child organized for school. she was much stronger than i had to be
ok..i'll skip dinner for now
fortunately, once he got past the surgeries, Frank's side effects weren't too awful; he got pretty tired, and had the runs a lot towards the end, but very little nausea
grilled cheese ruru
... absolutely, no question ... grilled cheese
to me, risotto is gloppy, over starched unrinsed rice
sue, thanks for your support and understanding. ill catch up with you another day.
take care, TO!
cancer affects us all
hopelessly confused on pa 6 and 7; clues please?
add the 2-letter Egyptian sun god to the pi4/6, mab, then plural

what is a "birkin?
*peeks in the door for a gawk*
yipes - there's one for $1.9 million!
whatever it is it better lead to getting lucky at $150k
a birkin is a very expensive purse crossy
I didn't know it was spelt with a i
it's a type of pockebook, crossy - made by the Hermes folks - if i've ever seen one, i don't know about it *lol(
pa6, pa + not urban - last letter. pl for the 7
a purse should not be more valuable than what it contains
i did walk past a hermes store in paris - wasn't sure i was allowed on the sidewalk :)
I have a nice hermes watch that I like
i never pay for a name
tough i am partial to the Rolex marinar watch series
thank you jos and sue!
hermes always sounds like a French venereal disease to me
9 k for a watch!
ah yes, I used to window-shop in Geneva, some pretty pricey things there for sure!

welk: on the rare occasions that I ride the buss when down at UPenn, i have seem real hermes and nearly every kind of bag and i don;t think they are fakes

I like Omega watches

I would never drive a bentley

ohhh, i park next to a black R8 - beautiful car
the new RR are horrible
that's my next car welki
i don't think that will be on my car shortlist.

a RR with a VW engine with 1600 cc of throbbing power
hey welk, any news on the travel front?
here's a little buggy i posted on my fb page last week : http://tinyurl.com/bs48s7h
crossy is going the wrong direction for throbbing power
owl, maybe late march or april - have to let my daughter get settled in new job before the trip
we had a dealer near us. i liked them in yellow.
perhaps you can get a dance lesson from my private instructor.
R8s are very studly cars : )
hahaha - by the time i get there, if he charges $50, it'll cost me $100 - exchange rate is the pits (for me)
I'm ready for studly
what color, ru?
not sure.. have to wait for the property to sell. I don't want to look yet
probably grey though
no, there would be no charge. he is my buddy.
i'm building one on their website - bet it'll be easy to pass 250G
just buy him a beer,
what a bargain, $198.000!
i think that'd be fun, owl :)
(and the price is right, too!)
Get two
nope.. just one
I only wear black shoes :D
nah, that'd be pedestrian - the other vehicle can be a cessna
<---doesn't need to accessorize
ok, speaking of the devil, phone. see you tomorrow
I didn't know TO was into satanic rituals? :D
bye owl
she's a little hellfire :)
lol i might be lol
:D all i can say is it better not storm again this weekend, it is keeping my instructor home in dc
ans my dancing is getting rusty
he'll have his work cut out for him with me, toots - i'm such a clutz
well, he is cajun so what you learn would be authentic. he doesn;t sound like james carville though thank god
my daughter starts her new job march 7th - i'll need to find out her schedule and then we can plan - has to be before may
ok. my trip to iceland is off, unless someone drops out of the tour.
so i will be around.
good - we'll have some fun :)
and you must pick a festival for us to attend - perhaps gator by the bay
got to run, sorryfor chog hogging. night.
Goodbye 72 Temple Owl!I will see you tomorrow in the log
it's quiet out there
hi joso....knitting here....watching tv....
oooo there is life out there after all. doing much the same thing, minus the knitting
ah...for a second there, i thought you were a knitter, too!
hello friends. can anyone clue the sw6 please?
sw6, sw + 1st letter + british ***, brit rule of india
Hello joso! How are you doing today? Welcome to the grid
Hello Bugsaw! How are you doing today? Welcome to grid
hi Minveryork
hi min
not getting that clue joso. any other endings you can offer
I'm well, how is life treating you
hey all done with grading for the day, down to 59 last night.
((stid)) always good to see you
the sw ends with most of the significant other of a ranee
ty o-o & joso
that wud be a rajah o-o and I am still blind to the ending
(((bugs))) I have a boiler in the house!! As soon as the garage door is installed they will turn on the heat, and then drywall. Drywall supposed to start Friday...
my monkeys msust have been busy eating bananas
so all the electric and plumbing is in now? how great to get to the drywall. it won't be long after that
bugs, yes, that word is the last three letters of the sw you want.
please help a poor person with no imagination and exhausted monkeys, pida!
Hoping mightily it will be before I am a grandmother... *stern mama look at my sons*
bugs: sw* + first three of ruler you typed
oh the front of the word! thanks for explaining a different way stid and thanks to o-o
yes bugs, drop the ah
are your boys teasing you about getting old stid? they are both good kids
and, of course now that I have the word, joso's clue was a good one too
No, they don't have to, bugs -- I get enough inadvertent reminders from my students! LOL
just put up a picture of the tiles for our shower, bugs...
I will be reading books/magazines/websites and watching a lot of videos for a while so I can do this!
ugh I only just saw the fish-eating wa...
you are going to install the tiles, stid? well done
you just have to have planned it out properly before you start and you are good at planning so it shouldn't be much of a problem.
I know it will be serviceable, not sure it will look professional.
it will. there are little tools to help with spacing
why not install a one piece shower and tub and be done with it?
yes, and there is waterproof grout now, and really good underlayments that waterproof things as well. There is actually a paint-on barrier that looks promizing
because, o-o, a one-piece isn't wheelchair accessible. I need this house to be something I can live in no matter what my physical capabilities are
16 left hello
nice cross o-o
right now I can walk, not sure for how long
hi harpjane
hey harpjane!
This shower will be completely seamless (no curb) with the floor which, being concrete, won't mind a little water splashing on it.
No tub?
I would like to build an ensuite and have a walking shower like that too stid
clawfoot tub on the opposite side of the room. The other bathroom has the standard tub-shower insert
It's a "huge" shower compared to the 24" square footprint we used to have: 5x4 feet!
o-o we had brighid's cross at our wedding
A lot of work and water problems often ensue
It makes sense for a person my age, bugs -- especially when I already have mobility issues. If we weren't having to build from the ground up I wouldn't have done it though. It would be WAY too expensive to put in after-the-fact with a wooden structure.
I have a lot of faith in our constractor and subs, o-o. Tom and I stop by unexpectedly and check things out. They have been very good at fixing little things and explaining the materials and processes.
have they given you a projected move in date yet?
well, drywall end of the week, then paint, then cabinets. Then we wait for the counters (they have to make templates and cut things "just so"). Already into March. Then there's final plumbing stuff and inspections. I am hoping end of March, early April. I suspect we'll pay rent for April, but not for May.
is the ni5 a fish?
I will need a couple weeks to move out of the apartment and move things in. We'll have to wait for final "stuff" to be put in place until summer break.
great news! it will be so nice to be in before the end of school. let me know if you need help unpacking and settling in.
i don't have that one harpjane
:-) I will let you know. You might need to come test out this shower when it's done.
no harp jane. it end with the same ending as the hollow spots in your head that can become painful with a bad cold
ooh. great clue bugs!
