hey ya pink. are you well, hun?
vgood here and you???
oh no! I had the chills all day yesterday but Iam feeling okay right now
u have had quite a time yikes
you think the pool is too much or too soon
you went to that pool and picked up the flu germs I bet!
pugs, i am going hot and cold almost non-stop. i have to get into that pool. but i am going to limit myself to 30 minutes for the next 2 sessions.
how long sere you in it monday
sorry, needed to go potty. was in the pool for 45 minutes, and all of it on my feet.
Hi all
I would limit the time too for a few times and work up to longer sessions
Hi ya Liz
Sorry you're not feeling too good Rose :(
hey ya liz. how are you, dear?
How are you, Pugs?
I'm fine thanks.
s'okay liz, and thanx. unfortunately it se4s to be making me very depressed as well, which makes me think it's a flu.
I guess your resistance is low after everything.
you better start doctoring yourself for it then and try taking it easy for a while
Good advice!
have you had the flu yet Liz
liz, have been revelling in the brit show 'grand designs '. have you seen it?
Not for many year, thank goodness. In fact I've been revoltingly healthy since I moved to Aus. Long may it last!
No, haven't seen it, Rose.
it's amazing. tonight a couple converted an old concrete water tower into an amazing home. the show is on the ABC.
thats good Liz-----I havent had it either since I quit the nursing home. I was sick more then anytime in my life while working there
Just switched to ABC! Used to watch this in England.
good morning
Hi Ruby :)
good morning and hugs Ruby
Hugs, Ruby.
i love the ideas people come up with. it is also opening up don's mind to what can be done. and makes him realise what i would like to see happen isn't too extreme...lol
I do too Rose
eek! good morning ruby. you crept in so quietly. xoxox, hun
Some people are very creative.
It is lovely to see my friends in here Big hugs all around.
hi ruby hi liz im just daydreaming
I'm sorry yiure feeling poorly, Rosie. I hope it' not the flu. I don't think you can catch it on babble.....
That water tower is unbelievable!
told you, liz. and LOLOL ruby, what is going on over there?
that time, I didn't fall on the keyboard, it just started twitching! Sorry, gals!
I seen in a picture that someone took a mailbox and painted it bright and cheery and put it in the corner of their garden to keep their garden handtools in it. Iam thinking of doing that myself.
cute idea pugs
naughty keyboard...pugs, i love it.
it was really cute and a neat ideal--Pink
It would be a sort of post-modern garden sculpture
before dinner arrives in about 15 minutes, does anyone want a clue?
pls for the 8 no st 8
are you not returning :(
Wouldn't mind a teeny hint for du8 pls.
my screen freeszes if I go to licketys

Bon appetite, Rose.

Time for dinner. Hugs to all. BBL.

Buuurrrrpp...Pardon me.
you're pardoned and hello
Hi ya Zoom, hope that made you feel better--lol
Good morning, all :-)
103, nbt and nbs
nice grid
Just started got one so far..lol
of course, I probably won't get much farther
It did, Pugs..better out than in as they say!
I dont believe that Ruby--you will have them in no time
It is blue skies here today...horaay!
alas i will not be stopping for long.
nice for you Zoom! You can go to your moms and dads today
and not have to worry about melting either--lol
I go there almost everyday no matter what the weather, Pugs...they are only up the road.
Albeit a long road but hey.
they still got a housefull of boxes
Many many boxes yes but now only in the garage & conservatory...lol
well gnite all not going anywhere with this grid tonight
Oh yes and in three sheds too...nearly forgot abot those.
night Pink, take care
Have a sweet sleep, Pink :-)
hi zooz ty and a super day to you sounds like a buzy one
Thanks, Pink, well it will start off busy but then it winds down nicely..so no complaints here..lol
So what you been upto the last time we spoke, Pugs...anything good?
just same old stuff--housecleaning all that exciting stuff--lol
Yes i did some of that too...even polished the floor..lol
Not like the stairs as i have carpet on the stairs..lol
do you sock slide over them, like tom cruise? lol
hehehe my friends often say when they come round "bloody hell man i am going to break my kneck one of these days" hahaha..it is not that bad..but when you are not expecting it...it can be a surprise i suppose.
