THAT's the g I was missing, thanks
how can one be gormless unless one has a gorm anyway?
this grid is very frustrating. there are so very many phantoms... if i could just rearrange a couple of the letters, i'd have a bunch more words.
the Scrabble distionary has a gorm word, meaning to smear
oh, thanks Erda, interesting!
I never knew...
good new word for the day, thanks again
off to brush my teeth.. bb in a bit. let me know if Dee resurfaces for air
lol... here... down to 4
guess what dee
What?

Cash buyer
we close in 15 days
Oh, wow!! I bet your are walking on air! That sure was quick, ru!!
Full price?
it really wasn't THAT quick.. but I am excited
no.. not full price.. but we're okay with the price..and happy to unload it
Quick for around here. And I cannot believe you get to close in 15 days... also quick for here.... our minimum is usually 30 days or more.
it's going to be a horse ranch I guess.
That IS fabulous! Nice use of property.
he's waving all the inspections and just moving forward
it's a magical place.. I'm glad he gets it
Great for you. I would NEVER buy any property anywhere without inspections; I hate surprises.
now I'll get the Cottage furniture so I won't look like a college student
it's mostly land dee. not a whole lot to inspect
I'm sure that will be helpful. Where is ms. ru going?
not sure.. probably Healdsburg. we have to sell our house too
we have an interested buyer there too
Listed with the same realtor?
yes.. but we might have a person to come in and buy it in cash too
then I can buy my own place
Ru, you really are fortunate!! So glad for you!

hi, guess everyone's finished - or almost, our power just came back so will do what I can
bah, humbug, another "tiny"
hi ruby
hi flosey
has spring arrived?
no winter has, hahaha, we had quite a fall today, about 4 or so " but winds too, had a tree fall across our bridge, breaking the railing on both sides
are you cut off from the world?
no, hubby went down and cut it up - was pretty big
but daughter and 4 of her friends were over for the weekend, was a bit of a panic for a few minutes
is the bridge visible from your house?
it was around 10:30 this morning - had to make breakfast on stove downstairs but power was restored in a couple of hours
we've been so luck with our mild winter. Only one tiny snow, lots of rain but sunshine, too. All the spring flowers have started. We'll probably get 3 feet of snow in MRCH, BUT IT SHOULDN'T BE VERY COLD
no, and I didn't go down to see it, we're maybe about 1/4 mile from the road. All the snowdrops are out in full bloom, we have lots of them
23 days, 15 hours remain till Spring ... wind chills remain well below zero
hi o-o
we don't have snowdrops, but th wild primroses are startig
primroses are various colours, right?
most are pale yellow but some are luscious violet. They grow wild here, so it's a nice early surprise. Yellow ones come up next to our daffs, so that's always a treast, the only yellow things in my garden
Hello everyone. It is always so cheery to see Ruby getting excited about Spring flowers - another year has flown by
well, I'm going back to bed, just have 14 words so far, will be back in the morning, nice chatting ruby, goodnight now
and they're flying faster and faster! {{lynx}}