I bet it would too---lol
Are you going to go on any holidays this year, Pugs?
steed
yeah, down to my campgrounds--lol
hangs head in shame...sorry everyone.
morning zoozzoom into the PB for you .... !
Hi scouser
no problem ta for pointer
I am not going any where this year as i can not afford it..lol
hi puglet
Hello, Scouser!
zooz did you avoid the floods?
Lots of flooding on the island but i am ok here...thank goodness....How about yourself?
I have a small camping area and most every week end during the nice weather my girlfriend and her hubby comes and we do things together
all well here. there were spectacular waves in the Mersey though
That sounds wonderful, Pugs...would love to sit round a camp fire with friends!
whereabouts are you pugs?
Yes i can imagine, Scouser, hope you took some photos?
you'de be welcome to join anytine you want Zoom
Iam in the mid-west of Indiana
Aww thanks, Pugs :-)
I didn't as on those windy days little me would have been blown off my feet
Ye i too get blown about when any big winds blow as i am thin as a rake...lol
ye = yes
zoo "stand sideways and get marked absent"?
hahahahah you have seen me then..lol
no I haven't. ..
Thats because i was stood sideways :-)
I just reminded myself of your wonderful "blessed are those who can laugh at themselves..... " on your profile. I have that statement pinned on the wall here.
that's*
got to get the apostrophes correct - no greengrocer's here
I am not very good at apostrophes i admit..but i do try....but find it very hard...i even have books on the subject, but i tend to get lost after a while..lol
brb--coffee refill needed
Don't forget the biscuits, Pugs :-)
the only real problem with apostrophe is in "it's" and "its" where the latter is a possessive without the ap** and the first one is for a missing letter i and should never appear in any technical or formal writing. Otherwise, possessives only.
by the way, what are you going to have in the PB, zoom?
I am sure i am fine with that one. It's the more advanced ones i struggle with remembering.
Let me think........I hope to find in the PB....some pan au chocolat..i do like those :-)
OK buns it is then
LOL
sorry no bisquits but you are welcome to some toast with the coffee or tea, I believe is your choice of drink if I remember right
Oh yes i do like a cup of tea :-)
Do you drink filter coffee, Pugs? Or is it instant.
instant Zoom
I must confess i am not keen on instant..but i do not drink coffee often to be honest.
with having rusty in our water a coffeepot does not last long here
You have rust in your water?
I drink tea now and then---My sister is the tea drinker here. She dont ask for much and I make sure to keep her tea shelf full of different flavors--which is about fifty I think--lol
yes --I have well water
Oh my, Pugs, Have thought about buying a water filter jug..that would take the nasty stuff out of the water?
Now that is a lot of different teas..i take it most of them are herbal teas?
Ive been here so long Iam use to it-----------------Some are---whatever is new on the shelf at the market I get for her. She likes all those flavored teas. Iam not crazy about most of them and I dont like flavored coffees either.
If I drink a cup of tea, I usually drink one called pearl black tea---and one called carmel vanilla
No i am not keen on flavoured teas or herbal teas either. And i do not have anything but so called normal flavoured coffee..lol
Years ago i would have to have a tea strainer to make sure there was no no tea leafs in the bottom of the cup...now i just have the tea bags which they consist of just tea dust..lol
thats all we have too, is just the bag tea
Twinings are supposed to be a good brand for tea.
on the news just now a whole family of 6 parished in a housefire---so sad
Oh that is sad news, Pugs. Is that near you?
I dont know that Ive seen that brand here--will have to look next time---and buy some if so, so that if you come to camp then you can enjoy while sitting at the campfire
And PB for me for the NE4
in the capital city, which is about fifty miles or so from me---but still very sad
With some toasted marshmallows :-)
of couse Zoom, those giant ones at that--lol
Wonder what songs we would all sing...maybe...lets think....errm...smoke gets in your eyes..lol
when I use to camp with my horses, we would got to missourii for a 2 week stay and some lady there made a hot apple cider drink with rum and cin. sticks--was very good
That sounds like a nice toddy!
you can sing whatever floats your boat--lol
Not heard that song, Pugs...Teehee!
Iam not keen on apple cider but it was good
I love horses...but have never ridden one.
well I guess you will have to become a song writter then
I loved camping with them in missiouri---so much fun---we paid a up front fee there and all the eats were free and so on----and on sunday we would have a open church service up beside the hills
I was watching this program a long time ago and it was showing you how to make a horse like you so you can stroke it...And this man goes into the field with these kind of wild horses and then turns his back on them..and they start to come forward..and you have to keep your back turned on them..and eventually the horse takes to you..not sure how it works..but i did try it on some horses in the fields near here and it works!
Now when i go to the field the horse comes trotting over...i give the horse some carrots as a treat..lol
sounds like the horse whisper----why havent you ever went riding Zoom
never taken the time to try..i used to work a lot with two jobs plus out with friends just never got round to it..lol
you must have a trusting nature Zoom that they pick up on from you---thats really good
well its never too late but prepare to be sore for a while--lol
I am a very friendly person...hate to think i have upset anyone..i am rather sensitive i suppose.
Yes lol i have seen many people on horse bobbong up and down..and i used to tthink that must hurt after a while..lol
do people there ride mostly english or we7-44
well you arnt suppose to bob but go with the flow-lol
not sure what the difference is to be honest..but here always legs apart over the horse on saddle hands on rein..horse hat and other gear.
Nah these people are bobbing up and down like a fiddlers elbow...they do not know how to ride a horse then..lol
english saddles have no horn--we7 is cowboy type saddles
Oh i see..as far as i can tell there is no horn or lump on the end of the saddle.
riding english you do post and that is going up and down with the rhymn of the horse
And they do not shout out Yeeha either..lol
Ive never ridden english but just w7
LOL Zoom
I guess if you are going to spend all day on the horse then trotting with bouncing is out of the question.
I think you should try it sometime
riding a horse without a trumpet is sensible
OK so what makes a difference with the riding styles?
morning OO
LOL hello, o-o :-)
hello o-o
well the w7 saddle has a horn in front of you to hold on too and the english saddle is rather flat
I see shows what i know..i thought you just held onto the reins...i can see i would be no good on a horse..lol
but as you learn to ride you dont need to use the horn---the horn was actualy put on there for roping purposes
Ah that would make sense.
hello o-o I just took a look at your profile - now that really is on the other side of the world to here. You need a very large helloooooooooooooooo !
you have to learn Zoom and as you do, thats all you need is the reins---but at first ballance is needed to work on
and its not to late for you to learn at all and I bet you would do just fine
I should think the horse would prefer lightweight riders too
Yes agreed..but i would have to pay for it and alas i am a bit short on funds...now i had to buy a new washing machine.
hehehe thanks, Scouser :-)
in UK riding is an expensive hobby and owning a horse is more expensive than owning a car
I do love going to the fields though and patting the horses and saying hello bla bla blah...but it is nice.
Zoom, maybe someone there would like for you to exercise their horses and it wouldnt cost you anything
are you there o-o ??
Very expensive, Scouser.
yes their upkeep isnt cheap
When the warmer weather arrives i might pluck up the courage and ask.
since I live among the amish--there is horses every where and they farm here with them too
pugs are the Amish still in an earlier century, or can they use the web etc?
I love watching the workhorses do their stuff--they are so big and powerful
none have electric in their homes here and modern things are a no no
zooz you do that - no harm in asking
Have seen a program on the amish and the youger ones start to rebel. They are then cast out of the group and even their parents want nothing to do with them.
I suppose the store and the bank must be their interface with the "outside world".?
some finds ways to go around the restraints of the their religon
popping in to invite everyone for dinner Making a huge NY/Neapolitan style lasagna, trying to make it as well as my beloved mother
Interesting that casting out is the same remedy for bad behaviour in both cultures - we should all follow the western pacific idea of a "Long House" to which teenagers are banished during their awkward years.
like if they need a phone like for buiness they have to have it outside of the home. Looks like outhouse but its their phone booth
The French make awfu lasagna WITH Bolognese SAUCE AND bECHAMEL. BLEAH!!!