Hello, pugs. Hope you are well and smiling.
Hi OO----its monday you know
this grid is a hard one I think or its me and monday-lol
The day of the week means nothing to me. Sorry Mondays are a concern for you.
I dont know why but mondays always seem blueish
When I was working, Sunday was a terrible day because Monday followed.
so are you smiling and well-------I can understand that
How many shaddows did you count yesterday-LOL
I do not do those things ... warped in mind is the plague.
Only ten. I did not feel like taking off my socks.
I think we each have some kind of plague to deal with
These annoying grids do not help.
whats the spring count now? are we down to the 20's yet
I know they dont, OO
Yes
winter has crept back on us here :(
teen temp and snow all week long
23 days, 14 hours remain till Spring
its getting down there, wish it would go a little faster though
was this grid troubling for you
Hi all. Haven't played for a while. Figured I'd drop in and say hello.
Hello, Alexis Elise
Hi and nice to meet you Alexis
Hi puglet. I believe we've chatted before
hi o-o
I think we bonded over being Hoosiers
Grids are grids ... find a word ... find another ... before long there are no more to find
Iam sorry I didnt remember
That's ok. It was a long time ago. I don't play much anymore
well Iam glad to meet up with you again then---how are things with you? Are you sick of this winter as Iam
I live in California now... but I can imagine. I hear from my family. This year has been awful for you guys
thin
oops
it has and it just dont want to stop--lol
I bet its nice and warm there, isnt it
My parents have both missed so much work in the last month
I moved here 4 years ago and sometimes I still can't believe how fantastic it is in the winter. It's been especially warm. We've had record-breaking days. Lots of 80's
that does sound so very nice compare to here right now-lol Have you been in the area that is having the drought
Oh ya. I can't remember the last time it rained
I hate rain so I'm not complaining
all your rain I think turned into snow for us I think--lol
After 32 years in Indiana and Illinois... I am content with one season.
Yes, you are getting it all
Iam happy for you that you have found a place of peace and happyness
have you always lived in indiana?
yes, I was born just a few miles from here and Ive lived here for alittle over 30 years
I still fly in from time to time. Most of my family is there.
After last winter I decided no more winter trips, though
we broke our record of the most snow ever and you missed out on it---dont that upset you--lol
I do miss sliding around in the car
That was pretty fun
And it's nice how the snow packs into the potholes and makes the roads nice and smooth
yeah it is--lol
snow falls from the sky. If snow were more careful it would not be falling so often.
Iam not getting nowhere today on this grid, think I will take a break and come back later today. So nice to see you again Alexis and I will try very hard to remember the next time--lol-------------OO, take care friend--hugs
Later, Puglet
Be well, pugs
Ummm... I guess I never thought of it that way. Snow DOES need to be more careful.
phantom: gossypiboma
an object left inside a patient after an operation
phantom: cabotage
isn't that a form of leafy-vegetable destruction?
alas, I knew him well, Horatio
cabotage is coastal navigation although your answer is much more sensible, obviously x
thanx worzel - the word would have stuck in my head, I think, but I have nightmares about people challenging words I don't have definitions for.
and when it comes to babblets, neither does the dictionary
yw. I am very good with strange words, being as I, myself, am rather outre myself !!!
one of the reasons Scrabble adds to stress but you can just lay back and monkey a lot with Babble

Haven't looked at the grid yet
I just read the quotes in your profile, hurshy, very funny, especially Madeleine Albright. And it sure beats watching dog videos on youTue!!!
she said that whilst a guest on the daily show. very pithy.
19 left and have to cook
no princess bride quote in there because if i started, i'd end up with the whole move script in there.
finished! See you at the flip!
Ah, The Princess Bride. Not a chick flick. : D
And Inigo!
Beloved and I were marveling that Princess Buttercup turns out to be Clair Underwood in House of Cards!
I have often marveled that Princess Buttercup married Sean Penn.
yes! Even though they are divorced now.
ding ding ding!
william goldman i think said that he thought if she'd had the drive and passion for acting, instead of wanting to focus on being a mom, she'd have been one of the great actresses of her time
Well, I can't fault her for that. The rewards of acting are fleeting. The rewards of being a Mom are life long.
not that he was criticizing her choices. just complimenting her talent.
fireworks
I think it's a nice compliment.
congrats, stevedallas
the dread pirate roberts
See? How can there be a Dread Pirate Roberts in a chick flick?
good morning -- was just thinking, on seeing the size of this one, that we are due for a whopper one of these days
Could be Nan, but I have pretty much given up on the "randomly generated" thing. We seem to have weeks of small grids in a row, which doesn't seem random at all.
Help on the second YO5 please.
NM
Again another mini grid
Hi everyone
how can you have a name like princess buttercup and it not be a chick flick :D

You will just never know what a good movie you are missing. Tsk, tsk.

You're welcome Bich. How is Mr. Bich's ankle today?