Oh rubyfoo just let me look up the times of trains to France............ !
oh that sounds good Ruby--thank you, what time? lol
what is going into your lasagna then?
On the way down this way, Scouser, i will join you..lol
yu;d be welome, scouser! There will be enough for a small army and it's just the two of us
I like it cold next day too, in slices (well, assuming it is the fairly solid type)
Italian sausage in the meat sauce with lots of spices and fresh and canned tomatoes. Ricotta and mozzarella cheeses and grates fresh parmesan on top
I hope it's as good as what my mother used to make
Oh my..my mouth is watering well here.
It's easier and cheaper, to fly to Geneva and rent a car or take a bus
The train is VVERY expensive and nly gets you to Paris, almost 5 hrs away
Tut - too late for the TGV. Tell us two days in advance next time Ruby. that's made me so hungry now.
Tut - too late for the TGV. Tell us two days in advance next time Ruby. that's made me so hungry now.
we are less than an hour from Geneva
They are good trains though and very fast..not like the ones here..lol
off I go, Nice to see everybody!!!
bye Ruby
Enjoy, Ruby.
there is no train service between Geneva and Annecy which is a shame but the TGV to Paris takes about 4 hrs
*woof*
I can fly direct from L'pool to Geneva. 2 hrs. I must organise a visit to my Swissi cousin near Lausanne.
OK i too need to depart..nice walk to see parents and annoy them for a few hours...Nice chatting to you, Pugs & Scouser..until next time..Toodle pips.
and I must go now and tidy up.... I will be gone a long long long time. ttfn
Have you met Ruby, scouser

Metaphorical thinking is at the heart of the human experience. When we encounter something new and unfamiliar—or try to make sense out of something that is not well understood—we often benefit from relating it to something we know well. And when great writers or thinkers have attempted to describe or explain something in a compelling or unforgettable way, their chief tool has been metaphorical phrasing. It is the key to elevating human language from the prosaic to the poetic. William Cullen Bryant expressed it well (and, of course, he phrased it metaphorically): “Eloquence is the poetry of prose.â€

Good day to all.
Hi all :)
Hi Liz. How has Wednesday been?
Wednesday was beautiful here - warm sunny day. Hope it'll be the same for you!
Looks like we got some fresh snow. Everything is white. It's beautiful.
I remember snow - beautiful when it falls, slushy and icy after that! A pain to drive in! LOL!
Caution is needed whn driving. And extra time.
True - in England they were never prepared for snow, so my last 2 experiences were driving home from work. A 40 minute journey took 6 hours and I had to abandon my car and walk the last mile!
Oh, no!
Then the next year the same journey took about 5 hours but at least i got all the way home!
Then there are the maniacs that decide to drive on the pavement in order to get wherever a bit faster!
I live in "snow country", across the valley is a ski resort, so we are always prepared.
because the traffic's at a standstill! No, can't say I miss snow!
I'm sure that it's very manageable generally in large areas of the USA and Canada! Across Europe too!
I have been cross-country skiing and snowshoeing all winter, 3-4 times weekly, and love it. I am not ready for spring yet.
Sounds like fun! Occasionally!!!!
I am always sad when each season ends.
Sadly there's not much difference between seasons here. However, in spring the trees have some beautiful blossom on them - reds, yellows, purples etc. but never a really fresh spring green.
I love mid-spring, when the trees are flowering and the leaves are emerging.
In England I loved Spring and Autumn - for the colours.
Though autumn didn't match the US E. coast colours that I've seen photographed.
We are fortunate to have 4 distinct and wonderful seasons here. I don't like the transition from winter to spring and autumn to winter though. Outdoor activities are difficult to do in between seasons when it is cold and rainy.
We have stunning colors in autumn.
*ggrrrrrrrrr* Here comes the town snowplow. You can hear it growling before it passes.
Still for all that, i don't regret the move here - except perhaps on the few very humid evenings we get here in summer.
You have your own beauty there.
Sure do - the sea was a wonderful turquoise today (enhanced by polarised sun glasses!)
Wow!