Funny how when you drop the last vowel, the word meaning changes dramatically.
Hello, all. It appears I have survived the Windows 7 conversion.
*Blesses Judi with holy water*
Windows 7 is fine, it's Windows 8 that Microsoft really screwed the pooch on.
Thanks, Molls. Just had to figure out how to switch my mouse to single click. Done!
Need clues for Ci5/14 and Ni5/12, please?
ci5...it was an old phrase ci5 1980
ni5 ordinal number after the 8 one
Ty, Molly. Fireworks!
Boo-yah Judi!!
hi all!
Hi Sue, how's life in the frozen tundra?
good, molly, although it is becoming more and more frozen this week
After a few days of warmer weather here, we are headed back in the ice box
It's amusing that this time last year everyone was worried about things blooming too soon. : D
Molly, I am taking Mr. Bich to the Orthopedic walkin
Do you think it's something worse than a sprain, Bich?
Hello babbleworld...we have over a foot of snow and snowing still.
yuck!
But it is beautiful!
yes, I am sure it is.
Beautiful and snow do not go together in my vocabulary.
Molly, it is beautiful when it isn't in our world!
It is nice to see a more or less normal winter here...we need the moisture!
I am just tired of the soggy mess that we have had when the stuff melts. And Jazz doesn't like it either cuz I wont let her out back!
Hi everyone. Just in from shoveling snow. I agree, jilly it's beautiful out there. Bright sun shining on the glittery gems.
What Phan? You don't want a muddy dog traipsing through your house? : P
no, truth be told, I really don't!
LOL...no sun here dawg...it's snowing. For once we have the snow you usually get.
It's too bad we couldn't have sent all our snow to the snow lovers in Montana.
agreed
Actually, California needs it as well.
We would graciously have taken it Molly.
may I have stats for the 7b pls
Yeah California is really hurting for water in any form other than salt water.
ac7/36 peri
Do you all not get a lot of rain? Is that why you count on snow for moisture?
ty Jilly, looking
Water table needs snow slow melt versus fast evaporation
Look in strange places Peri.
got it ty
Ah well, one more thing to be grateful for. We don't count on snow for our water levels.
nbt/nbs
California needs it really bad (water that is)
If our rivers and streams are low or dry that will mean less water for those down stream from us, i.e. California et. Al
Go jilly

Hi and good afternoon
What a lot of bizarre words fit in this tiny grid
How's the patient?
Fibula broken. Has to stay home for a week
Wow, good thing you took him in.
He decided to go. Would you believe he walked 1/2 mile to get out of the woods. Tough guy
Very tough guy, but it probably didn't do the break any good.
Since it was an "in line fracture" I don't think it was a problem. Now how to keep him occupied for a week. Polo is afraid of him
FW see y'all tomorrow
Polo might be afraid of you too after a week of playing nurse maid : D