If you google "Kirra Beach" images, you'll get an idea of why I love it here.
I will, but I have to give my sick bunny her meds, then syringe-feed her, then get to work. Bye, Liz. Enjoy the day!
You too :)
Could I get a clue for du8, please?
One of two people who play or sing a musical arrangement together.
thanks

Jeez! Garbage guys just tossed the empty cans into the street. Disgruntled or what? I should go out and say, WTF? Nah. I'd probably disappear into a compactor somewhare.

I made a very large, carefully prepared and absolutely mediocre lasagna for dinner. Boo hiss
Ha. 12:18 and the sun has come out. You were right, Molly!
Schizo weather
S'okay, Ruby. Lasagna always tastes better the 2nd day.
Ruby, it has to be better than that underdone quail you had the other day. Urp.
a mewt point, Molly. My mother made the best-ever lasagna and I tried to emulate hers.
Let me guess, you didn't have the right meat to go in it.
What did hubby think of the lasagna, Ruby?
And, is it LaSagna or LeSagna in France?
I had all the right ingredients, but it wasn''t as good as hers
he loved it but I think his sense of tast is gone from too many years of super-spicy food
I'm with Judi, lasagna is always better the next day. I make mine a day ahead.
it's lasagna here, made with béchamel sauce
;-)
I hope you're right because I made a huge amount
Bechamel can be tricky. As long as it was edible, I'd count it as a win.
Wait, wait, your mother made lasagna with béchamel sauce?
this part of France used to be Italian, but they've forgotten how to cook
no no, the Fr make it with béchamel and it's disgusting
You could cut the leftovers into cubes, dredge them, deep fry them and then dip them in marinara. Everything is better deep fried. So I'm told.
Like an arancini, only with lasagna.
good afternoon
a.k.a. besciamella sauce...
Hiya, PHan!
Oh my God, I'm trying to imagine all the fat and cholesterol in deep fried lasagna : O
I know, Molls. My arteries are cringing at the thought. Although, at the Olive Gardens around here, they serve something similar. I have had deep fried mac & cheese. I was great, but OMG... talk about heart attack on a plate.
fried mac and cheese! sounds like heaven
Hi ruby
I am going to make Terragon Chicken, Roasted Asparagus, and a Mixed Grain for my husband's birthday dinner
hi phan
Sounds great, Phan. And healthy!
hi bichon.
OMG - it must be like the good, crusty stuff that bubbles up on the side of the casserole dish when you bake it - great to pick off ! ! !
Yes, Dianne - it's awesome, but so so fattening.
local food is pretentious, expensive and crappy. I miss the food in the US
I hope so, Judi, I don't usually cook, so...
Anything once a year is o.k.
or if you eat standing up
It sucks being a victim of only locally available ingredients.
I actually had real Italian American sausages in the freezer
Did you use them in your lasagna?
Judi, if you feel the Earth rumbling tonight, it's because Phan is cooking.
|It's the restaurants that are poor and I don't feel like doing elaborate cooking like I used to
Yes, I used them in the meat sauce.
and you can't get decent seafood
Hee hee. You go, Phan! Rock our world!
*pictures Ruby raiding the fish tank a the local aquarium* Stop her, she's got a net!
and so soon after the last time I cooked too! We might be in for a huge catastrophy!
*Alerts local EMT services*
very good idea, Molly.
good morning, all :)

it's been over an hour and no chat????
Hi Mary. :-)
hi glad to see someone else is babbling. Been working on the grid with 9 to go, all T's
I think these smallish grids annoy the 'professional Babblers'. They log on, complete the grid in 20 minutes, then vamoose. I struggle! Lol
hi mary and soodle! I have been coming and going, and still have 55 left...
Hello Sue. ((())) always a pleasure to see you. :-)
good evening my babble friends:)
awwww...
hi crossy!
suze!:))
Mary. I'm also called Mary. I was at the doctors last week, and there was a 6 month old in the waiting room called Mary! First time in years I've heard of a child being given our name!
Hey, Cross, old pal. :-)
Funny how names go in and out of fashion - when I was in school there was lots of girls named Sue - babies are never named Sue any more!
good evening all, I have never completed a grid in 20 minutes. Soodle, I hated my name when I was a kid, but now I don't mind it at all. and hi Cross. Any bacon for dinner???? It's 5:45 PM in Chgo.
And I am hungry, better finish soon
are you in Chicago, Mary?
I have a 19 yr old daughter called Suzie.
I am in DeKalb - about an hour west
Yes, in Chicago area and right now it is 15 degrees with wind chill of 7 below. Sue, you probably have the same.
ah, you are keeping my name alive, soodle! :-)
I am in Oak Lawn, IL
we are a little colder, mary, no buildings around to warm us up (also we are far enough from the lake that it has little effect)
right now it is 11F here, according to the Weatherbug...
Nursery Rhymes Lyrics and Origins - Mary Mary Quite Contrary: http://tinyurl.com/fzgos
Was downtown Chicago today and it was WINDY. With all the bldgs don't know why it's so windy. Froze.
it was windy here too when I was out walking the dog - wasn't too bad unless I was walking into it, then it was awful
o-o went into nursery rhymes and can't tell you how many times I've heard the Mary, Mary Quite Contrary
hi everyone!
hi jen!
it is COLD here today!
yes, we were just talking about that - I see you are from the midwest as well!
Do you know the lovely Joan Baez song 'Last Night there were four marys......'
Venturi effect Mary.
no Deeha do not
It is an old folk song about the four ladies in waiting to Mary Queen of Scots all named Mary - one became pregnant by the Queens husband and when the baby was born -so legend says- she threw it in the sea and was executed for it
just checked the lyrics about Mary Hamilton. Interesting. never heard it b/4
A fund of useless information-me!
agree. fireworks for me finally, now I must decide what to eat. bye all.
yay mary!
howdy, ((soodles)) sorry my mind and fingers wandered there for a minute or three
fireworks!
yay uusue!
Congrats uu!!
hi crossy!
I may be losing my mind here but does anyone else see a gunny little green link beside the word "diet" under the "my word list" ?
i thing i had ad-ware issues:((
have
no, it's just you, crossy
yup, time to run ad-aware
I do use an ad-blocker but it hasn't blocked anything on this page
nope
i try to run ad-aware and windows security essentials at least once a week
only recently have i discontinued using avg anti- virus in favour of windows security essentials
the du 8, does it have anything to do with du 4 under it?
Nope, Crossy. No little green link. Just a sergeant-major type pointing at me and the word diet, and a word balloon saying 'GO ON ONE'
no, the one above it
lol, soodles
ok thank u
hi all. clue for the 8s?
hi mkg, no 8s yet here
got one st8
the other one is du8/50
and yes, the du8 is related to the du5 (it's the person who plays)
ty for st. got it.
du looking for it.
i have a du 6 that is something you clean house with. is the 8 from it?
my bad, i misdirected you shorty as i have the du 4 and the du 8 but not the 5 that goes with it. my bad
thats ok crosshair i got it and it sorta does
there, now i have the 5
i have two du 4s and one 5: plural of a 4. does this help?
ryhmes with nudest but different ending but sounds the same if that makes ant sense,LOL
is the du 8 from the first du four or the second one?
any*
darn. i am getting confused. du 8 is from the du which is to play??????or it is from music played by two people???? this is a du**.
i got that du 8. double cons. was the reason i couldnt get it before. ty for clues.
two people
sorry probably my fault cause i cant clue worth anything but the 5 above it
it is the 4 word + Monet was a great ar****
didnt know that word was double consonant. that was confusing.