Good Evening, Everyone. Is this even worth starting at this time of day?
sure Nef, just ask for clues when you get stuck
cant
you have almost 4 hours?
Drat! I just sent myself to the PB talking with my grandson....
do you have Lickety?
hi all!
Yes, flossy.
hi Sue
(to both questions)
hi sue! How are you?
I am good, nef! How are you doing?
Just trying to survive the cold and snow here; getting real tired of both these days
same here! I am sure you have more cold and snow than we do but it is getting tiresome here as well.
Hi, everyone! I'm so excited..I got a couple new things for my balcony patio...one big color changing star and three smaller ones on staggered cords. We're also having record heat here...80s.
We've now had 45 days with below zero weather; and I have snow banks on either side of my driveway that are 5 feet high.
hi mimi!
((sue))
We always want what we don't have...I'd LOVE some snow...though not as much as you've had this year.
hi Mimi. SOMEDAY we might see those temps again (not really positive that that will happen this year right now!)
we had a thaw and rain a few days ago; now we are back in the deep freeze so everything that melted (which unfortunately was NOT all the snow) is now solid ice.
Yep, but the key word is SOME snow, not tons of it
I remember those conditions...raised in Ohio and lived in Michigan a couple of years. Very dangerous when that happens.
fireworks!
We had 2 days with temps in the low 30'
Do either of you have Netflix?
Hooray for sue!
My son has it, mimi, but I haven't used it myself
woo hoo uu! me too!
and then on Thursday eve sleet and another foot of snow. Our roads are still terrible
They just added one of my favorite movies of all time to both streaming and DVD....Same Time, Next Year. Unbelievably wonderful movie.
Hey, dan....long time no "see."
congrats dan & sue WTG
yay dan!
We have Netflix too. I don't usually watch movies, but DH and our grandson do
sounds awful, Nef! I hope you don't have to go out in it much.
Yay uusue and dan2bit!!! WTG!!!
Do yourself a favor, Nef, and watch this one. I've watched it so many times I know all the dialog! And the theme song is so beautiful.
Oh, dan, just look at your precious little one...so adorable.
I will try and find it sometime when I get the chance then.
I now have a video of my 1-1/2 year-old grandson playing with the Mozart Cube I gave him for Christmas and keep time with the music....so cute.
I wish they had some TV programs that I'd like to see again: Rumpole of the Bailey, and The Joy of Painting (with Bob Foss, I think it was?) Now that we are both retired; I'd like DH to see them (and maybe start a hobby too)
Only 303 days and 3 hours+ until Christmas.
I finally decided to get an air filter for my home. I'm allergic to everything and always need allergy medication. Allergic to cats...have three...allergic to dust...live in the desert...I'm my own worst enemy. This filter is supposed to remove quite a bit of dust and pollen...keeping fingers crossed that I might actually be able to breathe again.
Nef, try Hulu Plus. They have some great old shows...the original Bob Newhart show, Chicago Hope, St. Elsewhere...and my favorite WKRP in Cincinnati (I'm from Cincy but it is a great show).
o-o; please don't rush the holidays along!
I believe they also have the Mary Tyler Moore show and Rhoda.
Thanks, Mimi; I will. we have some sort of a gadget that has Netflix, Hulu, You Tube and all sorts of other stuff on it ; our son gave it to us for Christmas; but I really haven't sat down and tried stuff out yet
Mimi thank you! I am rather smitten myself
Do they Gildersleeve and Fibber McGee and Molly?
though she is currently down with bronchitis :-(
I use a Roku box for streaming from both Nerflix and Hulu Plus as well as PBS and many others. Great investment for only $60 one time...with remote control.
LOL! I worked evenings and nights for 37 years; I never saw any of those shows. Maybe now I'll find out why everyone watched them!
Nothing worse than our babies being sick. I can tell you are just putty in her hands, dan...and that's the way it's supposed to be.
(I don't even know what this things! Maybe it's Roku!)
It's definitely worth the $8 each for Netflix and Hulu Plus streaming....so many great shows. Lot of wonderful Australian and British shows.
I can watch all the episodes from The West Wing, and Highlander, and Ally McBeal...and so many others. Don't even miss cable...certainly don't miss the expense.
I don't have TV or cable, though will watch some shows via computer, Netflix, Hulu
bob cummings and highway patrol broderick crawford
so you don't need cable to get those shows? (We have Direct TV sattelyte thing; it would be nice not having to pay for that
no, don't need anything but internet
Hi, kje! So good to see you here. No TV? I would suffer. I like watching these shows streamed to my HD TV.
most (but not all) shows can now be streamed either off the network site (CBS, NBC, etc), Hulu (even without the paid subscription), or watch past seasons via Netflix, so one season behind
streets of san francisco karl malden and mike douglas
Nope, you don't need anything but WiFi on your computer and the adaptor box (of any sort). With Roku (and most of the others) you pay for it one time and that's it and just $8 a month each for Netflix and Hulu Plus.
Well, considering how high Comcast is for just the internet and phone these days; maybe we can cut out Direct TV. (I wish that they had internet connection here; they have much better service than Comcast!
well, I have a TV screen now - bf installed it a couple months ago, but went without even that for about 6 years or more - I just watched stuff on the laptop
Do you have Century Link where you are, Nef?
FW
Nope, Mimi. Comcast has a strangle hold on the St. Paul side of town
YAY, kje!!! WTG!!!
That's my internet/phone company and they have something I've been waiting for called Prism TV. No dish, just runs off WiFi lines and you can get all the shows you get from cable/DirecTV. Starts out at around $50 for 150 channels. They keep saying it's almost available here....looking forward to it.
You know, Nef, to my way of thinking that's a monopoly and illegal....agree?
Have you gotten any drought relief, kje?
I agree, Mimi. And Comcast is now trying to gobble up another of its' competitors too.
When Prism is available, we'll at least have two competing "cable" services. But I did like DirecTV, just couldn't get it here because I have no line-of-sight from my apt.
phone, BRB
I get internet via ATT, no land line, no other fees except mobile phone
We don't have that here yet, kje...but my friend in Atlanta has that for cable, internet and phone. The only problem is that when it goes down, everything is gone.
Have you gotten any drought relief, kje?
back. I'm surprised that phone call was so short (she usually talks a lot!)
The Babble gods intervened, Nef!
ATT really was a pain when we had it; I wouldn't go back to them for anything! (Long story; I won't go into it)
Well, am going to get some dinner and relax with a movie...up early tomorrow at 5 to work. Great seeing everyone and hugs all around.
Have you gotten any drought relief, kje?
Nite, Mimi, FW"s . o-o. You always have such interesting info in your bio. Thanks
be well
too funny ... Have you gotten any drought relief, kje?

(BTW, thanks, o-o for the Ni words)
A cold mass of arctic air will bring temperatures that are 10 to 30 degrees below normal across the north-central U.S. through Tuesday. The coldest air will be from the northern Plains to the Great Lakes, where highs will be in the single digits and teens. The cold air will spread through the Midwest, Ohio Valley and to the East Coast by midweek.
I agreee, I am there with you. We had lovely 60 degree weather over the weekend and are back in the 30's are we are expecting some snow on Wednesday... sigh.
Thanks for that, o-o