OK its bed time. Goodnight folk and good luck
not to worry, can can turn any easy to understand clue into a riddle, folded in a mystery then wrapped into an enigma
help with the st8?
jen, some people do this when they speak. they cant get the words to come out. sometimes they repeat the same letter sound over and over as in "the cat is bl bl bl bl bl bl bl black. this is called st*****ing. make it plural

Indeed - also yellow tulips my favourites
gtg - time to make dinner.
enjoy your dinner - just finished ours
hi
hello herin
HOwdy. I have a really odd question. I am looking at making whoopie pies and was wondering if there was anyone that may have a recipe they like to use and wouldn't mind linking me too.
please
don't know anything about whoopie pies - did you try googling - whoopie pie recipe
gert most of my recipes on line now
I did but I was just wondering if there was anyone that had a fav online
I was actually thinking normal cake batter
what are the basis for whoopie pies
Cake and icing Like a cookie but cake like
it is an old use of too much cake batter but not enough for a whole cake
just looked it up - the recipe at "allrecipe.com" called for using a cake mix batter
I do not like making packet cake mix. I felt slightly like making food
How are you going WV?
having a good day - snowy morning so music practice was cncelled so got caught up on things and made some soup (which was dinner) and thenwas with grandkids this afternoonafternoon
and you?
I spent about 4 hours on trains and buses yesterday. Very tired today
where were you going?
To an appointment and back. I don't drive. I had to wait in total an hour for 2 trains.
no wonder you were tired out
I wouldn't have minded if i missed the train by a proper time but both times was by under 2 min
how frustrating -
If I was naughty I could have ducked under the closing boom gate but I prefer to miss a train than get squished
public buses here don;t go many places and I really count on having the car
I am lucky to have a good network of buses and trains. It is this one appointment every few weeks that is on a line that runs every 30min. Most lines are 15 min
too small of a town to have any trains
my husband walks most everywhere but my knees have enough arthritis that I don't get very far going up and down hills
Melbourne is a large sprawling city
hello all
hello TO
TO Hi
hello, herin
i grew up in a large city with lots of buses and trains available
This train line has only one track where as the other have 2 or more in sections so it has a 30min turn around.
had a good contra dance this past weekend at our music festival - thought of you TO - and wondered if you did contra dancing
i don't , teach. but many of the other dancers do. it is quite strenuous.
had a successful music festival this past weekend and the weather even cooperated
that is nice. did you play?
hi folks
yes - did a little bit of everything - my husband and I coordinate the festival - i performed twice on stage and taught two workshops - one on lap dulcimer and the other on bowed psaltery
you can check out the fewstival at gwmf.org
owl - saturday, the 15th!
hello welki
(phone - will catch up later)
nice, is there video?
yay, welk!
my husband has lots of videos but none on the web site and none of his pictures from this year are there yet - there are some clips on youtube
you play mtn dulimer, correct?
yes, i playt the mountain dulcimer and also am learning to play the bowed psaltery
ooh, i wish the timiing was better. i would have loed this!
our festival is always the last full weekend in February - this was the 36th year
we gret about 200 people on Friday and 400 - 500 on Saturday
well,i mean weather wise. but this year, there was really no good time
we do a smaller festival in June - the first weekend in June - PattyFest
wow that is one huge hammered dulcimer in that photo
the festival is in honor / memory of Patty Looman who played the hammered dulcimer
Patty was also my teacher on the mountain dulcimer
teach, do you dance as well?
Teach interesting instrument
i used to many years ago - but now have too much arthritis in my knees - need to get them both replaced
oh wow. i just read about a new treatment, injections to restore the cushioning
the artritis has worn away the joint too much and bones are close to rubbing - most injections are cortisone based and, being diabetic, can't tolerate cortisone
have braces thast actually force the bones apart - but I don't like wearing the braces
i see. this one was not that, i do recall, but an acutal replacement for the cartilage. at least it did not state it was steroid.
being diabetic complicates everything.
will have to check it out - just heard about a "pain block" that speeds up recovery - my biggest fear is the lengthy recovery - I can never find the time to give up doing things
I've had both my knees replaced, wv, would recommend not doing them at the same time
for my first I was off work for about 8 weeks; for the second they used a newer technique and I was back after 4 weeks
hi sue
the surgeon that i have gone to will not do the two at the same time - but my sister had both done at the same time because thsat is what her surgeon recommended
hi TO!
the rehab is not fun but is necessary for full recovery - my knees are both fine now
Hi Sue
hi herin!
watched while my sister was going through it
anyway I am off again - finished earlier but noticed the knee chat when I had to reboot my computer :-)
see you all tomorrow!
take care sue
Take care Sue
bye, sue
